  1. Producer Savita Raj Hiremath, took to Twitter yesterday to point out the apparent double standards in the treatment meted out by the government to the new releases Jhund & The Kashmir Files. Starring veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, Jhund was released on the 4th of March but has struggled to put out the numbers that had been expected of it. The post by Savita Raj Hiremath, a producer for Jhund, says that she’s perplexed why her film wasn’t made eligible for tax-free viewing, as seen in the case of The Kashmir Files. “I recently watched Kashmir files and as the story of Kashmiri Pandits exodus its heartbreaking and is a story that needed to be told. It is a good voice for Kashmiri Pandits..!! But as the producer of JHUND I am perplexed. After all Jhund is also an important film and has a story and a Big Message that has received tremendous acclaim and word of mouth from audience.” The producer of #Jhund FB post. #TheKashmirFiles pic.twitter.com/TSpetvUFh7 — Harneet Singh (@Harneetsin) March 19, 2022 Jhund a film about a Nagpur-based retired sports teacher who pioneered a slum soccer movement should have gotten rebates similar to the ones received by the Vivek Agnihotri directorial, at least that’s what Savita believes, as she continues in her post, “I want to find out what’s the criterion on which govt selects a film to support it so strongly by making tax free, endorsing it through social media and asking Offices to showcase the film or give half day holiday to its employees. After all jhund also has a subject that is so crucial to our country’s growth..jhund is not just talking about the disparity between caste and economic disparity but also shows a way to make the lower strat of society find their success story.” The Amitabh Bachchan starrer marked filmmaker Nagraj Manjule’s Hindi debut, having previously delivered critically acclaimed work with Fandry and Sairat. Despite a positive response from the audience, Jhund is struggling at the box office with it barely amounting to an estimated two-week total of Rs 17.25 crores. Do you think Jhund would have performed better if it hadn’t been for the concessions given to The Kashmir Files? Let us know in the comments! View the full article
  2. Hair matters. It matters so much that even the most popular celebrities—fully secured about their looks—routinely invest in hair care treatments. In fact, you’re only a click away from learning the names of the biggest actors who have had a hair transplant. Fabulous hair is no match for talent, of course, but it plays a key role in making you appear like you have yourself together. via GIPHY So how do you take care of your hair? Shampoo. Conditioner. Oil. But, which shampoo? Which oil? Do you still have dandruff? Do you know what type of dandruff you have? Are you sure you’re not using an anti-dandruff shampoo to treat dry scalp? These are important questions that will help you diagnose your problem first and then, solving it will be as simple as eating a piece of cake. What Is Dry Scalp? When you overwash your hair or use too many hair care products featuring harsh chemicals, you put your scalp at a high risk of being dry. It’s not a medical condition, but it can help diagnose one of the underlying ones, such as psoriasis, contact dermatitis, eczema or sunburn. The irritation caused by dry scalp will lead to itching and flaking, which are similar to dandruff. But note that dry scalp is caused by the scalp's inability to produce enough sebum and natural oils. When the scalp lacks moisture, it becomes excessively dry and leads to the shedding of dead skin. Dry Scalp Treatment: Wash with a gentle shampoo. Never skip the moisturising conditioner. Massage regularly with anti-dandruff oil. __ECOMPRODUCT__3117__ What Is Dandruff?Dandruff, on the other hand, is an inflammatory scalp condition triggered by overgrowing harmless yeast. While the dry scalp is caused by a lack of moisture, dandruff is associated with excess oil production. Four Different Types Of Dandruff 1. Dry Skin DandruffIt’s very common and mostly occurs in winter. Dry skin dandruff can be a result of hot showers. Hot water can make your scalp dry and flaky. You might experience this type of dandruff if you have dry, curly hair. Dry Dandruff Treatment: Avoid colouring. Get regular oil massages to nourish the scalp. Try an anti-dandruff leave-in lotion (massage it into your scalp, leave in overnight. Use a moisturising shampoo for your hair in the morning). __ECOMPRODUCT__3118__ 2. Oil-Related DandruffOil-related dandruff happens when sebum oil accumulates on the scalp. This oil can cause clumps of dead skin cells and dirt forming itchy flakes. High levels of stress and anxiety can increase sebum oil secretion leading to the condition. Oil Dandruff Treatment: Consult your doctor for medication and shampoo that can clean excess sebum oil off the scalp. __ECOMPRODUCT__2968__ 3. Fungus-Related DandruffMalassezia, a yeast found on the skin and scalp, contributes to the inflammatory response in seborrhea, resulting in redness and the production of white flakes. This yeast thrives in oily areas and feeds on sebum. Fungal Dandruff Treatment: Use a good anti-fungal shampoo to get rid of this condition, preferably suggested by a dermatologist. __ECOMPRODUCT__3119__ 4. Disease-Related DandruffSkin conditions like psoriasis, eczema can lead to scaly skin on the scalp as they stimulate the production of skin cells. When these skin cells come in contact with dirt and sebum oil, it causes dandruff. Seborrheic dermatitis is another, more serious condition that leads to severe sores, redness and itchy scalp. You might notice it on your neck or back of the head. Disease-Related Dandruff Treatment: Consult a doctor for proper medication. __ECOMPRODUCT__3120__ Now that you know the difference between dry scalp and different types of dandruff, pick your potion wisely. Taking to the micro-blogging site, the Punjab off-spinner said that cricket gave him everything in life and thanked everyone who was a part of his incredible 23-year-long journey. Who can forget when he became the first Indian bowler to pick up a Test hat-trick in that famous Kolkata Test at the iconic Eden Gardens that helped the side clinch a memorable win in 2001. He finished his international career with over 700 wickets (417 Tests, 269 ODIs and 25 T20Is). He couldn’t finish his career the way he wanted to but looking back, I don’t think he wouldn’t have any regrets. View the full article
