  1. It's Father's Day tomorrow and while a social media post doesn't quite suffice for thanking the most important man in our life, it won't hurt to let him know that you love him. Since fathers are the source of our inspiration and the light of guidance for all of us, here are 5 TV characters who played the role of absolute badass fathers and nailed it: 1. Walter White in 'Breaking Bad' A chemistry teacher going through a mid-life crisis and fighting deadly cancer turns into a complete badass when he realises that selling drugs is his only escape to make ends meet for his family to survive. 2. Brad Wolgast in 'The Passage' Brad Wolgast is a federal agent who, even though is not the biological father of Amy, loves and protects her like his own. He saves her from being a pawn in a medical experiment, which is being conducted in a medical facility aided by the government. 3. Logan Roy in 'Succession' He gives his kids a hard time but that is because he believes they need to go through it, as the world is unfair and you have to be strong. Logan makes sure his kids know the value of what they inherit. 4.David Budd in 'Bodyguard' A war veteran suffering from PTSD works in the police protection force as a bodyguard, and he knows how to protect his kin, fiercely. His kind yet strong personality makes him a great onscreen dad. 5.John Winchester in 'Supernatural' John was blinded by revenge and spent most of his time hunting and drinking. He sometimes looks like he's a callous dad but he is very protective of Sam and Dean and even gives up his life for his sons. It's that very tough upbringing that made Sam and Dean one of the finest hunters in the world.
  2. With 28 seasons already gone, 'The Simpsons' remains one of the best and most popular animated series in the history of television. When there was actually nothing to look forward to, there was 'The Simpsons' and we're glad it stuck around dealing with infinite worldly issues, giving us survival hope, all the time! © 20th Television But apart from watching 'The Simpsons' for the thrill of it and because it was good animation, the show also made sure the future was foreshadowed all along. The show has made some crazy predictions in politics, tech and now, 'Game of Thrones' and we really don't know how these guys do it! From predicting autocorrect fails to now predicting the 5th episode of 'Game of Thrones', it's a show you should watch if you really want to strategise your way of living in this world. Because what the Simpsons know in the future, clearly we don't! And they always happen to predict it through an episode, years before it actually happens! © 20th Television Don't believe me? Just recently, about two years ago, when 'Game Of Thrones', Season 7 had finished airing, 'The Simpsons' aired an episode in October 2017, called the 'Serfsons'. The episode was related to 'Game of Thrones' and in a scene, they showed a dragon burning down the family's village, which was actually synonymous with Daenerys Targaryen burning down King's Landing in episode 5, Season 8 of 'GoT', which aired last week! So, 'The Simpsons' had already given us major spoilers almost two years ago and predicted the ending well in advance! Here, take a look! The simpsons wtf !!!!ðð¥ #GameofThrones pic.twitter.com/U1hK8UvmG5 — خاÙد (@ilkh_) 13 May 2019 The episode was actually a 'GoT' parody and featureD Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa, who were recast as feudal peasants, trying to deal with Marge, who is bitten by an 'Ice-Walker'. And of course, Twitter lost its sh** after watching the prediction made by 'The Simpsons' about 'Game of Thrones'! Well I be damned they predicted the future again#gameofthrones #GOTS8E5 #simpsons #Daenerys pic.twitter.com/7rE9nR2bun — larissa (@cuddlemetria) 13 May 2019 Why does the @TheSimpsons theme song work perfectly with @GameOfThrones opening. ð¤ #GameofThrones #Simpsons pic.twitter.com/hyJ7NL8wfO — Gerry Rushe (@gerry_rushe) 10 May 2019 But that's not all what 'The Simpsons' have predicted for the future. There are many things and as time progressed we started discovering how precious each episode of the show really is. Here are 5 future predictions that 'The Simpsons' has really made: (1) Donald Trump's Presidency Season 11, Episode 17: Bart To The Future Predicted: 2000 Came True: 2006 Bart is experiencing adulthood in this episode and Lisa becomes president, who inherits 'quite a budget crunch', from the predecessor Donald Trump. In 2016, writer Dan Greaney told an popular news publication that the Trump joke was a warning to America and said “That just seemed like the logical last stop before hitting bottom, it was pitched because it was consistent with the vision of America going insane." This is a direct Simpsons quote from March 2000 in a future where Lisa was president Once again, The Simpsons is always right pic.twitter.com/992UUp8bI6 — Mike M - #MFL10 Retired? (@MikeMarFF) 8 December 2016 (2) Lady Gaga's Halftime Show Season 23, Epsidoe 22: Lisa Goes Gaga Predicted: 2012 Came True: 2017 About 5 years ago, the show had predicted a singer who looked like Gaga descending from the roof of Houston's NRG stadium, for the halftime show of the Superbowl and guess what? In 2017, the exact same thing happened, with the actual singer, Lady Gaga! The Simpsons predicted Lady Gaga's #PepsiHalftime show. Im so shook! #Superbowl pic.twitter.com/Wfp4NuGqLz — Jonathan (@YaManJonathan) 6 February 2017 (3) Disney-Fox Takeover Season 10, Episode 5: When You Wish Upon A Star Predicted: 1998 Came True: 2017 A screenplay that was pitched by Ron Howard when he visited Springfield, was written by Homer to the then producer of 20th Century Fox. At the beginning of the scene you can see a 20th Century Fox sign, and underneath it, it says 'a division of Walt Disney Co.' And guess what? In December 2017, Disney reached a deal to acquire Fox for $66.1 Billion. Disney announces it has reached a deal to acquire 21st Century Fox, as predicted by a Simpsons episode that first aired on November 8, 1998. pic.twitter.com/kzloJQHeM8 — Darren Rovell (@darrenrovell) 14 December 2017 (4) The Nobel Prize For Bengt Holmström Season 22, Episode 1: Elementary School Musical Predicted: 2010 Came True: 2016 The Finnish economist may have not won the Nobel Prize till 2016, but in the show, Milhouse Van Houten was betting on him winning it, 6 years ago! Fun fact: @TheSimpsons' Milhouse once predicted MIT Prof. Holmström would win a #NobelPrize. Today, he was right! https://t.co/CC0LRk1avy pic.twitter.com/syhMiJBK2A — Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (@MIT) 10 October 2016 (5) Greece's Economic Crisis Season 23, Episode 10 Predicted: 2012 Came True: 2015 Remember Greece's big economic crisis about 4 years ago? Well, in this episode, Homer appears as a guest commentator and there's a ticker running below on the screen which says 'Europe puts Greece on eBay'. Well, this actually happened when Greece became the first developed country to face fierce debt with the International Monitory Fund, putting the country in a grave economic crisis. The show has made other popular predictions, which are heavily technical in nature and they've all come true and how! Let's just stay tuned to the show because we now think 'The Simpsons' will soon predict how the world will eventually end and it'll definitely come in handy!
  3. Being a parent, who brings about gender-neutrality when their child is growing up, is a very essential part of their upbringing. What is gender-neutrality when it comes to raising kids today? It's when parents raise their kids in an environment which does not force any preconceived gender norms upon them to adhere to. While you may think gender norms are subjective and some are more stereotyped than the others, the ardent belief that men should be raised a particular way, which distinguishes them for being men in the first place, is what's problematic in society. (c)Pintrest Today, there is a need for mothers and fathers to raise their children in a gender-neutral environment where discouraging them to pick up a few activities just because it doesn't fit a particular gender role should be overlooked and processed differently. It's problematic to feed men with the notion that it's not okay to be emotional or too sensitive or tell women their place is in the kitchen or as homemakers. It's a choice that both the parents have to give their children to make and follow, respectively. (c)Pintrest Most men today are raised by their mothers because it's a basic bond and any mother who's raising a child knows how to do it best. Mothers are leaning towards gender-neutral parenting and this Mother's Day, we gathered 5 men who spoke about gender-neutral things their mothers taught them, while they were growing up: (1) It's Absolutely Okay To Show Emotions! "I was always raised believing if you have a feeling or an emotion, it's absolutely okay to share it and show it. Hiding behind a garb of manliness and denying your own emotion can be quite toxic and dissatisfying. My mother, in fact, always encouraged me to emote when I was going through a tough time rather than walking out of a room because it was difficult to process a particular emotion. I am very thankful for that because I recognise emotions very easily, not just in me and I help people open up and process them. Especially for my son, who is 10." Akshay Luthra, 38, Marketing Consultant. (c)Pintrest (2) Stay-At-Home Dads Shouldn't Be Looked Down Upon "I am stay-at-home father, which means my wife got promoted last year and couldn't find the time to look after the kids round the clock. I have two children and their upbringing is very important to me. So, I work from home and take care of them, while my wife goes to the office. She and I both implement the fact that its absolutely normal to be a stay-at-home dad and it's not a gender-specific role, just for the mother to stay home and take care of the house and children'' - Rohit Nanda, 39, Freelance Writer (c)Pintrest (3) Cooking Doesn't Challenge Masculinity "My mother always loved cooking and she was of the opinion anyone can cook. She never saw it as an activity for just women, where they cook and serve at all times. In fact, my sister was never encouraged to enter the kitchen. If her interest lay there, she definitely would have. But I loved to cook since a child and my mother always encouraged it. Today I have my own restaurants and I still love to cook. It was because of my mother I changed my hobby, to my work now" - Pritiyush Kalra, 35, Chef (4) A Choice Is A Choice "I was always fascinated by wearing non-boyish clothes as a kid. I mean, I liked all these colourful dresses and my mom's make-up. I would just stare at her getting ready and always go for her make-up when she wasn't around. I remember the day she caught me, I thought I would -be in big trouble. But she asked me what I liked about make-up and I said I liked the colours. She then told me it was my choice as to what I liked wearing and how I liked dressing and she would never make that for me. I am very grateful to her for making it easy to identify and accept my choices and my sexuality, when society refused to" - Ankit Moghe, 28, Make-Up Artist. (5) It's About Knowing What're You're Good At "I have been fond of classical dance since I was a child. I used to watch it on television and always start dancing at home. My mother saw that time and again and enrolled me in Bharatanatyam classes. My father was very against this decision and said it's only something girls should do. But my mother stuck her ground and today I am a professional dancer, running my own school. It has also taught me that gender-neutral parenting is very important. It doesn't confuse who you are, it enhances your belief in equal opportunity between the two genders and this is what I will impart to my children as well." - Romith Iyer, 29, Danseur (c)Pintrest Gender-neutral kids are more creative as they're given an opportunity to explore their own wants and needs without facing a bias or a discouragement in their expression of choice. It is fairly important to reduce gender importance and norms that classify as a staunchly patriarchal society. In fact, it's time to do away with the basics of patriarchy and equalise and normalise the effect both genders have, in society. This Mother's Day, these 5 men wish to thank their mother for giving them the ultimate lesson in life- embracing who and what you really are!
  4. It has been a while since 'Avengers: Endgame' hit the theatres and if you really cared about the spoilers, you would have seen the film by now. Even then, out of sheer respect for a fellow Marvel fan, I am bound to put up this disclaimer: **SPOILERS AHEAD** If you are still here, it either means that you have seen the film or you really don't care about what all the fuss is. In either case, kudos! I like you. We are here to discuss why Captain America and the rest of 'the earth's mightiest' heroes are as evil and villainous as the 'Mad Titan', who had decided to snap away half the population of the universe and did exactly that at the end of 'Infinity War'. The reason behind Thanos' bold decision was sustainability, to put it simply, regardless of how dreadful his methods were. Blinded by the will to destroy half the living beings, Thanos did not stop at anything, not even sacrificing his daughter, Gamora, whom he loved the most. But the people who were considered to be the 'good guys', the ones who were supposed to “look out for the little guy”, are no different than Thanos. Snapping the Children of Thanos, the mindless Chitauri army and the Mad Titan himself, the Avengers did get rid of the threat, sure, but the 'decimation' done by Tony Stark was nothing less than capital punishment. Furthermore, the Avengers killed the numerous soldiers without a judicial order, thereby making it illegal and criminal. Killing Thanos' army like that on such a huge scale could be compared to burning down a jail full of criminals only because they were guilty of a crime. Yes, Thanos was evil and deserved the harshest of punishments but only after a trial, just like the Avengers and the rest of the forces wanted the Living Tribunal to. However, the Living Tribunal did not blame him of being guilty because according to him, Thanos was not disobeying the laws of existence and was simply replacing the weaker with the strong. © Marvel Comics On one hand, Thanos wanted to get rid of a random half of the living beings to make sure that the Universe doesn't implode due to lack of resources or overpopulation. This meant that even he had a 50% chance of dying after the snap. The Avengers, on the other hand, snapped to get rid of their foes and maintain their way of life, while pushing the universe into endless oblivion. So, I guess the question here now is that who actually was the villain at the end? Thanos or the Avengers?
