  2. Earlier this week, we saw the Kirana stores getting a huge push with Jio's upcoming JioMart service. It'll be interesting to see how Jio and WhatsApp manage to pull everything together and help out these retail stores. But in the meantime, the government wants to step in and help out the millions of Kirana stores in the country. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) along with traders body Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) is now inviting applications from Indian startups to help them. These applications are for developing solutions that can help the local shops take online orders and ensure contactless delivery. © Reuters This development is pretty interesting and it comes hot on the heels of the central government allowing e-commerce companies like Amazon and Flipkart to resume normal operations from April 20. That obviously, isn't happening, so we'll see if this application helps out. So, essentially, the DPIIT is looking for e-commerce solutions integrated with messaging platforms, logistics solutions, payment gateway, and everything. Even though you might think that there is no need to moisturise your face regularly because youâre always indoors anyway, you actually should be moisturising your face, on a regular basis. I know if that if I stick to these steps, then my community will grow – and I know if you follow along, your community will too. 10. Ignore Google Google makes me laugh; Google makes me cry; Google makes me want to pitch myself into the freezing icy waters of the San Francisco bay. But focusing on Google’s up-and-down volatility isn’t what is going to make my community successful. It’s a distraction, and at worst, a wrong commitment of attention. 9. Remember My Past Sins I’ve made every mistake imaginable – including over-the-top themes, too many customizations, and chasing after dream goals. The very worst is not making a database backup, then losing everything. Most of us came up through the School of Hard Knocks, and we should learn from those experiences. 8. Treat Every Person as Gold Members are the beating heart of your community, and are truly what makes your community special. Less is More It’s easy to get sidetracked and to let your community get bloated with content and features. It’s better to be amazing in one domain expertise: you offer the most authority, the most trusted content, the latest news, or the most comprehensive overview. Excite members by being the best at what you do. De-emphasize, consolidate, or archive everything else as needed. 4. It’s Not the Feature; Its What the Feature Does It’s easy to think that because IPS ships with a new feature, then you should use it. You don’t. You should always pre-qualify the feature by asking how the feature can help you better engage with your community, how does it engage, and how can you customize the feature even better for your members? 3. Bring Your Superusers Along Even though I invite my superusers into a special private feedback group, I don’t leverage their knowledge, experience, or perspective enough. I recently asked for feedback about a particular feature, and it turns out none of them use it! 2. Experiment & Learn There’s always something new to learn, explore, and implement. It's my personal goal to enrich my personal skillsets in areas like leadership, team building, mentoring, emotional intelligence, organizational behavior, and psychology for more effective community management. On the promotion side, you can learn about email marketing, digital marketing, social media, creating rich media, and more. On the content side, you can always improve your content writing skills, emotive writing, keyword research, and the multiple use of one piece in different formats. 1. Enjoy the Journey For any community admin who sticks with his community for several years, you can get burned out. I know the feeling, and I like to periodically remind myself about what I enjoy running the community. There’s so much to learn and do that it can feel overwhelming, so it’s important to take every day in 2020 one day at a time.

Photo: FileKARACHI: Global credit rating agency Fitch Ratings on Monday affirmed Pakistan’s long term foreign currency rating at B- with a stable outlook, saying the country has taken positive steps on fiscal front as well as measures to strengthen external finance, reported The News. “Progress is being made towards strengthening external finances and positive steps have been made on the fiscal front, but considerable risks remain,” the New York-based rating agency said. Fitch said external vulnerabilities have been reduced over the past year as a result of policy actions and financing unlocked through an International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme, which have narrowed the current account deficit and supported a modest rebuilding of reserves. Also read: Huawei says 'survival' top priority as sales fall short “Still, external finances remain fragile with relatively low foreign-exchange reserves in the context of an elevated external debt repayment schedule and subdued export performance,” it noted. The IMF’s Extended Fund Facility is on track, with the first review completed in December. However, implementation risks remain high in Fitch’s view, particularly given the politically challenging nature of the authorities’ reform agenda. Fitch forecasts a further narrowing of the current account deficit to 2.1 per cent of GDP in the year ending June 2020 (FY20) and 1.9 per cent in FY21, from 4.9 per cent in the last fiscal year. Also read: IMF bailout to negatively impact Pakistan's short-run growth: Fitch It held import compression as the driver narrowing deficit, facilitated by rupee depreciation of around 30 per cent since December 2017 and tighter monetary conditions. Exports were forecast to grow modestly from a low base. The State Bank of Pakistan's (SBP) adoption of a more flexible exchange rate last May and capital inflows were also supporting a rebuilding of foreign-exchange reserves. Fitch expects gross liquid foreign-exchange reserves to rise to around $11.5 billion by FYE20, from $7.2 billion at FYE19. “We expect continued adherence to the new exchange rate regime to help rebuild foreign-exchange reserves and improve external resilience,” Fitch said. “Public finances are a key credit weakness and deteriorated further in FY19 prior to the approval of the IMF programme,” it noted. Also read: Pakistan budget deficit projected to increase to 6% in 2019: Fitch The agency said gross external financing needs of the country would likely remain high, in the mid-$20 billion range, over the medium-term due to considerable debt repayments and despite smaller current account deficit. Fitch said government debt rose to 84.8 per cent of GDP, well above the current ‘B’ median of 54 per cent, due to currency depreciation. Debt/revenue also jumped sharply to 667 per cent, compared with the historic ‘B’ median of 252 per cent. The government was consolidating public finances, but Fitch believes progress would be challenging due to the relatively high reliance on revenues to achieve the planned adjustment.
