  1. It's been a while since I've used a beautiful windows laptop and I got the opportunity to test out HP's latest x360 Convertible laptop. The laptop is a combination of productivity and good looks that cannot be matched by any other laptop right now. When you use the laptop in public, it sure is a head turner. However, the laptop is not only about the looks as it performs well in carrying out tasks, editing images and can even double up as a tablet. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla This versatility makes this one of the best Windows laptops I've ever used. Bear in mind that this laptop is not meant for gaming and is more for daily use such as video consumption, editing images/videos and listening to music. Let's find out how the laptop fared during the course of our review: Design © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla To call this laptop beautiful is an understatement. It looks more stylish than its previous model and the entire chassis is made of aluminium. HP calls it the 'gem cut' as it has angled edges which represents a diamond. The 'Dark Ash Grey' variant looks absolutely stunning with a gold rose finish that gives the laptop a modern look. The design itself also incorporates functionality as you can use it various positions i.e. as a laptop, a tablet, as a tent or in reverse mode. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The laptop is 14mm thin and weighs only 1.31 kg. It's comfortable to carry in your bag and adds to the factor of portability. The power button is also discreetly hidden in the left angled corner with blends in with the overall design of the laptop. The other angled corner houses a USB-C port which can be used for charging and doesn't get in the way of other ports. As the HP x360 has a brand new chassis, it has more room for extra ports such as a slot for microSD, a USB 3 Type A, and extra USB-C port and and audio jack. Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Spectre x360 comes with 13.3-inch UHD WLED IPS panel and is perfect for watching 4K content. The colour representation is accurate and the viewing angles are also up the mark. This laptop also comes with HP Sure View which basically blocks your display from prying eyes. You need to be directly in front of the laptop to see the content which is a handy feature to have in a busy environment. Having said that, the display is also a touchscreen which made it very reflective especially if you use it against the light. Sometimes we found it hard to even read our own text documents due to harsh reflections. Since this is a touchscreen panel with Corning Glass NBT, you will often find yourself cleaning your own fingerprints after using it in tablet mode. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The touchscreen, on the other hand, was quite intuitive and was accurate enough to quick launch applications and take noted with the supplied digital pen. You can always use the laptop in tablet mode by simply folding it back all the way. The hinges on the screen look sturdy and look like it can take enough abuse to last longer than its predecessors. Keyboard The keyboard on the HP Spectre x360 is a dream to use as it has comfortable keystrokes and has a satisfying sound. The keys also provide a 1.4mm key travel which is perfect for typing long documents and also this review. The one thing we didn't like were the three backlit modes for the keyboard as we would have loved to adjust it according to our own preference. The three modes are basically bright, medium bright and off which is not ideal for different room conditions. Security We've already mentioned by HP Sure View that blocks content from prying eyes, however, the HP x360 also has additional security measures such as a fingering scanner and Windows Hello. The fingerprint scanner was very accurate and fast at unlocking the laptop as 'Windows Hello' was not as reliable. Performance The HP Spectre x360 runs on Intel's latest quad-core Whiskey Lake processor that has been made specifically for productivity, video conferencing, web browsing and video streaming. The processor has a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and is more than enough for performing photo editing on Photoshop. Having said that, we would suggest you don't run any other application in the background as it can get quite heavy for the processor to handle the extra load. In terms of memory, the laptop comes with 16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM and cannot be upgraded if you wanted to. Internal storage is also quite impressive as it comes with a 1TB PCIe NVMe TLC SSD. For reference, the laptop got a respectable score of 3,846 in our PCMark 10 test which comes close to the performance of the XPS 13. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Probably our favourite feature of the HP Spectre x360 is the battery life. When using moderately, the laptop is capable of lasting over 20 hours however when using it for productivity and consuming content at the same time, the battery life would fall down to 14 hours. It still manages to last longer than other laptops with a similar configuration thanks to its 4-cell, 61 Wh Li-ion polymer battery. Audio Quality © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We normally don't talk about speakers in a laptop that much however there is something special going on with the HP Spectre x360. It has quad speakers that have been tuned by Bang & Olufsen. There are two speakers on the keyboard deck and two underneath giving it a very crystal clear sound. Having said that, the speakers are ideal for watching movies but you will notice the lack of bass when listening to music. The speakers on the laptop are placed in a manner that you can use them in any orientation i.e. tablet, laptop or in the tent position. This ensures that sound remains uniform in no matter which orientation you plan to use the laptop. The Final Say We used the laptop for a few weeks and we can easily say it's the most beautiful laptop we've ever used. It comes in three configuration where the starting price is Rs 1,39,990. It looks sexy and offers privacy protocols like the HP Sure View. The long battery life is definitely a winner for people who plan to use the HP Spectre x360 on the move. If you are currently looking for a premium Windows laptop, you cannot ignore the HP Spectre x360.

