  1. In the interbank market, local unit falls Rs2.40 to close at Rs234.32, down in value from the previous close of Rs231.92
  2. Mumbai Indians suffered their third consecutive loss in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday (April 6) as they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by five wickets. The Rohit Sharma-led outfit looked in control of the proceedings till the arrival of Pat Cummins. Tymal Mills had removed the danger man Andre Russell in the 14th over and KKR still needed 61 runs off 40 balls when Australia's Test captain walked in to bat. A couple of overs later, the fate of the contest completely changed as Cummins smashed Mills and Jasprit Bumrah for a couple of sixes and boundaries before going berserk and hitting Daniel Sams for 35 runs in an over to seal the win for KKR. After the third consecutive defeat, Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma was visibly frustrated with the result and when commentator tried to cheer him up by reminding him how his side has been a slow starter in the tournament, Rohit cut him short and said he doesn't want to be in the position where they have to win everything towards the backend of the league. Can't see u like this, it really hurts , Comeback stronger Ro !!#RohitSharma𓃵 | #IPL2022 pic.twitter.com/LBRxg75KtN — Rohit Sharma Fanclub India (@Imro_fanclub) April 6, 2022 "I don't want to be in this position all the time (when Danny Morrison pointed out that MI have been in this position before at the start of an IPL season)," Rohit said at the post-match presentation. Watch the video here: pic.twitter.com/B8H0JHzVmi — Royce (@Elegance__45) April 6, 2022 Even when the Mumbai Indians skipper was gearing up for the post-match interaction, he was looking frustrated and he lent out his frustration on the technical staff. Seeing Rohit lose his cool was a rare sight for most cricket fans and they were quick to point it out on social media. First time saw Rohit getting emotional in post match presentation. Rohit legit looks angry. — (@bohutaalsi) April 6, 2022Wonder how kohli controlled those emotions for all those years.. here this guy getting rattled just after 3 matches ... Rohit so frustrated #KKRvMIpic.twitter.com/ZqUc0wgEEP — Harsh Mishra.. (@iamharsh55) April 6, 2022Apart from their death bowling woes, Rohit's own form with the bat is not helping the cause of the five-time IPL champions. Mumbai Indians are currently languishing at the bottom of the table. They have played three and lost three just like the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and need to turn things around quickly or else they might miss out on the playoffs for the second season running. 3. With last night’s 54-run defeat against Punjab Kings (PBKS), defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have endured their worst start in IPL history. Before this season, the Chennai-based outfit had never opened its campaign with two consecutive losses. However, the 15th edition has been their worst start to the season. They have suffered three consecutive losses in as many games and it has left them languishing second from bottom in the 10-team IPL 2022 points table. View this post on Instagram Having restricted PBKS to 180 for eight on a batting paradise, the CSK bowlers had done a tremendous job. The onus was on their batters to get them over the line, but all of them, barring Shivam Dube, put up a horrendous show, which included their former skipper MS Dhoni. Half of CSK was back in the hut with only 36 runs on the board and it forced Dhoni to rebuild the innings with a cautious knock. With each dot ball, the required run-rate was going through the roof but the former CSK skipper showed no intention whatsoever and kept on playing a ‘Test’ knock. View this post on Instagram When 107 runs were required off the last seven overs, it was evident that runs were from both ends but Dhoni was in no mood to go through his gears. With each dot ball, the pressure was mounting on Dube and he finally perished after a valiant effort, smashing 57 off 30 balls. The required run-rate was well above 15 runs an over and Dhoni was batting on 11 off 21 deliveries. Watching his knock, it seemed like he was playing on a different surface altogether. He made batting look so difficult and dug up a huge hole for himself. View this post on Instagram More than the defeat, what hurt the fans the most was Dhoni’s lack of intent. It seemed as if he had already given up on the match and was playing to reduce the margin of the humiliation. Obviously, the supporters were pissed at Dhoni’s ‘useless’ knock and they trolled him brutally for his Test-match-like knock. Some fans even joked that through this knock he wanted to popularise the longest format of the game. 7. The former captain of the Indian cricket team and the head coach of the Men in Blue, Rahul Dravid is currently in South Africa, as his squad competes in their first of three Test matches of the series amid some intense dressing room controversies clouding the contest. On the eve of the first Test, Dravid had a sit-down discussion with the media during which he spoke about some of the strategies that he will look to set in place as the coach and the heritage of India’s Test journey in South Africa, so far. View this post on Instagram However, the biggest issue that the 48-year-old dealt with was the discussion around Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma about their implicit captaincy war across all three formats of international cricket. Dravid made it completely clear that while the discussions on the matter “might or might not” be happening behind the curtains, the details were not meant to be shared with the media. For the ongoing Test series, Rohit Sharma was unavailable and working on getting over his