  2. Lahore police say they recovered weapons from the detained individuals and were carrying out raids to nab the remaining four
  3. For a team that began their campaign with a loss, Mumbai Indians (MI) were once again underestimated by the opposition, pundits and probably fans as they succumbed to a crushing loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last league match. Losing a bit of momentum, many felt the four-time IPL champions weren't up to the task this season. However, contrary to popular perception, all doubts were laid to rest by a rampant Mumbai brigade as they notched up a thumping 57-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) to seal their berth in this season's final. Quinton de Kock (40) gave Mumbai a roaring start, while the likes of Ishan Kishan (55*) and Suryakumar Yadav (51) anchored the innings. But, it was Hardik Pandya's 14-ball 37 that powered Mumbai to a 200-run total. View the full article
  4. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your awareness of the privileges you enjoy? Because let’s face it, our generation is so sold on the ‘face value’ of things, we have been completely ignorant towards the real things that matter. For instance, taking care of our surroundings and doing the bare minimum expected of educated, civilised people to protect the environment that rests at the very root of our existence. But unfortunately, that seems like a lot to ask for because time and again we prove that we really ‘don’t give a sh*t’. © Pexels Pretty much like the two youngsters who were forced to travel 80km to Coorg (Kodagu) so that they could own up to their misplaced sense of entitlement and clean up the garbage they had thrown out of their car while travelling through the highway. Here’s what happened. The General Secretary of Kodagu Tourism Association was travelling on the highway when he found some pizza boxes conveniently discarded on the side of the road. On checking, he chanced upon the bill inside one of the boxes, which carried the contact details of the person who had made the order. The General Secretary called on the number and requested the person to return to the spot and clean the litter. © Twitter/cabterburycc However, the person on the phone simply apologised but refused to do the needful citing he had crossed Coorg already. It was then that the defaulter’s number was shared with the local police as well as uploaded on social media. After receiving a number of calls, the youngsters were ‘forced’ to turn around and drive back 80km to come pick up the boxes. Serves them right, and Twitteratis agree too. These are urban fellows going on weekend joy rides to pristine places and wrecking them too. Good this shaming worked. Civic sense is zero in the urban so called educated fellows who can pay 500 rupees for a pizza but have no sense to dispose of their own trash properly. — Lalita Pulavarti (@Lalita_Pulavart) November 2, 2020Awesome... 5. The match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals has to be one of the most boring matches this season, especially when it was preceded by the brilliant double Super Over clash between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. CSK managed to score 125 runs which is the lowest first innings total this season and the Royals were able to easily chase it down with two and a half overs to spare. Jos Buttler, who smashed an unbeaten 70 off 48 deliveries received ‘Man of the Match’. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@rajasthanroyals) Other than that, there was simply very little to talk about from whatever happened on the field. Oh, and CSK absolutely sucked. Off the field, however, what caught everyone’s attention was Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s comments about his own teammates and how it felt as if the 39-year-old veteran has already given up on all intentions of going ahead in the tournament, at least this season. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) After the disappointing defeat in his 200th IPL match, Dhoni said: “You don’t want to chop and change. Insecurity is something you don’t want to prevail in the dressing room. Fair enough, this season we weren’t really there.”The skipper then went on to criticise his own teammates, especially the young blood for not showing the “spark”. He said: “Also the youngsters, we didn’t see the spark to push the guys. But what this result has done is give those youngsters a chance in the rest of the tournament. Maybe going forward we bring them in and they play without pressure.” View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) While nobody questioned Dhoni’s ability to lead a team to a title in the past, for him to throw his team’s youngsters under the bus like that, especially this season when the skipper himself has failed to leave an impact, is not justified. A season high of 47 runs while playing with a strike rate of 125.19, Dhoni has not only lost 70% of his matches this year but has also been criticised for not showing the intent to win. Ha ha ha , they are