It’s finally time to bid adieu to Ben Affleck especially after the much-awaited trailer for The Batman has finally dropped upon us like the bomb it is going to be. The 2-minute, 45-second trailer that took us back to the dark and gritty lanes of Gotham City, showed our caped crusader deadlier and angrier than ever. Not only is this movie, with Robert Pattinson helming the role of Batman, going to be more violent than it has ever been, but also one thing is clear - this time there is no stopping him. As fans go crazy over the trailer that hints at Batman coming face to face with the iconic DC villain - The Riddler (or so we think), here are a couple of things that we may have been able to decipher from the trailer: 1) “?” = The Riddler © DC Films The trailer starts with a man sitting alone at a diner getting arrested by the Gotham City Police Department and Commissioner Jim Gordon. Although the face of the man is not revealed, what we do see however is a cup of coffee he leaves behind with a “?” in foam. If this would mean anything it is that ‘The Riddler’ is definitely involved this time and getting arrested might just be one of his mysterious ploys. 2) Early Years Of Batman © DC Films The movie is set in the first few years of Bruce Wayne’s crusade as the Batman and that is made clear with the scene where the commissioner is standing next to the bat signal, telling us that by this time he had enough faith in Batman trying to save the city of Gotham. 3) Homemade But Bulletproof Batsuit © DC Films In a scene where Batman can be seen walking through rounds of bullets being shot at him, it is made clear that his suit isn’t just bulletproof but his gauntlets also electrocute people. However, the closeups on Batman’s face reveal the stitched lines around his mask hinting at how even though the suit is good enough to take on an army, it was indeed homemade. 4) “Sins Of My Father” © DC Films In a particular scene in the trailer where Batman is trying to make sense of clues and connect the dots, we are shown a few things scribbled on the floor, of which one read - “Sins of my father”. Does this mean that this movie would force Wayne to look into the past skeletons of his own father? Or is it going to be just another trick by the Riddler to rattle up Batman? 5) He Is Out Of Control © DC Films While in other movies and versions of the caped crusader’s life in Gotham City, the distinction from where Bruce Wayne ended and where Batman started was apparent enough, this time he seems to have gone unhinged. Not only do we see his character saying the words, “it doesn't matter what happens to me," but also his ruthless form makes us wonder if he is truly out of control this time. 6) Bat And The Cat © DC Films With Zoë Kravitz playing the role of Selina Kyle aka Catwoman in the movie, we know from the trailer that the two share a connection because of their troubled pasts. A scene might have hinted at an intimate moment between Batman and the Catwoman next to the bat signal on the roof, however, whether the two indulge in more than fighting for a mission, is something we’re yet to find out. 7) Batmobile © DC Films It may not be as monstrous or high tech as we saw in the previous movies, but not only can the famous batmobile stomach a hit but it can also withstand flying through a sea of fire as shown in the final scene of the trailer, where we see Batman bursting out of an explosion in his fancy car. Both psychopathic and narcissistic behaviours stem from a certain personality and a disorder that makes it difficult for a person to experience empathy, love or even remorse. Keeping that in mind, a study based on the research conducted at Oakland University proved that only someone who has “dark personality traits” such as ‘narcissism, sadism, psychopathy or Machiavellianism, can remain friends with their ex… © Maddock Films A statement that has suddenly put a lot of our thoughts into perspective, making us feel a tad bit too uncomfortable. Almost 861 people were studied for this research, including their romantic histories. And no points for guessing how all those who were depicted to have a set of darker personality traits were also the ones proposing to be friends with their past lovers. Here is why that is: 1. 'Strategic' Relationship © Dharma Productions Experts say that psychopaths often employ what is called the ‘false charm’, to be able to reap benefits from a relationship long after it is over. This may include keeping their ex around for either ***, money or even information. 2. 'Purely Self-Motivated' Actions © Maddock Films Since there is a lack of empathy and remorse, those with such personality traits don’t care for much other than their own selfish interests. The study says their actions are “purely self-motivated”, much like that of a narcissist/psychopath who may ‘not be thinking of the emotional impact of it on the other person’, according to psychologist Dr Paulette Sherman. 3) 'Sense Of Power/Control' © Kunal Kohli Production It is also observed that narcissists hate to fail or lose and are poor at handling rejection. So, in cases where they weren’t the ones to end things, they would want to maintain that line of connection between you and them, just to be able to have some control over you because for them, letting go is not an option.
