  1. Apple has been known for adding tools that benefit a user's health ever since the company launched the Health App with iOS 8. The company has doubled down on the same ethos with the introduction of the Apple Watch. The smartwatch has some nifty features that have been responsible for saving countless lives in the past. Now with iOS 13, Apple is introducing a new feature in the health app that lets users track the headphone volume. It works with Bluetooth headsets (MFi) and the health app will let users know if the volume of the music is too high. © Pexels This feature was not showcased at WWDC 2019 however we got a small preview of the upcoming feature. The health app on iOS devices will now be able to track volume levels and suggest users if the volume is too high and might damage their ears. Apple will use the prescribed WHO levels to determine if the volume levels are loud or not. According to WHO, sounds above the level of 85db is harmful to the ear which is also the same parameter set by Apple in the 'Health' app. Any volume levels lower than 85db is usually ok however previous research has suggested that prolonged exposure to sound levels below 85db can also be harmful to the human ear. What Can Be Improved? © MensXP From what we saw from the demo, the new feature doesn't entirely work as expected. Even though you can track your volume levels from a previous listening session in the Health app, there is no provision for listeners when they are actually listening to audio at high volume levels. The 'Health' app as of now does not notify users about potential ear damage when they are listening to loud music. You will have to manually check levels each time by going into the 'Health' app which can be a bit tedious if you really care about protecting your ears. © Apple It would have been useful if the 'Health' app would notify you if you are listening to music louder than the recommenced volume level when you're actually doing it rather than later. For example, if a user is listening to music louder than 85db for more than 30 minutes, the Health app could simply notify users with a warning. Of course, many audiophiles would find this notification annoying if it keeps coming up every 15 or 30 minutes, which is why Apple should also provide the option of turning this specific notification off or give the ability to mute it for an hour. Personally, I would like to get a warning while I'm listening to loud music, not after the damage is already done.
  2. He has an image of being the 'Unsuitable Boy' and he is proud to carry this tag. There are no brownie points in guessing who we talking about. It's none other than Karan Johar, and the man is celebrating his 47th birthday today in a rather intimate style in New York. He is undoubtedly one of the leading producers and filmmakers in Bollywood and we can't deny it. After all, he is the man who changed the idea of seeing romance on the screen. Karan carries this boss-like attitude with him at all times and never let the negativity seep in and drag him down. “It's okay to be imperfect, it's okay to not resonate with the perceived reality. Life is not a Hallmark card" - that's what Karan feels and sticks to in his life. It's never been easy for him as he has always had to struggle to earn love and respect from the masses. From being just a filmmaker to hosting a show to being an anchor to now becoming a dad to twins Roohi and Yash, Karan has taken the lead in his life despite the many hurdles. He has been targeted for being the 'movie mafia' or the 'flag bearer of Nepotism' but he has never let it get in his way. His recent ventures 'Kalank' and 'Student of the Year 2' took a backseat but Karan is all set to move on and pick up other projects. On his birthday, we decided to delve further into what sets this man apart from the rest: Had No Qualms In Accepting His Sexuality View this post on Instagram I have voted!! #voteindia have you?? A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Apr 29, 2019 at 3:34am PDT Everyone knows that coming out of the closet can be a life-altering experience for a person, but Karan took it in his stride and how. He spoke without hesitations in his autobiography. “Everybody knows what my sexual orientation is. I don't need to scream it out. I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this,” wrote Karan. It takes guts to break out of your shell when you know you are in a position where you can be judged for literally everything you do, both personally and professionally. Opening Up About His Virginity Once again, he took social media by storm when he opened up on how he lost his virginity. In his book, he mentioned that he paid for the first time he had ***. "It just seemed a bit stupid; it seemed fake because, obviously, the person assigned to please you is going to please you artificially." Godfather Of Nepotism View this post on Instagram #Kalank!!!!! Tomorrow!!!!!!â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Apr 16, 2019 at 10:37am PDT Call him a 'movie mafia' or a 'flag bearer of nepotism', Karan takes it all in and is completely unapologetic. He doesn't mind being called 'nepotism ka Baap' as he believes that he will do everything that will benefit him. “We're not NGOs! We are businesses with bottom lines and budgets. And tomorrow if I want to launch Shah Rukh Khan's son because he's Shah Rukh Khan's son and I believe I can gain from it, why won't I? I run a company, it's a balance of commerce and art, and both matter. I have also launched Sidharth Malhotra who has nothing to do with anyone, but why bother mentioning that,” Karan says as a solid response on being tagged as 'flag bearer of Nepotism'. Being A Mother To His Twins View this post on Instagram When you smile and your son pouts! It's really a feeling of fatherhood! ð· @thehouseofpixels A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Feb 9, 2019 at 3:48am PST Karan became a father to twins, Roohi and Yash, via surrogacy. Again, people had several theories but we applaud him for being to a mother to his kids and it's not an easy job to handle his production ventures and still being able to be the nurturer. “Being a single parent is really very scary and daunting…because post my mother- and that thought scares me every single day I just hope that I have all the love in my heart to give them and to not make them feel incomplete in any other way and not make them feel like they are missing out on a certain part of the parental process,” Karan said. King Of Romance KJo has stuck to the romance genre religiously and has changed the concept of how we see love on the big screen. For example, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' - is not an ever after love story. The idea of moving on is what Karan taught us through the film and also the bitter fact that love does not always bring happiness. In 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', he made the protagonists leave their spouses and give love a second chance. He is all about showing love in an unconventional manner, which undeniably makes him the king of romance. On this note, we wish him a very happy birthday.
