Akshay Kumar, who is among the biggest superstars of Bollywood, is known for completing 4-5 films in a year. He was last seen in Aanand L Rai's Atrangi Re which premiered directly on Disney+Hotstar. Now, the latest buzz suggests that another Akshay-starrer is all set to have a direct to digital premiere. Yes, you read that right! View this post on Instagram Reportedly, Akshay's upcoming thriller Mission Cinderella, helmed by Ranjit Tiwari, is taking the digital route and will premiere on Disney+Hostar. Producers Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani are rumoured to have sold the film for a huge amount of Rs. 135 crores to the OTT giant. Revealing the same, a source informed Bollywood Hungama, "Basically, Akshay's acting fees for Mission Cinderella have been recovered from the sale of digital rights. Of course, the amount is not the highest ever for a digital premiere, as the OTT players have slowed down, but it's one of the biggest deals for a direct to digital premiere. The platform is looking to make Mission Cinderella their big Summer 2022 attraction". The television and music rights have also been pre-sold, netting the creators a profit of around Rs 20 crore on the Mission Cinderella package deal. View this post on Instagram Talking about the deal, the source added, "Mission Cinderella isn't exactly a big-screen spectacle which can get the audience on board in big numbers. Both Akshay and the producers know it. On the other hand, the overall budget including Akshay's acting fees was in the range of Rs 175 crore. While the producers did lose out on money in Bell Bottom, they didn't want a deja-vu and hence, after analysing all business models, they finally decided on a direct to digital premiere". The report states that Mission Cinderella might premiere on Disney+Hostar on Eid. "The whole and sole reason for Mission Cinderella to fetch this money is because of Akshay Kumar, as he is among the biggest names of Bollywood today. If not for Khiladi, a film in a genre similar to Cinderella might have struggled to even get a Rs. 100 crore from OTT," the source concluded. For the unversed, the upcoming film also stars Rakul Preet Singh. View the full article

SRK Once Sold Tickets For His Own Film & That Proves Why He’s Called ‘King Khan’
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News
There is a reason why Shah Rukh Khan is addressed as the ‘king’ of Bollywood. The man is an epitome of humility and wisdom when it comes to understanding his craft. There are many superstars in this industry, but he’s one of the biggest stars in the world. While he’s been MIA from the big screen for the longest time, his fans trust him to come back with a bang. Talking about fans and his connection with them, King Khan once sold tickets for his movie Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa himself while standing outside a theatre. The 1994 romantic comedy starring SRK, Suchitra Krishnamurthy, Deepak Tijori and Naseeruddin Shah continues to be one of the most famous films of all time, and also won many awards. Shah Rukh Khan once sold advance tickets for Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa at Mumbai’s famous Gaiety Galaxy theatre and this promotional strategy won big time. He sat at the ticketcounter, signed tickets for his fans and even got paid around Rs 25,000. Interestingly, not many people know this but Shah Rukh was not the first choice for the lead role. The movie was originally planned out for actors Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla. However, rumour has it that Aamir wasn’t too keen on this and Juhi had schedule problems. This movie was a big hit with fans and was even remade in Telugu as Swapnalokam in 1999. SRK will now be seen in YRF’s action-packed Pathan with John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in pivotal roles. Alia Bhatt entered Bollywood in 2012 with Karan Johar's Student of The Year and has established herself amongst the most successful actresses of current times. Fans are eagerly waiting for her next release Gangubai Kathiawadi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The much-hyped film is slated to hit the big screens on February 25. Post Gangubai Kathiawadi, Alia will next be seen in Shah Rukh Khan-produced Darlings. The project also marks her debut as a producer and features Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma, and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. View this post on Instagram As per the latest buzz, Darlings has taken the OTT route and will premiere on a popular streaming platform this summer. Reportedly, the makers have already sold the film to Netflix for a whopping amount. Yes, you read that right! Revealing the same, a source informed Pinkvilla, "It’s a dark comedy and the makers felt that the film will be able to reach its target audience through the OTT medium. The conversations were on with multiple players and it's finally Netflix, who has bagged the exclusive streaming rights. The film has been sold for a sum of Rs 80 crore, thereby making it one of the biggest deals for a female led film". However, an official announcement from the makers is still awaited. View this post on Instagram The source further added that the deal is in a similar zone as Deepika Padukone-starrer Gehraiyaan, which got an offer in the range of Rs 80 to 85 crore from Amazon Prime Video. It was part of a deal between Dharma Productions and the streaming platform, who profited handsomely from Shershaah. For the unversed, Darlings is touted as a dark comedy that revolves around a mother-daughter relationship. Reportedly, Shefali Shah is playing Alia's mother in the film. Besides Gangubai Kathiwadi and Darlings, Alia also has films like SS Rajamouli's RRR, Ayan Mukerji's Brahmashtra alongside boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, and Karan Johar's directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Ranveer Singh in her kitty. There is still no official word about it but the buzz around Bollywood actors' Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s wedding is reaching new heights with each passing day. There have been several reports of guests being asked to sign an NDA and adhering to a “no phone policy”. Now, a new report has claimed that the reason behind such secrecy around Katrina and Vicky’s wedding is because they have sold their wedding streaming rights to an OTT platform for, get this, a whopping Rs 80 crore! © instagram/Katrina Kaif According to Mid-day, Amazon Prime Video was already looking to start a documentary-style series revolving around big fat weddings in India. Now, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal’s highly publicised wedding ceremonies will kickstart the series. A source told the tabloid, “The OTT platform has been looking at starting a grand wedding series focusing on big Bollywood nuptials. Vicky and Katrina’s wedding will be designed as an expansive feature, tracing their love story with bytes from the two stars, their friends and family, and a glimpse of the roka that happened last month. It will give an all-access view to the four-day celebration — from the sangeet to the reception.” © Instagram/Katrina Kaif The source further added, “The platform is said to be taking care of the expenses of the sangeet and mehndi events. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, and other artists performing at the sangeet, are apparently sponsored by the OTT channel. A team of videographers has been sent by them to film the band-baaja-baaraat.” © Instagram/Vicky Kaushal The report also stated that the guest list consists of just 120 people with only close friends from Bollywood invited, “Every invitee has not only been given a special QR code to gain access, but has also been asked to sign an NDA contract. Barricades have been put up around the resort so that paparazzi can’t take a sneak peek into the events.” View this post on Instagram So, all the fans who are eager to get a glimpse of Katrina and Vicky’s wedding will be in for a treat when the series reportedly streams early next year.
