  1. As one of the youngest religions in the world, Sikhism glorifies the practice of growing one's hair out. More so, for spiritual and religious purposes, but it's said, that by avoiding a trim/cut, Sikhs honour their almighty as well. Besides, it's a symbol of freedom and equality. But while their tresses are most often covered with turbans, their beards do see the light of the day. They are subjected to every day climatic changes, the pollution, dust and external elements, that affect their over-all hygiene and health. Since the beard is almost like a uniform for the Sikhs, it's unfair to not pay heed towards maintaining it. Long story short: we're here with a decisive routine for Sikh men, to keep their glory-beards in top form. © Instagram/houseofwaris 1. For basics, invest in the right edibles You are what you eat, so the most fundamental trick to a healthy and lustrous beard is to maintain a diet that's rich in nutrients. Indulge in healthy fats like avocados, omega-3s, nuts, eggs, vegetables (of course) and ample amount of protein (helps in hair growth). In addition, ensure that your intake of biotin is adequate as well. Don't forget to add antioxidants and vitamins as it helps to build up collagen which promotes hair growth. The best way is to have a balance diet to get the micronutrients into your system.. © Getty Images 2. Ever heard of a Beard Wash? As the owner of an unshorn beard, you need to use a beard wash for sure; to help you cleanse and soften it. Beard wash contains organic and skin friendly ingredients. The best beard wash is one that doesn't contain sulphates and parabens. HOW TO APPLY: Wet your beard with lukewarm water and apply beard wash directly at the roots and massage it gently on your beard and the skin underneath so that it exfoliates and cleanses it. Never forget to wash your beard with beard wash everyday if you use hair styling products, otherwise just wash it with lukewarm water and oil it once/twice a week. P.S. Never ever use a head shampoo on your beard, as the skin on your face is different than that of the scalp. Choose a milder shampoo (beard wash) for your beard. © Getty Images 3. Use a beard oil to keep your beard healthy In order to add a feather to a Sikh Man's turban, the primary tip is to always oil your hair for a lustrous and crisp look of the beard. The best oil is one that is composed of essential oils that condition and moisturize your hair follicles and the skin beneath it to give a calming and soothing effect. It helps to keep everything in place. 4. Use a conditioner Hair conditioner is a hair care product used to improve the feel, appearance and manageability of hair. Its main purpose is to reduce friction between strands of hair to allow easier brushing or combing, which might otherwise cause damage. Using a conditioner is totally up to one's preference as it depends on the type of hair one has. If you think your beard's frizzy or rough, we recommend you to use a conditioner. © Getty Images Steps you need to follow to groom your beard post showering, conditioning and moisturizing: 1. Hold your horses and let your beard dry until it's semi-dry. Never use styling products on a wet beard as you will end up using a lot of it. 2. Always tie your beard as it gives a cleaner and presentable look. Since Sikhs can't trim or shape their beard, it's better to set it using a beard wax/taft hair spray. 3. Don't use excessive hair styling products on your beard as it damages the skin underneath and spoils the hair strength and cements your hair to your face which looks extremely ugly. © Getty Images 4. Try to straighten your beard with a comb instead of brush as it gives a cleaner look and also prevents damage to your fragile hair on your face. Always comb in the direction of the grain of your beard. © Getty Images 5. Use a fairly loose rubber band to tie your beard, as a tighter rubber band would cause hair loss and irritation. If you have a fairly long beard, you can use a small bobby pin to keep your beard in place. 6. Finally, blow dry your beard so that it can stay in place throughout the day and makes you look dapper. © Getty Images And voila, you're all set!
  2. Post the deadly Pulwama terror attack, the entire country is left in a state of horror and shock. Over 40 CRPF personnel lost their lives and we're still trying to put the pieces together, all across the country, not sure if they'll fit anymore. But an international humanitarian organisation by the name of 'Khalsa Aid' and some local Gurudwaras and individual Sikhs helped the Kashmiri population who were trying to escape vigilante mob attacks all across the country and we know for sure there is still some faith left in humanity. © Twitter The organisation gave protection, food and shelter to many stranded Kashmiris and helped them reach back safe to their homes in Kashmir. The violence erupted all over North India where many Kahsmiri students were being attacked in retaliation to the attack on the 14th of February and with the help of Khalsa Aid, they've all made it back home safe. © Twitter As a mark of gratitude and in order to thank the Sikh communities, the Kashmiris have now expressed their love for the Sikhs for helping them out in times of need and have offered free services to the Sikhs, namely medical treatments and education and free snow bike rides in Gulmarg. © Twitter So much so, a cartoon caricatured by a Kashmiri cartoonist by the name of Suhail Naqshbandi has gone viral on social media. The sketch depicts a Sikh offering a helping hand to a drowning Kashmiri, narrating the benevolent services and gratitude towards the brotherhood. Sardar means a leader and they lead by example. Hats off to them for being everywhere to help the humanity. @Khalsa_Aid #kashmirisindistress #kashmir pic.twitter.com/H6kUfIVlzk — Suhail Naqshbandi (@hailsuhail) 20 February 2019 The cartoonist tweeted: “Sardar means a leader and they lead by example. Hats off for being everywhere to help.” The post went viral on Twitter and was re-tweeted many times. The cartoon was also shared by former Jammu & Kashmir chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah. I salute our Sikh brethren who came to the aid of young Kashmiris all over the country. Admire their exemplary spirit to serve with utmost dignity & fortitude. https://t.co/rOGN4mS2PA — Mehbooba Mufti (@MehboobaMufti) 20 February 2019 This cartoon is very apt. They've taught us what true brotherhood really looks like. We at MensXP would like to extend much gratitude towards the community and we hope they continue such good and kind work always.
