  1. Often, cricketers taking part in the PSL have showed respect to each other on the field despite being in opposing teams
  2. Bollywood, more often than not, showcases the most unrealistic and unattainable things in life that are just not that relatable to the average person. The over the top romances and plot points is just too far removed from the normal world. Which is why seeing some relatable content once in a while is pretty great, and it brings down the unattainable aspect of the movies within reach. While there are a lot of movies about families and sanskaars, there are a few lighthearted and deep movies about dysfunctional families that we could see some of our families in: 1. Dil Dhadakne Do © Excel Entertainment No, I'm not saying that a lot of people can relate to the extremely rich business family from Delhi who can easily afford to take 15 close friends of a luxurious vacation, but deep down, the Mehras are just like any other desi family. Marrying off the daughter when she reached a certain age? Check. Handing over the family business to the son, not caring if he actually wants it or not? Check. Fixing your kid's marriage on the basis of a business deal? And, check. © Excel Entertainment While the problems they had came from a very privileged place, overall, this family drama had something that people could relate to and calling them dysfunctional would be an understatement. 2. Kapoor and Sons © Dharma Productions A proper family drama about one of the most dysfunctional families in Bollywood. The movie works because of the interesting storyline and how it's portrayed. The conflict between brothers because of parents seemingly favouring one over the other, the parents struggling because of an extra marital affair, the family coming to terms with one son's homosexuality - these are all very real conflicts that can be found in a lot of families and the story was supported on screen by brilliant performances. © Dharma Productions Moreover, there is nothing cooler than Rishi Kapoor playing a 90-year-old who smokes weed with his grandsons. 3. Piku © Yash Raj Films The quirky movie was truly a breath of fresh air for Bollywood and Piku's relationship with her over-the-top father makes for a really great movie. We all love our parents, even when they get on our last nerves with their antics and this movie managed to perfectly portray a real father-daughter relationship. © Yash Raj Films The best part about the movie is that even though it has some of the biggest names in Bollywood in the lead, the unique setting and story is what makes this movie so much more special. 4. Dear Zindagi © Red Chillies Entertainment Again, a different movie than the typical romance stories, Dear Zindagi did help fight against the taboo that is mental illness. (Which may or may not have sadly been undone this year) While the movie doesn't exactly focus on Kaira's family, it does show how due to her not having a healthy and nurturing upbringing, she faces so many emotional problems as an independent adult. © Red Chillies Entertainment All dysfunctional families are not quirky and this one made a poignant point of showing that seemingly harmless things can mess up a person a lot. 5. Vicky Donor © Rising Sun Films All I have to say is that I will die for Vicky's mother and grandmother. The unconventional family has the bahu and saas sharing pegs and breaking societal norms, in a way. The entire movie was so different but Vicky's hilarious family steals the show, especially during his wedding with an entire 'car-o-bar' going on outside. View the full article
  3. It has been well over a year since Avengers: Endgame came out and nerdy fans and Redditers are still in awe of how it was the end of an epic era of superhero films. Sure, over the years, we formed a sense of belonging with the actors who brought some of our favourite comic book characters to life on screen and the exponentially improving graphics with every movie made the viewing experience a lot more entertaining. However, there were some subtle details throughout the movie that directors and Marvel Studios didn’t necessarily have to do but they did anyway because they wanted the movies to be perfect. Here are five impressive things in Avengers: Endgame that show Marvel’s obsession with attention to detail: 1. Thor Uses Eye-Drop Only In One Eye Before beginning their “time-heist” mission, the team is in the middle of a briefing, familiarising everyone with the Infinity Stones and their whereabouts at specific moments in time. When Thor starts talking about the Reality Stone or Aether, he hydrates his left eye with an eye drop but doesn’t put it in the right eye because it is fake and a mechanical one that Rocket gave him in Infinity War. 2. Hulk Checks If He’s Not Losing It In what is supposed to be the extension of the final scene from the first Avengers film, the team arrests Loki at the top of the Stark tower. Before taking him downstairs, the ‘God of Mischief’ mocks Captain America by transforming himself into Steve Rogers and repeating his lines. All this while if you look at Hulk, he’s stunned by Loki’s transformation and roars in anger once Loki returns to his normal form. 3. “Going For Lunch” When Ant-Man, Captain America and Iron Man go back in time to the Stark Tower to get the Tesseract, Thor from the 2012 timeline can be heard talking to the then S.H.I.E.L.D. boss Secretary Alexander Pierce. Thor says that the Avengers were heading for a “bit of lunch and then Asgard” before asking how Pierce was. This is a reference to the post-credit scene from the first Avengers movie in which the team can be seen eating shawarma in a ruined New York food joint. 4. Mantis Sways In Prayer During Tony Stark’s funeral, when the camera pans around the garden and almost the entire cast of MCU can be seen in one single shot, standing still in black attire, mourning the loss of Iron Man, Mantis can be seen swaying as she stands next to the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy. This was knowingly instructed by the directors as it echoes what an actually praying mantis does. 5. Bucky’s Odd Goodbye To Captain America At the end of the film when Captain America takes on the mission to return all the Infinity Stones but before travelling back in time, he goes to Bucky and says “don’t do anything stupid until I get back” and hugs him. Bucky in turn says “gonna miss you buddy” as if he’ll not see him for a long time, which is odd because Professor Hulk had said that he will bring Rogers back within five seconds. It was later confirmed by the Studios and Bucky knew that Steve wasn’t planning on coming back once he went back in time. View the full article
