  1. Captain Cool, Finisher, Mahi, Thala… Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a lot of things to a lot of people across India and the world, and today, on the 73rd Independence Day of our country, the cricketer announced his decision to retire from playing at the international level. Dhoni broke this news on Instagram when he shared a video with all his favourite moments as a Man in Blue with the timeless Hindi song Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hun playing in the background. View this post on Instagram A post shared by M S Dhoni (@mahi7781) on Aug 15, 2020 at 7:01am PDT “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired,” captioned the former skipper. Rumours of the wicket-keeper batsman calling it a career began last year after India’s disappointing exit from the 2019 ICC World Cup after losing to Kane Williamson’s New Zealand side in the semi-finals. Dhoni had taken a two-month sabbatical from the team to serve his paramilitary regiment. However, the leave of absence continued to prolong and even after a year, no signs of Dhoni returning to the roster were visible. On numerous occasions, fake news of the Ranchi-born arranging a press conference to announce his retirement trended on social media out of the blue, only to enrage his die-hard fans. After Seeing This 👉🏻 #DhoniRetires Dhoni Lovers Right Now 👊🏻 pic.twitter.com/vlpKt35weq — ⚔️ (@IamfardeenSRK_) October 29, 2019 Inversely, many followers and the officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) were also making a case for the middle-order batsman’s return to the team for the T20 World Cup which was supposed to take place in October this year. Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings physiotherapist had also acknowledged that the athlete was physically fit to return to the team and that he will try to get his spot in the upcoming 20-over tournament a couple of months ago. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chennai Super Kings (@chennaiipl) on Mar 26, 2020 at 4:51am PDT Having said that, when Dhoni told his fans and followers that this was the end of the road for him as an Indian cricketer, they were completely heartbroken. His now former teammates, opponents and critics, all came together to bid him farewell: 2007 🏆 2011 🏆 2013 🏆#NewCoverPic pic.twitter.com/EgYjr29099 — ICC (@ICC) August 15, 2020 Your contribution to Indian cricket has been immense, @msdhoni. Winning the 2011 World Cup together has been the best moment of my life. Wishing you and your family all the very best for your 2nd innings. pic.twitter.com/5lRYyPFXcp — Sachin Tendulkar (@sachin_rt) August 15, 2020 The 2011 World Cup win was @sachin_rt farewell but masterminded by MS Dhoni ... What an incredible international career ... You could argue the greatest ever white ball captain & finisher ... Cheers for all the memories MS 👍👍 — Michael Vaughan (@MichaelVaughan) August 15, 2020 Every cricketer has to end his journey one day, but still when someone you've gotten to know so closely announces that decision, you feel the emotion much more. What you've done for the country will always remain in everyone's heart...... pic.twitter.com/0CuwjwGiiS — Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) August 15, 2020 In this game, we have seen great captains that lead from the front & win on the big stage, seen tough Test batsmen, seen excellent keepers, seen great finishers, but one man doing all of this? Unlikely to see that again. There won’t be another Dhoni.#DhoniRetires — Sanjay Manjrekar (@sanjaymanjrekar) August 15, 2020 END OF AN ERA💔💔💔💔💔 CRICKET WON'T BE SAME WITHOUT YOU🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 MISS YOU MAHI😭😭❤️❤️❤️ #MSDhoni #captaincool #msdretires #Dhoni pic.twitter.com/r7ieJ49Gr0 — Lalitha (@ofclalitha) August 15, 2020 Following Dhoni's announcement, Suresh Raina, one of the most talented Indian batsmen of the modern era and a great batting partner to Dhoni in countless matches, also decided to call it quits, having played his last match in an Indian jersey in July 2018. He too announced his retirement on Instagram: View this post on Instagram It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . With my heart full of pride, I choose to join you in this journey. Thank you India. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳 A post shared by Suresh Raina (@sureshraina3) on Aug 15, 2020 at 7:36am PDT “It was nothing but lovely playing with you, @mahi7781 . 2. If you’re at all into Indian comic books, and Indian mythology, you would know that we have some pretty cool superheroes. We all have heard this running tautology - the superhero greater than Superman, Iron Man & Batman, is in fact Hanuman. And we agree. © Amar Chitra Katha Believe it or not, in the war Between DC comics and Marvel Comics, Marvel won a long time ago, simply because of the fact that they have a far better experience in making films. Whether it is the storytelling, the CGI, the breathtaking graphics - the entire package is nothing short of a pleasant dream. © Marvel Studios We think that a lot of our Indian superheroes and their stories would sit perfectly in the MCU. Heck, if there are movies made on them, and we surely believe that such movies should indeed be made, they would be mega-blockbusters. © Ultra India Here are 6 Indian comic book and mythological characters which deserve a spot in the Marvel Universe, and on whom films should be made. Nagraj © Raj Comics Nagraj follows all the tropes of a typical Marvel superhero - a tragic backstory, some amazing powers, and the undying need to save the world from all evil. As the name suggests, Nagraj means the king of snakes. Of course, he has a number of powers that are found in a snake, along with some other really dope superpowers. We would definitely watch a movie on him, if Marvel ever makes one. Super Commando Dhruv © Raj Comics Super Commando Dhruv, at times, looks like a hybrid between Batman, Robin, and Ra’s Al Ghul, but only better than all of those three. Yes, there are some similarities between the DC characters and Super Commando Dhruv, but they are few and far between. Apart from all the abilities that Batman, Robin & Ra’s Al Ghul have, Dhruv can also speak to animals and breathe underwater. Oh, just how badly we want MCU to induct this character into it’s universe. Parmanu © Raj Comics Also known as Wonderman Parmanu, the comic follows a character called Vinay, who gets seriously injured while avenging the death of a dear friend, and gets a suit which gives him “atomic” powers. Parmanu can manipulate his size, and that of others, teleport, shoot atomic rays, and has other superhuman abilities in strength, intelligence and agility. The comic books were really a fun read. It would be interesting to see a film based on him. Tiranga © Raj Comics If you’ve ever wondered what would have happened if Steve Rogers was an Indian guy, and what if we had a desi Captain America, then Tiranga is the guy for you. Do keep in mind that he isn’t a blatant rip off of Captain America; Tiranga has his own