  3. Here's a little story of instant karma that will make anyone laugh, mainly because it looks like something straight out of a Bollywood movie. To sum it up, two robbers were trying to get away after stealing about Rs 40 lakh from an ATM in Noida but ended up falling off their bike. If that wasn't bad enough, the onlookers ended up stealing the money they just stole from the ATM. It all went down at around 1:30 pm, when the custodians from a cash refilling agency reached the State Bank of India ATM in Sector 82, under Noida's Phase 2 police station limits, to replenish the cash. Pretty normal, right? Nothing out of the ordinary. But, the problem started as soon as officials stepped out of the cash van as two guys got off their bike and opened fire. Then they managed to grab the bag which contained approximately Rs 40 lakh in cash and ran away. Till this point, everything seemed pretty serious but the fun part is coming up. A police spokesperson said, “While trying to get away, their speeding motorcycle collided with another vehicle and the robbers fell down. At this point, the bag filled with cash opened and hundreds of currency notes were scattered across the road.” And obviously, where there's money, there are people ready to try and grab what they can. A lot of onlookers picked up money and walked away, because what else are they going to do. Don't worry, the robbers' bad luck doesn't end there as they were also arrested. The spokesperson said, “The arrested accused has been identified as Nannhe, a native of adjoining Bulandshahr district, and a bag with Rs 19.65 lakh was seized from him.” So, what this means is that the people basically got away with taking about Rs 20 lakh cash. I have no words.
  4. The Indian Army is an epitome of true valour and righteousness, wherever it's needed. They're almost invincible yet dignified, ferocious and mighty, as well as compassionate. And we only believe these things because we always read about the great work they are doing, while protecting our borders. Recently, the Indian army marched towards another great feat by rescuing a pregnant woman , who was stuck in bad snow to deliver her babies. On the 8th of February, a villager from the same village as the pregnant woman called the company commander of the Thana Panar Camp at Bandipur and asked for help to take his wife Gulshana Begum to the hospital there. Due to Jammu & Kashmir's heavy snowfall, the man couldn't take his wife, since the roads were all blocked and the temperature fell to about minus seven degrees Celsius. The situation was so grave that the woman had to be rushed to the hospital and she couldn't waste any time. © Twitter Upon hearing about the situation at hand, the soldiers of Bandipur National Rifles reached the woman's house, braving bad road conditions and heavy snowfall. They carried her out on a stretcher for about 2.5 kms, before putting her in an army ambulance. © Twitter The men had already spoken to the required doctors before they even reached the hospital in Bandipur, just so there wouldn't be any time wasted and the woman could have a safe and healthy delivery. Fortunately, upon reaching the hospital on time and after some check-ups, it was confirmed the woman would be having twins. If it wasn't for the army's presence in the nick of time, she wouldn't have been able to even make it to the nearest hospital. © Twitter Indian Army as an organisation has been taken for granted beyond measure time and again, especially in Jammu and Kashmir where they are vigilant day and night about terrorist activities. The locals aren't very fond of the army and they definitely have unpleasant feelings towards them. But more often than not, the army goes out of its way to help the local, sizeable population in any way they can and they recognise the importance of an emergency and lack of help in some regions of J&K. That's why they're always there, fighting every cause. Here's to the Indian Army for always lending a helping hand to people when they need them. We're sure Gulshana Begum's twins will have something to thank the Indian Army about. Who knows they might join the ranks someday!
