  1. With great power comes great responsibility, sure. But with great money comes a whole lot of questions, and perhaps the most important one is âwhat should I be splurging on?â Thereâs a whole universe of choices out there if youâre an A-lister in Indian business, sports or entertainment - fast cars, luxury rides, finely crafted accessories and heck, why not throw in a private yacht or jet for the heck of it? Here are some of the most desirable purchases recently made by Indiaâs elite, and why we want to get our hands on them. Krunal Pandyaâs Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow Yellow Gold Oyster - Rs 89.90 Lakh © Instagram Like his younger brother Hardik, all-rounder Krunal Pandya has a fondness for bling of all kinds - fast cars, slick fashion and some seriously exclusive taste in timepieces. Heâs often been spotted wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow Yellow Gold Oyster - a timepiece worn by international celebrity royalty ranging from comedian Kevin Hart to musicians John Mayer and Post Malone. Every time you flick your wrist to check the time, you also get a glimpse of Rolexâs proprietary platinum-gold alloy - studded with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds. Time is money, friends. Vikram Oberoiâs Ducati 1299 Superleggera - Rs. 1.2 Crore © Zigwheels Easily the most expensive bike purchase ever made in the country, this Italian crotch rocket was snagged by the Oberoi Group head honcho a few years ago in 2017. Lean, mean and weighing just about as much as a Bajaj Pulsar (while being over 10 times as powerful), this is just what youâre looking for if you want to go fast. Real fast. Gautam Singhaniaâs Ferrari 458 Challenge - Rs. 5 Crore © Overdrive It takes one kind of man to buy an expensive, exotic sports car - it takes entirely another to work hard at training under ex-F1 racers and become the first Indian to win a race at the coveted Ferrari Challenge Championships. The 458 is already one of the sexiest, fastest cars you can find on the road. And after slapping on some tuning upgrades and putting Raymond CEO Gautam Singhania behind the wheel, this car went on to decimate records at Buddh International Circuit. Mukesh Ambaniâs W222 Maybach S600 Pullman Guard - Rs 25 Crore © Mercedes-Maybach On the other end of the spectrum, thereâs luxury thatâs seriously out-of-this-world - the kind that Mukesh Ambani decides to treat himself with. The W222 Maybach isnât just the pinnacle of opulence on four wheels - itâs nearly indestructible as well, with bulletproof plating, underside protection against bombs or mines and even special tyres capable of running while flat. Itâs no wonder that along with the heavy price, comes a heavy weight - all this protection tips the scales at 5.1 tons. Mukesh Ambaniâs Boeing Business 2 Jet - Rs. 520 Crore © Boeing Screw first class - if owning the most expensive house in the world wasnât enough, the Reliance tycoon also happens to own one of the worldâs most exclusive and expensive private jets. Based on the Boeing 737-800, this incredible aircraft features all the luxury trimmings youâd expect, along with ultra-long ranges and extended space for passengers and baggage. Vijay Mallyaâs Indian Empress Yacht - Rs. 1400 Crore © Wikimedia If youâre looking for a way to fall asleep, start by counting off the zeroes in the net value of this luxurious behemoth. Bought in 2006 from the Qatari royal family, when adjusted for inflation, this thing is worth slightly more than a 100-strong fleet of Mercedes Benz S-Class sedans. Paintings from Mallya's personal collection adorn the walls of this mini-ship that has two master staterooms, three suites and 11 twin rooms, apart from a helipad, a gym, a salon, a massage room, a jacuzzi, an elevator and incase all of this doesnât impress you, a grand piano which once belonged to Elton John. Howâs that for bragging rights? View the full article
  2. The most complete batsman of his time. The most prolific run-scorer of all time. The biggest cricket icon the gentleman's game has ever known. A living God amongst ordinary men with the unique ability to evoke passion amongst cricket fans. Sachin Tendulkar needs no introduction when it comes to cricket. Boasting a full range of rage of orthodox shots, Tendulkar's batting was based on the purest principles - perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making and, above all, anticipation (an intangible quality, possessed by few greats, which continues to elude some of the best in the business even now). 3. The much awaited film Tanhaji hit the screens on January 10. Directed and co-written by Om Raut, Tanhaji is an adaptation of the lore of the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 between the Maratha King Shivaji and the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Besides doing extremely well at the box office, if there's one thing that people can't stop talking about, it's the multiple beard styles seen on-screen in the film. And here's the best part, you can actually get them from your local salon if you just take a picture reference. (Chances are, your barber has seen the film too which means you can get the exact look.) 1. Pornstache © Ajay Devgn FFilms Ajay Devgn's character as Tanhaji can be seen in a pornstache or otherwise known as a weighted moustache. Although the pornstar moustache has different variations, the most popular one can be defined as a thick, heavy moustache with slightly elongated ends and no accompanying facial hair. A similar version can also be seen on Ajay Devgn. 2. Short Boxed Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Uday Bhan played by Saif Ali Khan can be seen sporting short boxed beard. Now, here's the thing. A short boxed beard can be defined as a short moustache with a medium length beard as can be seen on Saif. The beard is fuller and covers relatively more surface on the face as can be seen. 3. Handlebar Moustache with Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Sharad Kelkar's character in Tanhaji can be seen in a visibly defined handlebar 'stache. But the look has been given a twist with an additional beard. If you think that a handlebar on its own is over the top, adding a beard to the picture can be a gamechanger. 4. The Weighted Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Aurangzeb played by Luke Kenny sported a weighted beard which is characterised with a relatively fuller beard with a fine moustache. This beard is the polar opposite of a weighted moustache where the emphasis is on the 'stache. View the full article
