  1. There's nothing better than finding a sharp comeback or quoting something wise when your back is against the wall. Words can indeed be mightier than a sword. Following are some of the most awesome comebacks from famous movies or TV series which you can use on one occasion or the other: 1. When You Tell A Joke And Your Friend Doesn't Laugh: “I'll explain and I'll use small words so that you'll be sure to understand.” —The Princess Bride 2. When Your Crush Asks You If She Should Laugh At Your Silly Joke: “Go ahead, make my day.” – Sudden Impact 5. When Someone Roasts You Badly In A Group: “You talking to me?” – Taxi Driver 6. 2. Salman Khan's much awaited Eid mega-release 'Bharat' is here, and as expected, everyone attended the premiere. As impressed as we were with most outfits, one particular outfit made us take a closer look. We are talking about the debonair stylemaster Jackie Shroff, who even at 62, doesn't hesitate to experiment with unusual elements.1 (c) Viral Bhayani The first thing we noticed about Jaggu Dada's outfit of course is the fact that it looked very similar to what Salman Khan himself wore - an all black ensemble (sort of, with very dark jeans that had about a dozen of zippers). (c) Viral Bhayani As dapper as both of them looked in their cowboy-ish retro fare, Mr Shroff stood out because of a very strange accessory. He wore as a brooch, what looked like a carrot (or is it a turnip?) Well it's not an 'actual' vegetable, but a rather convincing specimen. What is it doing on his chest? What does it mean? Does it have a secret message? Is it a symbol for something? We have so many questions! (c) Viral Bhayani (c) Viral Bhayani We'll just make peace with the assumption that he's just using it as an unusual accessory. Now, we are all for unusual accessories, but this is one piece that stands out simply because how playfully weird it is, and even though it seemingly doesn't belong right there with the outfit, Jackie Shroff is making it work effortlessly. Talk about outstyling Bhai, that too on Eid.
  3. A few years ago, if we'd have told you that circus animals would be replaced with holograms, you'd have laughed at our faces. But what if we told you that now it's a reality and the Circus Roncalli in Germany actually replaced real animals with holograms to entertain people? Yes, it's just as awesome as it sounds. Here, check it out - Replacing real animals with holograms is a great idea because it's important that we treat animals fairly and fight against animal cruelty. The Circus Roncalli in Germany was set up in 1976 and it's quite awesome to see such an old circus trying to be a pioneer in the fight against animal abuse. So, the circus uses holograms to add animals to their performances with the help of eleven projectors set up across the venue. They have performing animals such as elephants, horses, monkeys, and even fish. They do look very realistic, don't they? © YouTube It's also worth pointing out that the circus made history by becoming the first to replace real animals with holograms. Not only are they putting across a great message to stop animals cruelty, but the circus authorities are also saving a lot of money in the process, since they don't really have animals to feed or transport. Obviously, not everyone will enjoy this, but it's indeed a creative way to showcase what technology can achieve and how it can benefit mankind. Now, let's hope this act will serve as an inspiration to others and we get to see more creative ways of delivering good entertainment.
  4. The world of 'Avengers' might have come to an end for now but the craze and the madness surrounding the franchise is still going strong. So, when the witty people at Bored Panda decided to use the 'gender swap' filter on the faces of our favourite Marvel heroes, we couldn't help but feel like we need to share the laughter with you guys. Starting from Tom Hiddleston, needless to say, those cheekbones are higher than our office building! © Bored Panda Chris Hemsworth is someone who blew us away with that gorgeousness which can compete with Aishwarya Rai, actually. © Bored Panda Move over Spider-Man Tom Holland, if this was him in real life, we'd love this Spider-Woman more! © Bored Panda Chris Evans aka Captain America can also win 'Miss America' with that face. © Bored Panda Wow Robert Downey Jr is that your twin sister we didn't know about? © Bored Panda Mark Ruffalo's gender swap version looks like the Hulk-ess we deserve. © Bored Panda Dr. Strange is not strange at all with that new female face. © Bored Panda Hugh Jackman actually looks like the aunt we all have. © Bored Panda If this is how Thanos would look like, people would love to be disintegrated by that pretty face. © Bored Panda In case you're wondering what app is this, you can also try the gender swap filter on the Snapchat app and enjoy the funny result when you see yourself!
  5. Snapchat is back in the news guys, and this time, it's because of a new filter that's quite hilarious. It's the new Gender Changing filter that can make you look like a girl or a boy. Even if you don't actively use Snapchat anymore, you should still check it out. It works surprisingly good. But that's not the main story you're here for, is it? Well, a guy decided to take it to a whole new level by setting up a Tinder account for a female version of himself which he created using the filter. Yes, it sounds like a dumb idea, but it 'she' ended up getting a ton of likes and matches. © Twitter Jake Askew said he decided to set up the account because it looked 'unreal' to him. But little did he know that a lot of folks on Tinder would agree. He apparently got over 1,650 likes on his profile, and he ended up matching with 200-400 of them. WHAT?? As you can see, he set up the account by the name of 'Jess', and marked her as a student at the University of Derby. He noted that a lot of guys approached 'Jess' with rather indecent proposals. © Pexels He ended up sharing this whole fiasco on Twitter, and the tweet has since been liked by more than 6,000 people. This Snapchat filter is clearly trending right now! Go, give it a try if you haven't already.
