  1. Everyone has their quirks which are, for the most part, quite endearing. But, sometimes it gets way too annoying and becomes an easy target for trolls. As we all know, there are only a few things Amitabh Bachchan cares more about than getting the numbering of his tweets right. Why does he need to put the number before every tweet in the first place? Only he knows that, and if it makes him happy, there's no problem, as it's not affecting anyone. View the full article
  2. There was something special about the '90s. Whether it's the nostalgia kicking us in the gut on a particularly difficult day, or simply a glimpse of the nonsensical madness going on in TV sets today, a walk down the memory lane to the '90s always seems special. © Youtube/Dabangg TV Sudesh Berry as CID Inspector Bharat was absolutely on point with his investigations, as well as his outfits - with sharp suits and other well-tailored apparel. © Balaji Telefilms The protagonist of this unique horror/drama/comedy show was a friendly ghost. Narendra Jha, with his extremely handsome and stylish self, even in that black and white uniform, managed to impress us as the dead but super fashionable Captain without breaking a sweat. (Do ghosts sweat though?) © Youtube/Doordarshan Classics & Movies A Mouthful Of Sky was the first serial in English to be produced in India. If one wants to experience how serials in the '90s were way ahead of today's shows in terms of quality as well as execution, they need to check this out. Milind Soman, Rahul Bose, and Samir Soni gave us style as well as demeanour goals through this one, way before we knew what 'cool' meant. © Youtube/DD Classics Who doesn't remember idolizing Milind Soman as the super strong and charming Captain Vyom? Sure, the costumes were a little amateurish, but it was 22 years ago - and even then Milind made it look like a million bucks with that physique. Good old days! © DDClassic Blogspot Not only was Dekh Bhai Dekh one of the most entertaining shows DD has ever produced, the entire cast was fashionably aware, with a sense of quirk along with their sense of humour. What we won't give to get back those days of relatable fashion! View the full article
  3. There’s a common misconception in the glamorous world of Bollywood that once an actor ties the knot, the perception of their ‘demand’ on the screen changes. However, there are some actors who didn’t really have to choose between their career and love, as their commitment towards both was equal. Here are 5 actors who decided to get married and settle down, long before they became superstars: 1. Shah Rukh Khan © BCCL The life story of Bollywood's King Khan is no less than a full-blown movie in itself. The actor landed in Mumbai with eyes full of dreams and a big heart filled with love for cinema, and right there next to him was his beloved wife Gauri. The pair have talked about their story in numerous interviews, about their struggle as a young married couple trying to earn a living in Mumbai, which is nothing but inspiring. SRK became a big star long after he was already married to the real star of his life. 2. Saif Ali Khan © MSN Back in the day, everyone was already set on the ‘Nawab’ of Bollywood chasing his passion, money and work in the early stage of his career, however, Saif surprised everyone when he decided to chase true love instead. He got the entire tinsel town buzzing after he got married to Amrita Singh, who was a very successful actress at the time and also older than him. He, eventually, hit stardom years after they were married and had children. While their marriage sadly ended in 2004, people still talk about Saif's rather radical decision to this day. 3. Anil Kapoor © Instagram The Benjamin Button of the film industry has never shied away from confessing his undying love for his wife Sunita Kapoor. He openly proclaims how he had to woo her, earn money and prayed that one day he was eligible to be chosen by her. After being together for over 3 decades, this couple continues to inspire everyone to believe in true love. 4. Ayushmann Khurrana © Instagram The Chandigarh boy who took Mumbai by storm was already smitten by his childhood sweetheart Tahira Kashyap, long before he even decided to become an actor, let alone a superstar. One of the most beautiful couples of Bollywood, they are pure relationship goals for millennials. 5. Aamir Khan © BCCL Aamir had a fairytale romance with his ex-wife Reena long before he played a romantic hero in any of his movies. The couple enjoyed amazing wedding bliss for over 16 years before parting ways in 2002, but they are cordial till date. View the full article