out of the season. This ipl is over for them. . Good to see the points table. pic.twitter.com/ab8M9A1vWb — basuCHANDAKi (@basuCHANDAKi) October 20, 2020 Early in the season, one of his biggest critics in Gautam Gambhir had called the captain out for “not leading the team from the front” when he had promoted relatively inexperienced players like Sam Curran and Kedar Jadhav ahead of him in the batting order during a chase. The lack of intent isn’t new either. Back in 2019 when India lost their first match in the World Cup against England, it was all-rounder Ben Stokes who pointed out how there was no sense of willingness, no sense of urgency in the way Dhoni was performing on the pitch, when his team, his country needed him to play like the finisher he used to be. © Reuters To the fans who blindly follow ‘Captain Cool’, I understand that MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings to three remarkable IPL titles, making the franchise one of the most successful in league history but you can’t bask in the glory of the past forever. Every season is a new one and if you are one of those rare athletes your franchise paid massive sums of money to retain, you can’t afford to shift the blame on the less experienced, definitely not when you are the leader of the squad. View this post on InstagramA post shared by (@chennaiipl) “Step up or step aside,” that has to be one of the few basic lessons the world of sports teaches everyone involved in the fraternity. If you feel you are too old for being the best player on the field, then retire. Otherwise, show up when the team wants you the most. You’ve been doing it all your career, MS Dhoni. Time to do it again. View the full article
  6. Ever since the advent of Twenty20 (T20) format, the world of cricket has witnessed numerous leagues coming to the fore. From Australia, West Indies, Pakistan to even Bangladesh, every country has got its own T20 tournaments now. But, amongst those, none can match the Indian Premier League (IPL) in terms of stature or popularity. In the last 12 years, the IPL has established itself as one of the biggest and most-watched T20 tournaments across the globe. Bringing some of the biggest names together in franchise-based teams, the IPL has proved to be the go-to source of entertainment for cricket fans over the years. Big stars, celebrity owners, hefty paychecks and cheerleaders; IPL is the perfect mix of cricket, glitz and glamour. But, that's not all. There is more to India's cash-rich T20 event than meets the eye. Far away from all the razzmatazz, IPL has served as a pivotal platform for young guns to prove their mettle and rise through the ranks. And, the thirteenth edition, currently being played in the United Arab Emirates, has proved to be no different. Despite their tender age, Indian youngsters in IPL 2020 are not just learning while playing with more experienced campaigners, in fact, if their recent performances is anything to go by, it's safe to say they have successfully managed to overshadow the proven stars on the back of their brilliant performances this season. Here's a look at those 5 Indian young guns who've won fans over this season: 1. Devdutt Padikkal © Twitter/@IPL For an exquisite stroke player who set the 2018 U-19 World Cup on fire, Shubman Gill didn't surprise anyone after getting a Rs 1.9-crore contract from Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. And, ever since making his IPL debut in 2018, young Gill has looked better with every game. But, it's the ongoing season where the right-hander truly looks in a class of his own. Tasked with the responsibility of opening the innings, the 21-year-old batsman is leading the charts as top run-scorer for KKR this season. In the seven matches he has played so far, Gill has amassed 254 runs including two fifties. In a team that has got star batsmen like Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell, Gill has been busy carving his own niche on the back of superlative batting performances this season. 4. Rahul Chahar © Twitter/@IPL For a youngster who led India to the U-19 World Cup triumph in 2018, Prithvi Shaw, like his teammates, was amongst the most sought after players in the IPL Auction. He was eventually bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 1.2 crore and has gone on to become a key member of the Shreyas Iyer-led side. After getting plenty of game-time last season, Shaw has looked in ominous form this year. Opening the innings for Delhi, the right-hander has been responsible for providing good starts to his team and also played some match-winning knocks. In the eight matches he has played so far, Shaw has amassed 202 runs including two fifties. He is also the third-highest run-scorer for Delhi this season, only behind Shikhar Dhawan and Iyer. 7. For a team that had, in their last game, recorded the highest successful run-chase in the tournament's history, Rajasthan Royals (RR) have set the expectations so high in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season that every time they come out on the field, fans