  3. Are you, just like us, waiting for the second season of 'Sacred Games'? Well, then you'll be glad to know that the makers have something special to keep you at ease until the show finally goes on air. Netflix India has dropped the character posters of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan. If you have seen the first season, you would by now be dying to know how the story of Ganesh Gaitonde and Sartaj Singh unfolds. Going by their character posters, we can guess that this time, it will be more intense, dark and gritty. It's not a hidden fact that Nawazuddin did an exemplary job in portraying the character as intense like Gaitonde in the first season, so it goes without saying that he will come through with more power in the second season. Nawaz took to Twitter to share his look poster and wrote, "Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesh bhai ko ? Aukaaat...!!! #GaneshGaitonde2.0 @SacredGames_TV @NetflixIndia @anuragkashyap72." In the poster, Nawaz is all suited and booted unlike the previous season. He will be taking us through his life's journey and how he became the Mumbai's kingpin in season two. We all know that Nawaz leaves no stone unturned to make his character look 100 per cent convinving onscreen. Check out the tweet here: Pichli baar kya bola tha Ganesh bhai ko ? The second season has been helmed by Anurag Kashyap and Neeraj Ghaywan. Ghaywan has replaced Vikramaditya Motwane and it will be interesting to see how he takes the story forward. © Netflix A while back, the promo of 'Sacred Games' 2 was released. Two new actors Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey have been introduced. Pankaj Tripathi or 'Guruji' will be seen playing an important role in this season. See the promo here: Season 2 is coming. 4. The whole world is going crazy over 'Avengers: Endgame', so much so that a fan landed in hospital for crying uncontrollably during the movie. Someone was beaten up outside a movie hall for giving away spoilers. Yup, that's right! That's the kind of impact the film has had on people across the globe. Marvel Studios Well, the movie has earned more than $1.2 billion in its first week, so you can expect nothing but the best. Looks like everyone wants to know how the remaining superheroes fight Thanos to 'avenge the fallen'. But, there's someone who isn't excited about 'Endgame' at all. In fact, she thinks it's one of the most boring films ever made. Instagram We are talking about columnist and novelist, Shobhaa De. BTW, she wrote 'End Game' instead of 'Endgame' while ranting about the movie. Calling it a multi-million dollar joke, she wrote, "Avengers: End Game. Should never have begun! A multi-million dollar joke on movie-goers. One of the most boring films ever made!" Avengers: End Game. Should never have begun! A multi-million dollar joke on movie-goers. 5. The biggest movie of month/year/decade is just a few days away and all the fans are so excited and hyped up for it, and so are the actors who are a part of Avengers and MCU. Everyone's gearing up for the movie in different ways, from coming up with different theories for 'Avengers: Endgame' to basically having meltdowns about the possible deaths. And some, very important fans are making parodies and making everyone laugh, maybe because this movie will for sure kill us. Jaze Phua turned the second trailer, the one that showed Tony back on earth and joining all the surviving Avengers in that hideous new white suit. Turning it into a 'Client Expectation vs Client Budget' meme, the low-budget video is actually very hilarious. It also reminds me of a low budget version of the 'Avengers: Infinity War' trailer from last year. There are so many great funny moments, I mean, look at the recreation of the plane! Literally everything going on in this gif. How they can - and should - rebuild Asgard. What is he even doing here? The chicken and obviously another creative moment. This is the moment that killed me, the fucking Nokia phone! They're doing Nebula dirty with that blue bag. This parody was so brilliant even Mark Ruffalo had to appreciate this, and yes, I agree, so much like the original, isn't it? Struggling to see the difference between these two #AvengersEndgame trailers ð¤ Brilliant work, @jazephua! pic.twitter.com/8d22vDdf4a — Mark Ruffalo (@MarkRuffalo) April 8, 2019 Wholesome. 6. No, this is not a late April Fool's joke or a prank by Apple. According to a new patent filing submitted by Apple, future devices such as the iPhone and Apple Watches may have “smell recognition capabilities”. © MensXP The company has been trying to detect air pollution levels and other harmful particles with tiny sensors that could be embedded into future devices. The new patent also shows that Apple could use other multiple sensors that will be able to detect body odour, rotten food and maybe sugar levels. The patent is called “System and Methods for Environment Sensing” and it explains a system where sensors could be used with an “artificial intelligence engineer to recognize smells associated with certain chemicals.” The patent also shows how an ionic liquid sensor would be tuned to specific ranges and enclosed into an SoC. How Sensors Will Work? The system would have an in-built that will be able to raise temperatures on the ionic fluid in order to reverse any chemical reactions. Patents show that Apple is going to add the smelling technology to the Apple Watch and the iPhone. © YouTube Previous patents show that Apple wants to give owners of their devices to access air quality data. This would be highly useful especially in areas where pollution levels are off the roof. The previous patent by Apple shows that Apple wants to monitor the ozone, carbon monoxide and other harmful gases. © MensXP For diabetic patients, it would be awesome to detect blood sugar levels without the need for withdrawing blood. This would be a game changer for people who want to get rid of the tedious process. As for detecting body odour, that would help everyone from being embarrassed for sure. Being a patent, we cannot expect to see these sensors and features on a new iPhone anytime soon. In fact, there's a good chance we may never get to see it. Having said that, if this patent comes to fruition, we can all be excited about the future.
  7. The past two days of the Indian Premier League has seen some rather bizarre series of events taking place that have changed the complete scenario of the matches with outcomes absolutely different from what the viewers were expecting. We are talking about the matches that took place between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday, and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Saturday. You did not even have to look carefully to realise how similar the two games got in the final overs of the second innings, respectively. Let's start by talking about the game between RCB and KKR. During the 17th over Bangalore's bowling, it was Mohammad Siraj who bowled his second dangerous beamer of the match and had to give up the rest of the over with four deliveries left. During this situation, RCB captain, Virat Kohli was standing at the boundary, waiting for the situation to untangle itself. It was only after the umpire had taken the ball away from Siraj that the RCB captain ran down to the pitch to decide what needs to happen. Eventually, he decided to give the ball to Marcus Stoins and KKR's Andre Russell had himself a grand feast. Ruthless. Relentless. Russel ðªð¥ The absolute hitting that led to this though ðð@KKRiders @Russell12A #RCBvKKR pic.twitter.com/4Ou1HzYS34 — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 5, 2019 Now, let's talk about the match between CSK and KXIP. In the second last over of Chennai's bowling, Deepak Chahar bowls back to back beamers at Sarfaraz Khan, who manages to hit a four on the first but takes a single on the second to give the strike to David Miller. This is where MS Dhoni steps in to have a word with the youngblood. Visibly upset with the consecutive no-balls, Dhoni lets Chahar hear it. It felt more like a discussion between an angry school teacher and a student who keeps quiet with hands at the back the whole time. Moment of the day. #DeepakChahar was almost in tears after a terrible start to the over. Couldn't look into the eyes of #Dhoni. Would love to know what from Chahar himself on what was said. Because clearly after this, he seemed a different bowler altogether. #CSKvKXIP #VIVOIPL pic.twitter.com/iwq3yVXjtI — Abhishek Barthur (@imabhi27) April 6, 2019 Instantly, Chahar looked like a different player altogether. After two scary yorkers he ended the over by dismissing Miller. We could not have made this up. One day after another, the two leaders of the Indian cricket team were put in similar spot but while one chose to continue to abuse at his players from the boundary line, the other decided to find out what's wrong with his teammate, shared a few words of wisdom and encouraged him to be the best version of himself.
