  1. The 90s and early 2000s in India was an era apart. New things were coming our way and the world was opening up, to us Indians. Influence of western culture was becoming a bit more obvious and we could see it trickle through popular culture every now and then. Our most favourable pastime though was music and since English music was pouring in immensely, India decided to dive into absolute music diversity and produce some excellent music. That's when the entire era of popular Indian music arose and we couldn't get enough of it! Remember Luky Ali's 'O Sanam'? © Sony Well, looking back at that time is just another way to welcome nostalgia back into our lives. The songs were superb and catchy, the videos spoke about heartache, young people in love, daring women or happy times and the people in the video were memorable to say the least. Both men and women alike pursuing a career in acting or modelling would be a part of these videos, and of course we would all crush on them mighty hard! Some of them stayed on to become popular actors, actresses or models while the rest remained a one-hit wonder. Here's reminiscing back in time when life was simpler, and just watching that one woman in that one video made our day! Here are six women from popular videos back in the 90s and early 2000s we wish we had amidst us, even today! (1) Nauheed Cyrusi © Sony Music Entertainment Recently I was going through my Instagram account and suddenly I saw this profile that looked so familiar. When I opened it, there was a sunken feeling of nostalgia within! It was the 'piya basanti' girl. Remember her? Well, I am sure the kids from the 90s will definitely remember her. Also, looks like, she was stuck in a time capsule because she hasn't aged a bit! © Instagram (2) Shyla Lopez © Vevo The surreal beauty, Shyla Lopez was a rage in the 90s when we first saw her in Shaan's song 'Meri Soni, Meri Tamanna'. After that, she went onto feature in many more videos, the most popular one being 'Baho mein chalein aayo', where she played a Rajasthani tribal woman. She was seriously the one and only fantasy for the 90s boys! We found her on the internet again and she looks as hot as ever. © Facebook (3) Sushma Reddy © Femina She was mostly made popular in Sonu Nigam videos back in the 90s. Girl with the beautiful smile, Sushma is Sameera and Meghna Reddy's sister, who first appeared in TV commercials before getting a gig in the pop video world. She also went on to become a VJ with Channel V when it was launched and also hosted a show on Discovery Travel and Living. She's done a bunch of movies and now she produces her own projects. © Facebook (4) Michelle Innes © Spny Music Ent This marvellous striking Anglo-Indian beauty from Allahabad was breathtaking when we first saw her in Sonu Nigam's 'Is Kadar Pyaar hai' and then again in Euphoria's 'Dhoom Picchuk Dhoom'. She appeared on the Vogue India's cover in 2007 when her modelling career was at its peak but apart from that, our only memory of her was from 'Dhoom Picchuk Dhoom' and we absolutely fell in love with her then! © BCCL (5) Meghna Naidu © Sony Actress Meghna Naidu became an overnight sensation in her hit video 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman', where she was seen in a backless almost see through sequential top, most women wouldn't dare to wear in the early 2000s! A game changing baller, she made the 2000s more daring for women and we love her for that. Currently she acts, travels and also teaches dance! © Instagram (6) Shefali Jariwala © YouTube If you don't know her then your early 2000's were an absolute waste! The 90s hangover lasted till about mid 2000s where pop culture was becoming more radical and thought-provoking with the changing narratives. Shefali was definitely one of the main protagonists for this change with her 'Kanta Laga' video which became so popular, people almost forgot the original song! Her outfit was her showing off her thong, while wearing a pair of denims but in reality, the thongs were a part of the denim! She became popular as the 'thong girl' right after she was featured in the video. © Instagram So, there you go. Six charming beautiful girls from the 90s and early 2000s we can never forget even though they're a one-hit wonders and here's hoping these songs remain on a loop in our head, for the rest of our lives!
