  1. On Thursday, when Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings came to play at Jaipur's Sawai Mansingh Stadium, it wasn't just another match of IPL 2019. It was a match that saw a fan-idol duo turn into rivals, in order to inch closer to winning the IPL trophy. We're talking about Riyan Parag, who made a promising debut with Rajasthan Royals; and MS Dhoni, who is leading CSK from the forefront. Twitter This 17-year-old cricketer hails from Assam and was all of six, when he first met and clicked a picture with his idol MS Dhoni. In fact, when MS Dhoni made his international debut in 2004, Riyan was 3. Fast forward to the present and Riyan not only made his IPL debut but also played against MS Dhoni. Cute!#RRvCSK ##IPL2019 pic.twitter.com/IrXAtEZsrs — Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) April 13, 2019 In fact, on Thursday Riyan got out scoring 16 runs after he was caught behind by Dhoni. Ever since the two met, this picture of their 'then and now' started circulating on social media and is now making people go crazy. Twitter Riyan is a right-handed batsman and leg spinner, who was also a part of the Indian team that won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2018. He also featured in two tests for the Indian U-19 team in England and holds the record of the second fastest 50 in U-19 after Virat Kohli. Twitter Riyan's father is Parag Das, a former cricketer and mother is Mithu Baruah, a national level swimmer.

  4. A majority of people on the planet are always in the constant mission to lose weight, however, not all get highly satisfying results. via GIPHY Talking about hurdles when it comes to weight loss, the first one is actually sticking to a diet. However, while you may stick to a diet if you have immense dedication towards your goal, you will still face the problem of hunger. When you go on a calorie deficit diet or reduce your calorie intake from your current diet, your body starts craving for more food. via GIPHY Since you were earlier consuming more food in your routine, your body becomes accustomed to it. Now when you deprive it of those food items, the hormones in your body will send signals for cravings and you will feel hungry throughout the day. Chances are that you might even give up to these cravings sooner than later. via GIPHY So in this article, I am going to tell you a few strategies that will help you to minimize these cravings so that you can stay on track for your fitness goals: 1. Eat More Protein via GIPHY Consuming more protein in your daily diet will help you to curb your hunger as your body has to spend more time to digest protein. Another important role of protein as a macronutrient is to help your body in muscle repair. via GIPHY Thus it makes more sense to include food items that are high in protein in every meal of the day. When I say protein, I mean protein food and not supplements like Whey. Whey protein is digested rapidly so it may not have the same satiety factor as natural sources of protein. Thus try to include more natural form of protein like chicken, Eggs, Tofu, Cottage cheese etc. 2. Drink More Water via GIPHY While you may think that you are hungry for food, chances are that you might actually be thirsty. This happens with the majority of people who do not consume enough water throughout the day. via GIPHY You need to make a conscious effort to consume enough water so that you are not confusing thirst with hunger. Try this, when you feel hungry just after a few minutes of consuming a meal, have water. Trust me, you will realize that you weren't actually hungry. Also, drinking sips of water every now and then help a lot in regulating your hunger. 3. Consume Calorie Sparse Foods via GIPHY Those quick snack bites like biscuits and namkeens may satisfy your hunger immediately but it won't last for too long. Similarly, sugary drinks and colas add up to your calorie intake but do not provide ample satiety factor to keep hunger at bay. Whenever you consume any of these food items you will start feeling hungry immediately after some time. Thus, they are a poor choice to satisfy your hunger. via GIPHY Instead, you should always choose fibre dense food like brown rice, Oatmeal etc which have enough fibre to make you feel less hungry over time. High volume foods that have enough fibre will take time to digest and thus give you more satiety factor. 5. For all who swear by Uber India, another episode of verbal harassment killed the sweet joy-ride for a woman and her husband, who'd taken the cab on a hot sultry day in the national capital. The woman, Amrita Das, who is a Delhi-based-journalist, experienced lewd comments and misbehaviour from the Uber driver, while she and her husband were travelling in his cab. She took to Twitter to share her ordeal. © Twitter "Rude and creepy driver. I demand action. First, he refused to turn on the air conditioner, then says garmi lag rahi hai to aage mere godi me baith jao [If you are feeling hot then come and sit on my lap]. He also ended the trip, moments after starting to drive and forced me out. This is when I was with husband," she tweeted. @Uber_Delhi @Uber @Uber_Support rude and creepy driver. I demand action. First he refused to turn on ac then says garmi lag rahi hai to age mere godi me baith jao. He also ended trip moments after starting to drive and forced me out. This is when I was with husband. @DelhiPolice pic.twitter.com/qE40ib3B5d — Amrita D (@amritadas) 19 March 2019 And yes, Uber did respond to her Tweet but it was not the kind of response we were hoping for. They said: "We're so sorry to hear about this. Our team has recently responded via email. Please reply there if you have additional questions." We're so sorry to hear about this. Our team has recently responded via email. Please reply there if you have additional questions! — Uber Support (@Uber_Support) 19 March 2019 This isn't the first time an Uber driver has shown misconduct towards a female passenger in Delhi. There have been numerous cases reported of women being molested or being talked back rudely to, while riding an Uber. Just recently Mallika Dua encountered an Uber driver who chose to abuse her when she asked him to increase the temperature of the air conditioning. But this incident with Amrita Das is a new low altogether, wherein the Uber driver isn't just insulting her request, he's being lewd and inappropriate with her as well. Although, Uber has received the complaint, just like always, their complacency over this matter will also rule the roost, just like the rest of them have