  5. Spoilers. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a long-standing tradition of heavily manipulating their trailers, especially when it comes to movies like 'Avengers: Infinity War' and 'Avengers: Endgame'. Or, maybe it's just the Russo brothers being very extra. We all know how much of a secret the plot of 'Endgame' was, as even the actors weren't given full scripts and the Russo brothers even made some of them shoot fake scenes to keep them in the dark. Yes, they went to extreme lengths to keep everything under wraps so obviously, they wouldn't have undone all of that by just straight up giving away scenes in the trailers, teasers, and TV spots. Last year, we managed to find a bunch of differences between scenes in trailers and the actual scenes in the movie for 'Infinity War'. Now, for 'Endgame', the stakes are higher and so it the secrecy. Here are all the scenes from the trailer that were manipulated or just didn't appear in the movie: 1. Nat Practicing To Fight Thanos With A Gun??? Well, if a freaking axe made from a dying star can't kill the giant grape, a gun will, apparently. Okay, I don't want to be so mean about a scene that never even made it to the movie - probably because it was stupid - but what was the point? Sorry Nat, you can't kill Thanos with a gun. 2. Black Widow's Hair, Part One If you recall, Scott Lang showing up at the Avengers compound is what set everything in motion. Also, that happened five years after the Avengers managed to kill the present day Thanos. So, during that time jump, Nat has been keeping busy making peanut butter sandwiches and getting emails from a racoon, so of course, she let her hair grow out. In this particular scene in the movie, her hair is long and almost entirely red and not short and blonde. 3. The Avengers Walking In Their New Suits This was one of the best moments from all of the trailers when it came out because we saw everyone together. At that time also, a lot of people noted the absence of Thor and Bruce Banner. Well, now we know they were there but their look for the movie couldn't be revealed before. 4. 'Bring Me Thanos' (Again) A scene from 'Infinity War' that wasn't even in 'Infinity War'. This is basically a different version or maybe just a close of the best moment from the third Avengers movie - Thor's entrance in Wakanda. 5. Steve Crying In the trailers, the scene is set up as if he's crying because they couldn't stop Thanos before he snapped his fingers, but in reality, this comes after Natasha Romanoff's sacrificial death to get the Soul Stone. Moreover, there's someone else in the shot as well, standing in the back. (I can't remember who, I'm sorry, I've only watched the movie once yet) 6. Black Widow's Hair, Part Two I love how Natasha's red/blonde hair is used to make a timeline and also used for manipulation. This exact scene happened after the five-year time jump in the movie, therefore her hair was red and not 'Infinity War' blonde by that time. 7. Cap's Shield Captain America's shield is literally the most reliable and constant thing throughout the entire MCU and it's almost indestructible. But, it was time for Cap to get a new, improved weapon so the shield's gotta go. In the movie, when he's strapping on the shield to his arm, it's almost completely broken, thanks to the grape I mentioned before, so that crucial information sure as hell couldn't be revealed in the trailer. Also, is it just me or does this gif has 'I can do this all day' energy? 8. Cap's Giddy Optimism 'I missed that giddy optimism' - turns out Cap and Tony weren't all hugs and smiles when Tony actually said this line. In the trailer, it seems like he said this to Cap as a joke right at this point, but obviously, it came at a different time in the movie. Tony said this to Cap at his house, not the Avengers compound and plus, it wasn't a friendly comment but rather a taunt. 9. Captain Marvel's Helmet I really don't think anyone cares about this one, but in this scene, she wasn't wearing her helmet. I'm pretty sure the edit here is just to not reveal her new hairstyle, which again no one cares that much about. But hey, it got us a funny quip from Rocket so it's all good.
  6. It's been 10 years since 'Game Of Thrones' has been building up to the battle with the 'White Walkers' from the very first episode of the series. It's been 8 seasons now and we finally got to see the battle everybody had been waiting for. 'The Long Night', aired yesterday and even though it was a directorial marvel for a TV show, it was lacking in almost every way. Many fans of the show were left disappointed simply because logic and story arcs didn't add up. If you haven't watched the episode, this post contains spoilers, so avoid reading further. Currently, the third episode of Season 8 sits at 74% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the third lowest rated episode in the show's history. Here's why we feel the 'Battle of Winterfell' was disappointing. There are plenty of plot-holes and some scenes defy logic based on what was set up in the very same episode. Here's our deep analysis: 1. The Night King's Death © HBO If you've seen the episode, you already know that Arya kills the Night King with her Valyrian “CatsPaw” dagger. Just to make it clear, Arya killing the Night King was a true badass moment and is a great example of women empowerment in movies and TV shows. In fact, many other franchises could learn a thing or two from this particular episode. Our problem has nothing to do with who killed the Night King, its to do with how Arya got there in the first place. Just a few minutes ago, Arya was involved in a stealth scene hiding from Wights by hiding behind bookshelves and under a table. In the scene, the wights could hear her blood drops hitting the floor and could find the source of the sound. A few scenes later, are you trying to tell us that a horde of silent wights and white walkers could not detect Arya jumping 30 feet to kill the nightwalker? They could not hear Arya sneaking around in the bushes or the snow? Considering that a few moments ago they could hear blood drops but not her sneaking around in the middle of all the White Walkers? You could say that she's been trained by the “Faceless Man” and may have acquired some mind-blowing stealth tricks, but the scene prior to that totally negates her abilities. 2. This Is 'Game Of Thrones', Not a Disney Movie © HBO The one thing that made 'Game Of Thrones' special was its ability to be bold, daring and risky when it came to killing off characters. The show has unexpected moments where it doesn't fear killing off key characters in the most brutal manner. That's what sets 'GOT' apart from other fantasy franchises. In 'The Long Night', possibly the biggest and most brutal battle in the show's history, almost every named character survives. From 60,000 souls defending Winterfell, only Jorah Mormont, Berric Dondorrian, Lyanna Mormont, Edd and Melisandre died? Are you kidding me? (c) HBO If there were at least double the deaths, this would classify as a classic 'GOT' episode. However, HBO opted to play safe and made sure almost all the main characters survive. This isn't a Disney movie, this is 'Game Of Thrones'. What defies logic is that Jorah Mormont, a skilled knight who defended himself from every Wight that came his way till the very end; died, but someone like Sam Tarly who was literally flat on his butt for the entirety of the episode survived? What were the show-runners smoking? Where is the logic? Where are the loremasters when you need them? Is this a result of simply rushing the TV show and playing it safe at the same time? © HBO We all know White Walkers have taken inspiration from just about every Zombie movie, TV show and book possible. We were expecting some of our favourite characters turn into a wight; which never happened. We expected one of the characters witnessing their loved one die and convert right in front of them and having to kill them. It would have been a very emotional moment but we never got to see that. It's the simplest trope you get to see in every Zombie movie but HBO never ventured that far. 3. There Was No Tactical Strategy © HBO In the history of warfare, when you are defending a siege, you do not break the line and send out the cavalry to sacrifice themselves in the battlefield. It seems like HBO probably did not use any warfare advisors for this episode as it's simply not logical to send out the cavalry to test your opponents. It's suicide and we got to see the very same thing happen in this episode. In 'The Long Night', the Dothraki were ordered to charge at the incoming onslaught. This move is called 'Custer' but generally ends up in major losses. 