  1. After Tanhaji's phenomenal success, Saif Ali Khan is busy promoting his upcoming film Jawaani Jaaneman along with co-stars Tabu and Alaya Furniturewala that is set to release on February 7, 2020. During his recent promotional outings, Saif Ali Khan has usually been seen outside in the most rad outfits that we've seen this year. Case in point, this outfit inspired by a cowboy western film. Check it out here: © Viral Bhayani Saif is seen wearing a ripped denim jacket with embellishments and frills, regular denim jeans, a pair of white dirty sneakers and he has rounded off the look with his classic mustache which adds a charm to his cowboy aesthetic. However, his sneakers too held the outfit together. Here's why: The sneakers that he's wearing are the Nike Air Force 1 '07 Premium 2. The silhouette is designed to add a bit of 2000s nostalgia. The leather and synthetic upper offers a premium feel from toe to heel, while a colourful jelly Swoosh design and back tab add a playful twist. This pair of sneakers is priced at Rs 10,995. © Viral Bhayani We wonder if Saif Ali Khan ( https://www.mensxp.com/fashion/celebrity-style/70980-saif-ali-khan-stepped-out-wearing-velvet-pants-for-the-airport.html ) had, in fact, dirtied these sneakers to get the look. Irrespective of that, his outfit indeed looks put together rather tastefully. View the full article
  2. Trump at the WEF. Photo by: AFPAddressing an audience in Davos on Tuesday that included Swedish teenage campaigner Greta Thunberg, US President Donald Trump lashed out at climate change activists, describing them as "perennial prophets of doom". "We must reject the perennial prophets of doom and their predictions of the apocalypse," said Trump, hours after Thunberg told the World Economic Forum that governments had done "basically nothing" to reverse climate change. Trump, who is in Davos along with other world leaders to address the annual summit, continued his criticism of climate change activists. Back home, an impeachment trial against the US president has begun. Democrats have called on the Senate to remove Trump from office, describing him as a danger to American democracy and national security. Trump and his lawyers have decried his impeachment, saying he has done nothing wrong and that Democrats are simply trying to stop him from being re-elected. The televised trial is expected to hear opening arguments in the Republican-controlled Senate this week, and votes could take place as early as Tuesday on the rules governing the trial. This would include deciding whether the Senate should at a later date consider subpoenas for witnesses, such as Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton. The chamber’s 100 members must decide whether to convict Trump on charges approved by the Democratic-led House of Representatives on Dec. 18, accusing him of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress arising from his dealings with Ukraine.

  4. For the viewers who have been waiting with bated breath to see Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan romance together in Love Aaj Kal, the wait is finally over. The makers have finally released the first poster of the much awaited movie and it has garnered mixed responses on social media. Helmed by Imtiaz Ali, the film bears the same title as 2009 hit film Love Aaj Kal that featured Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in titular roles. Also, adding to the excitement of the fans, they announced that the trailer is scheduled to be released tomorrow. Sara recently took to her social media account to share the poster and introduce Kartik and her characters. The caption read, âMeet Veer and Zoe. Come get wound up in our whirlwind wonderland.â It looks like the people are totally loving this new onscreen couple. Both the actors exude effortless chemistry in the poster which showcases Sara lying on top of Kartik as she holds his hand. Director Imtiaz also wrote on his social media handle, âMeet Veer & Zoe, captured in their element. It's in these simple, candid moments that love plays peekaboo, right?â Interestingly, the dreamy poster also mentions a timeframe of 1990 to 2020. This is maybe to hint that the filmâs story will span across 30 years. Check out the poster here The Imitiaz Ali directorial is a romantic drama film and the plot of the movie is currently unknown leaving fans curious to find out more about the movie. In addition to that, fans have named the most loved duo as #Sartik and are looking forward to watching them on the big screens on February 14 this year. 5. Kangana Ranaut was 'demanded' by armed thugs to take selfies with themKangana Ranaut, one of the most outspoken actors in Bollywood, is afraid of no one. Not even armed thugs. Proving just that, the 33-year-old Queen actor during her appearance at The Kapil Sharma Show recalled an incident that left fans taken aback and startled. The actor revealed that during the filming process of Revolver Rani, the crew had taken to the unsafe locations of Chambal where they had an encounter with armed thugs and robbers who had forced her to take a selfie with them. “We shot the film in the actual locations of Chambal. The director mentioned it’s a risky area and not an ideal place for shooting a film, but we shot there irrespective to make it realistic,” she said. “I asked him why he had brought us to shoot in the place. He had just one thing to say that I am brave enough to face them,” she added. She further revealed: “We met a group of dacoits when we were returning from that area. They demanded a selfie with me. Kabir, who is a good friend, protected me.”