in the past. They probably won't take action against the driver and he'll carry on driving in the city, passing horrible remarks to other women who hail his cab. © Twitter The need of the hour is for Uber to step up on their hiring operations and also take vital responsibility towards several complaints they receive about their drivers. The drivers should be thoroughly scanned before they are hired and if they misbehave, they should definitely be fired, on the ground. We're not sure why Uber dictates such apathy towards these issues but we're hopeful they'll change their ways soon before something more drastic happens. Meanwhile, Twitter came out in support of Amrita and this is what most of them had to say: Worst part is..Uber doesn't have an emergency contact number in India.. happened to us as well...hope you are okay.. — Naren (@shipsdeet) 19 March 2019 This is serious. No response from @DelhiPolice @DelhiTrafficPol ? Don't hesitate in filing a police complaint. @Uber_Support Do you not verify drivers' credentials before hiring? @Uppolice and @uptrafficpolice also need to look into the matter, since the car has no. plate of UP — Half Expert (@akul_nishant) 19 March 2019 @Uber_Support Taking this particular driver as reference, I'd like to know how do you ensure something like this does not happen again? Is he going to be let off with a warning? Or sacked? Or sensitised? What are the concrete steps you're taking to make your riders feel safe? — Abhishek Sinha (@raptorhands) 19 March 2019 Sick and tired of @Uber_Delhi drivers. No action taken even after having multiple harrowing experiences. Sack this driver! — Dylan San Delo (@theparambhole16) 19 March 2019 Uber has gone worst in NCR. If u'd ask to turn on AC, they'll lecture you on whether. Cab drivers in their 'prime category' are even worst. — Piyush Hans (@HansPiyush) 19 March 2019 That's why girls still hesitate to travel alone.. When will this change ð — Divya Sharma (@DivyaSh92292336) 19 March 2019 Why @DelhiPolice u aren't responding U must learn from @MumbaiPolice who are prompt in responding to public calls, they respond to even every smallest tweet — âsâ (@arieotic) 20 March 2019 Sorry from @Uber_Support isn't an answer. @DelhiPolice must take action against the driver. https://t.co/ENCI3ty20t — Mohd Mustaquim (@Mustaquimm) 20 March 2019 This is genuinely a very common occurrence. Uber should definitely suspend such drivers. — AARUSHI005 (@Aarushiwith2As) 20 March 2019 The most pertinent question though is when will women feel safe in this city? Put aside single women travelling alone, even women travelling with male companions face such threats too. Unless Uber India decisively takes action against their drivers, the situation's not going to change for sure.
  6. Abhay Deol has been MIA for a while. However, that is what sets him apart from everyone else in Bollywood, we think. There's this inexplicably charming nonchalance about everything he does - right from not making an effort to get along with the maddening B'town crowd, to not being hesitant in the least while speaking up about important issues like the obsession with fair skin. © © Instagram/Abhaydeol He is never in the limelight but sneakily went through an amazing transformation that should most certainly bring him under it. © Instagram/Abhaydeol © Instagram/Abhaydeol He has been hitting the gym a lot, and it clearly is working wonders. 7. Well, you can hate them or love them, but you know you've never been able to ignore them because we've had no option but to keep up with all the Kardashians and the Jenners. The women from these two powerful clans have carved an iconic name for themselves in the world and Kylie Jenner has done much more than that, as she has basically created history. View this post on Instagram @PAPERMAGAZINE A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on Feb 19, 2019 at 12:49pm PST According to Forbes and the latest news report, Kylie Jenner has dethroned Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and is now the youngest billionaire in the world. 8. If you have a beer belly bulge that you're not very proud of, then you've come to the right place. The annoying commute of everyday life might leave you with no time to work out and take care of yourself. This means you might end up with racoon eyes and a particular bulge that you're not very proud of. While long term solutions might range from taking care of yourself, your skin and adopting a healthy work out sesh, the short term solution is simple, which is to dress in a way that completely hides the bulge. Here's how you can do that. 1. The Posture Matters © livestrong Firstly, before we start telling you what to wear and what to avoid, you need to get your body posture right because that greatly impacts the visibility of your bulges. So nix crouching and slouching like a couch potato and start sitting up straight and standing upright. 2. Nix Tight Fitted Clothes © manhoodtv If you've gained weight recently, it possibly also means you've outgrown your current size that you wear in clothes which means you should nix wearing tight fitted clothing. It's time to get your sizes right and wear the right size that helps hide the belly. So avoid wearing those tight tees that highlight your belly or tees and that lift from the back when you sit or bend and display your handles. It's really that simple. 3. Nix Extremely Loose-Fitted Clothes Also © Getty images At the same time, you don't want to wear extremely loose fitted clothes also. These can be counterproductive in the sense that they exaggerate body fat instead of hiding it. It's very important to get measured and stick to your size. 4. Stop Believing In Myths About Belly Fat © Getty images You can pull off anything as long as it suits your body. It's a myth that light colours won't suit you. If you get the right size of these colours and combine it with a fitted counterpart, they will definitely work. For example, a light blue shirt would work for you if you pair fitted trousers with it. However, if either of the sizes is off, the pair can be counterproductive. 5. Always Choose Mid-Rise © Getty images When buying trousers, choose mid-rise that fits well around your navel. This will attempt to conceal your belly fat by pressing it in. 6. Layering Helps © Getty images You must've heard this one before but layering is a really good technique to conceal belly fat. So, a shirt over a t-shirt or a scarf in the Summer work great. In the Winter, choose shrugs, jackets, long coats that streamline your figure and conceal the fat.