  4. One Love. Who would have thought a simple phrase such as this one could hold such depth of meaning? Yet, it also finds resonance in the iconic Bob Marley song by the same name. If you don't happen to remember the lyrics to that song, you might want to go through it to understand how this universal emotion is our only hope when it comes to guiding the mankind to a better place where “one love” suffices for all. A love without judgements and reservations. One love that's selfless and where acceptance comes easy, just how it is meant to be - something Marley manages to convey so easily in not so many words. Love does not differentiate between the hearts that wants to love, and who it wants to shower that love on. Love is just the same for all of us who are willing to feel it, and give it a chance regardless of what comes in the way. (c) Meghna Sahoo Such is the story of Meghna Sahoo, a transgender woman, and her husband Basudeba Nayak who went against societal diktats and reservations, to give their love the chance it deserved. When Meghna married Basudeba in 2017, she became Odisha's first transgender woman to tie the knot. It turned into a moment of celebration for the transgender community in the state, and have them the power to hope for their own share of love in life. Meghna and Basudeba's love story began through a chance interaction on Facebook. Basudeba happened to be one of Meghna's followers of Facebook, and had found out about Meghna because of her involvement in social activism. But the possibility that she should chance upon his private messages to her, from amongst the hundreds she received regularly, is a play of fate. Recalling her first interaction with Basudeba, Meghna says that, “We had never met each other before the first time we spoke to each other of Facebook. One day when I turned on my Facebook chat after a long time, I noticed that someone named Basudeba had been messaging me everyday on Facebook. At that time he had been going through some personal issues and he was reaching out to me to seek help.” (c) BCCL This forms the premise of Meghna and Basudeba's first virtual association. She also noticed that all this time when she failed to respond to him, he would regularly drop her good morning or good night messages. For the next two years, Basudeba continued trying to speak to her at various points, but couldn't get through. Finally, when Basudeba's messages caught Meghna's attention, she responded. The messages ranged from normal greetings to even marriage proposals. At that point Meghna was already in a relationship with another guy, who said he loved her, but wouldn't make their relationship public or go out with her like regular couples do. He even had concerns that transgender women cannot become mothers and that the society wouldn't accept them. This sour experience cautioned Meghna to not take Basudeba's proposals too seriously either. However, after they began to interact more and more, she came to know about Basudeba's story. “He told me that back in 2011 his wife had eloped with her lover, leaving behind their 10-month old boy. Even after that point we would talk every now and then.” (c) Meghna Sahoo This went on for some time and then suddenly Basudeba proposed to Meghna once again for marriage. But this time Meghna didn't want to get fooled and wanted to see if Basedeba meant what said. She says, “when he proposed this time, I asked him to get his family to bring the marriage proposal to my family. But since his parents had passed away by then, he spoke to his elder brother and sister-in-law. Initially his family was against it and didn't approve of their brother getting married to a kinnar.” However, his family's concern about “log kya kahenge” didn't stop Basudeb from declaring that if he has to marry it will have to be to Meghna and no one else. “He told his family that he really liked me and wished to get married. His other concern was that another woman might mistreat his son, and he didn't want that. His other motivation was that since Meghna couldn't bear children she would be able to give his son her undivided love.” (c) OdishaTV Meghna admits that this last reason didn't hurt her as much as it should because she thought, “at least I would become a mother to a child who needs a mother's affection. Besides, this could also set an example for others to follow. Two lives got better due to this marriage - a child got a mother and a transgender woman got a loving family. Such a possibility for others could better so many lives. That is why I agreed to accept his proposal.” Even until the last moment Basudeba's family didn't give their consent to the wedding. But eventually they gave up and Basudeba and Meghna finally got married on 26th January 2017 with the blessing of both the families. Talking about her wedding day, Meghna shared that “more than ten thousand people