  4. While we talk about billionaires and all the money they make, we often fail to acknowledge that all this money and the empire they rule over wasn’t always there for them. It took a ton of sweat and labour to get where they are, especially because they started out with nothing at the beginning. Here are five such people who started out with nothing but went on to become billionaires through sheer will and hard work. 1. Laxmi Mittal © Twitter/ArcelorMittal Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal was reportedly born into a humble household near Rajasthan with no electricity or clean drinking water. It took a lot for his father to set up a steel company in Kolkata, but when the Indian government put restrictions on steel production, Mittal decided to take the leap and turn his family’s fate around. At 26, he moved to Indonesia to, as BBC News once said, "established the foundations of his fortune over two decades by doing much of his business in the steel industry equivalent of a discount warehouse." He bought parts of steel companies that were in loss and transformed them into profitable ventures within a year’s time. There was no looking back after. Today he is worth more than 10.6 billion dollars. 2. Ritesh Agarwal © Twitter/techsathinp Ritesh who founded OYO Rooms at 19 and became India’s youngest millionaire at just 22 is now India’s youngest billionaire despite losing Rs 3,000 crore this year. But things weren't always so high-flying for him. Being from a small town and a family of limited means, Ritesh had taken to selling sim cards as an eighth grade student. As a grown up, he joined college only to drop out soon and launch his own venture which would help him realise his entrepreneurial dreams. What started out as a budget accomodation portal Oravel Travels in 2012, went on to become OYO Rooms in 2013 after Ritesh’s business model won the Thiel Fellowship and a grant of $100,000. Today, OYO needs no introduction, while Ritesh’s current net worth is around Rs 4,500 crore. 3. Dhirubhai Ambani © Twitter/Reliance Group Another business tycoon who showed all of India how business is done is the late Dhirubhai Ambani. Born into a simple family in Junagarh, Gujarat, Dhirubhai’s father was a village school teacher but that didn’t stop him from exploring his entrepreneurial skills while he also tried his hands at a number of odd jobs to make some extra bucks and help his family’s finances. Eventually, at the age of 16, Dhirubhai moved to Yemen to work as a gas station attendant. After having stayed there for a decade, Dhirubhai moved back to India and started his own textile company in South Mumbai which would go on to become the first office of the Reliance Commercial Corporation. The rest is history. 4. Shiv Nadar © BCCL Often called the original Make in India guy, Shiv Nadar’s journey to becoming the frontrunner in India’s IT industry needs no introduction. He was born in a small village called Moolaipozhi in Tamil Nadu but given his devotion to good education and a knack for business, Shiv Nadar was able to begin his independent venture Hindustan Computers limited from a barsati in Delhi back in 1976. With an investment of Rs 1,87,000 from a previous joint venture, he was able to expand HCL in the next four year and in 1980 ventured into the international market with the opening of Far East Computers in Singapore to sell IT hardware. It generated Rs 1 million revenue in the very first year while HCL continued to dominate the Indian market. Today the man is worth 21.5 billion dollars. 5. Byju Raveendran © Twitter/Shubham Raj At just 39, Byju has been declared one of India’s youngest billionaires by Forbes this year. The founder of the online learning app BYJU’s may have been in the news lately for bagging massive fundings to expand the company, but his life journey hadn’t been so high soaring since the beginning. Born and brought up in Azhikode village in Kerala’s Kannur district, Byju attended a Malayalam-medium school where both of his parents worked as teachers. School and college went smoothly, until Byju landed a job as an engineer abroad. It was once while he was in the country for his vacation that fellow friends and CAT aspirants discovered his easy and effective teaching skills which went on to become the BYJU’s we all know today. It’s India’s leading e-learning platform with millions of users who engage with it on a monthly basis. View the full article
  5. It has been eight years since The Dark Knight Rises - the final chapter of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy - was released, bringing one of the finest superhero series to an end with audiences begging for more. And even though Marvel Studios have taken over the genre ever since, no trilogy gets even close to what Nolan and Christian Bale created between 2005 and 2012 (Captain America trilogy is a distant second, though). We have talked about some of the films’ major points like great villains, cinematography and script-writing that made them so phenomenal, in the past. But rewatching the masterpieces brings out a lot of tiny and interesting details even today. Here are five things Christopher Nolan did in the Batman Trilogy that prove his obsession with attention to detail: 1. Harvey Dent Entering Maroni’s Car © Warner Bros Let’s start with one of the most mind-boggling ‘attention to detail’ tasks Nolan did while shooting the second installment of the series, The Dark Knight. In the scene, Harvey ‘Two Face’ Dent plans to kill Gotham’s mob boss Sal Maroni inside his car. © Warner Bros © Warner Bros Instead of showing Dent unrealistically waiting for Falcone inside his own car, Nolan manages to show Dent knock out one of Maroni’s thugs at the extreme left corner of the screen for less than a second and then Harvey can be seen entering the car in the rear-view mirror. Check out the complete scene here: 2. Sharp Glass Joker Used In The Police Station © Warner Bros Ever wondered how the Joker managed to get hold of a glass shard, point it at one of the police