  9. What usually comes to your mind when you hear the word 'Doctor'? An elderly, pleasant looking gentleman with probably a paunch and kind eyes who either comforts you with his kind eyes or creeps the living daylights out of you with his evil grin (but that's the stuff from horror movies). Anyway, when that imagery is challenged by someone who even remotely falls outside of that category, they tend to leave a lasting impression. Especially, if they go right ahead and look like they stepped out of a model catalogue or the cast of Grey's Anatomy, they deserve to be applauded because hey, it takes a lot of effort to establish oneself as a doctor. Clearly, Dr Rodrigo Sapo has what it takes, and more. He looks like a muscled, bearded model who spends his waking hours in the gym instead of a hospital, and that doesn't even begin to describe what he looks like. Here are 10 pictures that shows why patients line up to get check-ups by him, even when they are not ill. 1. 11. Love may be the most powerful feeling known to mankind, but more than anything else, love is a celebration. A celebration of the life we love and are grateful for. A celebration of loving ourselves for who we are, and how far we have come when it comes to living our dreams. And if we are lucky enough, a celebration of finding the person who seems to make life so much more better by simply being in it. So, to love is to basically celebrate the joy and happiness we find with someone else that we didn't even know existed! They just happen to walk into our life one fine day, and bam, nothing remains the same anymore. © Keshav Suri Love is like that added sprinkle of pepper and oregano on the pizza, it is so extra but makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Much like the added sprinkle of squabbles, random fits of laughter and dizzying rush of affection, being in love brings into our life. Keshav and Cyril's heady relationship has been nothing less than a similar celebration. It's full of spice and sprinkled with moments of unceasing fun and laughter, which makes Keshav extremely grateful for the best ten years of his life that he got to share with his French husband Cyril Feuillebois. © Keshav Suri And since love follows no single language or religion, learning about this union between Keshav and Cyril has been a wonderful experience. Lalit Hotels scion Keshav Suri is more than just that, he is a son, a brother and a loving husband apart from being a champion for the LGBTQ community, since his writ in the Supreme Court against Section 377 changed the future for an entire community. This is his story and we are more than proud to share it with you. Chance may have led them to their first meeting, but Keshav remembers it like it was yesterday. Keshav recalls the first time he met Cyril and says, “I distinctly remember it was the summer of 2008 – June, when Cyril and I met for the first time at a party at the 24/7 Bar at The Lalit New Delhi, and both of us felt a connect.” © Keshav Suri Though Keshav and Cyril instantly hit it off at the party, they couldn't spend more time with each other since immediately after their first meeting, Cyril went to Goa. Reminiscing about that time, Keshav says, “though it was June, I followed him. One day, Cyril hired a Vespa and asked me to join him for a ride. I was apprehensive but, our eyes met and I could easily trust him. It was there, in Goa, where we realised, this was meant to be, that we shared something special.” Yet, of the many memories that the couple has made together, for Keshav, the day he and Cyril exchanged their vows and promised to be with each other, surrounded by their family and friends, remains his most precious and favourite memory. © Keshav Suri In Keshav's own words, here's how the day looked like, “one of the most memorable experiences of my life was walking down the aisle during our recent Goa celebrations. My Sister Shradha played dhol, while other sisters – Divya and Deeksha and Cyril's sister-in-law, Jennifer walked us to the aisle.” He also points out that the women in the couple's life have come as angels in disguise. “The women in our family are amazing! Both nature and professionals were in sync to make it picture perfect. Our mothers officiated the ceremony. At sunset, we exchanged vows and garlands in front of a transgender high priestess. The exchange of rings and sunset were perfectly timed. Everyone was teary-eyed during our vows, even we were very emotional”, shares Keshav. © Keshav Suri In the years that Keshav and Cyril have been together, there have been many moments which stood out, many landmark moments they achieved as a couple. Yet, when asked about their biggest milestone, Keshav would give you this heartfelt response, “my writ in the Supreme Court of India to revoke Section 377 and the journey of it reading down has been a huge milestone for us and the country. It would not have happened without my partner and my family's support. And our marriage recently in Paris and celebrations in Goa, which I am sure is a milestone in every relation. I truly value what we share and am glad to have taken the plunge.” © Keshav Suri That almost sounds as much as an ardent love confession, as it was a highlight the couple had the joy of sharing together. But obviously, there is a lot more than just memories that Keshav and Cyril have shared together in the time they have been together. And trust us when we say it, it has been the perfect blend of love and spice. Keshav admits the same himself, “Life together has been a rollercoaster ride, with much fun, laughter and some lifetime experiences. We've travelled around the world together and ticked off life goals. I've always felt at home with him. We have 3 children together – our dogs – Pacco Westwood, Edith Jagger, Maggie Dench and working hard to see them through college.” © Keshav Suri And regardless of the rollercoaster ride that life has been ever since the couple got together, Keshav cannot stop gushing about the love of his love for the kind of person he is, and what Cyril adds to his life. Talking about how proud he is of his husband, Keshav tells us, “Cyril is an extremely private and a creative person. Despite that, he stood by my decision to file a writ, which meant our lives will be in the public eye. The fact that he just lets me be, and is not at all judgmental and nothing anyone says or does shocks him. I am proud of his courage and his love for our country – India. © Keshav Suri But, of course, we also had to be cliched and ask Keshav what love and his relationship with Cyril has taught him, on the occasion of Valentine's Day, and Keshav, being a sport said, “this relation has filled my life with laughter. Even after ten years of being together, we have the ability to make each laugh. It has taught me to be happy and spread love, warmth, positivity and happiness.” © Keshav Suri Valentine's Day may or may not mean something to you personally, but it becomes especially hard to be immune to all the love and warmth that's in the air and in people's hearts today. We hope that whether you're single or in love, the stories in '14 Days of Love' inspire you to love and spread the love all through the year.