came to attend the wedding. Many politicians, social activists and advocates came to attend the wedding even without invitation and gave us their blessings.” (c) Incredibleorissa Meghna and Basudeba just completed two years as a married couple and Meghna is living a happy married life with her husband, son and in-laws. She admits that arguments do crop up every now and then, but she and Basudeba always reach a middle ground, and work things out. However, she admits that her bond with her son is much stronger than that with her own husband. “I have bonded very well with my son and we love each other dearly. I feel I am more closer to him than my husband.” Basudeba for his part has stood by Meghna through it all and has never paid heed to society's judgements. Currently, Meghna is working with an NGO and also became first transgender woman to work with Ola as a driver. Meghna also holds an MBA in HR and Management. Meghna's lone motivation is to change the society's mindset regarding transgender community and inspire other transgenders to live their dream and build a better future for themselves without any inhibitions. Meghna's journey and story has inspired many other transgenders to turn their lives around and hope for the first time, to live their dreams and find the love of their life who would be willing to accept them for who they are and love them.

The picture might be disturbing for some, but these drains have become my dumbells for a few days. I was detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in my right breast with high grade malignant cells. Simply put stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area. The result I have become a half Indian version of Angelina Jolie (since only one breast was involved)! I told my doctor now is the time to give some competition to the Kardashians since Pamela is passé. But no one listened to me, so now I have a portion of my back tissue in my breast. Perhaps now I can do chin-ups with my breasts! Jokes apart, this obstacle has given me a new definition of life. Respect it's unpredictability and have the faith and courage to be the hero of your own drama of life. The invincible human spirit is God like, gives you the courage to endure and the will to revive. There is nothing that human spirit can't do. Also I want women of all ages to be aware. I am 35, and I was returned twice over from a mammogram. If any symptoms come up, think of it as a protective force and get yourselves examined. Also we are so obsessed with boobs. This mastectomy has left me with even more self love! Big, small, left or right inclined , gravity pulling or defying, or even none, each breast the presence or lack of it has a story to tell. Mine has made me a 2.0 version of myself! There have been days when I've been so exhausted and in so much pain that even lifting a finger hurt. I feel like sometimes it's a cycle… one that starts off with physical pain and leads to mental and emotional pain. The bad days have been many… Post chemo, post-surgery and the like… where even just laughing hurts. Sometimes it felt like it took everything I've had to push past it… a minute to minute battle with myself. I got through it knowing that even though I was fighting a long drawn out, draining battle… it was one that was worth the fight. It's important to remember that we're allowed to have those bad days. Forcing yourself to be happy and cheerful all the time serves no purpose. Who are we being fake and putting on an act for? I allowed myself to cry, to feel the pain, to indulge in self-pity… for a short while. Only you know what you're going through and it is fine to accept it. Emotions aren't wrong. Feeling negative emotions isn't wrong. But after a point, identify it, recognize it and refuse to let it control your life. It takes an immense amount of self-care to get out of that zone. Sleep always helps, or having my favourite smoothie after chemo, or just talking to my son. For now, as my treatment continues… my visual focus remains to just get better and get back home. You need a couple for proper survival! This article looks at the rise in the number of people trying to manufacture a fake kidney, sorry a fake hobby! 1. The DSLR Addict! The most common group of hobbyists are 'the DSLR addicts' who try to find natural beauty in everything; ranging from domesticated cockroaches to pig poop. This is followed up by a 300-word commentary on each picture on Instagram and personalised messages on WhatsApp. While this is bearable, it becomes creepy when 'the DSLR addict' starts taking pictures of young women in the name of candid camera, salivating over 'such a pataka'. Creep alert! 