  5. Someone telling you that you smell great is the best kind of compliment you could get. Your favourite cologne or perfume can make a great impression on ladies. But only if it lasts long enough. When you hustle all day at the office from 9 am to 5 pm, your signature scent tends to fade off. What's the point of spending so much money on perfumes if they won't last long enough? Here are a few ways to make sure your perfume lasts longer for that great first impression: 1. Stop Spraying It On Your Clothes © Gettyimages If you are guilty of doing so like most people are, correct your ways. When you spray cologne all over your clothes, you not only ruin them but also make the perfume disperse. The airflow causes perfume to disperse and leaves you with a dying fragrance all day. Spray it on your body to make sure it stays put all day long. 2. Rubbing Your Wrists Together Is A Big No-No © Gettyimages Just because you've been doing it since ages doesn't mean it's the right way. When you rub your wrists together, you're just diffusing the top notes and leaving the middle and base notes of your fragrance. For a long-lasting cologne, rubbing your wrists to absorb it isn't the way to go. Let it air-dry for that fresh smell all day. 3. Layer Your Fragrances © Gettyimages We see brands coming up with aftershaves, lotions, creams, perfumes and body washes of the same scent. Ever wondered why? When you layer up your scent with a product of the same scent, the effect is much more amplified and lasts way longer. Use the same scented products as your signature fragrance and you'll be sorted for at least 8 hours. 4. Spray On Your Pulse Points © Gettyimages If you want your perfume to last all day, you might want to consider specific places to spray it on. The pulse points of the body are the warmer parts of the body which are behind your neck, ear, elbow and knees. These spots generate body heat that helps endure the notes of your scent for a longer period of time. 5. Moisturizer Is Key © Gettyimages Applying moisturizer on your pulse points will make the scent easier to absorb and help carry it longer. Skipping this step can make your cologne disappear within minutes. These definitive ways will make sure you make a lasting impression. Spritz your cologne the right way and let it do the talking!

  7. Using AirPods always comes with the general fear that one day it will slip out of your ear, fall to the ground and you'll end up losing them. AirPods are small, don't have anything to hold it together and losing them is far easier than finding Waldo. Ever since we've been using AirPods since its release, there's always that fear that we might lose it while using it on a busy street or simply misplace them. That's exactly what Gabrielle Reilly feared and made her AirPods into something more useful than we ever expected. She modified her wireless earbuds into earrings so that she doesn't misplace them even when it falls out of her ear. © Instagram Gabrielle Reilly told BuzzFeed News, "I absolutely refuse to lose them. My cat ate through two pairs of Beats Bluetooth earphones, and all my other earphones. So I got the AirPods because there was no wire for her to chew, but I still needed something to connect them.” I made airpod earrings lmaoooo i didnt want to post this till i had better pics but whatever here it is pic.twitter.com/4pHnc8wvfv — pop (@bloodorgy) January 26, 2019 Her AirPods are now more a pair of dangling earrings that ensures they are always safe and don't fall to the ground. She can pop them out from the earring whenever she wants to charge them or pop them into her ear whenever she wants to listen to something. Reilly has also created a chain necklace to connect the AirPods and is now selling on her website for others to take advantage of her creation. You can order different types of hoops and customers can even choose the length of the earring. These earrings are aptly named 'Airings' and cost $20.00 per pair. Even though this may sound as bizarre as it could be, Reilly's earrings are nothing but ingenious. Maybe Apple could look into expanding into the jewellery department and sign her up for design ideas (Kidding).
  8. Ranveer Singh is extra. Everyone knows that. But even that extra becomes a little more, well, 'extra', on certain occasions. The cultural festival organized by Mumbai Police, 'Umang', is one of them. Ranveer has a history of going all out during Umang, to the delight of fashion enthusiasts. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nitasha Gaurav (@nitashagaurav) on Jan 27, 2019 at 11:04am PST This year, too, he wore a head-to-toe leopard print outfit, which has been making headlines. They had his initials 'RS' embroidered on, all over. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani If that's not extra, we don't know what is. 9. Last year ended on a great note for Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty, with the grand success of their film 'Simmba' at the box office. In order to celebrate the mega feat, director Rohit Shetty, producer Karan Johar and actor Ranveer Singh got together to throw a success party for the team and fellow friends in the industry. View this post on Instagram I think i know what you're talking about @itsrohitshetty ððððð A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Jan 7, 2019 at 10:24am PST However, amongst all the gazillion photos from the party that surfaced on social media, one particular snap, in particular, went viral on social media. The picture was first shared by producer Karan Johar on his Instagram stories with a caption that read, “Good luck blessings”. In it, we can see Deepika Padukone holding out her hand over their bowed heads in the gesture of blessing the trio, which included husband Ranveer, 'Simmba' director Rohit Shetty and producer Karan Johar. View this post on Instagram She blessed us down and she blessed them up too ððð#deepikapadukone A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) on Jan 7, 2019 at 11:58am PST Netizens took a great interest in the picture which soon went viral, and speculations over the intention of the act began surfacing on social media. However, when Ranveer himself was asked to comment on the real reason behind the picture during the trailer launch interview of Ranveer's upcoming film with Alia Bhatt, 'Gully Boy', he explained that the trio was seeking the blessings of Ranveer's “lady luck” who is also the “Lakshmi who has come home”. Ranveer also told Pinkvilla, that right before the said picture was taken, his friends were talking about Ranveer's “lady luck”, and how “Lakshmi (as in the Goddess of wealth) has come home”. So, the trio felt that they should take Lakshmi's blessings. He also added that, “So, she blessed us and we did that and it was a cute moment.”
