  1. Captain Marvel is just about two weeks away and honestly we can't wait for it to release soon enough. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch a movie about a superhero who is supposed to be the strongest out of everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Well, actually there are a lot of sexist people out there who are already trying to make the movie bomb on Rotten Tomatoes even before its release but the first reactions to it are here and it looks like the movie is so good, it's bound to shut all the trolls up. Yes, I'm going to ignore the fact a lot of people have already seen the movie - just like I am ignoring the fact that a few people have also already watched 'Avengers: Endgame' - and we're going to focus on how people are saying that Brie Larson has killed it! The movie acts as an origin story for Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel and it'll be great to be introduced to her character before 'Endgame' because we all know how important she will be in that movie. Remember that end credit scene from 'Infinity War'? Coming back to the movie, here are all the positive reactions it has already gotten. #CaptainMarvel has a great '90s sci-fi vibe w/ a tone unlike any other Marvel movie, really. It's retro & trippy, mysterious & dorky. It's funny in surprising places & badass in all the right places. It remains entertaining because it's always changing. It's got the right stuff pic.twitter.com/o7AvqYY63x — Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) February 20, 2019 I'm already pumped! Love the cat, love Sam Jackson, LOVE Ben Mendelsohn, but honestly I'm calling Lashana Lynch as MVP. She brings an emotional weight to the film that is needed and transforms the entire movie upon arrival. Definitely need to see more of her#CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/QeEzUBM8O1 — Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) February 20, 2019 Yes, of course. Fans of #CaptainMarvel comics are going to love the movie. Plain and simple. — Brandon Davis (@BrandonDavisBD) February 20, 2019 Only 90s kids will know. #CaptainMarvel is (takes deep 90s breath) TOTALLY AWESOME. Never related to a Marvel character quite like Carol. She's the stubborn witty 90s kid I like to think I am. pic.twitter.com/H6Q9s90KHA — Ash Crossan (@AshCrossan) February 20, 2019 Everyone loves the cat too. The future of the MCU gets even brighter adding #CaptainMarvel to the mix. Really fell for @brielarson's sass, strength & energy in the role. Same with @LashanaLynch too! Ben Mendelsohn is A+ casting as Talos. And yes, Goose is a scene stealer. 2nd viewing can't come soon enough. — Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) February 20, 2019 Everyone loves weird, don't they? CAPTAIN MARVEL isn't what I expected based on marketing. It's pretty much an “all in” cosmic space movie. Also, it's a lot weirder than I expected. Ben Mendelsohn is awesome as Talos. — Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) February 20, 2019 Which Nirvana song? I need to know! I can't get over how great Ben Mendelsohn is. I was worried he was just going to be one of those Marvel villains with alien makeup, but that's not the case at all. This movie doesn't work without him. — Mike Ryan (@mikeryan) February 20, 2019 Understandable. And in news that is very true to my brand, I would die for Goose the cat. #CaptainMarvel — Devan Coggan (@devancoggan) February 20, 2019 Tweets that keep me going. #CaptainMarvel: Well, Thanos is fucked. — Angie J. Han (@ajhan) February 20, 2019 Honestly, here for it. My kingdom for a Nick Fury & Goose buddy comedy #CaptainMarvel — Angie J. Han (@ajhan) February 20, 2019 So much excitement. Just out of #CaptainMarvel. So many fun surprises I didn't expect + new (and old?) characters to love. — Kara Warner (@karawarner) February 20, 2019 Is it a buddy cop movie or a superhero movie? #CaptainMarvel is a great origin story. Brie's buddy cop chemistry with @SamuelLJackson is so much fun and her relationship with Lashana Lynch is the real heart of it. Ben Mendelsohn and the cat both steal the show. — Peter Sciretta (@slashfilm) February 20, 2019 Really excited for the soundtrack now. I FUCKING LOVED #CAPTAINMARVEL Its very different than most of the MCU films and so very 90s. It's funny and fun and super empowering. It made me feel proud to be a woman. Also, as a 90s teen, the soundtrack....oh, the soundtrack ⤠— Yolanda Machado (@SassyMamainLA) February 