  13. There isn't much that hasn't been said about the greatness of Mahendra Singh Dhoni as a player. He is one of the greatest batsman, knows how to win games for his country, is the most successful captain of the Indian cricket team and probably has the best reflexes as a wicket-keeper too! But MS Dhoni, in person, is equally phenomenal. From running a charity for the betterment of the financially backward students to showing his support to the Indian Army by holding friendly matches, the proceedings from which contribute to the better conditions of the 'jawans' at border, Dhoni has checked all the boxes for the prerequisites of being India's favourite son. Patriotism for the former captain is deep ingested in his heart. Prided with the position of Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army, Dhoni had once said: Once my cricket career is over, I would definitely like to serve in the army”. The love for his country seems to be guiding every action of the cricketing star as on Sunday, during the third and final T20I match between India and New Zealand at Hamilton, Dhoni's (almost) reflexive actions prevented the Indian tricolour from staying on the floor. Fan gives flag to Dhoni...!! pic.twitter.com/yxlNzXcsZ4 — Videos Shots (@videos_shots) February 10, 2019 Watch as one of Dhoni's millions of fans was able to rush past the security and onto the field just so he could fall on his idol's feet in love and respect. The fan happened to have a small Indian flag with him which Dhoni instantly picked up as the fan dove to the cricketer's feet, preventing the disrespect it would have meant. What's more is that while other sportspersons get finicky about fans running towards when with an object (which is totally understandable), Dhoni greeted the fan in white properly before he ran away clearly overflowing with joy as the security guard followed him in pursuit. Used to praising MSD for something or the other almost every single day, people once again took to Twitter, this time, to commend Dhoni's patriotic gesture: Dhoni never keep Flag on his helmet as he had to put it down for sometimes sums up this â£ðð»!! 14. Whenever it comes to styling outfits be it formal or casual wear, every little detail matters. Your outfit can be one to remember or a hit-and-miss, all because it wasn't accessorized well. Accessories like your belt, socks, jewellery, shoes play a vital role in taking an outfit from basic to next level. Accessories are often taken as an optional thing when it comes to putting an outfit together. Often we don't realize the errors that we make while matching one's accessories. Such a minimal step can transform your whole look and be the difference between a plain old meeting and a kickass first impression. Here are 4 guidelines one must consider sacred when it comes to matching accessories: 1. Match Your Belt To Your Shoes © Instagram @kartikaaryan Let's start with accessory basics, shall we? Most men know this rule already but do they actively consider it while dressing up? Here's why this is a crucial step in accessories. You need to match your belt to your shoes. Like a black belt, shoes should be worn with black shoes, a brown belt should be worn with brown footwear. Making the look uniform in colour keeps the aesthetic on point and makes you look professional. 2. Select The Right Tie © Instagram @ishabhansali Matching one's tie to their outfit is an essential step. Any old tie thrown on a shirt wouldn't compliment your outfit unless it goes with the colour scheme of the look. The right tie should stand out but have some elements of the theme of the outfit. Be careful while choosing a printed tie and remember to go for darker colours as they are more versatile. Also, your pocket squares should match your tie in some way or the other. Be it the same colour, print or pattern. 3. Matching Metals Is A Thing Too © Instagram @alifazal9 Yes. You read that right. Be it the frame of your glasses, watch, cufflinks or belt buckle, metals play an important part in making your outfit look as coherent as possible. Make sure it's all from the same metal family as shiny objects draw attention and are easily noticeable. This step would add finesse and symmetry to your outfit. Mind your metals, lads! 4. Choose The Right Sunnies © Instagram @vickykaushal09 Sunglasses are not just for the sun, they contribute an extra layer of style to your outfit. Choose your sunnies according to the setting you're planning to wear them in. The tint of your sunglasses should compliment the colour scheme of your outfit and make you stand out. Choose a rectangle or an aviator in a light tint for formal occasions and reflective sunglasses in a round or wayfarer style for more casual outings. See? It's the little details that separate boys from men.
