  1. The 2019 season of the Indian Premier League has to be special and unforgettable for both, the former West Indies ODI hero, Kieron Pollard and the young and eccentric, Hardik Pandya, both of whom found themselves hitting long shots on a regular basis in the ongoing month and a half long tournament. While playing for the same franchise, Pollard and Pandya, and Mumbai Indians, have been loyal to each other through the thick and thins of the team's 12-year-long journey and have reaped the benefits of being a part of the most successful IPL team with three championships (tied with MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings). © Twitter/IPL And while this season has not been MI's best, they are still on their way to qualifying for the top four spot of the IPL playoffs by winning 7 of their 12 matches and a total of 14 points in their hands and it is safe to say that on a lot of occasions, the MIPaltan needed some superhuman performances to get out of trouble and the duo of Pandya and Pollard got to work, especially in the death overs. “Even when he came onto the scene, if you remember, in a couple of games for Mumbai (Indians), he finished off with his big hits. He is a small guy but hits the ball a long way. And once he continues to practice well and continues to evolve as a cricketer, you can see him doing great things not only for Mumbai Indians but (also for) Indian cricket,” the Windies legend praised a 25-year-old Hardik Pandya. © Twitter/IPL Pandya, who was in a bit of a fix ahead of the league began as he suffered from a stiff lower back and a life-time of humiliation for his comments at a popular talk-show, has finally collated enough courage to go out there and let his bat do the talking. “It is matter (sic) of him having the confidence and you giving him the confidence for him to believe in himself, because he is one of those guys who is free-spirited and just goes out and tries to use his youthful exuberance to have an impact on the game,” said Pollard, who has been by Pandya's side for ages now.
  2. It has been a couple of years since Apple has launched a 'small' iPhone. The last small and compact phone from the company was the iPhone SE that came out all the way back in 2016. Well, if the new report is something to go by, then it looks like Apple might finally launch a compact iPhone next year. According to DigiTimes, Apple is readying new iPhones for 2020 with display sizes - 5.43-inch, 6.06-inch, and 6.67-inch. Looks like the company will be sourcing the displays from Samsung or LG. The current lineup, in case you're wondering, has display sizes of 5.8-inch (iPhone XS), 6.1-inch (iPhone XR), and 6.5-inch (iPhone XS Max). So, if it turns out to be true, Apple will reduce the size of the smallest model while increasing the size of the biggest model. © Unsplash We're not entirely sure as to what Apple is planning to call these new iPhones, though. But if we were to guess, then the smallest iPhone would be called iPhone SE2, which has been passing the rumour mill for quite some time now. But again, that raises questions about the names of other iPhones, so your guess is as good as ours, really.

  4. Samsung has finally offered new details about its upcoming smartphone, that has been rumoured for a while to launch soon. In an interview with CNET, Samsung's DJ Koh revealed that the foldable smartphone will basically be a tablet that can turn into a pocket-sized smartphone. © Samsung It has been rumoured to be called the 'Galaxy F' and Koh claims, that the device will probably be one of the more practical devices in the market when it launches. Koh did not reveal any details about the foldable smartphone and neither did he mention any launch date. “When we deliver a foldable phone, it has to be really meaningful to our customer,” Koh said in an interview. “If the user experience is not up to my standard, I don't want to deliver those kinds of products.” Koh stressed that the device will not a gimmick and will probably be a nice product when it launches. “It may be a niche market, but definitely, it will expand,” Koh told CNET. “I'm positive that we do need a foldable phone.” © Twitter The South Korean company has been trying to develop a foldable smartphone since 2013, when the company teased a bendable OLED display at CES 2013. Koh, however, did confirm that the smartphone will launch sometime this year and could even make an appearance at Samsung's Developer Conference next month. Huawei is also looking to launch a similar smartphone as early as next month and it seems like the competition in this space is getting heated already. Huawei is currently the world's second largest smartphone maker and is now creeping up Samsung's territory to dethrone the South Korean giant. Source: Cnet
