Hira Mani’s husband Salman Sheikh all praises for wife as he lauds her acting prowessPakistani actress Hira Mani’s husband Salman Shaikh sang praises for wife and called her a ‘brilliant brilliant actor’. Salman aka Mani’s comments came a day after Hira was nominated for best actress at Pakistan International Screen Awards for her outstanding performance in drama serial Do Bol. Mani talking to Instagram shared photo of Hira and appreciated his wife. He wrote, “Pakistan mai shaiyad he koi hou jissnay As a Host start kiya hou Comedy kee hou ,Showbiz mai aanay sai pehlay Shadi kee hou 2Bachoun kay baad Serious acting mai top position hasil kee hou (There is hardly anyone in Pakistan who started out as a host, did comedy, got married before entering the showbiz and achieved top position with serious acting roles after having two children)” He went on: “u have achieved everything in limited time... 4. Imagine you are getting married to the love of your life and on your wedding day, you find out that she cheated on you with your best friend. Or that your husband ran away with your girl friend. While even the mere thought of it will pain a lot, nothing can come even remotely close to the pain that imam from Uganda is going through. Two weeks into his marriage, this imam found out that his wife was actually a...man. Honestly, we don't even know whether it counts as cheating or not, but it's outright bizarre that it took him two weeks to figure that out. We have so many questions right now, but more than that we feel so bad for this guy who not only lost a wife but also got suspended from his duties for absolutely no fault of his. © Twitter 27-year-old Sheikh Mohammed Mutumba, who was a cleric at the Kyampisi Masjid Noor mosque, got married to a woman called Swabullah Nabukeera in a traditional Islamic ceremony, in December. All was going well, until two weeks later his wife was caught stealing their neighbour's TV and clothes. When the cops were called and a female officer started searching her, that's when he got caught and the guy confessed that his real name is Richard Tumushabe. Reportedly, he married the imam to steal his money. Now I am sure you're wondering how did the imam never find out about his wife's 'obvious' secret? Well, according to him, he and his wife never had any sexual relationship because his wife said she was menstruating. What's more, his wife also "refused to undress while they slept". The guy even fooled the imam's friends and relatives since she usually wore a hijab, and "had a sweet soft voice and walked like a woman". Poor Mutumba never realised he got married to a man, he is now traumatised and needs counselling and he also got suspended till the matter is getting investigated. The world truly is unfair. 5. American comedian Kevin Hart's wife breaks down in the middle of an episode from the latest Netflix docuseries revolving around his life. The docuseries focuses on his personal life and includes the recent events, including his cheating scandal and the Oscars drama that he went through. The series titled "Kevin Hart: Don't F**k This Up" has grabbed a lot of eyeballs mainly for his wife, Eniko Parrish's revelations about how she found out about the scandal. According to her, Parrish was seven to eight months pregnant when the bombshell was dropped on her courtesy a DM. "How I found out was a direct message (DM). I don't know who it was," she said. "They sent me an edited video of Kevin, and you know, another woman... I was pregnant at that time. I was about seven or eight months pregnant. I was having breakfast, I opened my phone and immediately and I just lost it. I called him, I'm crying, I'm like pissed. Right then and there, I kept saying, 'How the f**k did you let that happen?'" Parrish said she felt Hart had "publicly humiliated" her. She spoke about how it felt suffocating that the entire drama surrounding her husband was on Instagram. Parrish recalled how "it was an ongoing fight all the time" and that she had told her husband that if this was what he wanted to do, she couldn't be part of it. However, her baby was what helped her "maintain a level head" at the time and she kept worrying about her family. Parrish said she wanted her child Kenzo to be able to grow up and get to know his father hence she forgave him. She credit Hart by saying "he's a better man now because of it [scandal]". The actor had admitted to cheating on his wife in 2017. He had written a lengthy Instagram post on how Hart had "put myself in an environment where only bad things can happen and they did". In a later scene from the documentary, Hart can be seen with his wife and child. He can be heard in the voiceover saying: "The toughest thing was just telling my wife. That conversation was a tough conversation. There was no easy way to have that conversation." The actor said that the worst part of such a behaviour was knowing how it made others, closest to someone, feel. He said by looking at the effect it had on Parrish, he was able to feel her pain. "That really tore me up," he said. Hart's wife said she believes in second chances "so, as long as he behaves, we're good."