  6. I am sure my school wasn't the only one that had the ritual of morning assemblies. You might like it or hate it, but I don't think you can forget those days easily. Keeping your bags in the classroom and then gathering in the school courtyard, early in the morning. It was a ritual that each kid religiously followed. Every morning, the assembly would begin with our Principal's speech and end with everyone singing the National Anthem. Back then, most of us would get away with only lip sync, and some would only hum while the rest of the crowd sang it dedicatedly. Twitter This video of the kid from Arunachal Pradesh trying his level best to sing the National Anthem reminds us of how we were as kids. From mixing up a few words to forgetting some lines, but still continuing with whatever he knows; this kid's innocent attempt at singing 'Jana Gana Mana' has brought a smile on everyone's face. He puts his heart and soul into singing the National Anthem and his infectious smile at the video says it all. 7. Almost all the Apple Products come with one year warranty against manufacturing defects and hardware failures. If you send in your defected device that's under warranty, then Apple will repair it, or in same cases, even replace it with a new one. Yes, the company is known to be very generous at that. However, two Chinese students attending college in Oregon have scammed Apple by taking advantage of the company's repair policy. So, the con was very simple. Yangyang Zhou and Quan Jiang, two engineering students allegedly brought in thousand of fake iPhones, sent them to Apple filing warranty complaints and got band new 'genuine' iPhones in return. The new iPhones were then sent back to their friends and relatives in China to flip for profit. © Pexels Yup, Apple, out of all the companies, fell for this con. But hey, you can't blame the company for being nice with replacement phones, plus these counterfeit iPhones have come to closely resemble the real thing, right? According to the prosecutors, the duo submitted a total of 3,069 iPhones under warranty claims, and got back close to 1,500 new iPhones as replacement units. With a loss of $600 per iPhone, Apple calculates that it lost close to $900,000, which roughly translates to about Rs 6.25 crores. The rest of the iPhones, in case you're wondering, were rejected for tampering, and they were sent back with letters explaining why the warranty claims were declined. The federal prosecutors have charged Jiang with trafficking counterfeit goods and wire fraud. Zhou, on the other hand, was accused of submitting false information on export documentation. The agents got tipped of this fraud in April 2017 when they opened five suspicious packages enroute from Hong Kong containing phones with counterfeit marking. In their defense, both students have claimed that they didn't know the phones were counterfeits. But, c'mon, no one's going to buy that.
  8. A couple of days ago, the cricket fraternity found itself split into two when Kings XI Punjab's captain Ravichandran Ashwin 'mankaded' Rajasthan Royals (RR) hitter Jos Buttler in an exciting matchup during the first week of the twelfth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). For the better half of RR's batting, it felt as if Jos Buttler was single handedly going to win the team's first match of the season as Punjab bowlers grew restless. Finally, in the 13th over, Ashwin did something cricketers from all around the world frown upon. Halfway into his bowling action, he stopped and hit the stumps at the non-striker's end to appeal for a run-out as Buttler was a step outside of the crease. Cricketing fans from all over the world had some strong opinions about the incident. People like Dale Steyn and Eoin Morgan were absolutely livid with Ashwin's actions, calling him out in public for his lack of sportsmanship, and of setting a bad example for the future generation of talented cricketers India will be producing in the coming years. He ain't winning any spirit of cricket awards is old ashwin — Dale Steyn (@DaleSteyn62) March 25, 2019 On the other hand people came of Ashwin's rescue saying that whatever he did was not illegal and was well within the ICC rules of cricket and therefore should not be bashed so much. Former Test opener for the Indian side, Aakash Chopra even promoted the idea of more and more bowlers mankading after the match between Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday. Missed Opportunity....more bowlers need to start running batsmen out at the non-striker's end. It's a 22-yard pitch...don't let them make it 20 yards. #Unfair pic.twitter.com/qeGBDocU8G — Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) March 27, 2019 The issue snowballed into something so dramatic that legends of the game like Shane Warne and Harsha Bhogle indulged in an ugly Twitter battle as well. Believe it or not but this isn't the first time Ashwin has 'mankaded' someone. Back in 2012 in an ODI match against Sri Lanka, Ashwin did the same to Lahiru Thirimanne. However, back then the leadership of the roster was in the hands of legends like Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar, who overruled Ashwin's appeal when asked by the umpires and asked the Sri Lankan batsman to return to the crease. Such was the class with which the Men in Blue used to play the game. Players like Tendulkar, Sehwag and even MS Dhoni for that matter have grown as elite cricketers and respectful athletes who have the heart of a champion, sure, but did not settle to sell their morals in order to win a game. The 'win at all costs' notion that has plagued sports in recent years has completely gone against the very ideals of sports. Discipline, honour, mutual respect, everything goes out of the window as soon as the greed of getting that extra number in the points table takes over. What Ashwin did was well within the rules as Harsha Bhogle's gone on and on about in the past three days but would players like Tendulkar and Sehwag do something like this, or better yet, be proud of it? We think not.
