KL Rahul's strike-rate was a huge talking point when he was the captain of Punjab Kings in the last couple of seasons. He scored over 600 runs in the last two years but his strike rate was below 140 and that is what cost Punjab Kings dearly as they failed to make it to the playoffs on both occasions. In KL Rahul's defence, his supporters said that Punjab had an inexperienced batting line-up and that is what forced him to play cautiously. Like Punjab, Lucknow too handed over the captaincy duties to KL Rahul. KL Rahul has played three innings so far for Lucknow and while he failed to got going in the first match, he showed his aggressive side in the next match against Chennai Super Kings, scoring at a strike-rate of 153.85, when his side was chasing a mammoth total of 211. .@LucknowIPL are off to a flying start! In his defence, KL Rahul had to take his time as his team had lost three wickets inside the powerplay. However, in the same situation young Deepak Hooda scored at a quick pace and that led to fans having a go at the Lucknow Super Giants skipper. With last night’s 54-run defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS), defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have endured their worst start in IPL history. Before this season, the Chennai-based outfit had never opened its campaign with two consecutive losses. However, the 15th edition has been their worst start to the season. They have suffered three consecutive losses in as many games and it has left them languishing second from bottom in the 10-team IPL 2022 points table. View this post on Instagram Having restricted PBKS to 180 for eight on a batting paradise, the CSK bowlers had done a tremendous job. The onus was on their batters to get them over the line, but all of them, barring Shivam Dube, put up a horrendous show, which included their former skipper MS Dhoni. Half of CSK was back in the hut with only 36 runs on the board and it forced Dhoni to rebuild the innings with a cautious knock. With each dot ball, the required run-rate was going through the roof but the former CSK skipper showed no intention whatsoever and kept on playing a ‘Test’ knock. View this post on Instagram When 107 runs were required off the last seven overs, it was evident that runs were from both ends but Dhoni was in no mood to go through his gears. With each dot ball, the pressure was mounting on Dube and he finally perished after a valiant effort, smashing 57 off 30 balls. The required run-rate was well above 15 runs an over and Dhoni was batting on 11 off 21 deliveries. Watching his knock, it seemed like he was playing on a different surface altogether. He made batting look so difficult and dug up a huge hole for himself. View this post on Instagram More than the defeat, what hurt the fans the most was Dhoni’s lack of intent. It seemed as if he had already given up on the match and was playing to reduce the margin of the humiliation. Obviously, the supporters were pissed at Dhoni’s ‘useless’ knock and they trolled him brutally for his Test-match-like knock. Some fans even joked that through this knock he wanted to popularise the longest format of the game. Warning: This copy contains spoilers about The Batman. Before I'm falsely taken for a Marvel fanboy or as a Batman hater, I want to establish the fact that Batman is one character that I've loved and cherished a lot throughout my childhood. There is something about Batman that sets him apart from the rest of the superheroes, and it's more than the fact that he's a mere mortal who had a hard childhood. I've been fortunate enough to witness a lot of amazing tales of Gotham's caped crusader through the insanely abundant DC Comic books and graphic novels like the Knightfall series, Hush, Batman: The Killing Joke, Batman: The Long Halloween, and Batman: The Dark Knight. © Mansij Asthana This is in addition to Rocksteady's amazing Batman: Arkham games and Batman: The Animated Series, which clearly have had different takes on the origins of Batman and the Bat-Family. © Rocksteady Games © Warner Bros I specify this just to ascertain that, for me, there's nothing more wonderful than to see a new re-adaptation of The Dark Knight on the big screen. Like you, I had been waiting anxiously to witness the new Batman movie by Matt Reeves. © Warner Bros To see Robert Pattinson don the iconic Batman cowl and cape was something that hugely excited me, having been a big fan of Robert's work in films. His history of working in amazing films like Harry Potter, Good Time, Remember Me, The Lighthouse, and The Devil All The Time, made me feel that he was perfect to become the next Batman, an opinion not a lot of people shared at the time. © Warner Bros However, what I saw in the theatres was a massive disappointment, and here are the reasons for it: 1. Meet The Most Talkative Batman Yet © Warner Bros If there's one thing that we know about Matt Reeves' Batman, it's the fact that he sure loves to talk. Be it when he's with Lieutenant James Gordon (not Commissioner yet), the Catwoman, or even while he's all by himself, he just keeps talking. If there's one thing known about Batman from the comics, TV Shows, and even some of the good movies, it's that he's a man of few words. You'll never see him glorifying himself. But unfortunately, that's what he keeps doing throughout this film. Even in the opening sequence running up to his appearance, he can be heard saying things like, 'They Think I'm Hiding In The Shadows. But