officers’ neck and get his phone call which led to the death of Rachel Dawes? Nolan ensured that the scene maintained continuity and he did so by showing Batman lose his cool and slam the Joker against the glass window with sharp pieces of glass falling right next to him. Check out the scene here: 3. Bane Mirrors Batman’s Fighting Style When Batman fights Bane for the first time, he’s absolutely dominated and literally gets his back broken too. Surprised by how Bane knows all his tricks and could read his next move, Bruce starts throwing his punches wildly. During the fight, Bane says: “You fight like a younger man, with nothing held back. Admirable but mistaken.” Later in the film when Batman returns to Gotham and breaks Bane’s mask during a fist fight, a surprised and desperate Bane fights the same way, trying to knock out his enemy with one punch, smashing the pillar that came in his way and Batman finally gets the upper hand. 4. Bruce Wayne’s Scar On Left Hand After getting the better of Scarecrow in the first scene of The Dark Knight, Bruce returns to his batcave where Alfred stitches a wound he incurred on his left upper arm due to a “big dog” bite. To maintain continuity in the next film, Nolan ensures that the scar still shows in the next movie when Bruce is wearing a black half-sleeve T-shirt. 6. Joker Keeps The Gun’s Hammer Locked © Warner Bros The hospital scene in which Joker brainwashes Harvey Dent to become Two-Face, at one point, Joker dares Harvey to choose whether he lives or dies. He asks Harvey to flip the coin and shoot him in the head if “chance” isn’t in his favour. © Warner Bros The Joker puts Harvey’s hands on the trigger of the gun and places the barrel on his own forehead. What Harvey as well as the audience failed to see is that the Joker keeps the hammer of the gun pulled which would make it impossible for Dent to press the trigger even if he wanted to. 6. These days, social media is being criticised for getting too toxic, adversely affecting the mental health of individuals, both celebrities and common people alike, and becoming a breeding ground for unnecessary hate. While all of the above are a hundred per cent true, there have been moments when Indians came together and used the ever-evolving internet for a greatest cause to show support towards someone who truly deserves it. Here are five times when the Indian social media showed how powerful & influencing it can be when needed: 1. CBI Probe For Sushant Singh Rajput’s CaseSupreme Court directs CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. Truth must prevail. #CBITakesOver — Manoj Joshi (@actormanojjoshi) August 19, 2020 When the news of actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death first broke, people from all over the country were in disbelief. The story of such a talented, A-lister, taking his own life didn’t quite make sense. Unlike many other movements related to a social cause that lost momentum within a couple of weeks since the incident, Indian social media continued to demand a CBI probe in this case. Finally, on Wednesday, the Indian Supreme Court validated the ongoing CBI investigation recommended by the Bihar government. 2. Gaurav Taneja’s Fight Against AirAsia’s Safety ViolationToday I have been officially suspended from @AirAsiaIndian for standing up for safe operations of an aircraft and its passengers.@AwakenIndia #SabkeLiye — Gaurav Taneja (@flyingbeast320) June 14, 2020 In June 2020, AirAsia sacked whistleblower pilot and YouTuber Gaurav Taneja who had alleged violations of safety norms by the low-cost airlines. Taneja had tweeted that he was being suspended "for standing up for safe operations of an aircraft and its passengers". Capt Manish Uppal and Mukesh Neema from @AirAsiaIndian are suspended by @DGCAIndia for safety violations and risking people lives for profits. All the “safety experts” who were acting as PR agents of @AirAsiaIndian , you are caught with your pants down. #AirAsiaIsUnsafe — Gaurav Taneja (@flyingbeast320) August 10, 2020 After two months of Taneja’s battle against the airline, raising awareness about the issues that were being brushed under the carpet and publicising cases and allegations towards their potential safety hazards on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) suspended two senior executives of AirAsia India for a period of three months over "safety violations". 3. The Anti-Nepotism Movement#VarunDhawan No matter what happened Boycott means boycott have no res6foe this Nepotism and Bollywood . pic.twitter.com/JSszqGbbVA — SushantSignRajput (@sushantsignrajp) August 14, 2020 While the problem of Nepotism in various industries has been rampant and every once in a while, someone would talk about it on the internet, the death of Sushant Singh Rajput also led to the anti-nepotism movement, specifically in the Indian film industry. From boycotting movies full of star kids to highlighting some of the great talents who didn’t come from a family of actors nor had a godfather in the industry, the Indian social media brought about a massive change in the way we used to watch Bollywood movies. The ‘Made in China’ BoycottBCCI officially suspends title sponsorship deal with Vivo for #IPL2020https://t.co/atK3VpnIoJ pic.twitter.com/RineZ1IHq7 — Times Now Sports (@timesnowsports) August 6, 2020Ever since the brutal clash between the Indian and Chinese forces in Galwan Valley, Indian citizens have relentlessly promoted the idea of using Indian products and services while moving away from consuming goods that have been made in China. From the Indian Premier League suspending Chinese technological company VIVO as their brand for the season to a significant drop in Chinese smartphone share in the country, the boycott seems to be working. 5. Protest Against Exams During COVID: Are NEET and JEE exams getting postponed? While everyone is required to stay home and work, why to put student life at risk and not wait for situation to get a bit normal? — Bhuvan Bam (@Bhuvan_Bam) August 20, 2020 One of the recent issues being discussed online is the need to postpone competitive examinations under the extreme conditions caused due to the coronavirus pandemic. Exams like JEE and NEET decide a person’s future. To put the health of the students at risk certainly isn’t the way forward. Request to postpone the JEE & NEET exams by the majority of the students is not merely an excuse but the genuine call in current scenario to avoid COVID-19 risks! #postponejeeneet — Ajey Nagar (@CarryMinati) August 20, 2020 This is not an excuse to skip the hard work that goes into preparing for such examinations but a genuine concern keeping in mind the state of affairs in the country, the pandemic and the high-risk factor that comes along with it. While nothing has been decided yet for sure, based on the evidence shared about, the true strength of Indian social media must prevail this time as well. View the full article
