  1. A movie trailer comes out, people on Twitter make memes on it - you know the drill. There is absolutely nothing that can escape from getting memed and when it comes to a movie like 'Total Dhamaal', you know it's begging to become the next big meme. So, of course, like always, Twitter did not disappoint, not that we ever doubted that. The trailer came out yesterday and it's still the top trending video on YouTube. Guess people really love these movies. But, it was trending on Twitter for another reason as well. As soon as the trailer was out, so were the hilarious reactions on it. The movie has possibly one of the biggest ensemble cast in recent times that includes Madhuri Dixit, Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever and the original cast including Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Riteish Deshmukh. While the huge star cast was enough to create excitement, it also gave room to a lot of people to make memes on and everyone took advantage of that. From Ajay Devgn's dialogues to the poor VFX, everything got the meme treatment and here are the best ones. Everyone really hates the VFX. 2. The trailer of the much-awaited comic caper of the year and the third movie from the 'Dhamaal' series, 'Total Dhamaal', is finally out and looks like it is going to be one of the highest grossing family entertainers of the year. The storyline follows the previous plot of a group of people chasing a treasure and they've thrown some VFX effects in it which is quite passable if you ask us. © Fox Star Studios Overall, the trailer looks like it's probably one of the only clean, out and out, proper comedy movies which you can basically watch with your entire extended family in tow. The project is helmed by Indra Kumar who is well versed with the genre and it is interesting to have this movie from him since his last outing was the 'Masti' series which is an adult comedy franchise. The movie hits the theatres on 22nd February so make sure your plans are ready.
  3. Okay. If I'm being honest here, when I saw the first trailer of 'Shazam', my instant reaction was 'what the f*ck?' I mean, this was a DC movie for crying out loud, so why did it look like anything but a regular DC movie, which is full of dark and brooding angst? With all the jokes and the damn bright colours…something was off. But hey, I was not complaining. I am all for change, and if DC is on its way to shedding its dark avatar and incorporates a little heart and humour, I am in! So, when the second trailer of 'Shazam' dropped, sure I was expecting the awesomeness of the last trailer, and I was not disappointed. I mean. LOOK. AT. THAT. Oh, yes, please! Also, I was waiting for the slapstick cheesy humour. And it was delivered perfectly making fans chuckle in unison. But, what I did NOT see coming was the obvious swing it took at one of its own most iconic characters- BATMAN! A few seconds into the trailer and we get to see the giant red words saying- HE'S NOT SO SERIOUS! I mean, come on! You've got to agree that turning the Joker's iconic line around into something so silly yet awesome, was brilliant! Kind of sets the whole tone for the movie and gives us a hint of what we should expect from the movie. Also Billie, who is now in his full-on, bright and ridiculously padded up Shazam costume, sitting with his best friend Freddy and asking a real estate agent for a 'lair' which is ideally located on a “cliff or a castle-esque thing, overlooking some water splashing on rocks and stuff” is the most hysterical thing ever! Of course, we get to see more of Shazam in pure hero-mode putting his awesome powers to use. Watch the full trailer: Needless to say, the trailer left me salivating and wanting for more. However, I wasn't so sure if a lot of DC fans were going to like this radical change in concept, but I had nothing to worry about, as fans are clearly loving this trailer: After seeing Aquaman and watching the new teaser for #Shazam, I'm so excited to see where the DC universe is going in terms of film. Are we gonna have a resurgence in quality? Could we have another Dark Knight on our hands sometime soon? Only time will tell, but I hope so. — Ryan Dunn (@9thWallMedia) January 21, 2019 I really love The Dark Knight Returns esque moment when Billy jumps off the roof and calls the lightning. 6. Everyone's reaction after watching the 'Spiderman: Far From Home' trailer - Everyone's reaction right after realizing Tony Stark isn't in the trailer. Yep, almost every person jumped to the conclusion that Tony Stark will die in 'Avengers: Endgame' and that's the reason we don't have Peter Parker's mentor in the trailer. Moreover, just like every single Marvel movie trailer, everyone's dissected it completely to find clues and easter eggs, and 'Spiderman: Far From Home' is under even more scrutiny since it will be the first MCU movie after 'Avengers: Endgame', a movie where we are going to see so many of our favourite characters come back to life and so many characters die. So obviously, people are looking for any clues they can find and the biggest one was Tony Stark's fate. We have been hearing for so long that Tony will actually die and not be a part of any MCU movie after the fourth Avengers, mainly because Robert Downey Jr's contract is up. The absence of Tony from the Spiderman trailer didn't help the case and people found even more instances that would point to the fact that Tony and RDJ are gone from MCU forever. But, all the points can be explained and I'm going to try my best to do it. Here are some things that everyone considers to be pointing to Tony's death so let's go debunking! 1. Tony Stark is missing from the trailer Of course, they won't put Tony in the trailer when it's coming out before 'Avengers: Endgame'. The secrecy that revolves around everything Avengers related is not itself a secret. Marvel is not stupid enough to put Tony in the trailer and basically spoil 'Avengers: Endgame'. 2. Pepper signed the cheque Pepper has been running Stark Industries for years, it's pretty obvious she'll sign all the cheques and not Tony. She's CEO, bitch. 3. Peter apparently looks at the Spiderman suit sadly No, he did not, he really did not. People thought Peter looked sad looking at his suit which was made by Tony, but honestly, the scene just shows him deciding to not take his suit along with him, not taking his suit 'far from home'. 4. Happy says “You're all alone” This is the dialogue that caused so many people to speculate that Happy is referring to Tony - or rather his absence - but it could be about anyone. It will probably be Happy just telling Peter that he's alone in Europe, and doesn't have any other superhero to help him. 5. Tony just can't die No, I'm not saying that he's immortal or something, but I'm just straight up refusing the fact that Tony's dead or will die, at least until it actually happens. The man has gone through hell these last 10 years, he deserves to finally have a normal life.