expect them to win in style. But, contrary to popular perception, Steve Smith's men were cut a sorry figure by a rampant Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side who romped their way to a convincing 37-run win. Chasing 174 runs, Rajasthan were bundled out for 137 runs with their explosive batting order witnessing a rare off day. While Rajasthan endured their first defeat of the season, Kolkata made the most of their outing in Dubai - all thanks to their young guns. It was young Shubman Gill's brilliant knock of 47 runs that laid the foundation of their competitive total. And then, the likes of Shivam Mavi (2-20) and Kamlesh Nagarkoti (2-13), of India's Under-19 fame, played a key role in putting the brakes on Rajasthan's chase with their bowling effort. 8. Ever since the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, life as we know it has never been the same. Fear, worry and stress were the initial responses towards the threat related to contracting the deadly disease. But, things have gotten worse. The significant changes to our daily lives, in a bid to contain the pandemic, have further added to the woes. Faced with new realities of working from home, temporary unemployment, home-schooling of children, and lack of physical contact with our loved ones have all been a catalyst to the worsening mental health of people, mostly youngsters. This is the time when special attention and care to our mental health has become the need of the hour. Lifting the spirits of those who need our support and helping them overcome the situation at hand in these troubled times, has become a top priority. And, that's probably the goal behind Irfan Pathan's latest Instagram video. View this post on InstagramThat feeling after a good #practise and #running #nothingbetter #loveitA post shared by (@irfanpathan_official) One of India's most effective swing bowlers, Irfan reached the 2-million mark in terms of followers on Instagram. In a bid to thank his fans for all the love and support, the left-hander made a beautiful video where he was seen urging people to fight against setbacks and kick depression out of their lives. Addressing the issue of rising suicides, the Indian legend reiterated that one should not give up at any point in life. He urged the youngsters not to lose hope despite the troublesome situations that come their way. Making a vital point, he urged everyone to talk to friends and family whenever they feel low. View this post on InstagramThank you for 2 #million support. A small msg for all my fans. Please do listen 👂 #love #2million #staystrongA post shared by (@irfanpathan_official) “Two million and counting. Thank you so much for your love and support. I hope and pray that you keep showering your love on me. On this day, I definitely want to address an issue. Many youngsters try to hurt themselves in recent times. I feel extremely sad after hearing such news. On this day when I’ve crossed the two million mark, I want to tell people that there comes a time in the life of every successful individual when he feels that there’s no path left ahead of him. Believe me, God opens the other ten paths if he closes one for you. Even if life gives you many setbacks, never ever think of hurting yourself and giving up in life. If you need someone during such times, talk with your family and friends who are close to you. Don’t ever lose the battle against life,” Irfan said in the video. At a time, when all hope seems lost and nothing appears to be going your way, hang in there, if not for anything else, just for the promise of a better tomorrow. Things will get better and this too shall pass. Till then, stay safe and stay strong. View the full article

  10. Anil Kapoor must be doing something weird - something no one knows about, something that's keeping him young, in fact, perhaps even turning the clock in reverse for him. We are not saying it, it's just the general sentiment among people, who constantly wonder how on earth this man seems to be getting younger by the day. Now, we have made peace with just believing that he's another case like Benjamin Button, but what baffles us is that his fashion sense is also getting edgier by the day! He just clicked a picture with a bunch of youngsters (compared to him, of course) like Aditya Roy Kapoor and Kunal Khemu, and stole their collective thunder by wearing a pair of funky AF pink shoes. Take a look. © Instagram/Anillskapoor © Instagram/Anilskapoor Isn't Mr Kapoor standing apart by a mile, thanks to his footwear game? He's wearing the OFF-WHITE x Nike Zoom Fly in Tulip Pink - a pair of sneakers that are extremely conspicuous, while being comfortable at the same time. © Kicksonfore © Kicksonfore The signature Off-White typography along with the multiple shades of pink make this a pair that's a definite collectable, and every sneakerhead will agree. Right, Anand Ahuja? © Kicksonfore © Kicksonfore We're in love with the ergonomic design, as well as the signature laces. All we can say is, Mr Kapoor, take a bow because you're doing it just right.
