However, as they say, we all have our limits and it looks like SRK also had his limit tested way back in 1992, when a piece of news written on him angered him to no end and left him furious. View this post on Instagram A scandalous news piece written about him and his Maya Memsaab co-star Deepa Shahi claimed that he apparently 'spent the night' with her, and the actor later threatened the editor and reportedly hurled abuses at him. According to Anupama Chopra’s book King of Bollywood: Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema, the intimate scenes between SRK and Deepa Shahi were filmed under the guidance and the presence of her husband Ketan Mehta. The book mentions that a magazine journalist published a scandalous story that Ketan asked his wife Deepa to spend a night with SRK in order to get comfortable with him. SRK assumed it was a journalist named Keith who wrote this piece and he ended up threatening him after being fuelled with anger. When SRK appeared on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, he mentioned this incident as well. “I got very angry and I called up the editor and I said, ‘You wrote this’. He said 'but listen, can you just take it… it’s just a joke'. 'I don’t find it funny' I said and so, I went down to the office and I misbehaved a lot," he said. Talking about the arrest, he quipped “I was shooting a film and the cops came. They sat down very sweetly and said, ‘we have a few questions to ask you’ I said, ‘do you want me to pack and we can chat in my car?’ Because I always assume anyone who meets me is a fan. They said, no, we want you to come in our car!” he laughed. While SRK got bail, he explained that he later called the editor and said “Now I’m in jail, and I’m not scared. Now you are very scared.” Eventually, he found out that the journalist was not the guy he thought so he personally went and apologised. Aditya Pancholi, who often makes headlines for wrong reasons, is back in the limelight for yet another controversy as film producer Sam Fernandes has filed a case against the actor. The producer has accused Aditya of allegedly abusing, assaulting, and threatening him in a hotel. According to reports, Sam has lodged the complaint at Mumbai's Juhu police station. Aditya, reportedly, was pressuring Sam to retain Sooraj in his film based on the life of an Indian heavyweight boxer. Revealing the same, Sam informed TOI, "I had announced the film with Sooraj in the lead role in 2019. He shot for around 12 days for the project. However, things went awry after the first lockdown, as the investors did not want to back a film with Sooraj in the lead. I spoke to Sooraj about it, who himself asked us to go ahead with another actor. However, his father, Aditya Pancholi, insisted that we retain Sooraj and that he would get an investor, but that didn’t happen". A budget of around Rs 25 crore was needed to make the film. While Aditya too gave some money but that wasn't enough. Last month, on January 27, things took an ugly turn between them when the Yes Boss actor called Sam to a hotel for a meeting. Reportedly, the actor threatened the producer to take Sooraj in the film or else he wouldn't let the film be made. Sharing his side of the story, Aditya told TOI that Sam came to him in February 2020 and asked for money after sharing a sob story. The producer told him, ‘Khatam ho jaaunga, ghar girvi rakh diya hai, vendors ka paisa dena hai’. Aditya then allegedly gave him Rs Rs 90 lakh 50 thousand. He added, "On January 27, he visited me at a hotel and, after a while, started misbehaving with me and talking rubbish about Sooraj and my family. He asked me for more money, and I refused. I asked him to return the money he had earlier borrowed, but he flatly refused. Next, I got to know that he filed an NC against me at the Juhu Police Station. I, too, filed an NC against him the following day. I have also filed an application for an FIR against him at the Versova police station". While Sam has accepted that Aditya gave him money but stressed that it was for his son's sake and the film. For the uninitiated, Sooraj made his Bollywood debut in 2015 with Salman Khan-produced Hero opposite Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty. However, the film failed to make a mark at the box office. Akshay Kumar's upcoming period drama Prithviraj, featuring Miss World 2017 Manushi Chillar as the leading lady, is one of the most-awaited films of 2022. While fans are eagerly waiting for its release, the movie has now courted controversy. According to IANS, Prithviraj has landed in trouble as Gurjars in Rajasthan have threatened to stop the film's screening. Yes, you read that right! Reportedly, the community is not happy with the term 'Rajput' used for Prithviraj Chauhan. They are claiming that Prithviraj was from the Gurjar community and not a Rajput. The Gurjar community even protested against the same in Ajmer, a few days ago. They have asked the makers to show Prithviraj Chauhan as a Gurjar king else they will not let them screen the film. Speaking about the same, Gurjar leader Himmat Singh stated, "Prithviraj movie is made on the basis of Prithviraj Raso written by Chand Bardai and the same was shown in the teaser of Prithviraj movie. After studying the inscriptions available in history, researchers have believed that Chand Bardai wrote it around 400 years back after the reign of Prithviraj Chauhan. In the 16th century, the Raso epic was written which is fictional. The epic is written by Chand Bardai in Pringal language which is a mixture of Bajra and Rajasthani languages. During the reign of Gurjar emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, the Sanskrit language was used but not the Pringal language which has been used by the poet". However, Singh's claims have been rejected by the leaders from the Rajput community. According to them, Gurjars were initially gauchar who were later converted into Gujjar and then Gurjars. Shri Rajput Karni Sena national spokesperson Vijendra Singh Shaktawat claimed that Gurjars got this name because the community basically came from Gujarat. While the makers of Akshay Kumar's film are yet to react to the controversy. For the unversed, Prithviraj has been directed by Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi while Yash Raj Films (YRF) have bankrolled it. Also featuring Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood in pivotal roles, the film is slated to release on January 21, 2022.
