  4. Who doesn’t love an underdog story? It doesn’t matter if we are part of that journey or are mere spectators, we just love whenever a minnow rises against all odds and creates an upset. On Wednesday, we witnessed one such underdog story in the field of cricket which will be remembered for years to come. Bangladesh scripted history by defeating reigning world Test champions New Zealand in their own backyard. A glorious and historic win for the Tigers as they beat the reigning world Test champions on their soil and registered a first ever victory in any format in New Zealand. Photo credit: @photosportnz #BCB #Cricket #BANvsNZ pic.twitter.com/OcC4R4Pwns — Bangladesh Cricket (@BCBtigers) January 5, 2022 Ranked ninth in the world in the longest format, Bangladesh humbled the inaugural world Test champions by eight wickets on the final day of the Test match at Mount Maunganui to register a historic win. Bangladesh have been playing cricket for a long time but they had never won a match on New Zealand soil across all three formats. Prior to this game, they had lost 32 matches on the trot in the picturesque nation. First win in ANY format in New Zealand First Test win against New Zealand INCREDIBLE SCENES Bangladesh make history at the Bay Oval! Test cricket #NZvBAN pic.twitter.com/GffWDcfS8U — Cricket on BT Sport (@btsportcricket) January 5, 2022 Playing without their regular skipper Kane Williamson, the hosts perhaps undermined the visitors, who were coming on the back of back-to-back losses at home to Pakistan, and ended up paying a huge price. Just to put into context, the reason why this result has left everyone who follows cricket in disbelief is because of the incredible home record of the Kiwis. Like most top teams, the Blackcaps have been utterly dominant in their own den. Ebadot Hossain is now our favourite cricketer. One of the 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 post-match interviews you'll watch from a professional athlete He joined the Bangladesh Air Force and played volleyball and now he's just bowled his country to a famous win #NZvBAN pic.twitter.com/CBKquRpzUx — Cricket on BT Sport (@btsportcricket) January 5, 2022 Forget the series, prior to this game they had not conceded a single Test match on home soil in the last four years. Yes, you read that right. This was their first loss in a home red-ball game in the past four years. Now let that just sink in, because only then you can gauge the true magnitude of this historic achievement by the Bangladesh cricket team. © Twitter ICC Just to put into context, when India last visited the New Zealand shore, Virat Kohli’s men suffered a 2-0 whitewash, losing both the game by a huge margin. It was a momentous occasion for Bangladesh and it reflected in their celebration. The official Twitter handle of Bangladesh Cricket shared a video of their players singing and jumping inside the dressing room. Now before you start wondering how they could sing a Hindi song let me tell you that it was indeed that song but the only difference was it was the Bengali rendition. © Twitter Bangladesh Cricket Such victories not only help a team put themselves on the world stage but also inspire the upcoming generation to take up the sport and put their heart and soul into chasing their dream. It gives us hope that if we follow our passion diligently, then sky is the limit. View the full article
  5. A wedding in India is a big deal in terms of emotions, finances and everything that is involved in the process. Thanks to Bollywood, the craze for lavish weddings have gone a notch higher with people opting for elaborate wedding sets, designer clothes and in terms of music, wedding performances by family is a must. For those who have the moolah to spend, calling and flying in a celebrity pop singer is no biggie. Imagine a Badshah or Diljit setting the stage on fire as wedding guests gyrate to their music. Fancy, right? Recently something amazing yet funny happened with a couple when Punjabi singer Mika Singh, along with Rahul Vaidya, decided to gatecrash a wedding and casually walk in to sing his super hit number Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag. View this post on Instagram After he left the friends, the family and the couple surprised, he addressed the gathering and said, “Wedding crash kar ke aaya hoon, uninvited, but I hope you guys enjoyed. I just saw this girl (the singer), she's beautiful. You are singing very good. Main isko abhi Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa pe mila tha, maine socha main hi bol du.” His fans obviously flooded his comment section on the video and requested him to do the same for them. Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag is one of his oldest hits and it was reinvented last year for Kiara Advani’s film Indoo Ki Jawani. View the full article

  7. You’re belting your heart out to your favourite song. Your teammates are cheering you on, while the opposing half waits with bated breath for you to finish, waiting for the last few words so that they can launch their rebuttal in tune. Welcome to the classic Indian family game of Antakshari. Whether you’re family, friend or foe, you will be pitted against each other to see who comes out on top. Antakshari was the definitive glue that brought families together on picnics, get togethers and other special occasions. What better way to take a trip down memory lane than with the evergreen Bollywood classics that we’d sing? 1. Wah Wah Ramji Hum Aapke Hain Koun was a film that was universally adored by family members, and topped everyone’s personal playlist during Antakshari. So it’s no wonder that songs from this movie still remain iconic. 2. My Name Is Lakhan Your opponents will have you reminded that the song doesn’t begin with 1-2-ka-four but the rhythmic “Rum pum pum rum pum pum” instead. That’s when you know winning’s going to be all the more fun. 3. Pehla Nasha “Chahe Tum Kuch Na Kaho, Maine Sunn Liya.” Pehla Nasha oozes nostalgia and romance, so there’s always the chance that the newly married couple would be the center of attention during this one. 4. It’s The Time To Disco A relatively recent entrant to the pantheon of evergreen classics, It’s The Time To Disco is guaranteed to have all youngsters doing the dance steps to the music video. 