  4. Do you almost always have a mini anxiety attack when you're putting in your card details to buy something online, or do you just do it without a care in the world? With the scope of fraud in online shopping having increased so much, the hesitation is quite natural and sometimes even spot on, and the story of Manjunath N is a perfect example of that fear. Basically, he got duped out of Rs 5,000 while trying to buy a phone on OLX and well, being wronged like that can make people switch over to the dark side, sometimes. So, naturally, he decided to use the same trick to defraud other people and ended up bringing in lakhs of rupees that way. © UTV Motion Pictures After being a victim and the perpetrator of online fraud, it does feel like he got his own villain origin story. Working as a flower seller in Bengaluru, he lost his job and source of income due to the pandemic. And, that's why he turned to online scams to earn money. You can almost feel some sympathy for him, almost. But of course, his actions were illegal, and well, he was been caught by the police after one of his victims filed a complaint. © UTV Motion Pictures The victim, named Dhanush D of Chikkallasandra, thought he was buying a second hand Hyundai Verna car after seeing the ad on OLX, but after he bought it for Rs 4.5 lakh, our guy Manjunath here just ghosted him. Reportedly, he robbed people in Tilaknagar, KR Puram, Nelamangala, Nayandahalli, and Mysuru. After he was caught, cops seized valuables worth Rs 9 lakh, including gold, a car, two-wheelers, a watch, and cash, from him. View the full article
  5. We’ve been featuring quite a few phones from the past but nobody can forget the great megapixel war amongst phone companies at the time. Phone companies tried to outdo each other with the camera on their phones and would boast about how many megapixels they had over each other. While this was simply marketing jargon at the time, there were some incredible camera phones that launched in the 2000s which directly led to innovation in smartphone cameras today. Smartphones have now replaced digital handheld cameras but the revolution started a long time ago and here are some of our favourite camera phones from the past that we still consider iconic: 1. Nokia N90 © Wikipedia Commons Back in 2005, camcorders were a big deal and Nokia designed a phone that looked very similar to handheld recording devices. The Nokia N90 launched in the same year for having a very unique design where the screen could rotate. This rotating screen also helped in capturing images from its 2MP camera lens made by Carl Zeiss optics. The phone had its autofocus feature and an LED flash which made this phone very revolutionary for its time. 2. Sony Ericsson K750i © Flickr/Claudio Montes Before the Nokia N90, Sony Ericsson K750i was considered one of the best camera phones that Nokia tried to compete with using the N99. It had a solid 2MO camera and dual-LED flash which was unheard of at the time. The phone boasted 9 hours of talk time and had a memory card slot for storing images. The phone also had a dedicated lens slider, a feature Sony borrowed from their Cyber-Shot cameras. 3. Nokia N95 © Flickr/NRKBeta Nokia N95 was the first 5-megapixel camera phone from the company that was considered a marvel in 2007. The phone used a Carl Zeiss lens and was capable of recording video at 30 frames per second. In fact, the 5-megapixel camera lens became a standard after the launch of the Nokia N95. However, the smartphone world changed as the first iPhone was launched a few months later with a 2MP camera, even though it did not have any autofocus or video capture capabilities. 4. Sony Ericsson K800i or K790 © OLX A follow up to the K750i, the K800i was launched in 2006 with a 3.2-megapixel camera lens and dominated the phone market for taking incredible pictures and for its “BestPic” feature. We use these features on smartphones today where the phone takes multiple snapshots of a subject in quick succession and allows you to choose the best shot. This feature was first introduced in 2006 with the Sony Ericsson K800i and the K790. The phone also had autofocus capabilities, 32X zoo, a Shutter button, red-eye reduction feature and a Memory Stick Micro slot to store images and music. 5. Samsung INNOV8 © Flickr/James Nash Right after the first iPhone launch, Samsung launched the i8510 or INNOV8 which was the first phone in the world to feature an 8Mp camera. While the phone could take great pictures, the phone didn’t really sell well since Samsung decided to copy the Nokia N series instead of the iPhone. The phone used a lens from Schneider-Kreuznach optics that had the ability to take auto-panorama shots. The phone could detect a face, smile and blinks which is quite impressive for the time. So, that’s our list of five phones from the 2000s that came with an incredible camera, however, your list may look different from ours and we would love to know your list of old phones that had incredible cameras according to your opinion. Let us know in the comments. View the full article