  8. The 'Dabangg' series is one of Salman Khan's most successful movie ventures of recent times. The series also boasts of its own set of loyal fan following, which only adds to Salman's already massive fan base. View this post on Instagram R.I.P Vinod Khanna Sir. You will really be missed . A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Apr 27, 2017 at 11:04am PDT When 'Dabangg' directed by Abhinav Kashyap released in 2010, it went on to become a mega blockbuster, and a stellar debut film for Sonakshi Sinha. The actress who played the female lead in the movie opposite Salman Khan, was seen again in 'Dabangg 2' (2012) which was directed by Arbaaz Khan himself. Now Salman and Arbaaz have officially announced that 'Dabangg 3' is finally happening, and is all set to hit the floors today in Indore. Salman earlier took to Instagram to make the announcement through a video clip which also featured Arbaaz, and they shared that the film's shooting will take place in two locations in Indore, which is also the actors' birthplace. Anyhow, this might also be the only kind of “fight” (at the box office) people shall get to see between Salman, Arbaaz and Arjun. Let's see how things pan out for the trio in the months to come.
  9. Have you ever imagined surviving on the internet without Google? Don't bother if you haven't, because it's not as easy as it sounds. I mean, just think about it for a minute. If you're using a Google-owned Android phone, then you're already out because that phone is probably one of the first things you check in the morning after you've woken up. Even a lot of iOS apps rely on Google's services. You take an Uber to work, you're using Google Maps data. You open Safari browser, you're again using Google's Search engine by default. In fact, even a lot of news websites, which you trust, run Google-owned ad services. © Pexels Look, I can pull out a lot of examples like this, but the point that I am trying to make here is that Google is everywhere. It's really difficult to avoid Google, and there's no easy way around it. That, however, isn't stopping a Reddit community from trying. A dedicated community which goes by 'r/deGoogle' on Reddit is filled with thousands of users trying to live a life without Google. The goal, apparently, is to try and avoid handing any personal information over to Google and its services. The subreddit, at its core, looks like a dumping ground for various links to apps and services which you can use without relying on Google. Think of the subreddit like a collection of 'tips and tricks' for surviving on the internet without Google. © Reddit - deGoogle Is it really possible to cut out Google from your life? The answer, unfortunately, is no. Yes, it's almost impossible to avoid Google without having a major effect on the way you use the internet. Between all of its products, Google has billions of users. Besides the Google search engine and other services like YouTube, G-Suite, etc., you're looking at Google's presence in other domains like artificial intelligence, fibre internet, and more. Heck, the company just announced its entry into the world of gaming with Stadia. Even if you manage to keep yourself away from these Google services, you're still relying on Google while using apps and services like Snapchat, Spotify, Pokemon Go. Why? Well, these services are all based on Google's Cloud platform. So as a netizen, you're relying heavily on Google in some way or the other. © BCCL Yes, it sounds a little terrifying considering how much Google knows about you and your day-to-day activities. Of course, there are ways to avoid Google and it's services up to an extent. However, if you choose to go that route, then you may have to make some serious alterations on the way you use the internet. In case you're interested, you can check out some ways with which you can cut out Google from your life here.
  10. The WWE has to be the Mecca for all the aspiring wrestlers and wrestling fans. No matter what corner of the world you are from, if you love that 20x20 foot ring, you have to know who The Undertaker, The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin are. In the modern era of the WWE, three superstars who are making a name for themselves and are loved unconditionally by the WWE Universe go by the names of Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods. Together forming 'The New Day', these performers have remained on top of the Tag-Team section for more than half a decade now. Some dreams will hit pause today, some others will prevail! We got a chance to catch up with the believers of the “Power of Positivity” and asked them a few questions about what it takes for a wrestler to become successful in the WWE. MensXP: Hi guys, we at MensXP absolutely love 'The New Day' and as you could have guessed, we have a huge following for the WWE and of course, you guys. So, why don't we start by discussing your stay here? How's India treating you? Kofi: India is treating us very well. We've been here several times now. People here are so friendly and welcoming is amazing, you know? There's great energy in here and we're happy to be here for sure. Big E: Being able to be part of the crowd in India and seeing the kind of talent and athletes they have here, including some very large and impressive humans as well. Everyone here is so warm and so welcoming. Ohh yes! What does it take for a performer to become that successful in an organisation as unique as the WWE? Kofi: It definitely takes passion and drive to be on top. We're always trying to figure out how we can entertain at the highest level. As passionate as the WWE Universe is, they deserve it. You're going to get told “no” a lot and you have to figure out how you're going to succeed. The 'Power of Positivity' is not just something that we preached on TV. We bring that mentality to the workplace. Big E: From a physical standpoint, being in great shape helps. People see it on TV and they think: “Oh, I got this,” and they find out that it takes a toll on you, so you have to be in great shape. You look at The Rock and the Stone Cold, those guys had it both. The athleticism and the ability to capture people's attention. Xavier: We are on the road for 200 days a year. You have to be mentally prepared for because that's one of the parts that people don't really talk about. What we do outside of the ring is rewarding. Also, who came up with the idea of The New Day as a concept? Was it you Xavier? Xavier: Yes. So for me, a gimmick or character is always better when it's you. At this point, if we were trying to be some tough dudes coming out kicking chairs all over, it's not something that necessarily fits what we are like in our personal lives. The three of us having this chemistry as the New Day, that has made it a lot easier and a lot more fun for us. MensXP: Are WWE stars possessive about the entrance music and the signature moves. How would you, Kofi Kingston react if you see Big E trying the 'Trouble in Paradise'? Big E: Well, can you imagine me attempting to do the 'Trouble in Paradise'? I would never! *Laughs* Kofi: If he can do the 'Trouble in Paradise', he can have the move. It would be the most impressive thing that I would have seen in a long time. It'd be all love. It's all good. Big E: I think for a lot of us, the keys to the business is standing out and having an identity that is memorable. So, I don't think we're possessive in a sense but yes, you want to stand out There's definitely people who are defensive, but for us, we kind of feel like we're in a nice niche. SUPER SUNDAY JUST GOT BETTER! ð The New Day has arrived and receives the traditional Indian welcome. ð¤©#TheNewDayInIndia #WWE #SPNSports @TrueKofi @WWEBigE @XavierWoodsPhD pic.twitter.com/kRJF84KtcO — SPN_Action (@SPN_Action) March 3, 2019 MensXP: You guys have the most bizarre narratives like coming out of the cereal box at Wrestlemania 32. So, how important is the art of storytelling for WWE superstars as yourselves? Xavier: It's everything. Yeah. Storytelling is huge. That's what captivates people and gets people's attention. It's great to be a great athlete, but if you're just a body, who really cares? In our industry, some people are great athletes but if they don't tell a story and they don't draw people in, they are no good. Big E: I think the best thing going right now in WWE is Kofi's story. After 11 years of being on the main roster and never getting that opportunity. That resonates with people. They are reacting the way they are because they've been along with him for this journey. Storytelling is huge.