  11. We grew up admiring Bollywood stars for a number of reasons - some for their charisma, some for their physique, some because of how good-looking they were. However, sometimes, those criteria change. For example, Suniel Shetty wasn't really admired because of his fashion sense back in the '90s, during his peak years, but look at the man now! He is 57, but he looks incredible, and we won't even be exaggerating if we said he looks better than ever. He was recently spotted at the airport in a fitted T-shirt and jogger pants, and we couldn't help but admire how excellently he is embracing age. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani To have maintained that toned, musclebound physique at the age of 57 in itself is worthy of appreciation, but Suniel sure knows how to do justice to it by dressing right. We love his choice of T-shirt. The royal blue perfectly complements his skin tone. Plus, it's doing wonders for that perfectly shaped salt-n-pepper beard as well. © Viral Bhayani The fact that he has chosen to wear a pair of well-fitted jogger pants in light blue, shows that he understands how to utilize the shade card in terms of choosing outfits. We are in love with the combination. It is classy, and extremely versatile. © Viral Bhayani Mr Shetty's choice of footwear shows that he is all about minimalism and class. What other footwear, other than a pair of white sneakers, can possibly look better with this outfit? © Viral Bhayani He has kept the accessory bit minimal, by opting for a pair of aviators and a silver 'kada' - simple, but classy. The youngsters are jealous, Mr S. And rightfully so!
  12. Social media is where the current generation of tech-savvy and information-hungry junkies live. We breathe in the latest updates in the form of push notifications and tend to our serious cases of FOMO with the help of social networking websites. Not just that, the social media has also helped us in sorting out our need for instant gratification, by the means of bringing our every need within the reach of our palm. Whether it is food or entertainment we seek, it's all available at the click of a button. With as many as 3.196 billion global social media users, and almost 42% penetration in 2018, as per a 'We Are Social' special report, this power has also helped to change the lives of many commoners like ourselves. These people have explored the potential of social media to the fullest and emerged as the greatest social media celebs our generation has ever seen. For some, life has changed overnight, while for others it took a little longer. But they are here now, and they are causing quite a stir online. Here are the success stories of 5 young social media celebs of recent times. 1. Ashish Chanchlani © Instagram YouTuber and Viner, Ashish needs no introduction. It was a short video by David Lopez that changed the life of this engineering graduate. He initially started out as a motivational speaker of sorts, but it was his comic vines that earned him crazy popularity. With close to 8 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, his videos are hilarious with a lot of cuss words that make up his earnest expressions on the camera. He hails Akshay Kumar as his role model and is said to have started his YouTube channel as a means to accomplish his desire to act. Youngsters across the country love his work, and his online presence keeps on growing bigger and bigger. 2. Srishti Dixit © Instagram It was probably her take on the iconic character of Poo from K3G, played by Kareena Kapoor, that changed the Kanpur girl's life forever. In the video shared by BuzzFeed India, not only do we come across Srishti's acting skills, but also come to love her comic timing. And just like that, Srishti became internet's new celeb overnight. Her wit, brutal honesty and authenticity make her a relatable personality that her audience can instantly connect to. What's more, she has gone on to appear on various shows and shared the stage with prominent personalities like Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. More recently, she also graced the pages of Verve magazine with Cyrus Broacha, his dog and her cat Patches. 3. Amit Bhadana © Instagram With over 11 million subscribers, Bhadana is one of India's most popular YouTubers, perhaps second to only Bhuvan Bam. The 24-year-old Gurjar boy from Delhi is popular for his honest and uber hilarious takes on relationships and intricacies of people's personality. With a bachelor's degree in Law, Amit had a hard time convincing his parents that YouTube is what he wanted to do full time. What's more, his parents were clueless about his endeavours when he started out. In an interview with HT, he said that it was his online popularity that finally gave him away. An absolute hit with young Indians, people cannot seem to get enough of his funny bones. 4. Tushar Lall © Instagram The mastermind behind one of the greatest musical revolutions to have gripped India in recent years, Lall is the man behind 'The Indian Jam Project'. The idea was to bring Indian classical musicians onto one platform and recreate popular movie and TV scores. A Music Production student from Dubspot, New York, Lall always wanted to bring together Indian classical music into the contemporary music scene. When BuzzFeed and MTV Indies picked up his first raw take on the musical fusion with 'Game of Thrones' opening theme song cover, he became an internet sensation overnight. The Indian Jam Project's work has caught the attention of prominent personalities such as Emmy award-winning composer Michael Price, actor and novelist Mark Gatiss, and Hollywood film score composer Clint Mansell, among others. Some of his covers of cult scores, such as the theme music of 'Harry Potter' and 'Star Wars' have gotten them a lot of eyeballs (and ears). 5. Kenneth 'Kenny' Sebastian © Instagram One of India's most beloved comic stars, Kenny's USP lies in his ability to satirise the trivialities of the Indian middle class, thrive on the idiosyncrasies of the underdog and bring out the relatable side of the most mundane aspects of human existence. His rendezvous with stand-up comedy happened by chance. It was during his days in college that he decided to participate in a stand-up competition being held by IIT-Mumbai during its Mood Indigo Festival. Guess what? Not only did he win the competition and the cash money, but also got his first break to perform at the prestigious 'The Comedy Store'. With close to 2 million subscribers on YouTube and a huge fan following outside of the virtual space. He's a super talented musician besides being a filmmaker and stand-up comedian. The guy holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts and is a trained painter too. How talented! Inspiring people, aren't they?