  6. After Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot and Batman actor Ben Affleck joined the DC Comics fans’ movement to force the Warner Bros. to release the Zack Snyder version of the highly-criticised Justice League we got in 2017, and the studio finally released a full trailer of the cut and it definitely looks a lot better than the original. #ReleaseTheSnyderCut pic.twitter.com/wssMmlPqEK — Gal Gadot (@GalGadot) November 17, 2019 Here are five major takeaways from the 2-minute 42-second clip that instantly captured our attention (SPOILERS AHEAD): 1. Bruce Wayne’s ‘Knightmare’ Comes True © Warner Bros - YouTube Snyder had plans of making a total of three Justice League films and had envisioned our heroes losing the battle to Darkseid in the first one. This is why he added the much-talked-about and confusing ‘Knightmare’ in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was completely forgotten in Justice League when it came out. According to the first few frames of the trailer, the Synder cut is looking to revisit the director’s idea and eventually, turn Bruce Wayne’s nightmare into reality. 2. Cyborg’s Football Match & Accident © Warner Bros - YouTube The thing Snyder was most excited about while releasing his version of the film was his freedom to develop Cyborg’s character. According to the trailer, we might be able to see Victor Stone’s football match that he wins before getting in a car crash that kills his mother and him. Later, Victor’s father resurrects him with the help of the mother box as the original story shows (although a few minor details may have been changed). 3. Superman’s Black Suit © Warner Bros - YouTube Snyder wished to introduce Superman’s black suit in Justice League but after Joss Whedon took over, he thought it would have been too dark for the movie and instead, made the Man of Steel return to his blue and red costume. Zack later announced that he was gunning for the black suit because it allowed the Kryptonian to absorb the radiation of the sun (where his powers come from) more vigorously. 4. Flash Saves Iris West © Warner Bros - YouTube While Flash got a decent introduction in Justice League, Snyder wished to do so with some more details and wanted to make Barry Allen’s love interest, Iris West debut in the movie. Iris’ scenes were removed from the Whedon cut as the director believed it wouldn’t add a lot of weightage to the movie’s story. Zack, on the other hand, wished to introduce and establish her as a proper character for the independent Flash movie in 2022. 5. The Cosmic Treadmill © Warner Bros - YouTube One final thing that we might have seen during the final seconds of the trailer was the DCEU’s rendition of Flash’s Cosmic Treadmill that he uses to travel through time (Snyder had teased the fans about the introduction of the device in his version of the movie). This would also answer how Flash was able to travel back in time to warn Wayne about the possibility of the global destruction at the hands of Darkseid. View the full article
  7. Be it fashion or grooming, Ranveer Singh is extra AF. This is becoming a universal truth, no matter what you believe. Quirky hairstyles, OTT outfits, ensembles that someone would wear only on a dare - these have been routine for Ranveer. And might we add, Ranveer does pull them off with swagger. © Instagram/ranveersingh As far as fashion is concerned, Ranveer’s competitor from the west would be someone like Jared Leto, or Billie Porter for that matter. However, in terms of grooming, it has always been the former One Direction star, Zayn Malik. © Reuters Why, you ask? Well, in case you haven’t stalked both of them on Instagram, you wouldn’t know that both of them redefine the meaning of going overboard when it comes to grooming. Thick, heavyset kohl, crazy experiments with hair and beards - these are just some of the stuff that they have tried out. Here are 4 Instances when Ranveer trumped Zayn, and out-groomed the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker. Wearing Kajal/Kohl In Public © Viral Bhayani If your grandma often put kohl under your eyes when you were a child, you’re not alone. However, if you’ve actually stepped out of your house, with a layer of thick, but properly applied kohl under your eyes, you are confident on a whole new level. As for Zayn, although we really appreciate a major star like him normalising cosmetics and