  15. Sometimes, you really just can't help the expressions you make, and it happens even more when you're literally wrestling with someone. Then, the expression can be so funny that it turns you into a meme. That's exactly what happened to Brock Lesnar during a match on Sunday. During the WWE Royal Rumble match, Lesnar defeated his opponent Finn Balor via submission after just under nine minutes in the middle of the ring using his Kimura lock and a meme was born. His victory was also a victory for the internet as he had the most hilarious expression. 16. Since school days, we've been taught how to properly tuck in our uniform shirt. But how many of us are actually doing it right? As simple as this sounds, it can make a world of a difference in your look. A man can go from drab to fab just by following a few simple guidelines that come with tucking your shirt in. The goal here is to educate you about whether to tuck in or not for all kinds of shirts that exist in your wardrobe. 1. Always Notice The Hemline © ishabhansali Shirts that have flat, even hemlines are meant to be worn untucked. But if the shirt has visibly different length variations at the hem, rather than being even all the way around — it should always be tucked in. If your shirt constantly keeps slipping out when tucked in, it was probably not supposed to be tucked in. The ideal length for an untucked shirt should be when it hits the middle of your back pocket or the zipper of your pants. 2. What Kind Of Shirt Are You Wearing? © vickykaushal09 There's more leeway when you're wearing a t-shirt, a turtleneck shirt or any other kind of shirt in terms of tucking. Polos, Hawaiians and undershirts should be worn untucked. Golfers, however, make an exception with tucking in their polo shirts for a more dressier look. T-shirts shouldn't be tucked in unless it's a particular style statement you're going for. Turtlenecks can be tucked in if worn under a blazer or a suit, but on their own just leave them untucked. 3. Consider The Occasion © twitter @r_khanna Is it a wedding? An interview? A business meeting? Dinner with your spouse's parents? Well, you should definitely tuck in your shirt for these. Adding a bonus rule here, if you're wearing a tie for the said occasion, tucking your shirt should be your first instinct. On the contrary, bachelor parties, barbecues, drinking at the local pub and sports events don't really count for occasions you need to tuck your shirt in for. 4. Observe The Layers Of The Outfit © ishabhansali If you're planning to wear a suit or a blazer over your shirt, there are a few observations you need to make. If the shirt you're wearing has a collar, tuck it in. A sweater shouldn't be tucked in unless it is of a really thin material. The fabric of the shirt matters too. Shirts in casual fabrics like denim and linen are better worn untucked, while wool and poplin shirts are more appropriate tucked in. Well, now you know how to navigate your way through the tricky world of shirt-tucking.
  17. The leopard print has an undeniably important niche in world fashion, and some would argue, that it's been overdone. In fact, memes like 'Guess who's the only one who can carry off the leopard print without looking stupid? A leopard' has been doing the rounds for the longest time. Some love it, some loathe its existence. Of late, designers all over have been trying to go a little easy on the print, unless they are into hardcore maximalism. No wonder we haven't had a lot of it in men's fashion for the longest time. However, who's the one person you'd trust to bring back a dead aesthetic, other than the quirky tiger of fashion himself? Ranveer Singh did not cut corners while reviving it, and went for it full on, just like one would expect him to. He wore a head-to-toe leopard print outfit at Umang 2019. 18. A good beard is an asset, and every man wants one (well, almost). But the trouble is, it's not something you can buy. You have to grow it and the situation isn't exactly even like growing muscles, which you can manage by working out and following a proper diet. Growing a beard can be a challenge if you're not gifted, and most people try to avoid being hit by this truth-bomb. Plus, some personal habits coupled with an intense disregard for patience result in super slow beard growth for some unfortunate souls. Keeping that in mind, we have compiled a list of 7 things one should strictly avoid doing while growing a beard: 1. Excessive Trimming © Birchbox There is a beard myth that says the more you cut/trim your beard, the faster it grows. Please don't pay heed to such myths. If you don't let your beard grow out physically, it just won't. It's that simple. 2. Using Hair Shampoo On The Beard © Beard Style The composition of hair shampoo is not suitable for your beard. It will strip your beard of its natural oils, and give rise to dry, scraggly strands of hair, which will definitely hamper healthy growth. 3. Not Washing It Altogether Or Washing It Too Often © Scotchporter The beard is a tricky territory, because it's a patch of hair that's located on your face. Your face needs to be kept clean (duh!) but it must be done without causing damage to your beard. How do you do it? By coming up with a beard cleaning cycle and sticking to it. Use a good beard wash/beard shampoo to wash your beard instead of soaps/hair shampoos, but don't do it too often. Depending on the growth and density, washing your beard every alternate day or once in three days should be fine (provided you don't let food get stuck in it or roll around in the mud, face-first.) 4. Ignoring The Existence Of Beard Oils/Softeners © Fatherly As Indian men, more often than not, we attach minimal importance to grooming. Please don't let your beard suffer because of that. Use beard oils and softeners to facilitate a healthy growth. They do work, if you use them religiously. 5. Not Brushing Your Beard © Balding Beards Brushing your beard, irrespective of its size will make it grow with a proper shape. Plus, brushing improves blood circulation at the beard base, thereby resulting in much faster growth.
