  1. Geo News is taking legal action against the culprits and is filing a complaint with FIA to probe who is behind the fake video
  2. A few years back in an interview, Akshaye Khanna had revealed that he was the first actor to hear the script of Dil Chahta Hai and had told Farhan Akhtar that he would want to play the character of Aakash and not Siddharth. Later, when Farhan got Aamir Khan on-board, he too expressed his desire to play Aakash’s role and considering the filmmaker wanted Akshaye for Siddharth’s role, he agreed. Later, Farhan went back to Akshaye and told him about signing Aamir to play Aakash’s role. Akshaye, who wasn’t quite keen to play Siddharth’s character, initially heard the script a couple of times more and eventually agreed to come on board. And as they say, the rest is history. © Excel Entertainment Well, this wasn’t the only time where Aamir took on a character that Akshaye too was in the running to play. Something similar happened a few years after Dil Chahta Hai when Amol Gupte approached Aamir to help him get in touch with Akshaye because he wanted to offer him a script that was eventually made into Taare Zameen Par. Before connecting Gupte to Akshaye, Aamir demanded that he wants to hear the script first. When Amol narrated TZP to Aamir, he liked it so much that he decided to come on board as the lead actor and later even took over the film as director. In an interview with Mid-Day, Akshaye was asked about Aamir taking over Taare Zameen Par, the reclusive actor responded, “[Amole Gupte] was a friend of Aamir's and he had approached him to get in touch with me. He asked Aamir if he could help [introduce him to me, and to make me hear a narration], since he didn't know me, and Aamir and I had worked together in Dil Chahta Hai. Aamir being Aamir said, ‘You know I can't recommend a script, unless I hear it first. If I like it, I will tell Akshaye.’ He liked it [Taare Zameen Par] so much that he ended up doing it! I was once shooting at one of the studios — if I remember right, Mehboob. Aamir was also shooting on one of the floors. I went to his van to say hi. He was like, ‘Oh you know what —this happened’. I said, ‘Okay, no problem.’” © Aamir Khan Productions When Akshaye was asked if he regrets not being able to star in the film, he replied, “I don't think I would have done a better job than Aamir. He was superb. So it was good that destiny took him, instead of me.” Back in 2007, when Amol Gupte was asked about Akshaye being the first choice, he told TOI, “As far as casting is concerned, yes, I wanted to meet Akshaye Khanna initially but Aamir expressed his desire to play the lead and the rest is history.” View the full article
  3. Shahid Kapoor, who is waiting for the release of Jersey, is among the most popular and versatile actors in Bollywood. While he is now happily married to Mira Rajput, there was a time when he used to make headlines due to his love life and linkups with co-stars. Besides ex-girlfriend Kareena Kapoor Khan, he was linked to Amrita Rao, Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra among others. View this post on Instagram While he never confirmed any of those speculations, the Haider actor has openly expressed his love for Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson several times. While appearing in Koffee With Karan season 4 with his R...Rajkumar co-star Sonakshi Sinha, Shahid had talked about his huge crush on Scarlett and even disclosed his 'wild fantasy' for the Black Widow star. During the rapid-fire round, host Karan Johar asked Shahid about, "A rumour about you that you wish someone would start?", to this, the Udta Punjab star answered, "That Scarlett Johansson’s marriage broke up because of me". View this post on Instagram "Oh okay," KJo said after hearing his reply. The host then asked Shahid about his wildest fantasy and he happily repeated the last answer which left Sonakshi giggling. At last, Karan asked, "What would you do with Scarlet Johansson that is your fantasy?" The Jab We Met actor replied, "I would do so many things that everything in her life will just break up because of me.” Karan dropped the question by saying “Oh my god, I didn’t know you were that wild". Well, that's indeed wild. Watch the video here: View this post on Instagram Well, that's in the past now. Shahid got married to Mira in 2015 and is in a happy space, on the personal front. They are parents to two kids, Misha and Zain. On the career front, his next film, Jersey, is slated to hit the theatres on April 14 and will clash with Yash-starrer KGF 2. Starring Mrunal Thakur as the leading lady, it is the official Hindi remake of Nani's Telugu hit with the same name. View the full article
