Back in 2018, the #MeToo movement had gained momentum in India, to name and shame sexual offenders. In a shocking turn of events, various known celebrities including Alok Nath, Sajid Khan, Nana Patekar, and Vikas Bahl, among others were accused of sexual harassment by women. However, the movement soon fizzled out and most of the accused big names in Bollywood were not proven guilty. While some of the alleged offenders chose to stay away from the industry, others dived back into work sooner than expected. Several directors, who were accused in the #MeTooIndia but weren't proven guilty, too decided to move on and signed big stars for their projects. Let's take a look at the list of Bollywood actresses who are currently working with directors, once accused of sexual harassment: 1. Shraddha Kapoor (Luv Ranjan's next) View this post on Instagram Shraddha is playing the lead role in director Luv Ranjan's untitled film, starring Ranbir Kapoor as the main lead. For the unversed, an actress in 2018 had claimed that Ranjan harassed her after she was called for an audition for Pyaar Ka Punchnama (2011). However, the director denied all allegations and issued an apology in case his actions hurt anyone. The Ranbir-Shraddha film is among the most-awaited films and is slated to hit the theatres next year, on March 8, 2023. 2. Kriti Sanon (Vikas Bahl's Ganapath) View this post on Instagram Kriti Sanon, whose latest release Bachchhan Paandey turned out to be a failure at the box office, is a part of Vikas Bahl's Ganapath. Interestingly, Bahl was accused of sexual assault in October 2018, in the wake of the #MeTooIndia movement. The complainant had alleged that the Queen director had sexually assaulted her in 2015, and Anurag Kashyap had ignored her complaint back then. However, later in 2019, he was given a clean chit in the matter. Talking about his next release, Ganapath: Part 1, the film stars Tiger Shroff opposite Kriti. It marks their reunion on the big screen after a gap of 8 years post their debut film Heropanti (2014). The movie is scheduled to release later this year, on December 23. 3. Huma Qureshi (Subhash Kapoor's Maharani 2) View this post on Instagram In 2014, Subhash Kapoor was accused of sexually abusing actress Geetika Tyagi, and the claims resurfaced in 2018 as part of a wave of MeToo allegations against famous men in Bollywood. Back then, Aamir Khan, who was supposed to do Mogul with Kapoor, backed out of the project since the filmmaker was facing allegations of sexual misconduct. However, later in 2019, he reversed his decision and made a comeback in the biopic of late music mogul Gulshan Kumar stating that he was troubled as his action might have cost the filmmaker his right to work. As soon as the movement fizzled out, Subhash moved on and directed Madam Chief Minister with Richa Chaddha and Maharani starring Huma Qureshi. After the success of Maharani, Huma has again teamed up with the director for its sequel, which is expected to premiere soon. 4. Taapsee Pannu (Rajkumar Hirani's next) View this post on Instagram All hell broke loose for PK helmer Rajkumar Hirani when he was accused of sexual misconduct by a woman who worked with him on Sanju (2017). However, during the difficult time, celebs like Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt showed their support for him. He too denied the allegations and his lawyer Anand Desai termed them "false, mischievous, scandalous, motivated and defamatory". Since then, he hasn't announced his next project, however, various reports suggest that he's teaming up with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan for a film. Salman Khan © Instagram/Salman Khan Salman is known to take no nonsense from anyone, however, in 2009, a daughter of a Delhi businessman barged into the Tiger 3 actor's private party and slapped him in front of everyone. It was also reported that the girl also abused Sushmita Sen and Sohail Khan at the same party. However, Salman kept a cool head and the girl was escorted out by his bodyguards. 2. Ranbir Kapoor © Instagram/Ranbir Kapoor Unfortunately, this incident too involved Salman, however, according to reports, Ranbir was at the receiving end of this one. Ranbir, who is all set to get married to Alia Bhatt at the moment, was reportedly in a renowned pub in Mumbai along with Salman. As per reports, the incident occurred before Ranbir's Bollywood debut, with the actor getting into a war of words with Salman, after which the Pathan actor ended up slapping him. It was later reported that Salman's father Salim Khan called a truce with Ranbir's late father Rishi Kapoor. 3. Sunny Deol © Prime Video Imagine going up against the Dhai-Kilo Ka Haath of Sunny Paaji! Well, according to reports, Soha Ali Khan and Sunny Deol had been shooting for a sequence of Ghayal Once Again, which was a sequel to the 1990 blockbuster Ghayal. It was reported that there was a slapping scene in the film with Soha and Sunny. According to reports, Soha ended up getting too involved in the character and ended up slapping Sunny, leaving the actor shocked. 4. Shah Rukh Khan © Twitter One of the most infamous Bollywood clashes included Shah Rukh Khan slapping Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder. It was reported that Shirish pushed SRK to the edge before King Khan took the step of pulling his hair and slapping him. According to reports, things were so bad that Sanjay Dutt had to intervene to pull a stop. 5. Amrita Rao © Instagram/Amrita Rao On the sets of Pyaare Mohan (2006) Esha Deol and Amrita Rao got into an altercation with the former slapping the latter. Later, while speaking to TOI, Esha said, "Yes, I slapped Amrita. One day after pack-up, she abused me in front of my director, Indra Kumar, and my cameraman and I thought that was totally out of line. To protect my self-respect and dignity, in the heat of the moment, I slapped her. I have no regrets because she totally deserved it for her behaviour towards me at that point in time." 6. Yuzvendra Chahal shocked the cricketing world when he alleged that a Mumbai Indians player hung him from the 15th floor in a drunken state back in 2013. Chahal had made his debut with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and during his stint with the five-time IPL champions, he had faced a tough time as a youngster. While Chahal did not name the player who hung him from the balcony of a building's 15th floor, the leg-spinner's comments from an old Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) podcast, in which he had claimed that Mumbai Indians stars Andrew Symonds and James Franklin, tied his hands and legs and taped his mouth and left him in a hotel room, have now surfaced. "We are aware of recent news reports surrounding an incident in 2011 which name a member of our staff," Durham said in a statement sent to ESPNcricinfo. "As with any matters involving employees, the club will speak privately with all parties involved to determine the facts." The Qutub Minar, a historic Indian monument situated in the national capital was actually ‘Vishnu Stambh’ claims VHP Spokesman Vinod Bansal. The superimposed structure was built just to tease the Hindu community.” Vinod even offered a solution to the alleged indiscretion committed by the Mughals, as he continued, “We demand that all the 27 temples, which were demolished at the site in the past, be rebuilt and Hindus be allowed to offer prayers there.” While such tall claims were generously made by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader, as has become increasingly common in recent years, not a shred of credible evidence was shared by him, making his claims dubious at best, and embarrassing at the least. Bansal’s digital faux pas has left much of Twitter scratching their heads, as his version of history conveniently tries to ride the prevalent anti-Mughal sentiments, hoping for his 15 minutes of fame.