2. The Metrosexual Farmer After decades of struggling in cities, the countryside and farming seem to be making a comeback. Getting closer to mother nature is the epitome for this breed of hobbyists. Their social media feeds are filled up with pictures of cute puppies in clean looking agrarian fields with tags comprising of natural, organic, green, clean, fulfilment amidst other passion dosed phrases. Some of them are often caught trying to spot potato on the plant stem and gur on sugarcane. Wonder where the North Indian heat, the pesticides, the buffalos and the ugly tractors go? 3. The Palika Bazaar Of Cult Fit Do you have a friend who always poses with medals of having finished half marathons? Their captions tend to hover around, 'finished this race in record time' accompanied with a dozen selfies during the race. Quick question, how did you manage to finish your race in record time and manage to take so many selfies during that time? Also, why aren't you physically active on the remaining 364 days as indicated by your generous flab! A sister profile of this breed is the fake yoga guru! Beware! 4. The Great Lover Of Poverty After the rise in Xiaomi phones, philanthropy has really taken off! Everyone seems to be waking up nights trying to rake up ways to help undernourished children in sub-Saharan Africa. This breed of hobbyists loves to give back to society and hence start social media pages to garner donations for their funds. On a different note, did someone ask for a recommendation for philanthropic work for admission into an American business school? Such a kind-hearted soul! 5. The Nation Builder This group of nation builders can be summarised in a single neat sentence, 'my leader is more virile than yours'. This group of hobbyists can be characterised by excessive vitriolic, sorry passionate discussions on social media about their political leaders and their resultant nation building. This street fight multiplies disproportionately as seemingly sensible people start fighting like your mother and wife! 6. The Adventure Junkie Mankind has seen a massive adrenaline shift after the birth of Instagram. In terms of importance, the birth of Instagram has been chronicled in the annals of history along with the extinction of dinosaurs, the invention of the steam engine and World War 2. Adventures like rock climbing, para-gliding, rafting, bungee jumping, sky diving are so yesterday. The adventure junkie is always looking for the next high. The next in-thing on their list is to spend a night inside a coffin with a skeleton. Apparently, the Google Pixel phone takes excellent low light pictures! 7. The Motivator As you might be aware, India has fared very low on the happiness index. This has led to the birth of 'the motivator' whose single biggest mission is to make people realise their inner potential. To clarify, this is not the group of hobbyists that posts 'Good Morning,' 'I love you' and 'thank you' on all the family WhatsApp groups. The motivator genuinely believes in making people realise their potential; hence their social media feeds are filled up with, 'you can achieve', 'aim for the stars', 'follow your dreams', 'when the going gets tough, you get going' amidst other noble lines. As I write this, tears of gratitude are dripping down my face! 8. The Serial Entrepreneur Once seen as a huge deal breaker in securing matrimonial alliances, the tag of an entrepreneur has come a long way! In common parlance, throw a stone at someone on 100 feet road in Bangalore and you will spot a visionary entrepreneur. This group of hobbyists, who are under the inner torrential frenzy of adding value to everyone, are obsessed with changing the world and making humanity a better place! I am sorry, how many of your startups have ever made a dime in life? 9. The Cat Lover A cat has nine lives and hence it lands up on the ninth spot on this list. Once upon a time, cute pets were synonymous with the Vodafone pug. As the Indian economy has leapfrogged, cats seem to have taken centre stage. Screaming out, 'kitty kitty kitty' at restaurants is perceived to be extremely cool. This group of hobbyists indulges in putting up scintillating pictures of cat love, the success of their cats in a cat grooming race and pictures of cat manicure and pedicure! Please don't bark back at them in retaliation! 10. The Real Warren Buffett It is ironical that Warren Buffett made so much money while this group of hobbyists barely gets any publicity. This group is characterised by their know it all commentary on interest rates, stock market movement, hot picks, cool tips, lukewarm opportunities at dinner tables. It is unfortunate no one has ever asked them, 'mate, how much money have you made on your own?' In summary, there are many more such passionate groups of hobbyists; the enthusiastic historian, the artistic cake baker, the vintage dancer, the pseudo-intellectual educationist, the always right tarot card reader, etc. However, you should be careful while spilling your passion over to your immediate world. You don't want your circles to go, 'fake hobby alert'!