  9. Will the real Melania Trump please stand up? No actually, for real. Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory and this one involving the US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump is a little too weird. In short, people online are convinced that Donald Trump brought along a body-double for his wife Melania and the woman in the picture is not actually FLOTUS. Yep, instead of people tweeting about #FakeNews and Donald Trump, the new big thing is #FakeMelania. While all these wild conspiracy theories are almost always bullshit, the proof for this one is right here and it's honestly a little convincing. Both of them recently visited communities in Eastern Alabama to pay their condolences after recent tornadoes hit the area claiming the lives of 23 people. This picture of them basically restarted the entire theory which first surfaced two years ago. 10. Arguably one of the highly-rated young talent in the country, KL Rahul climbed up the ladder in Indian cricket on the basis of consistent performances. Making full use of the opportunities, his breakthrough 2013-14 season laid the foundation of Karnataka's Ranji Trophy triumph, proving his credentials as a first-class cricketer. Then, a profitable 2016 IPL season saw him earning his cap for the national team. His appetite for runs further gave India an opportunity to boast of an extra option at the top of the order. But, as all good things come to an end, Rahul hit a lean patch that saw him getting dropped from the side. And, just when things couldn't get any worse for him, the Karnataka cricketer found himself in the middle of a controversy following his appearance on popular chat show 'Koffee With Karan' alongside teammate Hardik Pandya. And, what followed later had a great impact on the young cricketer. Slammed by a billion fans and suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rahul endured the worst possible nightmare a cricketer can be exposed to. But, rather than letting the incident affect his mindset, Rahul used it as an opportunity to channelise his frustration into fruitful results. © AP "It has been a hard time, no doubt. As a player, as a person, everyone has to go through difficult times and it was my time to go through that. It gave me the time to reflect on my game, on myself. I have always been somebody who takes things as it comes and I am just happy to be back here now," Rahul told the International Cricket Council (ICC). Before his suspension, Rahul was subject to immense criticism following his below-average performances in Australia. His frailties, especially against incoming deliveries which first appeared on the England tour, were exposed and exploited by the Australian seamers. And, the result was quite obvious for the right-hander. Using the suspension for his own good, the right-handed batsman bolstered the chinks in his armour through hard work in the nets and by spending time with Rahul Dravid. Given an opportunity to regain his form, the 26-year-old was roped in for India A's home series against England Lions that brought a more focussed and responsible Rahul to the fore. Leading from the front, Rahul scored 81 runs in India A's first innings. The right-hander stitched a 178-run stand with fellow opener and centurion Abhimanyu Easwaran to box the visitors out of the contest in Mysore. Apart from that, the elegant batsman also scored 89 runs in the first unofficial Test in Wayanad. © AP "I got some time off from international cricket, so I could come back to India and reflect on what was not going right for me. Fortunately, I got to play some India A games where the pressure is a bit less and where I could focus on my skill and my technique. Got to spend a lot of time with Rahul Dravid, working on my game and chatting about cricket. He helped a lot in the five games I played for India A. The time I have spent in the middle has helped," Rahul said. Showing signs of improvement, Rahul was then called back into the national side for Australia's tour of India - a moment that he had been patiently waiting for to right his wrongs. The first T20I saw a rampant Rahul hammering his way to a 36-ball 50 in a match where the popular batsmen failed to deliver. Continuing his fine form, the Indian opener began his innings in the second T20I in the same 'slambang' manner before getting dismissed for a 26-ball 47 that was decorated with four sixes. While India lost both the matches and eventually the T20I series, it was great to see Rahul return to form and emerging as the second-highest run-getter. © AP "It's nice to be back with the boys and be back in blue. Just happy that I have tasted a bit of success in the last two games and my batting has come out pretty well," he said. But, individual success means nothing to this dashing batsman as he expressed his disappointment after failing to guide his team to victory. "But the other side is that I could have carried on in both innings, got a big score and won the game for my team. I'll take the two knocks but there is a lot that I have learnt from the two knocks and I want to improve," Rahul concluded. For a man who became 'Public Enemy No 1' and was left to fend for himself in abyss following his controversy and, thereon, suspension, Rahul's grit and perseverance as a cricketer has undeniably allowed him to win back the fans and impress the Indian selectors with his renewed form. Going into the five-match ODI series, Rahul would be eager to carry his blistering form to help India peg back the Aussies and bolster his chances of securing a spot in Virat Kohli-led side's playing XI for the ICC World Cup in England & Wales.