  11. Samsung has officially unveiled that Galaxy S10 in which there's also a 5G model for the upcoming services that will be rolled out in the U.S. soon. As 5G becomes more readily available, we will see more smartphones with new wireless tech including in phones from OnePlus and other manufacturers. © YouTube However, this is not enough for the U.S. President Donald Trump as he urged wireless carriers to deploy G and "6G" networks "as soon as possible,” What President Trump forgot to check was that 6G tech does not exist at the moment. "I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible," Trump wrote on Twitter this morning. "It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind.” I want 5G, and even 6G, technology in the United States as soon as possible. It is far more powerful, faster, and smarter than the current standard. American companies must step up their efforts, or get left behind. There is no reason that we should be lagging behind on......... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 21, 2019 In a second tweet, Trump said that 5G and 6G are "so obviously the future.” 5G is being rolled out sooner than expected and users on a 5G network can download an episode of Game of Thrones in minutes. 5G will also enable users to stream games from the cloud on their devices without any lag. 5G will also let users communicate with each other via 4K video. © BCCL Trump's tweet comes after concerns that Chinese companies like Huawei are ahead of US companies at developing 5G tech. However, Trump's demand for 6G technology is quite baffling as 6G doesn't even exist as a concept, not even in theory. 6G wireless technology, if it even exists, is years away from being implemented in real life. However, Trump's tweet me just be a subtle push for US companies to get a head start on 6G tech.
  12. "...Math, science, history, unraveling the mysteries That all started with the big bang!" The Big Bang Theory song is everything you need to know about how we (read: Earth) came into existence. Although, to think about it, the first ever big bang marked the beginning of the world. Ever wondered what will happen if and when a second big bang happens? Even better - What is the last thing you would do if it all ended with a big bang? I think I am going to stuff myself with a cheesecake. Because why not? Who cares about carbs now that everything is coming to an end. Then again, it's me. So, I asked some what is the last thing they would do if it all ended with a big bang, and here are some of the top answers: 1. I think I am going to grow a pair and tell my crush how I felt about her for the last seven years. 2. I have been saving up for a solo Paris trip. Might as well do that! 3. Have *** for one last time! No doubt about that. 4. Delete texts. Because someone ALWAYS survives and I would not want to take that risk. 5. I think I am going to treat myself with every kind of biryani that is there on the menu. And oh, have beer too! 6. I am going to go up to my school bully and punch him hard in the face. No holds barred! 7. Have the last cigarette with my best friend. 8. Tell the next-door 'sanskari' aunty, "Your *** life cannot EVER be is as exciting as mine. And now you are going to die too!" 9. Watch my favourite show live from L.A. Now that can be a possibility. No kidding, guys! It really is. How, you ask? 13. Gyms are popping up everywhere nowadays like corn crops. The fitness industry is booming and so are the jobs. Getting a personal trainer certification is a joke and these 'certified' personal trainers are getting only more idiotic every year. If your gym trainer tells you any of these things, know that you are better off them or you need to find someone else: 1. Carbohydrates After Sunset Make You Fat There isn't any macronutrient timing. You can eat protein or fats or carbs whenever you want. It is your daily calorie intake that matters the most. Over-consuming calories over time will make you fat. Eating in a calorie deficit for long will make you lose weight. It comes down to that and not a particular diet. © Pixabay 2. For Your First 7 Days In The Gym, You Need To Do Only Cardio To Strengthen Your Muscles This is one of the most common sentences you will hear from any gym trainer across India https://www.mensxp.com/health/body-building/46579-5-useless-things-every-desi-gym-trainer-makes-people-do.html. You don't have to do cardio to strengthen your muscles. You are already doing cardio outside the gym like walking, climbing stairs, doing household works, etc. To strengthen your muscles you need to start with basic weight training exercises or body weight exercises. 3. Your Knees Shouldn't Pass Your Toes During Squats This is outright ridiculous and has led to more injuries in the gym than anything else. It is a pretty common statement by fitness enthusiasts and gym trainers. This is coming from a study which was done in 1972, in which, if the load on the bar increases then the joints will face a sheer force which will cause an injury to your knees. But the recent literature has proved that if the knees go past the toes with an upright posture, then it won't harm your knees. When your knees do not pass your toes, it can increase the risk of lower back injuries. Olympic weightlifters perform their main lift with their knees past their toes https://www.mensxp.com/health/body-building/49839-5-tips-to-fix-your-squat-and-avoid-knee-injuries.html. For a full range of motion, your knees passing your toes is completely fine. 4. Performing More Crunches Will Help You Lose Belly Fat Performing more crunches will help you to train and develop your ab muscles but not reduce your fat mass. A well-structured calorie deficit with high protein intake and combined with resistance training will help you to reduce fat mass. © Thinkstock 5. You Need To Inject Steroids To Get A Kick-Ass Physique If you want to finish your weight training journey soon then you can go ahead with it. Gym trainers often think injecting steroids will keep their steroids gains forever with them, but frankly speaking, they will stay with you till you inject. I'm not against steroids, it's completely an individual's decision, but saying that everyone who wants to build a great jaw-dropping physique needs them is wrong. Natural bodybuilding does exist and to build a great physique you need to prioritize your nutrition and training for years. Check out some cool natural dudes on Instagram like Alberto Nunez, Eric Helms, Ryan Dorris, etc. In the end, if any trainer prescribes or suggests you anything do some research on it before proceeding. As technology takes over more and more aspects of our life, it comes as no surprise that wearables are no longer limited to just smartwatches or smart wallets, but also include smart clothing that looks trendy and is a part of our day to day life. The Levi's Commuter jacket is a part of Google's Project Jacquard and is one of the first pieces of smart clothing available for consumers. The iconic bomber jacket combines Google's engineering efforts to bring wearables to the masses. © Levi's The Levi's Commuter jacket has Google's smart fabric woven in and has a bunch of smart features that can be triggered by gestures. The cuffs are touch sensitive, and with a simple brush or a swipe, you can control your music playback, turn on navigation and even respond to calls or texts without needing to touch your phone. All of this is achieved by a Snap Tag built inside the jacket, which connects to your phone with Bluetooth Low Energy and can be set up by using an app. Another feature called Always Together will ensure that you do not leave your phone or your jacket behind and will ring and flash if you happen to leave one of them behind. Considering how expensive phones have gotten, this could offer some peace of mind. © Levi's "You can use Always Together to make sure you do not leave behind your Jacquard Jacket or phone behind. When your phone and your jacket are separated, you will receive an alert on your phone. Your Snap Tag will also light up and vibrate" Google says. Talking about the jacket itself, it is a denim finish made of 100 percent cotton. The left sleeve has a pocket for easy access to the Snap Tag. It is not meant for extreme rough use as it can withstand only about 10 washes, of course, with the Snap Tag removed. The jacket costs US$ 350 which is about INR 25,000. A little pricey for something that you can do with a simple smartwatch or a fitness tracker. Though this is just among the first generation smart clothing and we expect to see more fashion labels get on board in the coming years.