  4. Ishaan Khatter is one of those super underrated fitness enthusiasts who do it because they actually enjoy doing it, and not because they want to create a buzz. Perhaps that's why his name somehow doesn't end up featuring in the top physiques of Bollywood, despite him being a strong contender for the same. View this post on InstagramIn fact, he actually has one of the strongest cores in the industry, along with a set of super defined abs, but he prefers keeping it low-key for some reason. Take a look. View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram While sporting a set of well-defined abs means you have a very low body fat percentage, Ishaan's overall musculature and core strength also adds up and indicates that he is at the peak of physical fitness. His ab training has been a topic of general curiosity in the fitness community, and it looks like we have finally figured out his go to exercise for those ripped lower abs. Take a look at these two videos that he shared on Instagram. View this post on Instagram View this post on Instagram He is doing one of the most advanced level ab workouts here in these videos - both similar, with a bit of variation. What he is doing is called the 'Dragon Flag', and it is one of the best ab exercises there is, if you can do it with proper form. Here is how to do a Dragon Flag, step by step. 1. Lie down on your back and bend your knees. 2. Find an anchor support behind your back to hold on to, make sure it's super stable. 3. Slowly shift your entire weight to your shoulder and back of the neck, and lift up your legs in the air straight up. 4. Keep your legs straight, and lower them slowly without bending your knees for the strict, tough version. 5. Don't let them touch the ground and go up again. You can add variations of your own, depending on how much of your ab muscles you're actually using for the movement. The stricter it is, the more benefits you reap. However, since it's ab training we're talking about, quantified nutrition and calorie deficit is the key, and you can't see your abs even after doing thousands of these if your diet is not on point. All the best! View the full article
  5. Saif Ali Khan is one of the most celebrated actors in Bollywood and is known for his stellar performances. However, the actor has also made headlines because of his bold and controversial statements. He is someone who makes his voice heard and doesn’t shy away from sharing his opinions on all sorts of topics. We as a society still consider *** as taboo and Saif shared his bold views on the subject back in the 90s. In a Cosmopolitan report, Saif gave a very explosive interview to Stardust magazine wherein he gave his bold outlook on *** and how he has never wronged any woman on the pretext of just sleeping with him. View this post on Instagram In the interview, he is quoted saying, "*** has its relevance, but it isn't anything novel. It's been so since Eve tempted Adam. *** has been one of the first forms of communications between a man and a woman. My physical need is as important as my emotional need. I can't separate them although there have been times when my emotions have been least involved when I've been with a woman." He further added, "The woman has always known the equation. I've never said, 'I Love You' to a woman just to get her into my bed. I have ever had to read *** manuals to learn the techniques. My technique is my own. I have always treated my woman with respect. Today, I wouldn't respond to a woman who came on to me. I'm a married man. I wouldn't do anything to hurt my wife. I'd smile and say 'sorry ma'am, wrong number.' I've grown up abroad and lived on my own. I've seen blue films and live shows. The average Indian male is not as exposed to *** as the average guy abroad. That's why the Indian male is frustrated." Back in the days, celebs spoke freely and weren’t scared of the consequences as there was no digitalisation. Nowadays, all the statements by celebs are bashed by the trolls making them think at least thrice before giving any statements. View this post on Instagram On the work front, Saif has wrapped up the second schedule of his upcoming film Vikram Vedha. The movie is set to release on September 30, 2022. Hrithik Roshan and Radhika Apte will be seen in crucial roles. Vikram Vedha is a Hindi remake of the Tamil film of the same name, directed by husband-wife duo Pushkar and Gayathri. The 2017 thriller starred Vijay Sethupathi and R Madhavan. View the full article
  6. The topic of nepotism has been an ongoing debate in the industry as celebs like Kangana Ranaut have pointed out that the industry insiders aren’t too kind to people who don’t have filmy background or connections. Bobby Deol, however, has a very different point of view as he feels that it’s not a star kid’s fault that he is born in a filmy family and he being an insider didn’t get any acceptance or validation from the audience for years. View this post on Instagram In an interview with Pinkvilla, Bobby shared his views on nepotism and said, “I think it exists in every profession, not just movie business. It has been there always. I think it is not the fault of the kids who grew up in a family who were in the same business. They did not choose to be born in the family. Then every parent's duty is to bring their child up in the right way, educate them and then when a profession they choose, support them. Sometimes, a doctor’s son would want to be a doctor, or his father would want him to be a doctor, similarly an actor’s son might want to be an actor. I feel struggles and opportunities come equally to everyone. Yes, definitely, if you are from the movie business, the first movie is easier to get but that doesn’t mean that the one movie would make your career. No. Eventually, it is your work which will speak for you and if