'GOT' could have taken a cue from other movies that have dealt with similar scenarios. For example, movies like 'Braveheart', 'LOTR', 'Kingdom of Heaven', and countless others all have similar scenarios where they defend a position and these movies depicted battles as accurately as possible. Hell, even in the 'Battle of Bastards' it was pointed out that charging at an enemy that outnumbers you is suicide. Seriously, I'm done. 4. There Was Nothing Long About This Night A TV series that has literally spent an entire season to kill major characters ended the most anticipated battle in just 82 minutes? I mean if 'The Long Night' is depicted in just 82 minutes then we need to re-define what 'long' really means. This was a battle that has been anticipated from the very first episode of the show and all we got was a disappointing end to the battle. HBO should have spent more time to depict one of the most epic battles in the show's history and not concluded the battle in just one episode. We wanted to see some epic fights, some emotional scenes and some shocking moments. We got to see none of that and many fans simply reacted to the episode with “meh.” 5. We Couldn't See A Thing #GameofThrones s8e3 spoiler without context pic.twitter.com/lw3ipGS4Zi — 9GAG (@9GAG) April 29, 2019 In the post-episode interview, the show-runners said that they wanted a realistic feel to the episode where everything was dark. What baffles me is that there's literally nothing real about 'GOT'. It's a fantasy fiction show where we deal with dragons, zombies, incest and whatever else you can think of. We wanted to see an epic battle depicting one of the most defining moments of TV history. There was no need for keeping the entire environment dark when you could simply represent it in many other ways. 'LOTR' did it in the "battle of Gondor", 'Avengers: Endgame' did it effectively in their final battle; then what was the need for keeping everything dark? A Redditor claims that HBO simply used this tactic to hide special effects. In fact, this episode probably didn't have enough extras to show off a horde of 100,000 wights. I mean why wouldn't you show off one of the greatest armies assembled in the history of TV? Why would you hide a majority of your special effects unless something is really wrong? Unless someone forgot to bring a lighting rig, I can't think of any other excuse for this goof up.
  7. Marvel really just wants to kick us harder when we're down, don't they? We lost so many, so freaking many people in 'Avengers: Infinity War' and that might not be permanent, but everyone's like 99 per cent sure that we will lose a lot of OG Avengers in 'Avengers: Endgame' so obviously, fans are already emotional. How do you make everyone feel better? Remind them of all the lost characters while promoting the movie, apparently. During a press conference in LA recently, the entire cast assembled to talk about the movie but there were a lot of empty chairs for the 'fallen'. Yes, we can also look at it from a different perspective because it's a nice way to show every character matters, but it gave everyone too many feels. Here are your Avengers, with plenty of empty chairs meant for their fallen comrades pic.twitter.com/5sdyFw5JKv — Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) April 7, 2019 Very hurted. Do they left the seats empty of everyone who turned into dust. That hurt!#AvengersEndgame #Avengers #AvengersPressTour pic.twitter.com/3YgRFPVcjK — Varun Popat (@popat_varun) April 8, 2019 Along with this, there's so much more that happened at the conference, but the most important thing was still the vote on Chris Evans' beard. Anthony Russo: “One of our favorite story adages is to write yourself into a corner... we've tried to do that with the ending of every Marvel movie we've done.” — Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) April 7, 2019 A clear act of aggression. Chris Evans is talking about “the completion” of Captain America's arc in a way that immediately set off audible spoiler alarms from the other people on stage. “Let's just talk about SCOTT PILGRIM instead,” said Jon Favreau. pic.twitter.com/RADan09KMZ — Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) April 7, 2019 It's a good thing. “This character started as a sexy secretary with a skill set on the side,” says ScarJo of Black Widow. “The next time we saw her in AVENGERS, she was one of the boys, for better or worse.” ScarJo says BW has grown as the MCU became more diverse and not just “a testosterone fest” — Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) April 7, 2019 So many people. “It's like having the Beatles say, come jam with us for a while,” says Paul Rudd of becoming a core Avenger. “It's so surreal and profound to be a part of it... and it's incredible to meet so many kids whose lives are affected by these characters.” — Kyle Buchanan (@kylebuchanan) April 7, 2019 I didn't know that. Brie Larson: “I came in at the most magical time, I think.” Her introduction to the other Marvel heroes was at the studio's 10-year photo. “This film will also be personally dear to me because it was my first time playing Captain Marvel. 8. 1st April a.k.a April Fool's Day has always been the day on which all brands try to put their best foot forward and lie to us for the sake of, well, comedy. You definitely shouldn't be believing what you see or hear on April Fool's day, but it's also the day that brings out the best in the tech space. Well, 2019 was no exception, and we got to see a lot of interesting stuff from big name companies. But here are the best April Fool's Day pranks, which we wish actually real: 1. Notifications That Literally Follow! Duolingo's pesky notifications bugging you every day to take your language test can get super annoying, which is why we're sure you end up ignoring them. But this April fool's day, the company took a step further by introducing the idea of having a large green owl appear in real life and follow you around to remind you to practice your language lessons. Heck, they even come in three modes - encouraging, disappointed, or passive aggressive - and it's downright hilarious. Check it out - 2. A Smart Assistant For Gaming? Sure. Nvidia also took it a step further by announcing a GeForce RTX smart assistant called R.O.N. The company claims it can give you cool tips when you play games like Apex Legends, telling you to hide, etc. R.O.N. can also use its brains to leave comments on sites like Reddit and Twitch for you. But be careful, R.O.N. can become a serious troll. The best part, however, has got to be the device itself, which throws a really cool holograph. Check it out - 3. RGB CPU, Anyone? Newegg's new CPU for April Fool's day makes us wonder - “How much RGB is too much RGB?” Seriously, the company showcased an RGB CPU for people who just can't have enough RGB in their life. It costs a hefty $4,999.99, and it comes with a whopping 100 cores and 200 threads. Its base clock is a supposed 1.4 Petahertz and overclock, well, if you overclock it, Newegg says you “might create a small black hole inside your CPU.” It's not something that we want, because the CPU will anyway be tucked inside a cooler, but it's a hilarious idea. Check it out here - 4. Do You Like Cup Noodles? Yes, that's what HyperX and Nissin came up with. Needs no explanation we suppose? They even claim that you can detach the fork and slurp some noodles while gaming. Sounds just about right. © HyperX - Noodles 5. Like Sharing Your Music? If you don't like HyperX's idea, then how about something more practical? Like this Jabra Earbud(dy) headphones, with which you can share the music that you're listening to. It apparently comes with an ultra-light headband that can be extended “seamlessly to accommodate the perfect fit for every pair of buddies.” © Jabra 6. An App Find Your Lost LEGO Bricks? LEGO's “Find My Brick”, as the name suggests, is a parody of Apple's Find My iPhone app. It will help you find your bricks for you in a pile of miscellaneous blocks. Image how simple your life would be with such an app, and that's exactly why we think this should actually be real. The long search is finally over... ð± #FindMyBrick pic.twitter.com/3yBIPJ2OPk — LEGO (@LEGO_Group) April 1, 2019 Well, that wraps our list of April Fool's pranks. Of course, there were countless other pranks by the likes of OnePlus, Razer, Tinder, etc., but these are the ones which we truly wished existed in real life, especially the Nvidia R.O.N. and LEGO app.
