Ever since her resurgence with 2019 hit Bala, Yami Gautam’s career is reaching new heights with each passing film. With A Thursday, which is a spiritual sequel to the 2008 cult hit A Wednesday, the actress has delivered a top act yet again. The film follows a similar format as A Wednesday, where a pre-school teacher (Yami Gautam) takes 16 students hostage and makes three demands to cops (Atul Kulkarni & Neha Dhupia). If her demands are not met, she will kill one kid every hour. © Disney+ Hotstar Director Behzad Khambata, who made his directorial debut with the 2019 film Blank starring Sunny Deol and Karan Kapadia, improves manifolds in his second film when compared to his first. He impresses the second time around with a screenplay that engages throughout and the performances that are all stellar. However, it is the writing that suffers majorly. For a thriller, the film is as predictable as it gets and the thrills are missing. Right from scene one, you know as an audience what exactly is going to happen and the narrative rarely surprises in that aspect. At 2 hours and 10 minutes, the film required better editing. Perhaps, a shorter length would’ve made it pacier and maybe thrilling as well. © Disney+ Hotstar There are also a couple of subplots involving Atul Kulkarni and Neha Dhupia’s equation and also Maya Sarao’s character as a journalist’s that fail to work at all and are inconsequential to the main storyline. Having said that, the film still makes for a decent watch due to its performances and intriguing climax. Even though the ending is a bit far fetched, in the overall scheme of things, it works. Coming to the performances, Yami Gautam shines. This is the first time that she was roped in for a film that stood solely on her shoulders and she nailed it. © Disney+ Hotstar Atul Kulkarni is terrific as usual in a character that has a range of shades & emotions. Neha Dhupia plays a character that is similar to the one she played in last year’s Sanak and gives a good performance. Karanvir Sharma is first-rate as Yami’s fiance. There was scope for him to go overboard with his performance but he pulled it off with elan. Maya Sarao is wasted in a half-baked role. Adi Irani returns to mainstream films after a hiatus and is passable. Kalyanee Mulay doesn’t get much scope to perform. Dimple Kapadia as the Prime Minister of India is quite good. © Disney+ Hotstar Overall, A Thursday isn’t even close to the brilliance of A Wednesday but still makes for an engaging and gripping watch. You can give this one a try. View the full article

5 Nostalgic Bollywood Movies Which Are Finally Getting A Sequel This Year
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News
Of late, Bollywood really has been on a big nostalgia trip. I mean, take it the old 90s and 2000s songs that used to be a hit back then or the movies, they are really trying to bring everything back to the current generation with a tinge of something new. © Netflix Now, while we all have been dancing to old numbers once again, we really can't wait to watch the much-awaited sequels of some of the older Bollywood movies that we just loved to watch back then. Here are some of them coming out in 2020: 1. No Entry 2 © Zee5 Salman Khan's No Entry was a laughter fest when it first came out back in 2005. The movie that starred Anil Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Celina Jaitley, and Bipasha Basu was a blockbuster that people still catch up on whenever it's on the TV. Well, Salman just recently announced the sequel to the movie which will be directed by Aneez Bazmi. We wonder if he will bring the old cast back again. 2. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan 2 © Jio Cinema This is big! Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda's iconic double roles in the 1998 Bade Miyan Chote Miyan are unparalleled. However, it looks like there is some crazy star power that could make the sequel successful. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff are said to play the roles in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan 2, which will be based on the characters of the first film. It is also reported that the movie will have some crazy action sequences as well. 3. Bhool Bhulaiya 2 © Tips Industries Akshay Kumar's Bhool Bhulaiyaa was the right mix of comedy and horror and clearly captivated all the fans that watched it. While people may be disappointed that Akshay is not returning as the main character in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the casting of Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Tabu as well as the return of Rajpal Yadav could actually be a really good thing for the film. 4. Ishk Vishq 2 © Jio Cinema Shahid Kapoor's breakout film Ishq Vishk was a wonderful romantic flick that people still love to watch. Now, almost 19 years since the release of the first film, his younger brother Ishan Khattar is set to star in the sequel of the hit film, ensuring that this too could be a rom-com college movie that captivates the imagination of the younger audiences. 5. Krrish 4 © Sony Liv Remember Koi Mil Gaya starring Hrithik Roshan and India's favourite alien Jadoo? Well, it appears that Krrish 4, the fourth instalment in the series might be underway soon after the Covid situation tenses down. This is according to director Rakesh Roshan, who is set to begin shooting the film with Hrithik as soon as things are better. What will clearly get fans excited are reports that the new movie will see the return of the Jadoo to the movies, with the alien really having a big fan following amongst people who watched the first film.