  6. Farhan Akhtar is currently prepping for his film Toofan which is set to release on October 2, 2020. This is probably the reason why you see him in his bulky yet ripped avatar these days. But once in a while, he takes a break from shooting. © Viral Bhayani This is when he spends time with his family. Recently, when he had stepped out with his family and his girlfriend, Shibani Dandekar for dinner, he wore a rather interesting outfit. Firstly, this was a casual dinner so no one was particularly dressed up amongst the lot. However, Farhan Akhtar was seen in pants that were not only quirky but at the same time, relatively more functional than any other pair of pants that we've seen in a while. Take a look here: © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani The interesting element of his pants is the pockets. The pair have extremely long pockets, so much so that a tonne of things can fit in them. Pockets with that kind of space aren't designed anymore, it's luxury to have pockets at all these days in pants. And here we have Farhan Akhar with pockets the size of a bum bag. We wouldn't be surprised if he isn't carrying a bag at all. In fact, the pockets are enough to fit-in both Farhan and Shibani's personal knick-knacks together. In fact, they're big enough to hold an iPad and a phone, among other things without filling up the pocket. But seeing the incredible amount of space that these pants hold, we just hope that we're also lucky enough to find a pair of pants with pockets this size for ourselves. View the full article
  7. Varun Dhawan's film, Street Dancer is releasing this month. No surprise then he's bringing his A-game to promote the film. It all started a month back, from teaching Charlotte Flair never-seen-before steps from one of the songs of Street Dancer to pulling off stunts in an auto with fellow actor Shraddha Kapoor, and even recently, working up his disco-aesthetic to an almost unrecognisable look. © Viral Bhayani But if there's something that clearly stands out every time Varun puts his best foot forward, it's exactly that. (his rad kicks) Case in point, the time when he was with Prabhu Deva, he wore the Reebok by Pyer Moss Experiment 4 Fury Trail silhouette with a quirky outfit, also by Reebok by Pyer Moss' collection. © Viral Bhayani The sneaker is nothing like we've ever seen before. With the sneaker being split into three different layers, the silhouette represents the climb to success in the face of adversity, the first section utilizes rubberized leather and hard protective TPU to shield the rest of the shoe. The third and final section features deconstructed and soft materials for the inner tongue, the outer tongue, and the lining. Take a look: © Reebok © Reebok This is a rather fitting outfit for Street Dancer promotions considering it highlights the street dance aesthetic as well. Street Dancer is set to release on 24 January 2020, so we're hoping to find some of Varun's best looks in the film. View the full article
  8. Maintaining hair follicles is already a difficult job. From using the wrong type of products to getting a wrong haircut, there are plenty of mistakes that can ruin your overall your appearance. To bring an end to it so your follicles stay safe. You don't need to blame your barber or diet routine anymore because there's a fix to everything. Here's how you can steer clear of common hair mistakes. 1. Being Rough With Your Scalp A busy schedule can make you rush to shower. It might look like this won't cause any issue but it's actually weakening the hair follicles and also increasing the risk of dandruff. Instead, rub the shampoo in your palms and gently apply it on your scalp. This promotes hair growth without spoiling your hair texture. © istock 2. Using Two In One Shampoo/Conditioner If you think it is a good deal, you are highly mistaken. Shampoo and conditioner both have different jobs for the hair. The shampoo helps in cleaning up your pores and it also helps to get rid of accumulated dirt. Conditioner, on the other hand, acts as a moisturising agent. Don't bother using 2-in-1 products and instead get different items. © istock 3. Over Styling Sometimes the fragrance of hair products can make you use it more than necessary. Applying hair styling products excessively can be disastrous for your follicles. Instead, invest in a decent comb and hair styling products. Be it wax or gels, choose it as per your hair type to get the most out of it and avoid hair mistakes. © istock 4. Wrong Hairstyle Your favourite actor can probably pull off a particular hairstyle because it suits the face type. Now, if you plan on getting something similar impulsively, well, that will be the biggest mistake of your life. Don't get carried away and let the hairdresser do his job. Check for hairstyles that suit your face type and then recreate it in versatile ways. © Instagram,Hakim Aalim View the full article