  2. Chris Hemsworth is not just one of the fittest people in Marvel, but also the entire Hollywood. I mean, that's like a pre-requisite for playing Thor in any movie other than Avengers: Endgame. He's a gym bro out and out, but not the cringey, annoying one, but the kind that would give anyone the motivation to actually start working out or maybe take their workouts to the next level. He, obviously, spends a good amount of time working out, so it's no surprise that every other thing he posts online is videos of him doing just that. But, what sets him apart is his content. Unlike the usual crowd, who post gym-mirror selfies and flaunt oiled abs at the same damn gym every time, Chris likes to mix it up and actually show all the crazy workouts he does. Well, if that's not inspiring, I don't know what is. I probably heard about 'underwater workout' for the first time because of Chris. 3. We were probably in third or fourth grade when Archie comics got its Indian avatar in the form of KJO drama Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Anjali and Rahul instantly became friendship goals for us and Tina became everyone's crush. Also, wearing that 'cool' around our neck was a 'thing' . Believe it or not, it's been 21 years since it happened to us and naturally everyone has been talking about KKHH today on social media. View this post on Instagram Firsts are always special! The cast, crew, music & the heart & soul of this film was all in the right placeâ¤ï¸ Thank you for making this journey a timeless one even after 21yrs! #21YearsOfClassicKKHH @iamsrk @kajol #RaniMukerji @beingsalmankhan @apoorva1972 @DharmaMovies A post shared by Karan Johar (@karanjohar) on Oct 15, 2019 at 8:45pm PDT So, while I was casually listening to KKHH album in the morning ever since I spotted the trend online, I also stumbled across a few BTS videos from the time it was shot and boy, it is pure gold to watch them now! Also, last year KJO threw light on how certain scenes were shot and where were they shot. Besides, there were a few deleted scenes as well that was like a child finding a hidden toy. Pure joy watching the parts which didn't make it to the final cut. Not many people know but Salman's role was in fact first offered to Saif Ali Khan and Rani's role was rejected by many actresses including Raveena Tandon and Twinkle Khanna. We're glad the movie turned out the way it did because it wouldn't have been the iconic movie of love and friendship without any of these ingredients.
  4. Vicky Kaushal is the actor who is giving our classic Bollywood heroes a run for their money. The man who started out with a dream in his heart and treaded on an unknown path has come a long way from his 'Masaan' days. His recent performance as DJ Sandz and a path-breaking record with 'Uri' has made him the favourite man of the moment and he is well aware of it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on Mar 20, 2019 at 1:47am PDT Vicky is celebrating his 31st birthday today and is ringing it amongst his family and friends. View this post on Instagram The smile on my face is because of the people you see in the reflection behind. Thank You guys. Also, feeling so damn blessed reading all your wonderful wishes. Thank You so much for this beautiful shower of love and blessings. Lots of love and a big hug to each one of you. And that btw, on the table, was my birthday cake! ðâ¤ï¸ð A post shared by Vicky Kaushal (@vickykaushal09) on May 16, 2019 at 2:12am PDT We stumbled upon some unseen, raw footage of his theatre days, which are notable performances in their own league. One of the videos shows Vicky in a theatrical production where he's seen essaying a comic character. Another short clip shows a talented Vicky playing the role of a rough police officer misbehaving with a woman. This has a carefree Vicky drinking with his friends and contemplating a plan to commit suicide. Interestingly, he was also a part of Vasan Bala's short movie 'Geek Out' . For any Vicky Kaushal fan, this is a gold mine right here.