  4. Photo: fileSeveral members of the national cricket team offered their best wishes to the U19 side ahead of their departure for South Africa, where the U19 Cricket World Cup will be staged from January 7. The senior players, according to a press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board, hoped that the U-19 side would carry last year’s winning momentum into the World Cup, and advised the players to make the most of the platform as it would lead to their eventual recruitment into the national team. “I wish all the best to the U19 team. My message for them is to do well, like they have been doing recently. Help each other and believe in your teammates’ abilities,” said T20I captain Babar Azam, who was part of the U19 World Cup in 2010 and 2012. “Our batsmen and bowlers are in good shape and after having played in South Africa, I would suggest the batsmen to stay upright while batting. Enjoy this opportunity and put your heart in it as that would enhance your performances.” Test captain Azhar Ali, who was a part of the U19 team in 2002 World Cup, told the current crop to focus on unity and aggressive play. “I wish all the best to this team and advise them to stick together as a unit and play fearless cricket," he said. “Playing the U19 World Cup gives you a flavour of international cricket as the matches are televised and the players get to experience the pressure of international cricket. "It is a great opportunity for these cricketers to learn, which will certainly help them when they graduate to the senior team." Azhar praised U-19 captain Rohail Nazir and Haider Ali, saying that "they have done well at the U19 level and impressed at the first-class level too. When a player performs at the first-class level, it lifts his morale up. If these two are able to stretch their form into the World Cup, the team will benefit immensely. Recent graduate of the side, Naseem Shah, also expressed his confidence in the former team. “I was recently playing with this side and I am hopeful that they are going to do well in the tournament. They have gelled very well and possess good combinations, which will help them excel in the World Cup." “I wish good luck to Rohail Nazir and his team,” he added. Shaheen Shah Afridi, who played in the previous edition of the U19 Cricket World Cup, reminded the youngsters of the importance the junior platform. “The way this team played in South Africa and won, I am hopeful that the U-19 team will win the World Cup. “U-19 cricket grooms a cricketer. It happened with me as after the last World Cup, in which I was the highest wicket-taker [for Pakistan], I was picked up for the PSL and subsequently called-up for the senior side. “This is a very good side and I wish them all the best. I have played with Rohail Nazir and Aarish Ali and I know they are very good players.” “Pakistan have a very good record at the U19 level and I am sure this team will do very well in the tournament," said Fakhar Zaman, who played U-19 domestic cricket. “U-19 level is very important for a player and such international tours help a great deal in the development of the players as they provide crucial opportunities to rub shoulders with the best cricketers. “I have played domestic cricket with these players and they all are very talented and have proved themselves.” Mohammad Hasnain, another former Pakistan U-19 player, said: “I wish all the best to the team and hope that they will do well. U-19 cricket is a very important phase in the development as it teaches you the basics which help in graduating to the next level. “My message to the team is to work hard and eye a spot in the national side.” The Rohail-led side begin their ICC U19 World Cup 2020 campaign on 19 January against Scotland. They will play Zimbabwe U19 and Bangladesh U19 on 22 and 24 January respectively in the group-stage.
  5. The series between Monterrey and Club America was in a deadlock as the second leg of the Liga MX Championship final ended 2-1 in America's advantage. As the penalty shootouts began, a quiet Antonio Mohamed could be seen holding onto his rosary beads tightly with his head bowed in prayer. But when Leonel Vangioni, who plays left back for Mohamed's team, put the ball in the nets, the manager instantly broke down in tears. While he had won his club their fifth title, there were emotions more valuable than just the joy of winning a tournament at play here. It was the feeling of contentment. © Twitter In 2006, Antonio lost his nine-year-old son Farid in Germany when an overtaking car collided with theirs. Antonio was also on the verge of losing his leg. Farid's loss hit the Argentine hard. His wife and he decided to have no more kids and his marriage eventually broke. The only fragment of his son's memories that kept him going was a couple of promises that he had made to his boy more than 13 years ago. First, he promised to go back to Huracan and help them retain their top-division spot and second, he swore to win a title with Monterrey, Farid's favourite team in the world. © Twitter The second of the two promises was fulfilled on Monday. The past few years have been testing for "El Turco". A failed attempt to make it big in Spain and an unexpectedly disappointing time with Huracan back at home nearly broke him. Call it divine intervention or just good luck, but the timing of Mohamed getting back with Monterrey was perfect. The team's supportive response to the kind of changes the newly reacquired manager brought to the dressing room and even though it took the Rayados a couple of years to look like the team they were capable of, they finally broke free and won the title. Antonio had spent the morning of the championship finals day at the Basilica of Our Lady of Gaudalupe, north of Mexico City. He was praying for his son, his team and himself. Clearly his prayers were answered as the euphoric manager cheered on with both his hands up and a gold medal hanging around his neck. View the full article
  6. It was a dream come true for differently-abled Ali Amir when his hero Cristiano Ronaldo came to meet and play football with him. The Juventus star fulfilled the boy’s wish during his stay in Dubai. The Portuguese footballer posted a video of the boy hitting the ball with his head towards him. Ronaldo shared the video on his Instagram account saying that he was truly inspired by Ali Amir. “It was a pleasure to meet you @ali_amir_happy. A truly inspiration,” he captioned the video. Over 15 million people have watched the video and thousands others left comments within a few hours after being shared by the footballer.