  9. PUBG Mobile is back in the news again. No one got arrested this time, but sadly two people lost their lives as they were run over by a train while playing the game near the railway tracks. Officials said that the incident happened at Khatkali Bypass in Hingoli, which is over 570 kilometres from Mumbai. The two men, Nagesh Gore and Swapnil Annapurne, were playing PUBG near the railway tracks. They got run over by the Hyderabad-Ajmer train. © PUBG Mobile The bodies of the two men were found late at night by the locals living in the vicinity. The officials have noted that an accidental death report has been registered at Hingoli police station. Also, this isn't the first negative report about PUBG Mobile this month. The game has been hitting the headlines since the beginning of the year for all the wrong reasons. Recently, the Rajkot police even arrested 10 people who were playing the game in public after the ban.
  10. The worst thing that could ever happen, happened. Instagram and Facebook were down for over eight hours. Yeah, the internet went through a dark time today. But, at least we were all in this together. Both the websites were down for everyone across the globe and not one particular area was being personally victimized. What do you do when two of the biggest social media websites are down? Turn to a third social media website, of course. Who wants to go and experience the world like people did before internet and social media? Twitter became everyone's knight in shining armour and everyone flocked to the site to complain about the other two sites. But, since it's Twitter, the complains soon turned into jokes and memes because that's just what you do on Twitter, okay. #Instagramdown and #Facebookdown started trending soon, right on track. 11. Well, you can hate them or love them, but you know you've never been able to ignore them because we've had no option but to keep up with all the Kardashians and the Jenners. 12. Aero India is a biennial event happening in India since 1996, and the program has slowly gained a lot of momentum. These trade shows are a perfect platform for companies to show-off their offerings, and in a rapidly developing market like India, the possibilities are limitless. While India has shared deeper roots with the then-USSR in terms of defence and aviation acquisitions, the tides are slowly turning. India is among the top defence equipment importers in the world, and with nascent domestic aviation manufacturing, targeting India as a potential customer is natural. For the aviation geeks out there, the show is a mesmerising experience. Not only does it offer newer civilian aircraft, but also demonstrates the capability of India's armed forces. This year, more than fifty aircrafts were on static display at Aero India. Aerobatic performances were held by numerous aircrafts, and we've listed down our favourites. 1. Dassault Rafale © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Rafale has become a household name in India now, but keeping aside the political controversies, it is among the most capable multirole fighter planes out there. It can perform air superiority, reconnaissance, ground support, as well as nuclear deterrence. The French Air Force primarily operates it, and Indian Air Force has placed an order of 36 aircraft. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The French Air Force (regionally called Armée de l'air) brought a couple of their Rafale's at Aero India, and they undoubtedly attracted the most people. The delta wing design provides higher maneuverability and the jet can reach a maximum speed of Mach 1.8 (1,900 km/h). It can also go as slow as 213km/h and take off as well as land on aircraft carriers. It is a symbol of French engineering and carries forward the legacy of Dassault's Mirage 2000 jets. 2. Sukhoi 30MKI © MensXP / Shivam Vahia It is a 4.5-generation air superiority aircraft developed by Russia and India has more than 250 of them in service. With state of the art avionics and thrust vectoring nozzles, it can perform a cobra manoeuvre in which it suddenly raises the nose momentarily to the vertical position and slightly beyond. This lets it reduce air speed instantly, providing an edge in air-to-air combat. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Indian variant can carry a BrahMos supersonic missile and employs a variety of weapons for ground-based offensive as well. It can also fly at double the speed of sound and pick up enemy at ranges in excess of 200kms. 3. LCA Tejas © MensXP / Shivam Vahia It is an indigenously developed aircraft and the first squadron was raised in July 2016. The complete structure is made of composite materials to reduce weight and increase performance. Just like the Rafale, it has a delta wing design for increased maneuverability. The air show depicted its exceedingly high rate of climb along with sharp turns to provide an edge in air-to-air combat. It features a complete glass cockpit along with a heads-up display and fly by wire technology for simpler handling. Aero India 2019 dazzled when Tejas rose to the sky, thundering amidst the much hyped Rafale and staple warhorse Sukhoi. 4. C17 Globemaster III © MensXP / Shivam Vahia Transport aircrafts like the C17 were another spectacular sight. United States Air Force brought their giant from Pearl Harbour, along with the P-8I Poseidon. The plane is made by Boeing and features four engines that enable it to carry more than 77,000 kgs of cargo. © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The plane has multiple roles and can perform troop drop, strategic airlifting as well as relief operations. The Indian Air Force currently has 10 of these and they play a crucial role in maintaining logistics supply to the remote parts of the country. 5. Airbus A330neo © MensXP / Shivam Vahia The Airbus A320neo have become a common sight in India thanks to a huge operational fleet of IndiGo, GoAir, Vistara, and Air India. The A330 is a wide-body aircraft that can carry up to 400 people in a single class configuration. The "NEO" stands for New Engine Option and new Rolls Royce Trent 7000 engines are extremely efficient in terms of operating costs. So far, only three have been built and the first scheduled flight of the A330 will be operated to Mumbai. The cockpit looks very similar to the A350 and the two share a lot of common design elements.