20, 2019 Welcome, Carol. Captain Marvel is a blast! Has some cool surprises that I definitely didn't see coming, and the mystery/origin it weaves is engaging and fun. Brie Larson is awesome, and makes a fantastic first step into the MCU #CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/oqrRtgDQrp — Eric Eisenberg (@eeisenberg) February 20, 2019 One of our favourites of all time? Wow. Captain Marvel is everything that I hoped it would be. It feels completely unlike any other Marvel film. A unique and fresh take on an origin story that feels new. Brie Larson is fantastic as Carol Danvers. This is one of my favorite Marvel movies of all time. #CaptainMarvel pic.twitter.com/0ou7HU93MY — Scott Menzel (@TheOtherScottM) February 20, 2019 It's got everything going. #CaptainMarvel opens with a very touching Stan Lee tribute that Marvel fans will love. pic.twitter.com/yXDScRwiwW — Anna Klassen (@AnnaJKlassen) February 20, 2019

  3. Ever since the trailer of 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' was released, one thing was clear that it's not going to be just another regular Bollywood love story starring Rajkummar Rao and Sonam Kapoor. Yet, people had high hopes and ever higher doubts from this movie and wondered if it will be able to do justice to the sensitive topic it was trying to highlight. © Fox Star Studios The movie finally hit the theatres today and fans are not disappointed at all. Sonam Kapoor, who plays a lesbian in the movie, has done a brilliant job and this is not a fangirl speaking. Her acting is truly impressive. So is Rajkummar Rao's, who pulls off his character with utmost brilliance. © Fox Star Studios Recently, the makers of the film hosted a special screening for their Bollywood friends and the early reviews speak volumes about the efficiency with which the storyline was handled. From her 'Padman' co-star Akshay Kumar, Farah Khan Kunder, Ayushmann Khurrana to Sonam and Rajkummar's fans; celebrities have flooded social media with congratulatory messages applauding the team and the movie. 4. In today's day and age, imagine living a social media nightmare! How absolutely callous do you have to be, right? Well, seems like callousness got the better of 'Baaghi 2' beauty, Disha Patani, who posted a big blunder on her Instagram, unknowingly. © Twitter The actress, who's also known as a social media influencer, posted a promotional video for a mobile phone on her Instagram page. The video was like how all promotional videos are supposed to be- well thought out, where she learns about the good camera quality the phone has and takes pictures of herself while she's in various yoga poses. Unfortunately though, while posting the video on her page, she copy-pasted the wrong text as caption and didn't realise it until she was trolled and ridiculed by her followers for it. © Instagram disha patani is an advertising agency nightmare pic.twitter.com/mlu6gkhure — n (@themdavesaves) 22 January 2019 The wrongly put caption read: “Hey - final video is here. Will mail you the high res video in something so please use that as the final video to be uploaded. Caption below,” Oops, talk about being so heavily distracted, you don't even realise one of the biggest faux-pas that can maybe question your 'influencer' abilities! Obviously her 17 million followers were appalled at her foolishness or were convinced she's an 'advertising agency nightmare'. © Instagram A lot of other followers left no stone unturned and made it a point to comment on her absentmindedness. Here, you can have a chuckle and a large bucket of popcorn while reading some of the comments below. Ctrl C+ Ctrl V isn't enough to copy. It requires brain too ð — Vishesh Arora (@vishesharora19) 22 January 2019 This one steals the show though. Copy Paste kaise karte hai yeh Disha ko Patani — LowCash Rahul (@NayaGamer) 22 January 2019 She's since changed the caption to a regular one and everything else is back to normal or so it seems. Although her fans defended her saying it's probably her team who'd captioned it and not her, we're still a tad doubtful as most celebrities usually manage their own Instagram and Twitter accounts. © Instagram Well, whatever it is, here's hoping against all hope Disha doesn't zone out again and copy-paste some seriously wrong captions at the risk of people asking her 'what are you smoking girl'?, the next time around! For now let's just wish we get to see the fit diva in 'Baaghi 3', with her rumoured bae Tiger Shroff.