  8. Life is a miracle, but life is also full of some of the most unexpected surprises. Most spiritual gurus will tell you that a full life is much like a rollercoaster ride sprinkled with highs and lows that make it worth living. You may or may not choose to agree with this, but the fact of the matter is that there are people around us, in all their fleshy and bloody glory, who will vouch for it. Cricketer and cyclist Mayur Dumasia is a living proof that life can choose to mess up our life at a moment's notice, but eventually it all boils down to whether we give up or fight back in the face of the challenges life throws our way. © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia One read through Mayur's journey through life so far, and we promise you will be more than inspired by this man who rose from the ashes to write his name in gold. The Backstory Mayur was a mere teenager at 14-years-old when a train accident changed his life forever. It was back in 2001 when Mayur fell off an overcrowded train and onto the tracks. As many as 3 train coaches ran over his arm and pushed him into a coma that lasted close to a month. When he woke up, a part of his body was missing - he no longer had a right hand. The Aftermath © Mayur Dumasia Post the life-changing incident, it wasn't the physical healing, but the mental and spiritual trauma that kept dragging Mayur down. Even though his family supported him, people looked at him differently. His dream of joining the armed forces was shattered and the constant pity messed with his head. Talking to MensXP, Mayur recalled what he went through, “I am very emotional. I have cried a lot in secret. I would hide in the bathroom and cry my heart out during my lowest moments.” Broken Dreams © Mayur Dumasia It's really true when they say that open wounds heal, but it is that which cannot be seen that is truly dangerous. The trauma and depression due to the incident and people's changed behaviour towards him began to take a toll on him. He started staying in and avoided people. That only added to his distress and he attempted to take his own life, not once but twice. The Silver Lining © Mayur Dumasia But the very fact the Mayur is still around and kicking only proves that life had different plans for him. With the help of his family and his teacher Mr Ramesh, Mayur managed to overcome every hurdle and bounced back stronger than ever. Taking about healing and the importance of mental strength, Mayur said, “Mental strength is a form of inner engineering which can only come from within. Your boosting power will never come from any other person, whether it's your family or friends. It has to come from within you.” The Big Leap © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia However, it was Mayur's chance visit to Shivaji Park as a college student that things took a new turn. “I was in college and I was visiting the Shivaji Park. People were practising there and I noticed physically challenged people playing. That's when I thought if they can do it, why can't I. In 2006-07 I started playing. I thought kuch hone toh nahi wala, but still kept practising and moving forward. Eventually I got into Mumbai Cricket Association for Physically Challenged and played the division matches. Won numerous challenges and finally got into the Indian cricket team for the physically challenged. That's the biggest highlight of my life. Even though I couldn't join the armed forces, I was happy to be able to make India proud in another way.” © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia Today, Mayur has not only ticked off biggest dream, but achieved a lot more than he had set out to fulfil. His team won multiple trophies for India in the Asia Cup and he went on to become the first Indian amputee to cycle 1670 kms from India Gate to Gateway of India in 15 days with a busted knee! Mayur has run in over 30 marathons and not just that, he even became the winner of the Bharat Prerna Award in 2018. Next Adventure © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia Currently working as an Accounts teacher at Abhinav Degree College, Mayur plans to attempt Guinness World Record to become the first amputee cyclist to journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by October 2020. His mantra is simple, “if you keep holding on to a rose, its thorns are only going to hurt you. Never hold on to your problems. Learn to let go. Every situation has two sides to it, with failures comes success. Keep at it.” What an inspiring journey this man has had, isn't it? View the full article
  9. Kartik Aaryan is no stranger when it comes to some really alluring footwear. From some of the zaniest and insane desert boots to an equally zany pair of sneakers that seemed to be held together with pins and straps, he has pulled it all off. This time again, while promoting his upcoming film, Pati Patni Aur Woh, which releases on the December 6, he was spotted in a rather cool, deconstructed, or rather, destroyed pair of boots. But first, letâs get to his outfit. Kartik is wearing a rather hipster-looking hooded sweatshirt from Hummel. The sweatshirtâs colour palette, as understated as it is, goes really well with the all-white and distressed pair of denim that he is wearing. The outfit gives him a really cool and laid back aesthetic, almost as if he is trying to emulate the appearance of a rapper. A really cool and dapper way to dress up for the street, if you ask us. Finally, coming to his shoes, Kartik is seen wearing one of the best pairs of high-top lace-up boots that we have seen this year. Perhaps, the fact that these boots have a velvet finish, is what makes them so appealing. The particular pair that Kartik is seen wearing is the 6 Inch Textile Boots from Timberland and comes courtesy of their collaboration with Off White Virgil Abloh. These Off White X Timberland Textile Boots retail for about $450 or roughly Rs 33,000 on GOAT. Primarily made of nubuck leather, the boots have a very technical and functional clothing vibe, which sits really well with most streetwear outfits, irrespective of the theme. It seems Kartik and his stylists have played around with aesthetic elements such as extra laces and the leather tags of the boot. Considering that it is these very embellishments that give any Off White and Virgil Abloh piece its value and significance, we have to say that removing them was a rather ballsy move. Well, to each his own. All weâll say is that the boots look super zany and awesome. Great going, Kartik! View the full article
  10. The first of two Test matches are over and the might of the Indian cricket team in Test cricket was on display as they defeated Mominul Haque's Bangladesh team by an innings and 130 runs in Indore. #TeamIndia go one up in the series, and that's another big heap of points on the board in the World Test Championship. Well done, boys ð¥ð¥#INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/klYjOQxCKy — BCCI (@BCCI) November 16, 2019 The Captain of Team India, Virat Kohli did not get the opportunity to add runs to his personal statistics as he was dismissed for a rare red-ball duck on an LBW appeal by Abu Jayed. However, he made sure that it wasn't a dull day for his fans who love and follow him blindly wherever he goes. Ever since this video popped up on social media, the followers of Indian cricket and those of the Indian skipper from all over the world have not been able to stop praising Kohli's heartwarming gesture. Fan moment for 24 yrs old, Pooja Sharma. I don't know her myself but the Authorities at Holkar stadium, Indore were kind enough and allowed her to meet Virat ⤠@ViratGang @ViratFanTeam@ViratKohliFC @viratliciousFC#INDvBAN pic.twitter.com/80T0O0vDRZ — Akanksha Patodi (@akanksha_patodi) November 16, 2019 As the team returned to the dressing room after winning the match on the third day, Kohli saw a special fan named Pooja Sharma waiting on one side, with a hat and a marker in her hands so that she could get an autograph. Watching her favourite player emerge out of the crowd brought a smile to the 24-year-old Pooja who waved to the Indian Captain in pure joy. Kohli bowed in front of her, signed her hat and stayed there long enough for Pooja's family member to grab some quality shots. This isn't the first time Kohli took out some time to meet and greet some of his most diehard fans. Last month, clearly a diehard 'Viratian' Pintu Behra, who has engraved 15 tattoos on himself as a homage to the cricketer was given special access to Team India's dressing room where he got a warm hug from the cricketer to go with a timeless picture. Virat Kohli With Fan Pintu Behra From Odisha #Cricket #TeamIndia #INDvSA pic.twitter.com/Dh1tyMY8Ra — CricFit (@CricFit) October 2, 2019 Yes, it is true that most of the athletes play to win games, lift big trophies and boast gold medals at major events. But there is a level of greatness above this stage where only a few people reach. That's the level at which they gain something a lot more precious than a gold medal; they get their followers' eternal devotion and Virat Kohli is right there. View the full article
  11. PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split 2019 saw the South Asian regional finals come to an end on Sunday, with two Indian teams battling for the regional championship title, after securing spots for the international finals taking place in Malaysia on November 29. © PMCO/Tencent After a triple chicken-dinner snag, Entity Gaming grabbed the top spot with 220 points, while fan-favourites SouL came hot on their heels with 210, and a single chicken-dinner. SouL's Naman Mathur, aka MortaL, claimed Tencent's 'fan-favourite' award, and addressed fans, supporters and rivals in a lengthy Facebook post. Unexpectedly, Mumbai-based MortaL not only dedicated their effort in the tournament to the Indian Army, but also announced that he would be donating his share of the earnings to them as well. According to the National Defence Fund website, donations made will primarily fund technical scholarships and the families of ex-servicemen in the forces - quite the noble cause. It's been a tense year for gaming in India - stories of PUBG addiction and even a death caused by overplaying the game have given mobile gaming a bad rap amongst parents and schools, though e-sports success stories such as these prove that there's potential for not just professional careers in gaming, but humanitarian support as well. Regarding his 'fan-favourite' award, the 23-year-old gamer said, “It feels great! I was not aware of vote stuff, but later on, Tencent guys came to me and handed over the goodies saying that you have won the fan-favorite award on the website.” View the full article
  12. The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd wired in-ear earphones showed up for review at a time when the 3.5mm headphone jack is becoming obsolete. Seriously, I didn't think I'd be reviewing wired in-ear earphones in 2019. But you know what? It's earphones like these that make me want to use smartphones and other audio equipment that have an audio jack. Trust me, I've been using the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd earphones for the last couple of weeks to listen to all my music, both when I am just chilling at home and on the go, and I've been loving it. Let me tell you all about it - Design & Build Quality In terms of the looks, these look like very basic. You see, Beyerdynamic has been making audio equipment for a long time now. Their products are best known for audio quality, not much for the design aesthetics. It's one of those brands that focus on performance over looks. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer So when you look at the Beat Byrd and give it a listen, you'll quickly realize that the company's objective was to make a piece of hardware that's more functional. The earpiece housing is made out of plastic and you get silicon ear tips. There are no fancy rugged braided cables to be seen here and all you get is a cable made out of rubber. These also happen to be one of the most affordable products from the company, which explains why it doesn't look all that fancy. They're certainly not going to grab any attention like, say, the AirPods do, but the audiophiles around you will definitely appreciate your choice. Also, they're supremely comfortable. I literally had them on for multiple hours the other day without experiencing fatigue. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer And since we're talking about the build quality, I think it's a good time to point out that these earphones lack a remote or mic. So yes, you won't be able to take calls or switch/ play/ pause music. It'll obviously come as a surprise for most people, but that shouldn't really bother you if you're picking these earphones strictly for listening to music. Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd Audio Quality Before I talk about the audio quality, I'd like to point out that it's extremely important to pick the right size of ear tips for a snug fit. That's how you'll be able to enjoy the music and get the most out of this pair of earphones. In fact, that holds true for all the earphones, because if they don't fit well enough, then you're not going to experience bass. The Beat Byrd comes with a couple of ear tips inside the box, so be sure you play around with the fit before jumping into music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer That's the first thing I did before listening to any music and boy was I surprised by the audio quality. Alright, I am not going to say that these are best sounding earphones or headphones that I've ever used. The 1More Quad Driver earphones and the Sennheiser HE 1 still take the cake for that, but the Beat Byrd is certainly one of the best wired in-ear earphones I've used in my recent memory. I started listening to my usual Spotify playlist to get an idea of how good they are. But as soon as I connected it to my Pixel 3a XL and popped them in, I was quite surprised by the audio quality. And that's when I started exploring more music, going back to my old playlist to find some classic funk and hip-hop music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd is a pair of bass heavy earphones. If you're not into them, then these aren't for you. But one of the things that I really liked is that the bass had more depth than I had expected. The way they're tuned is extremely warm and friendly, and the bass is clearly given more supremacy. If you primarily listen to hip-hop music Tupac's 'Until the End of Time' Album. Or try listening to something like Fat Larry's 'Band - Act Like You Know', you'll love it. The Final Say You can pick up the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd for just Rs. 2,199, which, as mentioned earlier, makes it the company's one of the most affordable products. At that price, it's really hard to criticize it. Yes, the design could have been a little better, but it's important to understand that it's not always about the design. If you like bass-heavy earphones, then you find it an absolute pleasure to use these earphones. The audio quality is simply addictive. Overall, I'll say that Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd's bass-heavy sound is something that you'll absolutely fall in love with. Even without any discounts, these are simply awesome for the price. So, just go ahead and pick one up.