  13. Until yesterday, Barbados, the island nation in the Caribbean, used to be known across the world for being the place where 'Friends' character Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) hooked up with Joey (Matt LeBlanc), but the Windies' 'Universe Boss', Chris Gayle, decided to change that last evening when he caused it to rain sixes on the island against the visiting England cricket team. WHAT A KNOCK. Chris Gayle makes an incredible return to international cricket, reaching his 24th ODI hundred with a single off of Chris Woakes. It's come from exactly 100 balls. Clinical.#WIvENG | FOLLOW â¬ï¸ https://t.co/pQbWOWuEQM pic.twitter.com/0uUFCPJK4h — ICC (@ICC) February 20, 2019 If 'Balls Lost' was a stat maintained by the International Cricket Council (ICC), it would have to be Chris Gayle's name on the top of the charts. In a comeback match of his extremely successful career, the 39-year-old was able to get his 24th ODI century. He scored a massive 135 runs off 129 balls while having three 4s and 12 thunderous 6s to achieve this feat. What is crazier than these numbers is the sheer strength Gayle continues to command. There are sixes that just make it beyond the boundary line and then there are the 'Gayle Storm' sixes that disappear somewhere on stadium rooftops or even go out of them. Yesterday, Barbados experienced one such storm. During the beating he put on the Englishmen last evening, Gayle's 12 sixes included a monsterous maximum that travelled for more than 120-m with the ball nowhere to be found. However, the 'ball-finding' experts believe that it may quite possibly be resting on the decks of a ship docked in the adjacent port. But that was just one of eight incidents when the umpires had to introduce a new white ball into the game because of Chris Gayle. Running out of balls in Barbados#ENGvWI Gayle ð¥ð¥ — @RavitejaFan (@asisht84) February 20, 2019 Gayle looked like a batsman fresh in his prime during the first ODI between England and West Indies. Beating Shahid Afridi's record for the most number of sixes (476), Gayle got the top spot in that category when in the 14th over, Gayle sent another one out of the park on a Moeen Ali-delivery. His new found form has come up after a couple of days since the athlete had publicly announced that he would be retiring from One-Day International cricket post ICC World Cup 2019. Although Joe Root and the rest of the English squad was able to chase down the Windies' mammoth total of 360 runs to win the first ODI, Gayle's return to the Caribbean roster in such fashion, just a couple of months before the world cup is nothing but good new for his team. 14. Yesterday, on February 14, the nation was painted red, not in the colour of love but with blood as nearly 40 CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel were martyred in one of the worst terrorist attacks ever in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. AP When half the nation was celebrating the day of love with their partners, there were many families who were mourning the death of their loved ones. Cheers of laughter and joy soon turned into tears and cries of the families of jawans, who were mercilessly attacked when they were travelling in a CRPF bus that was blown up using explosives. Reportedly, a suicide bomber named Adil Ahmad Dar alias 'Waqas Commando' crashed his SUV, laden with more than 350kgs of explosives, into the bus that was part of a 70-vehicle convoy on its way to Pulwama. Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed responsibility for this terror attack. AP The attack has left the families devastated and the nation in shock. From prominent personalities to commoners, everyone is filled with rage and are now voicing their anger on social media. From Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Abhishek Bachchan, 'Uri' actor Vicky Kaushal to Taapsee Pannu, Alia Bhatt and more, celebrities are standing strong with the families of martyred jawans as this cowardly and despicable act can't be forgotten easily. 15. Fashion giant 'Gucci' just got embroiled in a controversy because of selling a rather 'avant-garde' sweater, which has been accused of being racist. Social media users expressed their displeasure because of Gucci's rather in-your-face 'ignorance' that could be clearly seen on the sweater design. Take a look at the controversial sweater here. © Gucci The Balaclava black wool sweater is conspicuous in its own right and covers the wearer's neck and most parts of the lower face. It has a cut-out on the lips, which has been fashioned with a red border, that resembles oversized lips. The sweater costs almost $900 and is supposed to be inspired by vintage ski-masks. People, however, have been trashing the design accusing it of bearing a close resemblance with 'Blackface'. For the uninitiated, Blackface is a form of theatrical make-up used predominantly by non-black performers to represent a caricature of a black person. © Gucci Unfortunately, for Gucci, the timing couldn't have been worse because it's the 'Black History Month', and a move like that just made sure that they have been dragged under the limelight, and not in a good way. Gucci, however, has apologized and has withdrawn the product, as well as taken it off the shelves in their brick and mortar stores. © Twitter Interestingly, Prada had also faced a similar controversy recently, where their range of figurines called the 'Pradamalia' range was accused of bearing a close resemblance with 'monkey-like' figures with large red lips, that also evoked Blackface imagery.
  16. We're all waiting for the release of 'Avengers: Endgame' and are also preparing for probably, permanently, losing a bunch of our favourite characters. But did you know there's another thing we need to prepare for? Our bladder-control, apparently. The runtime of the movie is 3 hours, which is not at all surprising considering that it's a culmination of 22 incredible movies and the final instalment of Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So basically, the movie has to tackle a lot of things, take care of a lot of different characters and storylines, especially when we think about how they also have to somehow manage to bring back a lot of people (and then kill a lot of them again). But, don't worry, the movie is going to be so awesome that we will end up fighting a battle with our bladder, at least that's what the people who have already watched the movie experienced. Yes, some lucky bastards have already seen the movie while we have to wait till the end of April, but let's ignore that for now. While speaking to Collider about the test screenings, the Russo Brothers said, “I think the studio is down with what the best story is. Right now, we think the movie is playing well and we've had great responses from our test audiences and we're feeling very good about where it is. We're still doing work to it. We're not done with it. Again, this is a culmination film of 22 movies, it's a lot of storytelling to work into it. Emotion is an intrinsic part of that to us. When you have to tell a really complicated story and you want strong emotional moments with the characters, it just requires a certain amount of real estate. This one, in particular, feels like three hours worth of real estate.” Well, that sounds exciting, doesn't it? While talking about the audience's reactions and the possibility of an interval, they said, “We have screened the movie four times for audiences now. For the first three screenings, not a single person got up to go to the bathroom.” So, I just have to say one thing - Excitement? Check. Bladder? Double check. Come at me, Marvel!