makeup. But here, Ranveer takes the cake. © Instagram/zayn Pulling Off A Traditional Quiff © Instagram/ranveersingh Well if you had assumed that after all those years of being energised and charged up like nothing else, Ranveer wouldn’t know how to pull off a basic quiff, well you certainly aren’t aware of his skill as a master of disguise that he is. When Zayn decided to go for a quiff, it was cool. Just not as cool as Ranveer. © Instagram/zayn Shaving Their Heads Off © Instagram/ranveersingh If you’re going to shave your head off, you better have a solid beard and stache game going. Human beings look very weird without any hair above their necks. We have often seen Zayn with a shaved head, and sporting a stubble instead. However, you ought to have a well-set beard, or a thick moustache or some sort of facial hair to offset the balance, especially when you have a thin face. © Reuters Going Bonkers Crazy With His Hairstyle © Instagram/ranveersingh And Finally, we have this gem. Of course, Ranveer is using some hiar extensions, but he has had to braid his hair as well for the extensions to work. Now that’s a bonkers style to go for. And here are 3 Instances When Zayn had Ranveer by the ropes. Unkempt long hair © Instagram/zayn This right here is the reason why we suggest you stalk Zayn on Instagram. Seriously, this is the best personification of a devil may care attitude that we have ever seen on anyone. Ranveer though, not so much. The point clearly goes to Zayn. © Instagram/ranveersingh Dyed Hair © Instagram/zayn Ranveer has had dyed his hair a few times, mainly for commercials and films, but nothing, and we seriously mean nothing, can even possibly come close to what Zayn has had done to his hair. The Ponytail © Instagram/ranveersingh And finally, there is the ponytail. Throughout his musical career, Zayn has experimented with a number of different styles of ponytails. Needless to say, he knows which ones work, and when your hair is best left open. Ranveer’s version of the short ponytail was a disaster and looked comical at best. Still, we love that he at least tried something different and befitting for an outfit that was all out bonkers. © Instagram/ranveersingh Say what you will about the two though, they are visionaries when it comes to creating statements out of their grooming choices. 8. The journey of weight loss can be difficult. A lot of people have talked about how despite sticking to a strict diet and a regular workout plan, they have stopped shedding the kilos. A basic principle of weight loss is being in a caloric deficit, which means that if you burn more calories than you consume in a day, you are bound to lose weight. © iStock But what a lot of us fail to realise is exactly how many calories we are putting in our body while eating three courses a day, and also munching on snacks in between. People often presume that they are eating smaller portions, however, the reality is often quite different. One of the most incredible fitness transformations was seen by the captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli. © Reuters Kohli not only moved away from unhealthy eating habits such as consuming a lot of junk but also brought about a significant change in his workout routine. He gives a lot of credit to weight training and strength building for attaining the shape of his life. However, one of his biggest secrets was revealed by his wife and actress Anushka Sharma when she recently shared how the cricketer follows “measured eating”. © Instagram/Anushkha Sharma How Can Weighing & Measuring Your Food Help? © iStock One of the biggest reasons for hitting a weight-loss plateau is the illusion of eating less than you actually are. 9. A pregnant wild elephant originally belonging to Silent Valley National Park (SVNP), Palakkad, met with a tragic death after she ate a pineapple packed with firecrackers inside meant to eradicate local boars, earlier this week. In a gut-wrenching video that troubled animal lovers all over, the incident was brought to light by Mohan Krishnan, Section Forest Officer, Nilambur, on his Facebook page. The post has since become viral with more than 1,200 shares, and has continued to gain traction online. Remaining calm through what must have been excruciating pain, the elephant retreated to a nearby river to help soothe her burned digestive tract, before succumbing to her injuries. Dr David Abraham, Assistant Forest Veterinary Officer, Thrissur, who did the postmortem, told The New Indian Express that on first observation itself it was clear that the elephant would not survive. The forest officials wanted to euthanize the elephant which was in severe agony. But unfortunately, the message from the top