The shocking news of the demise of legendary cricketer Shane Warne stunned the entire cricketing world. Warne is remembered not only as an extraordinary spin bowler but also as a joyful and energetic man. You will very rarely find a picture where Warne is looking sad. He was always found with that broad and lively smile. Shane earned the respect of all the cricketing nations and every cricketer who has played against him remembers Shane with utmost love and respect. View this post on Instagram Obviously, the Australian cricket team of which he was a member, will always have a special place dedicated to the great Shane Warne. Cricket Australia held Warne’s memorial services at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The service was attended by many former cricketers. Another great Aussie cricketer Andrew Symonds recalled his fond memories with Shane Warne as he had spent a long time with Warne as a teammate during his international cricketing days. Andrew recalled a funny moment when he found rolls of $100 notes in Warne's hotel room. “It was around 49 grand laying on the ground there”. Symonds recalls – “It sort of caught my eye as I went past, just rolls and rolls of money. I said to Warnie, ‘Mate what's the story here? He goes “Oh I had a little win at the casino last night Roy and you know what? Cash is king” you realise how special he was,” Symonds said. Indeed Shane Warne was a special cricketer and a human being. Dedication and taking on challenges were his speciality. The first IPL trophy was lifted by the Rajasthan Royal under Shane Warne’s leadership. He was not only the captain of Rajasthan Royals but was a mentor who helped every team member bring out their strength and polish them. After winning the trophy he took the entire team on a holiday to celebrate and unwind. That shows the character of the great Shane Warne. View this post on Instagram Warne has left us and a void has been created. The world will still move on. Many cricketers will come and go. But the void created by the passing away of Shane Warne will never be filled. View the full article

Shane Watson, the former Australia all-rounder, will be the assistant coach of Delhi Capitals in the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League for the first time (IPL). Watson has an extensive understanding of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rishabh Pant, having played for the Chennai Super Kings under Dhoni and observing Pant closely. Watson was eventually asked to compare the two wicketkeeper-batters, which comes as no surprise. Apart from comparing, Watson also highlighted one similar trait in Dhoni and Pant. View this post on Instagram While talking about the two distinguished Indian cricketers in a virtual press conference ahead of the 2022 tournament, Watson said that it is only common that people like to compare two cricketers in similar roles however, every individual is unique, with their own nuance and set of skills. The Aussie all-rounder said that he understands that in an ideal world, fans and critics could compare MS Dhoni to Rishabh Pant, but in reality, the two cricketers are two very different human beings with very different styles of playing the game View this post on Instagram Watson did draw a few similarities between the two - in terms of the kind of skills they hone. For instance, Rishabh, as a leader, is cool and collected, as he has seen with MS. To be honest, if you take away Rishabh's leadership, you can see how talented he is, Watson reckons. It's astonishing that Rishabh has accomplished so much in his cricket career at such a young age. The Roorkee-born can only become better, and he can only learn from his mistakes. Ricky Ponting was one of the best captains to have led the Australian side and he knew how to get the best of his players, View this post on Instagram The former CSK mega-star shared that he believes Rishabh is surrounded by excellent people and is also capable of becoming the finest version of himself, and anyone who compares his abilities to MS Dhoni does so at their own risk. It is critical for Rishabh and the Delhi Capitals for Rishabh to be the greatest version of himself. View this post on Instagram The first match of the IPL 2022 season will be played on March 26 between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Delhi Capitals will face the Mumbai Indians in their opening encounter on March 27. View the full article

Virat Kohli, the former captain of Team India, offered a heartfelt tribute to Shane Warne, who unfortunately died on Friday at the age of 52. While on vacation in Thailand, the spin magician died after a suspected heart attack. The cricketing community has expressed its sorrow and grief over the untimely death of the Australian superstar, with Kohli emphasising that life is "unpredictable and fickle" in his tribute. This is when Kohli begins to speak about his thoughts on life, causing fans to see a whole different side of the batter. The cricketer eloquently articulated how we go about our daily lives and believe that everything revolves around what we are doing at the time; all of our problems, misfortunes, and things to look forward to. However, we rapidly learn that life is incredibly unpredictable and fickle. "Life is fickle and unpredictable. I understood the persona and charisma he brought to every conversation that he was a part of. From that, I could understand what he brought on the field as well. He was just an honest man up front,” Kohli said in a short video shared by the official Twitter handle of the BCCI. Warne was the "best spinner of all time," according to the 33-year-old, who expressed his sympathies to the spinner's family and friends. The Australian, largely credited with revolutionising leg-spin bowling, finished his illustrious international career with 708 wickets in 145 Tests.