  5. One of the most awaited movies of early 2019, Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's 'The Accidental Prime Minister' released today and it's already creating a mighty uproar amongst the audience. The movie is based on the political journey of our former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh from 2004-2014, and since its first trailer launched, the film has gathered a lot of controversy around it, especially from the political front. A lot of people are calling it 'propaganda' before the general elections this year and while we're wondering why these doubts weren't addressed when the book, written by Sanjaya Baru, was released, we're also hoping the movie does fairly well. © Rudra Productions (UK) Amongst everything else, the audience is appreciating Anupam Kher's portrayel as Dr. Manmohan Singh and along with a few celebrities, the audience has tweeted some extremely positive things about it. Here are some Twitter reactions from celebrities and people, who've already seen the movie, just in case you're looking for a quick and on-point review before you go and watch it this weekend. Well, from a renowned journalist's point of view: Saw #AccidentalPrimeMinister and felt very uneasy at the end of it. Just like after reading the book. I wish the book had never been written and the movie never been made. I don't want to remember the the 10 years of Dr Singh this way. — Smita Prakash (@smitaprakash) 10 January 2019 Divya Dutta appreciates Anupam Kher's work in the movie: Watched #AccidentalPrimeMinister .the supremely gifted @AnupamPKher performs the toughest role with such elan..m speechless.respect sire and big hug! Loved the way you say https://t.co/ZCBkydQFM3 real vulnerable n yet strong. And another brilliant performance by #akshaye khanna! — Divya Dutta (@divyadutta25) 10 January 2019 And he tweets back... Thank you dearest @divyadutta25. Praise coming from a national award winning actor like you is so heart warming and encouraging.ðð https://t.co/g6tneELOP2 — Anupam Kher (@AnupamPKher) 10 January 2019 Shekhar Kapoor says it best: Two very strong performances make #AccidentalPrimeMinister a must see film. Akshaye Khanna and Anupam Kher. Anupam creates Manmohan Singh as a man who seems weak but carries great strength inside. Yet ultimately finds that principles and politics do not go together @AnupamPKher — Shekhar Kapur (@shekharkapur) 10 January 2019 What @AnupamPKher has done in playing Manmohan Singh in #AccidentalPM is to create something that could easily have become a caricature, into a breathing relatable human being that you want to reach out to and hug. That takes a lot of skill. — Shekhar Kapur (@shekharkapur) 10 January 2019 Thank you dearest @shekharkapur for being so gracious and magnanimous in your appreciation of my work in #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. Coming from you it means the world to me.ðð https://t.co/KbutGvjoHr — Anupam Kher (@AnupamPKher) January 10, 2019 Thank you dearest @shekharkapur for being so gracious and magnanimous in your appreciation of my work in #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister. Coming from you it means the world to me.ðð https://t.co/KbutGvjoHr — Anupam Kher (@AnupamPKher) January 10, 2019 Anil Kapoor too lauded friend Anupam Kher's performance: Just like every role you do, @AnupamPKher you have done full justice to this character as well. You're such a great story teller! This definitely was a difficult film and could only be done by an actor par excellence. You are impeccable! #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister pic.twitter.com/tWogx1zSXL — Anil Kapoor (@AnilKapoor) January 10, 2019 And of course the audience who had to share their reviews on Twitter had a lot to say as well: For a while, I forgot that he is @AnupamPKher not MMS, what an actin by kher. Just watched #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister — Tushar Makwana (@tusharmakwana5) January 10, 2019 Every Indian Should watch #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister Superb Acting by @AnupamPKher Ji A must watch movie The movie has many villains but Dr. Manmohan Singh will be a Hero after this movie for sure — Mrigank Tyagi (@TheMrigankTyagi) January 10, 2019 Forget the pols.... #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister is one of the bravest film to happn in d recent times. After seeing the film,it makes my heart swell wth pride that @AnupamPKher is an Indian actor and one of the greatest in the world .... (followed in the thread) — Priyanka Ghatak (@priyankaghatak) January 10, 2019 3 Hrs to go for the much awaited #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister show the