  19. We attach a significant amount of personally identifiable data to our social media profiles daily. I regularly use social media to share photos of my kids and holidays. I post my personal thoughts on products I've used and TV shows I've watched. I'm even tagged in location-based check-ins. It's all there in my news feed for anyone to see. I'm not alone. More and more of us live our lives through the prism of social media. We share things we love, things we loathe and things that make us laugh. With just a few clicks, you can discover a lot of information about a person. More often than not, you can see where they work, where they live and what school they went to. Scrolling through their timeline often reveals their stance on hot topics such as gun control, the current President and other recent headline news items. This information follows you when you join a Facebook Group. Your past Tweets are always available to trawl through. Indeed, there may be some groups that you decide you cannot post in as people would be able to identify you. This is particularly true for stigmatised conditions, such as financial help, illness and mental health. After all, if you were seeking help with a large amount of debt or managing an embarrassing medical condition, you wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that work colleagues, friends and family could read your posts. The benefit of anonymity for stigmatised topics "Forums can all offer some initial anonymity, a community, and information that geographically proximate others may not have. What stigma-related forums uniquely offer is that the anonymity protects those who are not ready to be publicly associated with sensitive topics; the community helps to neutralise the “spoilage” of identity that accompanies stigma." (1) Unlike social media where reams of personal data is willingly added, and which can identify you to other online users, forums allow you to add as much information as you are comfortable with. Support communities for mental health and illness flourish using forums for this reason. An individual may feel devalued in society and unwilling to share their condition over social media. "Nowadays people can both avoid and proactively cope with this devaluation by turning to online forums populated by others who share the same devalued group membership." (1) Forums offer a safe space for these individuals to seek and receive support from others without disclosing large amounts of identifiable data. Allowing a level of anonymity encourages more people to register and over time, they will develop ties with other users. For an individual with a stigmatized condition, a forum may be a real life-line in coping with the condition as face-to-face support is often limited. Adrial Dale, who owns Herpes Opportunity agrees. "In order for us to truly be able to work through the shame that stigma can trigger, it's absolutely vital for us to feel safe to open up and tell all. Through opening up, we not only get to share with an understanding and compassionate community (which normalizes our shared experiences), but we're also able to begin to release what has felt like our own solitary burden to bear. Then a magical thing can happen ... an alchemical process that transforms shame into an opportunity for connection. An opportunity for us to be accepted for who we are *behind* the thick wall of shame. And ultimately, an opportunity to accept ourselves. Especially in these days of the internet not feeling so private (even in places where it absolutely should be), having true privacy and anonymity is paramount for communities like Herpes Opportunity. Anything other than that is grounds for paranoia and holding back from sharing ourselves. (In fact, just the other day someone messaged me asking "Are private messages really private?") Fear can lead to closing ourselves off, which can lead to isolation and paranoia, which can lead to a downward spiral of self-loathing and depression. On the other hand, safety, connection and compassion creates an an okayness with the nitty-grittiness of what it means to be human." The benefit of expressing a new identity "People may strategically express identities when they think they will not be punished, and/or connect them to an audience that is valued." (1) It is arguably true that not so many years ago, tech-related communities were very much male-dominated, with female contributions valued less. Forums allow a way to create a new identity that is either gender-neutral thus allowing the male users to assume a gender, or overtly male to ensure their contributions are evaluated on merit, and not with any gender bias. Christopher Marks who owns Nano-Reef has seen this first hand. "During a discussion with a women’s group in our generally male dominant hobby, a number of women had expressed the benefit of having an anonymous username and profile when asking for help and advice on forums, they receive equal help without the unfortunate gender bias or belittling that can sometimes happen in real life when seeking the same help in person." Invision Community's Jennifer has also experience of this on her own community; RPG Initiative. "RPG Initiative is a community for all roleplayers. We focus on all text-based roleplaying forms that are hosted on the internet. We encourage roleplayers to find each other, discuss roleplay and grow as collaborative writers here at the Initiative in a safe environment." Jennifer relies on, and encourages anonymity. She knows that because her site is predominately female, some female users identify as male to increase the chances of getting others to collaborate with them. "Male players are rare, in fact, I recently ran a poll on my site and of those that responded to it less than 15% of them are male (or identify as such). So this gets them more attention and in turn, more people that want to write with them." Jennifer explains how anonymity is critical to her site's growth. "Anonymity is a difficult thing to accomplish in a small niche like mine, but it's sort of like a small town where everyone knows everyone, and they likely know all of your secrets. So enforcing rules to preserve anonymity is really important to my community and me. This includes prohibiting the "naming of names" or the "site" that the drama is coming from when seeking for advice or help. This doesn't negate that people may know the existing situation or people involved because they are also involved or know some of the people involved, but it helps cut down on the drama and the spread of negativity and false information about people." With a forum community, you can truly be who you want to be. This is not so with social media where others can create bias based on your gender, looks or topical preferences. Together, together "In her early work, Turkle argued that the internet provided myriad positive opportunities for self-transformation, but more recently, she argues that the explosion in social media options has led us to develop superficial, emotionally lazy but instantly available virtual relationships." (1) It's hard to argue against this statement when you consider the content that predominates social media. And often an endless stream of self-focused content. "Indeed, we provide clear evidence that online forums afford users a way of being genuinely “together, together”, as opposed to what Turkle calls “alone together.”