  13. Ever since leading India to the ICC Under-19 World Cup title, Prithvi Shaw has taken huge strides to establish himself as one of the most exciting young talents in the country. His artistry with the willow was in full display during the U-19 World Cup, which was followed by an impressive stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year. Tipped as the next Sachin Tendulkar, Shaw made a sensational debut for Team India when he smashed a brilliant 134 in the first Test against West Indies in Rajkot. In the process, he became the youngest Indian batsman to score a ton on his Test debut. He, then, followed it up with a quickfire 70 in the first innings of the second Test in Hyderabad. © BCCL While India blanked a hapless Windies 2-0 in the Test series, it was undoubtedly the 18-year-old who stood out amongst some of the biggest names in international cricket. Scoring 237 runs in three innings against the visiting side, Shaw deservingly bagged the Man of the Series award in his maiden stint with the senior team. However, as Shaw continues to hog the limelight, there are other youngsters who are quietly going about their business in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. With bare minimum spotlight and no fanfare, these young guns have taken the tournament by storm - once again highlighting the immense talent on display in India's domestic circuit: Rahul Desraj Chahar © Twitter The younger brother of Team India's upcoming seamer Deepak Chahar, Rahul rose to prominence earlier this year when Mumbai Indians shelled out a whopping Rs 1.9 crore (19 times of his base price) during the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions. While he didn't get enough game time to prove his mettle, the 19-year-old has taken the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy by storm. Far away from the spotlight and fanfare, the 19-year-old has been quietly going about his business in the domestic 50-over tournament. Plying his trade with Rajasthan, the youngster was seen bamboozling the opposition batsmen with his mystery leg spin. In the nine matches he played, the young leggie claimed 20 scalps and is currently placed third in the list of leading wicket-takers this season. Though his side crashed out of the tournament, Rahul's brilliant outing surely makes him one of the most exciting young talents in the country. Shubman Gill © BCCL Arguably one of the highly-rated talents in the list of India's next generation cricketers, Shubman Gill has been busy impressing everyone one tournament after another. His penchant for big runs during India's triumphant U-19 World Cup run was in full display. And then, he justified his Rs 1.8-crore price tag with some sublime performances for the Kolkata Knight Knight Riders in this year's IPL season. Continuing his marauding run, the 19-year-old has been seen going hammer and tongs in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. Playing for Punjab, the right-hander amassed 418 runs including three fifties and a hundred in the seven matches he played this season. His brilliant knock of 115 runs was the reason why Punjab managed to edge past Himachal Pradesh in one of their group games. While Punjab could only manage to win 4 out of their eight matches before bowling out of the tournament, young Shubman's artistry with the willow undeniably reminded everyone what this young lad brings to the table. Varun Chakravarthy © TNPL While prominent names in the domestic circuit continue to garner spotlight, there have been players like Varun Chakravarthy who continue to lurk in the shadows despite proving their mettle, time and again. His spin bowling prowess was in full display during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) where he established himself as Siechem Madurai Panthers' secret weapon. If his impressive TNPL outing got people talking, Chakravarthy's exploits in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy has once again highlighted his ability to perform for his team. Playing for Tamil Nadu, the rising star has taken 22 wickets in nine appearances this season. His five-wicket haul against the Services also paved way for Tamil Nadu's 83-run win over Services in one of their group games. Though he is regarded as an all-rounder, it is Chakravarthy's majestic spin bowling that has allowed him to turn heads in the domestic circuit. From bowling a straighter one, flipper to a zooter, this budding cricketer boasts it all (five cunning variations in total). Ishan Kishan © Twitter A wicket-keeper and left-handed opening batsman from Jharkhand, young Ishan Kishan has come a long way since leading India to the runners-up position at the 2016 U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh. His attacking batting style and brilliant glovework earned him an IPL debut after Gujarat Lions secured his services during the auctions in 2016. He was then roped in by Mumbai Indians and has gone on to become a vital cog for Rohit Sharma's side. Kishan's ability to aid his team once again came to the fore in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The youngster has been seen in a sublime form while playing for Jharkhand in the tournament. In eight matches he has played so far, the 20-year-old has scored 384 runs including three fifties and a hundred this season. Leading Jharkhand in the tournament, the youngster played a captain's knock in a Group C match against Assam where he scored a sensational 91-ball 139 to secure an eight-wicket win for his side.