character arch, backstory and personality, and is actually far better. He has his own version of the vibranium shield, and staff, that would put Thor’s Mjolnir to shame. Shaktiman © Ultra India Of course, this was going to be on the list. Shaktiman is completely unique to us. Plus, it would actually be really interesting to see how MCU deals with Gangadhar. We already now thanks to Deadpool, that MCU handles humour very well. It would be really interesting to see Gangadhar in a Marvel Studios film. Hanuman © Amar Chitra Katha The OG of Indian superheroes, there are a number of animated cartoon films and TV shows around Lord Hanuman. We have had several films on Lord Hanuman as well. Does that not make you feel that Lord Hanuman would make a great character in the MCU? For sure, we would love to watch a film on Hanuman that has been made with the cinematic expertise of Marvel Studios. Something that really baffles us, is why did the CBFC remove the reference to Hanuman in Black Panther? I mean, isn’t it great that an iconic film such as that one actually referred to the Indian pantheon? Isn’t that something to be proud of? Marvel Studios, if you’re reading this, please make these happen. View the full article
  3. Windows Phones are no longer available to buy now, but there was a time when these phones were huge. People went crazy for these phones because of the whole idea of being able to enjoy Microsoft's Windows OS on a phone. Sadly, we can't get our hands on a new one right now, but we still have a special place for those phones. There were a lot of things we loved about the Windows and here's a quick look at some of them: 1. Live Tiles © Microsoft A lot of people hated Live Tiles, but that's also one of the reasons why others wanted to own Windows phone. The beauty of Star Screen is that the Live Tiles can be resized and moved around to suit your own needs. You could change the aesthetics and make it look however you want. 2. PerformanceIf you've ever used a Windows Phone, then you'll know exactly what this means. The software was so well-optimized that these phones used to be snappy. We're talking smooth animations with solid frame rates even on the lower end models. You'd hardly notice any stutters or lags while using them. Impressive performance indeed and it was a joy to use them. 3. Action Center © Reuters Windows had something called the 'Action Center' where all your recent notifications would sit. It also had a row of customizable settings shortcuts at the top to provide quick access to useful features like switching to Wi-Fi, adjusting screen brightness and more. It's similar to how we have the drop-down notification centre on Android phones now, but it was a breath of fresh air back in the day. 4. CortanaBelieve it or not, Cortana was actually a lot of fun to use back then. Of course, we're also talking about a time when the Google Assistant was exactly as powerful as it is today, but still. Cortana was able to monitor particular topics for you and suggest content that's worth checking out. All this was way ahead of the time for Windows Phone users. We probably won't be able to use a Windows Phone as a daily driver today without proper updates. That being said, we miss these phones a lot. Picking one of them up and using it even for a while now makes us want to go back and use a Windows Phone. View the full article
  4. We all adore superheroes and in such difficult times, we wish if a superhero could rescue mankind from the deadly virus. Just like a three-hour superhero movie in which there are drama and problems and a superhero saves the day by providing a solution, many of us wish that this was our real-life scenario. Now, we all like Hollywood superheroes like Spiderman, Iron Man, Spiderman, and many more. However, Indian superheroes also profess powers and abilities that can save the world. So, here is a list of Indian superheroes who could rescue us from the novel Coronavirus if they existed in real life (and if it was possible at all!): 1. Shaktimaan Shaktimaan attained his superhero powers through deep meditation and he was able to use his powers by activating certain chakras. Exactly, imagine him dealing with the novel Coronavirus! 2. Nagraj Nagrajâs superpowers were shape-shifting and releasing various types of snakes. Also, his blood is more poisonous than any kind of snake. He can fight spirits and what not! He could have definitely saved us from the pandemic, somehow! 3. Krrish Krrish has super human strength and super fast reflex actions and it can totally catch the Coronavirus if given a chance. The story of Krrish revolves around an alien called âJadooâ who gives Krrishâs father extraordinary abilities that get transferred to him. 4. Ra.One The superhero is a robot who makes his way from a game to reality. The antagonist in the story is Ra-One and G-One is the one who has super strength and can also blast energy from his hands along with shooting bullets at once and fights the super villain. 5. Captain Vyom Captain Vyom is a super soldier and is sent by the World Government and Vishwapramukh to capture the fugitives. He attained his superpowers by training in Yoga in a monastery in Ladakh. 5. Some Bollywood films are precious and unfortunately, such films do not release every weekend. But whenever such movies release, we want to watch them again and again and not miss any bit of it. At times, a few of the best scenes get deleted in the process of creating the perfect narrative in the films. And if a film holds a special place in your heart, then youâd want to know all about it. So, here are 5 deleted scenes from popular Bollywood films we wished were a part of the original version. Dear Zindagi The film ends with Alia Bhatt finishing her journey by making a film about Donna Maria and dedicates it to her therapist AKA Shah Rukh Khan. In this deleted scene, you get a backdrop for the film Alia Bhatt makes about Donna Maria and why that particular story created an impact on her. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham SRK gets to know that Hrithik Roshan is his brother much later in the film but Rohan tries to find out whether or not Rahul still missed his parents. The emotional scene with perfect performances would have smoothly fit in, according to us, in the film. Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani In the film, Naina and Aditi were suddenly best friends after the interval and as much as we liked the film, most of us didnât understand the jump. And it was only because one of their major bonding scenes was deleted from the movie. Dum Laga Ke Haisha The film was perfect as we watched it but there was another quirky scene that didnât make it to the final cut of the film. Also, little scenes can make a film even more perfect and thatâs exactly what that scene must have done. Kal Ho Na Ho SRK, in the film, knows that he is going to live for a very short period of time and, hence, decides to get Naina and Rohit together. In this deleted scene, Aman plans that he will induce ideas into Nainaâs head for Rohit and persuade her to give Rohit a chance. View the full article