5. Aati Kya Khandala The bonafide bad boy’s pick. Everyone wanted to be Amir Khan’s Siddharth. They’d even get into character and fake the whole matchstick on the tongue move as well, much to the elder’s chagrin. 6. Ek Pal Ka Jeena This song made Hrithik Roshan every desi household’s personal Greek God. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to do the moves. Antakshari is not just about singing, it’s about getting into character and performing to your audience. 7. Didi Tera Dewar Deewana No surprises here, another classic from Hum Aapke Hain Koun. It wasn’t until I grew up that I realised how cheeky the lyrics were. No list can be truly exhaustive of all the songs that made Antakshari a household affair, and that's part of what makes it so special. Tell us in the comments about your favourites. 8. Due to the pandemic, all the official meetings have shifted to virtual platforms. Even the High Court hearings are being held online, keeping safety precautions in mind. Last night, Delhi HC had a virtual hearing for Juhi Chawla’s plea against setting up 5G in India, claiming it will impact the health of people, animals and the environment. The meeting went viral as soon as it started but it had nothing to do with the suit. What happened is a jabra fan of Juhi barged into the meeting and started singing songs from movies. © Instagram/Juhi Chawla Amidst the court hearing, a man interrupted the judges by singing songs like ‘ghoonghat ki aad me’, ‘lal lal hothon pe gori kiska naam hai’ and ‘meri banno ki aaegi baraat’ from her 90s classics. © Instagram/Juhi Chawla The bench ordered to identify the person (obviously he was using a vague username) and a contempt notice to be issued. They are also tracking the link. Juhi Chawla had apparently shared the link of the online hearing on her Instagram account asking her followers to join and we are guessing that’s where the problem started. © Twitter The whole episode got Twitter in splits. Some people called out Juhi for inviting the people into a legal meeting while some just enjoyed the circus he created. fan to @iam_juhi : Mai koi aisa geet gau ke contempt of court lagau agar tum kahoo!! — Adv. 11. Entertainment is one of the most hyped industries in our country. Bollywood actors are treated as gods in India as well as across the world. So the actors usually venture into almost anything -- from politics to singing to anything that we can think of. The actors own fashion brands to restaurants and sometimes also think that they can sing. However, singing cannot be everyone’s cup of tea. So, here are five actors who thought they could sing but turned out to be the worst singers ever. Salman Khan Sallu bhai sang the song ‘Main Hoon Hero Tera’ for the film Hero and honestly the song was a huge flop. It only got views due to Salman Khan’s popularity. The song was released with a behind the scenes video of Sallu Bhai singing the song and it was majorly dedicated to the craft of singing. Also, the song was auto-tuned which is why we can say that it didn’t do much for the audience. Priyanka Chopra A lot of people consider Priyanka Chopra as a good singer but honestly, her songs ‘In My City’ and ‘Exotic’ were not that great. Both the songs were marketed as Priyanka Chopra’s transformation into a global superstar which did work for them but it was majorly all publicity. If you look at the song’s lyrics they weren’t that great either. Alia Bhatt Alia Bhatt is a decent singer and she sang this song ‘Sooha Saaha’ for her film Highway which was good. But otherwise, there is this video of her performing at the IIFA Awards wherein she tried to rap in Hindi and it was just funny. Akshay Kumar Now, personally, the lyrics of this song aren’t bad but this song isn’t a song that we’d prefer listening to now. Also, Akshay Kumar is literally shouting in the song rather than singing which isn’t how it should be. A better singer could have done justice to the song. Sonakshi Sinha Sonakshi Sinha sang a song ‘Ishqoholic’ and if you don’t remember when this happened then we don’t really blame you. This song just had crass lyrics and disappointed us all and we hope that it stopped existing. View the full article

  13. Rishi Kapoor has bid us a final farewell and has left his fans mourning over the big loss. Social media is flooded with fans expressing their grief and sending condolences to the Kapoor family. Rishi Kapoor breathed last at 8:45 am on April 30. An old video of Rishi Kapoor in the hospital with medical personnel singing a song also started going viral on the internet. Well, the man is seen singing Tere Dard Se Dil Abaad Raha from the Rishi Kapoor starrer Deewana and this surely made the veteran actor all emotional. In the video, you can also see the actor encouraging the man to keep following his passion. View this post on InstagramOne of the medical personnel made this video where #RishiKapoor gave out this beautiful message out to all of us #rip ð¤²ðA post shared by (@viralbhayani)In the video, Rishi Kapoor said, âMera aashirwaad tumpe hai. Bahut taraki karo, safalta prapt karo, mehnat karo. Dekho shohrat, naam, yeh sab aata hai mehnat ke baad. Jab tak mehnat, aur thodi kismat sath degi to apne aap kaam hone lagenge. (My blessings are with you. Do hard work and become successful. See, fame and name come after the handwork. Hard work and a little bit of good luck always help.)" After the video started to go viral, people started to say that they are feeling heartbroken after seeing their legend this way. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani After his demise, Rishi Kapoorâs family has also released a statement that reads, âOur dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last.â âHe remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food, and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how he did not let his illness get the better of him. He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears. In this hour of personal loss, we also recognize the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force. He would not have it any other way,â the statement added. It's indeed a huge loss! View the full article