  16. Of all the people in Bollywood who have aged really well, the one that really takes the cake, apart from Mr Anil Kapoor, is Suniel Shetty. Remember his scruffy self in the 90's, where all he would sport were ill-fitting garments and a questionable haircut? Well, he has redeemed himself and how! Also, he has maintained that fit AF physique that he's always had. He was recently spotted at the airport in a cool camouflage shirt, looking baller. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani Camo is making a comeback. Remember the khaki cargo pants that got insanely popular a decade back and then somehow just vanished? The only print that gave competition to the khaki madness was camo. It used to rule the roost, as far as 'cool clothes' are concerned. Every teenager who used to have a pop culture fixation was a camo fan. Looks like those days are coming back, minus the age bracket. © Viral Bhayani We are in love with the straight fit jeans with the vertical stitch details. The shaded, duo tone palette is pure 'trendsetting' material, and not many can pull it off. © Viral Bhayani His shaded tan shoes might be an unusual accompaniment with the casualness of this particular outfit, but it just goes with his mature vibe. © Viral Bhayani The black sunnies and the kada make for the perfect, minimalistic accessories that don't steal the focus away from the shirt. Well done, Mr Shetty!
  17. 1. Living Beyond Your Means © AZ Quotes It is the 21st century and everybody in your circle is living that high profile life even though they are going broke by the end of the month, which leads you to think that why shouldn't you too? If you are fine with living a debt-stressed life all the time then it is your choice to make. Your apartment rent, your frequent clubbing with friends and eating out often are the thing you can choose to cut your expenses upon. After all, the place where you live, what you wear and where you eat are the big three expenses of your life and takes the huge chunk out of your salary. If you can minimize them, you would be more financially independent than you have ever been. Be smart, make smarter choices. 2. Buying A New Car © Thinkstock The moment you hit the road with your spanking new car and your money goes into the pocket of the car dealer, the value of your car is sliced in half. Buying a new car makes no sense. It is not an asset but a liability. Remember an asset is something like real estate or gold whose value increases with time, on the other hand, a new car is something whose value decreases the moment its wheel touches the road. If you are buying that car on a hefty EMI then it is a huge NO. Aside from the original price of the car, you will be paying a huge amount of interest on that as well. One of the best ways to buy a car is to buy a previously owned car with low mileage in cash and drive it until the wheels fall off 3. An Expensive Education With Low Market Value © Thinkstock The thumb rule is that your total student loan debt shouldn't be more than what you're going to earn after your first year out of school. That's why a business degree has been more successful than other options. Now, we don't mean to say that you should not pursue your passion but do it when you are self-sufficient to afford it and not make the financial situation miserable. And, if you are thirsty for knowledge alone then there are books and internship opportunities you can learn from. A degree does not mean the end of the world. 4. Carrying Credit Card Balance © ComparaSave Having balance in your credit card does not mean you have earned that money, but it is the loan you are making for which you will also have the extra interest. Then there are hefty fees which these credit card companies charges annually and on every purchase, you make that you won't ever imagine. I am not kidding. You will believe it if you ask someone who has ever taken the cash out of their credit card and they will be able to tell you the true harsh story. 5. Having A Cable Connection © Thinkstock Having a cable connection not only sucks the money out of your pocket but also steals important time from your precious day. There are people who are working as hard as possible on the weekend to make their dreams come true and here you will be endlessly scrolling through the channels watching the worthless infinite content. When you choose a subscription model you have limited content and have something certain in mind to watch. This way you watch what you want to, and then get back to business and that is how it should be done. Don't let the idiot box turn you into one. 6. Not Taking Free Money © BankBazaar If you have an Employee Provident Fund (EPF) scheme and you have no idea if your money is going into that or not, then you are going wrong. The money saved in your EPF account is tax-free that means no tax is charged by the government on the money saved in your EPF account. It is quite similar to 401(K) account which is followed in the US. The employer and the employee both have an equal contribution to your EPF account and if you are missing out on grabbing this free, tax exempted money, then you are missing a lot. Then there is the PPF account which you can open yourself and save money which is also not taxable either. 