  16. TV series have become all the rage over the last couple of years, more so with more and more of good quality shows hitting the tube constantly. The Indian web entertainment consumption has also upped its game with some real good stuff surfacing on the internet, be it in terms of the plot or the character sketches. So while we have turned into veterans when it comes to consuming gazillion tv series on multiple platforms, the experience has allowed us to discover some real good characters that have stayed with us over the years. © Television 360 All of us can think of this one (or fifteen) tv characters we can totally picture as the perfect version of the ideal girlfriend we have been seeking all this time! What's more, if we could have things our way, we would love to date them in real life, just the way they are. Since this seems to be a thing many of us share in common, but hardly get a chance to talk about openly, we decided to ask 6 TV series junkies to talk about that one female TV character they would totally want to date in real life. Here's what they said: 1. Phoebe - 'Friends' © Bright Kauffman Crane Productions “Many may have come and many may have gone, but no matter how many wonderful characters I discover on TV, there remains a constant in my life. Ever since I first laid my eyes on Phoebe! She is always so positive and totally knows how to have fun! She's a hustler but she also reminds you not to take life too seriously. She's so full of life, honest and confident, I could just go on and on. She's perfect!” - Joy, 26. 2. Gloria - 'Modern Family' © 20th Century Fox Television “I have always fancied Gloria from 'Modern Family'. It's been years but I always seem to go back to thinking about her when it comes to picking that one woman who would make life complete in some sense. This smart, feisty, loving, hot, happy woman who simply isn't scared to speak her mind is. She would definitely be the one for me.” - Samish, 28. 3. Penny - 'Big Bang Theory' © Chuck Lorre Productions “Penny for Big Bang Theory, any day. I love this easy going woman who isn't ashamed of who she is and her personal struggles. I mean, she might not be the smartest woman around but she has a good heart to make up for it. Her easy-going nature and social skills are two of my most fave qualities about her.” - Kartikey, 23. 4. Robin - 'How I Met Your Mother' © Television 360 “How can I ever pick anyone else over good ol' Robin Scherbatsky? She will make for a perfect date. She likes to drink and smoke and she's also into sports! Her beauty is only matched by her wit and brains. I've been crushing on the fiercely independent Robin since the very beginning." - Kunal, 27. 5. Daenerys Targaryen - 'Game of Thrones' © television 360 “Khaleesi all the way! She's totally kick ass. She knows how to make her way in a man's world, and come out fighting! She can take down anyone who tries to put her down, and speaks up not only for herself but others too. And when she rides those dragons, ultimate!” - Kaustav, 25. 6. Rosa Diaz - 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' © Fremulon “I have a major crush on Rosa Diaz, but one can get terrified by her too. She's amazing on so many levels – her love for action, her insatiable lust, and her distance from everyone else at the precinct. But she also bears this strong sense of loyalty and warmth, it hits you right in the feels.” - Prabhash, 26.
  17. We cue his movies any season or reason and there isn't a dearth of them at all. Yes, I am talking about the undisputed king of Bollywood- Shah Rukh Khan and the best of him, throughout our growing up years and now. Since it's his birthday today, we decided to celebrate it like everyone else is in Bollywood and maybe give away nuggets of his brilliant work, throughout the day. But even other than that we don't really need a reason to write about King Khan, do we? From giving us crazy blockbusters like 'DDLJ' & 'K3G' to standing in his quintessential pose, making all the women go weak in the knees, SRK has literally done it all. No wonder he's the king. He displays everything a king needs to have, doesn't he? © Twitter We love all of SRK's hits. Literally all of them! But there are some movies he's done which haven't really fared too well in the box office but have had a good script and some extremely good acting by the man himself. We'd classify that as some of his most underrated work, which needs to be seen more to be appreciated just as well as his hits. So, here's listing 5 of the most underrated movies SRK has ever been in, which are definitely a must watch. (1) Swades © UTV Motion Pictures I honestly don't know why this one failed in the box office. This is hands down one of SRK's best work. Based on a true life story about an NRI who comes back home in search for his true calling. Shah Rukh nailed the role to the T and gave us a brilliant performance. The music has definitely done great justice too. Remember, 'yun hi challa chal rahi'? Watch trailer here (2) Paheli © Red Chillies Entertainment Paheli is another brilliant scrip that didn't fair too well in the box office. It's the first of its kind fantasy film, done really tastefully, it makes your heart melt with the sheer benevolence. A ghost (played by SRK) falls in love a woman and does everything in his power to be with her. The movie is a remake of a 1973 Hindi movie 'Duvidha' by Mani Kaul. The cast is stellar and the story is beautiful. Definitely watch this when you want to watch a good Shah Rukh Khan movie. Watch trailer here (3) Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na © Shemaroo Video Pvt. Ltd. Come on, we've all loved this movie and watched it umpteen number of times when we were kids, didn't we? SRK's playful, boyish love stuck character definitely stood out and we hated the fact that he was left heartbroken in the end! But ,we still watch the movie any chance we get and definitely sing along to all its songs too! This one's a must watch if you're looking for a fun movie. Watch the trailer here (4) Yes Boss © Venus Records & Tapes Yes Boss was a simplistic drama of the 90s, which was really heart-warming and was liked by everyone who saw it. SRK plays the 'yes man' in the movie who literally does anything his boss asks him. But when his boss asks him to set him up with the girl Rahul (SRK) has the hots for, the movie takes a serious twist. We still love the songs from the movie and of course Shah Rukh and Juhi's adorbale onscreen chemistry. (5) Rab Ne Banaa Di Jodi © Yash Raj Films One of Shah Rukh's commercial endeavours under the Yash Raj Banner, this film was well put together and thought out. At least I enjoyed watching it thoroughly. It also happened to be Anushka Sharma's first ever in Bollywood. The film revolves around Anuhska marrying the introverted and timid SRK, against her will of course and SRK doing anything in his power to make conversations and keep her happy but she isn't happy with him. While enrolling in a dance competition, she's looking out for a dance partner and SRK dons the role of the extroverted and fun loving 'Raj' to win her love over. The only thing got me wondering was the fact that Anushka (Tanni) didn't realise Raj was her husband all through the movie! But it was a good watch regardless. Watch the trailer here So, there we have it. 5 most underrated SRK movies. Has he ever been an inspiration to you in anyway? I remember I had male friends when I was younger, who loved watching his movies and thank him today for teaching them that it's okay for men to show emotions and for them to cry. Kudos SRK, we wish you a 100 more years in Bollywood and in life!
