Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal’s startling revelation about his near-death experience after being dangled from the 15th floor balcony by one of his drunk teammates has stunned the whole cricket community, especially here in India. Chahal, who currently plies his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, shared a spine-chilling story from his time at Mumbai Indians. This shocking incident took place during the IPL 2013 when a young Chahal was part of the Mumbai Indians squad. View this post on Instagram The young leggie, who was only 22 at the time, was bullied by one of his drunk teammates and it nearly cost him his life. The wrist-spinner shared this story in a video posted on RR’s official Twitter handle but didn’t reveal the name of the player who did that to him. Since the video has come out, people have been showcasing their sympathy with the spinner and at the same time are also urging him to reveal the name of that cricketer who gave him this trauma. View this post on Instagram Not just that, the fans are also asking questions of the Mumbai Indians management about what actions they took against that player who endangered the life of a young teammate in an inebriated state. Like many of us, former India opener Virender Sehwag was also taken aback by the 31-year-old’s shocking revelation and he took to the micro-blogging urging the Haryana leggie to reveal the name of the culprit. © Instagram/Virender Sehwag Sehwag even questioned Mumbai Indians saying it “can’t be treated as fun” and questioned them what action they took against that drunk cricketer. © Twitter/Virender Sehwag “Important to reveal name of player who as per Chahal did this to him in a drunk state. If true, this cannot be treated as fun, important to know what happened and what action was taken considering the seriousness of this,” Sehwag wrote in his tweet which has now been deleted. When Sehwag’s tweet came out, the fans started praising him for standing up for a fellow cricketer and demanding justice for him. However, after he deleted his tweet this praise has turned into a backlash. What Yuzi told was scary to the core. Amit Mishra, veteran India leg-spinner, went unsold at the Indian Premier League (IPL) mega auction. Despite being the third-highest wicket-taker in the cash-rich league, Mishra failed to attract any bids. The 39-year-old bowler played just four matches last year before an injury forced him out of action. After going unsold, the leg-spinner has been quite active on social media. In one of his recent tweets, Mishra boasted about dismissing his 'good friend' seven times in the IPL. The self-praising tweet came after Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga sent Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson packing for the fourth time in their fifth meeting. Samson fell to Hasaranga for fourth time in overall five innings. Do you know whom I have dismissed the most number of times? My good friend Rohit Sharma (7 times).. a very good human being. #RCBvsRR #IPL2022 — Amit Mishra (@MishiAmit) April 5, 2022 "Samson fell to Hasaranga for fourth time in overall five innings. Do you know whom I have dismissed the most number of times? My good friend Rohit Sharma (7 times).. a very good human being. #RCBvsRR #IPL2022," Mishra tweeted. With that wicket in 2021, Mishra had equalled the record of dismissing a batter the most number of times in IPL. Before him, Zaheer Khan and Sandeep Sharma had dismissed MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli seven times respectively. View this post on InstagramAfter going unsold ahead of the auction, Mishra had put out a tweet for his former franchise -- Delhi Capitals. The veteran spinner had said that he is not finished and still has a lot to offer. Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. I am truly humbled! But, I am not finished yet and can easily add to the legacy of @DelhiCapitals…only if DC needs me! I am always in their corner. #ibleedDC https://t.co/kQuiiKaHKy — Amit Mishra (@MishiAmit) February 13, 2022 "Thanks @ParthJindal11 for the kind words & your acknowledgment of my services for the team. While Mishra holds the record for most hat-tricks taken in the IPL and has 166 wickets next to his name in the franchise-based tournament, his fitness became a major concern. He played just seven games in the last two seasons and that might have forced Delhi to look beyond one of their most successful bowlers in the tournament's history. View the full article

Noted Industrialist Anand Mahindra on Thursday expressed interest in setting up a new medical studies institution on the campus of Mahindra University and requested CP Gurnani, Tech Mahindra MD and CEO to help implement his vision. I had no idea that there was such a shortfall of medical colleges in India. @C_P_Gurnani could we explore the idea of establishing a medical studies institution on the campus of @MahindraUni ? https://t.co/kxnZ0LrYXV — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) March 3, 2022 Taking to the micro-blogging site, Mr Mahindra had tweeted, "I had no idea that there was such a shortfall of medical colleges in India. CP Gurnani, could we explore the idea of establishing a medical studies institution on the campus of Mahindra University?" Anand Mahindra is an ardent Twitter user, taking time from his hectic schedules to interact with the 8.9 million followers he’s amassed. And he’s popular on the site for responding to real-life events and sharing his opinions on the same. © Anand Mahindra His tweet was directed as a response to a TOI story that showed the top destinations abroad for Indian students studying medicine with data sourced from the Ministry of External Affairs. China topped the list with 23,000 Indian medical students already studying there, closely followed by the presently warring nations, Ukraine and Russia, at 18,000 and 15,500 respectively. While Anand Mahindra’s idea was met with widespread support and glee among Twitter users, they also gave him a reality check on the unnecessarily high tuition fees that currently plague most private medical colleges