  6. If you know anything about esports, then you're probably familiar with the fact that some of the eSports players walk out of a tournament with an outrageous amount of money. Obviously, the overall prize pool of a particular tournament shouldn't be used to gauge the popularity of that title but it still gives us a very good idea of which game has been doing good. You may have heard that Call Of Duty Mobile just announced a huge competition with a prize pool of $1 million. That's a lot of money for a mobile game and it goes to show how esports is evolving. Today, we take a look at some of the eSports tournament with the highest prize pool - 1. The International 9 2019 - $34.3 million © Valve Valve went all-in on The International 9 Dota 2 tournament when it broke the $30 million prize pool mark in 2019. It's officially the largest prize pool at a single eSports event ever, and as you can see, it's absolutely insane. The players across the globe competed in the tournament with the final prize pool of $34,330,068. In addition to the International 9 tournament, Dota 2 also sees a lot of other regional-wise tourneys. The Dota 2 Asia Championship and the Dota 2 Valve Majors, for instance, both get a $3 million prize pool each. It's crazy how popular this game is. 2. The 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals - $30.4 million © Epic Games Remember when a 16-year-old kid walked away with $3 million prize money? Well, that's was a part of the 2019 Fortnite World Cup Finals. Epic Games nailed it last year with one of the biggest prize pools in eSports history. The inaugural tournament was split into two main events i.e. Solo finals which was won by Kyle âBughaâ Giersdorf, and the Duos finals which was won by David âaquaâ W and Emil âNyhroxâ Bergquist Pedersen. Just like Dota 2, Fortnite also sees a ton of other tournaments throughout the year. We have things like Fortnite Fall Skirmish Series with a prize pool of $4 million, among many others. 3. The 2018 League of Legends World Championship â $6.4 millionRiot Games' League Of Legends is probably the most popular esports title on the planet that sees a major tournament every year. In 2018, the game saw its biggest prize pool of $6.4 million, and the winning team i.e. Invictus Gaming from China walked away with $2.4 million. 4. The 2016 Halo World Championship - $2.5 millionThis was a huge event because it was fully sponsored by Microsoft Studio. The 2016 Halo World Championship landed a total of $2.5 million. Team CLG ended up winning the event and walked home with $1 million. Not the highest, but still not bad at all, right? 5. Call Of Duty Mobile World Championship Tournament - > $1 millionMoving over to mobile gaming, Activision's Call Of Duty Mobile is getting a new tournament with a prize pool of over $1 million. As mentioned earlier, this a lot for a mobile game and we've never seen anything like this before. The event kicks off April 30 and it's being sponsored by Sony. Here are all the details. 6. PMCO Global 2019 - $500,000 © YouTube/ MortaL One of the very first PUBG Mobile esports events to go global was the PMCO Global 2019. With a prize pool of $500,000, over 15 teams participated in this tournament out of which one of them was India Team Soul. They managed to finish in a decent position, however, it was won by Bigetron RA. View the full article

  8. The coronavirus lockdown across the globe has brought a looming doom on humans at the moment. As we continue to stay in quarantine, the world is divided in several categories of lifestyle. On one hand we have the privileged lot which is trying hard to make it look like one long vacation, and on the other hand are people who cannot afford a single meal. Talking about first world problems in this pandemic, Indians are dying for âthekasâ to open so they can fill up their booze stock at home and continue having a quarantined life in peace. However, as per new guidelines, sale of liquor and cigarettes is banned, and maybe rightly so. The governor of Nairobi in Kenya has been the target of some flak after the COVID-19 care packages that are being given by the government include alcohol as well. âWe will have some small bottles of Hennessy in the food packs that we will be giving to our peopleâ¦â - Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko Note: WHO warns that drinking alcohol does not protect you against COVID-19 and can be dangerous pic.twitter.com/vuSuVAb8dy â Citizen TV Kenya (@citizentvkenya) April 14, 2020 When the governor was questioned, he agreed to the claim and actually had an explanation for the same. He explained that alcohol is in fact a âthroat sanitiserâ although according to WHO, alcohol doesnât protect you from COVID-19 nor is consumption recommended. The video went viral on social media and people had many opinions around this move. Creative politician award to Mike Sonko governor of #Nairobi, #Kenya He distributed #COVID19 care packages included food, other needs & cognac, #Hennessy. Sonko suggested the #WHO suggested alcohol helps kill #Coronavirus, the Hennessy would serve as a âThroat Sanitizer.â ... â Delrish Moss (@Delrish_M) April 18, 2020 People actually want to vote for him and wish every government was this cool. Everyone is hating on the governor of #Kenya for giving out bottles of Henny in Rona relief packages but come on, I want my government to be this cool...@MikeSonko hook it up!!!! â Bill Tracy (@BillTracyIV) April 17, 2020Not sure about his choice of outfit here, but he had me at HENNESSY! pic.twitter.com/XRKvdyU6zz â Shawnasaurus Rex (@ShawnG927) April 18, 2020 Jokes apart, some people didnât find it cool and called him out for this health hazard. There is alot of ignorance as regards preventing COVID19 in Africa, just heard a governor in Nairobi Kenya shared cognac to his people claiming it kills coronavirus, some Men for Naija go like that kind Governor ooooo â Owen Gee (@OfficialOwenGee) April 17, 2020His hand sanitizers are pretty cool actually with all that customisation included. 