anticipation has been good. @AnupamPKher Sir's acting on top of that. Maza aayega à¤à¤. Jai Hind. — Ultimate Blunt (@BluntUltimate) January 11, 2019 #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister #FirstDay #FirstShow @AnupamPKher @barugaru Youtube Link- https://t.co/uLFOd7bqkB pic.twitter.com/a4YX7h8D8K — Subham Gupta (@subhamgupta_) January 11, 2019 Hope @ArvindKejriwal will watch #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister soon and provide his very valuable feedback. Would love to know more about Sonia Gandhi's role and performance by Suzzane in the movie. CM sahab, awaiting your review. — Delhi Boy (@vipulIT) January 11, 2019 So far the reactions have been positive and most of them have been towards Anupam Kher's performance in the movie. While Kher sets the standard way high by giving an excellent performance, we also have people talking about Akshaye Khanna's role in the movie who play's Sanjaya Baru. © Rudra Productions (UK) In case you're looking for a movie to check out this weekend, we believe this one will be your best bet. The movie should be a good watch for how the characters have been caricatured in the movie and of course the story line that can eliminate all possible doubt, ever, if you haven't read the book of course!
  6. What do you do when everything you say is weighed and analysed and even interpreted differently? And I don't mean this in a very 'institutionalised' way but in a generic situation rather. The #MeToo generation has created a bold wave throughout the country and almost everyone, men and women alike, is watching everyone's words and actions and taking them heavily into account. There is no tolerance for backhanded lewd comments or even inappropriate dialogues, that can make women especially, uncomfortable. Men, especially, have a tremendous responsibility to make the atmosphere a bit easy for women and not go all out with words that can offend the opposite gender. © Pinterest It was different maybe 10 years ago, where explicit comments or jokes were laughed about in public but frowned upon behind closed doors, or amidst groups. Words like 'misogyny' and 'sexism' didn't really create a conundrum and everything was apparently under 'good humour' or under the realms of 'getting to know someone better'. But now, times are different and even if a man wants to genuinely say something to a woman, he has to think a certain amount of times before he can. He's always worried if he's going to offend her or say something that may sound inappropriate to her. Let's not deny or debate that we've all grown up in a chauvinistic culture, that systematically demeans women without thinking the words that are said to her may have the wrong implications and affect her in a negative way. © Thinkstock I am not here to point fingers or lay blame but to make the environment a bit more fostering to the recent culture, where we're all trying to practice 'equality' of thought and action and the right way to begin, is to identify what women are sick and tired of hearing from the opposite gender, especially the ones who identify themselves as feminists. Here are a few things you mustn't say out loud to any woman, that may offend her or make her feel objectified: (1) 'You're Not Like The Other Women' This might sound flattering in your head but to her, you're just trying to say 'hey, you're not dumb or lame like the rest, so good for you'!. Women don't like any other women being put down, especially by a man. So if you really have to compliment her, you can probably say 'you're not like anyone I've ever met before'. (2) 'Yeah, My Ex Was Crazy' Women who respect other women do not like to hear that they are crazy, just because things didn't work out between the two of you. You're just trying too hard to maybe hit on the woman you're telling this to, so she sympathises with you and credits you for not calling her crazy instead. But you're just ruining the game for yourself. Honour women, even the ones things didn't work out with. That's being a gentleman. (3) 'I Didn't Know You're So Smart' Trust me, I have heard enough men at social gatherings say this and the women just look away or brush the comment off as a one-off thing. But it really isn't. Are you trying to flatter her by saying you're just interested in her for her looks and her being smart is coming to you as a surprise? Of course, she's smart! She may be smarter than you too, and that's okay to accept! (4) 'Man, That's A Lot Of Make-Up' Sometimes women just want to look and feel good for themselves. What do you do to make yourself feel good? Think of it that way. If a woman wants to look a certain way, it's up to her discretion and you shouldn't judge her