in India. A Twitter user while agreeing with Anand Mahindra reminded him of the exorbitant fees that presently exist, saying, “Yes good idea but shouldn't keep fees like crores what other institutions do”. To which the Industrialist succinctly replied, “Noted”. Noted. https://t.co/HQilTVJbe9 — anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) March 3, 2022 Another user replied to Anand Mahindra’s original tweet, commenting, “If you do please try to keep the fees nominal. These students go abroad not just due to lack of seats but the enormous cost.” If you do please try to keep the fees nominal. These students go abroad not just due to lack of seats but the enormous cost. — Agamoni Ghosh (@agamoni) March 3, 2022 This particular Twitter user called it a great business idea, claiming most medical colleges to be run by politicians, he said, “Good idea. It’s a good business sir!! Most of private medical colleges are run by politicians only. 70-80lakhs rupee for printing a degree. Very cost effective.” Good idea. It’s a good business sir!! Most of private medical colleges are run by politicians only. 70-80lakhs rupee for printing a degree. Very cost effective. — Dr. Poonia (MD,DM) (@dramipoonia) March 3, 2022 “It will be more appreciated if you keep the fees of your medical college in line of these abroad countries or lower than that because many private player have colleges but they charge 1-1.25 cr for 5.5 year course”, said another commenter. It will be more appreciated if you keep the fees of your medical college in line of these abroad countries or lower than that because many private player have colleges but they charge 1-1.25 cr for 5.5 year course — Eklabaya kumar (@eklabaya) March 3, 2022 Another reason why Indian medical students opt to pursue their education abroad is due to the lack of availability of seats in Indian medical colleges. According to the National Medical Commission, there were only 605 medical colleges offering a total of 90,825 MBBS seats a year to almost 1.6 million students that took the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for MBBS admissions in 2021. Thus leaving a majority of the Indian medical students with no other option but to look abroad to countries like China, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Armenia, and others, for affordable education. The ongoing debate over the state of Medical Education in India comes in the wake of the Russian-Ukraine conflict, in which an Indian Medical student in Ukraine was killed during an airstrike. His father then spoke to the media and lashed out against the system which seems to prefer money over talent. “Despite scoring 97% in PUC, my son could not secure a medical seat in State. To get a medical seat one has to give crores of rupees and students are getting the same education abroad spending less money," shared the grief-stricken father of Naveen, who was killed while he was out to get food from a nearby grocery store. What do you think about Anand Mahindra’s idea? Do you think it will go some way in helping the Indian medical fraternity? Do let us know in the comments below. View the full article

On Saturday, Team India and Mumbai Indians pacer Jasprit Bumrah sent out a cryptic message that left fans perplexed on social media. India are set to take on the West Indies in the second ODI in Ahmedabad on Wednesday with an eye on securing the three-match series after taking a 1-0 lead on Sunday. India had outclassed the West Indies by six wickets in the series opener thanks to exceptional performances from Yuzvendra Chahal and Rohit Sharma. Chahal picked up four wickets for 49 and was the pick of the bowlers at the Narendra Modi Stadium where the pitch assisted spinners. India had opted to go with Washington Sundar as the second spin bowler in the playing XI and he too did well with the ball, picking up three wickets for 30 runs. The president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Sourav Ganguly has found himself once again in troubled waters after he was blamed for ‘forcefully’ attending selection committee meetings when his role at the board has no say in who plays in the Indian squad and who doesn’t. Over the last few days, Ganguly has been trying to discredit all these allegations and wishing to portray himself as never being a part of the selection committee meetings. However, an old post from the official Twitter handle of the Indian cricket board has removed all doubts about whether or not Ganguly was present in such meetings. All smiles at the Senior Selection Committee meeting earlier this afternoon as the teams for the forthcoming T20I & Test series against Bangladesh were announced #TeamIndia pic.twitter.com/BxA1S6Hc0Z — BCCI (@BCCI) October 24, 2019 In 2019, BCCI shared a picture from one such selection committee meeting with both Sourav Ganguly and BCCI secretary Jay Shah sitting in the centre of the room with the then-captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma sitting next to them. And in order to remove any and every doubt about whether or not the picture was taken during a selection committee meeting, all one needs to do is read the caption of the post which clearly states that it was a “Senior Selection Committee meeting” for the T20I and Test series that took place in November 2019. View this post on Instagram This isn’t the first time in the last couple of months that Ganguly has been caught trying to hide the truth during his tenure as the BCCI president. In December before Team India left for the South Africa tour, Kohli made a controversial statement about how nobody in the BCCI was against his willingness to step down as the T20I captain after the T20 World Cup 2021. Kohli’s statement came just days after Ganguly had addressed multiple media outlets and categorically said that he had asked Kohli to reconsider his decision and wanted him to continue as the leader of the squad in the shortest format of the game. Ever since the picture has gone viral, the fans of the Indian cricket team have hopped onto the post time and again talking about how Ganguly has been caught lying red-handed and may be