(1) The bottom line is that it has been proven that allowing a degree on anonymity increases engagement across all niches, but especially those that are built to support those with stigmatised conditions. These forums have a greater sense of community and depth than those built on social media. When you allow your members to take back control of their privacy, you are empowering them to make decisions about what to share. Given how eroded our privacy is in our modern always-connected world, this is a precious gift. If you are looking to create a new community then consider this before choosing your community platform. 20. We all know that as soon as a movie releases, a pirated version of it is available online almost immediately. I'm not saying it's right, but it's inevitable. But to fight the piracy of their movie 'Uri', the makers had a brilliant idea - just make a different version of the movie and post it online because it'll be a brilliant lesson that people will never forget. The pirated version online features a normal movie scene transition into the actors talking to the person watching telling them to go to the theatres to see the movie. In the pirated version, Yami Gautam's character says, “Surgical strikes 0400 hours pe start hogi. Unki army ko pata bhi nahin chalega kikya hua.” Then, Vicky's character turns to the camera and says, “Theek usi tarah, jaise iss waqt hum aapke screen mein ghus gaye hain. Aur aapko pata bhi nahin chala.” How freaked out would you be if Vicky Kaushal started talking to you while you're watching his movie? 21. Apple has introduced some cool and hidden features on iOS which you can find deep within the settings menu in iPhones. You can check out all the hidden iOS 12 tricks we found during our tests here. Having said that, there's a new tip going viral that allows users to use their iPhone as a microphone if you own a pair of AirPods. It works even if you are far away thanks to the Bluetooth technology on board. If u have AirPods ð§, u can press “Live Listen” to “On” and leave your phone in the room with someone and u can hear what they saying, thank me later𤫠pic.twitter.com/fC6KYmqpB4 — arnold (@arnoldcrndo) January 9, 2019 The feature was spotted on Twitter and is called “Live Listen” which basically turns your iPhone into a listening device. The person who tweeted about the feature said that it could be used as a way to cheat on a test. © MensXP After checking out the feature for ourselves, “Live Listen” is targeted towards people with hearing loss. It was introduced in a software update in September for Apple's AirPods and basically lets people with hearing listen in via the Bluetooth enabled earbuds. Basically, after turning on the feature you can point your phone towards the person you want to hear speak. You basically get to hear what the person is saying through the hearing aid feature on the AirPod. Apple describes it as "Made for iPhone hearing aids, sound processors, and now AirPods can help you have better conversations in loud places. Just turn on the Live Listen feature and move your iPhone toward the people you're talking with.¹ Live Listen uses the microphone to pick up what they're saying more clearly.” Here's how you can turn on the “Live Listen” feature: © Twitter Go to Settings Control Center Customize Controls. Turn on Hearing. 2. Put AirPods in the ear and open Control Center 3. Tap the ear icon, it should say “Live Listen” 4. To get clear audio, place the iPhone's chin facing the person to hear what they have to say. It is unclear if Apple is already aware of the situation, and if it will do something about it. Perhaps can bring in a new update where it would play a sound to alert people around the phone that the Live Listen feature is activated. For now, please be responsible and respect other people's privacy.
  22. Sports mirror the society and just like any other aspect of culture, it can act as a mechanism for both societal and political change in a country. Sports provide us with an opportunity to cheer and boo; it motivates and deflates us, and it has the capability to bring joy and sorrow in our lives. Thus, it plays an important role in shaping, modifying, and creating a culture while affecting the lives of millions of its fans. The biggest example is a country like India, where the population is so obsessed with cricket that whether it's a family dinner or a casual outing with friends, no conversation is complete without mentioning the gentleman's game. Over the years, we have been celebrating the geniuses of numerous cricketing stars who left a lasting impression in our lives with their exemplary performances. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, to name a few, have etched their name in the history books for their respective feats in the cricketing world. But, as much as their skills, it was also the demeanour of the Indian cricket team of that generation that garnered respect and admiration from fans. As all good things, must come to an end, so did the careers of the gentlemen of Indian cricket. And, what followed later was an all-out aggressive approach incorporated by the new-age Team India under the leadership of Virat Kohli. And, to be honest, there's nothing wrong with playing a sport with a bit of aggression. The Australians have thrived on it for years which played a pivotal role in their dominance in international cricket. © AP But, how much is too much? A question that has been lingering in the back of the minds of many fans and pundits before being nullified with positive results raked in by Kohli & Co. Flaunting their tattooed arms, funky hairdos and chiselled physiques, the new generation of the Indian cricket team has surely set new standards, beginning a new culture for their fans to follow. And, even if many still feel that those things might be a distraction, the fact is, as long as the on-field performances of these cricketers are not getting affected by