hamstring injury at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before the ODI series begins next month. #INDvSA #SAvIND #RahulDravid Internal conversation about captaincy is not for media: Rahul Dravid Read: https://t.co/DB6fRlmXWY pic.twitter.com/VfQnrPTzNu — TOI Sports (@toisports) December 25, 2021 In addition, Dravid had nothing but good things to say about Kohli, who was recently stripped of his position as the ODI captain but continues to lead the side in the longest format of the game. Famously known as ‘The Wall’ and a Test ace himself, Dravid recognised the current red-ball skipper for everything that he has done, so far, to make Team India a dominating force in this format all across the globe. View this post on Instagram Ever since replacing Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the team after India’s early end to the T20 World Cup Campaign in November, Dravid has had an incredible start to his tenure. A 3-0 in a T20I series followed by a 1-0 Test series win against New Zealand at home turf. However, the trip to South Africa is Dravid’s first overseas challenge and the man acknowledges that wholeheartedly. Considering the fact that India has never won a single Test series on the soil of the Proteas and the added incentive of getting those crucial World Test Championship points, both Dravid and Kohli will be looking to create history during the series. 10. Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa are finally married and their wedding pictures are nothing short of a scene from a romantic movie. They got married in an intimate wedding ceremony on November 15. The wedding ceremony took place in the presence of the couple’s close friends and family members. They are staying at the Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort, an 8,000-acre luxury hotel in the Siswan Forest Range, at the foothills of the Himalayas in New Chandigarh. Their pictures show true love and perfectly capture their romance. Rajkummar and Patralekhaa took to their Instagram handles to share the first pictures from their wedding album. Rajkummar captioned the images, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa Here’s to forever .. and beyond @patralekhaa (sic).” View this post on Instagram Patralekhaa also shared the picture and wrote a beautiful message for the love of her life. She wrote, “"I got married to my everything today; my boyfriend, my partner in crime, my family, my soulmate...My best friend for the last 11 years! There is no greater feeling than to be your wife! Here’s to our forever... @rajkummar_rao (sic).” View this post on Instagram Well, their love story didn’t start on a very fairytale note as Patralekhaa judged him from his character he played in his debut movie Love *** Aur Dhokha (LSD). In one of her earlier interviews to the Humans of Bombay, Patralekhaa revealed how she first perceived of Raj when she first saw him in Love *** Aur Dhokha (LSD). She said, "I thought that the weird guy he played in the film was actually what he was like. My perception of him was already tarnished. He told me later, that he had first seen me in an ad and thought, 'I'm going to marry her'. It was so ironic." Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa have never shied away from talking about their love for each other. Now, they are finally married and it’s just surreal to see two all decked up in their wedding outfits. Isn’t their love story just like a Bollywood movie? View the full article
  11. Pakistan will take on Scotland today in what is being considered a practice match as it will not affect fortunes of either teams
  12. Ravindra Jadeja was asked the most senseless question after India’s win against Scotland during the T20 World Cup 2021 match on Friday and the all-rounder gave the most befitting response to the reporters. Defeating the Scottish side in just 6.3 overs, the Men in Blue have managed to keep their dreams of making it to the next round of the tournament alive. However, now the fate of Virat Kohli’s side rests in the hands of the Afghanistan side who will have to defeat New Zealand, and by a decent margin as well, for India to get through. View this post on Instagram This, by default, would mean that if the Afghan side loses to the Black Caps, India would be ruled out of the next round of the tournament, right? However, one of the reporters present at the post-match press conference either did not understand the basic logic or wanted to hear something controversial from Jadeja. As a result, the journalist asked him: “What will you all do if Afghanistan loses to New Zealand and your tournament is over?” Unsure of whether he had heard the question properly, the 32-year old even asked the reporter to repeat the question and by the time he did, Jadeja had made up his mind about the answer he would give in return. "Toh phir aur bag pack karke ghar jayenge, aur kya" pic.twitter.com/V6DE71UcM0 — Jayesh (@jayeshvk16) November 5, 2021 With a smirk on his face, the southpaw said “Toh phir backpack karke ghar jaenge, aur kya? (then we will pack our bags and go back home, what else?” The dumb question and the befitting reply had the whole moment go viral on Twitter with the common people discussing what a wasted opportunity did the reporter have when he could have asked something a lot more valuable or interesting. Pata nahi BC yeh aise questions kaise aate hai inke dimag me. You got a golden chance to ask a question to a cricketer and then end up asking such a foolish one. For his brilliance with the ball, “Sir” Jadeja was honoured with the ‘Player of the Match’ award. India is scheduled to play the final match of the ‘Super 12’ round against Namibia on Monday, November 8, 2021 but that result would mean nothing if Kane Williamson and Co. defeat the Afghanistan side on Sunday.