  11. Twelve days after the deadly Pulwama terror attack shook the nation and killed over 40 CRPF jawans, the IAF (Indian Air Force) today breached the LoC (Line of Control) and struck JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) terror camps in Balakot. This is the first time in almost two decades that IAF's jets crossed the border and fired in aggression. The fighter jets ambushed the terror camps with 1,000 kg laser-guided bombs. The strike was carried out around 3:30 AM by 12 Mirage 2000 fighter jets. IAF operates multiple fighter jets like the Sukhoi 30MKI, MiG 29UPG, SEPECAT Jaguar, and HAL Tejas. But, the Mirage 2000 has been a trusted jet since the 1999 Kargil Conflict, the last time it fired weapons in aggression. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Mirage 2000 is built by French company Dassault Aviation - the makers of the controversial Rafale jets. The IAF calls the jet "Vajra", meaning thunderbolt for its precision aiming and intercepting abilities. The Jets were first commissioned in 1985 and it was in response to Pakistan Air Force's acquisition of the American F-16 fighter. © WikiMedia Initially, 36 single-seater aircraft and four twin-seater were ordered, but after its remarkably successful performance in Kargil, the government ordered 10 more. The jet is technically classified as a multi-role aircraft, meaning it can carry out air-to-ground bombings, air-to-air superiority combat, interception, as well as reconnaissance. © Wikimedia / SRA Greg L. Davis Even though it seems like an old aircraft on paper, India has upgraded the jet's avionics to the latest standard (Mirage 2000I) and it is classified as a fourth generation fighter. Powering the fighter is a single SNECMA M53 turbofan that generates up to 95kN of thrust in afterburner stage. The engine has a single shaft modular design which helps in reducing the weight and in turn increases manoeuvrability. It can fly at a maximum speed of Mach 2.2 or 2,330kmph. © Safran It has a built-in DEFA 554 autocannon and can fire up to 1,800 rounds per minute. Five hardpoints (location where missiles and bombs are attached) are located on the fuselage and two on each wing. For today's strike, GBU-12 Laser Guided bombs were used and R.550 missile was loaded to counter any possible threat from Pakistan's air force. © WikiMedia / SSgt. Glenn B. Lindsey This is the same jet that was also landed on Yamuna Expressway near Mathura in 2015. For today's attack, reports suggest that Sukhoi 30MKI were also kept on standby to assist the Mirage 2000 in case of retaliation from Pakistan Air Force. At the same time, the attack was also backed by an EMB-145 AEW&CS "Netra" aircraft from Agra to look out for aerial targets and provide better radar coverage.
  12. It's been a while since I've used a beautiful windows laptop and I got the opportunity to test out HP's latest x360 Convertible laptop. The laptop is a combination of productivity and good looks that cannot be matched by any other laptop right now. When you use the laptop in public, it sure is a head turner. However, the laptop is not only about the looks as it performs well in carrying out tasks, editing images and can even double up as a tablet. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla This versatility makes this one of the best Windows laptops I've ever used. Bear in mind that this laptop is not meant for gaming and is more for daily use such as video consumption, editing images/videos and listening to music. Let's find out how the laptop fared during the course of our review: Design © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla To call this laptop beautiful is an understatement. It looks more stylish than its previous model and the entire chassis is made of aluminium. HP calls it the 'gem cut' as it has angled edges which represents a diamond. The 'Dark Ash Grey' variant looks absolutely stunning with a gold rose finish that gives the laptop a modern look. The design itself also incorporates functionality as you can use it various positions i.e. as a laptop, a tablet, as a tent or in reverse mode. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The laptop is 14mm thin and weighs only 1.31 kg. It's comfortable to carry in your bag and adds to the factor of portability. The power button is also discreetly hidden in the left angled corner with blends in with the overall design of the laptop. The other angled corner houses a USB-C port which can be used for charging and doesn't get in the way of other ports. As the HP x360 has a brand new chassis, it has more room for extra ports such as a slot for microSD, a USB 3 Type A, and extra USB-C port and and audio jack. Display © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Spectre x360 comes with 13.3-inch UHD WLED IPS panel and is perfect for watching 4K content. The colour representation is accurate and the viewing angles are also up the mark. This laptop also comes with HP Sure View which basically blocks your display from prying eyes. You need to be directly in front of the laptop to see the content which is a handy feature to have in a busy environment. Having said that, the display is also a touchscreen which made it very reflective especially if you use it against the light. Sometimes we found it hard to even read our own text documents due to harsh reflections. Since this is a touchscreen panel with Corning Glass NBT, you will often find yourself cleaning your own fingerprints after using it in tablet mode. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The touchscreen, on the other hand, was quite intuitive and was accurate enough to quick launch applications and take noted with the supplied digital pen. You can always use the laptop in tablet mode by simply folding it back all the way. The hinges on the screen look sturdy and look like it can take enough abuse to last longer than its predecessors. Keyboard The keyboard on the HP Spectre x360 is a dream to use as it has comfortable keystrokes and has a satisfying sound. The keys also provide a 1.4mm key travel which is perfect for typing long documents and also this review. The one thing we didn't like were the three backlit modes for the keyboard as we would have loved to adjust it according to our own preference. The three modes are basically bright, medium bright and off which is not ideal for different room conditions. Security We've already mentioned by HP Sure View that blocks content from prying eyes, however, the HP x360 also has additional security measures such as a fingering scanner and Windows Hello. The fingerprint scanner was very accurate and fast at unlocking the laptop as 'Windows Hello' was not as reliable. Performance The HP Spectre x360 runs on Intel's latest quad-core Whiskey Lake processor that has been made specifically for productivity, video conferencing, web browsing and video streaming. The processor has a base frequency of 1.8 GHz and is more than enough for performing photo editing on Photoshop. Having said that, we would suggest you don't run any other application in the background as it can get quite heavy for the processor to handle the extra load. In terms of memory, the laptop comes with 16 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM and cannot be upgraded if you wanted to. Internal storage is also quite impressive as it comes with a 1TB PCIe NVMe TLC SSD. For reference, the laptop got a respectable score of 3,846 in our PCMark 10 test which comes close to the performance of the XPS 13. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Probably our favourite feature of the HP Spectre x360 is the battery life. When using moderately, the laptop is capable of lasting over 20 hours however when using it for productivity and consuming content at the same time, the battery life would fall down to 14 hours. It still manages to last longer than other laptops with a similar configuration thanks to its 4-cell, 61 Wh Li-ion polymer battery. Audio Quality © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We normally don't talk about speakers in a laptop that much however there is something special going on with the HP Spectre x360. It has quad speakers that have been tuned by Bang & Olufsen. There are two speakers on the keyboard deck and two underneath giving it a very crystal clear sound. Having said that, the speakers are ideal for watching movies but you will notice the lack of bass when listening to music. The speakers on the laptop are placed in a manner that you can use them in any orientation i.e. tablet, laptop or in the tent position. This ensures that sound remains uniform in no matter which orientation you plan to use the laptop. The Final Say We used the laptop for a few weeks and we can easily say it's the most beautiful laptop we've ever used. It comes in three configuration where the starting price is Rs 1,39,990. It looks sexy and offers privacy protocols like the HP Sure View. The long battery life is definitely a winner for people who plan to use the HP Spectre x360 on the move. If you are currently looking for a premium Windows laptop, you cannot ignore the HP Spectre x360.
  13. The Redmi Note 7 was launched earlier this month in China, and the phone's biggest feature that has been advertised is its durability. In order to prove their claims, the company released a video where the smartphone was put through a bunch of stress tests. The video shows employees stomping on the Redmi Note 7, throwing it down the staircase and also a man used it as a skateboard. © YouTube The first video below shows Redmi CEO Lu Weibing throwing the Redmi Note 7 down a staircase and it suffered multiple tosses yet did not suffer any bumps or scratches. Another user used the smartphone as a skateboard by sticking wheels with duct tape. Even in this scenario, the Redmi Note 7 did not suffer any scratches or any other form of damage. This was possible thanks to the phantom grade double-sided Corning Gorilla Glass 5 body that protects the smartphone from such ordeals. In terms of other specifications, the Redmi Note 7 has a dual 48-megapixel camera set up at the back, 4,000 mAh battery and a teardrop notch display. Redmi is now a separate sub-brand of Xiaomi and its first phone is the Redmi Note 7 that has already been launched in China. The Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (2340x1080 pixels) display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM options along with 32GB and 64GB storage options. © Redmi For more information on the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro, you can check out all the details here.
  14. In the ever-changing age of the digital world, social media, from being a simple platform that initially came to fore with the promise of helping people to keep in touch and keep up with one another, has, now, gone on to become 'the thing' for people. No relationship is considered real unless it's posted on the likes of Facebook and Instagram. Happiness is now measured by the number of vacation photos you share on your social media profile. There is so much and, still, much more. Then, there are those social media trends that get the users spell-bound, making it almost imperative for others to participate while inflicting FOMO (another irritating new-age lingo) if they don't. Staying true to its nature, social media has a new trend for everyone to follow - '10 Year Challenge'. A harmless fad, right? Or, is it (that's questionable). (Plus,minus)- 10 Year Challenge ðð @rogerfederer #10yearchallenge pic.twitter.com/2lAvyKMNj6 — Belinda Bencic (@BelindaBencic) January 17, 2019 The rules are pretty simple: you simply upload two photographs of yourself - usually side by side - which were taken at least ten years apart. What's the overall message here, you'd ask? It's again simple: self-love and showing the world how you've 'glowed up' (in other words, showing how you haven't aged a day). The '10 Year Challenge' is already a rage on the social media platforms. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter; you name it. The collage of photos would have thronged your feed on social media. From cricketers to footballers and politicians to actors, everyone has been happily riding the bandwagon. And, why not, in the age where information is second-handed (read digital) and real life is secondary, social media trends is the oxygen you cannot do without. But, amid all the crazy collages of people we've seen, there came one from Rohit Sharma that stands apart from the rest. The only #10YearChallenge we should be worried about pic.twitter.com/Tph0EZUbsR — Rohit Sharma (@ImRo45) January 17, 2019 Using the '10 Year Challenge' fad as an opportunity, the Indian opener highlighted one of the long-standing problems that might soon spell doom for the mankind. Taking to Twitter, the Mumbai batsman shared a collage of photos of the marine life where the one from 2009 was colourful and lively, while the one from 2019 was dull and dusty. He captioned the post with a valid point: "The only #10YearChallenge we should be worried about". In the year, where we all were going gaga about the stock image of an egg beating Kylie Jenner's record of the most-liked photo on Instagram, before Netflix's 'Bird Box' had people running around blindfolded, Rohit has set a much-needed precedent for celebrities and fans alike, showing that such social media trends can actually be used responsibly, and for something good. And, while there are already rife allegations that the collages of the photos that we all have been happily sharing on the social media could very well be used as data to test the facial recognition algorithms, people must proceed with due diligence. After all, humans are the connective link between physical and digital worlds. It's human interactions that make the 'Internet of Things' interesting. And, sadly, our data is the fuel that makes businesses smarter and more profitable.