I recommend performing these movements first thing in the morning after having a shot of black coffee and a scoop of protein. This ensures you get it done every day and also give you a sense of achievement to kick-start your morning. 1) Push Ups © Thinkstock Images The good old push up is an ultimate exercise for upper body development. It targets your pectoral major, triceps, anterior delts and also engages your core. One mistake which majority of bros do with push-ups is: Chasing the number of reps. The reps do not matter, the number of quality reps does. If you can only perform 6 push-ups with proper form, stick to it and perform more sets, instead of more reps with poor form. In terms of internal storage, the smartphone comes in one configuration for India i.e. 128GB.To back up these components, the ASUS ROG phone has a 4,000 mAh battery which is enough for mobile gaming and daily usage. The phone performed well during the course of our review as it could easily handle day-to-day tasks and we didn't come across any glitches of OS flaws. The 90Hz refresh rate on the display did give us a slight advantage over our enemies as the game felt much smoother as compared to playing it on other flagship smartphones. When playing games on smartphones, battery life is one of the most important features to consider. During our gaming session, PUBG Mobile did not consume a lot of battery thanks to the massive 4,000 mAh battery. We even used the secondary USB-C port to use the Aeroactive cooler accessory that would cool the device when it would heat up while playing games. Having said that, if you look at the smartphone from a buyer's perspective, it's not really a feasible smartphone if you're on a budget. Costing Rs 69,990, your an always buy the Huawei Mate 20 Pro for the same price and get cheaper accessories for a good gaming experience. I absolutely love this smartphone to the core as it appeals to the gamer in me, however, it's something only an enthusiast would buy.

  13. This article is going to be very personal for me, as I will be sharing with you my own experience with workout addiction. Yes, that's true; you can become addicted to exercise. Though a majority of the people around the world find it hard to get the ample motivation to exercise regularly, there is a small population who IS addicted to it. Yes, the ones who often spend their online surfing time reading fitness blogs like this one! No, I am not saying that you are definitely an addict if you're reading this article, but I want to share a few traits of someone who works out constantly. But before I get down to those symptoms, let me tell you more about my own experience of workout addiction. I have loved to be active in my entire life, at least as far as I can remember. I just love to sweat daily and get that endorphin high. I easily get carried away, trying to squeeze in more intensity, more strength, the list goes on, but the bottom line is, I don't always know when to give my body a break. Or rather I should say, technically I do 'know' (as it's my profession) but I still struggle with establishing the right balance. The result is inadequate recovery, and suffering from a host of consequences which could range from mild to severe. Strange as it may sound, but once exercise is in your blood, in your regular routine, you simply feel “off” when you skip it. I become moody and irritable when I don't get my daily sweat session. Now that's a good thing if it gives you the motivation but it's not for everyone and hugely depends on your training age. The problem starts when your body is not adequately recovering and you simply don't know how to take a break. Below is the list of the signs that indicate you are overtraining - 1) Sleeping Too Much Or Not Sleeping At All If you are tired and sleepy all the time even after getting a good night sleep or if you find it hard to get a good night sleep, you might be a victim of overtraining. Working out too much can release stress hormone like cortisol which can interfere with your sleep. On the other hand, working out daily with a high intensity can increase your recovery period to a point where you always feel sleepy. © Pixabay 2) Getting Sick Very Frequently Over-exercising can weaken your immune system as it will always be busy with the post-workout repair. Exercise is meant to strengthen your immune system and not to weaken it. With hardly 2.000 occupants as of 2013, the city was thought of to be a massive failure. But it seems to be changing now, as per new reports of 2017; owing to the mounting curiosity among travellers across the world for ghost cities. The count of inhabitants has come to be around 30,000, giving its real estate a chance to see growth in a long time. But she wasn't to be silenced, and here's how she gave it back to the bullies on Live TV: "I've lived in Hyderabad all my life, my forefathers have lived in Hyderabad all their lives.   