  18. While we see the #MeToo movement pick up the pace in India, we also see men become a little more conscious of how they should talk and behave with women. In hindsight, it's a good thing but the very fact they have to be so conscious about their behaviour is a little sad. Sad because appropriate behaviour should be the foundation of every articulation and action taken by a man and if they have to put a conscious effort to do so, then it's rather unnerving. I am not negating the fact that men aren't making an effort in this generation, of course, they are and they're doing it quite well but the effort should come from a place of concern and reformation than fear of being named and shamed. Having said that, men wanting to date, hit on or hook up with women still hasn't changed and the culture still remains the same, barring some decorum changes, to say the least. But even with these decorum changes, you can offend a woman because momentarily, everything falls under the realms of sensitivity. How to meet women is still the question of the hour, and you should definitely find more ways and means to do so. As long as you keep up with the standards of appropriateness, it's all good folks. Tinder and other dating apps are still your go-to place to meet the women you really want to date or hook up with. How to start a conversation with them though, is what's important here. So, I rounded up 10 women and asked them what was the best conversation starter for men on Tinder (and other dating apps) to stay on the 'safer side' and I got some rather interesting replies: (1) Tinder is usually a scary place for me and I never really initiate a conversation there. But this one time a guy started off by being humorous and I humoured him because he was actually funny. I think it's best to start with something funny, to be on the safer side. He started his message by saying - 'Titanic. There's an icebreaker'. How could I not talk to him! - Sakshi, 28 © YouTube (2) I think the best way to start a conversation on a dating app is by saying a simple 'hey'. I can't stand it when men try too hard and crack really sad line openers, which no one understands. - Ragini, 22 (3) I'd really like a guy who'd just stop being cocky and start by saying 'hey how was your day?'. Because it's good to talk about your day with someone. Hasn't happened so far. - Sonya, 28 (4) I once went out with the guy on Tinder who asked me if it's okay to DM me further. I found it so humble, I thought I was in safe hands. - Sanya, 25 (5) The whole thing is to make a person feel safe. So please don't be creepy. I think the best opening line for Tinder is 'Hey, what's up'. Simple. Nitisha, 30 (6) I can't stand guys who show off. So if you want to start with an 'I own a BMW and I've been to 32 countries'. Like what's wrong with these men? - Rhea, 25 (7) I'd like it if the men out there are not sexist or put you down and talk with civility and not get persuasive. Because then that gets scary. So a good opener would be 'hey, it would be nice to get to know you'. Something like that? - Mika, 24 (8) 'Hi, I know we don't know each other but I'd like to take a chance and get to know you because we have similar interests!' - said no one ever. I wish they'd say something like this, instead of a cheesy pickup line. I barf every time that happens! - Kanishka, 27 (9) Can they please stop with the cheesy pickup lines? It's just annoying now. And it gives a sense of entitlement. I mean, I'm entitled to say anything I want and she has to laugh. Why can't they just say 'hey'. I promise women will respond and not unmatch you. - Tarini, 29 (10) Anything without being creepy, crude or horny works just fine. Even a simple 'hi' - Sukanya, 19 So, there we have it. Ten women telling us to keep it simple when you're interacting with someone on an online dating platform. Because this is what the need of the hour is. We want to continue the normalcy but also not promote ways that are offensive. So maybe say something really funny or something really grounded, like a 'hi'!
  19. The fitness industry, and in particular, the supplement industry is growing rapidly. As per the statistics, the supplement industry was worth $32 billion in 2012 and is expected to become worth $60 billion by 2021. That is almost a 100% growth in less than 10 years time. Every time you visit a fitness expo, 10 new companies pop up selling protein supplements and claim to be better than the others. It's a melee of supplement companies out there. The Protein Spiking Scam Most consumers do not know that some companies run a little scam known as 'amino/protein spiking' where they dump cheap ingredients into their powders to pass tests and claim a higher protein content than they truly have. © Thinkstock Images In this piece, I shall give you information on how the companies do this and how you, as a consumer, can look out for it and not fall prey to these scams. With the growing education and information that whey protein is not just for bodybuilders, and that it can be used by anyone looking to get a convenient source of protein in their diets, the demand for the same has gone up. A lot of companies saw this opportunity and started to lure consumers with a fishnet called 'low price.' That's right, the companies fool you with what is in the supplement and on the promise of saving money, sell questionable stuff to you. This Scam Is Run By Spiking Protein. How Is It Done? © Thinkstock Images The 'amino/protein spiking' is done by adding cheap amino acids like glycine and taurine into the protein powders or non-proteinogenic (protein building) amino acids such as creatine and beta-alanine into the mix. They then get lab reports for nitrogen content of the protein powder and not that of the individual amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein. By these results, every amino acid (protein building or not) gets counted as protein but not all amino acids help you build muscle protein. THAT IS THE SCAM! Let's take an example: you are shopping for protein powder and the label on the front of the package reads '25 grams protein per serving with 5 grams creatine and 5 grams beta-alanine' but the individual amino acid profile is not listed behind the package. What you read it as - This supplement has 25 grams protein per scoop. What it may mean - This supplement has 25 grams - 5 grams of beta-alanine - 5 grams of creatine - 15 grams protein per scoop. If the individual amino acids are not listed on the package, there is no sure way to know. Coming to the solution of the problem here, how do you make an educated guess about the quality of the supplement before giving away your money? This 3-Step Guide Will Help You: Step 1: Look At The Ingredient Label & For The Leucine Content If the ingredient label at the back of the package says 'proprietary blend' without giving a breakdown of what are the ingredients in that blend, chances are that the manufacturer is dumping some cheap amino acids into the mix and hiding it from you. Step 2: If There Is Leucine Listed There, How Much Is It? Leucine is an amino acid that kick-starts the muscle protein synthesis in your body. Approximately 10% of the protein serving should be leucine. If a whey protein has 25 grams of protein per serving, 2.5 grams or more should come from leucine. If it falls short at this, do not buy the product. Another step