  5. Some people have stopped talking about 'Avengers: Endgame', but not us. It's been almost a week since the official spoiler ban was lifted by none other than the Russo Brothers and Chris Evans being just like his character, waited till then to share a lot of behind the scenes stuff from the biggest movie ever, unlike his fellow actors like Robert Downey Jr, Chris Pratt, and Elizabeth Olsen. Does that mean I can start posting set videos on Monday? https://t.co/X9c946pFW6 — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 2, 2019 Yes, the most responible one. Which is obviously WAY cooler than being the most handsome, funny, or talented. Take note, other Chrises. Losers. https://t.co/vG0JGheowM — Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) May 3, 2019 So, I wanted to wait till Chris himself was done sharing a bunch of stuff from the sets of Endgame to compile a list of all of the BTS stuff, and here we go! 6. The very popular, albeit annoying to the level of self-destruction, Chinese video making application TikTok has been finally taken down from Google and Apple app stores in India. The (awesome) news comes after the Madras High Court prohibited its downloads on 3rd April. Now, following the direction of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the app has been temporarily banned in the country. © Twitter The popular app which was actively used by millions of Indians to create short videos was said to contain “inappropriate content”, in a petition filed by senior advocate S Muthukumar. He further stated that children using the app were vulnerable to potential paedophiles using the application, and sought an immediate ban on the use of TikTok. © Justdial While there is strong merit in those allegations, we must recall that Indonesia also temporarily blocked TikTok last year, saying that it contained pornography and blasphemous content. Perhaps it is really time for TikTok to take a step back and think about regulating its content and privacy/security details. View this post on Instagram Comments how that vedio you like or not ??? So, true to that data, imagine the insane amount of video “content” that is being churned out on the platform on a daily basis. While some can be genuinely fun to look at (only once in a while), most other videos are pure torture to the beholder. While this news must be heart-breaking for Indian TikTok 'stars', the following cringey videos are all the proof we need that the ban is in all of our best interest. What did we just see?! 7. It seems like Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's Miami vacation is never-ending - just like their wedding - and people talking about it and it's just going on and on. Facebook and Instagram users in India can now use licensed Indian music in their posts and videos, as the company has signed licensing deals with three of India's top music labels including T-Series, Zee Music Company and Yash Raj Films. Licensed music from these labels can be used in social experiences such as videos, messages, stories and other creative content on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook noted that the posts and videos, which users choose to share on the platform, can be made more meaningful and personal with music. © Instagram Thanks to this partnership, users can include their favorite tracks from popular Bollywood films including the latest hits like Apna Time Aayega from 'Gully Boy', Aankh Marey from 'Simmba', Swag Se Swagat from 'Tiger Zinda Hai', as well as regional hits like Lahore by Guru Randhawa, Zingaat from 'Sairat' plus old classics like Bas Ek Sanam Chaahiye from 'Aashiqui'. Commenting on the partnership, Facebook India's Director and Head of Partnerships, Manish Chopra said, “Music has always been a powerful medium of expression. We are excited about partnering with the music industry in India and the idea that people here will be now be able to include music in their videos on Facebook and Instagram, opening up more options for more ways to express and sharing memories with friends and family.” Facebook signed its first ever music label deal in December of 2017 with Universal Music Group, and the company now has licensing partnerships with different labels across 40 countries.
  10. Many a times when I go to the gym and see personal trainers making their clients do something new, it makes me question their certifications along with their common sense! You go to the gym to augment your strength, your physique and your fitness. But some trainers make you do questionable stuff to show that training with them is 'different.' However, is different always better? You can decide that for yourself. Here are the 10 of the dumbest (and in some cases, outright dangerous) workout videos I have seen in 2018 so far: 1. Ego Pressing On The Leg Press I have seen this multiple times at the gym. Trainers add plates to the leg press to satisfy egos. In no way does partial leg pressing help their clients. Here is how it can be outright dangerous: 2. Curling In The Squat Rack It is a golden rule of lifting. DO NOT CURL IN THE SQUAT RACK. Especially if you are blocking someone from squatting doing it! And if you do, at least curl with a full range of motion. Unlike this: It is one of the reasons people cannot grow their biceps. 3. Deadlifting With Poor Technique If you do not plan to compete in powerlifting, you can skip doing deadlifts. Yes, you read that right. There is no mandate of doing deadlifts. It is an exercise where one can easily go wrong and hurt themselves due to poor technique: 4. Functional Stupidity How do you do this? Pick a compound exercise and insert a piece of functional equipment into it. Like jumping, running, etc. into it. Make it unsafe as possible. As more the safety issue, better the exercise. Just like this: 5. Using The Smith Machine To Satisfy The Ego The Smith machine can be a great tool and can also help you work during injuries as a prehab or a rehab tool. But many people just use it to satisfy their egos: 6. Quarter Squats This is a favourite for many people. They load up the weight of more than twice of what they can do on the squat and do quarter squats. This must be a common sight at your gym as well: 7. CrossFit I have written a piece on why CrossFit does not make sense as a form of workout. It leads to people doing such questionable things at the gym: View this post on Instagram ð via @jeff_fitness - - ðµð¾ð»ð»ð¾ð @GymFuckery @GymFuckeryTV @GenerationIronOfficial @Squat_Wolf - - ð¥ @gymfuckerytv - - - Send us your gym fails, comedy and memes (dm or email us) or use #gymfuckery to be featured. Fake Plates Using plates that look like 20 kilos but are actually 5 kilos. Yes, that is a trend now to be popular on Instagram: 9. Fake Dumbbells Fake weights have now become a thing with dumbbells too: View this post on Instagram Lightweight baby ð³ð - - - - ð¥ credit @zoekfit - - Send us your gym fails, comedy and memes (dm or email us) or use #gymfuckery to be featured. 