  7. The popular belief is that one cannot be on good terms with their step or half brothers and sisters. However, many of us will agree to have come across numerous people who completely adore their half-siblings and share a pretty close bond with them. However, in an industry like Bollywood where every celebrity is always under scrutiny, it comes as refreshing news when we witness Bollywood actors bonding with their half brothers or sisters and changing the popular narrative that half-siblings cannot be family in the true sense of the world. © Twitter HDpopcorns From spending time with each other to genuinely hyping up one another and standing strong by their side, many Bollywood half-siblings have shown us the way forward when it comes to being great friends with their half-brothers and sisters. When He Busted Fake News About Himself © Facebook Ratan Naval Tata In April this year, while the entire country was troubled by the dwindling state of the world economy and the Coronavirus outbreak in India, Mr Ratan Tata, like the responsible citizen that he is, took it upon himself to shed light on another ailment attacking the countryâs well-being - fake news - and cautioned people against being a part of it. The Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group bust fake news about himself which was widely being circulated on social media platforms. The post, containing a picture of him along with a âmotivational quoteâ which the picture alleged were Mr Tataâs own opinion on Indiaâs economy and whatâs in store for us in the future, caught his attention. Despite the quote not being harmful or misleading, Mr Tata took to his Twitter account to clarify that, âThis post has neither been said, nor written by me. I urge you to verify media circulated on WhatsApp and social platforms. If I have something to say, I will say it on my official channels. Hope you are safe and do take care.â This post has neither been said, nor written by me. I urge you to verify media circulated on WhatsApp and social platforms. When He Publicly Shared His Take On Nepotism & How It Affected Him © BCCL During his interview with Humans of Bombay in February this year, Mr Tata revealed that when JRD Tata decided to step down from his position as the Group Chairman, and the Chairman of Tata Industries as well as Tata Sons in 1991, he was met with âvicious criticismâ. And since there were no other aspirants for that position other than Mr Ratan Tata, âthere was quite a vocal set of issues, of him having made the wrong decision...the criticism was personal -- JRD got clubbed with nepotism and I was branded as the wrong choice.â However, like the confident and honest man that he has always been, Mr Tata took it all with a pinch of salt and did what he had to do to uphold JRD Tataâs hopes for himself. âIâd been through this before, so I did what I knew best -- maintained a dignified silence and focused on proving myself.â Read about his entire experience here. 5. Times He Looked Out For Abandoned/ Needy Animals © Flickr Caring for fellow humans and extending a helping hand isnât the only thing Mr Tata feels strongly about. He is equally passionate about the lives of animals and the âvoicelessâ. From speaking up about the atrocities they face, to finding forever homes for abandoned or needy dogs, Mr Tata tries his best to do his bit when it comes to raising awareness and making a difference in their lives. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@ratantata) He supports many animal shelters and NGOs apart from personally urging people to adopt strays and abandoned pets. View this post on InstagramAfter having changed families multiple times, âSurâ no longer has a family to look after her. 9. Bollywood actors have time and again surprised us with their brilliant acting skills but it's not just acting that make them so well-established in the industry. These actors are multi-talented and have proven their prowess in a lot of other fields for example direction, production and in some cases, even writing a film as well. Here's a list of actors who actually turned scriptwriters for movies and showed us that talent has no bounds. 1. The Girl In Yellow Boots By Kalki KoechlinA movie that was highly acclaimed in Toronto and Venice Film Festivals, Kalki had turned scriptwriter for That Girl In Yellow Boots. Even though the movie failed to strike a chord with the audience, her dexterity with acting was highly lauded. 2. Satte Pe Satta By Kader KhanKnown for his exemplary comedy back in the 90s, Kader Khan had not just tickled our funny bone but also had a hidden talent of writing good scripts. He penned down the storyline, not for one but many movies that include Coolie, Toofan, Agneepath, Yaarana, Mahguru and a few others. 3. Ghayal Once Again By Sunny DeolSunny Deol's Ghayal was a massive success in 1990 but the actor came back with another hit Ghayal Once Again, where he wasn't just an actor or the director of the film but he also indulged himself into writing the whole plot with the help of other writers for the movie. That's what we call multi-talented! 4. Mukkabaaz by Vineet Kumar SinghActor Vineet Kumar Singh impressed us with his stellar acting in Ugly and Gangs Of Wasseypur. But he didn't limit his skills to just that and took to writing for Anurag Kashyap's movie, Mukkabaaz. He was also the lead actor and this sports action movie was quite well-received. 5. Shahenshah By Jaya BachchanNot many people know this but Shahenshah was the reason why Amitabh Bachchan's career soared high and it got back the lost fame, courtesy his wife Jaya Bachchan, who was the scriptwriter for Shahenshah. 