  8. For someone who once struggled to get going as a middle-order batsman, Rohit Sharma has undeniably come a long way to become one of the most destructive openers in limited-overs cricket. His impeccable stroke play and lazy elegance has often cut sorry figures for some of the best bowling attacks in international cricket. Whether it's about posting mammoth totals or chasing big targets, the Mumbai batsman has, time and again, stepped up to aid the Indian cricket team in dire situations. Known to amass runs at will, it seems that Rohit can do no wrong this year where he has appeared to be in a class of his own. The right-handed batsman recently became the leading run-scorer in One-Day Internationals (ODIs) this year after slamming his 28th hundred during India's 107-run win over West Indies at Visakhapatnam. If his artistry with the willow has earned him plaudits, Rohit's exploits off the field also seem to have struck a chord with cricket fans. View this post on Instagram Many many happy returns my love, strength and game changer. Samaira and I are proud to have such a leading light in our lives â¤ï¸ð¥°ð @ritssajdeh A post shared by Rohit Sharma (@rohitsharma45) on Dec 20, 2019 at 11:05am PST After playing a key role in India's comeback in the three-match ODI series, Rohit took to Instagram and penned an adorable message for wife Ritika Sajdeh who is celebrating her birthday on 21st December. Sharing a series of photographs, Rohit wrote: "Many many happy returns my love, strength and game changer. Samaira and I are proud to have such a leading light in our lives". Rohit and Ritika got married on 13th December, 2015. The couple was blessed with their first child, a baby girl, named Samaira last year. The two have been going strong ever since and Rohit clearly missed his wife's presence as he is gearing up for the third and final ODI against West Indies in Cuttack on 22nd December. © Reuters Rohit Sharma has been in sensational form in 2019. Earlier in the year, he became the first batsman to hit five hundreds in a single edition of the World Cup and finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer. He made a cracking start to the year with a stylish 133 against Australia in Sydney on 12th January even as India lost the first of a 3-match ODI series. He was also among the runs in a historic series win over New Zealand before hitting back-to-back half-centuries against Australia at home. In the World Cup, Rohit hit an unbeaten 122 against South Africa to help India start with a win. After a 57 against Australia in the next game, he made 140 versus Pakistan in a high-voltage game at Manchester. And then came three successive hundreds against England, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka before a rare failure against New Zealand in the semi-final which India lost. After poor returns in the West Indies after the World Cup, Rohit Sharma returned to form with a swashbuckling century - incidentally, his first at home in 2019. Rohit, who joined an elite list of Indian batsmen after crossing 11,000 List A runs during his innings, is now also the leading run-scorer in ODIs this year. View the full article
  9. It has been around five months since India was knocked out of ICC World Cup 2019 semi-finals, thanks to a brilliant team-performance by Kane Williamson and his men. The Men in Blue were the leading prospects to win the 2019 edition of the quadrennial tournament but faced a huge disappointment when their elite batting-order failed to show up in a clutch situation and faced defeat. Hard luck team india .. played a very spirited game through the tournament ðð½ðð½ the wicket of Dhoni and his walk back just broke my heart #INDvsNZ proud nonetheless ðªð½ pic.twitter.com/iGCPhIhLEU — Randeep Hooda (@RandeepHooda) July 10, 2019 And while that loss should have been the takeaway for every Indian that was a part of the team's journey during the contest, news of Bollywood actor and Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma being at the venue is what continues to be the talking point ever since. In October 2019, former Indian wicket-keeper Farokh Engineer spoke about how the BCCI selectors behaved like a “Mickey Mouse” committee and recalled that he'd seen one of the selectors bring tea for Anushka Sharma in the VIP box. “All they (selectors) were doing was getting Anushka Sharma cups of tea. I feel people with the stature of Dilip Vengsarkar should be in the selection committee,” Engineer was quoted as saying by the Times of India. Sharma, who's never been the one to react to such comments made an exception this time and called out Engineer on his comments in an Instagram post the next day. View this post on Instagram A post shared by AnushkaSharma1588 (@anushkasharma) on Oct 31, 2019 at 5:15am PDT After this post, Engineer was slammed for making false accusations against the famed actor and was made a huge ruckus out of. To further save face amidst the fans of Indian cricket, the former cricketer had to make an official statement on live television and clarify that he said all those things in the heat of the moment. MIRROR NOW EXCLUSIVE | Former Cricketer Farokh Engineer clarifies his controversial comment on Actor Anushka Sharma, says, comments are blown out of proportion and I apologise to Anushka Sharma@VirenFerrao pic.twitter.com/zULYPDvRZb — Mirror Now (@MirrorNow) November 1, 2019 