I'm The Shadows'. Okay. Cinematically, this may sound like a cool idea. However, he keeps coming up with stuff like: 'I Need To Save This City' 'Someone Has To Do It' No. Stop. Do you need to save the city? Yes. But do you need to talk about saving the city all the time? No. 2. Cliched Beyond Belief © Warner Bros This is where the movie truly went south for me. At the backdrop of the movie being shown as something that would challenge your intellect with Riddler's countless Riddles, the plot is just very mundane. Of course, Paul Dano's Riddler does well to create an air of mystery by shedding light on the dirt that lies under the nails of Gotham's famous policemen, judges, and other people at power. However, there are far too many loopholes throughout the film to suggest otherwise. First of all, the relationship between Batman and Catwoman is weird as hell. This is not to mention the fact that she repeatedly refers to him as 'Vengeance' (something he mentions once to a gang of goons at the start). © Warner Bros I swear, for every time Catwoman (Oh god! I could make a better mask out than her) calls him 'Vengeance', I felt like I wanted to push her off the roof myself! Now, getting back to the point of their relationship, Batman literally meets her once, and now he just happens to care a lot about her. "Take Care Of Yourself, Selina", he appears to say a couple of times in the film. Dude! She's Catwoman. She'll be okay. You look after yourself! I get it. The movie is an attempt to show a more humane part of Batman, who himself is a prisoner to his own fate and past scars. However, that is no way of showing it. Not just that, the scene at the end, where he deliberately jumps onto the loose electric cable to save people underneath has to be the most cliched means of showing that the hero would sacrifice himself to protect others. I mean, Batman could have easily thrown his Batarang to cut the cable without wanting to look heroic in the scene. Also, the one where he uses a flare and rescues people from the water too is something that was too damn cliched from start to finish. 3. Robert Pattinson's Batman Is The Slowest Batman Ever! © Warner Bros Oh boy! One of the reasons why the movie was around three-hours long was the fact that this Batman does everything in slow-mo! Whether it is searching for clues, chasing criminals, or even fighting them while facing a loaded gun, he'll make sure to take his time. Now if you can remember the fight scene at the very end where he's taking on the Riddler clones, he almost deliberately gets shot because he takes way too much time to punch the one trying to shoot him. I mean, that was incredibly stupid considering he's got a city to save from drowning. Not only that, even the time when Falcone is shot in the head by Paul Dano's Riddler, Batman clearly sees Riddler go for the run, but instead of running after him so that he doesn't escape, the Batman stylishly walks towards the apartment, only to find that he's not there. "He's Gone," he says to the police. Yeah, No, Sh*t, Batman! Now, if the Riddler hadn't miraculously tried to surrender himself at the coffee shop, we're sure Batman had absolutely no chance of catching him at the apartment. Batman is a vigilante who strikes fast, and strikes hard, having been trained by none other than Ra's al Ghul, the leader of the League Of Assassins. © Warner Bros Sure! There can be countless renditions of Batman, but Robert Pattinson's Batman is hands down the slowest of them all! 4. The Most Gullible Batman Ever © Warner Bros Okay! Let's establish another fact about Bruce Wayne AKA The Batman! He is a Master Detective, Master Combatant, Master Weapons Specialist, Master of Stealth, and has Genius-Level intellect. Not just that, Batman is of a scientific mind, which means that he believes in nothing other than cold, hard facts. This is what makes him a great detective, an area which Matt Reeves' noir film was set out to explore. However, while we were busy seeing Batman pick up clues and solve riddles left by the Riddler, it was surprising to see him become so damn naive. I mean, of course, it was a big shock for him to find out that his father Thomas Wayne, was also a part of the rotten history of Gotham City, especially considering the reason why Bruce Wayne chose to be Batman. However, it was still shocking to see an anguished Bruce Wayne just walk up to Falcone and ask him about the truth about his father, only to then believe whatever a crook like he had to say about it. If that wasn't gullible enough of Master Bruce, he then happily agreed to change his mind when an injured Alfred had a word with him at the hospital. For someone with the intelligence of Batman, you'd expect a lot better, won't you? Well, unfortunately, we didn't get to see that quite often! 