  9. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is one of the most influential cricket boards in the world. Some even believe that they are so powerful that they dominate the International Cricket Council (ICC) because of the unbelievable fan-following the sport enjoys in the country. One would therefore presume that the members of the organisation would be well prepared to combat any sort of crisis ahead of an international match and that too on home turf and not put their reputation in jeopardy. But the first of three T20I matches which was scheduled to take place in Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium would force you to think otherwise. © AP Rain is one of the biggest enemies of the game of cricket and it is a mandate for every state-level cricket association to be prepared for dicey weather. However, the Assam Cricket Association did a disappointing job in dealing with the water as the covers used to protect the pitch were reportedly leaking. According to Akash Chopra who was reporting the on-field conditions, the water seemed to be seeping out of the covers and led to the formation of damp patches on the pitch. © AP As if that wasn't enough, the best counter-solution to the issue that the organisation could come up with was to use vacuum cleaners, hair dryers and steam irons to dry the wet spots! Obviously failing in their attempts, the match had to be abandoned without a single ball bowled and the Guwahati crowd didn't get to experience what could have been the first international match in three years. Despite the horrible preparation (which was barely any) it was the warm spirit of the fans present at the venue that kept the night alive. While the game was put on hold, the entire Barsapara stadium sang 'Vande Matarum' together and created a memorable moment. 10. Realme is following the footpaths of Xiaomi by introducing advertisements on their smartphones. This move may have come to offset the cost of offering affordable smartphones to capture market share in India. Having advertisements on your smartphone's UI can be annoying but thankfully, there is a way to turn them off on Realme phones. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The advertisements on Realme phones will be a part of ColorOS6 and probably ColorOS 7 once it rolls out. The advertisement feature is carefully worded as the company describes it as "commercial content recommendation”, where it will promote applications and commercial links. These advertisements will appear in the Phone Manager app and the Security Check pop-up after installing a new application. The announcement for ColorOS6 to display ads was announced via a post on Realme official forum. Having said that, Realme has given the option to their users to turn off these recommendations and advertisements on ColorOS. The recommendations can be turned off by going to Settings> Additional Settings > Get Recommendations and turn off "Receive app and content recommendations in system apps.” © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Realme will have the recommendations on by default and it has to be turned off manually by following the above steps. As of now, this is the only way to disable advertisements while using Realme phones in India. An alternative way to disable the ads is by setting up the phone for a different region which also works for Xiaomi phones. As of now, Realme phones only support advertisements for a few regions and you can try to set up your new Realme phone in a different region to avoid these advertisements. View the full article
  11. Besides Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, if there's another thing that still makes us laugh out loud, it is Sunny Singh's dialogue “Chal Jhoothi”. Even though he is low-key with his appearances, the time when he does make one, we can't help but notice all his looks. © Viral Bhayani Another thing that strikes the most about him is the fact that he is a low-key sneakerhead too. While we have seen many elite B-town stars making a statement in chunky pair of sneakers, Sunny accentuates his outfit wearing a snazzy pair that's also affordable. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Recently, he was spotted with his co-star Sonnalli Seygall, promoting his upcoming movie, Jai Mummy Di. He wore a black tracksuit that had the whole athleisure vibe to it. Even though the outfit had a street-style edge to it, did you see the way he took it a notch higher with his sneakers? We scoured and found that they are not just any pair but he legit wore 'alien' sneakers with bubble sole. If you are wondering what they are, take a look here! © Puma © Puma Sunny is wearing Puma's Cell Alien OG sneakers. The pair includes bubble heel that grants instant comfort to this pair. For running, this pair makes for the best choice. The mesh upper, rubber outsole, IMEVA midsole adds grip and traction. Furthermore, the pair has branding on the tongue. © Viral Bhayani The pair is designed in vibrant hues of blue, neon and white. The reason why its called alien sneakers is due to its edgy construction with a bubble sole that we have not seen on any other pair so far. It's a fantastic and an outlandish pair that easily passes off as one of the edgiest one of 2019. The maximum grip and durability make this one a must-have and why not? They are available just for Rs. 6,000 on Puma's website. It's a great investment and if you really wish to hoard a pair that's OTT, consider these sneakers. Well done, Sunny! View the full article