Now, Exactly one month since Engineer's clarification, the Indian captain, Virat Kohli has opened up about those comments in an interview with India Today. "She came for one World Cup game against Sri Lanka and the family box and the selector box was different, and there was no selector in that box. She came for one game with two friends," Kohli said during the interview. "As I said, she is known, she's been successful at a very high level so when people take her name, it gets noticed," the India captain added. In the era of social media, the line between personal and private lives of celebrities is getting more and more blurry with each passing day and such comments made by the veterans of the game do not make it easier for people like Anushka Sharma to maintain their calm. Kohli, on the other hand, has been exceptional in keeping it together. He has not only managed to stay at the peak of his skills as a batsman and a captain but has also managed to get some time off the field and spend quality time with his family. “Cricket can't be your life for every minute of every day,” former Australian wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist had said in an exclusive with MensXp and Kohli, despite being at the centre of the game on an international level has somehow managed to maintain that. 10. Imagine this situation - a man is married to a woman who loves someone else. For his wife's happiness, the man decides to file for divorce and help her reunite with her lover. Wow, now that's a story of selfless love that we don't get to see often. I know what you guys are thinking. The last time it happened was in 1999 with Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Salman Khan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Well, you're right, but something similar happened recently in Bhopal too where a man agreed to divorce his wife so she can marry her lover and we guess it's time someone thought of a sequel to the movie on these lines. Mahesh (name changed) is a software engineer by profession who has been married to Sangeeta (name changed), a fashion designer for seven years now and have two kids. They were living happily or so the people around them thought, until one day Mahesh found out about the man his wife was in love with before their wedding. She wanted to marry him but her father was, reportedly, against their relationship and married her off to Mahesh instead. After her wedding, she found out that the guy was so heartbroken that he decided not to marry anyone else. So, they started talking and she fell for him again. This led to arguments between Mahesh and Sangeeta as she realised that she wanted to live with her lover. So, Mahesh approached a family court to file for divorce from his wife to help her reunite with the man she loves. For his wife's happiness, Mahesh was willing to let her go and live with her lover. However, Mahesh also said that he doesn't want any of these developments to affect their kids, so he filed for divorce and sought custody of the children. He further said that the wife can visit the children whenever she wants. Now, that's a really brave thing Mahesh did there. View the full article
  11. Dear men, let's get one thing straight. Unfortunately, the world has come to think that your 'male ego' is way too fragile, though it might be scaling new heights every day, given how much the Indian society loves to pump up on the patriarchal way of life. But guess what, you might be one of the rare ones who still believe in living by the outdated patriarchal diktats or you might belong to the group of real men who genuinely feel that the fragility of the 'male ego' is a societal construct, that's used as an excuse for men and their inexcusable behaviour. © i-Virgin And if you happen to fall on the right side of the story, you ought to know and identify your enemy, who's trying hard to malign and destroy all that you stand for. A brand named i-Virgin happens to be the said enemy, and here's why. This brand is selling a monstrosity called a 'virginity pill' for women that would enable them to satisfy the Indian society's need to draw blood from a woman (literally) on the “first night”. Now, in an ideal situation, this entire setup should scream blasphemy to any sane man because what this is indirectly trying to do, is save your ego from getting hurt, should you happen to fail in bagging a wife who 'bleeds' on her first night. Do you really want to be a company that allows the sale of these products? This is demeaning to say the least @amazonIN https://t.co/fy30Z1GTp7 — Arko Datta (@durbudhijibi) November 12, 2019 What does that say about you? Is your ego really so flimsy that it would shatter into a thousand pieces because your newlywed wife present you with a post-coital bloody gift? If we go by the pill's product description, it says that the pill needs to be inserted into the vagina a few hours before the 'planned night' which then does the trick in the right moment. It sells for Rs 3,100 on a leading e-commerce website in India and before you disregard the validity or usefulness of the product, let us tell you women have actually used it, and apparently love it enough to leave feedback for other interested women. Amazon says screw gender equality. Women still have to prove their virginity with these "powerful" fake blood capsules. #WTF pic.twitter.com/4Nd4JipvQc — Priya Pathak (@Priyapathakview) November 14, 2019 We wonder why in this day and age should people be concerned about a woman's virginity to even come up with such a product? Secondly, what's wrong with these women who feel the need to resort to such measures and destroy every step that has been taken by women in the fight for equality between the genders? But most of all, what's up with you guys? Did you miss you Biology classes in school or overlook the fact that a woman might not bleed during intercourse for a number of reasons that are not related to her being a virgin? Besides, so what if she isn't a virgin at all, did you marry her for her 'virgin' vagina or the woman that she is? Why do you think that she should be okay with it if you're not a virgin, but you can't live with that thought? She didn't ask you to prove it yet, did she? Then why do you want her to prove herself? Are we still in 2019? This is what we have to do to have basic dignity? Who the **** invented this??? #womenshealth #Virginity #ridiculous https://t.co/1oOcKq0JbG — Vinay Rathod (@rthdvinay) November 14, 2019 Now, if you happen to be a man who feels outraged by these implications a pill is drawing up against you, it's time to stand up and voice yourself, as well as call this pharma company out on their bullshit. 12. In what turned out to be an exhibition of sharp, skilful and precision play, Leicester City thumped as many as nine goals past a hapless Southampton side in their Premier League clash on October 26. The Foxes, owing to their massive win margin, matched Manchester United's long-standing record for the biggest win in the history of the English top-flight tournament. Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy both clinched their respective hat-tricks, while the likes of Ben Chilwell, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison also got their names on the scoresheet. Taking a 5-0 lead at half-time, Brendan Rodgers' men continued to play with the same intensity, netting four more times in the second half. © Reuters Their record-breaking performance at the St. Mary's stadium drew plaudits from every corner of the globe. But, while football fans and pundits were hailing the ruthlessness of Leicester, Vardy's wife Rebekah was busy settling personal scores on social media. It's...... Jamie Vardy #9 ðð¼ — Rebekah Vardy (@RebekahVardy) October 25, 2019 Elated by her husband's hat-trick, Rebekah used Leicester's memorable triumph as an opportunity to fire a salvo at Wayne Rooney's wife Coleen who had earlier accused her of selling false stories to an English daily. Taking to Twitter, the 37-year-old hailed her husband with a cheeky dig at Coleen. "It's........Jamie Vardy #9," Rebekah tweeted with a fist emoticon. Rebekah's dig comes days after Rooney's wife publicly accused the TV personality of selling false stories about her to newspapers. In an extraordinary rant, Coleen revealed that stories about her basement flooding and gender selection amongst others on Instagram were only viewed by Vardy's wife and they were subsequently published by media outlets. This has been a burden in my life for a few years now and finally I have got to the bottom of it...... pic.twitter.com/0YqJAoXuK1 — Coleen Rooney (@ColeenRoo) October 9, 2019 Rebekah, who is currently on holiday in Dubai, claimed that she is "disgusted that I'm even having to deny this." "Can't believe I'm even having to write this. I'm pregnant & on holiday & am at a loss to why she would do this. I'm now having to take legal advice as I can't deal with this stress myself when I'm this pregnant," Vardy's wife wrote on Instagram with a picture of an elaborate response to Coleen's allegations. Rooney and Vardy were considered good friends when they shared the England dressing room back in the day. The duo was often seen hanging out for dinner and their respective wives, too, seemed to have liked each other's company. However, things no longer seem to be fine between the Vardys and the Rooneys, especially after the bitter fall out between Rebekah and Coleen in recent weeks on social media.
  13. Following an overwhelming defeat against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) earlier in the tournament, Mumbai Indians (MI) had revenge on their minds when they hosted the Preity Zinta co-owned franchise at the Wankhede stadium on 10th April. A solid top-order batting performance by KXIP had led to an embarrassing eight-wicket loss for the three-time IPL champions at the PCA stadium. And Mumbai knew it wasn't going to be easy beating them at the Wankhede either. A 116-run opening stand between KL Rahul and Chris Gayle got Punjab to a flyer. And then, while Rahul notched up his maiden IPL hundred, Gayle's blazing willow saw him amassing 36-ball 63 as the visitors romped their way to a competitive total of 197 runs. Following Punjab's carnage, Mumbai, in the absence of Rohit Sharma, knew they needed something special if they were to avenge their defeat. Twitter/@IPL And, special it was from stand-in skipper Kieron Pollard who finally announced his arrival in the IPL this season. Leading from the front, the big West Indian, promoting himself to the No. 4 spot, arguably produced one of the most entertaining innings of the tournament this season. The 31-year-old went hammer and tongs at the KXIP bowling attack, slamming a blistering 31-ball 83 which was decorated with three fours and