5. Don't Let The Movie Fool You Into Believing It's An Artistic Masterpiece © Warner Bros Okay! There are some great shots in the film, with the moment between Batman and Catwoman on the top of the tower being one of them. As you must have seen on social media platforms like Instagram and others recently, there's much more emphasis on the importance of the use of colour palettes in films to make them appear more aesthetically pleasing. Of course, if the movie looks beautiful, it's always a plus. But what is not okay is to put so much emphasis on it that it starts affecting the movie adversely. This is what I think happened with The Batman. Now, while the continuous rainy, dark, and dingy landscape of Gotham City rightfully painted the truth of it being a place where criminals breed, there were times when it was just overdone. On top of that, the overuse of the Batman soundtrack or other background music in almost every scene, led to the scenes becoming less impactful, something that I'm sure was the opposite of what was intended. Think of this, when the Batman soundtrack comes on the screen, you're bound to get goosebumps. But, in the case of the film, the soundtrack was just used everywhere, with different renditions of the same Batman music being played throughout the movie. If that didn't throw me off, it was the crazy loud levels at which it was played that made it almost impossible to hear anything else. I mean, when Batman is dodging bullets and punching the villains, you'd want to hear that, right? Well, Matt Reeves was of a different opinion! 6. The Stupidest Car Chase Scene Ever In The History Of Car Chases © Warner Bros "Hey, Penguin! I'm getting really angry now! Why don't you get in the car so that I can chase you?" "Oh, sure, Batman! Just give me a minute!" Honestly, I was super psyched about the new Batmobile, having seen bits of it in the previous trailers. And, to be fair, the iconic beast of a car sure did not disappoint. However, it was the 'supposedly cool' car-chase scene between Batman and the Penguin that left a lot to be desired. I mean, while it was a great sequence, it sure felt like a pushed one. If I can recap, Batman was lying on the ground after being shot at during his chit-chat session with Catwoman. Now, while it would have been so much easier to just take on Penguin and the rest of the mob using his fighting skills, Batman just goes and hides into his Batmobile. Now, let me remind you, the Penguin was not even in the car by this time, however, after seeing Batman in his Batmobile, he comically gets into one to run away. © Warner Bros For me, this was clearly a forced action sequence that maybe looked cool, cinematically speaking, but was one that could have and should have been done very differently. 7. Alfred Was Just A One-Dimensional Character In The Film © Warner Bros The casting of English actor Andy Serkis, the guy who played Golem in the Lord Of Rings, as Bruce Wayne's butler, Alfred Pennyworth, was clearly one of the most exciting news that came out back when the movie was still developing. However, just like Rob Pattinson, it looked like the movie did not make use of Serkis' incredible acting ability. Alfred is one of the most important characters in the Batman universe and has a lot of history to him. However, in contrast, the Alfred that we saw in the film was a very one-dimensional one. Yep! As seen in the movie, he really didn't have much of a role. Not just that, some of the things were so un-Alfred-like. For instance, he opens up a letter for Bruce, something that the real Alfred would never, ever do. Not just that, he's then naive enough to actually fall for Riddler's trap for Bruce/Batman. What happens next is even more appalling. We see a scene in the hospital where Alfred talks to a flustered Bruce. Now, we know that there has always been a special relationship between Bruce and Alfred, with the former English Special Forces soldier almost a father figure to Bruce. But that still does not explain the atrocious and almost cringe-worthy scene between the two where they attempt to hold each other's hands. Again, this would have been touching, had they really explored more of their past relationship, but just in the context of the film, like the car-chase scene, this too, was unwanted, unnatural, and extremely corny. 8. The Awful Batman & Catwoman Bike Race At The End © Warner Bros It sure looks like Hollywood has made a big deal of showing protagonists 'go separate ways' at the end of the film. I mean, you can only look back at the very emotional Paul Walker and Vin Diesel scene from the Fast & Furious 7 movie to know that it has worked in the past. Now, while it obviously can be a moving scene that people take back home and ponder upon for days, the scene at the end of Matt Reeves' Batman film was far from it. In the end, it can be seen that Batman and Catwoman have an emotional moment between them before they get on their bikes and hilariously ride next to each other. Now, while this could have been a powerful scene, the way it was carried out, looked comical to me. Also, the way in which Batman's cape just floated behind him while he rode the bike, presented more chances of the Dark Knight getting killed in a road accident than actually at the hands of a super-villain like Joker or the Riddler. To conclude, there were a lot of expectations out of the film, and while many clearly enjoyed the film, personally, I felt, The Batman was very, very disappointing. View the full article

