  5. We've been on a little journey together since we announced the first Invision Community 4.5 feature way back in November 2019. The first feature we announced was a revamped Admin Control Panel interface which created more visual space and brightened it up. Actually, we made it so bright that the first feature request was to add a dark mode (which we did). In the space of three short months, we had spoken about Club improvements, invites and referrals, RSS feed improvements, blog categories, the simple stock photo picker, search insights, security enhancements, user interface updates, new statistic views, and notification improvements. Most will agree that March and April seemed to last months, thanks to a global pandemic. We used these extra days to talk about marking posts as a solution, topic view summary, Zapier integration, forum view updates, post-installation onboarding, private staff notes, page builder widgets, theme designer improvements, a new default theme, language system updates and everything else we missed. We have also revamped the front end user interface to modernise the look and feel but also to introduce new CSS frameworks, variables and other time-saving features our design team have been eager to implement. On the subject of modernisation, we've deprecated some legacy functionality. We've given up trying to make anything look good with IE11 which last saw an update in 2013. We've also deprecated older caching engines like Memcache, APC and Wincache and recommend using Redis instead. The web hosting and domain management features of Commerce are also deprecated as is BBCode. BBCode has its roots in the earliest bulletin-board systems long before rich text editors were common use. It's 2020; we should no longer be asked to type in special codes in square brackets to format text. BBCode is still functional in Invision Community 4.5, but it is likely to be removed in a future version. Now that primary development has finished, we move onto the beta testing stage. This is where you get to try it out and evaluate the new features before scheduling your own upgrades. As always, we do recommend that you only test early betas on staging sites or simple test sites. Many a weekend has been ruined by over-enthusiastic upgrading of live sites; so we don't recommend that. You'll also notice that we're running Invision Community 4.5 on our own site. If you do spot an issue, please let us know in the bug tracker. I've been creating and releasing products for close to twenty years now, and I still get a real buzz out of hitting the release button. It's always a pleasure to see the result of hundreds of hours of coding, dozens of meetings and numerous passionate exchanges among the team. You can access the beta in your client area. We hope you enjoy Invision Community 4.5!
  6. Words fall short to praise all the front line workers who are displaying unflinching courage and grit to battle the outbreak of deadly coronavirus that has wreaked havoc across the globe. While we are sitting at the comfort of our homes, they are out there in the field to help the citizens during this difficult time. Oftentimes, while trying to ensure othersâ safety, they end up being at the other end of the spectrum. In a similar situation, one of the Mumbai cops got infected with this deadly virus while on duty. However, the good news is that the brave officer has returned to work after successfully combating coronavirus. Mumbai police recently took to their Twitter handle to share this news with the caption that read, âWelcome back, hero!â The cop is a member of the Kurla Police Station and the video shows him walking inside the office premise as his colleagues and other people cheerfully clap for him. They also shower flower petals to give him a heroâs welcome. Well, thatâs truly deserving, considered thatâs the least we could do for these heroes! The department wrote that he is a #COVIDConqueror who returned to duty after beating the virus to serve the city they love most. Receiving a heroâs welcome! 7. Owing to the Coronavirus lockdown, Doordarshan decided to give us a nostalgia trip with shows like Ramayan and Mahabharat. Millennials welcomed the shows in a typical digital style by heaping praises on Twitter and appreciated the actors for giving such brilliant performances. From Arun Govil as Lord Ram to Arvind Trivedi as Ravan, people are impressed with these actors as they made Ramayan look as real as it could be. Today, Ravan has been trending on Twitter and when I checked the trend, I found out that Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravan in Ramayan has finally made his debut on Twitter. Yes, on April 18, the actor joined the microblogging site. In the morning, fans started trending #RavanOnTwitter. © Arvind Trivedi/Twitter Keeping up with the millennial spirit, people welcomed Ravan with memes instead of garlands or aarti. They shared some hilarious memes that might leave you in splits. #RavanOnTwitter **After Joining Twitter. 