a staggering 10 sixes. Kieron Pollard last 26 balls: 6 6 4 0 6 0 1 6 6 2 1 0 1 6 1 0 6 1 4 0 6 6 1 6 4 W Brilliant innings under pressure! — IPL (@Icc_power) April 10, 2019 Though he couldn't finish the game for his side, falling to Ankit Rajpoot's short of a length delivery in the final over, Pollard's game-changing knock inflicted a three-wicket loss on Punjab and overshadowed the batting geniuses of Rahul and Gayle. Speaking at the post-match presentation, Pollard said: “I would like to thank God. Need to thank him for giving strength to me for doing the things that I do. Also, love to thank my wife, it's her birthday today and I want to dedicate this to her”. Twitter/@IPL “We finished on the right end of the result and thanks to God for that to. Obviously, Rohit is the captain of the team and it was only a precautionary measure for the team. He should be back in the next game. I would gladly give it back to him and field at the boundary, while also thinking of what to contribute to the team,” he concluded. After his 'Man of the Match' performance, the cricket fans were left in awe of Pollard's blitzkrieg which took the social media by storm. Kieron Pollard is back. Back at his best. 14. For a team that made a sensational comeback last season, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) appear to be on-track for glory as they continue to go past one opponent after another in the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 'Yellow Brigade' had already recorded four wins out of their five games this season when a big test awaited them at the MA Chidambaram stadium against table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 9th April. Many had doubts over Chennai's ability to overcome KKR and, more importantly, halt the menacing Andre Russell who seems to be in a class of his own this season. But, in front of the home crowd, Chennai once again proved why they are three-time IPL champions. Handing the visitors only their second loss this season, Chennai didn't just managed to contain Russell (in their own capacity), but eventually pulled off an emphatic seven-wicket triumph to bolster their title defence. © Twitter/@IPL The victory, derived under the leadership of pragmatic skipper MS Dhoni and on the back of a collective team effort, propelled CSK to the top spot with 10 points in their kitty. For the way it panned out, Chennai's win wasn't really hard-fought but such is the IPL schedule that it barely allows the cricketers to rest. Following his team's triumph, MS Dhoni's social media post, the very next morning, showed how difficult it is for these cricketers to keep up with the pace of the tournament. With their next clash against Rajasthan Royals (RR) scheduled to be played on 11th April, Dhoni and his teammates barely had any time for a breather as they boarded a morning flight to Jaipur from Chennai. View this post on Instagram After getting used to IPL timing this is what happens if u have a morning flight A post shared by M S Dhoni (@mahi7781) on Apr 9, 2019 at 9:36pm PDT With the game against KKR finishing off in the wee hours, Dhoni was visibly short on sleep which probably explains why he was seen sleeping on the airport floor alongside his wife Sakshi. In a post that he shared on Instagram, Dhoni and his wife were seen catching some sleep on the airport floor with their kit bag playing the role of a pillow. "After getting used to IPL timing this is what happens if u have a morning flight," the CSK skipper captioned the photo. The same picture was also shared on the official Twitter handle of CSK and the cricket fans couldn't stop themselves from praising MSD and Sakshi for their humility. pic.twitter.com/rvBxtSL3h9 — YuvaraJ (@yuvaraj_kathir) April 10, 2019 He is the right person for the quote " Be Simple Be Sample " pic.twitter.com/sAGak2RE83 — Suresh Kumar J (@sureshkumaar77) April 10, 2019 Bhaiya and Bhabhi so cute jodi.. 15. Amazon founder and world's richest man, Jeff Bezos, has finally settled the long talked-about divorce with wife MacKenzie Bezos, making it the world's most expensive divorce ever. Earlier this year, on 9th January Jeff Bezos took to his Twitter account to announce the couple's impending divorce, after 26 years of marriage. pic.twitter.com/Gb10BDb0x0 — Jeff Bezos (@JeffBezos) January 9, 2019 While the announcement stated that they would “continue our shared lives as friends,” the final divorce settlement, which was finalised a few hours ago, hasn't come at a marginal cost. L'Oréal's Francoise Bettencourt Meyers is the world's richest woman with 52.9 billion dollars to her name, while Walmart's Alice Walton is the second-richest with 45 billion dollars in her bank account. All in all, MacKenzie Bezos would be the world's 26th richest person after her expensive divorce from Jeff Bezos. © Twitter We wonder where this leaves Jeff Bezos now. It has been announced that Jeff will continue to retain 75 percent of his stock in the company following the divorce. The divorce shall not take away Jeff's influence over the workings of Amazon. He will continue to be the largest shareholder in the company. © Twitter While Jeff Bezos is one of the world's most successful businessmen with Amazon, MacKensie, too, is an accomplished author who won an American Book Award for her debut novel 'The Testing of Luther Albright'. We wish the couple well for the future that awaits them.
