  5. You know those kiosks in malls that sell fresh, warm cinnamon buns? That’s what my perfume smelled like—wild and sweet. I couldn’t let it go, man. It initially had hints of burnt caramel, but in less than a minute it smoothed itself. So despite reading and writing manuals about “different seasons, different scents”, I decided to make it my signature fragrance. For a year, at least. The catch here was that my perfume was neither an office-friendly material nor a date-like fragrance. It was a party scent—strong and a mix of all. It made me encounter some spicy and some bitter truths about spraying the same men’s perfume. 1. It Takes A Few Attempts To Find A Universal ScentI rejected a few scents before I discovered a fragrance I wouldn’t get bored of. Also, when you’re planning to wear the same perfume day after day, you might get used to the notes and not feel the kick anymore. So what kind of flavours are your forever favourite also plays an important role here. It did for me. __ECOMPRODUCT__3163__ 2. Wrong Scents Can Actually Piss People OffMaybe after a month or two, you won’t smell the perfume as strongly as before but people around you will. So it’s crucial to pick a neutral, pleasant scent that the majority of people can comprehend and complement. I have seen people who are not a fan of sweets or cinnamon feel cranky around me and the friends who loved the sweet and spicy combo, stuck around a little more. It’s a natural reaction. That’s what perfume does to you. It rules your mood. __ECOMPRODUCT__3165__ 3. Made A Note: Seasons Matter & So Does The Timing In warmer climates, a scent spreads quickly so a mild perfume seems good enough but this doesn’t happen in the colder weather. You need stronger and deeper fragrances to make an impression. Of course, I knew it. Didn’t realise how important these factors were until now. When I applied my perfume in summer, it was overwhelming for some of my colleagues so I had to reduce the number of spritzes. __ECOMPRODUCT__2703__ 4. I Realised When I Was Applying Too Much Or Too LessYes, two to three spritzes are enough but no one can decide that number for you. When I wore my perfume at work, it seemed like too much. The same perfume on a date smelled quite underwhelming. This gave me a clearer picture of what works when you’re outdoors at night and what feels pleasant around colleagues, in the daytime, indoors. Bonus: Most of my dates appreciated my perfume for its nostalgic value—delish and equally spicy. __ECOMPRODUCT__3166__ 5. My Perfume Became People’s MemoryMy folks and friends could tell the day I changed my perfume. Smells and memories are deeply connected and most of my key moments in that year got linked to my scent. Not just for me but also, for the people around me. The fragrance complimented my mood and emotions for a long time. Understand that for people, even the ones who know the specifics of your perfume, it becomes your scent. One of their strongest senses activates a memory of you whenever they smell the same perfume anywhere else. That’s why they call it signature scent—it’s powerful stuff. __ECOMPRODUCT__2965__ What Made Me Change My Scent? In short: I got bored. After a year, I was in a different mood, a different place in my life, I was experiencing different emotions. The warm cinnamon-caramel notes didn't go well with them. So, yes, much like your clothes, you do grow out of your favourite perfume. The good news is that there’s always another badass, signature scent waiting for you. Explore More View the full article
  6. Kate Middleton has been likened to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana on more than one occasion
  7. Rishi Kapoor was busy filming for Sharmaji Namkeen when he passed away in April 2020. The film was left incomplete and as his son Ranbir Kapoor revealed in a special video, the makers considered using VFX but that didn’t work. Later, Ranbir tried to finish his father’s last film by using prosthetics but that attempt failed as well. That’s when makers had a unique idea of roping in another actor to play the same role in the remaining portions of the film and treating the audience with Rishi Kapoor’s final performance. © Amazon Prime Video The trailer of Sharmaji Namkeen features Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal playing the same character, probably a first in Hindi cinema. The film is a unique coming of age story of a retired man and how he decides to live his life the way he wants to. The trailer is funny and heart-warming and hits you right in the feels. Take a look at it below: Reacting to the trailer, one fan tweeted, “How beautifully they present the trailer of #SharmajiNamkeen. I mean i am just amazed & emotional at the same time, literally gotta goosebumps! Life mein aur kya chahiye... Two powerhouse of acting in the same film, #RishiKapoor & #PareshRawal. #SharmaJiNamkeenTrailer”. Another wrote, “It's odd and wholesome at the same moment to see two legendary Indian actors play one character in one movie. Watching #SharmajiNamkeen will be a different experience for sure.” View the full article

  11. Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni led the Indian cricket team with great aplomb and produced some terrific results. During his tenure, Dhoni won us everything that was there to be done whereas under Kohli’s command we learnt how to win Test series away from home. © Reuters Both the leaders had their own ways of leading the side and the Indian team achieved great success playing under both of them. While MS Dhoni was known for his calm and composed demeanour, his successor was famous for his aggression. While Dhoni had mastered the art of handling the spinners, Kohli liked attacking through his fast bowlers. © Reuters It was under Dhoni that India reached the top of the world Test rankings while under Kohli we finished on top for five consecutive years. They both had a different approach but their end goal was the same – help the Indian cricket scale new heights. The Indian cricket fans should be proud that we had such leaders who provided us with countless memories to cherish for throughout our lives. © Reuters But rather than enjoying their achievements, we often engage in unnecessary comparisons, pitting one great against the other, in order to find out who among them was the best. And it’s not just fans, sometimes even renowned cricket experts create unnecessary controversies by comparing two players with massive fan following. © Reuters Sometimes on purpose, sometimes unknowingly, they say things which upset one set of fans and provide them with the fodder to start a fight. Cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar during an interaction with CNN-News 18 compared the two former captains of the Indian team, Dhoni and Kohli. © Reuters Comparing the two, he raised a question on Kohli’s aggressive attitude on the field. The former India batter argued that the way Dhoni conducted himself on the field showed us that it was possible to win matches without being in the face of the opposition all the time. Manjrekar further added that while many people felt that Kohli’s aggression was his strength and it brought out the best in him, it was not true. The 56-year-old said that Kohli won matches not because of his aggressiveness but due to players’ performances. #IndianCricketWar Former Indian cricketer @sanjaymanjrekar in an exclusive conversation with @ShivaniGupta_5 speaks on Indian Cricket churn. He says, 'This is like a crisis, but the problem can be solved easily.' Manjrekar also speaks on Ravi Shastri & #ViratKohli, Listen in! pic.twitter.com/BMyCjlum46 — News18 (@CNNnews18) January 25, 2022 “MS Dhoni didn’t have the same energy on the field but he had great results. So Virat didn’t win or lose only because of this. I judge a leader by the playing XI; that was a major issue with Virat,” Manjrekar said during the interaction. “No, he did have a couple of years, especially in Tests where his spirit was key. His playing XI selection hasn’t been good, a legacy that is left behind by previous management. So he did have a couple of years, but his form was a problem,” he added. © Twitter/BCCI What Dhoni achieved in terms of trophies is a benchmark for all the future leaders but just because Kohli couldn’t win any silverware, doesn’t mean his accolades were any inferior.