  10. Sushmita Sen does not believe in keeping her fans guessing when it comes to sharing the smaller details related to her life. The Dilbar girl often takes to Instagram to make her otherwise private life, public. Be it anything related to her daughter's achievements or making the news of her relationship with Rohman Shawl, Sushmita actively and happily shares such weighted bits of her life with the world through social media. Sushmita shared the pictures from the wedding on Instagram, and the end result? Well, apart from being a feast for the eyes, the two have given rise to fantastical hopes of them sharing screen space together, someday. © Instagram As per usual, Sushmita looked ethereal in an off-white embellished number, with barely-there makeup, and made for a fresh appearance in the face of gaudy looks, that almost turn into an eye-sore during the wedding season in B-town. © Instagram She also shared videos and pictures of herself with boyfriend Rohman Shawl from the wedding, and we have to admit that the couple looked nothing short of a pair deep in love! © Instagram However, while her constant presence on social media helps her fans to behold the beauty every once in a while on their phone screens, fans have also been eagerly waiting for Sush to make her comeback on the big screen. © Instagram And if the latest reports are to be believed, we will see Sushmita set the silver screen on fire with her performance as a cop in an upcoming, untitled Bollywood project.
  11. Apple will apparently start assembling its premium iPhones in India through a local plant of its manufacturer Foxconn. It's expected to commence from as early as 2019 and will be the first time for Apple to locally assemble the more expensive iPhones. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple has been assembling iPhones in India since 2017. However, it has remained exclusive to the iPhone 6S and SE. The move comes due to the Indian government putting a high tariff on imported smartphones which has resulted in Apple losing a huge chunk of the market share. This would drive the price of premium iPhones through the roof which has resulted in poor performance in the Indian market for the Cupertino giant. © Reuters According to Economic Times, Foxconn will be manufacturing new iPhones at the Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu. Foxconn already manufactures smartphones for Xiaomi in India and will invest 25 billion Indian rupees ($356 million) to expand the plant. This includes expansion into manufacturing of iPhones in India. Due to the new expansion, Apple will be able to curb prices of premium iPhones and will be able to compete better with companies like OnePlus and Samsung. This will result in reduced prices for the flagship iPhones and drive more sales for the company. If you want to know more about how Apple can change their fortunes in India, you can read our detailed analysis here.
  12. If you are here, it means that you occupy either of the two extremes when it comes to Salman Khan. Yes, that's true, there can't be a grey area when it comes to Salman Khan. You either love the man or not. Plain and simple, and we believe many Bhai jaan admirers would agree to this proclamation. Now, coming to the most interesting bit of this story, that is, the massive flop shows Salman Khan has had in his career - yes guys, just admit it that it's a possibility for him, just as much for any other A-lister (or actor for that matter) in Bollywood. In his career spanning across three decades, the actor has had quite a few box office disasters to his credit. We picked out 17 such utterly disastrous movies which crashed at the box office. However, at the very onset, allow us to put a disclaimer across that certain movies mentioned in this list might have been popular amongst movie-goers, but were not commercially successful. Get ready to behold some epic flops featuring Salman Khan, that one can easily use to identify a true-blue, die-hard Bhaijaan fan: 1. Andaz Apna Apna Sure, this one was hilarious, entertaining and went on to become a cult movie, but surprisingly, it simply didn't work at the box office commercially when it was launched in 1994. 2. God Tussi Great Ho This fantasy comedy, that also featured Bachchan Sr, was said to be inspired by the Hollywood movie 'Bruce Almighty'. It performed very poorly at the box office. 3. Tumko Na Bhool Payenge This 2002 action thriller starring Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza and Inder Kumar, besides Sallu Bhai, gave its audience no thrill whatsoever. 4. Kahin Pyaar Na Ho Jaye This romantic film became a sad disappointment for Salman Khan fans, who simply couldn't appreciate this movie. 5. Chal Mere Bhai It is a comedy movie directed by David Dhawan, that also stars Sanjay Dutt and Karisma Kapoor. The movie crashed and burned and reports also suggested that the movie was similar to a Pakistani drama called 'Ankahi'. 6. Hello Brother Also starring Arbaaz Khan and Rani Mukerji in lead roles, the film was directed by Salman Khan's brother Sohail Khan, and was apparently inspired by the Malayalam film 'Aayushkalam'. 7. Janam Samjha Karo Starring Salman Khan and Urmila Matondkar in lead roles, with Shakti Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor and Monica Bedi in supporting roles, this was Andaleb Sultanpuri's directorial debut, and the only film he ever directed. 8. Suryavanshi Alright, please don't get us started on this. It just doesn't deserve the attention. 9. Dil Tera Aashiq Starring Salman and Madhuri Dixit in lead roles, this movie was another commercial disaster of Salman's career. 10. Chandramukhi With Salman Khan and Sridevi coming on screen for the first time, the movie created a lot of buzz, but failed to live up to the expectations. 11. Nishchaiy This 1992 release starring Salman and Karishma Kapoor along with Rajesh Khanna did terribly at the box office. 12. Jaagruti Well, what should we say? 99 per cent of us were unaware that this film even existed! 13. Biwi Ho To Aisi This movie was Salman's acting debut, and his dialogues were dubbed. Even so, the movie didn't prove to be the ideal launch for his career. 14. Veer This multi-starrer action drama was another major disappointment for all Salman Khan fans! 15. Khamoshi Well, regardless of a great story and beautiful songs, this movie crashed commercially at the box office!