on what she's wearing or how much makeup she has on. Commenting on someone sardonically, who expresses themselves clearly is an age-old societal illness and it needs to be eradicated! (5) 'Do You Not Want To Settle Down'? I am sure a lot of women hear this from relatives and friends alike. It's her choice to figure when she wants to settle and even if she doesn't, you can definitely play it a tad low with the judgment. Women do not like this question because it sounds regressive coming from men. Only because they're stereotyped as 'homemakers'. If a woman is happy in a good job and living her life according to her will, maybe that's settling down for her? (6) 'Why Aren't You Smiling' You'd probably say that to your GF if she's not in the mood. Well, women are not here to boost your ego and do things at your whim. So if you want her to 'smile', do something funny? (7) 'Are You PMSing'? Yes, PMS is a biologically factual part of every woman's life and due to legit imbalanced hormones at a particular time of the month, women may be moody. But does that mean you mock them or ask them really silly questions and make the situation worse? Voicing that she maybe PMSing to dismiss anything you may have said or done wrong, is absolutely demeaning and inappropriate. (8)'Hey Relax, I am A Feminist' If you really have to try this hard to impress a woman, maybe you're not a male feminist. A male feminist won't keep saying it loud and instead, will do things that are more responsible like respect women and say the right things to them. (9) 'Wow That's A Big Number' This is if she ever discloses how many men she's slept with. So what if it's a big number? Aren't women allowed to enjoy their sexuality? I have heard numerous men comment on the number of men women have slept with. They've mocked it and scorned it but it's hypocritical if they sleep with numerous women and are proud of it? Let her enjoy her sexuality in peace boys! (10) 'You're Too Loud For A Woman' This can also translate to 'you have a strong voice and I am intimidated' or 'you're too much of a free spirit for me'. Some men find it really hard to come to terms with the fact that women are their own person or independent enough to do things their own way or speak up against something, without the support of a man. Especially at workplaces or in social settings. But never silence a woman when she's speaking up because she has an equal right to do so. If a woman is being loud with her decibel volume and you're complaining, that's just sad then. There are a lot more offensive things you can say to a woman today and you'll probably not get away with it anymore. Just make sure you're not using archaic ways to demean someone subtly, just because you're entitled to. Honestly, no one is entitled to offending someone and it's time to understand the thin line between being offensive and trying to flatter or compliment someone.
  7. Not all heroes wear capes, some shout 'Thain Thain' to scare the criminals when their pistol gets jammed. We're not talking about a Rajinikanth movie, this actually happened in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district. A team of UP cops were out on an encounter and chasing goons, when they realised their pistols were jammed. Now, this is a major problem and definitely a serious concern. But, fear not when the UP police is here. They had the perfect solution to this problem - shout 'thain thain' instead to scare the criminals. #WATCH: Police personnel shouts 'thain thain' to scare criminals during an encounter in Sambhal after his revolver got jammed. ASP says, 'words like 'maaro & ghero' are said to create mental pressure on criminals. Cartridges being stuck in revolver is a technical fault'. Speaking to ANI, the ASP said the pistol got jammed due to a technical glitch. He further said, words like 'maaro, maaro, ghero, ghero' create mental pressure on the criminals. Reportedly, a policeman was injured and the team managed to arrest one of the criminals after shooting him in his leg. While their mission was successful as they managed to catch the criminal, Twitter had a field day, tripping over the UP cops shouting 'thain thain'. 