12. Who doesn't like a good ol' classic like '8 Mile?' Yeah, it's a classic. If you disagree with me we can take the fight outside! Just like that, there are a lot of Hollywood movies which have used music videos to up the interest quotient in their movies. Getting a big name to do the title song for your movie will all but guarantee the people watch it, right? If only it were so. There have been many misses in this regard but for today, we're only going to focus on the ones that worked. These music videos didn't just generate interest in the movies they were associated with, they became superhits on their own. Again, I'm digressing. The only thing we're interested in here is how good these music videos are at making people go and watch the movie they are associated with. It's a list based purely on how a song makes you feel, so bear with me for a bit. You might not agree with my choices, but before you tear into me in the comments, listen to the songs. They might just change your mind. Also, use good headphones/earphones please. Using crap listening devices will doing an injustice to these songs… 1. '8 Mile' – Lose Yourself Every 13-year-old kid who was able to convince his/her parents to get them this cassette when it came out is a legend! But, back then, little did we know that there was a music video and an entire movie we could watch too. Yeah, the internet wasn't what it is today. Forget exams, the only thing that mattered was memorising the lyrics. The clocks run out. Times out. Over. Blao! I could rap the whole thing at one point. No lies! Could you? Anyway, the fact remains that Eminem is a Rap God and if you haven't watched '8 Mile' yet, there's no better time than now! If you have, I don't need to convince you to watch it again! 2. 'Dangerous Minds' – Gangsta's Paradise Everyone has heard this song. You haven't? Of course, you have! Just give it a listen: But, did you know that it was originally made for the movie 'Dangerous Minds?' Not many people do. Why? The movie wasn't the greatest. Even Michelle Pfeiffer couldn't make it work. The song, on the other hand, broke all sorts of records and even won Coolio a Grammy. Still, the movie is pretty bad. It's the only movie on this list I'd not recommend you giving a watch! 3. 'Black Panther' – Pray For Me There's no denying two things here. This is the coolest looking video on this list and 'Black Panther' is the highest earning movie on this list. I don't even need to brag about this one. The music video will make you appreciate it on its own. So, instead of writing, I'm just gonna watch the video with all of you: 4. 'Ghostbusters' – Ghostbusters It took a lot of effort to convince myself to start writing again. The only thing I want to do right now, is watch 'Black Panther.' But, we all have jobs and sometimes they suck. Just kidding, I love my job. Anyway, on to Ghostbusters. First, I'm not talking about the movie that released in 2016. I'm talking about the original. Still not clear? This should help: Before you comment on the video, bear in mind that it was released in 1984. I'd say it's pretty revolutionary when you take that into account. Did Ray Parker Jr. know his song was going to become one of the most easily recognisable songs in history? No. Does he mind? Hell no! After this one, all I can say is 'Ghostbusting makes me feel good!' 5. 'Rocky III' – Eye Of The Tiger Let's face it. By the time 'Rocky II' was over, people weren't expecting too much from 'Rocky III'. Why? He's defeated Creed. He's a champion. It's only downhill from there. Or so we thought. They found a way to make Rocky the underdog once more. He was past his prime and facing a hungry new-comer. But, what sealed it for the movie has got to be the song. The song that is part of everyone's gym playlist. It's not a part of yours? It has to be. Add it now! Everyone wants a ripped body like young Sylvester Stallone. Don't fool yourself! You do too! This song is the only way to get it! 6. 'Lego Movie' – Everything Is Awesome The first time I heard this song, it blew my mind. The 'Lego Movie' blew my mind. It was so much better than expected. Part of it has to do with the awesome theme song. When Batman approves! You better get on board! I'm so pumped right now it's not funny! Everything is awesome! Be careful with this one. It can make even the crappiest of days feel awesome. 7. 'Men In Black II' – Nod Ya Head Okay, this is a personal favourite. Not sure if everyone will agree. For me, Will Smith is an icon. I don't care what you have to say about him or his kids. For me, he will always be the kid from 'The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air' who became a Hollywood superstar! He deserves my respect and yours too. I give him props for sticking to his rap career even after becoming a superstar. Check out his charisma: His rap career did come full circle when he did the theme song for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Congratulations Will. But, I'll still remember him for this one. The first 'Men In Black' theme song was pretty cool too. But, this one is just better. Why? It makes me want to watch all 3 movies. Yeah, you heard me right, all 3 movies! 8. 'Saturday Night Fever' – Stayin' Alive The last music video on this list is here for just one reason, and that is to show the world how far a young John Travolta can take anything. Just look at the beautiful man: This wasn't supposed to be the last video on the list but screw it. I have to go rewatch all of John Travolta's work now. The man is a legend. If I keep going this will become a John Travolta appreciation post. So, I'm out. Figure out which of these movies you're going to watch first. Have a great day!