  15. It's quite rare to find earphones that offer superb balanced sound quality and offer accurate frequency response at the same time. Most earphones either offer one of the two or often compromise on build quality. However, 1More's triple driver earphones break that myth and offer all of these factors in one package. It's our favourite earphones to use at the moment and there's a good reason for it: nothing comes close to these earphones right now. We used it for casual podcast listening, music and gaming and it performed well in all scenarios apart from a few minor caveats. Here's our review of 1More's Triple Driver earphones: Packaging © MensXP Normally, we don't talk much about the packaging of an earphone as it's quite generic; even for high-end headphones. However, 1More gives you a box that is filled with accessories and overall justifies its premium aura. It comes with a hard faux-leather case for your earphones, a metal shirt clip, an adapter for planes and a set of 10 ear-tips. No other brand in India gives you so many ear-tips that cater to your personal liking. There are three pairs of foam tips and seven silicone tips giving you the freedom to use what suits you best. The box is also shaped and designed as a hard book. It has magnets that keep it closed and the interiors have sketches of the earphones. It's by far the most premium looking packaging we've ever seen and 1More deserves a point just for making that extra effort. Design © 1More 1More is a company that designs all the earphones for Xiaomi. In fact, you will see the same design language in some of Xiaomi's products today. The 1More triple driver has an aluminium shell that is shaped like a cone with an angle. Due to this design choice, it sits perfectly in the ear to give the best sound experience possible. The cable is also made of braided fabric that makes it easier to manage and does not get easily tangled. Overall, the build quality is top notch as it feels quite durable and sturdy. The cables will remain intact even if you use it quite roughly thanks to the braided fabric. The earbuds feel extra comfortable even when we used it for prolonged periods of time. We tested the earphones while gaming and the sheer comfort was able to add a few hours in game time. © MensXP The supplied pouch is also a handy thing to have as it makes it easier to commute with these headphones. You can easily store this headphone in the pouch to protect it from getting damaged in your pocket or bag. The pouch comes most handy when you are travelling on planes as you can store the adapter in the pouch as well. You can use the adapter on planes to watch content and have a far better experience than those lousy headphones you get in the flight. How Does It Sound? © YouTube The 1More Triple driver earphones consist of two armature driver and a dynamic driver in each earbud. These deliver a superior sound experience as the balanced armature drivers can host multiple drivers in a compact body. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the sound from the earphones and this pair also happen to be THX certified. So if you love to watch movies on the go, these earphones will also deliver a surround sound experience. In terms of sound, the 1More Triple Driver earphones deliver a very precise, clear and rich sound. The bass is not too heavy leaving enough room for the mids and highs to be balanced. This combination makes the sound a little less muddy even when you turn up the volume. The slight mid-bass bump also results in a very balanced and warm tone that is quite rare to find on in-ear headphones. Is It Worth It? In India, the 1More Triple Driver earphone costs Rs 7,349 on Amazon and is worth every single rupee. To be honest, these earphones should be priced way higher for what it offers in terms of sound and build quality. It's actually quite hard to think what other earphone sounds betters than the 1More Triple Driver at an unbelievable price like this. It's got luxury level packing, full accessories and a sound that is to die for. If you are serious about your music, just buy these earphones as soon as you can.
  16. We already know Sallu Bhai has a bad boy reputation in the film industry but here's an amusing fact--he was always the known bad boy since his childhood days and he didn't earn the title just in Bollywood! It turns out the actor was a mischievous lad during his school days too and it was all revealed when he came on The Kapil Sharma Show with his family. The actor's father, Salim Khan, made a fantastic revelation on the show sharing an instance of how Salman and his brothers used to procure leaked exam papers, to help them pass school exams! And here we are left wondering why he couldn't memorise his syllabus like he does his dialogues? Maybe verbatim confuses him? Who knows! (c)Sony Pictures Network On the show, while Salman was seated with his father, Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, Salim, 83, narrated a few incidents and anecdotes from his sons' lives, in a candid conversation with the host and one of them was as bizarre as it was funny. According to Salim, a man used to come over to their house, when the three boys were in school and was given a lot of importance. Out of sheer curiosity, Salim tried to find out who the man actually was, who was getting more importance than the owner of the house. Turns out the man, Ganesh, was a middleman who used to deliver leaked exam papers to the kids! "Hamare ghar ek aadmi aata tha, Ganesh aaya...Ganesh aaya. Ganesh ko chai pilao. Ganesh ko stool dena baithne ke liye. Maine kaha, kaun hai ye? Mere ghar mein mujhse zyada izzat milti hai ise. Maine kaha mujhe pata lagana chahiye kaun hai ye. Toh pata laga ki jab paper leak hota tha exam ka, woh unko laakar deta tha" narrated Salim. Thankfully though, Salman didn't choose the Rubi Rai and Saurabh Shresht route, which involved an education fraud in Bihar to be honest as he just took some help from the already leaked papers to pass exams. (c)Twitter All in all, we're mighty relieved Bhai was still learning the tricks of the trade as a kid and didn't get into too much trouble back then. Can't say the same right now though, can we?