  13. Russo Brothers, the two guys behind the masterpiece that was 'Avengers: Infinity War', are pretty sadistic and they're fully embracing that. I don't have to remind anyone how painful the latest Avengers edition was - no one needs to relive that until 'Avengers: Endgame' - but Russo Brothers proved they are full on enjoying the fans' pain by one meme, the best meme right now. Full props to them for being so sneaky as well, since they didn't just tweet the meme like normal people, they showed how much they enjoy everyone's pain by using the said meme as their profile picture on Twitter. Are you ready? No, you aren't. Somehow, Deadpool is always involved in Avengers, one way or another. And, where there's Deadpool, there's Wolverine. In case you have been living under a rock, Ryan Reynolds very graciously - and probably unintentionally - provided the internet with a new meme format, and it was the best Christmas gift we could've ever gotten. 14. 2018 is coming to a close and honestly, this has been one the most musically rich years and giving rides around the sun in recent memory. Making a year end list for anything is always a tricky affair because there is just waaaay too much to consume. I honestly haven't even scratched the surface of the sheer volume of amazing albums that have come out this year. One thing's for certain though: the future is exciting, the album format isn't going anywhere and the best things come from the quietest places. Anyway here we go: 15. Tierra Whack - Whack World No other album that came out this year is more tailor-made for the internet age as Tierra Whack's 'Whack World'. 15 songs, 15 minutes and 1 absolutely delightful music video. Check this one out if you like your listening experiences to be bite-sized, or if you tend to get distracted easily. 14. Rosalia - El Mar Querer Seamlessly blending traditional Spanish Flamenco music with modern RnB, Pop, and Neo Soul, Rosalia's sophomore album further cements her place as a leader of the Spanish new wave by breaking through language barriers with a stunning and emotionally charged vocal performance. 13. Young Fathers - Cocoa Sugar The Edinburgh trio continue their unique take on hip hop, punk, noise, pop and RnB while still keeping their songwriting abilities fresh as ever. 'Cocoa Sugar' keeps the emotional quotient high while surrounding it with a blend of a myriad of musical styles. 12. Julia Holter - Aviary One of the longer albums on this list, but an absolutely essential listen for fans of chamber pop, experimental jazz, and modern orchestral music. Julia Holter weaves a beautiful tapestry of sounds that deal with themes of memory, the nature and importance of art, love and natural beauty. 11. Yves Tumor - Safe In The Hands Of Love The enigmatic Turin-based experimentalist returns with what in my opinion is his most honest and accessible record till date. It is deep, complex and melancholic but never has a dull moment and is still pretty much a straight up pop record when broken down to its elements. 10. Earl Sweatshirt - Some Rap Songs 'Some Rap Songs' marks the elusive Earl Sweatshirt's return to his lyrical and experimental best. This is not an album for traditional hip hop or 'trap rap' heads. Expect lo fi, stuttering and heavily sampled time signature fluid beats accompanied by Earl's meditative, buried and self reflective flow. A short listen, but one that requires your full attention. 9. Kelman Duran - 13th Month 13th Month is an idiosyncratic deconstruction of reggaeton and west coast hip hop inter spliced with choir vocals, interview snippets and protest speeches. One of the most apocalyptic yet club adjacent releases this year. 8. Low - Double Negative It's hard to believe a band as late into its career as 'Low' can still come out with one of the year's most relevant and surprising albums. The slowcore veterans create a brooding, atmospheric and austere environment on 'Double Negative' that is at once heavy with emotion and weightless in its movement. 7. Westside Gunn - Supreme Blientele Griselda records figurehead Westside Gunn has one of the most unique voices in modern day hip hop. The Buffalo natives high pitched, raw, snarly delivery packs more punch than a baseball bat to the face. On 'Supreme Blientele', Gunn gives us what Griselda records is best known for, grimey East Coast loops, posse cuts and all the street talk we can handle (which is a lot). 6. Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want The Rhode Island Post Hardcore misanthropes return after nearly a decade to deliver one of the most psychotic, chaotic and blistering noise / no wave / post hardcore albums of the past 5 years. Warning: this is not an easy experience. 5. Death Grips - Year Of The Snitch Probably the Sacramento trio's least hip hop inspired album yet. This time around the guys embrace the sounds of hard rock and punk to unnaturally combine with their mutant take on electronica, free form jazz freak outs, harsh noise and power electronics. 4. Hermit And The Recluse - Orpheus Vs. The Sirens I'll say it right here right now - Ka is one of the most criminally underrated artists of the 21st century. He is easily the best rapper out there and as a producer he conjures some of the most rich, complex and meditative soundscapes that work so perfectly with his voice that it's hard to imagine him rapping over anything else. However on 'Hermit and the Recluse', Ka teams up with producer Animoss and this time takes on the Greek Epic of Orpheus. 