echelons of the forest department was to return it back to the SVNP. Regrettably, the tragic incident was picked up by several politically motivated users on Twitter, and used as ammunition to rouse communal disharmony and attack the ruling government of Kerala - which happens to be one of the major anti-establishment cabinets in the country. View this post on InstagramI am glad you are all talking about justice for the pregnant elephant who died after being fed fire cracker- stuffed fruit. It should be condemned. However, in the struggle for staying relevant and be in the news, we would also appreciate a little fact checking because, doling out opinions about everything that happens or doesnât is dangerous, worst of all, giving it a religious angle. And also, where were you all when the country was in flames few months back.. during JNU and anti CAA protests. Noone even raised an eyebrow back then. Those very privileged Indians are now crying about racism in US, they were completely silent when religious fanatics killed minorities in India in the name of religion and race. Come to think of it, our country witnessed racism like never before in the last few months and everyone was tightlipped. Selective solidarity does not matter, shut up! Get up stand up Stand up for your right.... 'Bob Marley' #getup #standup #standupforyourrightA post shared by (@shanishaki) In the above post by prominent fashion photographer Shani Shaki, the visual artist highlighted how interest groups have picked up the elephant issue and used it as a way to target minorities in the state. It began with several posts insinuating that the elephant was killed in Muslim majority district Malappuram, even though the incident happened in the Mannarkkad division of Palakkad district, which is nearly 100 kilometres away. Even Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar either fell for or supported this false narrative - while simultaneously having helped pass environmentally-unfriendly legislation during his term with the BJP government. Central Government has taken a very serious note of the killing of an elephant in Mallapuram, #Kerala. We will not leave any stone unturned to investigate properly and nab the culprit(s). This is not an Indian culture to feed fire crackers and kill.@moefcc @PIB_India @PIBHindi â Prakash Javadekar (@PrakashJavdekar) June 4, 2020 Similarly, activist and BJP MP Maneka Gandhi followed suit, naming the wrong district as âIndiaâs most violentâ district. It's murder,Malappuram is famous for such incidents, it's India's most violent district. For instance, they throw poison on roads so that 300-400 birds & dogs die at one time: Maneka Gandhi,BJP MP&animal rights activist on elephant's death after being fed cracker-stuffed pineapple pic.twitter.com/OtLHsuiuAq â ANI (@ANI) June 3, 2020 Soon after these statements, K. Sunil Kumar, Divisional Forest Office, Mannarkkad confirmed that the incident had nothing to do with the area under question. "The elephant was found dead in a forest area in the Mannarkkad division of Palakkad district. Such incidents have happened in the past but we have taken all steps to prevent them,â he said to The Quint. Meanwhile, dozens of communally charged posts flew up on social media. Between left and right, Hindu and Muslim humanity is nowhere to be seen. Can't believe young Indians have lost the capacity to think beyond divisive propaganda. An Elephant lost her life due to some monster and the lady is busy peddling Hindu-Muslim theory.#India #ElephantDeath pic.twitter.com/1qC7oNbxYz â Durgesh (@DurgeshAgrahari) June 3, 2020 Malayalam film actress Parvathy Thiruvothu also put a foot in the door of these hatemongering tweets, exposing how sentiment towards animals was redirected towards cementing political goals. Just how you jump at an opportunity to make this an anti-Muslim, hate campaign is astonishing. Focus on the problem. ANIMALS ARE IN DANGER BECAUSE OF CRUEL EXPLOSIVE SNARES. Talk about the actual issue here! â Parvathy Thiruvothu (@parvatweets) June 3, 2020 Others explained how the negative posts were part of a âdefamationâ strategy against the state of Kerala. The IT cell instruction is to hype any negative news from Kerala by adding keywords, communist and leftist, to whatever crap they tweet. No understanding or fact checking is done. It is just an online defamation campaign against Kerala. â Raj (@trilobite_1970) June 4, 2020Despite attempts to pull down the state, Kerala has been - not just across education metrics, but also as a forerunner in executing COVID-19 strategies during the worldwide pandemic. 