19. The ketogenic diet is the new in-thing for fad dieters across the globe lately. The fad has become so popular that anyone and everyone who knows about this diet is supposedly an expert in nutrition now. How Is It A Fad Diet? It makes dubious claims like there is no other diet you should follow, it treats diseases medical science has spent decades on researching and they are still finding a way out, it has magical superpowers, you will spot unicorns if you go on this diet and so on. I do not hate the dietary pattern as such but it is promoted as the only thing that works and that is my problem. And then there is a certain section of hardcore fad fanatics who take it to the next level of stupidity. In the nutrition world, we like to call them keto-tards. What are the five signs that someone has become a keto-tard? 1) They Buy Ketone Supplements These supplements suggest that they induce dietary ketosis and thus you will end up burning more fat as fuel. This makes keto-tards stick to their ketone supplements like a bee to honey. Maybe the analogy is pointless as honey is not keto friendly. Getting back to the point, dietary ketosis does not mean anything unless you are in a caloric deficit. You can have all the ketones running in your blood and still get fat if you eat more calories. 2) They Keep Adding Fat To All Their Food © YouTube Coffee? Add butter and coconut oil. Eggs? Add heaps of butter to it. Meat? Have the fattiest portion and cook it with more fat. That, right there, is a logical fallacy. How so? The idea that someone had to go on a diet was to cut down their caloric intake and lose some weight. By just adding a lot of fat to every meal of theirs and not accounting for it, they are inviting more trouble to their bodies. 3) Calories Do Not Count This is the epitome of stupid by keto-tards. Just because they can induce self-suffering by cutting out an entire macronutrient from their diets, they think they supersede the laws of thermodynamics and become some special beings. Calories do not count on keto? Yeah, and earth is flat. © YouTube 4) They Keto Recipe Everything These fad fanatics create keto version of every possible food on the planet. They will add either some very expensive ingredients or will create some magical concoction of food items just to get a taste similar to that of the normal and easy to prepare recipes out there. And the funny part is, most of these recipes are twice the caloric value of the original recipe, thrice in the cost of preparation, and taste something that is not even close to the original delicacy. How is that helpful? 5) They Think Keto Is The Answer To Everything Why is there a world war? Because not everyone follows keto. Why are there natural disasters? Because people were not on a keto diet! That may be exaggerated but these keto-tards do end up preaching keto as the tell-all solution to health and lifestyle disorders. Which, clearly, is not the case and there is evidence suggesting otherwise. But again, they have a moral responsibility to push their keto-tardness on everyone in sight.   22. Just last year, the #metoo movement hushed the world with its great attempt to highlight closeted abuse prevalent in Hollywood. The movement trickled down halfway across the world and a lot of women came forward and spoke about their #metoo stories and brought them out in the open. It's beautiful to imagine that a movement, which started off in such a fragile environment, became larger than life and acted like a ripple effect. Every woman had a story to share and while I deliberate on the term 'woman', I am not forgetting the men who've come out with their stories under the hashtag #mentoo, giving other men the strength to talk about the abuse they've gone through. © Pexels It took a year, but the movement reached Bollywood this year when Tanushree Datta, an actress popular in the late 2000's came out with her story about the prevalence of sexual harassment in the industry. We all know it's there and it happens but the incidents are usually hushed up in more ways than one and they get swept under the rug, time