here is to check how much of the protein serving is taken up by the BCAA profile. BCAA's are leucine, isoleucine, and valine. We already know now that the product we are looking at should have all the individual amino acids listed in their individual quantities at the back of the label. The BCAA should account for 20 to 25% of the total protein per serving. So, in the same example of 25 grams protein per scoop, the BCAA profile should add up to 5 to 7.5 grams minimum. © Thinkstock Images Step 3: Compare It With The Average Per Serving Price Of The Products In The Market Whey is sold by hundreds of manufacturers online, which is the best place you can look it up. On an average, the cost per scoop of a supplement that has 25 grams protein per serving is anywhere between 60 to 80 rupees. One kilo of whey usually has 30 servings, thus putting the cost of one-kilo packaging between Rupees 1800 to 2400. If you see that the cost of the product you are purchasing is way off this territory and unless there is some offer or a sale going on, it may be a better choice to steer clear of that brand. I hope this article makes selecting a whey protein supplement an easier task for you and keeps you safe from the scams run by a few manufacturers. 20. The fitness industry, and in particular, the online fitness industry, is a booming one. When something is booming and doing really well, a lot of opportunists drop by. They do everything possible to fool the audiences and make a quick buck out of it. The online fitness industry and, especially the YouTube scene, have become quite popular these days. Every day hundreds of videos related to fitness are released generating tens of thousands of views, likes, and comments. Nothing wrong with it, but the same powerful tool to reach the audiences has been given in the hands of these opportunists. Here are a few claims that you should look out for before consuming their content or following their advice: 1) They say that getting in shape can be done for FREE Now getting into shape requires two things mainly—a gym membership and a good diet. None of these come truly free of cost. Though you could argue that one can do HIIT workout or bodyweight workout at home and that is true, only to a certain extent. After a point, to get stronger or to build more muscle, you need to progressively overload, i.e. lift more weights. Buying those progressive weights for home and setting it up is much more costly than a gym. So yeah, getting in shape cannot be done for FREE. © YouTube 2) They teach you how to burn belly fat/face fat/arm fat If you know anything about fitness so far, you know that spot reduction is not truly possible and doing a thousand crunches or chewing on bubble gum all day won't do much for you to lose fat. To lose fat, you have to eat lesser calories and to get into good shape, you need to include some resistance training into your routine. How to lose belly fat or arm fat or face fat? Absolute lies! 3) They say they are running the channel for charity and then sell their supplement products or merchandise to you YouTube is a legitimate career nowadays and many YouTubers or creators work full time on it to earn a living. There is nothing bad about it as money is a necessity. But if they say they are all doing it to spread knowledge and end their video with a link to a supplement product or a discount code, you can outright question their morals and intentions. Make your money. Just do not lie to your audiences who support you. © YouTube 4) Fake transformations as thumbnails A very easy way these YouTubers generate thousands of views on their videos is by having clickbait captions or extreme transformation images. Sometimes, these thumbnails are of their clients that are in reality years apart but are claimed as months apart, and sometimes by simply downloading them off the internet. Want to check if the transformation is truly theirs? Do a Google reverse image search and if you find it elsewhere, you know what the actual story is. 5) They claim they know a magic trick and can give you results in a matter of days Everyone who has been working in the fitness industry or a person who has worked with a fitness coach or a personal trainer knows that the first couple of weeks go into the coach or the trainer understanding the client's lifestyle, adherence to the plan, their sustainability, compliance and the likes. Post that, the results get a bit faster. But if a YouTuber without knowing any of these tells you that he can give you results in a matter of days, you know the reality. Stay safe and be a critical thinker before consuming and believing any piece of information. Author bio: Pratik Thakkar is the co-founder and director of GetSetGo Fitness, an online fitness company. 21. Men, let me tell you one thing. Women check you out even before agreeing to go out on a date with you, and if you fail in their style or 'presence' meter, you're not making it anywhere with them. First impressions go all the way and you wouldn't want to fail in that department now, would you? When you get dressed in the morning, you obviously want to look good for yourself and make yourself irresistible to the ladies. That will only happen with two things- always listen to the ladies in your life about style, and stop wearing jeans that are tighter than JLo's butt. © Facebook We rounded up 12 women and asked them about the sexiest, most attractive things men can wear or don (thank us later?) and here's what they had to say : A Nice Fitted Suit © Eros International "I like a man who can fit into a nice suit and show his body off. Of course, he needs to be lean and have a decent body to show it off through his suit. I don't like men who dress up scruffy, especially for a formal occasion or wear loose clothes. I mean, what's the deal with cargo shorts and a tee that hangs on you like you're a hanger"? - Priyanjali, 32. A Pair Of Nice Boxers © Thinkstock "I am a big sucker for men in their boxers. Yeah, it's probably the same as men having a thing for women in their underwear, but this is different. I'd like my man to roam about the house in nothing but boxers and it would turn me on, instantly! I think boxers should become a legit thing to wear outdoors"! - Kritika, 30 White Tee & Jeans © Pinterest "This fetish for seeing men in a white T-shirt and jeans started with my obsession with John Abraham and I fall weak on my knees when I see any man dressed like that. Support the jeans with a good belt and you're golden!" - Khushboo, 29 A Pair Of Good Sneakers © Pinterest "Basic good sneakers can go a long way and can be pulled off with a pair of cargos or denims even. I am not too big a fan of colourful sneakers but a basic black or white would do. Even a good pair of Converse is quite cool on a guy". - Hinakshi, 23 A Pink Tee/Shirt © Twitter "For me, pink is associated with positive emotions and if a guy can pull the colour off, it's really sexy. A nice light/baby pink shirt looks remarkable on a man. Who says pink is only meant for girls?" - Deepti, 28 Chinos © Pinterest "It's a refreshing change to see a man in a pair of well-fitted chinos, than the regular denims or pants. Khakhi chinos look really amazing on men and if they have a great butt, it's a double whammy"! - Akanksha, 33 Polo T-Shirts © Paramount Pictures "I like men in Polo tees and prefer them to v-necks or round necks