  16. We Indians are the most 'Desi' beings of the lot. No matter where we go, and what we do, we always carry a bit of our history, culture and desi-ness with us everywhere. And honestly, we pride ourselves on it, just as we should. While there is no shame in being your Desi-est self at any given point, it also comes with its own set of drawbacks. Drawbacks such as the ones that can destroy your international travel plans, or worse, make your passport invalid for future use. Imagine going through the same, arduous drill of applying for a passport at the local passport office. Scary, right? © Thinkstock/Getty Images Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to a Kerala local when his wife decided to put her Desi-ness to extreme use on his passport, by turning it into a handy, easy-to-carry phone book and grocery list! In a video that is doing the rounds on social media, a young man can be seen showing an Indian passport that belongs to his father, and describing what has happened to it in his mother-tongue. Turns out, his mother used her father's passport to carry out the most desi thing ever. Scribbling phone numbers on its pages. What's more, the last few pages of the passport turn into full-fledged grocery shopping list! © Facebook Even though he later adds that it was his father's old passport, this still shouldn't be taken lightly, because old as well as new passports are equally important, and shouldn't be defiled or meddled with in any way.
  17. Will the real Melania Trump please stand up? No actually, for real. Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory and this one involving the US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump is a little too weird. In short, people online are convinced that Donald Trump brought along a body-double for his wife Melania and the woman in the picture is not actually FLOTUS. Yep, instead of people tweeting about #FakeNews and Donald Trump, the new big thing is #FakeMelania. While all these wild conspiracy theories are almost always bullshit, the proof for this one is right here and it's honestly a little convincing. Both of them recently visited communities in Eastern Alabama to pay their condolences after recent tornadoes hit the area claiming the lives of 23 people. This picture of them basically restarted the entire theory which first surfaced two years ago. 18. Losing a loved one is the most painful thing I can think of, and unfortunately, all of us have to go through it at some point in our lives. But, no one can understand the extremities of that loss like the people who work in the Defence, and their families do. Yesterday, the last rites of Squadron leader Siddharth Vashisht, who died in a Mi-17 chopper crash in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district, were performed with full military honours in Chandigarh. His family, including his wife Squadron Leader Aarti Singh and other fellow officers, were present to bid farewell and mourn the loss. His wife stood in full uniform as his father lit the funeral pyre. The Air Force personnel present gave a gun salute in the presence of officials from the IAF, the civil administration and all the people who turned up to pay their last respects. People couldn't help but salute Squadron Leader Aarti Singh's bravery at this difficult time while mourning for him. Her head was held high, as she clutched the tricolour to her chest, and the internet hailed her stoic spirit. 19. The brave men, who guard our country, lose sleep so that we can sleep in peace and also sacrifice their lives for the love of the nation, deserve more than just our respect. No amount of love or words that one pours to thank our soldiers can suffice the work they do for this country. However, it's not just them who make this sacrifice. One cannot even imagine the strength their family members show in enduring the risk of sending their bravehearts to the border. It is not easy being a wife of an army officer but it is an honour for sure and Gauri Mahadik is one such hero who is proving to the world that she is a woman of steel. She is the wife of Major Prasad Mahadik, who was martyred in 2017 at the Indo-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. While life definitely must have stopped for a while for this brave woman, it definitely didn't deter her from facing it with all the strength she had. Gauri is now all set to join the army herself as a tribute to her brave husband. Gauri will be inducted as a lieutenant in the army once she completes her training in Chennai. Gauri cleared the service selection board (SSB) exams and qualified for the rank by actually topping the exam with great score. Talking about some kind of serendipity and a beautiful twist of destiny, Gauri was allotted the same chest number (28) which was also allotted to her husband when he was undergoing his training. She is a qualified lawyer who quit her job to pursue this dream in memory of her husband. It is stories like these which fill your heart with strength and courage and make you believe that every storm is followed by a rainbow.