  13. The environment we live in definitely needs some form of aggressive intervention. And by that I mean some heavy-duty preventives that can ease up the corruption that has made a patterned stronghold around certain practices that are environmentally hazardous. And that is why the International Anti-Poaching Foundation (IAPF) has recruited women to protect the world's natural heritage along Africa's Zambezi river and they're doing a phenomenal job of it. © Environews Twitter The group is called Akashinga, which means 'Brave Ones'. It's a privately funded and highly trained, vegan group of local women who come from rather disadvantaged backgrounds, who are assigned to protect the natural habitat of the lower Zambezi ecosystem. The organisation aims to hire and train about 2,000 women who will protect about 30 million acres of African wild lands by 2030. Imagine having a fully armed anti-poaching team full of women. Now that's something no one thought of before and something that will probably change the way the world looks at women and their role in society. Akashinga was founded in 2017, by an Australian Special Operations soldier, Damien Mander, as a part of his efforts to completely end poaching all across the jungles of Africa. The team is fully armed and is giving tactical and arms and ammunition training before they're given arms to fight the poachers. © Environews Twitter “Many current western solutions to conserve wilderness areas continue to struggle across the African continent, hampered by ongoing corruption, nepotism and a lack of partnership with local communities,” Mander told a popular environmental publication in an interview. "We saw that an alternative and highly innovative approach was needed, a response that worked with, rather than against, the local population for the long-term benefit of both their own communities and nature,” he added. Most forest reserves in Africa, especially the Lower Zambeni ecosystem, are areas with large tracts of land, which are usually used for trophy hunting and are not a part of the wildlife preserve. But even so, the animals from the protected area wander off into the areas where trophy hunting is common and fall prey to hunters. But the Akashinga represents an alternative for conserving wildlife in these parts by following the technique of big game management. “You cannot sustain an ongoing offensive against the local population as a means of conservation. The long-term solution depends on winning the hearts and minds of the community,” Mandar told the BBC in an interview. © Environews Twitter After the death of Cecil the lion in 2015, by a dentist from the USA, Walter Palmer, it leaves the big question of whether or not morals and ethics in hunting are sustainable in the long term. In all probability, if hunting isn't put an end to, it will be difficult to save these areas which are vulnerable homelands to a lot of species residing there. Mander realised the importance of being a vegan while fighting poaching. He even hired people who were ready to accept veganism, leaning towards the belief that it would be hypocritical to fight for animals and come back and eat more animals. “I don't miss meat at all, when I go home for leave and people try to feed me meat, I can't eat it because my stomach hurts if I do, and I tell people no, don't give me meat, I am vegan,” - An Akahinga ranger, Vimbai Kumire, told a popular publication in an interview. © Environews Twitter Other than turning vegan, the training for these women is hardcore. Well, it really has to be, since they're fighting criminals in the wild! The women are pushed hard and go beyond their threshold to endure what the actual reality can be in the wild. “Thirty-six women started our training, modelled on our special-forces training, and we pushed them hard, much harder than any training we do with men — we put them through hell,” Mander told a popular publication in an interview. He also revealed that out of the 36 women, only three gave up the training because it was too intense for them. Even though anti-poaching rules and laws are a bit sluggish around the world and not just in Africa, we need vigilant teams such as the Akashinga to monitor the most heinous crimes against animals. We're programmed to fight for our kind and our species but when we go beyond that and fight for animals, we go beyond our own selfish reasoning to help a species that we can't communicate with. © International Anti Paoching Foundation What Mander is doing in Africa is remarkable, especially with the inclusion of women and such anti-poaching squads should be set up all around the world, where forest lands along with their ecosystems are in grave danger. 14. Ronaldo defied his age and seemingly gravity. Photo: ESPN FC TwitterJuventus on Friday applauded Cristiano Ronaldo after his incredible leap to score the winner against Sampdoria pushed the Italian champions top of Serie A. Ronaldo, 34, defied his age and seemingly gravity on Wednesday when he met Alex Sandro's looping cross with what the club called "no ordinary header". "As he rose up into the air, where he seemingly hung suspended for a split second of time, Ronaldo reached an impressive height of 2.56m (8 foot 4 inches) when his head connected to the ball," Juventus said on its website. "He jumped 71cms off the ground to nod in his 11th headed goal since joining Juventus." The incredible goal just before half-time put Juve on 42 points, three ahead of Inter ahead of their match with struggling Genoa on Saturday. Fans on Twitter noted that Ronaldo has previously headed goals by jumping 2.93 metres against Manchester United in 2013 and 2.61 metres against Wales in 2016.