3. Kids See Ghosts - Self Titled Everybody's favourite celebrity to hate and the legendary hip hop crooner come together to give us one of the year's most beautiful, life affirming and experimental hip hop records. Kanye and Kid Cudi are a veritable powerhouse, both seemingly back in tip top creative shape, traversing everything from grunge, hard rock and soul to give us an album that literally nobody expected to be THIS good. 2. Sophie - Oil Of Every Pearl's Un-Insides We can easily call it the defining pop album of the decade. This is emotionally tense, cathartic, calming and life affirmingly beautiful all in one. Sophie has cemented herself as one of the brightest stars of our generation and the future of pop production. 1. Playboi Carti - Die Lit This brings me to my favourite album of 2018 and by no means is it the “best” album or anything idiotic like that. This goes way beyond that. What we have here is an infectious, psychedelic, minimalistic, hypnotic almost hymn like take on the sound that is nearing its peak in 2018, i.e. mumble rap. Across these tracks Carti, squeaks, squirms and yelps with childlike mischievousness, repeating the same phrase sometimes through the entire verse; but that doesn't matter. What we get here is an overall effect that drowns you with harshly bright synths, subterranean thuds and trap hi hats that spitter and spatter on top of the concoction, almost going toe to toe with Carti's infectious adlibs and singular phrases. This is the most avant garde mumble rap will ever get and I'm not even entirely sure Carti intended for it to be like that, but oh my god is this thing highly, highly addictive. What were your favourite albums of 2018?

  16. As per a popular, but flawed narrative, 'serious actors' don't care about 'superficial things such as fashion'. So many things are wrong with this statement, that we wouldn't even attempt to counter it. Instead, we'd just urge you to look at two of the most talented (not to mention commercially successful) actors that the nation has been obsessed with this year. We are talking about Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao - two men who have not only proved the above statement wrong, but are working every single day to change such problematic notions. © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali Being fashion forward is something that does not come easy. It is not superficial, neither is it trivial. It takes a lot to merge it as a part of your personality, while you work day in and day out to excel in your respective professions. The fact that Ayushmann and Rajkummar excelled in it, despite being two of the finest actors that Bollywood has produced, breaks a huge stereotype, while simultaneously paving the way for a more inclusive and prejudice-free fashionscape in the industry. © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali Since we wanted to understand how they did it, we had a heart to heart chat with stylist Isha Bhansali, the woman behind the majestic style transformations of both these men, and she told us about the 5 unusual things Ayushmann and Rajkummar did to turn into the fashion icons they are now. © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali 1. According to Isha, what differentiates Ayushmann and Rajkummar from other celebrities is their open-mindedness. They are always ready to experiment. Despite their down-to-earth personalities, they don't shy away from trying super edgy outfits that might just appear to be uncharacteristically high-fashion and flamboyant at times. Their open-mindedness paved the way for this transformation, which is often a difficult path, riddled with reservations. © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali 2. They understand that fashion is an extension of one's personality. Ayushmann's preferred aesthetic is as eclectic as his varied talents - from being an actor to a musician to a poet. He is as comfortable carrying off a timeless classic outfit, as he is donning an ultra-edgy, futuristic number, depending on the occasion. For Rajkummar, the aesthetic varies from humble yet sophisticated classics to sudden bursts of kaleidoscopic hues - just like his acting that ranges from being unrealistically relatable to being brilliantly eccentric. © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali 3. They always make sure that they understand the reason behind the selection of a particular outfit for them. As Isha rightly puts, "Irrespective of how brilliant a stylist is, if their muse doesn't share their passion and are not on the same page in terms of the reason why an outfit is the way it is, things will definitely fall apart. Both of them are invested in the way their outfits look, and it's always a pleasure discussing a particular aesthetic with them. They understand the 'why' of style, and that bit definitely helps me out." © Instagram/ishabhansali © Instagram/ishabhansali All we can say is, kudos Ayushmann and Rajkummar, for breaking the glass ceiling in terms of the co-existence of high fashion and the serious craft of acting. Salute!