  13. The Indian cricket team comprises of numerous players who share more than just a good rapport with each other. And then, there are Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul whose bromance probably overshadows the camaraderie shared between other players in the team. From hanging out together on tours to exchanging their jerseys on the field, it's needless to say that the young duo is inseparable. However, the year 2019 started on a disastrous note for the Indian stars. The two cricketers were reprimanded for their demeanour on the popular TV show 'Koffee With Karan'. There was a lot of backlash on social media that in turn led to their respective suspensions at the hands of the Indian cricket board. © Instagram/@hardikpandya93 It was arguably the lowest of lows in their respective careers. But, the two cricketers didn't let it affect their mindset as they won the fans back with spirited performances, upon their return, on the field. While Rahul looks determined in his batting approach for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Pandya, too, appears more focussed while carrying out his responsibilities for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. Their fall from grace seems to have brought the much-needed maturity into their approach towards the game. And, with the chat show controversy behind them, both Rahul and Pandya are looking to make the most of the opportunities with positive intent - something that was highlighted in the latter's latest Instagram post. View this post on Instagram Brothers for life !!!!! No matter what !!! Love u bro @rahulkl happy birthday. Let's make it our year A post shared by Hardik Pandya (@hardikpandya93) on Apr 17, 2019 at 11:34am PDT On 18th April, Rahul turned 27. From his fans to teammates, everyone poured in heartfelt wishes for the Karnataka batsman. But, the one from Pandya clearly stood out. Taking to Instagram to wish his best mate, Pandya wrote: "Brothers for life !!!!! No matter what !!! Love u bro @rahulkl happy birthday. Let's make it our year". Both Rahul and Pandya have been included in Team India's 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). While Rahul will either provide a back-up option as an opener or might just get to play at the much-debated No. 4 slot, Pandya will add teeth to the Indian line-up with his all-around abilities.
  14. 1st April a.k.a April Fool's Day has always been the day on which all brands try to put their best foot forward and lie to us for the sake of, well, comedy. You definitely shouldn't be believing what you see or hear on April Fool's day, but it's also the day that brings out the best in the tech space. Well, 2019 was no exception, and we got to see a lot of interesting stuff from big name companies. But here are the best April Fool's Day pranks, which we wish actually real: 1. Notifications That Literally Follow! Duolingo's pesky notifications bugging you every day to take your language test can get super annoying, which is why we're sure you end up ignoring them. But this April fool's day, the company took a step further by introducing the idea of having a large green owl appear in real life and follow you around to remind you to practice your language lessons. Heck, they even come in three modes - encouraging, disappointed, or passive aggressive - and it's downright hilarious. Check it out - 2. A Smart Assistant For Gaming? Sure. Nvidia also took it a step further by announcing a GeForce RTX smart assistant called R.O.N. The company claims it can give you cool tips when you play games like Apex Legends, telling you to hide, etc. R.O.N. can also use its brains to leave comments on sites like Reddit and Twitch for you. But be careful, R.O.N. can become a serious troll. The best part, however, has got to be the device itself, which throws a really cool holograph. Check it out - 3. RGB CPU, Anyone? Newegg's new CPU for April Fool's day makes us wonder - “How much RGB is too much RGB?” Seriously, the company showcased an RGB CPU for people who just can't have enough RGB in their life. It costs a hefty $4,999.99, and it comes with a whopping 100 cores and 200 threads. Its base clock is a supposed 1.4 Petahertz and overclock, well, if you overclock it, Newegg says you “might create a small black hole inside your CPU.” It's not something that we want, because the CPU will anyway be tucked inside a cooler, but it's a hilarious idea. Check it out here - 4. Do You Like Cup Noodles? Yes, that's what HyperX and Nissin came up with. Needs no explanation we suppose? They even claim that you can detach the fork and slurp some noodles while gaming. Sounds just about right. © HyperX - Noodles 5. Like Sharing Your Music? If you don't like HyperX's idea, then how about something more practical? Like this Jabra Earbud(dy) headphones, with which you can share the music that you're listening to. It apparently comes with an ultra-light headband that can be extended “seamlessly to accommodate the perfect fit for every pair of buddies.” © Jabra 6. An App Find Your Lost LEGO Bricks? LEGO's “Find My Brick”, as the name suggests, is a parody of Apple's Find My iPhone app. It will help you find your bricks for you in a pile of miscellaneous blocks. Image how simple your life would be with such an app, and that's exactly why we think this should actually be real. The long search is finally over... ð± #FindMyBrick pic.twitter.com/3yBIPJ2OPk — LEGO (@LEGO_Group) April 1, 2019 Well, that wraps our list of April Fool's pranks. Of course, there were countless other pranks by the likes of OnePlus, Razer, Tinder, etc., but these are the ones which we truly wished existed in real life, especially the Nvidia R.O.N. and LEGO app.