you are good, people will want to work with you and that’s how my career was built." View this post on Instagram He continued, "I was a Deol when I was launched but then I had my own identity as Bobby. I guess even though I am an insider, I am still struggling. I am not saying it is easier or not easier for an insider or outsider, I think it is just that the population is so large and people are trying different professions that it is difficult to get many opportunities. It is also luck that comes into factor. Not everyone gets a chance to play cricket." We completely agree with his viewpoints as it’s more to do with the audience accepting the actor and it doesn’t matter if he or she has connections in the industry or not. On the professional front, Bobby was appreciated for his character in Prakash Jha’s OTT debut Aashram. The MX Original Series exposes the dark reality of the world of self-made godmen. Bobby shed his urban guard and picked up a weirdly perfect accent that seemingly fits a dhongi baba. He completely transformed himself into a con godman by lifting all the mannerisms of one, and his efforts are for the world to see. View this post on Instagram It was his acting skills that made people appreciate him and not his filmy family tag. View the full article
  7. Ayushmann Khurrana's incredible physical transformation for Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui grabbed all the headlines, and rightfully so, because look at what this man has achieved! Clearly Ayushmann himself is still really satisfied with that achievement, and shared a behind the scene video of the same, where his body is being massaged. Take a look at it here. 8. Sometimes people get so attached to a reel life character that anything that happens to their real life version affects their fans in equal measure. The cast of one of the longest running shows on Indian television, Taarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chashma’s lead character Jethalal, also enjoys an insane amount of love from fans. Actor Dilip Joshi, who essays the role, shared a glimpse of his real life daughter’s wedding on social media and it ended up making his fans extremely emotional and happy for him. 9. Being a celebrity, one needs to be extra careful of what one talks about. By the virtue of being in the public eye, your words reach a larger audience and thus have an echoing effect. Actress Shilpa Shinde, who is famously known for her stint in Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai and who won the hearts and the title of the 11th season of Bigg Boss once had to pay the price of being a TV personality. Shilpa had accused people of maligning her social image by leaking an MMS which showed a woman who was her look-alike, in a compromising situation. © Colors She shared the link to the video to prove a point that it was not her but what was supposed to be a responsible act on her part, ended up being an irresponsible act in the eyes of people on the internet. “Plz see this u will get to know. Jinhe koi kaam dhanda nahi hai woh logo ki zindagi iss tarah se barbaad karne ki koshish karte hai. Yeh hai woh original ladki ka video jo Shilpa Shinde Ka MMS leak hua hai, aisa bola ja raha hai” she tweeted. Soon, she got trolled for posting the link and also bringing another woman’s identity in the limelight. Actress Hina Khan, who was also a fellow contestant, bashed her on Twitter. Sad..anyone’s fans or regular trolls may get away by saying anything on SM but as a public figure we get a power to be able to reach to millions with just one tweet and at least we should be very careful n responsible. Specially in these times, real life is not a reality show ! https://t.co/T4mro52L5t — Hina Khan (@eyehinakhan) April 21, 2018@ShindeShilpaS whatever happened with u is unfortunate n u hav a right to Spk abt it but I ask u, do u hav a proof of consent of the woman in ths video tht u can post it? If she’s the imposter u claim why don’t u go Legal instead of promoting porn on Sm being a responsible celeb? https://t.co/o04BUqh4Kf — ROCKY (@JJROCKXX) April 21, 2018Well, the move was not justified because in order to prove her point, she made another error. 10. Katrina Kaif is reportedly all set to tie the knot with Vicky Kaushal this week and the couple is already in Jaipur, Rajasthan with close friends and family members for their destination wedding. There had been several unconfirmed reports of Katrina’s wedding with Vicky for months now as the two have still not made their relationship official. For Katrina, this wasn’t the first time that the reports of her wedding were doing the rounds. Earlier, when she was in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, there used to be similar reports every now and then. In fact, back in 2015, Ranbir, for the first time, had opened up about his relationship with Katrina and had even shared their marriage plans. View this post on Instagram He had told Anand Bazaar Patrika that he and Katrina have planned to get married by the end of next year (2016) and that it was about time he opened up to the media about his relationship and marriage plans with Katrina. He had said, “This year both of us are extremely busy, so there won’t be any time for the marriage. We have planned