  7. The final trailer of 'Hotel Mumbai' showcases an emotionally electrifying account of what went down during the horrific 26/11 Mumbai terrorist attacks on 26th November 2008. The movie is based on a documentary called 'Surviving Mumbai' and highlights the horrors and the nightmares from one of the deadliest terror attacks in the history of our nation, which still seem like fresh wounds in our hearts This movie stars Anupam Kher, Dev Patel and Jason Issacs in the lead. © Netflix © Netflix The movie garnered a lot of accolades when it was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival back in September and is releasing this March on Netflix. The movie is an account of what happened during the attack when people tried to seek refuge and many lost their lives when the gun firing began. © Netflix It is an emotionally gripping ride and you need to make sure you watch it to exactly understand what the victims and the survivors endured that day.
  8. The trailer of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's upcoming movie 'Gully Boy' dropped yesterday and boy, did it surprise us all! If not the 'desi' Eminem, then you'd at least want to call Ranveer the biggest superstar Bollywood has right now. The movie is already being aired at the Berlin Film Festival and will release in India on 14th February. If the trailer made you add this movie to your 'must watch' list, then the memes that are going viral will also give you a hearty laugh. 9. The poster of 'Gully Boy' says 'Apna Time Ayega', but his millions of fans have confirmed that Bollywood's livewire aka Ranveer Singh's time has already come. After breaking the box-office records with 'Simmba', Ranveer Singh is back in action as an uber cool rapper, who is here to show the world what 'asli hip hop' is. © Excel Entertainment The almost three-minute trailer of 'Gully Boy' dropped earlier today and so did our jaws when we saw how single-handedly Ranveer owns the whole show. Words are clearly not enough for this trailer and just like us, Bollywood too is in awe of its brilliance. © Excel Entertainment From Janhvi Kapoor to Karan Johar, everyone seems to be smitten by Ranveer Singh's acting and rapping skills. 10. First thing first: If you haven't yet watched the trailer of 'Gully Boy', please do it because it's insane. Now, let's look at the topic at hand. The trailer just launched, and Ranveer, as usual, decided to wear something that will not allow anyone else to steal his thunder (good luck to whoever tries, huh). He wore a bright yellow puffer jacket on top of a shocking purple T-shirt. © Viral Bhayani Plus an orange head band. Plus a pair of graphic sunnies in shocking pink. © Viral Bhayani Now, that in itself is enough, one would think, in terms of making a statement. But it's not any normal mortal we're talking about here. Since when has Ranveer believed in boundaries? The result? His choice of pants. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Ranveer is wearing an insane pair of pants by the iconic Jeremy Scott, for Adidas Originals. Technically a pair of trousers for women (as originally designed), the Motor Cross embroidered trousers pack a punch like no other. The purple, yellow, and green patches on a black base make it a piece that is all about sheer runway glam. © Lyst The detailing and the edgy calligraphy makes it a pair of pants that looks like it belongs in a fashion museum. © Lyst Look at that craftsmanship! © Lyst Who else can pull it off, if not Ranveer? (Loving those shoes, too.) © Viral Bhayani Can't wait for the movie, Baba!