  15. Remember that scene from Aamir Khan's movie PK, where he smears sindoor on a small rock, keeps it next to a tree and suddenly everyone starts worshipping it thinking it's an idol of a deity? PK also taught us that you don't need a middleman if you want something from God. While most of us shared a good laugh and thought that Bollywood, like always, was at its exaggerating best; there's one man who proved that such incidents happen in real life too and they're quite effective. He too sought help from the Gods to save the trees. The man is Paragdutt Mishra, an environmental activist from Uttar Pradesh's Gonda. © Pexels For years, environmental activists in India and across the world have been trying their best to educate and encourage people to save trees. But, all it took for Mishra to save a single tree was some paint, brushes, tools and vermillion, which he used to carve pictures of Gods and Goddesses on trees. Result? He has saved more than a thousand trees so far. Mishra, who is the chief of Wazirganj development block's Nagwa Panchayat, told IANS, "Forests are drastically being damaged in the name of development and road extension. Villagers have no knowledge about climate change and ecological balance. But pictures of Gods and Goddesses on trees are successfully deterring people from cutting them.” © Pexels He carves the pictures on trees and paints them with vermillion, following which the villagers start worshipping the trees. "I have made deities the patron of trees,” he said. According to him, the cost for painting and carving a single tree is around Rs. 200 which he pays from his pocket. "The forest was towards the end at our panchayat following the blind cutting of trees. But my trick worked and now we are blessed with nature. Almost all trees have been cut down that we planted after I became 'Pradhan' last time. It was a heavy loss, now taking help from almighty is proving beneficial," he added. Here's a close look at the silhouette: © Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor/ Instagram It almost looks like a huge band-aid is covering his sneakers to prevent dirt to get inside the nooks and crannies of the sneaker. Or worse, the sneaker is being held together by the band-aid. Either way, it's a really cool silhouette. But this is no surprise, considering he's even beat Anand Ahuja with his style game. So, it's always a delight to see the killer kicks he pairs with his outfits. View the full article

  19. Every relationship goes through different phases in life and it cannot be sunshine and unicorns all the time. Some days are boring and some days are fun, and well, that's how you create memories. Although, that doesn't mean you get stuck in a typical boring relationship. There are ways to break that monotony and spice things up a little bit. Here is a list of common mistakes that couples commit which lead them to boredom in a relationship. 1. Going with the flow © Unsplash Well, you don't have to always go with the flow. Agreeing to whatever your partner says could be fun at times, but it's also equally important to learn to agree to disagree. Speaking your mind and having opinions are key to a strong relationship. On some days let your partner make the decision, on other days you call the shots. Repetition of a schedule can get monotonous. 2. Not doing your own thing © Unsplash There are days when you just want to be all alone, space out and do your own thing. You cannot keep on doing things together at all times. That's completely alright! However, ensure to communicate this to your partner. For a long-lasting relationship, one needs to also continue doing what they love doing irrespective of what your significant other might think about it. Harmony lies in the balance. 3. Getting way too comfortable © Unsplash Yes, you read that right. Getting comfortable with your partner is important but if you get way too comfortable, it can pull away from the charm you hold in a relationship. Didn't understand? Let me explain. For example, wearing your cool comfy PJs while meeting your girlfriend is acceptable once in a while but not at all times. That'll only show her that you take her for granted. In fact, dressing up for her is even better as this will make you feel good about yourself and she'll feel important too. 4. Focusing on only one side of '***' © Unsplash Physical intimacy is one thing that can keep your bond stronger but if you keep on focusing only on 'orgasm', your *** life will soon become boring, as it is just one aspect of ***. If your complete concentration lies on thinking about how to make that happen, you're going to lose on the fun part. So, rather than just focusing on the end result it is important to spice things up a bit to have fun while you're in that moment. That way, you can easily break the monotony. 5. Letting emotional intimacy slide © Unsplash Not wanting to share your emotions with your partner can also lead to stagnation in a relationship and you don't want that to happen. So, discussing how you feel and what you're going through is paramount as it gives a better understanding of your personality to your partner which makes things easier. All you need in long-term relationships are genuine efforts, that can enable you to keep the relationship going strong and happy. View the full article
