  4. If you're a 'GOT' fan, then you already know the kind of steam that was being blown towards writers David Benioff and D.B Weiss for scripting a very sad finale for one of the most iconic series in the history of entertainment. © Instagram Angry fans signed a petition demanding the writers rewrite the final season and it should be remade, which is not feasible but oh well, the bleeding hearts of fans hated these guys way too much. Me watching the GOT opening theme and then I see DB Weiss and David Benioff's names #gameofthrones #gameofthronesfinale pic.twitter.com/GKDbPVfUHX — sapphire island (@sapphire_scout) May 20, 2019 If you are as upset as I am about that ending, don't blame HBO... Blame David Benioff and DB Weiss. HBO asked them to make 2 more seasons but they refused so they could hurry up the show and go make their Star Wars movies... HBO's only fault was not firing them... pic.twitter.com/S5Zn2eb67H — Bailey Brunner (@BaileyBrunner) May 20, 2019 So if you're a 'Star Wars' fan then you already know the dreadful piece of information which is giving sleepless nights to serious nerds. The GOT writers' team of D&D have been signed up to take over the 'Star Wars' franchise and give it their personal touch now. Well obviously, people are not taking it in a happy stride and the madness is spilling all over social media. Now they will ruin Star Wars.. #DavidBenioff #DBweiss — gncyvz (@gncyvzz) May 23, 2019 So I'm just gonna boycott StarWars since D&D gave up on Game Of Thrones because of it. Never will I watch another D&D project for what they've done to my favorite show. #GameOfThronesFinale #got D.B.Weiss, #DavidBenioff — Gamericious (@Gamericious) May 22, 2019 I hope the new #starwars trilogy directed by #davidbenioff and #dbweiss sucks. You did #gameofthrones dirty. — bmwgirlm3 (@bmwgirlm31) May 23, 2019 Angry fans have now started signing up a petition(https://www.change.org/p/disney-keep-david-benioff-and-d-b-weiss-away-from-star-wars) where they are requesting the makers to keep the writers away from the 'Star Wars' world. Well, it's not like it will affect the functioning of the business but at least the makers would know how fans truly feel about it.
  5. If football matches are capable of enticing fans, the players' transfers dictate the fate of clubs who're in contention to secure the signatures of their valued assets. At the same time, the transfer windows can turn out to be a heartbreak for some fans, while it can excite others with new joinees. But, amidst all the hullabaloo, a lot of money is splurged by the football clubs to attract their potential targets which further equates to top wages and big-buck signings. While the summer transfer window has come to an end, there is no stopping the high-profile moves in club football. After luring Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid last summer, Serie A giants Juventus have now managed to steal dynamic midfielder Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal. Massimiliano Allegri's side will now be bolstered with the presence of the Gunners star at the Turin-based club. © Reuters The 28-year-old signed a four-year deal with Serie A champions for a staggering 7.8 million dollars per season. In the process, he became the highest paid British Footballer of all time (in terms of basic salary). The Zebras tried really hard to make Ramsey their prey in the January window, but couldn't succeed then. Fortunately, all their hard-work to didn't go to waste as they finally caught hold of him by the end. As per the pre-contract signed by former Arsenal player, he would be joining Juventus in July, after the completion of his contract with The Gunners. The British international hasn't cost Juventus anything because his contract with Arsenal finishes in June. But still, 'as a result of the registration of the player, Juventus will have to pay a wholesome amount of 3.7 million euros ($4.1 million) by July 10.' © Reuters Though the English midfielder was found nowhere near his game this season, he managed to provide mere 3 assists and could find the net just twice in his 22 appearances for the club. Despite all the stats, Ramsey is still considered one of the best midfielders in the PL. And joining forces with Miralem Pjanic, Paulo Dybala and Sami Khedira, could certainly produce some majestic performances for The White-Blacks. Looking at the current situation of the Unai Emery's Arsenal, Ramsey's move to the Serie A club seems like the best option for the three-time FA Cup winner. Let's hope that signing proves to be an asset for the star-studded Juventus line-up and helps them bag more trophies.