  11. The buzz around Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer 'Gully Boy' does not seem to be dying down at all. It all started with Zoya Akhtar's announcement the she plans to make a movie inspired by the life story and achievements of rappers Divine and Naezy, which would also depict the lives of upcoming hip-hop singers and rappers in Mumbai at large. View this post on Instagram Aasmaan ko chukaar niklenge tere saamne @ranveersingh @dubsharma #GullyGang A post shared by D I V I N E (GULLYGANG) (@vivianakadivine) on Mar 31, 2018 at 8:47am PDT This was followed by the release of the movie posters at the beginning of this year, which piqued the interest of movie-goers and desi hip-hop fans alike! The teaser soon followed, and honestly, no one has been able to keep calm for obvious reasons! The teaser gave us a glimpse the rising rap-star played by Ranveer, and his portrayal and original rap 'Asli Hip Hop' has taken the entire nation by storm! Ranveer and Alia's portrayal of two youngsters who live in the fringes of society, but wish to realise their dreams and aspirations, have struck a chord with millions in the country. The trailer for 'Gully Boy' just dropped and it's a marvel how intimately the director has captured the struggles and fighting spirit of aspiring rappers in Mumbai, and traced their journey from the backstreets of the city to acquiring fame. Ranveer's serenades in the trailer is top notch music to the ears, and we can totally say that Divine's effort of teaching Ranveer the nuances of rapping are pretty evident. Ranveer and Alia's chemistry in the trailer is top-notch, and we can't wait to unravel their story. We are smelling a love triangle in the making, given that Kalki Koechlin also seems pretty taken by the rapper boy here. The trailer, with its many narratives, has effectively drawn us into the world of the underground rappers in Mumbai, who are trying to rise above their realities, setbacks and societal prejudices, to create a name and space for themselves. Ranveer's character is all set to take us through an equally emotional journey, that exposes the raw side of a struggling artist waiting to unleash his passion. Alia makes for an honest 'gundi', who also happens to be a loving and supportive girlfriend. The picturisations seem too true to life, and we're loving it! This is going to be one hell of a ride, and perhaps like fans and hip-hop lovers in the country are claiming, this film in all probability might bring about the hip-hop revolution India has been waiting for all this time. We have loved how Zoya has presented these young dreams on the silver screen, and it wouldn't be wrong to say that it's going to be a long wait till the movie releases. 'Gully Boy' releases on 14th February.
  12. The trailer of this year's highly-anticipated movie, 'Sonchiriya', is out and after watching it, we can say that there couldn't have been a better way to start this year. Unlike the teaser of 'Drive', where Sushant Singh Rajput was nowhere to be seen, this one has him take the centrestage as a rebel among the rebels in this dacoit drama, which is set in the valleys of Chambal. RSVP Films Set during the 1975 emergency, this gritty trailer narrates the dreadful tale of the dacoits in the Chambal valley and the differences that arise amongst the dacoits when one of them decides to surrender to the police. Right from the dialogues, the accent to the action-packed scenes, everything is brilliant about this film that is directed by Abhishek Chaubey who is known for making films like 'Udta Punjab' and 'Ishqiya'. The movie also stars Ashutosh Rana, Manoj Bajpai and Ranvir Shorey; a dream team almost every director wants to work with. 'Sonchiriya' also stars Jatin Sarna from 'Sacred Games' and Bhumi Pednekar and is expected to release on February 8th.

  14. While we haven't even completely recovered from the 100-cr storm that was 'Simmba', which is still roaring as loud as possible at the box office, actor Ranveer Singh is back in action as an uber cool rapper who is here to show the world what 'asli hip hop' is, in the trailer announcement of 'Gully Boy'. While both the movies continue to rule the box office, if the trailer announcement of 'Gully Boy' is anything to go by, then he might just make a hat-trick of giving back-to-back blockbusters. View this post on Instagram The voice of the streets. #GullyBoy #14thFeb @ritesh_sid @zoieakhtar @faroutakhtar @excelmovies #TigerBaby @aliaabhatt @zeemusiccompany A post shared by Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) on Jan 1, 2019 at 7:30pm PST The video begins with Ranveer, who goes from being an underdog rapper on the streets on Mumbai to a big shot in the world of rap and Hip Hop, taking us though his life, journey and people around him and struggles he overcomes to fulfill his dream. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin and it will be interesting to see how the equations change, in what looks like a love-triangle. In case, you didn't know, 'Gully Boy' is based on the lives of real people and in particular the rapper, Divine. While Ranveer's fans love him for his versatility and insane levels of energy, his wife Deepika Padukone too is extremely proud of Ranveer. When Ranveer shared the 'Gully Boy' trailer announcement news, Deepika was one of the first few to comment and she wrote, "You are unstoppable," and "I love you & I am so proud of you." Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the official trailer of 'Gully Boy' will drop on 9th January and the movie will release on February 14.