their lifestyle choices, they're probably doing fine. However, the notion, many dreaded for, finally became a reality when Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul came on the recent episode of the popular show 'Koffee With Karan' where misogyny and sexism reached a whole new level, probably for the first time (involving cricketers) on national television. More than Rahul, it was Pandya who appeared boorish in his remarks aimed at women. Among the multiple things that left viewers shell-shocked, Pandya did his reputation no favour by claiming: "I like to watch and observe how they (women) move in the club. I'm little from the Black side, so I need to see how they move". The Baroda cricketer was either painstakingly honest (which further makes us question his character) or downright stupid in objectifying women on national TV while answering to Karan Johar's query as to why he doesn't ask women their names in the club. © Instagram/@hardikpandya93 If his personal opinion made the viewers cringe, Pandya further rattled everyone by claiming: “When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, 'Main karke aya hai aaj (I had *** today)'". And, then, what followed later, "At a party, my parents asked me 'acha tera wala (women) kaun sa hai (who is your interest here?)' so I said 'yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women)' and they were like 'waah proud of you beta',” made us question his upbringing. I mean, no matter how accepting or understanding your parents are, I'd like to believe that no parent would tell their kids that they are proud of them, especially when they are interested in, not one, but multiple partners. Someone should have told the immature cricketer that the women are neither trophies nor are they to be brandished as possessions. As soon as the show was aired, it came as no surprise to see cricket fans from every corner of the country coming out all guns blazing against Pandya on the social media. And, it took Pandya four days to realise that he had been insensitive in his comments on the chat show. We knew a comment or clarification was around the corner, but what the Indian cricketer wrote on the social media was not even a responsible statement, let alone an apt apology. pic.twitter.com/O0UlpFm43o — hardik pandya (@hardikpandya7) January 9, 2019 "After reflecting on my comments on Koffee With Karan, I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments. Respect," Pandya wrote on Twitter following the backlash over his remarks. He had already tarnished his image as a youth icon with his comments on the show, but the Indian cricketer still had a chance to make it right with his apology. But, sadly, the boorish attitude that irked the fans after watching him on the chat show, once again reflected in his so-called apology, that lacked responsibility on his part and acknowledgement of his mistake. His casual approach in the apology, where he conveniently claims to have gotten carried away with the nature of the show, makes for nothing more than just shifting the blame rather than owning up to his actions. If someone has followed Pandya's career so far, they'd agree that the youngster struck a chord with cricket fans for rising through the ranks on the back of relentless life struggles. From overcoming financial hardships to stepping up for his family at an early age, Pandya has been an embodiment of success, derived through hard work and perseverance. Even when he stepped up his style quotient (no matter how flamboyant it may seem), Pandya, still, was looked upon as a household boy who was finally getting his due following his persistent efforts. © Instagram/@hardikpandya93 But, sadly, all those things mean little to the fans now, thanks to his distasteful, misogynist and sexist comments on the show and an irresponsible apology which followed later. Sounding like Kim Kardashian of the cricket world, Pandya boasted of 'conquests' and possessions like a Desperado, unlike a cricketer and definitely not in sync with a youth icon. For someone who was introduced by Karan Johar as 'tomorrow's hopeful future' on his show, the 25-year-old still has a long way to go to fit that bill. And, if we cannot expect a cricketer like Pandya to be more responsible in his demeanour off the field, then all the 'Me Too' campaigns and women empowerment drives would mean nothing in our society.

    When Delhiites Move To Mumbai

What goes through the the mind of a Delhiite when they move to Mumbai? A lot, we're sure. Here's a look at what happens to Delhi boys when they move to Mumbai.
  24. Loki has always been a fan favourite Marvel villain and Tom Hiddleston is just a small part of it. Everyone loves the character and people even loved the 'evil' Loki, but a new development is suggesting that he might have never even been evil, he was probably never even a villain. A good day for all Loki stans, isn't it? For the theory, we have to go all the way back to the first 'Avengers' movie. Remember Loki's sceptre given to him by Thanos? We know that it can be used to control the minds of other people, and we saw that when Loki used that on Hawkeye and Erik Selvig, but what Loki probably didn't know was that it can also influence the person using it. Wonder why Thanos failed to mention that? Oh right, because the purple giant is the worst. We also know now that the sceptre also contained the mind stone, which is able to override one's thought, making Loki just as susceptible to its power as anyone else. And, this isn't just a theory anymore. Some fans noted that Marvel confirmed this theory on the official character page for Loki, and yep, the Mind stone did corrupt Loki, it's canon now. Here's the excerpt from Marvel's official website: “Arriving at the Sanctuary through a wormhole caused by the Bifrost, Loki met the Other, ruler of the ancient race of extraterrestrials the Chitauri, and Thanos. Offering the God of Mischief dominion over his brother's favourite realm Earth, Thanos requested the Tesseract in return. Gifted with a Scepter that acted as a mind control device, Loki would be able to influence others. Unbeknownst to him, the Scepter was also influencing him, fueling his hatred over his brother Thor and the inhabitants of Earth.” So basically, Loki wasn't the villain of 'The Avengers' at all. He was just as much the victim of the Mind Stone as anyone else, and there's now an explanation of why his character changed over the course of movies. I mean, all he wanted in 'Thor: Ragnarok' was a sugar daddy and live his best life as a sugar baby, that doesn't really sound villainous. The angry, self-righteous grape, now that's the villain we should all hate!