  20. The latest Bollywood trend seems to be time-travelling, especially travelling to the past and 'seeing' for ourselves what transpired during some of the most iconic events in Indian history. Bollywood's upcoming film Panipat also happens to be one such attempt at rediscovering the past visually, and truth be told, the Ashutosh Gowarikar directorial looked pretty regal and close-to-reality in the Panipat trailer that recently came out. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Now, we don't want to sound too harsh, but the only thing that seems less convincing in the entire affair besides Arjun Kapoor's dialogue delivery is Arjun Kapoor himself. Arjun Kapoor as Sadashiv Rao Bhau almost seems out of place, lacklustre and drab as a Maratha warrior in the era when the Marathas were India's most powerful empire. Set against the backdrop of the historic Third Battle of Panipat, the film traces the journey of Sardar Senapati aka Commander-In-Chief of the Maratha army Sadashivrao Peshwa, and his role in trying to defend his motherland from the notorious Ahmad Shah Abdali of the Durrani Empire. © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions But if not the lead actor, we feel this movie is worth a watch for the performances of these 4 brilliant actors who also star in Panipat. 1. Sanjay Dutt as Ahmad Shah Abdali © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Known to the world as the founder of the Durrani Empire and modern-day Afghanistan, Sanjay Sutt as Abdali looks more than convincing in its attempt to inspire fear and anger all at once. Sanjay Dutt really looks the part as the notorious and ambitious king Abdali. 2. Mohnish Bahl as Nana Sahib Peshwa © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Noted veteran actor Mohnish Bahl will once again be seen on the silver screen and this time, as the most powerful and successful Peshwa the Maratha Empire ever saw. As Nana Sahib Peshwa, Mohnish will be seen making the historic decision to fight Abdali's forces with Sadashiv's strategies. 3. Padmini Kolhapure as Gopikabai © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Wife of Nana Sahib Peshwa, Gopikabai was known to be very religious and orthodox. Padmini Kolhapure is all set to make a comeback to the big screen after a gap of six years. 4. Zeenat Aman as Sakina Begum © Ashutosh Gowariker Productions Yesteryear megastar Zeenat Aman is all set to make a Bollywood comeback with this movie. Though not much is known about her character, it is enough to be able to watch her on the silver screen after so many years. View the full article
  21. When you think of OTT, the two people who top this list have to be Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh. We have hardly seen these two elite B-town celebrities in something minimal and their sartorial moves have set an inspiration for many. Speaking of KJo's outrageous outfits and sneakers, the OG king's flamboyant style is spot on and looks like, it cannot ever be tamed. © Viral Bhayani Recently, KJo took his airport game a notch higher wearing two patterned shirt by 'Dust Of Gods' and his off-white backpack (which BTW is worth Rs. 2,55,966). But he, along with a quirky outfit, dovetails an outlandish pair of sneakers as well. Karan picked a pair that has the word 'Naked' written on it in bold. And since we are talking about KJo here, there's no doubt that these sneakers are yet again an OTT version. © Viral Bhayani © Naked Wolfe © Naked Wolfe Being a fashion aficionado, this filmmaker knows exactly the sort of brands that can easily rev up his personality. This time around, he was spotted in the chunkiest sneakers by Naked Wolfe. This pair comes in a soft and flexible rubber sole. The graffiti print on it has the brand name splashed on it in bold hues and we love how striking it looks due to its design and construction. © Viral Bhayani The original price of these sneakers as per the website is Rs. 20,080 but currently, they are available for just Rs. 14,0550. In case you wish to hoard a pair that's fashionable and quirky, this pair definitely ticks the boxes right. © Viral Bhayani KJo's love for luxury brands is never-ending. Right from his backpacks to his sneakers to his baggy suits, everything that he wears can burn a big hole in our pockets. However, these sneakers are comparatively a bit affordable. We love how your shoes are akin to your personality, Karan. Hats off! View the full article
  22. This weekend, the city of Pune saw thousands of young music enthusiasts pouring in to catch their favourite artists at the 10th edition of the NH7 Weekender - one of Indiaâs biggest music festivals. Many such groups use budget hotel bookings as a way to affordably and conveniently plan their stays - although several of them were in for a rude shock as the festival kicked off this Friday. âI booked this hotel 4 months prior,â explained Simran, a guest of Gurugram-based hotel chain FabHotels. âA lot of people come to Pune for the Weekender so I wanted to plan my stay before the world did so I could book with convenience and within budget. I had a confirmed booking since Day 1 but I still called them on 24th November to double-check. Everything seemed fine. Got an email and a text on 27th with further details about my stay.