9. Welcome to Twitter, where everyone thinks they're an expert at literally everything and will give you second-hand embarrassment while trying to prove their pointless points. A beautiful Twitter exchange like that happened yesterday when a few âdesiâ people tried to argue about how Wikipedia works, with, wait for it, the founder of Wikipedia. It all started with some questioning why a Wikipedia page was deleted and I mean asking questions are fine but the entire bribing narrative? Oof. Just googled and found this,@Wikipedia how much were you paid for this? How much will our media and woke intellectuals hide their wrong doings? pic.twitter.com/jnMUIYkram â Nicki minach (@nickiminachhh) April 16, 2020 Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, decided to resolve the matter but that would be in vain. Hi Nicki, Wikipedia doesn't work that way. We don't accept payment to include things, nor to delete them. The relevant discussion is here:https://t.co/xwMuxEccjq â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 The argument continued with Jimmy again telling how it works on HIS site. Wikipedia doesn't work like that. We engage in serious rational discussion. It's very different from the madhouse of twitter. â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 He's not even talking about religion, he's talking about how Wikipedia works and well, I would think that he's somewhat of an expert on it. I don't recommend that you do that - it is important to join the discussion. In actual fact, the article was incredibly poorly written and has zero sources. https://t.co/W19OXEBwFY This isn't about religious sentiments, it's about not putting junk into Wikipedia. â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 The man is just trying to tell them the quality of whatever is written on different pages matters and they're still not listening. Did you look at the article? Please do so and then try to tell me with a straight face that it was quality. Wikipedia is not about "lefts propaganda" - that's just a slur by people who haven't bothered to actually look into it. â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 He's still trying to politely diffuse the situation and is even open to a discussion. Reliable sources are required by people; it's not that hard of a concept to grasp. Reliable sources for a start. You have zero references, much less references to quality sources. The fact that this probably belongs as a part of another article (I can't say for sure) would also be a valid question to discuss. â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 Just to fill the gaps since the tweet Jimmy is replying to below has been deleted but the person basically said that almost every article on Wikipedia doesn't have sources. Yep, people are that thick. Almost every article on Wikipedia has sources. Are you on drugs? â Jimmy Wales (@jimmy_wales) April 16, 2020 One would think it can't get worse than this, but just wait for it. Someone thought this was actually a valid argument to put forward. © Twitter I can feel his frustration through the screen. Poor guy is getting brain damage because of a stupid ass chick who canât even cite her sources https://t.co/jaHlyyThrq â Gaytri (@kantatabatata) April 16, 2020 Same. I'm never leaving this app. Never. Where else do you get to see the Wikipedia founder take down stupid trolls in his free time. ï¸ https://t.co/p2ApXzvQQv â A (@_khwabida) April 16, 2020 The quality content we need. Jimmy Wales giving it back to trolls is genuinely the highest point of quarantine this week. https://t.co/Xdj5OU7XEw â Floyd (@floydian_sleep) April 16, 2020 I would personally like to say thank you to everyone involved, this was way too hilarious. 10. Aamir Khan, Bollywoodâs very own Mr Perfectionist, is believed to be a true magician when it comes to turning all that he touches into gold. Well, barring Thugs of Hindostan. But this 55-year-old Bollywood veteran has so many good titles to his name, that something like a Thugs of Hindostan doesnât quite succeed to shake our faith in his calibre as an actor. But did you know that there are a handful of superhit blockbuster films that Aamir rejected over the span of his 32-year-old career? We agree you may have thought about it, but wait till you find out about some of the priceless ones our Mr Perfectionist missed out on: 1. Saajan © Eros International Before Sanjay Dutt took on the role of Sagar in this superhit movie, Aamir Khan was approached to star opposite Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit. However, Aamir declined the offer because he didnât like the character. 2. Darr © Yash Raj Films This was perhaps one of the earliest times when the âobsessive loverâ was brought alive on the silver screen in Bollywood. Itâs almost impossible to forget the psychotic Rahul Mehra and his âK..K..K...Kiranâ. But reportedly, Yash Chopra had first offered this iconic role to Aamir, who declined it because he wasnât sure about playing a villain so early on in his career. 3. Hum Aapke Hain Koun © Rajshri Productions A Rajshri Productions classic, this one really added a substantial fan following to Salmanâs Bollywood journey. But Premâs role was first offered to Aamir, who ended up rejecting the role because he didnât find the script meaty enough. 4. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge © Yash Raj Films Weâre so sure this must have hurt Aamir a whole lot. This Aditya Chopra directorial debut was first offered to Aamir who declined it. Later Salman also rejected the film, which was finally taken up by Shah Rukh Khan and boy, did it change SRKâs career graph or what! 5. Mohabbatein © Yash Raj Films This is yet another Aditya Chopra directorial that Aamir declined, and we think he shouldnât have. It was after Aamirâs rejection that SRK was roped in to play the âlove guruâ Raj Aryan Malhotra. 6. Swades © UTV Motion Pictures Having worked with Aamir in mega-blockbuster Lagaan, director Ashutosh Gowariker wanted to cast Aamir in Swades too. But Aamir wasnât convinced about the story and therefore rejected it. And as we know today, Aamirâs loss was SRKâs gain. 7. Bajrangi Bhaijaan © Salman Khan Films Reportedly, the makers of this 2015 blockbuster had first offered the lead role to Aamir who suggested a few changes in the script which were rejected by the director. So, Aamir then suggested that Salman be approached for the role instead. View the full article
  11. With great power comes great responsibility, sure. But with great money comes a whole lot of questions, and perhaps the most important one is âwhat should I be splurging on?â Thereâs a whole universe of choices out there if youâre an A-lister in Indian business, sports or entertainment - fast cars, luxury rides, finely crafted accessories and heck, why not throw in a private yacht or jet for the heck of it? Here are some of the most desirable purchases recently made by Indiaâs elite, and why we want to get our hands on them. Krunal Pandyaâs Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow Yellow Gold Oyster - Rs 89.90 Lakh © Instagram Like his younger brother Hardik, all-rounder Krunal Pandya has a fondness for bling of all kinds - fast cars, slick fashion and some seriously exclusive taste in timepieces. Heâs often been spotted wearing a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Rainbow Yellow Gold Oyster - a timepiece worn by international celebrity royalty ranging from comedian Kevin Hart to musicians John Mayer and Post Malone. Every time you flick your wrist to check the time, you also get a glimpse of Rolexâs proprietary platinum-gold alloy - studded with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds. Time is money, friends. Vikram Oberoiâs Ducati 1299 Superleggera - Rs. 1.2 Crore © Zigwheels Easily the most expensive bike purchase ever made in the country, this Italian crotch rocket was snagged by the Oberoi Group head honcho a few years ago in 2017. Lean, mean and weighing just about as much as a Bajaj Pulsar (while being over 10 times as powerful), this is just what youâre looking for if you want to go fast. Real fast. Gautam Singhaniaâs Ferrari 458 Challenge - Rs. 5 Crore © Overdrive It takes one kind of man to buy an expensive, exotic sports car - it takes entirely another to work hard at training under ex-F1 racers and become the first Indian to win a race at the coveted Ferrari Challenge Championships. The 458 is already one of the sexiest, fastest cars you can find on the road. And after slapping on some tuning upgrades and putting Raymond CEO Gautam Singhania behind the wheel, this car went on to decimate records at Buddh International Circuit. 