  7. In the world of football, Lionel Messi is a name that symbolises immense success and monumental greatness. Regarded by many as the best footballer on the planet, Messi is the only player in history to have won five Ballon d'Or awards. But, that's not all; the Argentine has won 29 trophies with Barcelona including eight La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles and five Copa del Rey trophies. Both a prolific goalscorer and a creative playmaker, the 30-year-old holds the record of most goals scored in La Liga (349), a La Liga season (50) and a club football season in Europe (73), a calendar year (91), as well as those for most assists made in La Liga (137). © Reuters Considering his astronomical records and unbelievable skills, it's only fair for someone like him to boast the tag of one of the richest footballers on the planet. And, if that wasn't enough, Messi is set to add a record-breaking signing bonus to his bottom line. If the media reports are anything to go by, Barcelona is set to offer its talisman a bonus of approximately $100 million just for signing a new deal which is reported to allow the Argentine to bag $650,000 per week. Wait, what? Barcelona's $100-million bait to lure Messi into signing the new deal will shatter the previous record for a signing bonus in the history of football. It further goes on to show how badly the Catalans want to hold onto their superstar, especially in light of rumours that he may be eyeing a move to Manchester City after the New Year. © Reuters Well, Barcelona's desperation to hold onto their star is understandable, but for a club to allocate that kind of money, especially after they've spend 84 per cent of their total revenue on player salaries, is really going to be difficult. But, when you're one of the world's iconic football clubs, everything is possible. In order to pay Messi the staggering bonus, Barcelona is considering selling the naming rights to the Camp Nou, the team's home since 1957. A potential deal would involve 25 years of brand name attachment and raise well over $200 million in revenue. The Camp Nou is set to undergo significant renovations in the next few years, and it could have a new name as soon as next season, breaking a 60-year precedent. But while a number of changes are planned, Messi's new contract will provide some continuity on the pitch. © Reuters Messi's current deal with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of this season, but talks of an extension stalled over the summer while the star forward was helping his native Argentina qualify for the World Cup. Argentina clinched its place in Russia earlier this week thanks to Messi's hat-trick against Ecuador. While re-signing Messi would have been a top priority for Barcelona no matter the circumstances, it became an especially important goal after losing Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain by way of a record-breaking $263-million transfer. Losing both superstars would have been a big blow to the club, who managed reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League last season.
  8. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. AFP/Kirill Kudryavtsev MOSCOW: The Kremlin said Wednesday that US President Donald Trump signing new sanctions against Russia into law "doesn't change anything" as Moscow has already hit back at Washington over the latest moves. "De-facto this doesn't change anything," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Russian news agencies, adding that "retaliatory measures have already been taken". Trump reluctantly approved new sanctions against Russia Wednesday, bowing to domestic pressure and putting efforts to improve ties with the Kremlin on the ice. The US president signed the legislation behind closed doors and away from the cameras, after failed efforts to scupper or water down the bill. Trump's reluctance was on full display in an angry signing statement, in which he called the legislation "significantly flawed". Expecting the signature, Russia on Friday preemptively struck back against the measures after they were approved overwhelmingly by the US Senate. Moscow has ordered Washington to slash its diplomatic mission in Russia by 755 staff and blocked two embassy compounds. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Tuesday he will meet with his Russian opposite Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov over the weekend, but warned that US-Russia ties could still get worse.