11. Early this Sunday, Mumbaiâs Nair hospital experienced nothing short of a Mother's Day miracle. After being turned down by seven hospitals, an expectant mother was taken in by Dr Ganesh Shinde of Nairâs Gynaecology department, where despite having tested positive for COVID-19, she delivered a set of healthy triplets - each of whom tested negative for the deadly virus. Itâs not too much of a stretch to say that sheâs been through one of the most dire 24-hours of her life this weekend, but if thereâs a Motherâs Day message to take home from here, itâs this: There is nothing more difficult on this Earth than being a mother. Being A Mother Is A Full-Time Job via GIPHY I think we all deserve some slack for not realising this as children. After being asked countless times about our ambitions and plans for the future, many of us wanted to grow up as soon as possible - no more rules to follow? That sure sounded great back then. And so, as we grew older into our teenage years, we threw ourselves into friendships, relationships and personal interests that came and went - all with the hope that we wouldnât grow old with regrets. All while our mothers stood by our sides and dealt with our mood swings, our avoidant behaviour and tendency to jump the nest. © Trimurti Films While we make progress on the front of women's rights inch by inch every day, itâs only been just over seventy years since the first womenâs rights movement marched onward in the western world - just a blink in the eye of human history. When our mothers were growing up in the late 20th century, many of them had to fight against social pressures the likes of which we take for granted today - especially as men. Having a child as an Indian woman came with many expectations that remain invisible to us today, especially if weâre not actively looking for them. Our mothers have sacrificed so much in the name of raising us - everything from career opportunities as working women to late nights and early mornings spent on household chores and family expectations. Not Just A Mom, But A Friend Too © Hope Productions Thatâs why, perhaps this Motherâs Day, when weâre socially distanced and donât have the means to produce grand gestures or expensive gifts, perhaps the most important thing we can give our mothers is the chance to open up. To have a tougher, but more honest conversation about the realities theyâve faced and the sacrifices theyâve had to make. One that they could not have with a young child by their side, but can definitely have with an older, matured one who also isnât just a son or daughter - but a friend to lean on as well. 13. Beginning with the initial outbreak in China, the current crisis in Italy and subsequently, throughout the world, doctors and nurses in all departments were told they may have to start working in emergency rooms and intensive care units, a directive that sent shock waves through the medical community. Doctors and health workers across the world are giving up time with their loved ones to help keep ours safe and well. They have a simple request for all their hard work in combating #coronavirus ...#socialdistancing #stayathome #stayhomeforus #COVID2019AU #medtwitter pic.twitter.com/z9EUsiYnvs â AMA Media (@ama_media) March 19, 2020 As demands ramp up with the number of cases inching closer to 300,000, itâs sobering to realise how crucial the role of medical personnel are in society. An estimated 10-15 million doctors practice across the globe, and their counterparts in some of the worldâs more flashy, glamorous job titles receive compensation thatâs quite simply absurd - given the need of the hour. Weâre taking a closer look at the income disparities doctors have to face in four hotspots where the virusâ physical and social presence has made massive changes - India, China, Italy and the United States. Hereâs what we find: 1. Social Media Influencers © Reuters Thereâs no avoiding it - social media influencers have taken over their respective platforms in the last 10years, and their incomes have also exponentially exploded in return. Perhaps the most obvious and popular example is Kylie Jenner from the Kardashian dynasty - the âyoungest self-made billionaireâ rakes in $180 million per year according to Forbes. In case youâre wondering how much she earns compared to her counterparts, most of them are in med-school - the young celebrity is just 22 years old. © Reuters Meanwhile in India and China, while thereâs no shortage of influencers across films, music and fashion plying their trade, the emergence of Chinese-owned TikTok has spread the influencer bug much deeper into Indian cities and towns, amassing over 120 million users. Mr. Faisu, who we interviewed earlier in December, had close to 20 million followers before being hit with a ban for political content - a fanbase that allows him to earn an estimated 30-40 lakhs per annum. Thatâs about twice as much as that of a specialised cardiologist in India. 