  5. Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar keeps finding ways to make the headlines. Sometimes he hogs the attention through his comments and sometimes through his actions. © Reuters The latest controversy that the Rawalpindi Express has found himself embroiled in occurred on live television, in front of legends of the game like Viv Richards, David Gower, among others. Akhtar was present as a part of the expert panel to reflect on the Pakistan vs New Zealand match which the former won by five wickets. However, the discussion turned into quite a mess as the former Pak pacer walked out of the show while blaming the anchor for insulting him. Dr Nauman Niaz vs Shoaib Akhtar . . Who was at fault here? pic.twitter.com/fineugxrQF — Mansoor Ali Khan (@_Mansoor_Ali) October 26, 2021 The video of this incident has gone viral on social media which shows the broadcaster telling Akhtar that he was acting “oversmart” and if he wanted to misbehave like that he could very well leave. “You're being a little rude and I don't want to say this, but if you're being over smart, you can go. I am saying this on air,” the host said. © AP Sensing the things getting out of control, the anchor announced for a commercial break but it didn't calm things down between the two. After the break, it boiled down to a whole new level. Akhtar asked the anchor to apologise to him but he refused and the former cricketer removed his mic and announced his resignation from the channel. © Reuters “My apologies for this but I am resigning immediately from PTV sports as I have been insulted and treated badly on live television in front of the nation,” he said. Explaining the rationale as to why he took such an extreme step, Akhtar put out a couple of tweets, wherein he blamed the host for insulting a “national star” like him in front of the whole nation. Multiple clips are circulating on social media so I thought I shud clarify.dr noman was abnoxious and rude wen he asked me to leave the show,it was embarrassing specially wen u have legends like sir Vivian Richards and David gower sitting on the set with some of my contemporaries — Shoaib Akhtar (@shoaib100mph) October 26, 2021and seniors and millions watching. Then I had no other choice,” he added. It all began when the presenter asked Akhtar his opinion on whether Pakistani batters made the mess of the small run chase. The pacer disagreed with him and instead of answering the question started praising Haris Rauf for his Man of the Match performance. While the Babar Azam-led side is doing everything to change a narrative about the Pakistan cricket team, the off-field incidents in the last couple of days have somewhat jeopardised all their hard work and left the whole country embarrassed. Whether it is cheeks, foreheads or jawlines, mapping where you get acne can make a difference. Basically, acne on different parts of your face means different things and if you trace back the cause of it, you can treat it the right way. © iStock If you are clueless about why you get acne on one part of your face more than other, here is everything you need to know. Acne on specific spots on your face tells you about your health and lifestyle habits. While stress, excess oil and poor diet could all end up in acne, you need to know where you are going wrong so you can get rid of them. Here are the most common breakout locations and their causes and how to fix them: © iStock 1. HairlineThis is the part on your face that comes in close contact with the hair products like hair oil and styling products. These products can clog the pores and induce acne. Also, men who tend to sweat on the temples or have dandruff are prone to hairline acne. To treat it, wash your face regularly to get rid of the sweat, oil and dandruff flakes and use your hair products carefully to avoid getting it on the skin. © iStock 2. CheeksIf you are getting acne on your cheeks, it is a sign of poor hygiene, bacteria from pillows and stress. Also, environmental aggressors could also play a part in inducing acne on your cheeks. Exfoliate your face to get the dirt and dust off and change your sheets and pillow covers regularly. Maintain good hygiene and keep yourself clean to keep it in check. © iStock 3. JawlineAcne on your chin and jawline have been associated with hormones in your body. Increased levels of testosterone could lead to aggravated breakouts on your chin. Acne in this area is also often caused by ingrown hair. Use products with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Men who have a beard should make sure they steer clear of excess beard oil and use of a dirty comb. © iStock 4. T-zone Your nose, forehead and space between the eyebrows is your T-zone and it is the most common area that becomes a zit city for most people. The reason is that this zone produces excess sebum, especially in extreme weather. Use a face wash twice daily to get rid of excess oil.