11. Though the world of Bollywood celebrities appears hunky-dory, it is also a mix of a truckload of controversies sometimes. Then be it affairs or relationships, when it comes to love even these celebrities have dealt with the thick and thins of relationships. While on the other side of the spectrum we might assume that they are able to handle everything, in some cases even they have spoken out loud about their breakups. Here are celebrity statements that show love is indeed a hurtful journey, sometimes. 1. Deepika Padukone © Instagram/DeepuRan_FC Breakups become an integral part of our lives and they teach us so many things as a person. Deepika Padukone, who went vocal about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor, also had to bare it all when she broke up with him. She said in one of the interviews "I was foolish enough to give him a second chance because he begged and pleaded, despite the fact that everyone around me said he was still straying. Then I actually caught him red-handed. It took me a while to get out. But having done that, nothing can make me go back. That ship has sailed. It made me realise I should not be so attached to one thing or a person - after the break-up the fact that I had to pick myself up. I cried a lot after my break-up. But I have become a better person and I thank him for that." 2. Shahid Kapoor © Instagram/DeepuRan_FC Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan dated for a very long time as we all know. But their breakup was not quite seamless. Shahid never discussed things in detail but quoted in of the interviews, "Yes, it was a very trying period for me for almost a month, and it was very clearly a question for me of choosing between my personal feelings and my profession. I had two choices, one was to come back and not talk at all, not go out in the press and not interact with the mediaâ which would save me the pain of answering questions which I am uncomfortable about, or go out there and promote my film which was released in three weeks. I chose to do the latter because I think it was important for me as a hero to be there for my film and I had great faith in the film. So yes it was difficult and uncomfortable but I accepted that as a part of the way things work out here." 3. Sushant Singh Rajput © Instagram/SushantSingh_FC For someone who dated a girl for over a decade, breaking up would not have been easy on him. Sushant Singh Rajput fell for Ankita Lokhande during Pavitra Rishta and they called it quits in 2016 . He said that there is nothing left to learn and the next time he gets into a relationship, he won't make it a big deal. So that if something goes wrong, it does not become a big deal. Fair enough! 4. Katrina Kaif © Youtube It was not just Deepika Padukone who went vocal about her relationship with Ranbir but we also have Katrina Kaif in line who also opened up a bit post her break up. She said that it was a difficult time and she would not want to discuss it and would like to keep in under wraps. 5. Bipasha Basu © Wikipedia John Abraham and Bipasha Basu as well announced their split after 10 years of being together. When she was asked about the failed relationship, she said "No. It was definitely not amicable. No break-up is ever amicable. Otherwise, no one would break up. There are always reasons. Otherwise, there wonât be any break-ups." 6. Illena D'Cruz © Instagram/ Illena D'Cruz Illena was in a relationship with a photographer from Australia called Andrew Kneebone. However, they have now parted ways after being together for a couple of years. She said "I don't get upset. When you are going through a situation like this, you understand the value of your family and friends. It's the same that happened to me. I had my family and closest friends supporting me right through it." Way to go, Illena! View the full article
  12. Plying their trade in a sport that is celebrated and followed across the globe, cricketers enjoy massive fanfare, lucrative earnings and ever-growing fanbase. With money and fame going hand-in-hand for these cricketing stars, the glamour in their life, for long, has been associated with their better-halves. Over the years, the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of cricketers have been deemed as a mere eye-candy for the shutterbugs with the solemn purpose of making the popular stars look good. But, in the world, where gender equality and women empowerment are quite prevalent, cricket WAGs are no longer the so-called good-looking trophies that are subjected to exemplify glamour in the lives of their partners. And, Sakshi Dhoni is a prime example. View this post on Instagramâ¤ï¸âï¸A post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) Married to one of the most popular cricketers on the planet, Sakshi Dhoni, over the years, has been debunking the myths about cricket WAGs as we know it. A perfect combination of beauty and brains, Sakshi is creative, independent and fierce, if need be. While MS Dhoni is known for his calm and composed demeanour, Sakshi doesn't shy away from speaking her mind. Over the years, Sakshi has not only established herself as an independent woman, but she has also proved to be a stellar partner by aiding her husband in times of need. Here's a look at those rare moments: 1. Shutting 'Loudmouth' Harsh Goenka View this post on Instagramâ¤ï¸A post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) In 2017, Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) chose to change the guard in their leadership by replacing MS Dhoni with Steve Smith as their new captain. The move had sparked speculations over a potential rift between Dhoni and the Pune owners, but the rumours gained ground after a controversial tweet by Harsh Goenka, brother of RPS owner Sanjeev Goenka, surfaced on social media. © Twitter "Smith proves who's the king of the jungle. Overshadows Dhoni totally. Captains innings. Great move to appoint him as captain," Goenka said in his tweet before deleting it. The tweet, aimed as a dig on Dhoni, garnered a lot of criticism on social media. And, while Dhoni is not the one to waste his time on fretting over the critics, Sakshi gave a befitting reply to Harsh Goenka for insulting her husband. View this post on Instagram#throwback !!A post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) Taking to Instagram, Sakshi shared a picture of herself where she was seen sporting her husband's helmet in the then suspended Chennai Super Kings (CSK) colours, probably hinting that RPS doesn't deserve Dhoni. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) She followed it up with another post that read: "When a bird is alive, it eats ants. When the bird is dead, ants eat the bird. Time and circumstances can change at any time. Donât devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today, but remember, time is more powerful than you. One tree makes a million match sticks but only one match is needed to burn a million trees. So be good and do good". 2. The Aadhar Controversy View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) A couple of months after he decided to step down as India's limited-overs captain in 2017, MS Dhoni found himself in a spot of bother after his personal details pertaining Aadhar card were shared online. A fan moment that was being cherished by the Common Services Center (CSC) - an agency which helps the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to enrol citizens for Aadhaar - quickly turned into a fiasco after they shared MSD's personal details on social media. © Twitter/@SaakshiSRawat The over-enthusiastic agency posted a tweet through its Twitter handle @CSCegov: "Ace cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his family get their Aadhaar updated at VLE Mariya Farooqui's CSE at Ranchi, Jharkhand." Then Union Law and Information and Technology Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, was also tagged in a tweet which initially seemed like a masterstroke in capitalising on Dhoni's popularity to promote Aadhar services. is there any privacy left ??? Information of adhaar card including application is made public property!#disappointed â Sakshi Singh ?????? (@SaakshiSRawat) March 28, 2017 However, finding the personal information of her husband in jeopardy, Sakshi expressed her frustration on Twitter: "Is there any privacy left??? Information of adhaar card including application is made public property! #disappointed". Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Sharing personal information is illegal. Serious action will be taken against this. â Ravi Shankar Prasad (@rsprasad) March 28, 2017 Realising an error in judgement, Ravi Shankar Prasad promised serious action in the case. "Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Sharing personal information is illegal. Serious action will be taken against this," he replied. Thanks to Sakshi, a detailed investigation by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) saw the entity - which had enrolled the ace cricketer - getting blacklisted for 10 years. 3. Saving MSD From Fans View this post on Instagram#poornabanisoniA post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) For a cricketer who enjoys a massive fanfare, Dhoni, for obvious reasons, often gets hogged by his fans for selfies and autographs. And, while the former Indian captain is well-known for being humble and entertaining the requests of his fans, even he deserves some privacy in public spaces. View this post on Instagram#traveldiariesA post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) While the Virat Kohli-led Indian side was gearing up to take on Sri Lanka in the Test series in November 2017, Dhoni was enjoying his time travelling with family when he found himself in a spot of bother. Boarding a flight, Dhoni was probably craving for some alone time but the fact he was surrounded by people didn't make the task easy. View this post on Instagram#traveldiariesA post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) But, coming to his rescue once again, it was Sakshi whose quick thinking saw her covering Dhoni's face with a blanket as the passengers passed their seats without any knowledge that they were sharing the flight with the Indian cricket sensation. 4. Quashing Retirement Talks With Poem View this post on InstagramHappy Bday to you ! Even words wont do justice as to how you are as a human being ... 10 years i have learnt a lot from you ... and continue to .. thank u for making me see and deal with life in a straightforward practical way .. .. Lotâs of love n also thank u for making my life so beautiful !A post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) For someone who allowed Team India to scale new heights in international cricket, Dhoni has not featured in the iconic 'blue' jersey since the semifinal against New Zealand in 2019 World Cup. Sadly, he doesn't seem to be in the fray for selection in the national team now. Unable to cope with his long hiatus, the Dhoni fans were eagerly waiting for the IPL 13 to see him in action, but even that seems impossible now. Owing to the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the thirteenth edition of the IPL has been suspended indefinitely which led everyone to speculate if it's finally the end of Dhoni as a cricketer. There was sadness amongst fans and anxiousness amongst pundits who all were wondering if they'll ever see the 2011 World Cup winner again on the cricket field. View this post on InstagramSilence !A post shared by (@sakshisingh_r) But, while the answers were hard to find and speculations rife on a sad end to Dhoni's cricket career, Sakshi, in a subtle and poetic way, came to the aid of her husband and gave the fans something to hold onto. Penning a beautiful poem titled 'Silence', Sakshi took a dig at the critics and conveyed that just because her hubby is silent, doesn't mean he's done. View the full article
  13. In 1963, when Vince McMahon Sr. and famous promoter Toots Mondt left National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) to form World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), no one could have possibly imagined, let alone the ambitious duo, that their rebellion would mark the beginning of a new era in the history of wrestling entertainment production. Today, wrestling has come a long way in the entertainment business, capturing the imagination of fans in lucrative pay-per-view events with Vince McMahon Jr. at the helm of affairs. But, despite evolving over the years, WWE still falls short in meeting the expectations of fans when compared with its famous 'Attitude Era'. While the 'Attitude Era' allowed WWE, known as WWF back then, to draw huge numbers in viewerships, successfully defeating their competition World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the TV ratings, it continues to serve fans with some of the memorable moments in the