7. Not Budgeting © Thinkstock If you don't track your spending, then you are bound to spend more than you should. Keeping a budget is like keeping a journal which helps you know what costs you more and where you could save more money. This way you can plan your expenditure and save yourself from going broke by the end of every month. 8. Not Saving © Thinkstock If you are just earning and spending it all on clubbing or shopping, then what is the use of that earning. If you can't afford a good vacation once in awhile, then you need to look at your spending habits. Saved money can help you with your study abroad plans, an emergency fund in case you or your family member gets sick. You can choose to buy real estate or make any other investment. You can do all this only when you have money in your pocket. 9. Not Investing © Thinkstock Investing is the biggest weapon of rich people. This is exactly how they get rich. They live under their means, they save and then they invest their money which in return works for them even while they are sleeping. When you have money saved you can choose to invest in stocks, bonds, real estate or anything you have knowledge of. 10. Ignoring Quality While Purchasing Anything © Thinkstock It is easy to get swayed by cheap prices and ignore the quality of the product you are planning to purchase. Our mind works on the instant benefit and ignores the long-term profits of thing. Train your mind and make a habit of buying only a high-quality product. They have longer lives and are easy to maintain and it is profitable to buy once then replace it again and again. Next time you are planning to buy a refrigerator, air conditioner or a trimmer go for the one which is under your budget and has good quality as well. We are sure there would be enough choice with available variety and competition going on in the market.

  19. Shoaib Malik in action during first ODI ABU DHABI: Experienced batsman Shoaib Malik believes youngsters should be given the chance to carry a winning momentum into the second day-night international against Sri Lank in Abu Dhabi on Monday. Malik´s swashbuckling 61-ball 81 and a return to form 103 by Babar Malik lifted Pakistan to 292-6 in the first one-day in Dubai on Friday before they kept Sri Lanka to 209-8 for a 83-run win. The match was Pakistan´s first since winning the top eight nation Champions Trophy in England in June this year. Malik said youngsters are developing fast. "It´s important to give youngsters consistent chances and by doing that we develop them and the team does well," said Malik, declared man-of-the-match on Friday. Malik said Pakistan has a potent bowling attack. "We have good fast bowlers and the way they took wickets in the middle overs during the Champions trophy it helped us beat top teams and here too they bowled well and got us wickets we needed," said Malik. Fast-rising paceman Hasan Ali -- declared player of the Champions trophy with 13 wickets -- finished with 3-36 while left-armer Rumman Raees took 3-49 to derail Sri Lanka. Pakistan will retain the same combination despite opener Ahmed Shehzad failing to score on Friday. Sri Lankan coach Nic Pothas is demanding his players snap a losing streak of eight consecutive games. "We have not been very good in this format for a while now," said Pothas, a former South African wicket-keeper. "We have to find answers and find them quick." Pothas wants his batsmen to deliver. "From a batting point of view, the currency of your batting is runs. If you don´t keep making them, the shop is going to close down at some point. We have to ask the batters to take some responsibility." "The top six batters managed 96 between them. One batter got 53 and you are not going to get too many," said Pothas of Lahiru Thirimanne who scored a half century. The remaining matches will be played in Abu Dhabi (October 18) and Sharjah (October 20 and 23). Sri Lanka to confirm Pakistan tour today, says team manager The two teams will also play three Twenty20 internationals, two in Abu Dhabi (October 26 and 27) while the last is scheduled for Lahore on October 29. Sri Lankan players had shown reservations over going to Lahore for security fears and a final decision is expected soon. Pakistan Cricket Board has been endeavouring to bring international cricket back amidst improved security in the country.