  15. Alright, I know the Galaxy Note 7 jokes are a thing of past now, but I couldn't help it. Samsung's subsidiary brand has made a flower vase that also doubles up as a fire extinguisher? Seriously, how can this not remind you about the Note 7 debacle? Called 'Firevase', the vase essentially works as a fire extinguisher when you throw it at a fire. The outer chamber is filled with potassium carbonate that quickly cools and suppresses oxygen when the vase is thrown at the fire like, well, a grenade. Don't worry, it also has an inner chamber to hold water for your flowers, so it works fine both ways. According to architecture and design magazine Dezeen, only 100,000 firevases were originally produced to promote the use of home fire extinguishers in South Korea, where having at least one home fire extinguisher per home is mandatory since 2017. © firevase - YouTube But since the promotional campaign was a success and it helped increase the number of homes with an extinguisher by 8 per cent, the company decided to produce more.
  16. The worst nightmares have come to reality for Horacio Sala, the father of the 28-year-old footballer, Emiliano Sala after the Cardiff City striker's body was finally identified by the Dorset police. Shortly after the body was brought to the Portland Port, HM Coroner for Dorset declared to the public that it was recovered from amidst the plane's wreckage and was in fact that of Emiliano Sala, whose jet mysteriously vanished from the air traffic control's radar on 22nd January 2019. In what can only be considered as the final moments of Sala, the footballer got in touch with his father with a WhatsApp voicemail in which he sounded nervous and scared for his life. "If in an hour and a half you have no news from me, I don't know if they are going to send someone to look for me because they cannot find me. But you know… Dad, I am so scared," he had said. Horacio Sala had opened up to the press a couple of days after the voicemail came out when he said: “He (Emiliano) was so happy that he was going there (Cardiff), to an even bigger club… He was doing too well, he was playing so well, and then this news… There are no words to describe the feeling.” Sala was a talented young star was had just signed a major deal with an English Premier League team, Cardiff City FC and was supposed to join his new team for a practice session a day after his unfortunate disappearance took place. He was loved by fans from both his previous team, Nantes, a French Ligue 1 team and Cardiff, equally, who came out in huge numbers to show their condolences with candles, jerseys and big colourful banners. In one of the most heartbreaking moments ever since, Emiliano's sister Romina Sala shared a picture on Facebook of his dog, Nala calmly waiting by the door, for the footballer to come back home. Fans from all over the world came together to mourn over the untimely demise of the Argentinian: Emiliano Sala's last ever goal ð¼ðð¾ #RIPSala pic.twitter.com/XIL2wkprzy — SAMUEL (@SamOgun_) February 7, 2019 This very emotional video tribute to Emiliano Sala will hit you hard. 17. In the modern era of football, no footballer has managed to match the heroics of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. In a league of their own, the two phenoms have shattered records, claimed almost every honour there is to be won in the sport and continue to enjoy the spotlight for their unmatched skills. But, while the duo has enticed fans with their exploits, there is another man who, time and again, has proved he's not far behind. Brazil's prized possession, Neymar is probably the closest any footballer has come to Ronaldo and Messi. Third highest goal-scorer for his national team (only behind Pele and Ronaldo), the 27-year-old has won over fans with his dribbling, finishing, skill, pace and ability to play with both feet. © Reuters Currently plying his trade in France, Neymar has been a vital cog in Paris Saint-Germain's setup in Ligue 1. But, the recent times have neither been kind to the Brazilian, nor his fans. The PSG forward has been prone to injuries in the last couple of years, and his latest was the second to his fifth metatarsal in the right foot. With the initial threat of being ruled out for the rest of the season, Neymar has been recuperating well with a potential UEFA Champions League quarterfinal second leg a likely target for his return. While his injury has restricted his movements, Neymar remains determined to mark a return as soon as possible. And, his commitment was in full display at his 27th birthday party in Paris. Staying true to the party theme, Neymar was seen sporting a red blazer and even had red crutches to go with it. But, if his attire had people talking about his fashion sense, Neymar's tearful speech and birthday wish had football fans lauding his commitment to the game. "What I wanted the most as a birthday present today is a new metatarsal. So, I could be on the field fighting and doing what I love the most, which is playing soccer," Neymar said as emotions got the better of him. During his speech, Neymar revealed that he had thought about cancelling the celebration due to his injury, but after talking with friends he decided that it would be best to share a good time with his guests. "It's been very hard to be on crutches all this time. Every athlete knows how hard that is. They are giving me all the strength possible to help me return as soon as possible," said Neymar, who also thanked his PSG teammates for their support. While the PSG forward was slammed and laughed at for his antics at the Russia World Cup, his tearful speech would surely have people respecting his commitment to football.