to tie the knot by the end of next year. Both of us have agreed on that.” He had further added, “Both of us are sure about our relationship and if we don’t open about it now, it would be showing disrespect to the relationship. I am 33 now and it’s time I have my family. Even Katrina wants that. I have grown up in a family where film is everything. So I know the importance of gossip and my funda is simple. When there is gossip, try not to react and it is advisable not to think too much about yourself.” A few months after this interview, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif called it quits. Later, Ranbir went on to date Alia Bhatt. View this post on Instagram In 2018, Katrina had talked about her marriage plan that didn’t work out. She had told Mumbai Mirror, “It was on my mind but it didn’t work out and you have to keep following the path set for you in life. I don’t stress about it now. I fought that battle and am at peace with the fact that some things didn’t turn out the way I had hoped for. Now, I’ve left it to the universe and to God because I’m sure there’s a bigger hand that shapes your destiny.” View the full article

  12. Growing up watching Bollywood movies we may not have necessarily understood how filmmakers propagated some stereotypes which weren’t healthy for society like glorifying fair skin and promoting unfair practices of racism. Cut to 2021, nothing much has changed as we still see the use of casual racism in Bollywood movies. Nawazuddin Siddiqui has bluntly called out the prevalent racism in the industry in a recent interview with an entertainment portal. Speaking about his Serious Men co-star Indira Tiwari, Nawazuddin told Bollywood Hungama, “Sudhir saab has immense knowledge about cinema, and his thought process is very practical. He cast her as the heroine, and I can guarantee you that there is so much racism in our industry, I will be very happy if she is cast as the lead again. Sudhir Mishra did it, but what about the head honchos in charge? More than nepotism, we have a racism problem.” View this post on Instagram He continued, “I fought against it for many years, and I hope that dark-skinned actresses are made into heroines; it's very important. I'm not even talking about skin colour; there is a bias that exists in the industry which needs to end for better films to be made… I was rejected for many years only because I'm short and I look a certain way, although I can't complain now. But there are so many other great actors who fall prey to this kind of bias.” Not just Nawaz, there are many other Bollywood celebs too who have faced racism and shared their accounts. Manoj Bajpayee View this post on Instagram Manoj Bajpayee has tasted commercial success now but he has also faced racism in his career. He played the role of a prince in the 2001-film Zubeidaa. He once said, “Despite the rave reviews I got for my performance in the film Zubeidaa, a critic said that I don’t look like a prince. That really hurt me.” Adil Hussain View this post on Instagram Adil Hussain has also been subjected to such biases because of his dark skin and the cultural difference as he is from Assam. In an interview with HT, he said, “I think such biases can be best addressed by art. Cinema is an art form that can influence mindset. So, we must become the moral compass of the society and help evolve for the better over these biases against fair, dark, LGBTQ, dwarfs, etc. We sometimes crack jokes on such issues because we’ve normalized them. We need to create enough awareness and representation on the screen.” Dhanush View this post on Instagram Bollywood has always had bizarre stereotypes about people from the southern part of India and Dhanush too faced it when he played the role of a Banarasi roadside romeo in Raanjhanaa. In an interview, he had said, “I was told the hero has to be fair and good looking as that is what the audiences want today, particularly in North India.” Rajkummar Rao View this post on Instagram Rajkummar had shared that he was rejected because he wasn’t good looking and muscular enough to become a lead hero. He told DNA, “When I was looking for work in Mumbai around seven years back, I used to look different from what I look today. I did an audition for a director who was making his debut film (I won’t name who he is). He really liked my test but told me, ‘Acting is fine, but I can’t give you a lead part because leading heroes are supposed to be fair and muscular. But do you want to play a small character in my film?’ I didn’t do his film because I couldn’t agree with his theory of filmmaking.” Ranveer Singh View this post on Instagram Ranveer Singh also faced flak for his looks in the initial days of his career. In a report in DNA, Ranveer Singh was quoted saying “Initially, I faced rejection based on how I looked and not so much because of my ability. I was told that I wasn’t very good-looking or conventional. Maybe I wasn’t fair or tall enough.” Not just male actors, female actors like Bipasha Basu, Sonam Kapoor, Nandita Das, Priyanka Chopra and Frieda Pinto have also shared their accounts of how they faced racism in the industry. It's about time such tropes are let go of for good and mainstream Hindi cinema to become more inclusive. View the full article