8. At this point in time, we've all probably heard and in fact, grown a strong sense of loathing for Chinese wet markets, notoriously infamous for selling bats, pangolins and a lot of other animals as livestock. However, in a recent turn of events, China has decided to stop slaughtering millions of dogs for meat. China reclassifies dogs as pets, not livestock, in post-virus regulatory push https://t.co/gquUfstNem pic.twitter.com/oB84yUanY2 — Reuters (@Reuters) April 9, 2020 Dog meat has infamously been a delicacy in China, however, earlier this month, the Chinese city of Schenzen had banned dog meat. In fact, the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of China has rejigged the guidelines for 18 animals that were earlier classified as livestock including cattle, pigs, poultry and camels. “As far as dogs are concerned, along with the progress of human civilization and the public concern and love for animal protection, dogs have been 'specialized' to become companion animals, and internationally are not considered to be livestock, and they will not be regulated as livestock in China,” the notice said. © Reuters Moreover, 13 more animals have also been identified as special species which exempts them from being involved in wild animal trading, including reindeer, alpaca, pheasants, ostriches and foxes. Following the coronavirus outbreak that is supposed to have originated from horseshoe bats, China had banned the breeding, trading and consumption of wildlife, and revoked all existing licenses. In fact, it has also promised to look into it and make the ban permanent after the pandemic is over. 10 million dogs are killed in a year in China for meat and this also includes stolen pets. Needless to say, everyone from across the world has hailed the move, while some just couldn't miss the opportunity to take digs at China for being so late in alleviating such regressive norms. 9. US President Donald Trump arrived in Ahmedabad today with his wife Melania Trump on his maiden visit to the country. The government has left no stone unturned to make this event as massive as the landmark âHowdy, Modi!â event hosted by the Indian-American community in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Houston in September 2019. In the wake of this massive event, a chef and food artist from Chennai prepared massive idlis as a welcome gesture for the US President and as a tribute to PM Modi. © ANI According to a news report in ANI, Iniavan, the food artist, has prepared the massive idlis with pictures of Trump, PM Modi and the India-US flag sculpted on them. Now, the beautiful idlis are a testimony to the fact that we believe in treating our guests like God. © Twitter/Narendra Modi The ANI report suggests that the three idlis weigh around a whopping 107 kilograms and it took the chef around thirty-six hours to prepare them, along with the help of six other workers. Also, we could see the excitement in PM Modiâs tweet welcoming Trump. India looks forward to welcoming @POTUS @realDonaldTrump. It is an honour that he will be with us tomorrow, starting with the historic programme in Ahmedabad! https://t.co/fAVx9OUu1j â Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) February 23, 2020 PM Modi and Trumpâs friendship got stronger last year during the formerâs US tour and since then both have been very supportive of each other in public and on social media as well. Trumpâs maiden visit to the country is primarily focused on strengthening the ties between the two countries. Earlier today, PM Modi received Trump at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhai Patel International airport. Trump is also accompanied by daughter Ivanka, son-in-law Jared Kushner and top brass of his administration. © Twitter/Narendra Modi Apart from this, around Rs. 80-85 crore is expected to be spent and almost half the budget is going solely towards security arrangements for the US President. Around 10,000 police personnel and 25 IPS officers, 65 ACPs, 200 police inspectors and 800 sub-inspectors have been deployed for Trumpâs security arrangements. View the full article
  10. On US President Donald Trumpâs visit to India, around Rs. 80-85 crore is expected to be spent and almost half the budget is going solely towards security arrangements. Despite the heavy security arrangements, five langurs have also been deployed on the route of Trumpâs procession to keep him away from the monkey ruckus in Agra. The government has also undergone many vigorous steps for the country's beautification to welcome Trump and its attempt to build up a wall in Ahmedabad, to keep aside a stretch of people, has only left people on social media "heart broken". The âgreat wallâ has been built alongside the road connecting the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport to Indira Bridge in Ahmedabad where the "biggest road show" is set to take place today. The main objective behind the wall is to hide more than 500 kutcha houses at the Dev Saran or Saraniyavaas slum area in the city. âNamaste Trumpâ event, which has kick-started on Monday, will be similar to the landmark âHowdy, Modi!â event hosted by the Indian-American community in honour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Houston in September 2019. 