  18. All celebrity couples, of late, are a huge inspiration for the millennial generation who're trying to make their relationships work. Be it their fancy love affairs, or extravagant weddings, their public display of affection or their anniversary special wishes, celebs know exactly how to show off their love for one another, without a single iota of doubt. (c)Twitter We love reading about celebrity couples old and new and while we stumble upon some really adorable things that stay with us, we also take back some tips and tricks that can be applied in our own way. So, it's not just movies where we see them flashing their love, it's also though their Instagram handles and Twitter accounts and we came across the sweetest wish recently from a couple we've always been rooting for, and they're a great example of love, in today's day and age. (c)Instagram Genelia D'souza and Riteish Deshmukh are celebrating their 7th wedding anniversary on the 3rd of February. To honour the most important day of her life, Genelia shared a throwback picture of both Riteish and her from their wedding day, 7 years ago, with a heartfelt note. The essence of her beautiful thought was just so simple, it made me a bit teary eyed, upon reading it. She narrated how she never had a sense of the kind of man she would marry, but the man she ended up with was her 'bestest friend' who always stood by her through thick and thin. Here, check out Genelia's wish for Riteish: Every girl has a certain perception of how they would want their life partner to be... I Honestly Didn't.. I had this most amazing partner who was my bestest friend, who was the shoulder, I always found when I needed to cry and who made me believe that no matter how tough life is, with us being partners we would take it on,in any form, in any way... That's the man I eventually married and he never ever stopped being the reason for my smile... So I'm glad I never ever had a perception because the reality of living and breathing this wonderful man is all I ever needed to know.. I Love you @riteishd ..Here's to many more laughs together, to the zillion times we will wipe each other's tears and pick each other up when either/or feels weak or simply to life together forever and ever... Happy Anniversary â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ A post shared by Genelia Deshmukh (@geneliad) on Feb 2, 2019 at 9:25pm PST While Genelia wished her husband with full love and adoration and a beautiful throwback picture, Riteish too gave his wife some social media love on their big day and thanked her for saying 'yes' to him seven years ago! We're really gushing over here! God gives each of us a chance to find true love, but it's up to us to identify it. God graces each of us with an opportunity to be in love but it's upto us to preserve it. God blesses each of us to be loved but it's upto us to make sure we deserve it. @geneliad You are god's grace & blessing in my life... Thank You for saying 'Yes' to me 7 years ago - Happy 7th Anniversary Baiko A post shared by Riteish Deshmukh (@riteishd) on Feb 3, 2019 at 1:47am PST Isn't this wish mighty endearing? I mean, the best love to count on there is the love that comes from someone you can absolutely trust and lean on and if he or she is your best friend then there is certainly nothing like it. That was exactly the case with the two love-birds who got married back in 2012 and now they have beautifully nestled in to each other's life and are a constant inspiration for the millennial couples who're still seeking 'relationship goals'. (c)Instagram So, if you're contemplating a mate for life and think there is someone you share your ups and downs with and someone who understands you, maybe give them a thought and see what that's like. For all you know you might find the love of your life in them, just like how Genelia found hers in Riteish.
  19. While we're happy for Ranbir Kapoor when he gave us 'Sanju', the biggest hit of 2018, there are some movies he perhaps inadvertently didn't give his all too, which plummeted at the box office. Why're we telling you this? Well, because when he was giving us back-to-back flops films like 'Besharam' (2014), 'Roy' (2015), 'Tamasha' (2015) and 'Jagga Jasoos' (2017), he was actually trolled by a cop and asked to stop doing so! © Fox Star Studios Well, not literally trolled but recently the actor attended the Umang Police Show 2019 and narrated an incident when a cop asked him to stop one night and upon recognising him, gave him a lecture about his career and how he shouldn't give any more flops and instead, suggested he does a film where he plays a policeman! © Eros International Ranbir went onto stage and narrated the incident to Shah Rukh Khan who was also on stage with him and other prominent guests who were amidst the audience. The cop first stopped his car and upon recognising him, he took a picture with Ranbir, only to sit and give him some detailed career advice on how his next film should be a one where he plays a cop. © Viral Bhayani I mean I wish it was so easy to stop most Bollywood actors and and give them some unsolicited advice on some things they probably shouldn't have done! But I guess the Mumbai policeman was lucky enough to encounter one of the biggest stars in Bollywood and sit him down over some serious talk. © Instagram Watch the video of Ranbir narrating this during the Umang Police Show 2019! Video: Ranbir Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan and Manish Paul on stage. #Umang2019 #umangpoliceshow2019 #RanbirKapoor #Ranbir #ShahRukhKhan #ManishPaul #Bollywood A post shared by Ranbir Kapoor Universe (@ranbirkapooruniverse) on Jan 27, 2019 at 10:00am PST But on an endearing note, I believe it was quite sweet of the cop to suggest something like that to Ranbir, since the policeman would actually want a fine actor to emulate the role of a policeman in a film. If directors do have any good scripts or ideas for a cop-based film, they should definitely get in touch with Ranbir, as he's told the cop he'd be open to doing it, but hasn't had a chance yet. Well, here's hoping Ranbir!