  20. Following a crazy bidding war last December, the twelfth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set to enthral cricket fans as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) host Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the opening clash on 23rd March. With the opening match pitting two of the biggest cricketers Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni against each other, the fans have already begun placing their bets on their favourite team on the social media. Despite the general elections coinciding with the upcoming IPL season, the fact that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has carefully ensured that the matches are played in India, further cheered the home fans. With IPL 2019 just a month away, the buzz amongst the fans in anticipation of the upcoming season appears to be at an all-time high. ð¨ Announcement ð¨: The #VIVOIPL schedule for the first two weeks is out. After going unsold at the auctions last season, Ishant's improved performance with the Indian team in Test cricket helped him in finding a suitor in Delhi Capitals who fought with Rajasthan Royals in the bidding war to secure the services of the seamer for Rs 1 crore. 21. Once upon a time, a few centuries ago around 1631 AD, a man decided to make the memory of his wife immortal, and thus the Taj Mahal was created. The monument became emblematic of the love and devotion Shah Jahan felt for his deceased wife Mumtaz Mahal, and over the years the monument turned into the epitome of undying love. But even though things are a lot different today in the 21st century, and especially the way we love and express it has undergone some major transformations since the 17th century of Shah Jahan, some essence has remained the same. © MensXP People continue to fall in love, and though they have even found some of the strangest ways of expressing it, some things, such as a husband's love for his wife and concern about her well being continues to remain a constant through the years. Vikas Bagaria's love for his wife Srijana is proof of one such modern act of love, which may not involve erecting a marble monument for the beloved, but involves launching an entire movement to improve the personal hygiene situation for not only his wife but lakhs of others women too. Who Is Vikas Bagaria © MensXP Born into a family of businessmen, Vikas Bagaria is an entrepreneur and angel investor, who holds a MCA in Electronics from Jadhavpur University, Kolkata. He started his first venture right out of college in 1997, but is better known today as the founder of female personal hygiene spray 'PeeSafe'. However, Vikas has also been an angel investor in over 15 startups so far. The Backstory Vikas often finds himself in the company of men and women who are curious as to why Vikas takes such personal interest in the area of female personal hygiene, and Vikas is quick to establish the moment that gave birth to this venture. “My wife Srijana and I were on a road trip from Gurgaon to Gujarat. But when be reached Ahmedabad, she fell sick and had to be admitted into a hospital. She was diagnosed with acute Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)." © MensXP This diagnosis made the couple look at their entire journey more closely. They had stayed in the best hotels and eaten in the best restaurants, and yet Srijana contracted UTI. This made Vikas realise that clean doesn't mean sanitised, and became a cause of personal concern for him. “This gave us the idea of making a product that could be sprayed on a toilet seat, would kill germs and reduce the chances of UTI all at once for women. That is how PeeSafe came into being when I was looking for new ventures to soothe my investor's impulse.” PeeSafe Then & Now © MensXP There once came a point in Vikas' journey with PeeSafe, when he wanted to go back to his older projects, which were doing well and were professionally managed at the time. He was almost about to sell PeeSafe when his friend Dheeraj Jain came on-board as the co-founder of a new company called Redcliffe Hygiene which now owns PeeSafe. But the biggest challenge were people's mindset. Vikas' friends and relatives simply couldn't wrap their heads around why a man would want to create something related to women's hygiene. But Vikas only had a plain and simple response to that, “why can't men make a product for women? Why can't he for she?” © MensXP Past this initial challenge, PeeSafe is today available at across 3000 stores around India, and the brand has also launched internationally in countries like Nigeria, Singapore, Kenya but now they are planning to go all out and launch production in first world countries too. What's Next The expansion plans are in top gear, and with their hygiene partnership with 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' and with famous faces like Akshay Kumar and ace shooter Manu Bhaker as their ambassadors, the brand plans to achieve a lot more in the times to come. © MensXP With close to 65 people on and off the ground associated with the brand directly, PeeSafe wants to become “a generic term for female hygiene”. And if there was one piece of advice Vikas could lend to budding entrepreneurs, it's that “keep doing what you are doing, be honest to yourself, be a job provider, that is the biggest satisfaction. And when it comes to funding, don't celebrate funding, celebrate exit because that's where all the money is.” Learn more about the trade secrets and valuable lessons, from the man himself in this video.