  15. Since the past few weeks, the whole world has been talking incessantly about the Marvel Universe and how half the superheroes turned to dust at the snap of Thanos' fingers and the Infinity Stones settled on them. But, it's time to move on and focus on our own universe, which is scarier than any other world out there. We're talking about 'The Conjuring' universe, which is back to scare the wits out of you with its fifth installment– 'The Nun'. © new line cinema While you were busy tagging your friends in the videos of 'Chai pi lo' Aunty, 'The Conjuring 2' directors released this eerie and unsettling trailer of 'The Nun', a spin-off that revolves around a nun who finds herself trapped in a midst of paranormal events as she investigates the death of a fellow nun. Given it has Taissa Farmiga in the movie, can we call it a scary crossover between 'The Conjuring 2' and 'American Horror Story'? © new line cinema The demonic nun from the creepy portrait, who also happens to be main antagonist in 'The Conjuring 2', is the same ghost who paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were after; and she finally got her own standalone movie, but sadly the trailer did not impress me much. The trailer takes us back in time to a Romanian convent; where a nun was found dead in a shady nook. 'A priest with a haunted past' and 'a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows' are sent to investigate the murder by the Vatican. Together they solve the murder mystery, travel through dingy dark paths and finally come face-to-face with the demonic nun. © new line cinema Honestly, anyone who spots a ghost lurking around them will freak out and scream to the Gods for help. But our protagonist here is so brave, that the first thing she says when she sees the ghost is “Hello!” But she realizes pretty soon that a greeting was not what that ghost nun was expecting from her. For me, the element of fear was completely missing from this 1-minute 32-second long video, that had hyped up the horror genre for me, despite there being two demonic nuns this time, which at least the trailer hints at! Directed by Corin Hardy and helmed by Gary Dauberman of 'It' fame, the movie will release on September 7 and stars Demian Bichir as Father Burke, Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu, and Bonnie Aarons.

  17. On a scale of 1 to 10, how proud are you guys of your Google and YouTube search? FYI, deleting your search history now doesn't count here! I initially wanted to mark the scale from -10 to 10, because after reading this story, most of us will probably dig the earth and hide our faces in shame. Why? Because when most of us were busy watching funny videos or trailers of the latest shows and movies on the internet, Anudeep Durishetty cracked his civil service exam using Google and YouTube. Pexels When asked about how he prepared for the exams and tips he can give to the students aspiring to crack Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Anudeep told The Times Of India, “It is not necessary that one enrolls with a coaching institute. These days everything is available online and all one needs is the zeal and motivation to crack the test.” Twitter/For Representation Durishetty did not take any coaching classes, but spent hours on the internet to prepare for it, “There are many websites, magazines and newspapers that can provide one with all the required information. Even then if someone has a doubt, YouTube is the best tutor.” Well said Durishetty, you are an example of how the world of internet does not provide us entertainment alone; it is actually a great source of infotainment too. We guess, it's time to clean up our search history and make room for some knowledge based videos that can help us in the long run. BCCL Anudeep is an IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer from Metpally village, Jagatyal. In fact, it was while serving in his current position that his resolute to become an IAS officer grew stronger. “As an IRS officer, you are limited to the revenue department. But an IAS gets to test his limits in various departments. It brings more responsibility. This realisation made me work even harder to achieve my goal.” Facebook The 28-year-old will be serving at the Telangana cadre, his native state. “This is the place where I was born and brought up and working here and making a difference with my work would be an honour. However, no matter where I am posted, improving health and education will be my top priorities,” he further added. This is his fifth attempt and while the odds were in his favour, he had decided that he won't write the test again if he doesn't get selected this time. Well, we congratulate Durishetty and are glad that he cracked UPSC. Else, we wouldn't have known about this great deal of benefits that watching videos (knowledge-based of course) on YouTube can bring you.