12. The most complete batsman of his time. The most prolific run-scorer of all time. The biggest cricket icon the gentleman's game has ever known. A living God amongst ordinary men with the unique ability to evoke passion amongst cricket fans. Sachin Tendulkar needs no introduction when it comes to cricket. Boasting a full range of rage of orthodox shots, Tendulkar's batting was based on the purest principles - perfect balance, economy of movement, precision in stroke-making and, above all, anticipation (an intangible quality, possessed by few greats, which continues to elude some of the best in the business even now). 13. The much awaited film Tanhaji hit the screens on January 10. Directed and co-written by Om Raut, Tanhaji is an adaptation of the lore of the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670 between the Maratha King Shivaji and the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Besides doing extremely well at the box office, if there's one thing that people can't stop talking about, it's the multiple beard styles seen on-screen in the film. And here's the best part, you can actually get them from your local salon if you just take a picture reference. (Chances are, your barber has seen the film too which means you can get the exact look.) 1. Pornstache © Ajay Devgn FFilms Ajay Devgn's character as Tanhaji can be seen in a pornstache or otherwise known as a weighted moustache. Although the pornstar moustache has different variations, the most popular one can be defined as a thick, heavy moustache with slightly elongated ends and no accompanying facial hair. A similar version can also be seen on Ajay Devgn. 2. Short Boxed Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Uday Bhan played by Saif Ali Khan can be seen sporting short boxed beard. Now, here's the thing. A short boxed beard can be defined as a short moustache with a medium length beard as can be seen on Saif. The beard is fuller and covers relatively more surface on the face as can be seen. 3. Handlebar Moustache with Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Sharad Kelkar's character in Tanhaji can be seen in a visibly defined handlebar 'stache. But the look has been given a twist with an additional beard. If you think that a handlebar on its own is over the top, adding a beard to the picture can be a gamechanger. 4. The Weighted Beard © Ajay Devgn FFilms Aurangzeb played by Luke Kenny sported a weighted beard which is characterised with a relatively fuller beard with a fine moustache. This beard is the polar opposite of a weighted moustache where the emphasis is on the 'stache. View the full article
  14. Photo: fileSeveral members of the national cricket team offered their best wishes to the U19 side ahead of their departure for South Africa, where the U19 Cricket World Cup will be staged from January 7. The senior players, according to a press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board, hoped that the U-19 side would carry last year’s winning momentum into the World Cup, and advised the players to make the most of the platform as it would lead to their eventual recruitment into the national team. “I wish all the best to the U19 team. My message for them is to do well, like they have been doing recently. Help each other and believe in your teammates’ abilities,” said T20I captain Babar Azam, who was part of the U19 World Cup in 2010 and 2012. “Our batsmen and bowlers are in good shape and after having played in South Africa, I would suggest the batsmen to stay upright while batting. Enjoy this opportunity and put your heart in it as that would enhance your performances.” Test captain Azhar Ali, who was a part of the U19 team in 2002 World Cup, told the current crop to focus on unity and aggressive play. “I wish all the best to this team and advise them to stick together as a unit and play fearless cricket," he said. “Playing the U19 World Cup gives you a flavour of international cricket as the matches are televised and the players get to experience the pressure of international cricket. "It is a great opportunity for these cricketers to learn, which will certainly help them when they graduate to the senior team." Azhar praised U-19 captain Rohail Nazir and Haider Ali, saying that "they have done well at the U19 level and impressed at the first-class level too. When a player performs at the first-class level, it lifts his morale up. If these two are able to stretch their form into the World Cup, the team will benefit immensely. Recent graduate of the side, Naseem Shah, also expressed his confidence in the former team. “I was recently playing with this side and I am hopeful that they are going to do well in the tournament. They have gelled very well and possess good combinations, which will help them excel in the World Cup." “I wish good luck to Rohail Nazir and his team,” he added. Shaheen Shah Afridi, who played in the previous edition of the U19 Cricket World Cup, reminded the youngsters of the importance the junior platform. “The way this team played in South Africa and won, I am hopeful that the U-19 team will win the World Cup. “U-19 cricket grooms a cricketer. It happened with me as after the last World Cup, in which I was the highest wicket-taker [for Pakistan], I was picked up for the PSL and subsequently called-up for the senior side. “This is a very good side and I wish them all the best. I have played with Rohail Nazir and Aarish Ali and I know they are very good players.” “Pakistan have a very good record at the U19 level and I am sure this team will do very well in the tournament," said Fakhar Zaman, who played U-19 domestic cricket. “U-19 level is very important for a player and such international tours help a great deal in the development of the players as they provide crucial opportunities to rub shoulders with the best cricketers. “I have played domestic cricket with these players and they all are very talented and have proved themselves.” Mohammad Hasnain, another former Pakistan U-19 player, said: “I wish all the best to the team and hope that they will do well. U-19 cricket is a very important phase in the development as it teaches you the basics which help in graduating to the next level. “My message to the team is to work hard and eye a spot in the national side.” The Rohail-led side begin their ICC U19 World Cup 2020 campaign on 19 January against Scotland. They will play Zimbabwe U19 and Bangladesh U19 on 22 and 24 January respectively in the group-stage.