  15. One of this year's most anticipated movies 'The Accidental Prime Minister' starring Anupam Kher in the lead role, as former Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, has yet again made headlines, after being constantly entangled in controversies since its trailer released last week. If you are wondering what the film has gotten itself into this time around, then we'd ask you to hold your horses right there. Why? Because it seems like “somebody” has made sure that the anticipation and hype around the movie be cut short. Perhaps in the hopes of distracting the audience and Indian citizens from the can of worms the movie is set to unravel. © Rudra Productions Last evening Anupam Kher who plays the lead role in the movie, pointed out that the trailer for 'The Accidental Prime Minister' has gone missing from YouTube (or most likely it was taken down). The trailer had over 37 million views since its release, and was trending at #1! Audience have openly appreciated the performance of Kher and Akshaye Khanna who shall be seen essaying the role of Sanjaya Baru in the film. The possibilities seem to have irked Kher quite a bit, since he took to Twitter to share his concern regarding the issue. Dear @YouTube!!! Much like the book, the movie tries to trace the journey of the former PM, while he ruled the nation on the behest of the Congress party, and Sonia Gandhi in particular. While we smell something fishy here, let's wait and see what else the movie holds in store.
  16. You know what's weird? The official Twitter account of a political party sharing a movie trailer. I don't think that has been done ever before, but BJP is here to break all the rules, apparently. The trailer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister' dropped yesterday and has obviously gotten a lot of shares online but the most important, talked about share came from BJP. Along with the trailer, the tweet also said - Riveting tale of how a family held the country to ransom for 10 long years. Was Dr Singh just a regent who was holding on to the PM's chair till the time heir was ready? Watch the official trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, based on an insider's account, releasing on 11 Jan! pic.twitter.com/ToliKa8xaH — BJP (@BJP4India) December 27, 2018 Obviously, this particular tweet got a lot of attention for all the wrong reasons. Some people questioned how a ruling party can openly endorse a movie about the opposition while some questioned the credibility of the 'insider account' since the endorsement by BJP made things confusing. I had some expectations... but with BJP making this such obvious political movie and @AnupamPKher seems to be over acting, will have to miss it.. book was good though. Wasted an awesome subject https://t.co/3p76EoMVKI — Santosh Thourani (@smalltownsanta) December 28, 2018 Can they? I'm still not sure. Never knew a political party can campaign for a commercial film ... Desperate! https://t.co/JWQhlvetsl — Rathish M Saravanan (@dearrathish) December 28, 2018 Hmm. After all, any publicity is good publicity https://t.co/iKNYsiAAKm — SuranjanaRB (@SuranjanaRb) December 28, 2018 We can just hope. Is it the first time that a national party of BJP's scale is promoting a movie trailer? Is this movie an instrument to humiliate one of the most learned PM's the country ever had... hopefully not. https://t.co/rjNjEHCoPk — Raktimâï¸ (@1cosmicguru) December 28, 2018 Don't know. It just a movie based on a book. Why this desperation? https://t.co/d3WhSBOKRR — Abhishek Parashar (@abhishekiimc) December 28, 2018 Oh no. A political party promoting a movie. The erosion of @AnupamPKher's goodwill is finally complete. https://t.co/heACvvyhqe — shubhankar.c (@monkeypreneur) December 28, 2018 Okay then. Bjp promoting this.. wow.. @AnupamPKher it shows clear political intention and you liked this tweet also.. sirji I am a big fan of yours but this is not acceptable and also trailer shows it clearly undermines Dr Singh. https://t.co/0I25gqN3By — Just kunal (@motakunal) December 28, 2018 Apparently. 17. In 2014 Sanjaya Baru, Indian policy analyst and media advisor to former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh, stirred up quite a storm by releasing his controversial book, 'The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh'. © Rudra Productions Fast forward to the present and the reel-life Baru is all set to stir up a storm at the box-office with his incredible performance. We're talking about Akshaye Khanna, who has already won us over with his portrayal of Baru in the brilliant trailer of 'The Accidental Prime Minister', which dropped today. © Instagram Anupam Kher as Dr. Manmohan Singh looks amazing in the trailer, but it's actually Akshaye Khanna who has clean bowled us with his sassy and shrewd narration and owned the trailer in the truest sense. But, of course, Anupam Kher too deserves all the credit for portraying such a complex character and adapting Singh's silent yet strong mannerism with utmost brilliance. While the book certainly gave fodder to the opposition as well as the entire nation to question Manmohan Singh's powers, and Sonia Gandhi and the Congress party's impact on his political decisions; the movie is a bold and daring attempt at answering those accusations and Dr Singh's alleged conflicts with the party. Suzanne Bernert too does a great job as Sonia Gandhi, who persistently tries to push for her son Rahul Gandhi to become the prime minister, while the country was going through a political crisis. Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, 'The Accidental Prime Minister' will be releasing on January 11, 2019.

  23. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is basically a gift to Bollywood and mankind in general, as the mad genius in him chases perfection like no one else. His next movie is a biopic of Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray and as usual, the actor has nailed the role with perfection. Watch the trailer to believe it for yourself. Nawaz strikes an uncanny resemblance to Bal Thackeray in the trailer and looks fabulously convincing. The movie will trace the life story of Thackeray and present the insider story of how he became a massive political figure, who represented the people of Maharashtra with sheer determination.