  9. Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed with the Champions Trophy The Yorkshire County Cricket Club has confirmed a short-term deal with Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who will be replacing the outgoing Australian batsman Peter Handscomb in the NatWest T20 Blast. Sarfraz is due to arrive in the UK before the end of the month, subject to obtaining a visa. He is expected to play the final five qualifying T20 Blast fixtures for Yorkshire Vikings, as well as any potential knockout stages of the competition. Handscomb will leave the UK after the Vikings? trip to Trent Bridge on Sunday, July 30 in order to join a week-long training camp ahead of Australia?s tour of Bangladesh. ?I?ve always wanted to play county cricket so this is an exciting opportunity for me,? Sarfraz told yorkshireccc.com. ?Yorkshire are a big club with a rich history and huge reputation and I?m proud to be following in the footsteps of other Pakistanis who have played at Headingley like Younis Khan and Inzamam-ul Haq. It?s a dream come true for me and hopefully it can help me become an even better professional.? ?I hope I can contribute towards some victories while I?m there and provide the crowd the sort of entertainment they?re looking for. I look forward to having a taste of the T20 Blast,? the skipper added. Sarfraz looking forward to dream T20 stint with Yorkshire Sarfraz, who led Pakistan to a historic victory in the Champions Trophy 2017, has scored 359 runs in 29 T20Is, at a strike rate of 118.48. The 30-year-old averages 28.03 in domestic T20 cricket, including eight half-centuries. ?Through trying to keep the consistency and balance of the team as it is currently, Sarfraz was the perfect choice for that role,? said Yorkshire Club?s Director of Cricket Martyn Moxon. ?With his recent success in the Champions Trophy, we asked a few people about him as far as his cricketing prowess and all the reports coming back are that he?s an outstanding cricketer both as a keeper and batsman. I believe he?ll fit in well to our structures and will be a success.? ?When we knew that Pete was going to Bangladesh, we started to think about what we could do. ?Do we go with our own players? Do we try and bring someone else in?? We were quite prepared to go with our own players if need be but when we looked at it and enquired about the availability of Sarfraz, it seemed to make sense that we would make him an offer and fortunately he?s agreed to join us,? the director added.
  10. The two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions, Koklata Knight Riders (KKR), suffered an early blow after their star-allrounder Andre Russell was handed a one-year ban for a doping-code violation. Forced to acquire necessary replacements, the Gautam Gambhir brigade roped in Colin de Grandhomme for the tenth edition of the IPL. How is Colin de Grandhomme better then Shakib Al Hassan.. decision to back fire. #ipl #KKRvsKXIP — Nikhil Jadhav (@42nikhil) April 13, 2017 De Grandhomme surely looked like a make-shift replacement and Kolkata fans probably didn't expect the 30-year-old to feature in the playing XI, let alone enthrall them with a sublime performance. But, ahead of Kolkata's third game against Kings XI Punjab, when De Grandhomme found his way in KKR's playing XI, the fans were left wondering who he is really was. Colin de Grandhomme picked up 6/41 on his Test debut, v Pak in Nov 2016. And a wicket in the first over of IPL career today. #KKRvKXIP — Bharath Seervi (@SeerviBharath) April 13, 2017 While some argued his selection in place of Shakib Al Hasan, others were busy unearthing his cricket records on Google. So, in order to save you some precious time, we decided to bring the skeletons out on De Grandhomme. Twitter De Grandhomme had represented Zimbabwe at the Under-19 World Cup in 2003-04, and broke into the Manicaland side in 2004-05 before ascending to Zimbabwe A and Zimbabwe Under-23s, for whome he scored a century against Eastern Province in the SAA Provincial Challenge. But, he soon realised that his future lay outside Zimbabwe. Well bowled, Great start for the debutant, Colin de Grandhomme. Impressive!! ?? #KKRvKXIP #IPL — Praveen Namasivayam (@iPraveenVish) April 13, 2017 A broad-shouldered batsman, and a disciplined medium-pace bowler, De