  15. The series between Monterrey and Club America was in a deadlock as the second leg of the Liga MX Championship final ended 2-1 in America's advantage. As the penalty shootouts began, a quiet Antonio Mohamed could be seen holding onto his rosary beads tightly with his head bowed in prayer. But when Leonel Vangioni, who plays left back for Mohamed's team, put the ball in the nets, the manager instantly broke down in tears. While he had won his club their fifth title, there were emotions more valuable than just the joy of winning a tournament at play here. It was the feeling of contentment. © Twitter In 2006, Antonio lost his nine-year-old son Farid in Germany when an overtaking car collided with theirs. Antonio was also on the verge of losing his leg. Farid's loss hit the Argentine hard. His wife and he decided to have no more kids and his marriage eventually broke. The only fragment of his son's memories that kept him going was a couple of promises that he had made to his boy more than 13 years ago. First, he promised to go back to Huracan and help them retain their top-division spot and second, he swore to win a title with Monterrey, Farid's favourite team in the world. © Twitter The second of the two promises was fulfilled on Monday. The past few years have been testing for "El Turco". A failed attempt to make it big in Spain and an unexpectedly disappointing time with Huracan back at home nearly broke him. Call it divine intervention or just good luck, but the timing of Mohamed getting back with Monterrey was perfect. The team's supportive response to the kind of changes the newly reacquired manager brought to the dressing room and even though it took the Rayados a couple of years to look like the team they were capable of, they finally broke free and won the title. Antonio had spent the morning of the championship finals day at the Basilica of Our Lady of Gaudalupe, north of Mexico City. He was praying for his son, his team and himself. Clearly his prayers were answered as the euphoric manager cheered on with both his hands up and a gold medal hanging around his neck. View the full article

  18. Life is a miracle, but life is also full of some of the most unexpected surprises. Most spiritual gurus will tell you that a full life is much like a rollercoaster ride sprinkled with highs and lows that make it worth living. You may or may not choose to agree with this, but the fact of the matter is that there are people around us, in all their fleshy and bloody glory, who will vouch for it. Cricketer and cyclist Mayur Dumasia is a living proof that life can choose to mess up our life at a moment's notice, but eventually it all boils down to whether we give up or fight back in the face of the challenges life throws our way. © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia One read through Mayur's journey through life so far, and we promise you will be more than inspired by this man who rose from the ashes to write his name in gold. The Backstory Mayur was a mere teenager at 14-years-old when a train accident changed his life forever. It was back in 2001 when Mayur fell off an overcrowded train and onto the tracks. As many as 3 train coaches ran over his arm and pushed him into a coma that lasted close to a month. When he woke up, a part of his body was missing - he no longer had a right hand. The Aftermath © Mayur Dumasia Post the life-changing incident, it wasn't the physical healing, but the mental and spiritual trauma that kept dragging Mayur down. Even though his family supported him, people looked at him differently. His dream of joining the armed forces was shattered and the constant pity messed with his head. Talking to MensXP, Mayur recalled what he went through, “I am very emotional. I have cried a lot in secret. I would hide in the bathroom and cry my heart out during my lowest moments.” Broken Dreams © Mayur Dumasia It's really true when they say that open wounds heal, but it is that which cannot be seen that is truly dangerous. The trauma and depression due to the incident and people's changed behaviour towards him began to take a toll on him. He started staying in and avoided people. That only added to his distress and he attempted to take his own life, not once but twice. The Silver Lining © Mayur Dumasia But the very fact the Mayur is still around and kicking only proves that life had different plans for him. With the help of his family and his teacher Mr Ramesh, Mayur managed to overcome every hurdle and bounced back stronger than ever. Taking about healing and the importance of mental strength, Mayur said, “Mental strength is a form of inner engineering which can only come from within. Your boosting power will never come from any other person, whether it's your family or friends. It has to come from within you.” The Big Leap © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia However, it was Mayur's chance visit to Shivaji Park as a college student that things took a new turn. “I was in college and I was visiting the Shivaji Park. People were practising there and I noticed physically challenged people playing. That's when I thought if they can do it, why can't I. In 2006-07 I started playing. I thought kuch hone toh nahi wala, but still kept practising and moving forward. Eventually I got into Mumbai Cricket Association for Physically Challenged and played the division matches. Won numerous challenges and finally got into the Indian cricket team for the physically challenged. That's the biggest highlight of my life. Even though I couldn't join the armed forces, I was happy to be able to make India proud in another way.” © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia Today, Mayur has not only ticked off biggest dream, but achieved a lot more than he had set out to fulfil. His team won multiple trophies for India in the Asia Cup and he went on to become the first Indian amputee to cycle 1670 kms from India Gate to Gateway of India in 15 days with a busted knee! Mayur has run in over 30 marathons and not just that, he even became the winner of the Bharat Prerna Award in 2018. Next Adventure © Instagram/Mayur Dumasia Currently working as an Accounts teacher at Abhinav Degree College, Mayur plans to attempt Guinness World Record to become the first amputee cyclist to journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by October 2020. His mantra is simple, “if you keep holding on to a rose, its thorns are only going to hurt you. Never hold on to your problems. Learn to let go. Every situation has two sides to it, with failures comes success. Keep at it.” What an inspiring journey this man has had, isn't it? View the full article
  19. Kartik Aaryan is no stranger when it comes to some really alluring footwear. From some of the zaniest and insane desert boots to an equally zany pair of sneakers that seemed to be held together with pins and straps, he has pulled it all off. This time again, while promoting his upcoming film, Pati Patni Aur Woh, which releases on the December 6, he was spotted in a rather cool, deconstructed, or rather, destroyed pair of boots. But first, letâs get to his outfit. Kartik is wearing a rather hipster-looking hooded sweatshirt from Hummel. The sweatshirtâs colour palette, as understated as it is, goes really well with the all-white and distressed pair of denim that he is wearing. The outfit gives him a really cool and laid back aesthetic, almost as if he is trying to emulate the appearance of a rapper. A really cool and dapper way to dress up for the street, if you ask us. Finally, coming to his shoes, Kartik is seen wearing one of the best pairs of high-top lace-up boots that we have seen this year. Perhaps, the fact that these boots have a velvet finish, is what makes them so appealing. The particular pair that Kartik is seen wearing is the 6 Inch Textile Boots from Timberland and comes courtesy of their collaboration with Off White Virgil Abloh. These Off White X Timberland Textile Boots retail for about $450 or roughly Rs 33,000 on GOAT. Primarily made of nubuck leather, the boots have a very technical and functional clothing vibe, which sits really well with most streetwear outfits, irrespective of the theme. It seems Kartik and his stylists have played around with aesthetic elements such as extra laces and the leather tags of the boot. Considering that it is these very embellishments that give any Off White and Virgil Abloh piece its value and significance, we have to say that removing them was a rather ballsy move. Well, to each his own. All weâll say is that the boots look super zany and awesome. Great going, Kartik! View the full article