â The trouble began early this Friday, when customers such as Simran arrived at their hotels, expecting a fresh room to use as a basecamp for a fun, exciting and long-awaited festival. Upon arrival however, FabHotel customers were appalled to find out that their bookings were fraudulently cancelled. Caption: A screenshot taken during what was supposed to be check-in time. Notice how the booking is accepted, then almost immediately cancelled with no intimation. Reminds me of certain cab drivers. âI get to the hotel and turns out it's not a FabHotel anymore. The guy at the reception says I don't have a booking there. They ask me to call Fab, and talk to them.â What ensued was a customer-service nightmare. âFrom noon to around 4:30 in the evening, I constantly keep calling the helpline,â she continues. âThere's a 10-15 minute hold. It connects, and I explain my situation to the executive. He says that my booking was changed and he has shared the updated information with me. I check my email and it's the exact address that was originally shared. I'm obviously furious so I tell him this, and he hangs up on me. I call again. Another 10 mins hold. I connect with another executive and I start from scratch. He is confused so he puts me on hold again. Call drops. I call again. This goes on for 4 hours. Rinse and repeat.â A great number of attendees of the music festival could be seen dragging their suitcases in search of alternative accommodation options. Most of these were expensive due to high demand, forcing customers to spend an extra 50% of what they had previously budgeted - a truly painful cost to incur during the month-end crunch. FabHotels responded by asking customers to âtreat this as an exception.â ââKindly treat this as an exceptionâ is really too much to ask for. Also, this has happened to a bunch of other people so how many exceptions is FabHotel expecting the world to made? I would really like to know,â fumes Simran. FabHotels eventually produced a statement when prompted - although the lack of clarity is telling. âWe disassociate with some of our partners if they do not match up to our quality,â said Anupam Sharma, a representative of FabHotels. When questioned over accommodating the customers who made bookings in advance, FabHotels had no response. However, Stay At Home, a former partner with FabHotels, said that it wasnât a quality issue, but that they did not make payments in time that forced the apartment owners to stop working with the institution. âThey defaulted numerous payments. They were focusing on discounts and not giving us the money in time. We stopped giving them booking about six months ago,â said a service apartment owner. As of now, FabHotels currently advertises âupto 60% offâ its bookings. These issues were primarily concentrated in Viman Nagar, an upscale residential neighbourhood in East Pune which was the prime choice for festival attendees due to its proximity to the venue and its large concentration of hotels. âWe had a group who made an advance payment of Rs 29,000 through FabHotels but we had no idea about it. About 5-6 groups have come to us today,â said a service apartment owner in Viman Nagar. The hospitality industry in India is worth above Rs. 7,000 Cr, 70% of which comprises of budget hotels. Several new chains have sprung up in recent years, such as Oyo and Treebo - both of which have secured millions of dollars in funding from Chinese and Japanese investors. FabHotels themselves have raised Rs. 54 Crore from Goldman Sachs, Accel Partners and Qualcomm earlier this year - although it seems like that money isnât being used responsibly. Caption: FabHotels has recently been pushing on social media marketing - roping in popular influencers to showcase their hotels. âThe least they could do is give us alternate accommodation. Or maybe just not scam people like this? That'd help. You cannot ruin my weekend and ask me to stay fab,â concluded Simran. View the full article
  23. Apple's current-generation iPhones, as we already know, are extremely powerful. When it comes to the performance, there's hardly anything out there that's as powerful as the new iPhones. There are a ton of benchmarks out there to prove the same. And if the new report is something to go by, then it looks like, the next set of iPhones will be more powerful. The report by MacRumors suggests that the iPhone 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max will offer up to 6GB RAM. That's right, the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max both are likely to have 6GB RAM, up from 4GB in the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. © Apple Apple is one of the very few companies that has managed to nail OS optimisation. The iPhones work so well with iOS that RAM has never really been an issue. While Android phones have been carrying 6GB and 8GB RAM for a long time now, the 3GB RAM on the iPhone X has been a bottleneck. iPhones have great memory management and we expect them to remain the same, if not get better over time. Now that we're hearing rumours about the next iPhones having up to 6GB of RAM, we think it'll only make them more powerful. Although we don't have an official confirmation yet, we're expecting the RAM to be faster too. That way, the phones won't slow down over an extended period of time since it won't be a bottleneck, to begin with. In addition to that, the new iPhones are also expected to feature rear-facing 3D sensing and mmWave support for higher-performance 5G. And as far as the base model iPhone 12 is concerned, it's said to have 4GB of RAM. © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee Lastly, the report also says that the iPhone SE2 is still in the pipeline and its production is set to begin in February, 2020. All these information come from a reliable source, but we won't know anything for sure until we get any sort of confirmation directly from Apple. View the full article