Grandhomme left Zimbabwe for Auckland in 2006 before eventually finding his way into New Zealand's representative teams. In 2008-09, he averaged 54.50 with the bat and 24.19 with the ball as Auckland clinched the State Championship. Twitter In 2009, he was named in a New Zealand Emerging Players team to take part in a quadrangular tournament in Australia. During that season, his figures in the Plunket Shield were again strong, but it was his domestic limited-overs form that left everyone disappointed. Excellent debut from #ColindeGrandhomme #KKRvKXIP #ipl — Sreejith Nair (@sreejith007nair) April 13, 2017 However, a steady show in 2010-11 - where he was part of the Auckland side that won the domestic ODI tournament and clinched the T20 title - resulted in another call-up to the New Zealand Emerging Players team in 2011. Since then, he has scored over 600 runs in a season three times and it was his performance over several years, as much as the rapid 144*, that earned him a T20 call-up. #KKRvKXIP #ColindeGrandhomme great addition to KKR. Looking forward for his batting. — SMH (@grubroot) April 13, 2017 Having earned a reputation as a big-hitting batsman in New Zealand's domestic T20 competition, De Grandhomme earned a debut against his native Zimbabwe in 2012. Despite failing to make a mark on debut, he continued to flourish on the domestic circuit. In 2016, De Grandhomme slammed an unbeaten fourth-innings 144 off 147 balls to lead Auckland's successful chase of 373. His blazing knock got him back into the national reckoning, this time in the Test format. But, more than his willow, it was De Grandhomme's bowling that left his first significant impression in international cricket. Just the single run and a wicket off his first over. A perfect start for Colin de Grandhomme. #DusKiDahaad #AmiKKR #KKRvKXIP April 13, 2017… — Shafran Naizer (@ShafranNaizer) April 13, 2017 His brilliant spell of 6-41 against Pakistan on a Christchurch green-top were the best figures for a New Zealand debutant, bettering a 65-year-old record. #KKRvKXIP #AmiKKR 2 Wkts in 2 Overs. WellBowling #ColindeGrandhomme (He was Unsold in Auction) & Now ClassBowling by a ClassBowler @y_umesh pic.twitter.com/OstloT4rYZ — Suman Dey (@Suumandey) April 13, 2017 When it comes to all-rounders, De Grandhomme is clearly a proven war-horse and worthy of replacing a star like Andre Russell. So, don't be surprised if you see this Kiwi dominate the proceedings for Kolkata against the in-form Punjab today.
  11. After becoming the highest-paid Afghanistan cricketer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in February, leg-spinner Rashid Khan has now notched up a unique feat in Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). It just took a mere 12 deliveries for the 18-year-old rising star to clinch a five-wicket haul in the shortest version of the game. Before him, no one had ever taken a five-for in as little time as two overs in the history of T20Is. The record, though, was merely a byproduct of his ability to vary pace, prey on the pressure the Ireland batsmen felt and then toss up the hit-me ball, which invariably turned out to be a googly that bamboozled everyone. The slogs came, the stumps were broken, the rest became history. Twitter Bowling against Ireland in the second T20I of the three-match series, Rashid dismissed Kevin O'Brien and Gary Wilson on the deceiving googly. In six balls he scalped two wickets giving away just three runs. The leggie came back in the ninth over to dismiss Lorcan Tucker in his very first ball. In the fourth delivery, frustrated Greg Thompson stepped out for the big one, but the googly struck again. In walked debutant Bary McCarthy and LBW it was, to send him back for a duck. Rashid Khan's two overs - 1 1 W 1 W 0 W 0 0 W W 1b Afghanistan beat Ireland by 17 runs (D/L) in 2nd #AFGvIRE T20Ihttps://t.co/ziS6ZhAXTP pic.twitter.com/98U9BYS91c — ESPNcricinfo (@ESPNcricinfo) March 10, 2017 Although Rashid missed his hat-trick, but the leg-spinner claimed a triple-wicket maiden. His sensational figures of 5/3 in just two overs scripted Afghanistan's 17-run victory over the Irishmen. Their victory in the second match propelled Afghanistan's winning streak to 10 matches in the shortest format - a world record for most consecutive wins in T20Is.