  19. If someday, the important people at the International Cricket Council (ICC) do decide to name the Decision Review System (DRS) after a player, Mahendra Singh Dhoni's name would be the number one recommendation on their list. Ever since the concept of challenging the umpire's call was actualised in cricket, MS Dhoni has used it to the greatest advantage of whatever team he has played for, be it the Indian cricket team or the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. Here are the top 5 moments where Dhoni proved his genius: 1. LBW Call Against Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq - Asia Cup 2018 (23/09/2018) During the Asia Cup 2018 Super Four matchup between India and Pakistan, when spinner Yuzvendra Chahal tricked Pakistani opener Imam-ul-Haq for a leg-before, the umpire seemed uninterested in the bowler's appeal. Dhoni instantly nodded at the then captain Rohit Sharma for a review to which Sharma instantly agreed. pic.twitter.com/47H8ktlOPf — CricBoll (@mycricboll) September 23, 2018 As the third umpire took a closer look, it was evident that the ball was pitched in-line, made an impact in-line and was, in fact, hitting the wickets. The next thing you know is the umpire reversing his decision and raising his finger in favour of the keeper's call. 2. Challenging LBW Call Against England - 3rd ODI At Headingley Stadium, Leeds (17/07/2018) After losing the toss, Virat Kohli's side was forced to bat first. With the half of the team wrapped up at 158 runs, it was Dhoni's turn to take the crease. After spinner Adil Rashid sent the skipper and Suresh Raina packing in the 31st over, it was Moeen Ali's turn to shock Dhoni with a beauty in the 32nd for an LBW appeal. As soon as the umpire agreed to Ali's call, Dhoni went for the DRS. The same crowd cheered after DRS(Dhoni review system), who had jeered him at Lord's. Finisher in need is DHONI indeed.#HypocriticalLove #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/9HoVBaBqMI — The Accidental Journalist (@joBless_God) July 17, 2018 While the ball was pitched at the right place and landed in-line too, the genius of Dhoni quickly led him to calculate that it has bounced too high and would miss the stumps by a lot. And that was exactly what had happened. 3. Eoin Morgan's Caught Behind Vs England - 1st ODI At MCA Stadium, Pune (15/01/2017) After winning the toss, India decided to bowl first and thanks for some brilliant performances by Englishmen Joe Root, Jason Roy and Ben Stokes, England was able to establish a huge total of 350 runs. Believe it or not, it could have been worse if MS Dhoni had not called for a review on this catch on a Hardik Pandya delivery against the skipper Eoin Morgan. MS Dhoni gets the DRS call Bang on! https://t.co/b181Dg9xp0 — Aditya Pandey (@adityapandey148) January 24, 2019 While on Pandya's appeal after Dhoni's excellent catch, the umpire immediately said “no”, Dhoni was certain that Morgan had to go. As soon as the keeper called for a review, Kohli obliged and the review went upstairs. With audio-inspection and slow motion, the third umpire was finally able to see what Dhoni saw with his naked eyes asked Morgan to go back to the locker room. 4. Saving Yuvraj Singh Vs England At Barabati Stadium, Cuttack (19/01/2017) One of the best Indian partnerships could have been missed out on if it wasn't for Dhoni's supernatural vision. During the second ODI match between India and England early in 2017, Yuvraj Singh was asked to go on a caught behind decision by the umpire. Everyone on the field, including Yuvraj Singh himself, believed that he was out but Dhoni asked for a review even before the umpire made up his mind in favour of the bowler. Decision Review System or Dhoni review system? https://t.co/hy8A2YXCgF — Aditya Pandey (@adityapandey148) January 24, 2019 Upon checking out the footage in slow motion, it was seen that after the ball touch Singh's bat, it went on to bounce once before keeper Jos Buttler caught it. Once the umpire reversed his decision, Singh went on to score 150 while Dhoni scored 134. 5. Chris Lynn's Catch At Slip - CSK Vs KKR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata (03/05/2018) In the first over the innings, when Lungi Ngidi appealed for KKR opener Chris Lynn's catch at slip, the umpire believed that the ball had only touched the pad and Lynn was therefore not out. More or less, everyone was convinced with the decision, everyone but Dhoni, who decided to go for it nonetheless. Dhoni review system on point https://t.co/HtWejye8HB via @ipl — Aditya Pandey (@adityapandey148) January 24, 2019 The bat had just scratched the surface of the ball with an almost inaudible nick which somehow Dhoni heard. Call it sixth-sense of good luck, but what is evident is that no one is better than Dhoni when it comes to following their instinct which has often led to his reviews being on point.
  20. We understand that people tend to take sports very seriously, as they should. Athletes and coaches tend to work together and push their boundaries of fitness, strength and stamina to become better and achieve new heights in their choice of sport. The sportsman's spirit is full of adrenaline, the determination to do better than ever and the hunger to win. We get it. What we do not get is how some players, or rather their coaches, decide 'how much is too much'? What are the boundaries, where do we draw the line? The case of Bengal's Under-19 Hockey Team is the perfect example of 'taking things too far'. Bengal Hockey Coach Asks U-19 Players to Shave Head as Punishment for Match Loss pic.twitter.com/aLnrok4JBK — Gurpreet Singh (@Gurpree46492633) January 21, 2019 During the 2019 Junior National Championship (Division B) taking place in Jabalpur, Bengal 1-5 to Namdhari XI in the quarterfinal, post which their coach, Anand Kumar, allegedly forced every member of the squad to shave their heads clean for losing the game. Out of the roster of 18, all but two players refused to give in to their coach's preposterous demand and did not get their heads shaved. One of the players who didn't get his head shaved said, that the Kumar threatened to do the same even after they won their first match against Gujarat just because they “didn't play well.” However, there is a flip side to the story as well, in which the coach absolutely denied all allegations and said that the students who did go bald, did it completely voluntarily and out of repentance for playing badly. He did admit to scolding them and saying something about 'shaving their heads' off, but clarified that he said that in frustration and on the spur of the moment. As soon as the story broke, the Bengal Hockey Association officially announced a three-member committee to carry out further investigation. "I will speak to the players once they are back from school. Necessary steps will be taken," said Manmeet Singh Goindi, Director, Sports Authority of India.