  18. I feel like Rihanna is one celebrity that you would never ever want to mess with, she's so badass and honestly doesn't give a ****, so she has the power to destroy you. How can we forget this truly iconic reply? @CELEBUZZ your ***** is way too dry to be riding my dick like this — Rihanna (@rihanna) May 18, 2012 See? You do not want to be on Bad Gal Riri's bad side. As she said in her song 'Needed Me', 'Didn't they tell you that she was a savage'? But, there are some things that would make even Rihanna laugh, like people mimicking a video of her putting on Fenty Beauty's Body Lava luminizer in the most hilarious way. Trust me when I say this but this would be the most hilarious thing you will watch today, actually the whole week. Are you ready? Are you? No, you're not, but here we go. But, I want everyone to see and observe each and every person in the video separately, so let's go. First, there's Rihanna being her flawless self, obviously. Everyone, please appreciate that look. Now, we have some people who are actually better than Rihanna at this. (I'm just kidding, don't @ me) Instead of buying the $54 Body Lava and the $42 Fairy Bomb, you can just use some lotion and a toilet brush. It's the same thing, isn't it? Or, we can take the next guy's innovative idea – a broom. The next guy is here to present the argument that a brush isn't required at all, and we should all think outside of the box and use a shoe. The last guy won the whole thing, he changed the game. Wait for it. I love the confused lil doggo. 19. Silhouettes of laptop users are seen next to a screen projection of Facebook logo, March 28, 2018. REUTERS/Illustration/Dado Ruvic/Files SAN FRANCISCO: Facebook Inc said Thursday it had begun ?fact-checking? photos and videos to reduce the hoaxes and false news stories that have plagued the world?s largest social media network. Facebook has for months faced an uproar among users whose complaints range from the spread of fake news to the use of the network to manipulate elections and the harvesting of 50 million people?s Facebook data by the political consultancy Cambridge Analytica. Manipulated photos and videos are another growing problem on social media. The fact-checking began on Wednesday in France with assistance from the news organization AFP and will soon expand to more countries and partners, Tessa Lyons, a product manager at Facebook, said in a briefing with reporters. Lyons did not say what criteria Facebook or AFP would use to evaluate photos and videos, or how much a photo could be edited or doctored before it is ruled fake. The project is part of ?efforts to fight false news around elections,? she said. A representative for AFP could not immediately be reached for comment. Shares of Facebook closed up 4.4 percent at $159.79 on Thursday after a tumultuous two weeks. It remained down more than 13 percent from March 16, when Facebook disclosed the Cambridge Analytica data leak and sparked fears of stricter regulation. Facebook has tried other ways to stem the spread of fake news. It has used third-party fact-checkers to identify them and then given such stories less prominence in the Facebook News Feed when people share links to them. In January, Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook would prioritize ?trustworthy? news by using member surveys to identify high-quality outlets. Samidh Chakrabarti, another Facebook product manager, said in the briefing that the company had begun to ?proactively? look for election-related disinformation rather than waiting for reports from users, helping it to move more quickly. Alex Stamos, Facebook?s chief security officer, said in the briefing that the company was concerned not only about false facts but also other kinds of fakery. He said Facebook wanted to reduce ?fake audiences,? which he described as using ?tricks? to artificially expand the perception of support for a particular message, as well as ?false narratives,? such as headlines and language that ?exploit disagreements.?