influencing the selection committee ever since getting appointed as the president of the biggest cricket board of the world. Ever since Virat Kohli stepped down as captain yesterday, the whole country has been in shock. While fans are heartbroken and channeling their frustration towards 'the ones responsible', social media has been abuzz with facets of the incredible journey he's had so far. View this post on Instagram While throwbacks have been trending all across Twitter and Instagram, not all of them have been pleasant, and whichever ones aren't, fans are leaving no stone unturned to express their displeasure towards them. One of those instances features eminent journalist Mr Ravish Kumar, who reportedly suddenly deleted an old tweet that he had posted several years ago. via GIPHY While we could not spot the tweet on Twitter (obviously it's now been deleted), there were people who were quicker, and took a screenshot. Siddharth Booked By Hyderabad Police Over Sexist Tweet Against Saina Nehwal
ADMIN posted a blog entry in FDF Online News
The cybercrime wing of Hyderabad Police has registered a case against actor Siddharth after a woman filed a complaint over his recent remarks on Saina Nehwal. A senior police official reportedly informed PTI that based on the complaint a case has been registered against the actor under IPC Section 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of women) and under other relevant sections of the Information Technology Act. It all started when Saina Nehwal shared her thoughts about the security breach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Punjab. She wrote, "No Nation can claim itself to be safe if the security of its own PM gets compromised. I condemn, in the strongest words possible, the cowardly attack on PM Modi by anarchists.” View this post on Instagram She was attacked by Siddharth and his tweet was bashed by people for its sexist nature. Siddharth quoted Saina's tweet and wrote, "Subtle cock champion of the world... Thank God we have protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna.” People bashed him for disrespecting Saina who has got so many medals for the country. Sauna’s husband and father also condemned Siddharth’s tweet and demanded for an apology. View this post on Instagram After receiving hate for his tweet, Siddharth has apologized to Saina. In an apology letter posted on Twitter, Siddharth wrote,"Dear Saina, I want to apologize to you for my rude joke that I wrote as a response to a tweet of yours a few days ago. I may disagree with you on many things, but even my disappointment or anger when I read your tweet, cannot justify my tone and words. I know I have more grace in me than that. As for the jokeif a joke needs to be explained, then it wasn’t a very good joke to begin with. Sorry about a joke that didn’t land." "I, however, must insist my word play and humor had none of the malicious intent that so many people from all quarters have attributed to it. I am a staunch feminist ally and I assure there was no gender implied in my tweet and certainly no intent to attack you as a woman. I hope we can put this behind us and that you will accept my letter. You will always be my Champion. Honestly, Siddharth,” it added. Dear @NSaina pic.twitter.com/plkqxVKVxY — Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) January 11, 2022 Saina has finally responded to Siddharth’s apology by saying that the matter is ‘about women’ and she is not bothered anymore about it. “He only said it and he is now apologizing. I was surprised to see myself trending on Twitter that day. I haven’t spoken to him but I am happy that he apologized,” she said on the sidelines of the ongoing India Open. “See, it is about women, he shouldn’t target a woman like that but it’s okay, I am not bothered about it, I am happy in my space and god bless him,” she added. South actor Siddharth, who is also known for his performance in Aamir Khan's 2006 hit Rang De Basanti, has been receiving backlash on social media ever since he posted an alleged ‘sexist’ tweet targeting ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. However, he has now issued a public apology for his "rude joke" in response to Nehwal's tweet condemning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's security breach in Punjab. View this post on Instagram In the apology posted on Twitter, the actor has cleared that his intention was not malicious and the controversial tweet was just his "word play and humour". Siddharth's apology letter reads, "Dear Saina, I want to apologise to you for my rude joke that I wrote as a response to a tweet of yours, a few days ago. I may disagree with you on many things but even my disappointment or anger when I read your tweet, cannot justify my tone and words. I know I have more grace in me than that. As for the joke... Check out his post here: Dear @NSaina pic.twitter.com/plkqxVKVxY — Siddharth (@Actor_Siddharth) January 11, 2022 The Bommarillu star’s apology has been receiving mixed reactions from netizens. While a section of social media users appreciated Siddharth for his public apology, others expressed that it is just a "cover up". Reacting to the actor's post, a user wrote, "Atleast show some courage in accepting the wrong doing. This looks more like a cover up than an apology. An apology should be unconditional. Do you really think you can act smart even now ? Period". Another wrote, "This does not look like a genuine apology. You are still adamant to admit that it was a sexist comment targetting women. Just because it has double meanings it does not become correct. Face the legal consequences". "I respect you for this. It takes a lot of courage and maturity to be able to apologize," reads another tweet. Here are a few reactions: Atleast show some courage in accepting the wrong doing. Like what more do you want from a person. Don't turn this into a bigger mess it is. — simarpreet singh basra (@BasraSimarpreet) January 11, 2022 I respect you for this. The National Commission for Women (NCW) too slammed the actor and issued a notice to Twitter India demanding a ban on his account. View the full article