2. CEOs © Reuters It all starts from the top, of course - most of the worldâs richest people are helming global corporations with thousands of employees. In the case of India and the United States, things already seem severely tilted, with both nations topping the ranks for CEO to the average worker ratio. Reliance mogul Mukesh Ambani earns a staggering 48 times more than the average Indian doctor, not even counting stocks and a diverse portfolio of earnings. © Reuters When it comes to the US, things are clearer. Amazonâs Jeff Bezos makes about 14 times more than the average, fully-qualified doctor, not counting for his 16% stake in the company. Bring that into the picture, however, and Bezos earns an astounding 6 lakh times more. 3. Athletes © Reuters According to estimates, the worldâs sports industries make up close to $500 billion - no doubt supported by the tireless athletic and marketing efforts of the worldâs biggest athletes. Italy has been a key nation behind the dominance of football in sports today - most of the teams in Serie A pay their players between 4 to 1 million US dollars a year. Juventus, in particular, pays over twice of that with an average of 10 million, but what about Ronaldo? The legendary player pulled in a whopping $108 million in 2019 when combining both his winnings, earnings and endorsements - 805 times that of an average Italian dottore. © Reuters Things arenât that different in China - the epicentre of the worldâs viral crisis, that has major income disparity as well. The Chinese Super League attracts worldwide talent to play for its teams and the economic powerhouse pays its players around $1 million annually - around 250 times that of the Chinese average salary. Bring doctors into the mix along with the leagueâs wealthiest player, Brazilâs Oscar, and his heavy $25 million earnings tower in comparison to the $13,000 that Chinese docs take home each year. Thatâs a ratio of nearly 1:2000. © Reuters Leaving aside football, India (until recent years, perhaps) has considered sports synonymous with cricket, and on that spreadsheet, no one dominates the competition quite like skipper Virat Kohli. While the average IPL player nets around $5 million annually, the Indian captain pulls in $25 million per annum - making his bank accounts fill over 3000 times faster than most Indian doctors. 4. Filmstars © Reuters Unsurprisingly, both India and the United States have points to make here, with them both running the two most successful film industries in the world. Artists, in general, see great variation in income - while struggling actors make extremely irregular annual incomes, things are very different at the other end. Dwayne âThe Rockâ Johnson sits at the peak here, raking in close to $90 million a year. The top ten ranges anywhere from that figure to Will Smithâs $35 million, making them earn between 900 to 350 times the average American doc. © Reuters In India, the difference is truly astounding. Akshay Kumar, who also happened to be the 4th most paid actor in the world last year, raked in $65 million - close to 6.5 thousand times an Indian doctorâs takeaway even in major cities such as Mumbai. 5. Politicians © Reuters Well, at least for the other three you have the benefit of saying theyâve earned their worth - nailing down the exact incomes of politicians turns out to be an understandably difficult affair. In the United States, Donald Trump entered the presidency as the only billionaire in US Presidential history - in 2019, the POTUS raked in somewhere over half a billion dollars, making him at least four thousand times richer than the average doctor in the US. © Reuters In India, however, expecting a straight annual income figure for politicians is naive. On paper, for example, PM Narendra Modi, for example, has a salary of around $30,000 per annum - less than the average tier-1 city specialist earns. If we look at the scale of major scams led by any of the many corrupt positions in our government over the years, things seem to feel a lot bleaker. Take the mid-2010s Coalgate scam, which cost the nation $33.33 billion, close to 10% the net worth of Indiaâs entire healthcare industry - thereâs no shortage of reasons to raise eyebrows at the earnings of Indian politicians. While all these professions have their place in the society, the current pandemic is a wake-up call for many to remember just how much time, attention and money is diverted towards not so essential figures in the society. Hopefully after the crisis is averted, governments and regulatory bodies will step in to ensure that the invaluable service given by the worldâs medical professionals gets the recognition it deserves. 