  4. Produced by ALT Balaji, Lock Upp, is one of the most controversial shows made for Indian audiences. It is also one of the most followed web shows as evidenced by its high social media engagement. Even though the show only kicked off some weeks back, favorites have already been picked by Lock Upp’s viewers from among the contestants of the show. Central to the show is the firebrand energy that controversy Queen Kangana Ranaut brings to it, with her seemingly scripted haranguing and bullying giving the Indian audiences a satisfying sense of schadenfreude. © Kangana Ranaut However, what was most surprising, was witnessing the otherwise raging Kangana fawn over one of the contestants of the show. Poonam Pandey’s ‘seduction act’, which was a part of the task, seems to have turned the host into a fan of the adult entertainer. If you’re new to the show, then let us tell you that ‘Lock Upp’ started back in February of this year, and has been seeing record-breaking viewership ever since. The risque reality show has been produced by Ekta Kapoor and is currently streaming on MX Player and ALT Balaji. On the face of it, the show’s premise may come off as crude, with controversial participants expected to survive an assortment of tasks thrown their way, while already surviving on minimum utilities. However, gauging by the response the reality show has been receiving, the show seems to be on to something. With Kangana playing host, not only do the contestants have to survive the tedious tasks, but also the venomous jibes directed towards them. Each week she interacts with the contestants and judges them on the basis of their performance of the tasks, and hands out her judgment accordingly. © Poonam Pandey In a recent episode of Lock Upp, Kangana Ranaut surprisingly chose to wax lyrical over Poonam Pandey’s performance of the task. Impressed by how the adult entertainer had pulled off the dare-task ‘art of seduction’, Ranaut revealed that she found the whole act ‘hot’, saying, “Aapka jo act tha, jo role play kiya, wo sach mein bahut hot tha” Not stopping there with her compliments, Kangana Ranaut further expressed her amazement, “Aapko ek school bhi chalana chahiye, hum log bhi usme admission le lenge, humko bhi training do.” Do you think Kangana should learn a trick or two from Poonam Pandey’s books? Let us know in the comments. View the full article
  5. After spending a few years in the industry, every actor and actress tends to start oscillating back and forth between the kind of films that they see themselves getting connected to. For Shah Rukh Khan it was romance (and sometimes comedy), for Akshay Kumar it has been patriotic films for the longest time and for actress Anushka Sharma it has been picking up films in the sports genre. © Clean Slate Filmz Whether it is her own affiliation towards sports or the influence of her cricketer husband, Virat Kohli, the actress is set to release her next film on Netflix named Chakda Xpress. Preparing to play the role of the former captain of India’s women's cricket team, Jhulan Goswami, Chakda Xpress is going to be a biopic of the former captain, helmed by Anushka Sharma, in a never seen before avatar. The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress would be returning to the screens after a break of 3 years and is ready to set the screen on fire, as a BTS video from her preparation for this role, speak for itself. View this post on Instagram Recently, Anushka shared a video on her Instagram account with a caption that read, “Get-Sweat-Go! #ChakdaXpress #prep getting hard and intense as we are counting days @netflix_in @jhulangoswami @officialcsfilms @prositroy @kans26 (sic).” In merely 3 hours, the BTS video has garnered 700 thousand likes and several hundred comments where fans are going crazy over her new look and prep. © anushka sharma With countless lovestruck emojis in the comments where people are referring to Anushka Sharma as the ‘Chakda Girl’, one user wrote in anticipation of the movie, “I can’t wait to see you in this movie”. © anushka sharma © anushka sharma Another fan commented, “Like husband like wife” as people even called her the ‘new RCB Captain’. Safe to say, fans are eager to see how Anushka Sharma dons this role of a cricketer, especially since her own husband has been a legend in the gentleman’s game. The release date of this Netflix Original hasn’t been announced yet, but it is anticipated to be released later this year. View the full article
  6. Olympic Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra who made our country proud with his impeccable performance at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, has been in the news ever since for one reason or another. Whether it is to find more about him and his talent of throwing the javelin or simply being in the know of what’s coming next after his glorious win in Tokyo, Neeraj Chopra has become a household name. © Reuters And while all that fame and fortune is good for boosting one’s ego, it might not be that great for helping one focus on their game. As is what has happened with the 24-year-old who had to fly to the United States Of America to concentrate on his training, for being in India meant being around a lot of distractions. Especially with the Shaadi season going on! Fed up with the barrage of invites he had been receiving to attend weddings in India, Neeraj Chopra finally decided to evade all the distractions in his home country to fly to the US and put his entire focus on his training. © Reuters He shared, “We, athletes, stay detached from families and friends and train for competitions for most of the time of our career. After winning the medal at the Olympics, suddenly I got to meet a lot of people. They were happy around me and showered their praises. But often it creates pressure among athletes and leads to an invisible burden of expectations, which can affect mental health and make you tired. So it is necessary to get back to what you are used to. I am again finding more solace after getting back into training." © Reuters Speaking about finding it hard to train in India, Neeraj went on to say, “The winter had set off in Haryana and wedding season was at the peak so I was being invited to many functions. I got a little bit tired there. Now I am happy that I don't have any distractions here in the USA where I can train with peace of mind." And boy, do we feel him. After all, the pressure to attend and the temptation to eat an Indian wedding is all too real (and fattening)! © Reuters He even went on to talk about how he had put on weight during his time in India as he said, “After winning the gold I thought I should take a proper break. I ate everything that was offered to me and whatever I had missed out on staying away from home. I gained at least 12 to 13 kgs in this gap. The challenge was to shed this extra weight when I started training again. I had to make much greater efforts and push myself physically. In the last 20 days, I have been able to reduce 5 kgs." "Patiala was really cold and I was getting way too many wedding invitations"- @Neeraj_chopra1 On one of the reasons why Neeraj chose to train abroad. — Andrew Amsan (@AndrewAmsan) December 30, 2021Haha... As Neeraj continues to chase the 90m mark, he is working hard to improve his game and pull himself up to the mark. Source: TOI View the full article