We hear about anti-ageing products. We see anti-ageing products. But do we really use them regularly? The answer is no. Not until we wake up one day and spot some wrinkles already appearing around our eyes. With increased exposure to sun and everyday stress, signs of premature ageing have become extremely common. While ageing cannot be magically stopped, it can be slowed down if you take preventative measures, i.e. start your anti-ageing regimen on time. Here are five face serums for men who want youthful and wrinkle-free skin. 1. Niacinamide & Zinc Serum Niacinamide has many benefits for the skin and slowing down the ageing process is one of them. It helps in minimizing the appearance of dark spots, fine lines, wrinkles and pores. Apply this serum after washing and toning your face and see for yourself. __ECOMPRODUCT__2600__ 2. Vitamin C Face Serum Vitamin C is popularly used to reduce pigmentation, however, it’s also one of the best anti-ageing ingredients. This face serum by Mancode is also infused with Hyaluronic Acid. Together, these two ingredients will help you make your skin more plump, youthful and spotless. __ECOMPRODUCT__2678__ 3. Anti-Ageing Face Serum A good anti-ageing serum should have the right ingredients for your skin. This particular one is enriched with not one, but three different ingredients that are scientifically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles - Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Retinol. __ECOMPRODUCT__2679__ Use this face serum twice a day, for at least 6-8 weeks for visibly better skin. Don’t forget to use it after washing your face and before applying your moisturizer. 4. Collagen Peptide Face Serum This vegan and cruelty-free formula is infused with active ingredients, like Collagen and Niacinamide. Both these ingredients help in tightening and toning the skin, while stimulating collagen production. It’s time to welcome rejuvenated and lifted skin. __ECOMPRODUCT__2680__ 5. Retinol Face Serum Retinol is a type of Vitamin A which is known for its anti-ageing benefits. This magical ingredient will also help you reduce acne, blackheads and oil production. Use this retinol face serum at night, after washing your face and using a toner. Avoid using retinol in the day time for best results. __ECOMPRODUCT__2681__ The Bottomline Ageing is the one thing that most of us dread, be it in terms of hair care or skin care. However, if you do start using the right skincare products, it can easily be prevented or delayed. Alongside using anti-ageing products, make sure that you also start using SPF daily. Sun exposure is one of the most damaging causes of ageing. Protect and heal your skin and your skin will stay young for as long as possible! Explore More View the full article

For the third year in a row, Delhi Capitals were in the top-three during the regular season but got knocked out in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League. However, this time around, the angry fans are blaming their opener, Shikhar Dhawan, for being the one who started off extremely slow and didn’t help his side get enough runs to protect in the second half of the match. View this post on Instagram Opening the batting with Prithvi Shaw, the 35-year old southpaw batter took 39 deliveries to put up 36 runs on the board. During his time on the pitch, he hit just one 4 and two 6’s. His opening partner, Shaw had a rather stormy start in the power play and struck two 4’s and one 6 in the first 11 balls that he had faced. After scoring 18 runs, he lost his wicket to an LBW appeal by Varun Chakravarthy. WICKET! Varun Chakravarthy does the job for #KKR as he traps Prithvi Shaw in front for 18. When Shaw lost his wicket, the DC scoreboard read 32/1 in 4.1 overs. By the time Stoinis got out, Dhawan and he had managed to put up just 39 runs in 44 deliveries. Things got even worse by the time Dhawan lost his wicket as at that point, DC were at 83/3 in 14.1 overs and in big trouble too. There was uneven bounce and the turn on some of the deliveries made it borderline impossible to gauge the direction in which the ball would go after the bounce. Additionally, Dhawan has been one of the most consistent batters in the entire league this season. In the 16 matches that he had played, he scored 587 runs with a strike rate of 124.62 and was the third leading run-scorer in the race for the orange cap. View this post on Instagram Unfortunately, by the time it was Kolkata Knight Riders’ turn to bat, the Sharjah pitch had retained much of its batting-friendly characteristics, and their opener, Venkatesh Iyer made the most of it, scoring a mighty 55 off 41 deliveries. However, Iyer’s partner Shubman Gill played a relatively slow innings and scored 46 runs in as many balls. Having said that, one has to give credit to the exceptional bowling attack that the Delhi team has. Not only were they able to stretch the match till the very last over, but they were also within winning distance if they'd had just a few more runs to defend. View the full article

On Wednesday, Virat Kohli and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) ended up losing their penultimate match of the regular season of IPL 2021 to Kane Williamson’s SunRisers Hyderabad by a heart-crushing four runs. Although already qualified for the playoffs, had the Bengaluru side won this match as well, they would have continued to have a shot at the top-two spot in the post-season, which would have given them a one-match cushion in their quest for achieving their very first IPL championship. View this post on Instagram However, thanks to some exceptional bowling from Jason Holder and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the death overs of RCB’s innings, the Hyderabad squad, who are already out of playoff contention, were successful in spoiling their rivals’ plans. One of the biggest targets to have come out of the losing result for RCB was their opening batter, Devdutt Padikkal, who played a rather uncannily slow innings. Facing a total of 52 deliveries, the 21-year old was able to collate only 41 runs at a strike rate of 78.85.