any day. They look comfortable, stylish and suave, all at the same time. They're also the best thing to wear if you want to experiment with different colours." - Harshleen, 25 A Pair Of Aviators © Twitter "Oh man, whenever I see a guy in aviators, I just want to go right up ahead and get to know him better! They look so hot on men and they're the most stylish, old-school things that will never lose their charm! A man walking down the street in a pair of good aviators is surely going to turn some heads around" - Mansi, 35 A V-Neck Sweater © Yash Raj Films "I have a thing for men in solid v-neck sweaters. I think they look rather classy with denims or with a pair of pants even and it can be used for both formal and informal wear. Solid colours define the actual taste of a man. So, if I see a man in a nice blue v-neck, I'll definitely check him out"! - Gauri, 24 A Black Henley © Pinterest "Henley's are cool and can be worn with anything, from shorts, to cargos, to denims to even pants. It's a step up from a t-shirt and great for casual weekend wear, I think. Guys pulling off a Henley look darn confident. I LOVE the colour black, so a black one does the trick pretty well" - Prachi, 27 Rolled Sleeves © Twitter "I love men who roll their shirt sleeves up and show their forearms off. Boy, that's such a turn on! It just makes it seem like he's kicking back and relaxing after doing some rugged work all day. I always insist my man on rolling his sleeves up, haha"! - Natasha, 30 Mufflers & Beanies "Men in winters have to look warm fuzzy and hot, all at the same time. They should be like a cup of nice warm tea. Making you feel really good! I love men wearing caps, hoodies and beanies for the winter with a nice warm muffler. They look so tempting"! - Trisha, 29 So, there we have it. 12 women revealing what looks the most attractive to them in a man, in terms of accessories and clothing. Wear this stuff in front of them, and you're golden. Apart from these clothes, you need two more things though. An ounce of confidence and a smile that lights your face up, to match your outfit!
  22. Netflix's 'Sacred Games', directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikaramaditya Motwane, has left all of us shaken. Dark, uncensored, and raw, the show captures Mumbai's mafia underbelly in its most honest and disturbing form. We bring you some hard-hitting lessons about survival in the modern world that 'Sacred Games' taught us. 1. Your success is not complete till you start hanging out with the right people © Netflix Hard work is not always a yardstick of success, sometimes who you hang out with matters more. Kukoo tells a smitten Gaitonde to steal her from Isa, the reigning king of the Mumbai mafia, and prove his mettle. It is then that Gaitonde realises Kukoo is the yardstick to his success. By winning her, he wins over Mumbai – he sends out a message that the most coveted woman is by his side. 2. The allies you choose to be on your side can make or break your future © Netflix We think we are alone in our journeys to success or failure, but we are just a sum total of the experiences we choose and also the ones we don't. We choose our friends, our aides, our partners. And every person we choose to be with and listen to affects our decisions and outlook towards life, even without us realising. While a Kukoo could catapult Gaitonde's image to the god of mafia town, an unfaithful employee got his best man killed. 3. Power doesn't come from a having muscular bod or a fat bank balance, it comes from the courage in your heart © Netflix Ganesh Gaitonde becomes the undisputed god of Mumbai's underbelly. In a world run by guns and muscle power, here is a petite skinny man calling the shots. In the jungle, when confronted by a tiger, he stares right back at the beast with courage that even the beast can sense – that, right there, is when he wins over the town. Not with muscle, not with power, but with sheer courage. 4. In times of crisis, we are stronger than we think © Netflix No matter how easily scared we are or how meek-hearted, we're capable of infinite strength and courage in times of crisis. The human spirit is immensely strong and its strength comes out in full force when it faces danger enough to kill it. Ganesh Gaitonde faces soul-crushing misery in prison and almost gives up. One word of comfort from a stranger and he is ready to fight again. 5. There is no perfect time for anything; you have to make things happen © Netflix If you keep waiting for it, it will never happen. You will never be fully prepared. After a point of time, you have to take a chance and grab the opportunity you want. Waiting for every condition to be favourable will only leave you with lost opportunities. A restless Gaitonde grabs the single moment he finds his second boss alone in a river, even though his only friend Mathu has abandoned the plan and he has nothing to fall back on. 6. Most of us play a small part in someone else's bigger plan © Netflix Working day in day out, we keep following a pattern already set for us. Whether it's the job we take up, the career we chose, our decisions are hardly our own. We don't even realise when our will ceases to function and we give in to expectations and fads. Even Gaitonde, who wrote his own destiny, eventually ends up at the mercy of forces stronger than him. Chances are he is a mere pawn in the hands of Bhonsle and Guruji, who represent the dangerous alliance of politics and religion. 7. Love is not bound by gender © Netflix When Gaitonde falls in love with Kukoo, he falls for not just her body. He tells her he no longer wants 'Kukoo ka magic', he wants the real Kukoo. The fact that she is transgender doesn't bother him; he has already fallen in love with the person and doesn't care whether she has a ***** or a vagina. 8. Religion can turn even the most secular of men © Netflix Nothing is more powerful than religion in convincing someone. The masses are an easy subject for practitioners of religion to sway and influence. Ganesh Gaitonde was steadfast in his decision to not let religion enter Gopal Math and did not give too hoots about religion. And yet when he lost his wife Subhadra to a gang war, communal hatred crept in and took the better of him. 9. When you think the worst has happened, there's more to come © Netflix Life is not a feel-good self-help book that tells you everything will always be better. Gaitonde's plight in prison is disturbingly pitiful. After being given the horrible egg cell punishment for days, when he eventually gets out, he is broken but relieved that the ordeal has ended. Real life hits when he realises he is mistaken – there is impending death waiting for him in the form of Isa's men. 10. No one is invincible © Netflix Right in the beginning of the show, Ganesh Gaitonde says “Kabhi kabhi toh lagta hai apun hi bhagwan hai”. He is the undisputed king of his world. Wanted in tons of police cases, he manages to live away from the hands of the law and rule freely over his fiefdom. But in the end, even he falls apart. Taken in by the police, he disintegrates into a mere speck of pity and despondency, ready to give up on life as he pleads Parulkar for a sip of water. Disclaimer: This post does not intend to glorify the violent means adopted by the characters of the show to achieve their means. The lessons derived are only symbolic in their meaning.