history of wrestling entertainment. From memorable wrestlers, brilliant storylines to pulsating wrestling action, the 'Attitude Era' still reigns supreme in the history of WWE. And, the fact that Kane, out of all the wrestlers, is credited with one of the funniest segments in the history of WWE pretty much sums up how amazing those times were. Making his debut in 1995, Glenn Jacobs, popularly known as Kane, was a pivotal component in the WWF's "Attitude Era" of the late 1990s and early 2000s, defeating the era's 'poster boy' Stone Cold Steve Austin for the WWF Championship in 1998. Today, he is credited for portraying one of the most fearsome characters who took on-screen violence to a whole new level in WWE history. But, despite his menacing character, the 'Big Red Machine', coming out of his character, produced a hilarious performance when he made fun of Dwayne Johnson, The Rock, and Hulk Hogan with their funny impersonations. In 2002, Kane partnered 'The Rock' and Hogan to take on New World Order (NWO) which included Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and X-Pac. Maybe the funniest segment ever featuring Kane. @TheRock and @HulkHogan's reactions are great too! pic.twitter.com/jPUjXMRD8V #WWE #Smackdown â Aaron Rift of NoDQ.com (@aaronrift) April 26, 2020 Ahead of their six-man tag-team match, Kane met his teammates in the locker room and a conversation ensued. âOh here he comes now,â The Rock said as Kane entered the TV frame. Asking the big man if he's ready to dish out some serious beating to the NWO, The Rock and all WWE fans was in for a serious surprise as Kane began roasting two of the most iconic WWE stars on TV. Asking The Rock if he's ready, Kane didn't allow the 'Brahma Bull' to say a word before embarking on an epic rant. âIt doesnât matter if youâre ready,â in typical Rock fashion, leaving him stunned, and the fans around the world in splits. But he didn't stop there. Taking the fun to Hogan, Kane said: âWhether itâs the millions, and millions of The Rocks fans or 20,000 Hulkimaniacs or 20,000 screaming Kane-a-nites, the question is brothers, whatâcha gonna doâ? The Undertaker's half-brother continued to repeat the catchphrase "what'cha gonna do?" as both Hogan and The Rock tried hard to look cool. The video of the hilarious segment was recently shared on Twitter and WWE fans couldn't stop admiring the good old days. Watching someone blossom into a beautiful human after the kind of effect real love can have on them is a visual delight and social media was blessed by one such gorgeous aesthetic in the form of a lovely picture of this 'newly married' couple. Now you're probably thinking why and how a generic couple picture makes any difference during the shaadi season and the plethora of shots already flooding our news feed. This couple is the wonderful 65-year-old Lakshmi Ammal and her husband Kochaniyan Menon who is 67-years-old. They fell in love at an old age home, a place that is usually associated with sad endings for our elders, and married amidst a lot of love and affection. This is what true love looks like, so never let that love go to waste, for it will come back to you one day. View the full article
  15. Tiger Shroff is not your regular fashionista. He is quirky in a way that is understated, yet conspicuous if you know how to look closely. While one would expect someone like him to wear clothes that really show off that hard earned physique, he often does exactly the opposite. He has often gone ahead and wore really baggy clothes that show us his quirky side. He just did it again, by wearing a pair of pants that look like they are 4 sizes bigger. Take a look. (c) Viral Bhayani (c) Viral Bhayani Probably no one else would be able to make such a 'long' pair of pants look ultra cool, like he's doing here. He clearly has a thing against getting pants altered, which we don't get, but he does manage to make it work! (c) Viral Bhayani Don't these pants look like they have their own hypebeast aesthetic going on? The almost monochromatic aesthetic with the varying shades of black and dark grey, along with the shades is perfect for a lazy day out, or even a brunch. Just don't wear them to a dance party where they may just turn out to be a hazard, in case you're planning to emulate a similar outfit. (c) Viral Bhayani All we can say is, probably only Tiger can pull off such an unassumingly quirky outfit, effortlessly so. You do you, Tiger. Also, thanks for letting us know that alteration is overrated. View the full article

  18. One of the biggest, if not the biggest, things you first notice about the movie Joker is Arthur Fleck laughing. His laughing disorder is one of the biggest plot points and the movie managed to perfectly show how his illness affected him, even though he could do nothing to stop and control it. Literally everyone felt heartbroken every time Arthur started uncontrollably laughing at all the bad times leading to a lot of misunderstandings, but there's one man who could understand his pain completely and can relate to this aspect of the character more than almost everyone. The man is Scott Lotan, who lives with a pathological laughing disorder just like Arthur. For the 47-year-old from Virginia Beach, USA, the pseudobulbar affect (or PBA) is a symptom of his multiple sclerosis which causes him to have laughing episodes that can last up to 10 minutes. Speaking to LadBible, he said, "I have had issues with not being served at restaurants and been asked to leave because waitstaff was uncomfortable. Many times if I am out for a drink with friends, there is someone with low self-esteem that believes I am laughing at them and they will try and start a fight." Just like Arthur, he also has to deal with misunderstandings and isolation on a regular basis because of something he literally has no control over. But, these instances were nothing compared to when he couldn't stop himself from laughing during a big tragedy. He said, "We were leaving my engagement party and were hit by a drunk driver. My fiancée died at the scene with my mother's death three days later. I remember being at the scene laughing and being questioned by police. At the wakes for both my mother and my fiancée I would have to separate myself from everyone as I would burst into laughter at times." I can't even imagine how horrible that must have been for him. He added, "I