  24. Humans have wiped out more than 50 percent of earth's wildlife for their selfish needs and the ripple effect of that still carries on. After the last male White Rhino died last year in March, it's now the last Sumatran Rhino in Malaysia. The Sumatran Rhino has become extinct in Malaysia after the last one of the species died of cancer. Now, let's first focus on what the word 'extinction' really means, since we haven't experienced it yet, within our species. 'Extinction' is complete and absolute termination of an organism or a group of organisms or a species, from the face of this earth. This literally means there is no way to evoke a complete species unless of course there is a rare phenomenon such as the 'Lazarus Taxa', where a species presumed extinct, suddenly 'reappears', after a period of long absence. But unfortunately, that's not going to be the case for the Northern White Rhino, unless of course nature performs an absolute miracle! (c)ABC The wildlife department in Eastern Sabah state on Borneo island said the Rhino, named Iman, died of natural causes due to shock in her system. She had uterine tumours since her capture in March 2014. Iman was 25-years old and was suffering from pain due to the growing pressures from the uterine tumour on her bladder, dying sooner than she was expected to, according to department director Augustine Tuuga. Iman's death was announced six months after the death of the country's only male Rhino in Sabah. Efforts to breed the Rhino have been a little futile, but the authorities in Sabah have harvested their cells for possible reproduction. “Despite us knowing that this would happen sooner rather than later, we are so very saddened by this news,” said Sabah Environment Minister Christina Liew. (c)Emma Napper He also added that Iman had escaped death a few times over the last couple of years, due to massive blood loss, but each time the facility managed to nurse her back to health, also obtaining her egg cells for a possible collaboration with Indonesia, to produce the endangered animal species though artificial insemination. (c)USA Today The Sumatran rhino is the only rhino with two horns and the smallest of the rhinoceros species. The species was also fund in India but sadly, its numbers shrunk due to deforestation and poaching. A WWF report states that only 80 are left in the world, mostly concentrated towards Borneo and Sumatra and at the rate at which we're abusing our environment, it wouldn't be long enough till these 80 get extinct too someday! 25. People say "action expresses priorities" and the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation gave a living proof of the same when they announced to buy jute coats for the cows staying in shelters to keep them warm. Well, looks like winter is coming, but only for the cows staying in shelters. It's not for cows or other animals who live on the streets, it's not for the homeless human beings who sleep on the footpath without any warm blanket or coat to cover them. It's not for those poor kids who are at the major risk of dying from cold and hunger. Reuters But, why are we talking about them again? That's not a priority, right? What's important...is to make cow coats. Niraj Shukla, Nagar Nigam Commissioner of Ayodhya, said, "We are in the process of getting the cow coats made. This scheme will be implemented in three-four phases. First, we are starting with Baishingpur cow shelter, which houses around 1,200 cattle including 700 bulls and the rest being cows and calves. We have initially placed order for 100 cow coats for the calves." Reportedly, these cow coats cost somewhere between Rs 250 to 300 each and the first delivery is expected in November. He further said, "Three-layer coats for the calves are being prepared. We have asked for the use of soft clothes for the calves in the innermost layer apart from the jute which provides warmth to the body." He also added that cows and bulls will have separate coat designs. Well, of course! Details are important. Twitter What's more, "The cow shelter will also have a bonfire to save the cows from extreme cold. Paddy straw will be put on the floor to provide warmth to the cattle if they choose to sit." Now, how cool is that? In all honesty, there's nothing wrong in making jute coats for cows. But, is it correct to restrict the jute coats only to the sheltered ones who are probably already getting enough care? Shouldn't the focus be on the animals who are living on the streets, who don't have anyone to look after them? Shouldn't the kids be somewhere in the priority list, where they get to sleep under a blanket? This news is making desi people facepalm harder than ever and they didn't leave any stone unturned to convey the same on social media. We don't have funds to give proper health and education facilities to the needy, but we have ample funds to do this. Well, it's great that they are trying to give some comfort to the cows and bulls, why not do this for every animal?https://t.co/x4hpeNGFTV — Shailendra Patel (@IAmShailendraP) November 24, 2019 Rs 250-300 of wasting whose money???? https://t.co/zlPw9XQo5K — Arpita Ghosh (@Arpita0019) November 24, 2019 Jute coats, bonfire: Ayodhya authorities ensure cows stay warm in winter.