  12. In yet another case of animal brutality in the capital, a street dog was tied up and beaten to death by some people from a popular locality. This isn't an isolated incident of street dog torture and murder and while we condemn any form of brutality, why do we fall short of doing the same for an animal? A street dog (female), whose legs were tied together, was found badly injured, with a cracked skull, after she was beaten up by the locals of Masigarh, Sukhdev Vihar - a posh locality in South Delhi. Although no one has been identified behind the crime committed, it is believed a group of people were behind this and the only reason they beat her to death was because she was biting a few residents there. The dog, left to die, was then spotted by an animal lover, who called others from the fraternity for help. While she was taken to Friendicoes, the capital's leading dog shelter, another volunteer stayed back to round up some formalities with the police. While at Friendicoes, the dog was diagnosed with a broken skull and multiple fractures on her snout. Unfortunately, she didn't survive and passed away a few days ago. This incident alone is very unfortunate and we definitely believe the perpetrators need to be punished. But what is the punishment for animal abuse, torture and murder? Because we don't have stricter laws for animal abuse, most of us are unaware of a fulfilling and rightful punishment for the accused. © Instagram Currently a complaint under Section 11(1) of the PCA and Sections 428 and 429 of IPC against unknown accused persons who beat the dog, has been filed. The section states that anyone who tortures an animal in any way or kills them shall be liable to imprisonment and fined as well. "We took the dog to tis hazari hospital where the doctor Rekha Kumari, informed us that she had no jurisdiction and was the duty doctor for that day. After speaking with several authorities and waiting for 3 hours with the body of the dog, the doctor informed the IO that there were no instruments to do the post mortem and it's the IOs responsibility to get the instruments to cut the dog's body" said Gauri Puri, a lawyer by profession and an animal rights activist, in an interview with MensXP As it is, Delhi Police has been facing a lot of wrath from the capital for their inactions towards particular incidents that occurred around the city, and in this case too, they failed to mitigate the dire situation. (1) If you see someone hurt/torture/abuse an animal, the first thing you should do is confront them an ask them to stop. If you think that's not a safe option, try and gather a crowd and humiliate them for doing what they are. (2) Write to an active animal welfare group on social media, with adequate evidence of the abuse in the form of pictures and videos. Do this to garner as much support as you can. (3) Call the police and make sure the complaint is under Section 11 of the Prevention to cruelty to animals and section 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal code. Read up on these sections and do your research beforehand. Make sure your complaint is registered under all three sections. Many times complaint is only under Section 11 of the PCA, where the punishment is nothing. © Instagram (4) Legally file a complaint and take a DD No. Make sure to take a copy of it. It's the complainant's right (5) Follow up with the Investigating Officer. Give a letter for reservations of CCTVs, as that can at as a vital proof of the incident. If you are reading this article, it is highly possible that even you have searched something like this on the internet: 'How to lose belly fat?' 'How to get six-pack abs?' 'Easy way to build six-pack abs?' The search results that you may have gotten would be of fat burning drinks or fat loss exercises or belly fat burning techniques. Like everyone, you do those things and the end result is... nothing! © Getty Images It is high time you get it into your brain that there is no magical fix that can help you get a six-pack in a week. It needs hard work and dedication. Start with these basic steps: 1. Go On A Diet Everyone has abs, as it is the part of human physiology. The only reason people are not able to see their abs are for two reasons: a. They have a lot of body fat covering it b. They do not have developed abdominal muscles Let's cover the first part here. The reality is that you need to be on a diet to bring your body fat percentage down. At the same time, you would want to preserve the muscle mass you already have. To calculate the number of calories you need to eat for fat loss, simply multiply your body weight in pounds with 13. To preserve your muscle, have one gram of protein per pound of your body weight. If you weigh 160 lbs., this would mean: a. Calories = 160x13 = ~2100 calories b. Protein = 160 grams 2. Do Weight Training You need to lift weights to hold on to your muscle when you lose fat. © Getty Images Make sure that you are doing compound exercises aka exercises that engage your core, and are moving more than one muscle group at a time so that you build your core. You can also include direct ab training with and without abs to build them further ahead. 3. Lose Around 0.5 To 1% Of Your Body Weight Every Week You will definitely get started on a diet once you plug in those numbers from step #1 and start losing weight. Then, there will be two questions: a. How much weight to lose? b. How fast to lose it? To reveal a six-pack, you need to have around 10 to 12% body fat. So, until you reach that number, you will have to dig deep. To find your body fat number, you can use a lot of tools like online calculators or Inbody machines. Ideally, you should be losing around 0.5 to 1% of your body weight every week. If things are faster than this, you could eat some extra calories. If you are comfortable with it, you can pick up the pace a bit. If things have slowed down, you can either calculate the numbers again on your new body weight or you can simply drop 100-150 calories and things should pick up. So, go do the work and follow a plan instead of finding the next quick-fix for six-pack abs. It also helps you to increase strength and lean body mass. 3-5g/day intake is sufficient. 3) Caffeine- Caffeine is a stimulant which can help you boost your mood before any intensive work.