  21. The festival Uttarayan in Gujarat welcomes many people to celebrate it amidst the quaintness of the city. Along with a myriad people celebrating the festival, the custom of kite flying is an added addition. Thousands of kites lurk around the sky and unfortunately become death traps for birds who're flying along the same plane as the kites. The 'manjha' is the abrasive string that's used to fly kites and in more ways than one it serves as an entrapment for birds, who get caught within the string and either get injured or die while struggling to get out of the holds of entanglement, in numbers. Kites that are coated with powdered glass are extremely dangerous for birds, and every year we find mutilated pictures of different birds due to the manjha. In 2017, 3,000 birds were left injured and 500 dead due to this and the numbers keep increasing every year. © Twitter The festival-frenzied population show very little concern or empathy towards this grave problem but we have a few NGOs working in rescue and relief operations for these birds but it falls short each time. But this year things are going to go a little differently and Gujarat has made it possible to drive the point home by launching 'Karuna Abhiyan', a state-wide campaign that will help protect birds during the kite festival. If compassion has a state of mind, it's definitely amidst the people who've thought of such a generous deed to save the bird species from injuries and death. The district administration of Ahmadabad is heavily involved in the safe-keeping of all the bird species and its collector Dr Vikrant Pandey is personally overseeing the campaign is successful, in the city. © Twitter Because the NGOs collectively couldn't find a final resolve about this grave issue, 2,023 volunteers from different NGOs have signed up with Karuna Abhiyan to find a solution to this problem and they've managed to save 4,506 injured birds so far, in the past two days, post the festival! “Karuna Abhiyan has been a very successful campaign. The birds, which got injured during Uttarayan are being treated so that they can fly again. They will be kept in the shelter for few days till they fully recover,” the IAS officer told the local news media. During the festival about 11 rescue and rehabilitation centres were set up, along with about ten ambulance services, around the city to aid birds who were hurt and injured. © Twitter The fact remains that people came forward and helped rescuing close to 5,000 birds who fell from the sky, absolutely injured and in a helpless state and NGOs and rehabilitation centres were put forth around town to make a difference to their lives and give them a new one, after they were looked after by trained professionals. “Several of our vans went around the city, holding awareness programmes in schools and societies about the damage that kite strings can cause to birds. We also taught them how to attend injured birds and call for help,” said Mukesh Bhati, founder of a local NGO who was helping with the rescue missions. © Twitter We're really proud and honoured to even write about such big-hearted beautiful people, who selflessly went out of their way to form a community for compassion and love and help rescue birds who otherwise would have fallen to their death instead.
  22. Over the years, we've heard way too many bizarre claims relating to science which won't ever be scientifically accurate in a million years and now, we have a new one to add to the list. G Nageshwar Rao, the Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, claimed that India had the knowledge of stem cell research, test tube fertilisation and guided missiles thousands of years ago, using Mahabharata and Ramayana as examples. Yep, all of that has been in our country for years - in fact, thousands of years - and we never even knew! Well, I guess you learn something new every day. #WATCH: GN Rao,Vice-Chancellor Andhra University at Indian Science Congress y'day in Jalandhar:How come Gandhari gave birth to 100 children?Stem cell research was done 1000 yrs ago in this country,we had 100 Kauravas from one mother because of stem cell&test tube-baby technology. pic.twitter.com/C9nlaYwB7p — ANI (@ANI) January 5, 2019 This all went down at the 106th Indian Science Congress in Jalandhar. He said, “We had hundreds of Kauravas from one mother because of stem cell research and test tube baby technology,” Rao claimed. “It happened a few thousand years ago. This was science in this country...Mahabharat says, 100 eggs were fertilised and put into 100 earthen pots. Are they not test tube babies? Stem cell research in this country was present thousands of years ago.” Did you know that Ravana had 24 types of aircraft of different sizes and capacities and had several airports in Lanka? Yeah, me neither. This scientific breakthrough, obviously, had people on Twitter talking and here's what everyone's saying. Why? 23. Durga Singh's Karan and Arjun are back and showing the whole world how to spend a perfect Sunday - by watching their own movie 'Karan Arjun' together after 23 years. Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, Bollywood's Baadshah and Sultan, were chilling together and walking down the memory lane, when most of us were busy watching 'Sooryavansham' for the 1234567th time on TV. Honestly, I have seen Hira Thakur drink that damn poisoned 'kheer' so many times, it doesn't even bother me any more. Film Kraft Anyway, coming back to Bollywood's OG brothers, Salman posted this video on his social media today, where he is watching 'Karan Arjun' with SRK at a party. 24. Christmas is celebrated globally and pretty much marks the end of the year. Everyone is in a relaxed mood, schedules are filled with holidays and everyone just wants to relax. Seems like the holiday season now extends to "artificial" beings as well. Amazon's Echo smart speakers went down across the network on Christmas Day, with thousands of people reporting that the company's artificial intelligence assistant Alexa appeared to have gone on a festive break. © Amazon Amazon recently reported that it had sold "tens of millions" of the Echo range of smart speakers powered by the company's AI assistant Alexa. It's simple to conclude, a lot of people opened their presents in the morning, fired up the speaker and asked it way too many questions. It's natural for all of us to play around a maximum time when the gadget is new, and this flood of new users downed the servers. Thanks to the tens of thousands, or maybe even millions of commands coming in from all over the globe, the system just couldn't handle it. Even Alexa had it with humans and decided to be Absent Without Leave (AWOL), and I'm sure HR folks at Amazon weren't very excited about it. Oh dear. Red ring of death #alexa pic.twitter.com/aPqlE6LUX5 — Angus Fox ð´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ (@nuxnix) December 25, 2018 Multilingual Alexa, who has more than 70,000 different skills, told over 100 million jokes in 2018, but people were less than impressed with her Christmas day stunt. Rather than give the desired response, when the system crashed at about 10 am, Alexa said: "Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding you right now." Though, the system was slowly back on track by the end of the afternoon. Replying to a query on Twitter, Amazon said they were aware of the issue and a technical team would resolve it within 12-24 hours. © Outage(dot) report The Amazon Echo speaker has a ring on the top, it usually is blue in colour, but turned red on Christmas Day. This obviously, wasn't planned to match along with the festival, but a sign that Alexa is unable to connect with the server successfully. The system wasn't globally down as many users in the U.S.A reported no issues while the most affected seem to be UK and Italy. The Amazon Echo Dot was Amazon's most popular gift in the lead up to the holidays.
