Do you love your shoes? Sneakers? Boots? Oxfords? Then, you can’t just throw them in the washing machine, cross your fingers and hope for the best. And no, just rubbing the dust off with a dirty cloth or a brush isn’t acceptable either. via GIPHY Machine wash is only good for your canvas sneakers. Even with those, you can expect the quality of your shoes to degrade or their colour to fade. Leather, mesh and suede need more care to stay young and shiny. It’s not tough to keep men’s shoes in tip-top condition but you do need to put a little time and effort into it. Here’s how it’s done. How To Clean SneakersFirst up, remove any caked-on dirt by knocking the soles together. Use a microfiber cloth to remove the excess mud. Now, start spot cleaning. For sneakers, you can use Helios Super Sneaker Cleaner.Avoid using water or wipes. Instead, try dabbing white vinegar on any noticeable stains or scuffs. If that doesn’t make your sneakers sparkle, move to the deep clean stage. Remove the laces and insoles. Take warm water and add a mild detergent to it.Add a few drops of dish wash soap or shampoo. Use the brush to gently scrub the surface to form lather.Use a towel to remove the excess water. You can wash the laces in your washing machine. If they’re frayed, replace them with fresh ones. After air-drying your sneakers, store them in your shoe closet or a box, preferable away from the sunlight. __ECOMPRODUCT__2839__ How To Clean Leather Shoes & BootsRemove the laces from your shoes and throw them in the washing machine if they’re dirty.Use a soft cloth or a brush to clean dirt and debris that may be stuck to the shoe’s leather surfaces. Make a solution of warm water and dish soap. Take a soft cloth and dip it into the mix. Wring it out and wipe the surface of the shoe to remove tough stains.Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe off the soap. Towel dry your shoes. Apply leather polish to protect it from stains and add shine. Let your shoes or boots dry in the open air. Avoid putting them in the sun or by a heater. This may cause the leather to fade or crack.__ECOMPRODUCT__2840__ How To Clean Suede ShoesPut a crumpled paper inside the shoes before cleaning so they can hold their shape. Use a soft, clean towel to rub the dirt off. Avoid rubbing too vigorously as suede is a delicate material.Remember to rub in the direction of the grain of your suede shoes.Use a hardy suede brush to restore your shoes. Doing so regularly will revitalise your suede shoes instantly. It can also help you get rid of light stains and deep cleaning. Coat your shoes with a finishing spray. It’ll protect your work and make your suede waterproof.__ECOMPRODUCT__1430__ How To Clean White Canvas ShoesRemove the shoelaces.Fill up a bucket with lukewarm water and 1 cup of baking soda.Add a drop of laundry detergent. Soak your shoes and laces in the bucket for an hour.Take them out and use a brush to scrub the stains away.Place them somewhere cool and dry, away from the direct sunlight.__ECOMPRODUCT__1276__ How To Clean Mesh ShoesUse a soft shoe brush to gently scrub away the dirt. Be sure to maintain a softer degree of pressure than you might use for a heavier material like leather.Take a mixture of warm water and a gentle laundry detergent. The consistency shouldn’t be too sticky. Avoid bleaching agents while cleaning white or light-coloured mesh shoes. It can cause discolouration and damage the material.Apply the cleaning solution using a soft cloth. Use the brush if you’re dealing with a stubborn stain.Keep a bowl of clean warm water to rinse the cloth if the stains are many. You don’t want the stain to spread due to dirty cloth.Use a clean cloth to remove the excess soap and water. Avoid dunking the shoes in water.Place them in a cool, dry spot, away from direct sunlight. Let them be until they are fully dry.Coat your shoes with the invisible layer of Vetro Power Footwear Protection to keep them from staining again. A single application will protect your shoes for 12-18 months, depending on the usage.__ECOMPRODUCT__2841__ Now that you know how to clean your shoes, no matter the material, make sure your shoe rack is in tip-top condition. Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) is finally available to download on iOS devices from today as the South Korean company Krafton announced its availability on social media. “India Ka Game is now available on iOS,” the company said. © unsplash/onur-binay-cQ90QkreiPQ Krafton announced earlier this week that the game had hit 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store in less than two months. The company also announced its plan to release the game for iPhone/iPad users. The company also gave in-game rewards such as the ‘Galaxy Messenger Set’ permanent outfit which will also be available for iOS players to redeem. According to the App Store page, BGMI has a download size of 1.9GB and may have additional patch updates to download after launching the game. The App Store also reveals that the game tracks user content and usage data. The Apple App Store also recommends the game for players who are above the age of 17. As per Krafton, BGMI had 2.4 million concurrent players in one month which have increased since then. Now the gaming company is gearing up to host the first-ever Battlegrounds Mobile India esports tournament next month. The company has not announced any details such as prize pool details and the registration process. Now that the iOS version of the game is available for download, Krafton is hoping to add more players to the player base. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Due to its popularity, BGMI has also seen many cheaters and hackers flocking to the game which resulted in the company banning more than 3 lakh offenders. The accounts of the cheaters have been permanently banned, probably in preparation for the esports tournament. It is worth pointing out that BGMI has already exceeded the number of players PUBG mobile had garnered before the game was banned. According to market estimates, PUBG mobile had a player base of 33 million, in India alone, which has now been surpassed by BGMI. iPhone users can now download the game by visiting the App Store page here. Krafton recommends running the game on iPhone 6s or later devices, running iOS 9. However, for the best experience, Krafton asks iPhone users to update to iOS 15 for a smoother performance and gameplay experience. View the full article

Believe it or not, but Elon Musk certainly isn’t a fan of Apple. They have a long and publicly recorded history of being antithetical to each other. Musk has even gone on record, saying that he isn’t a fan of either Apple’s products or of their business practices. © Twitter/elonmusk Elon Musk took a few more shots at Apple recently, over their ongoing court battle with Epic Games, and called Apple’s business tactics, an attempt to tax the Internet. Apple app store fees are a de facto global tax on the Internet. Epic is right. — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 30, 2021 To put things into perspective, Epic Games & Apple are engaged in a heated court battle, over the monopoly Apple’s App Store has for iOS devices. © Reuters Epic Games developed Fortnite, one of the most popular Battle Royale games across any platform. Epic built a direct payment system into the game that would allow it to bypass Apple's 30% fee for App Store purchases. For this, Apple kicked Fortnite off its store, at which point, Epic Games sued Apple for its monopolistic practices. © Reuters Apple has always claimed that the reason they control their applications ecosystem so stringently is because this allows them to keep things secure. Basically, if an app developer wants their app to be available to iOS users, they have to go through the App Store. © Reuters Apple charges 30 per cent of all the transactions that take place in apps downloaded from their app store, and this includes in-app purchases as well. As a result, many smaller developers and business owners, have to hand over a major chunk of their revenue to Apple. © iStock Musk’s Twitter followers quickly joined the conversation, with a majority of them, stanning Elon right away, and suggesting that Tesla should have an app store of its own. They are not. Apple is asking for a small percentage in exchange for the secure and widespread platform they offer. Epic is free to use purchase methods other than in-app purchase. — Jordy (@jordynuyts) July 30, 2021small ???? They take 30% from what developer sells.. and as a bonus, if user returns app and asks for refund - they still charge developer by 30% of app price... It's very much fucked up. — dendy | ray subject (@dendy_sk) July 30, 2021Problem is, in the real world you can't rent a mall plus demand 30% of every sell you make. You rather rent or sell the store you have nothing to do with the product sales. That's where Epic and Elon is right. — milliene (@milliene1843) July 30, 2021Then build a Tesla App Store as competition. No other App Store exists that even remotely compares to the Apple App Store. — Brandon (@StudentOfProfit) July 30, 2021The best way for the world to move beyond the Apple-Google app store duopoly is to build a new, open phone with crypto integrated at the OS level. It's because crypto is so useful that the new phones will genuinely be better for people of all wealth levels. — Ryan Berckmans (@RyanBerckmans) July 30, 2021What about Tesla running its own App Store? — Austin Tesla Club (@AustinTeslaClub) July 30, 2021The thing is, it is not just Apple that takes an exorbitant cut from the transactions. All major app stores function this way, be it Microsoft, or Android. All of them claim 30 per cent of the revenues that apps generate from sales on these platforms. The reason why Musk called out Apple specifically, is the fact that with other ecosystems, users can sideload apps, that is use the installer files downloaded from places other than the app store, install the app, and then use them. Apple doesn’t allow that, citing security reasons, which, in today's day and age, seems to be a hopeless crutch. We all have heard stories of malware in iOS devices, especially with the Pegasus scandal. Taking a cut from the sales on their app store is justified. Apple and Google, do incur a cost in running and maintaining the app store, and it makes it easier for people to search for apps. However, 30 per cent is a bit too steep. It would behove everyone if the percentage was reduced to a more reasonable figure. View the full article