8. As the 'Me Too' movement takes centre stage and the nation by storm, more and more women are coming forward to expose the men, who misused their power and sexually harassed and abused them. From Nana Patekar, certain AIB members, 'Queen' director Vikas Bahl, noted actor Rajat Kapoor to Bollywood's 'Sanskaari Babuji' Alok Nath; almost every day someone or the other is sharing stories of being sexually assaulted and harassed by powerful men. Recently, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya found his name on the list as well, after he was accused of sexually harassing a former flight attendant, at a pub in Kolkata in 1998. © Twitter The woman shared her story on Facebook where she said that Abhijeet "followed me here, He twists my wrist, pulling me towards him and screaming in my ear, 'b***h what do you think of yourself, wait till I teach you a lesson', almost kissing and nibbling me on my left ear...I pushed him and ran to the DJ console to get him to shut the music down." She even mentioned that Abhijeet was banned from visiting that hotel and a leading daily even covered her story. She has also accused former Sri Lankan player Arjuna Ranatunga of sexually harassing her. When questioned about these allegations, Abhijeet blatantly denied the allegations and said he wasn't even born at that time. In an interview with The Indian Express, he said "Somebody told me over the call. I was not born at that time. I have never gone to pubs in my life. You'll never find me at any page 3 or filmy parties. My name sells. If someone's benefiting from it, good. Sometimes earning their bread and butter with my name, it's fine." In fact, to defend himself, he went on to insult women who are speaking up by calling them "fat, ugly and bad." He said, "Why should I give attention to that person? You are giving it importance not me. Most of the people who are coming out right now are dirty, ugly people. No one deserves (the attention). Just to grab some attention they are coming out." LISTEN IN: Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who was accused of sexual harassment by a flight attendant has made an unimaginable comment, says that he doesn't want to give attention to fat and ugly girls, who are now coming out to blame people as an attention seeking tactic pic.twitter.com/asnKrdxyFw — TIMES NOW (@TimesNow) October 10, 2018 If we go by his words, that he wasn't even born in 1998! How on Earth did he manage to sing for Shah Rukh Khan's 'Yes Boss' that was released in 1997? We don't know if the allegations against Abhijeet are true or not, but nothing gives him the right to demean or belittle women, especially those who are mustering the courage to speak up against sexual harassment. Let us know in the comment section what you think about this.
  9. He is sassy, witty and holds the uncanny power to make a celeb cough up intimate details about themselves. Karan Johar is one of those few filmmakers who has been more than just a director. He has been an actor, producer, costume designer and he is the host of a popular show as well. The filmmaker, just like any other star in the industry, has earned his fair share of criticism and praise, but it goes without saying that he is one of a kind. On set! #Brahmastra!!! A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Jul 31, 2018 at 1:23pm PDT Recently, Karan appeared on Anaita Shroff Adajania's chat show 'Feet Up With The Stars' and got candid. From spilling details about his *** life to revealing who he would marry in a heartbeat, KJo went all out talking about things like never before. When asked about his love life, the actor went on to say something that certainly did shock us. #studentseries @s1dofficial #familyloveâ¤ï¸ A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Jul 13, 2018 at 1:32pm PDT “I am undersexed and underpaid. I don't date like serious dating. There are some situations that allow you to venture into an intimate zone, now and then.” Well, him being 'underpaid' and 'undersexed' does remind us of Salman Khan confessing to KJo on 'Koffee with Karan' that he is still a virgin. Yeah, you know what we are talking about! “Casual *** is not something that works for me at all. I need to be able to interact with the person. Have some level of conversation, therefore a level of comfort,” he added. When asked whom would he marry if he were to pick from Bollywood's bevy of beauties, he went on to reveal who he loves the most this time and no, it's not Twinkle Khanna. “Kareena. She is fun fabulous, entertaining and this is like everything that I would look for in a life partner.” Shaadi squad continues!!!! A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on May 8, 2018 at 2:02am PDT When asked who would he like to play him if a biopic is made on his life, he said, “Ranbir Kapoor. He is obsessed with my life. He has the passcode to my phone with which he checks my messages, WhatsApp everything. He knows much more about my life than even I do.” And what is Kjo without spilling some beans about B-town's actors? He went on to say Arjun Kapoor (rumoured to be involved with Malaika Arora Khan) and Kriti Sanon are seeing someone. He further revealed that he is on a mission to find someone good for Katrina Kaif.