try to be fully aware of myself and I understand that it's beyond my control, but knowing that others think you are a freak and always explaining to people I am not this emotionally void psychopath can be difficult." DC Now, with a mainstream movie showing the illness and portraying it so realistically, people might start being more empathetic to all those who are living with it. Talking about Joker, he said, "I think he did a great job of capturing the inability to stop laughing no matter what the circumstances are. I felt as if he experienced a deep sense of rejection in the bus scene, similar to how I felt during the days of my accident." "It weighs heavy on the mind, people just look at you. You try and explain but they have preconceived notions that you are a drug addict or just a deranged lunatic. I think he captured the feeling of isolation and frustration with the lack of understanding from others. At times during the film, I felt as though I was looking at a reflection of myself," he added. It's honestly so great that the movie has brought focus to this and even if it helps one person in the future, it'll be worth it. Maybe now people will be more understanding and actually not lash out at someone who's 'laughing for no reason'. He added, "The choking comes from trying to catch my breath, desperately needing to breathe. Also, spit builds up in your mouth and as you pull in a breath the spit goes down the wrong pipe. My neck gets really sore and I am moving my head to try to relieve strain and sometimes that cuts off air." Even though this has affected his life, he just wants to put it out in the world that his life is not so 'horrible'. He said, "There are a lot of comments of empathy, and although they are offering well wishes, they also seem to think I am living this horrible life filled with pain and suffering. Just like anyone else I have my ups and downs - sure, at times I laugh uncontrollably, but there could be much worse things to happen. For the most part, it turns into a humorous thing when interacting with my kids." Well, it's great he can actually laugh about his laughing, good for him! Source - LadBible

  21. What can I say? Oh God, I am a mess right now! Anyone who knows anything about me knows I am a Disney nerd to my core, so obviously, anything and everything associated with it instantly become my new obsession. And right now, it's the new trailer for 'Aladdin' that I've been watching on repeat. I remember losing my sanity when the first trailer had dropped last month, as we got the first glimpse of a lot of major characters including the oh-so-fabulous Genie. via GIPHY The new trailer, which arrived last night, finally showed us more than a glimpse of Aladdin, Jasmine and Genie and was almost a confirmation of how magnificent this movie is going to be. So, here are 10 moments from the new trailer that have only whetted my appetite for the movie: 1. Princess Jasmine In All Her Finery via GIPHY The trailer opens with Jasmine walking down the palace stairs with Rajah, her faithful pet tiger, right behind her. Yes, she is beautiful and looks very regal indeed, however, my only point of concern is that pink outfit. I know, I know, I should not compare it frame-by-frame with the original version, but I can't help it. The Jasmine I know wears blue and has long, flowing hair that can leave Rapunzel green with envy. But…let's see how it turns out. 2. Genie Transforming Aladdin Into Prince Ali via GIPHY Yup, our boy is ready to win the heart of his Princess, with a little help from his new blue friend. Oh, I can't wait to see the full-fledged scene once it hits the theatres. 3. Jasmine Not Looking Very Impressed With Prince Ali via GIPHY Well, Aladdin has successfully transformed into a Prince and is making his way to the royal palace to meet Jasmine, in an out-of-this-world procession. But is it enough? Our Princess doesn't really look that impressed here! 4. Genie Giving Some Serious Gyaan To Aladdin via GIPHY “I made you look like a Prince on the outside, I didn't change anything on the inside. Prince Ali got you to the door, but Aladdin has to open it.” Wow. I mean, I can see this gem of advice being totally applicable in all our lives as well. No matter how we transform from the outside, it's how we are from the inside that matters at the end of the day. 5. “Do You Trust Me?” via GIPHY AAAAAAA! I screamed so hard at this part. It was just like from the original version. Even the voice of Aladdin, played by Mena Massoud, sounds like the one from the animated movie. Now that's a good sign, folks! 6. Aladdin + Jasmine + Magic Carpet = A Whole New World! via GIPHY Sigh…I will not lie, I had tears in my eyes when I heard the first bars of this iconic song. Naomi Scott's (who is playing Jasmine) voice is incredible and Lord, I could also see myself singing this at the top of my voice in the movie halls. Also, did you see that Magic Carpet ride? 7. The Almost-Kiss On The Balcony via GIPHY Pretty sure we're gonna get to see the full smooch when the movie is out, but this was not bad either. The Magic Carpet giving a little nudge to Aladdin to help him make his move is just so incredible to look at. Can't wait to see more of the Carpet, we all know how crucial it is to the plot. 8. Jafar Or Iago Possibly Chasing Aladdin & Jasmine via GIPHY Not really sure who it is at this point, but we get a blink-and-miss shot of a giant red bird chasing our lovebirds, who are trying to escape on the Magic Carpet. Both the trailers, so far, have not really given us a better picture of the evil side of Jafar…who is like, the main antagonist of the movie. Here's hoping we get to see the evil wizard in all his diabolical glory soon.

  24. When it comes to redemption in the domain of style, no one in Bollywood quite had it as successfully as a certain Mr Suniel Shetty. From shabby, ill-fitting clothes during the '90s to being the picture of suavity currently, at the age of 57 (what?), his style game has only improved with age - just like fine wine. What sets him apart from the crowd is his versatility, especially his comfort with pulling off traditional Indian wear as nonchalantly as athleisure. The way he pulls off a dhoti like it's no big deal, is one for the books, and here are 8 times he wore it, rocked it, and showed it why it needs to come back to our wardrobes immediately. 1.