  20. Ever feel like wearing clothes that featured all the savage things you've been feeling like saying out loud? We all have, at some point. The feeling associated with wearing a piece of clothing that puts people in their place, without you having to say anything out loud, is beautiful, to say the least. It might put you in trouble in social situations (and definitely at work), but it's totally worth it (you know you agree). Designers Viktor and Rolf clearly feel the same, because they just showcased an incredible collection at the Paris Fashion Week, featuring the kind of messages you always wanted to yell across the meeting room at work. Here are 12 pictures from the collection that will definitely give you some sartorial inspiration. (Some DIY graffiti T-shirts, probably?) 1. 21. Instead of the Avengers assembling, this time we had a pure moment of Marvel fans assembling to make a dying man's wish come true. A 33-year-old Marvel fan from Australia named Alexander is suffering from liver cancer, mouth cancer, and the rare genetic disease Fanconi anaemia which affects the bone marrow, and he thinks he could die before the official release of the movie 'Avengers: Endgame'. Being a huge fan, he decided to try his luck and asked people to help him get an early screening of the movie with a post on Reddit. But, he also noted he's “not a child or anyone with a particularly tragic story”, just a normal guy. He thought he would make it to April, but his “bone marrow is toast”. It's good to see that even with so much happening, Alexander hasn't lost his sense of humour since the Reddit thread is called “Dying Before April: My Endgame”. Obviously, anyone would do anything to catch an early screening of one of the most awaited movies, but this is a special case and all the Marvel fans united to get Marvel and Disney to take notice. The internet came together and the hashtag #Avengers4Alexander spread on Twitter. With an update on the original post, he informed everyone that even apparently Chris Hemsworth, God of Thunder himself is aware of the situation because “Australia is a small place, turns out I know a guy who knows a guy who is chums with Chris Hemsworth”. With so many well wishes coming his way, he also wrote, “I don't know what the outcome will be but this has been amazing. If it doesn't pan out don't sweat it - I'll carry your kind words with me and that's worth far more.” He also took a cheeky shot and said, “Lastly, I don't mean to be greedy but since I'm triple dying can we throw Captain Marvel into the mix?” With this request, he also shared a picture of his dog as a bribe. And then, it finally happened, Disney reached out to him and the whole thing turned into one of the those rare, beautiful internet moments where everyone works together. Sharing the exciting news, his last update on the Reddit post is - “Disney have reached out and we are discussing options. I cried when I read their email. It's everything I hoped for and I owe it to all of you.” People on Twitter are also very excited about his wish come true and have nothing but appreciation for everyone who held make it happen. A man will get his dying wish fulfilled. Thanks to the beautiful internet. 10 years back this wouldn't have been possible. 22. On a fairly lighter side of things (pun intended), we have some great inspirational news from the other part of the world. East African country Rwanda, has officially banned skin lightening and bleaching products and we couldn't be happier about the country's decision. The government is now sending officials around the country to enforce the ban more openly. The country is leading a campaign against skin bleaching and similar substandard cosmetics, especially products that include hydroquinone, a skin-lightening agent, in it. After all, it took an African country to stand up against some very intangible and ridiculous beauty standards that have been placed in high regard, almost all over the world. © Twitter "It is been implemented by the Ministry of Health and the Rwanda Food and Drug Authority and the Rwanda Standards Board," Simeon Kwizera, the PR and communications officer for the board told a popular publication. He also mentioned that the operations are being handled by technical people and that the police are ensuring all safety standards, while the operations are ongoing. The initiative was sparked by President Paul Kagame on social media, when he started a discussion on the need to ban skin whitening products, way back in November 2018. Well, it's a terrific move by the Rwanda government as they've realised the crucial health hazards that a chemical like hydroquinone can pose, even today. Yes, it's been given a green signal all across the globe but it's still designed to unnaturally change skin pigmentation, so it can be determined at hazardous. © Twitter While Rwanda has taken a stand towards the unethical standards of beauty, India is still lagging far behind in this sphere. The most Googled content on the internet in India still spells 'best fairness cream in India'. There's also a lot of search on 'why is India obsessed with fair skin'. A very paradoxical situation for a diverse country like ours, where 'let's scrub off that tan' is a very common thought process for most girls who go to beauty parlours. Matrimonial columns and sites still want a 'beautiful fair girl' for all the 'handsome, tall and dusky' boys out there, and most of these expectations make people, boys and girls alike, obsess with fairer skin. © Twitter We still don't understand though where this obsession comes from, but it definitely creates an imbalance that is bred amidst apathy and entitlement in our country. I mean. you need fairer skin to feel more confident and whole and if you don't possess it, you need to apply dozens of fairness creams and bleaches, with a heap load of chemicals in it, to magically transform your pigment to a lighter one. And it's not done for fun or for the sake of looking beautiful! No! It's done under immense pressure, to stand out in society and maybe get an equal opportunity somewhere! © Twitter Advertisements showcasing the need to use these creams, wherein a girl who goes for an interview, or is performing on stage doesn't do well unless she starts using a fairness cream to become more confident and voila! she's the best dancer or the best candidate, henceforth! Not only that, there's a fairness cream for men doing popularly well and is marketed in South India, endorsed by the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham and Siddarth Malhotra, and young boys are drawn to it like a moth to the flame. Although some celebrities like Abhay Deol and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have condemned the use of fairness products, we have a larger chunk of celebrities still endorsing it for even a larger audience. Thank U 4 making me realise dat I cannot b paired along wid d fair & handsome bcz I m dark & not good looking, but I never focus on that. — Nawazuddin Siddiqui (@Nawazuddin_S) 17 July 2017 © Twitter The fact of the matter is the awakening for a secure sense of being has to come from within and not from TV commercials, other people's standards of beauty or even your own conditioning. Even if you're conditioned into believing dark-skinned people have to try harder in the society, there's a way to break that belief system and unravel positive thoughts towards 'just and equality' in your own psyche. © Twitter We really wish the Indian Government administers a similar ban as Rwanda has, but I guess we have way bigger issues to tackle right now and it may take time to do so. But here's hoping we slowly realise the redundancy for this obsession and take a stance on equal standards of lifestyle and beauty and build progress in a unidirectional fashion, together.

Sushmita shared the pictures from the wedding on Instagram, and the end result?