  20. Videos are everywhere. We shoot them on our smart phones, share them to social media, messengers and more. Up until now, the only way to share a video to Invision Community was to use a service like YouTube or Vimeo. If you uploaded a video file it would be treated like an attachment, and if the user clicked the link it would download it to their computer. In Invision Community 4.3 we've improved this. Now if you upload a video file (mp4/3gp/mov/ogg/ogv/mpg/mpeg/flv/webm/wmv/avi/m4v), it will embed similarly to an image. Uploading a video When viewing an uploaded video, if it is in a format that the user's browser and platform natively supports, it will show an embedded player. This will have all of the features supported by the operating system - for example, almost all browsers support fullscreen, and Safari supports Airplay and picture in picture. An uploaded video If the video is in a format not supported, it displays exactly as it does now - as a download link. An uploaded video in a browser without playback support for that format

  22. US President Donald Trump speaks after John Kelly was sworn in as White House Chief of Staff in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, US, July 31, 2017. REUTERS/Joshua Roberts/Files LONDON: US President Donald Trump made a rare apology on Friday over his decision to retweet anti-Muslim videos posted by a British far-right group, a move which strained tensions with London. "If you?re telling me they?re horrible racist people, I would certainly apologise if you?d like me to do that," he told ITV?s Good Morning Britain, referring to the group Britain First. Trump sparked outrage in Britain in November with the retweet and drew a public rebuke from Prime Minister Theresa May, to which he replied angrily, souring trans-Atlantic ties. However, the two leaders met in Davos on Thursday where they agreed to press ahead with Trump?s long-planned visit to Britain later this year, and the president was keen to downplay talk of a rift. "The real me is someone who loves Britain, loves the UK, I love Scotland; very special people and a very special place," he said. "I don?t want to cause any difficulty for your country." ?Wasn?t endorsing anybody? Trump retweeted, in quick succession, three videos characterised as showing Islamist violence, at least one of which was found to be misleading. They were posted by Jayda Fransen, the deputy leader of Britain First who was in 2016 convicted of religiously aggravated harassment of a Muslim woman. In the interview, presenter Piers Morgan said the president caused "huge anxiety and anger in my country, because Britain First is basically a bunch of racists, fascists". "Of course I didn?t know that," Trump responded in excerpts of the interview filmed on Thursday and aired on Friday. He said: "I know nothing about them, I know nothing about them today, other than I read a little bit... Certainly I wasn?t endorsing anybody." "I don?t want to be involved with people (like that)," he said, adding: "I am the least racist person that anybody is going to meet." The president, known for his voracious use of Twitter, admitted: "When you do those retweets they can cause problems because you never know who?s doing it to start off with." But he was less apologetic about tweeting the content of the videos, saying he believed they depicted "radical Islamic terror". "Radical Islamic terror, whether you like talking about it or not, you look at what?s going on in the UK, you look at what?s going on all over the world," he said. "It was done because I am a big believer in fighting radical Islamic terror." May said at the time that Trump was "wrong" to send out the tweets, further straining ties after a series of spats between the president and London mayor Sadiq Khan over terrorism. Trump hit back at May on Twitter, saying: "Don?t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!" ?Very good relationship? During their meeting on Thursday, their first since the row, Trump turned to May, saying: "We actually have a very good relationship although a lot of people think we don?t. He said in the interview: "I support her, I support a lot of what she does and I support you militarily very much. We will come to your defence should anything happen." May was the first foreign leader to visit Trump following his inauguration in January last year, where she invited him to make a state visit to Britain, hosted by Queen Elizabeth II. Britain has long touted its "special relationship" with the United States, and is also desperate for a trade deal as it leaves the European Union. The trip has been delayed, however, and in Trump recently pulled out of a plan to open the new US embassy in London, a move British officials blamed on threats of mass protests. Trump said "I don?t care" about the potential protesters, adding: "I think a lot of the people in your country like what I stand for, I do stand for tough borders." Both leaders agreed on Thursday to arrange a visit for later this year, although the White House said it would be a "working visit", suggesting it may not be the pomp-filled trip initially proposed.