The first of two Test matches are over and the might of the Indian cricket team in Test cricket was on display as they defeated Mominul Haque's Bangladesh team by an innings and 130 runs in Indore. #TeamIndia go one up in the series, and that's another big heap of points on the board in the World Test Championship. However, he made sure that it wasn't a dull day for his fans who love and follow him blindly wherever he goes. Ever since this video popped up on social media, the followers of Indian cricket and those of the Indian skipper from all over the world have not been able to stop praising Kohli's heartwarming gesture. Watching her favourite player emerge out of the crowd brought a smile to the 24-year-old Pooja who waved to the Indian Captain in pure joy. Kohli bowed in front of her, signed her hat and stayed there long enough for Pooja's family member to grab some quality shots. This isn't the first time Kohli took out some time to meet and greet some of his most diehard fans. Last month, clearly a diehard 'Viratian' Pintu Behra, who has engraved 15 tattoos on himself as a homage to the cricketer was given special access to Team India's dressing room where he got a warm hug from the cricketer to go with a timeless picture. 21. PUBG Mobile Club Open Fall Split 2019 saw the South Asian regional finals come to an end on Sunday, with two Indian teams battling for the regional championship title, after securing spots for the international finals taking place in Malaysia on November 29. © PMCO/Tencent After a triple chicken-dinner snag, Entity Gaming grabbed the top spot with 220 points, while fan-favourites SouL came hot on their heels with 210, and a single chicken-dinner. SouL's Naman Mathur, aka MortaL, claimed Tencent's 'fan-favourite' award, and addressed fans, supporters and rivals in a lengthy Facebook post. Unexpectedly, Mumbai-based MortaL not only dedicated their effort in the tournament to the Indian Army, but also announced that he would be donating his share of the earnings to them as well. According to the National Defence Fund website, donations made will primarily fund technical scholarships and the families of ex-servicemen in the forces - quite the noble cause. It's been a tense year for gaming in India - stories of PUBG addiction and even a death caused by overplaying the game have given mobile gaming a bad rap amongst parents and schools, though e-sports success stories such as these prove that there's potential for not just professional careers in gaming, but humanitarian support as well. Regarding his 'fan-favourite' award, the 23-year-old gamer said, “It feels great! I was not aware of vote stuff, but later on, Tencent guys came to me and handed over the goodies saying that you have won the fan-favorite award on the website.” View the full article
  22. The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd wired in-ear earphones showed up for review at a time when the 3.5mm headphone jack is becoming obsolete. Seriously, I didn't think I'd be reviewing wired in-ear earphones in 2019. But you know what? It's earphones like these that make me want to use smartphones and other audio equipment that have an audio jack. Trust me, I've been using the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd earphones for the last couple of weeks to listen to all my music, both when I am just chilling at home and on the go, and I've been loving it. Let me tell you all about it - Design & Build Quality In terms of the looks, these look like very basic. You see, Beyerdynamic has been making audio equipment for a long time now. Their products are best known for audio quality, not much for the design aesthetics. It's one of those brands that focus on performance over looks. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer So when you look at the Beat Byrd and give it a listen, you'll quickly realize that the company's objective was to make a piece of hardware that's more functional. The earpiece housing is made out of plastic and you get silicon ear tips. There are no fancy rugged braided cables to be seen here and all you get is a cable made out of rubber. These also happen to be one of the most affordable products from the company, which explains why it doesn't look all that fancy. They're certainly not going to grab any attention like, say, the AirPods do, but the audiophiles around you will definitely appreciate your choice. Also, they're supremely comfortable. I literally had them on for multiple hours the other day without experiencing fatigue. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer And since we're talking about the build quality, I think it's a good time to point out that these earphones lack a remote or mic. So yes, you won't be able to take calls or switch/ play/ pause music. It'll obviously come as a surprise for most people, but that shouldn't really bother you if you're picking these earphones strictly for listening to music. Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd Audio Quality Before I talk about the audio quality, I'd like to point out that it's extremely important to pick the right size of ear tips for a snug fit. That's how you'll be able to enjoy the music and get the most out of this pair of earphones. In fact, that holds true for all the earphones, because if they don't fit well enough, then you're not going to experience bass. The Beat Byrd comes with a couple of ear tips inside the box, so be sure you play around with the fit before jumping into music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer That's the first thing I did before listening to any music and boy was I surprised by the audio quality. Alright, I am not going to say that these are best sounding earphones or headphones that I've ever used. The 1More Quad Driver earphones and the Sennheiser HE 1 still take the cake for that, but the Beat Byrd is certainly one of the best wired in-ear earphones I've used in my recent memory. I started listening to my usual Spotify playlist to get an idea of how good they are. But as soon as I connected it to my Pixel 3a XL and popped them in, I was quite surprised by the audio quality. And that's when I started exploring more music, going back to my old playlist to find some classic funk and hip-hop music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd is a pair of bass heavy earphones. If you're not into them, then these aren't for you. But one of the things that I really liked is that the bass had more depth than I had expected. The way they're tuned is extremely warm and friendly, and the bass is clearly given more supremacy. If you primarily listen to hip-hop music Tupac's 'Until the End of Time' Album. Or try listening to something like Fat Larry's 'Band - Act Like You Know', you'll love it. The Final Say You can pick up the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd for just Rs. 2,199, which, as mentioned earlier, makes it the company's one of the most affordable products. At that price, it's really hard to criticize it. Yes, the design could have been a little better, but it's important to understand that it's not always about the design. If you like bass-heavy earphones, then you find it an absolute pleasure to use these earphones. The audio quality is simply addictive. Overall, I'll say that Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd's bass-heavy sound is something that you'll absolutely fall in love with. Even without any discounts, these are simply awesome for the price. So, just go ahead and pick one up.