and again. When Tanushree came forward and spoke about being harassed by her then co-star and veteran actor Nana Patekar, the entire industry was taken aback and decided to sit on the fence, while she talked about what happened with her, ten years ago on the sets of the movie 'Horn Ok, Please'. More than debating about the fact that a reasonably successful man misbehaved with a significantly new actress on the sets of the movie, people started questioning her motive and the 'timeline' of abuse. © Thinkstock Images Yes, the timeline. This is what this article is predominantly about. By timeline, I mean the time it took for her to come out in the open and talk about what the 'perpetrator' had done. Many people contested the fact that she talked about the incident years after it had passed, so it held no relevance now. But let me tell you a not-so-hidden fact. Abuse has no timeline. There is no way to reason out logically what your body and mind go through and when is the right time to talk about it. When you go through 'abuse' of any sort, be it mental, sexual, emotional or physical, your body takes time to process it, simply because you 'freeze' at the time it's happening and your first instinct is self-preservation by processing the incident. That is why abuse and harassment survivors come out after years of the occurrence and finally talk about it. It also takes a lot of courage and strength to mentally gratify your mind to finally be verbal about the incident and it's certainly not easy to do so. So, when Tanushree Datta talks about it ten years later, it's really not to berate the man in question but to open a fresh new chapter in Bollywood or anywhere else for that matter, and talk about it openly, regardless of the time gone by. © Twitter To make things more clear about how the timeline is not a question of importance for an abuse survivor, I rounded up 5 brave men, who openly talk about abuse and harassment they went through and how long it took for them to come out in the open with it. Because, #mentoo. (1) "It Took Me 5 Years To Process It" "I was in the local in Mumbai from Dadar to Andheri and it was crowded like it usually is. It was a normal day and I was heading to work and I was lost in thought. Suddenly I felt a hand all over my back and going down to my pants. Since the train was too crowded, I tried to move forward an inch. The hand went away but it came back again and this time, it grabbed my behind (butt) and started stroking it. I was feeling embarrassed and humiliated but it wouldn't let go. I finally turned around to see who it was but I couldn't find the man. I felt really disgusted and humiliated and decided to skip work. I also kept thinking about my sister and my women friends who travel every other day and what they go through. At least this incident made me think about that. But I couldn't talk about it to anyone. I was embarrassed and scared that people would make fun of it. Last year, when men started putting up FB posts about #mentoo, I gathered the courage to put a post as well and I was shocked at how well responsive and helpful the audience was. It's been 6 years since that incident. It Took Me 5 Years To Process It" - Gaurav, 28 © Pexels (2) "I Didn't Tell Anyone For Over Ten Years" "I don't want to go into the details because I've gone over the details of the incident too many times in my head, but I was molested by a close family member as a child, a bunch of times when I was 12. It was just easy for 'her' to come into my room and touch me inappropriately and I knew it was wrong. Of course, she asked me to keep quiet about it but even after I was a grown man, I couldn't even think of talking about it. I would shy away from 'touch' and wasn't too sexually active. I didn't tell anyone over ten years. A few years ago when I was facing difficulty forgetting the incident, I started seeking professional help and spoke to a therapist about it and finally opened up. Now I am glad a lot of people are doing the same. I don't feel left out. Honestly, it's okay to talk about it. Just need to be ready, that's all"! - Anonymous, 24 © Thinkstock Images (3) "Time Has Nothing To Do With It" "Time has nothing to do with it. I took a long time to come out and talk about the abuse and assault I went through in my boarding school as a child. It took me years and years to gather courage, confidence and strength to talk about what I had been put through by my seniors in school. I was scarred for life and scared of everything. Now that I