  22. If you're a Game of Thrones follower, you'd know by now the last and final season is almost two and a half months away. While we can't wait for April to come, we're also ardently following all the gossip that surrounds the last season ,especially about how it ends. There are countless theories so far and we're wondering which one of them might be true! (c)Warner Bros Television While us commoners may not know what lies ahead, the 'Game of Thrones' actors, on the other hand, surely know what's in the offing and they don't shy away, while talking about it with their friends and significant others! Yes, this is exactly what happened when GoT's Jon Snow aka Kit Harington revealed the ending to his wife Rose Leslie and what happened after, was well, quite unfortunate! (c)Twitter During a radio talk show Kit Harington revealed that Rose Leslie asked him how the series ended. Being the good and honest husband that he is, he told her the ending. But right after, Leslie certainly didn't fancy the ending much and things went sore between them when she didn't talk to Harington for 3 days! "I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn't talk to me for about three days. And she'd asked!" said Kit. (c)Instagram While we're not sure what he may have told her but we're sure it was something that truly disturbed her and her mood was upset over it. Either that or the ending was absolutely unexpected and she realised she shouldn't have asked Kit for it, regardless. We're just really hoping hard though that Kit is still alive at the end of season 8 and that's not the reason Rose was upset in the first place. Rose Leslie is definitely still very much attached to the show, as she played a wildling called Ygritte, who also happened to be Jon Snow's love interest. It's understandable why she would be upset with Kit and not speak to him for three days. Not a favourable ending, assumably? (c)HBO Kit in the interview was asked, if he as an actor liked the ending of GoT, to which he said he can't reveal much and can't even state whether it's a happy or a sad ending! "It's quite nice walking around, which will only happen for a few months before everyone's seen it, knowing. I know and no one else does. I know how it wraps up. I think it's gonna be groundbreaking" he said. (c)Warner Bros Television While there is no news about season 8 leaks, we also know extra precaution has been taken to keep that from happening, especially at the locations where the show was shot. In fact, sometimes they even shot fake scenes to confuse the onlookers a little. Well, by the looks of it all, we're under the assumption the ending is quite groundbreaking indeed and something really unexpected and we really can't wait to watch the final season, coming out in April 2019.
  23. Every man who is a part of the armed forces and serves the country has a story behind his journey. The story depends on his walk of life and how he perceives it, to fulfil his duties. Compassion is an ardent part of any army-man's life, without which protecting one's nation is absolutely redundant. An altogether heroic and compassionate stance was also taken by Major Shashidharan Nair before he breathed his last at the LoC last week and we're as gutted as we're proud about his story, to keep up all his responsibilities well intact. (c)Times Of India Major Nair was a native of Khadakwasala and studied from Fergusson college in Pune. He was a kind and compassionate soul, full of love and armoured responsibility and he did his best to fulfil the ones he wore proudly on his shoulder. One of them was obviously love and he met the love of his life, Trupti in Pune through some mutual friends. Their friendship nurtured into love and they soon got married to fulfil their dreams together. Trupti was a working woman with a masters in computer application and Nair boasted of being a 'captain' and they started living their life like they had planned to. But it wasn't easy for them. It never really is, is it? (c)Twitter Just a few months into them being engaged, Trupti was diagnosed with multiple arteriosclerosis. Arteriosclerosis is the hardening and narrowing of arteries which can lead to heart conditions and strokes and that's exactly what happened with Trupti. Everyone around Nair was against him getting married to someone suffering from a disease like that, but love made Nair stick to his guns and he finally married Trupti in 2012. But their happy married bliss was short-lived, when a few months into their marriage, Trupti suffered a stroke, which paralysed her lower body completely. (c)Twitter But that never deterred their spirit to love each other unconditionally and stand by each other through thick and thin. especially for Nair, who was a constant pillar to her weaknesses--both physical and emotional at the time. Their love story stands out as a well known romance in the army and everyone remembers their love and the fondness they had for each other, very well. They would often attend parties together, with Major Nair wheeling Trupti or carrying her in his arms, throughout, with valour. (c)Twitter Unfortunately, like I said it wasn't easy for them and their love was short-lived. Before joining back on duty on January 2nd, Major Nair took leave to spend a month with his wife. He went back to the LoC where he was posted in Nowshera, Jammu & Kashmir. Trupti being a concerned wife was a little sceptical about his posting there, but he like any ardent and caring husband promised to be back home soon. And he did live up to his promise. But not like how we'd expect him to. (c)Twitter Turns out, the promise he made to his motherland overpowered the one he made to his wife when he laid down his life for the nation, while on patrol on the LoC. He was the victim of coming in between an IED (improvised explosive device) laid down by terrorists there, and he breathed his last, at that very moment, with another Indian army soldier. (c)Twitter His body arrived at the National War Memorial in Pune, wrapped in the tricolour and Trupti sat there, quietly, bidding her pillar of strength a final goodbye. (c)Twitter His demise broke many hearts. His family and friends were left devastated but that's the thing about the men in the forces. Somewhere deep down you have to know that one day they may never come back and finally make peace with that fact. I believe Trupti did the same. Although, she counted on him to return and be with her and share a happy life but somewhere inside her heart she knew he may never return and she would have to carry on with life without him. That's the power of love. Withstanding every challenge that may come your way and step up and be invincible together, for as long as two people can and we definitely found that invincibility in Major Nair and Trupti.