  23. YouTube on Tuesday announced ramped-up rules regarding when it will run ads with videos as it scrambled to quell concerns by brands about being paired with troublesome content. Photo: AFP/file SAN FRANCISCO: YouTube on Tuesday announced ramped-up rules regarding when it will run ads with videos as it scrambled to quell concerns by brands about being paired with troublesome content. "There´s no denying 2017 was a difficult year, with several issues affecting our community and our advertising partners," YouTube vice president of display, video and analytics Paul Muret said in a blog post. "The challenges we faced in 2017 have helped us make tough but necessary changes in 2018." Channels at YouTube will need to have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time within the past year to be eligible for ads, according to Muret. Previously, channels could be eligible for ads as part of a YouTube Partner Program by racking up 10,000 views or more. "We want to take channel size, audience engagement, and creator behaviour into consideration to determine eligibility for ads," Muret said. YouTube will closely watch for spam, abuse flags and other signals to make sure channels are remaining within the Google-owned video-sharing platforms policies regarding content, according to the post. Muret said that manual reviews of video will be added to a Google Preferred system that brands use to place ads with popular YouTube content to better vet videos. YouTube is also providing advertisers simpler controls regarding where ads appear and transparency including safety checks by outside parties, according to Muret. The changes were expected to affect "a significant number" of YouTube channels eligible to run ads. YouTube late last year pulled 150,000 videos of children after lewd comments about them were posted by viewers and went public with a vow to greatly increase the ranks of workers focused on rooting out content violating its policies. The moves came as YouTube strived to assure companies their ads would not appear with offensive or inappropriate videos. "We are passionate about protecting our users, advertisers and creators and making sure YouTube is not a place that can be co-opted by bad actors," Muret said. "While we took several steps last year to protect advertisers from inappropriate content, we know we need to do more to ensure that their ads run alongside content that reflects their values."

  25. As if real life sexual harassment accusations weren't enough, someone has found a way to make fake ones as well, kinda. After earning widespread appraisal for her portrayal of 'Wonder Woman', Gal Gadot is making headlines once again, but for all the wrong reasons. And, it's her not fault at all, as well. A fake porn video that apparently shows the actress having *** with her 'stepbrother' is doing the rounds. But, it's not her body, and it's barely even her face. It's just a face-swap that makes it look like she's a part of this incest themed porno. Advancement in technology is great and all, but everything has its drawbacks, and this is a rather horrible one. According to Motherboard, this specific video was created using a machine learning algorithm, along with easily accessible materials and open-source code that anyone with a working knowledge of deep learning algorithms could put together. Sounds really scary, doesn't it? Reportedly, the video was created by a user called Deepfakes, who apparently used an open-source machine learning tools like TensorFlow, which is available on Google for free to researchers, graduate students, and anyone with an interest in machine learning. Even though it's not perfect, as when you look closely, you can see the face doesn't track correctly, but it would fool anyone at first glance. This algorithm can swap a recorded video with real-time face tracking, and it seems like this video is just the beginning of this AI nightmare. This amateur video has worrying implications and soon enough we'll be living in a world where it's extremely easy to fabricate videos of people saying and doing stuff they never actually did. Actually, scratch that, it's not just the beginning; using this face swapping technology, the user Deepfakes has already posted hardcore porn videos featuring the faces of Scarlett Johansson, Maisie Williams, Taylor Swift, and Aubrey Plaza. It's true that Artificial Intelligence(AI) is the future, but it can go wrong, oh so wrong, and these fake porn videos are a prime example. AI researcher Alex Champandard told Motherboard, “Everyone needs to know just how easy it is to fake images and videos, to the point where we won't be able to distinguish forgeries in a few months from now. Of course, this was possible for a long time but it would have taken a lot of resources and professionals in visual effects to pull this off. Now it can be done by a single programmer with recent computer hardware.” He added, “This is no longer rocket science.” © DC Comics Deepfakes is just a programmer with an interest in machine learning, and explained how he did it, “I just found a clever way to do face-swap. With hundreds of face images, I can easily generate millions of distorted images to train the network. After that if I feed the network someone else's face, the network will think it's just another distorted image and try to make it look like the training face.” There is no problem with porn, but these fake videos take away one essential thing from the whole concept – consent. Creating such videos with anyone – not just celebrities – takes away the consent so easily, especially when we live in the age of social media and everyone likes to share everything, and it's as if no one's safe anymore.