12. Recently, around 100 Pakistani Hindu families have crossed the Attari-Wagah border and reached Amritsar, on Monday. The Pakistani Hindu families are continuing to flee from Pakistan to India as they claim to be oppressed based on their religion there. However, while the controversy over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) refuses to die, around 200 families have already crossed the border and entered India in the year 2020 till now. © Twitter Manjinder S Sirsa According to India Today, a few members of the 100 Pakistani Hindu families that crossed the border on Monday, said, "Humanity has died in Pakistan and they have told the Islamabad-based Indian Embassy that they want to settle in India." Many people, including women and children, reached Amritsar with their belongings and some of them have also said that they want to perform Hindu religious rites at Haridwar. Not only this, but some Pakistani Hindu families have also got mortal remains of their ancestors to perform their last rites in the holy Ganges. As of now, some of the families have been given temporary visas, but have also expressed their wishes to stay in the country and never return to Pakistan. On a scale of 1 - #HallaBol, how excited are we Royals?". After staying away from international cricket, Smith will be eager to come good for Royals in the upcoming season of the IPL in a bid to remain in contention for the ICC World Cup slot in the Australian team. Reuters He was supposed to lead the Royals last season, but the infamous ball-tampering saga in South Africa led to his suspension and, in turn, an unceremonious exit from India's cash-rich Twenty20 (T20) league. In his absence, India's Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane was seen taking over the reins as captain and eventually leading Rajasthan to the playoffs last season. A thrilling contest between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will kickstart the twelfth edition of the IPL on 23rd March. On the other hand, Rajasthan will begin their campaign when they take on Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on 25th March.

  19. Just a few months ago, we saw people dividing themselves between team Shilpa Shinde and team Hina Khan. Shilpa Shinde emerged victorious after surviving 'Bigg Boss 11' and the twelfth season is all set to hit the air in just two weeks. 'Bigg Boss' is without a doubt one of the most highly-watched reality shows in India and every year, the madness quotient goes a notch higher, making us furthermore excited. This year it's all about the vichtra jodis and we already told you who might be entering the house this season. © Voot Salman Khan will introduce us to 21 contestants who will be seen in jodis. However, there will be a few who will come as singles and will eventually be paired in the show. Vichitra jodis, this season of #BiggBoss with@beingSalmankhan. This time, the makers are all set to add more buzz to the controversial show. The show launch will be held in Goa for 'Bigg Boss 12'. The invites are out and it says, “Kya hai yeh vichitra jodi ki kahani? Suniye host aur dost Salman Khan ki zabaani.” © Twitter We guess the invite hints at what the aura of the 'Bigg Boss' house will be like this time. There are several changes that the makers have made for this season. It is being said that Salman Khan will be seen grilling the contestants, not through the usual Me TV but something that looks like a classroom board. The show is all set to premiere on September 16, 2018, and we can't wait for our daily dose of cutthroat drama!

When most of us were going about with our daily chores and living in the comfort of our homes, our brave soldiers were fighting the terrorists near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora on Tuesday, to ensure our safety. In this gunfight, we lost four Army personnel, one of whom is 29-year-old Major Kaustubh Rane. RIP brothers ..Saluteð@adgpi — Maj Surendra Poonia (@MajorPoonia) August 7, 2018 Although, no amount of words can suffice our gratitude towards the Indian Army, who risk their lives to protect the country and ensure our safety from external and internal threats; at times a small gesture is all it takes to pay our respect to these brave soldiers for their courage and selflessness. © ANI In an emotional gesture, Mumbaikars paid their respect to Major Kaustubh Rane from the Army's 36 Rashtriya Rifles, as the nation's hero's mortal remains arrived wrapped in the Indian flag today in Thane by showering flowers as the flower-laden Army truck took him to the crematorium. © BCCL Thousands of people accompanied the truck, waving flags and holding posters with his picture and chanting slogans like 'Major Kaustabh Rane, Amar Rahe', 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'. The roads which led to Major Rane's home on Mira Road were covered with flower petals. Reportedly, Major Rane's last rites were performed with full military honours, a military band played the last post and senior personnel paid their last respects as the funeral pyre was lit.