  17. Online shopping has now become an integral part of our life with Amazon leading the way. Whether it's a Rs 100 coffee pouch or Rs 1,00,000 smartphone, everything is available online. With urban life getting even more stressful due to a population boom and crumbling infrastructure, more and more people are opting to do their holiday shopping online instead of walking into a brick and mortar store. This explosion in online shopping has led to "porch pirates" and "stoop surfers" who swipe holiday packages from unsuspecting residents. In the USA, the courier delivery is often left on the porch or mailbox when someone isn't present to physically accept it. © Reuters To counter these thieves, Police in Jersey City have been placing fake Amazon packages outside people's homes to catch thieves. These Amazon packages are insight of cameras near the home and also equipped with GPS devices to track the robber's movements. Police and Amazon picked locations for the sting operation using Jersey City crime statistics and maps of theft locations provided by Amazon. Jersey City police captain James Crecco, who is overseeing the mission, told the AP it only took three minutes for one bait package to be stolen earlier this week. “We thought it was a mistake at first,” he said, adding that the suspect was caught. © AP News Exact figures on porch thefts are hard to come by though. Amazon uses its own logistics network as well as relies on UPS and FedEx for last-mile delivery. Unfortunately, all the concerned companies have declined to share figures. Amazon is offering the necessary equipment for free to the Jersey City program. “Most of the package thefts we've made arrests on revolving around (closed-circuit TV) or private surveillance cameras that give us a still image,” Jersey City Police Chief Michael Kelly said. “With the bait packages, some will be under video surveillance, and some will have GPS.” © Reuters The Jersey City police hope to catch thieves before they snatch up someone's holiday gifts. The program has undergone legal review and was approved by the local prosecutor. To prevent theft, users also have the option of purchasing a parcel box that allows only the owner and delivery person access. Amazon Key Smart Lock is one such product and has proven to be useful on most occasions. Source: AP News
  18. Laptops are now used by almost everyone for various purposes. Some use it for daily office work, some use it for watching content and others use it for creating content. What if I told you that there's now a laptop that does all of the above-mentioned functions and then some. We got to review the 2018 Apple MacBook Pro and so far, it has delivered far more than what we expected. The laptop model we were testing doesn't sell in India currently, however, it is still prudent to review one of the most powerful laptops in the world. This particular MacBook Pro has an i9 Core, improved graphics and 32 GB of RAM. Let's find out how the MacBook Pro performed during the course of our review: Design Language & Display © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla When it comes to design, Apple has opted to go for the same look as last year's model and even then, it looks like one of the sexiest laptops on the planet. We got the Space Gray unit that is basically one solid block of aluminium and has the same reflective logo. It boasts a minimalistic look that can be easily identified from across the room. There are noticeable bezels around the display and is thicker when compared to other laptops such as the Dell XPS series. The trackpad is massive in size and also features a massive Touch Bar at the top of the keyboard. This Touch Bar houses the entire function row which can be a bit challenging to use. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla When it comes to ports, Apple has opted to provide four USB Type-C ports that could cause some inconvenience to those professionals who still depend on external hard drives and other accessories. All ports are Thunderbolt 3 ports which means you will either need a dongle, a converter or an adapter to use older USBs. © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Our review unit has a 15.4-inch IPS display and has a resolution of 2880 x 1800. It is brighter than its predecessor and also has True Tone technology borrowed from the iPhone. This basically adjusts the colour balance and makes it easier to view the screen when consuming content. If you edit pictures and videos on your laptop, you will have to turn off this feature to view accurate colours. The screen is sharp enough to display the minutest of details in a Full HD movie. When it comes to brightness, the MacBook Pro measured 334 nits of average brightness and surpassed almost every other laptop out there except the XPS 15. Performance © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Our review unit is outfitted with 2.9GHz Intel Core i9-8950HK processor, Radeon Pro 560X GPU, 4TB SSD and 32 GB of DDR4 RAM. We could easily open at least 35 to 40 tabs on Safari or 30 Tabs on Chrome and it would still work as smooth as warm butter. When it comes to Geekbenc 4 scores, the MacBook Pro 15 scored an impressive 22451 in the multi-core test. That's faster than Dell's top of the line XPS 15 laptop. For video content creators, this laptop is probably the fastest machine you can use in 2018 for rendering videos. We used Handbrake to test the rendering and encoding time for a 4K movie and were shocked to see the results. The laptop was able to render a 4K movie in less than 10 minutes. That's double the speed of any other laptop in the same price range. The Keyboard © MensXP_Akshay Bhalla Apple has improved the butterfly keyboard on the 2018 MacBook models across the board. They are now quieter and are now more reliable. Last year's MacBook had a slight problem with the keyboard and if you have come across some of my previous stories with the letter 'H' missing, that was because of my key getting stuck. Apple has now fixed that problem as it has silicone membraned underneath the switches; this protects the keyboard from dust and debris. Battery Life We were surprised to see that the MacBook Pro 15 lasted over 9.5 hours on a single charge, because it has so much under the hood that would normally drain out the battery on a Windows laptop. If you turn down the brightness of the screen and only use light applications, the laptop is capable of lasting longer than 10 hours. The Final Say The new 15-inch MacBook Pro is probably the most powerful laptop we've ever used. It can carry out tasks that would normally freeze up a normal laptop and the i9 core just takes the performance of the laptop to the stratosphere. It can last longer than 10 hours if you don't use it for editing videos/images and is capable of rendering 4K movies in under 10 minutes. The i9 variant is yet to be made officially available in India, however, we can expect a similar performance from the Intel Core i7 processor variant. It has a 256GB of SSD storage, the same GPU and 16GBB of RAM. It retails in India for Rs 1,99,00 and is probably the only laptop you want to invest your time and money in.