  18. Guys, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh JUST got married. As we all know, Ranveer and Deepika will have two weddings - one is a traditional Konkani ceremony that has happened today and the other is a traditional Sindhi style wedding that will take place tomorrow i.e. November 15, 2018. While we were busy stalking social media to look for pictures from their mehendi and sangeet pictures, thinking there's still some time left in their wedding, recent reports have confirmed that the couple just got married as per the Konkani traditions, at the picturesque Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. 19. Without advocating for celebrity worship, it's important to also acknowledge that, for better or for worse, most Indians actually look up to their favourite celebrities for fashion advice. And while this might have been a problem before, the fact that most male celebs in B-town have scaled up their fashion game in the last few years makes them worthy fashion role models to look up to. This also happens to be true vis-a-vis their grooming game, specifically how they've started paying particular (and some much warranted and appreciated!) attention to their beards and mooch. So to help all of our bros out there grow and maintain a luscious mane like the ones being rocked by their favourite B-town actors, here are four celeb beards they can sport without having to splurge a fortune. 1) Varun Dhawan's Razor Sharp Stubble © Instagram Official/ Varun Dhawan The best thing about sporting a stubble, apart from the fact that almost anyone out there can rock one, is just how easy it is to grow and maintain it. It requires the least amount of investment (and grooming products!) for you to sport a stubble. So opting for a razor sharp stubble, like the one Varun Dhawan is sporting here, makes for the best option for all those who find it difficult to grow a proper beard. Achieving it is easy as well, since all you need to do is invest in the best trimmers available in the market. 2) Kartik Aaryan's Finely Groomed Beard © Instagram Official/ Kartik Aaryan Kartik Aaryan's finely groomed beard is the best option for all those men who want to sport something more than a stubble, but not necessarily a full-fledged mane. Once again, all you need to do is invest in the right beard trimmers, aprt from having enough facial scruff to trim in the first place, and you'll be all set! 3) Shahid Kapoor's Thick & Badass Beard © Instagram Official/ Shahid Kapoor Now here's a badass beard you shouldn't think twice before sporting, especially since it is certain to make you a hit among the ladies. This one will require a little more work to pull off than the others though, but your efforts will be well worth it when you see the results. Apart from having a proper trimmer, you also need to make sure you invest in other grooming essentials for men, such a beard wash and a beard growth oil, to properly grow and maintain a beard this thick. 4) Ranveer Singh's Luscious Mane © Instagram Official/ Ranveer Singh Ranveer Singh's badass and luscious mane officially marks big boy territory and if you're up for the challenge, you really should try sporting a beard like Ranveer's. More so than growing it, maintaining a mane like this will prove to be more challenging. So make sure you invest in the right beard and face washes to wash off any dirt or dust particles your facial scruff may attract, apply the best beard oils that will help you grow and take care of it, and even start using reputable moustache waxes as taking care of your mooch is just as important as your beard.
  20. I have recently seen the terms food allergies and intolerance used interchangeably a lot when they actually are two different things. Not only are these two different things, but there are a lot of myths thrown around about them as well. The most stupid myth that I have come across numerous times is that an allergy can be created if you eat the same food again and again. Another one doing rounds is that you can cure an allergy by not eating the food that you are allergic to for 6 weeks. While in reality, if someone has a true allergy to a food, they can't ever eat that food again. © Thinkstock Images A food allergy is not a joke and people have died because of it. Compare this to someone who has lactose intolerance, drinks a glass of milk, gets gas and thinks he is allergic to milk. Allergies and intolerances are not the same thing but people confuse them all the time. Add to this the fact that food intolerances are reported almost ten times their actual rate of occurrence. Most times, when people do not feel good after eating a certain food, they assume that they are intolerant to that food. What Are Food Allergies and Intolerances Food Intolerances Generally occurs when a person's gut lacks appropriate digestive enzymes. Symptoms are repetitive gas, bloating or diarrhea. Intolerance can only cause some gastric discomfort to an individual but it poses no real danger to a person's life. Food Allergy This generates an immune reaction in the body. The consequences of a food allergy are much more severe and can cause respiratory, stomach, skin cardiovascular symptoms and anaphylactic shock. Allergies have been the cause of a few deaths in extreme cases. What Causes Food Allergy Food allergy is caused when small amount of protein enters your bloodstream. This usually happens during childhood when the gut lining is not fully developed. Some allergens can also enter the body through the respiratory system. Most of the known food allergies are caused by protein foods with milk, egg, peanuts, tree nuts, some fish and shellfish being the culprits in most cases. Gluten is another major contributor of allergy and intolerance for most people who suffer from these ailments. Gluten is a type of protein found in grains such as wheat, barley and rye. © Thinkstock Images Tests There are tests available to determine whether you are suffering from a food allergy or intolerance. From a practical standpoint, if eating certain foods causes you the problems listed above, you should stop eating them, simple. If you are suffering from a true food allergy, there is no treatment for it and avoiding the food that triggers the allergy is the best solution. Around 3-4% of the adult