21. When it comes to smartwatches, the Apple Watch is leading the race in the wearable space. However, OPPO has been wanting to launch a smartwatch of their own and today we got to see our very first glimpse of the Chinese companyâs smartwatch. Vice President for OPPO shared an image of the first render that the company will be launching soon. Whatâs striking is that you may have mistaken it for the Apple Watch. The image was shared on Chinese social media website Weibo and we get a clear look at the upcoming smartwatch. © MensXP From afar, the smartwatch looks awfully similar to the Apple Watch Series 4 or 5 as it has the same curved edges and even has an identical watch face used in marketing materials. If you look closely at the strap, it looks similar to the silicone strap you get with the Apple Watch. © OPPO/Weibo However, there is one slight difference in OPPOâs smartwatch from the Apple Watch, instead of the digital crown on the right side of the smartwatch, it has been substituted with another button. We can only see one side of the smartwatch so it isnât entirely sure whether OPPOâs smartwatch uses a digital crown as well on the other side of the chassis. If you look closely, there is a hole between the buttons that might be for a microphone. This microphone can be used for talking over calls however we donât know whether the watch will be capable of supporting independent LTE connections like the Apple Watch. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla There is a good chance that OPPO might unveil the smartwatch at Mobile World Conference that is set to take place in a few weeks. It could be possible that the smartwatch will be available to buy on March 6th as the render says 'Fri 06' and the next Friday to fall of the sixth of the month is in March. What do you think of OPPOâs new smartwatch? Do you think it resembles the Apple Watch too much? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article

  24. We sometimes find many relationship habits unhealthy and try to quit it, though some habits just make our lives and relationships easier. Being in a toxic relationship is not a good idea but falsely accusing your relationship as being toxic is also a dumb thing to do. We are not asking you to stay in a relationship if you're unhappy but at times we need to find the thin line between toxic and 'tolerable'. So, here is a list of five habits in a relationship that we think are toxic but will actually help your relationship go a long way- 1. Letting Go Of Conflicts At Times © Dharma Productions People focus on resolving every argument when in a relationship but at times it's healthier to let go of some fights. Some conflicts are un-resolvable and fighting upon them are only going to make things worse. So, just keep in mind that some battles are not worth fighting for and save your relationship by avoiding conflicts. 2. Feeling Attracted To Other People © Dharma Productions We want to be attracted to our partner all the time but that's biologically not possible. You need to accept that you might feel attracted to other people and that's okay. It doesn't mean that you're falling out of love with your partner but just admire someone else apart from them for their qualities. Acting upon our attraction or liking is in our hand and our actions are responsible for making or breaking a relationship, as attractions are mostly temporary and love is real. 3. Spending Time Apart © Dharma Productions It's always better to do what you want to do rather than focusing on your partner all the time. Valuing your relationship is important but moving ahead in your life and fulfilling your dreams is equally important. It's important to give space in a relationship as it only makes the bond stronger. Spending time apart also makes you regain the lost spark in a relationship. 4. Accepting Each Other's Flaws © Dharma Productions No one is perfect and as soon as we accept each other's flaws the better the relationship is going to be. You need to like and accept each other for who they are then decide for yourself if you really want to be with them. Somewhere or the other we have to settle as no human being is perfect. 5. Unintentionally Hurting Each Other © Dharma Productions When in a relationship, we do things at times that the other person might not like or get hurt due to it. Sometimes they get hurt and sometimes we get hurt. The bottomline is to not pretend that you're happy and express if you're hurt as it is okay to be hurt. Your honest opinion is only going to make things easier for both of you. View the full article