have faced my demons, I can stand up to anything. I even looked into the eyes of my abuser when I saw one of them recently and told him off. It's only when you process it and accept it consciously, you let go of it slowly and gain yourself back". - Amit, 27 © Pexels (4) "I Didn't Tell Anyone For Two Years" "I am gay and I was 'date raped' two years ago. Recently I talked about the incident vocally for other gay men to come out and talk about similar instances. I feel it's not about the gender but about what you go through as a human being. I didn't tell anyone for two years because I was humiliated and raped without even my knowledge. But today when I recall the incident, I know I am safe talking about it, even though it happened two years ago. It took me that long to come to terms with it, and what I want to say is that it doesn't matter how long it takes for you to talk about abuse, as long as you bring it out in the open and face it, you're good and you're strong". - Rajat, 30 (name changed) © Pexels (5) "I Was Abused At 5 And I Am 50 Now" I went through sexual abuse at 5 and I am 50 now. This is the first time I am talking about it apart from talking to my therapist. I feel confident enough to talk about it now. I was abused by a man, while I was travelling with my mother on a train. I kept quiet for 45 years because I thought no one could understand what I went through. But when I met my wife, I told her about the small fears I had and she helped me a lot in opening up about it. Abuse has no age and when you want to speak about it has no timeline. You can come out whenever you want with it and you'll still hold your dignity intact. You will gain strength and courage to talk about it." - Praveen, 50 © Pexels Really, abuse and harassment, sexual or otherwise have no timeline. Recently I read a 90-year-old woman spoke about the abuse she went through when she was 10! Give yourself time and patience to deal with it accurately to process it properly and talk about it courageously, whenever you are ready.

  24. After enduring a heart-breaking loss in the Champions Trophy final last year, the Indian cricket team patiently waited for an opportunity to return the favour to arch-rivals Pakistan. And, after almost 15 months, the Men in Blue finally got a chance in the group-stage clash of the 2018 Asia Cup. In what was touted to be the mother of all battles, Rohit Sharma's men didn't just avenge their loss in England but absolutely steamrolled Pakistan in a convincing eight-wicket win in Dubai. Labelled as one of the tournament's favourites, Pakistan looked like a shadow of the side that trounced India in England. None of the so-called batting maestros of Pakistan - including the dashing opener Fakhar Zaman - came to the party, as their side was quickly bowled out for a paltry total of 162 runs. The total was never going to be a problem for a strong batting side like India and, as expected, the sub-continent giants notched up the target with eight wickets and 21 overs to spare. © Twitter Given their dismal show early in the tournament, there was no surprise to see the Pakistani side being hammered by their fans on social media. Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur went on to blame his team's batsmen for their heavy loss against India. He rued the poor shot selections of the Pakistani batsmen and asked them to play with more responsibility. Apart from the Pakistan coach, former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, too, minced no words in his assessment. However, Gavaskar targetted one particular Pakistani batsman and it wasn't for his cheap dismissal, but for the antics on the field. Pakistani opener Zaman was expected to get his side to a solid start by probably repeating his heroics from the Champions Trophy last year. But, contrary to popular perception, the left-hander got out cheaply while playing a rash shot. And, that's not all. But, Zaman wasn't the only one whose overtly stylish conduct on the field had Gavaskar fuming. Later, in the match, the former Indian batsman was heard criticising Dinesh Karthik for opting for his initials 'DK' and not his name emplaced behind the Indian jersey. “Maybe that's his nickname but since the jersey carries his number, people should identify with the name. Maybe with the name, he can have his initials,” Gavaskar said. Going ahead in the tournament, Pakistan will now lock horns with Afghanistan in the Super Four stage, while the Indian team will take on Bangladesh on 21st September.