population is thought to be suffering from food allergies. So, if you are unsure if you have an allergy or you are intolerant to a food/food group, go get a test done rather than playing the guessing game. 21. Virat Kohli & Co. might be busy with the 5-match ODI series against West Indies, but in the back of their minds, the team is also low-key planning for the ICC World Cup that will take place in England in 2019. In case you're wondering if they are finalising their game plan or working on their fitness, you're wrong. While this might happen eventually, but currently the team is busy preparing their odd wish list for the tour which includes lots and lots of bananas. Confused? via GIPHY Reportedly, Team India's wish list for the tour is out and it includes bananas, a reserved rail coach and permission to have their wives accompany team to the tour. These were the requests that were put forward by the team, in their review meeting with the Committee of Administrators (CoA) in Hyderabad. Just like us, the request of bananas confused the CoA as well. According to a report in The Indian Express, sources said, "Apparently, the England cricket board failed to serve the Indian team with the fruit of their choice during the tour. But the CoA was amused by the request and said that the players should have told the team manager to buy bananas on the BCCI's expenses." Twitter/ BCCI Another demand that raised eyebrows in the review meeting was the preference for train travel in England. The team wants a coach to be booked for them and although the committee was initially concerned about their safety, they "agreed under the condition that the CoA or BCCI won't be held responsible if anything untoward happens." Sources further said, "There were other demands about booking hotels with a proper gym and discussions about the duration and protocol regarding wives accompanying players on tours." Team India is currently busy smashing massive runs against West Indies and giving their opponents a tough time on the ground. For those who missed out on yesterday's match, Team India won by 224 runs in the 4th ODI that was played at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium on Monday.
  22. 'Mass-bunks' were a huge rage in our college days. Missing classes to go for movies or just hang out with friends in Hauz Khas village was a huge deal back in the day, and something that we majorly miss in this competitive corporate life. But, clearly, some desi engineers don't miss 'mass-bunks' even at work. While most of us are busy getting our Diwali leaves approved, 236 desi engineers once went on a 6-week (or 47 days approx.) mass-bunk and were recently fired for the same. © Pexels This incident happened in Pune, where the company ZF Steering & Gears India, a German-based auto parts manufacturing firm fired as many as 236 engineers for not showing up to work without any prior notice. The employees were absent from December 2, 2017 to January, 19 2018. According to a report in Business Today, the company stated in a release that the concerned employees were found guilty of 'misconduct'. "The Company finally decided to terminate the employment of these 236 employees with effect from 26/27th October, 2018. All the concerned employees have been paid their due amount under the provisions of law." © Pexels ZF Steering & Gears India manufactures and supplies ball and nut integral hydraulic power and roller mechanical steering systems, and some of their major clients are Ashok Leyland, Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Volvo Group to name a few. Obviously this decision didn't go down too well with the terminated employees. Reportedly, the workers strongly protested against the decision and claim that they were fired not because of the 'mass-bunk', but, for forming a workers' union. Having said that, let's get back to begging our managers to approve our long-pending leaves because 'mass-bunk' is not an idea we should take example from.

24. Actor Anupam Kher deserves a special mention in the list of celebrity doppelgangers. Why? Because after his next movie, people won't be able to differentiate between him and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Instagram We're talking about his upcoming movie 'The Accidental Prime Minister' and the uncanny resemblance he shares with the former PM. Instagram Anupam Kher, who has been constantly updating his fans about the movie on social media, recently shared this BTS video from the film sets, on the last day of their shoot. In the video, Kher is seen dressed as Dr. Manmohan Singh, sipping chai with on-screen Sonia Gandhi, Suzanne Bernert. Instagram What's the best way to stop spoilers from getting circulated? Share it yourself and Anupam Kher did exactly that. He wrote, "On the sets of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' somebody quietly shoots a candid moment between Suzanne Bernert playing Mrs Sonia Gandhi and I having tea and biscuits and shares it on social media. Now it is already on TV channels. So the best option is to share it myself. So here it is. 25. I don't know what timeline we're living in right now because everything is just so damn weird. The biggest proof of all of us being in the wrong timeline is honestly Elon Musk and his Twitter account. He's known for sometimes posting a lot of cryptic tweets but these days, his tweets are just straight up bizarre and totally out of character. ið¤anime — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 22, 2018 Um. And I own a chibi Wolverine — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 22, 2018 I wasn't the only one who thought it was weird. Twitter thought I got hacked & locked my account haha — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 23, 2018 Now, this Elon from some alternate dimension asked people on Twitter to send him their 'dankest memes'. Send me ur dankest memes!! — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) October 25, 2018 And, that was just the beginning. When an opportunity presents itself, you need to grab it and that's exactly what people did. They started replying with a lot of dank memes of, wait for it, Elon himself. Roasting and trolling is an everyday thing on Twitter and this was the perfect chance to roast Elon and people did not disappoint.