  23. The Indian cricket team comprises of numerous players who share more than just a good rapport with each other. And then, there are Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul whose bromance probably overshadows the camaraderie shared between other players in the team. From hanging out together on tours to exchanging their jerseys on the field, it's needless to say that the young duo is inseparable. However, the year 2019 started on a disastrous note for the Indian stars. The two cricketers were reprimanded for their demeanour on the popular TV show 'Koffee With Karan'. There was a lot of backlash on social media that in turn led to their respective suspensions at the hands of the Indian cricket board. © Instagram/@hardikpandya93 It was arguably the lowest of lows in their respective careers. But, the two cricketers didn't let it affect their mindset as they won the fans back with spirited performances, upon their return, on the field. While Rahul looks determined in his batting approach for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), Pandya, too, appears more focussed while carrying out his responsibilities for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season. Their fall from grace seems to have brought the much-needed maturity into their approach towards the game. And, with the chat show controversy behind them, both Rahul and Pandya are looking to make the most of the opportunities with positive intent - something that was highlighted in the latter's latest Instagram post. View this post on Instagram Brothers for life !!!!! No matter what !!! Love u bro @rahulkl happy birthday. Let's make it our year A post shared by Hardik Pandya (@hardikpandya93) on Apr 17, 2019 at 11:34am PDT On 18th April, Rahul turned 27. From his fans to teammates, everyone poured in heartfelt wishes for the Karnataka batsman. But, the one from Pandya clearly stood out. Taking to Instagram to wish his best mate, Pandya wrote: "Brothers for life !!!!! No matter what !!! Love u bro @rahulkl happy birthday. Let's make it our year". Both Rahul and Pandya have been included in Team India's 15-man squad for the ICC World Cup by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). While Rahul will either provide a back-up option as an opener or might just get to play at the much-debated No. 4 slot, Pandya will add teeth to the Indian line-up with his all-around abilities.
  24. 1st April a.k.a April Fool's Day has always been the day on which all brands try to put their best foot forward and lie to us for the sake of, well, comedy. You definitely shouldn't be believing what you see or hear on April Fool's day, but it's also the day that brings out the best in the tech space. Well, 2019 was no exception, and we got to see a lot of interesting stuff from big name companies. But here are the best April Fool's Day pranks, which we wish actually real: 1. Notifications That Literally Follow! Duolingo's pesky notifications bugging you every day to take your language test can get super annoying, which is why we're sure you end up ignoring them. But this April fool's day, the company took a step further by introducing the idea of having a large green owl appear in real life and follow you around to remind you to practice your language lessons. Heck, they even come in three modes - encouraging, disappointed, or passive aggressive - and it's downright hilarious. Check it out - 2. A Smart Assistant For Gaming? Sure. Nvidia also took it a step further by announcing a GeForce RTX smart assistant called R.O.N. The company claims it can give you cool tips when you play games like Apex Legends, telling you to hide, etc. R.O.N. can also use its brains to leave comments on sites like Reddit and Twitch for you. But be careful, R.O.N. can become a serious troll. The best part, however, has got to be the device itself, which throws a really cool holograph. Check it out - 3. RGB CPU, Anyone? Newegg's new CPU for April Fool's day makes us wonder - “How much RGB is too much RGB?” Seriously, the company showcased an RGB CPU for people who just can't have enough RGB in their life. It costs a hefty $4,999.99, and it comes with a whopping 100 cores and 200 threads. Its base clock is a supposed 1.4 Petahertz and overclock, well, if you overclock it, Newegg says you “might create a small black hole inside your CPU.” It's not something that we want, because the CPU will anyway be tucked inside a cooler, but it's a hilarious idea. Check it out here - 4. Do You Like Cup Noodles? Yes, that's what HyperX and Nissin came up with. Needs no explanation we suppose? They even claim that you can detach the fork and slurp some noodles while gaming. Sounds just about right. © HyperX - Noodles 5. Like Sharing Your Music? If you don't like HyperX's idea, then how about something more practical? Like this Jabra Earbud(dy) headphones, with which you can share the music that you're listening to. It apparently comes with an ultra-light headband that can be extended “seamlessly to accommodate the perfect fit for every pair of buddies.” © Jabra 6. An App Find Your Lost LEGO Bricks? LEGO's “Find My Brick”, as the name suggests, is a parody of Apple's Find My iPhone app. It will help you find your bricks for you in a pile of miscellaneous blocks. Image how simple your life would be with such an app, and that's exactly why we think this should actually be real. The long search is finally over... ð± #FindMyBrick pic.twitter.com/3yBIPJ2OPk — LEGO (@LEGO_Group) April 1, 2019 Well, that wraps our list of April Fool's pranks. Of course, there were countless other pranks by the likes of OnePlus, Razer, Tinder, etc., but these are the ones which we truly wished existed in real life, especially the Nvidia R.O.N. and LEGO app.