  20. If you ever look up what the meaning of irony is, you'll find this piece of news. Yesterday, the Ludhiana Police Special Task Force (STF) arrested 27-year-old Fatehjit Singh of Mohalla Amarpuri, Daba after catching him with a shitload of drugs. But, that's normal, right? Police catching people doing illegal things? But, the best part of the story is that this guy is actually a former vice-president of district-level NGO Yuva Anti-Corruption Society and has previously conducted rallies against evils like drugs and corruption. Oops, looks like he forgot to listen to himself. He was also all set to contest the municipal corporation elections this year as an independent candidate from ward 30 of South constituency, but his form was rejected. He was arrested at a checkpoint near Kabeer Nagar where the STF stopped him and discovered 500gms of heroin after some frisking. For some context, that much of heroin costs â¹2.5 crore. I shouldn't even have to say 'don't do drugs kids' because looks like most of us can't even afford them. STF in-charge sub-inspector Harbans Singh said, “The accused used to conduct rallies against social evils, like drugs and corruption, in the city. He was all set to contest the civic body polls this year, but his form was rejected. He started peddling drugs around three years ago. The peddlers based in Ropar supplied the contraband to Fatehjit in Ludhiana and he delivered it to customers.” The sub-inspector added, “Fatehjit started peddling drugs under the influence of a murder accused lodged in Kapurthala jail. On the jail inmate's instructions through a mobile phone, he would tell Ropar-based smugglers the place and date of delivery. The jail inmate would inform Fatehajit about the customers too. The police will bring the inmate on production warrant from the Kapurthala jail.”

  23. The 90s was a magical era. Ask any 90s kid and they will confirm. There was something about that time that made everything look grand and majestic. Naturally, pop culture was purely aspirational. Fashion was no different and we had models who made us want to basically just be like them. They were incredibly charismatic, fit, and most importantly, 'extraordinary' in the truest sense of the word. Here, we have compiled a list of 8 of them. Take a look and reminisce! 1. Milind Soman © Twitter Ever since the world saw a young Milind Soman in Alisha Chinai's chartbuster music video 'Made in India', he has been an icon. That lean, fit frame along with the God-like features made sure that Milind was pretty much the benchmark for perfection about how an 'ideal man' should look like. Every model aspired to be him, and rightfully so. He's crossed 50 now, but even now gives 20-year-olds a run for their money when it comes to fitness. 2. Dino Morea © Twitter Dino Morea, with his sculpted physique and charming face was the dream man for every girl in the 90s. His popularity was almost unattainable, and the thing that made it even more effective was his nonchalance towards that. At 42, nothing has changed, and he is as fit as he always was. It's unexplainable, tbh. 3. Zulfi Syed © Twitter A regular face in popular music videos and advertisements, Zulfi Syed had that royal edge to him that you're just born with. He was one of the most popular models in the country. Every kid would look up to him, admire him, or fancy him. And why not? 4. Arjun Rampal © Twitter Before he became a household Bollywood name, Arjun Rampal was one of the top models of the country. His long locks and super sharp jawline broke many a hearts. 5. John Abraham © Twitter John is a superstar today, but he also started off his journey as a model with this group right here. Good acting skills, humility, dedication, and an absolute cracker of a physique helped him become one of Bollywood's biggest self-made names. 6. Marc Robinson © Twitter Marc was an extremely handsome model who was popular in his own right, but an extremely controversial condom advertisement with Pooja Bedi transformed him into a household name overnight. 7. Jas Arora © Twitter Popular as the 'Gur naal isqh mitha' guy, Jas was perhaps the 'hottest property' to be cast in music videos, and for good reason. The ladies adored his guy next door charm, which he effortlessly multiplied with his dimples. 8. Aryan Vaid © Twitter Aryan Vaid was one of the fittest models the 90s had to offer. Every adolescent kid used to aspire those abs and that lean frame. He was one of the most photogenic models during that time.
