  1. The Simpsons along with The Family Guy and South Park are some of the timeless American animated sitcoms that continue to be a source of laughter to millions of people across the globe, regardless of them falling under the category of being a Boomer, Millennial, or Gen Z. However, while being incredibly funny, the shows have also remained a topic of debate with regard to controversial content that is at times deemed offensive to people of a certain region, race, or color. With the new age of social media bringing a host of important issues such as gender equality, women empowerment, racism, mental health, and online bullying to the forefront, there has been a higher level of accountability from people who produce content consumed by millions of people. One man who has taken up responsibility for his actions is American actor, voice actor, comedian, and producer Hank Azaria, who voiced the animated character of Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, an Indian immigrant proprietor in The Simpsons. © Pinterest Hank has apologized to every Indian for the offense caused by him playing Apu on the sitcom. © Fox The 56-year-old opened up about a visit to his son's school, where he spoke at length about his character with other students. He said a young Indian student told him how his actions as the character had a huge consequence on other peoples' lives. "I was speaking at my son's school, I was talking to the Indian kids there because I wanted to get their input." "A 17-year-old... he's never even seen The Simpsons but knows what Apu means. It's practically a slur at this point. All he knows is that is how his people are thought of and represented to many people in this country," said Azaria, while speaking to Dax Shepherd on the Armchair Expert podcast, a show which talks about "the messiness of being human." © Mirror Azaria, who officially stepped away from Apu's character last year, issued an apology to everyone who might have been offended by a character he felt he had "a part in creating". "I really do apologise, it's important. I apologise for my part in creating that and participating in that. Part of me feels like I need to go to every single Indian person in this country and personally apologize. And sometimes I do," said Azaria. Earlier, in an interview with the New York Times, Azaria had spoken on his decision to leave the role of the character. "Once I realized that that was the way this character was thought of, I just didn't want to participate in it anymore. It just didn't feel right." Well, his decision to issue an apology was met with a string of reactions from people on the microblogging website, Twitter. Decades of playing the character the way the producers, directors, and writers wanted him to. If Azaria feels he must apologize, I certainly understand. I'm just saying, there are *a lot* of people who should be lining up behind him. Or in front of him to apologize first. — Rick Kiebiech (@Draft6isblue) April 13, 2021I still find the whole Apu thing stupid and nonsensical, Apu was seen more than just for his race he was an actual character and if a character’s only trait is they’re race that’s the writers fault not the actor — Keith D Gatling II (@KeithDGatlingII) April 12, 2021So, what’s he doing with all that money he made from stereotyping us? Maybe he could set up a scholarship fund or help South Asian businesses. Saying sorry now means little. — NotARaja (@NotARaja) April 12, 2021Don't shame him. All he did was portray an accent...Meryl Streep does the same thing. — MauiMellow (@AlohaDeningham) April 12, 2021@HankAzaria there is no need to apologize for Apu. The character was beautiful and you did a wonderful job playing him. I wish you were still playing Apu. Truly don’t apologize. We know your heart was in the right place. — Johnny ‘Cool’ Dewan (@JohnnyDewan) April 13, 2021Indians don't like sympathies nor do we want it. Hank Azaria is a legend. He has done nothing wrong to apologize for.I'd rather wish he doesn't. — Bramma (@bramma925) April 13, 2021No need to apologise. I am an Indian, and I do not seek apology. No need, really. Most of the Indians are not even concerned with these type of issues, they have much more important issues to attend to than seek apology from somebody who gives voice to a cartoon character. — Bane432 (@bane432) April 13, 2021He better get started yesterday. pic.twitter.com/HyeeUXoGLe — Super Straight Super Minority (@DAVID_LEE_RGV) April 12, 2021I think the important point is being missed. They can employ an Indian actor to voice an Indian character. This isn't cancel culture. It is an employment philosophy. — dowd72 (@dowd0702) April 13, 2021As an Indian-American, I've NEVER been offended by Hank Azaria voicing Apu or the character. The character is very relatable for many Indian-Americans and we should take no shame in that. — Samir Sampat (@SHSampat) April 12, 2021CAN WE STOP APOLOGIZING LIKE IT MEANS ANYTHING! CLEARLY WE ARE IN DIFFERENT TIMES... GO AHEAD AND DEMAND APOLOGIES FROM WHAT SOMEONE DID IN THE 1400’s I’LL WAIT — (alias) (@TaxTheRichBetch) April 12, 2021 View the full article
  2. Most Bollywood celebrities are surrounded by one controversy or another. Also, they often deny if asked about their differences with other actors. However, sometimes we have seen them reacting just like a regular human being, we have seen the worst cat fights in Bollywood and we have also seen actor friends becoming strangers. So, here are 5 Bollywood celebrities who held the longest grudge against their actor friends. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Sonam K Ahuja View this post on Instagram This is the most confusing controversy that you’ll ever read about. In 2009, Sonam Kapoor became the brand ambassador of a beauty brand which was also endorsed by Aishwarya Rai and she didn’t like it. After this, Sonam said controversial things about Aishwarya in an interview. She said, "Aish has worked with my dad so I have to call her aunty na!" View this post on Instagram Then in 2011, the two were supposed to walk the ramp together at the Cannes Film Festival in France. However, according to rumours Aishwarya refused to walk the ramp with Sonam and also said that she would quit if Sonam will be a part of it. But, later the two patched things up and then years later Aishwarya was seen at Sonam’s wedding. Katrina Kaif & Deepika Padukone View this post on Instagram Allegedly, Ranbir Kapoor cheated on Deepika Padukone with Katrina Kaif and later went on to date her after Ranbir and Katrina’s breakup. This also led to rumours that both had problems with each other. View this post on Instagram Later, Deepika and Ranbir’s closeness also was one of the reasons behind Katrina and Ranbir’s breakup. However, Katrina was spotted at Deepika’s wedding reception. And Deepika said in an interview about Katrina, "A lot of water has flown under the bridge. For me, just the fact that she came and was very present was gracious.” Shah Rukh Khan & Ajay Devgn Now, this one is quite silly. According to reports, Ajay Devgn didn’t like the on-screen chemistry of SRK and Kajol and this became a major concern for him. This is also one reason that the actor started disliking SRK. Also, things worsened between them when Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan were released together. Now, both are on good terms and they also shot a commercial together. Kareena Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra View this post on Instagram The two were said to have become friends when they shot Aitraaz together. However, while traveling together for a concert years later, Priyanka and Kareena got into a fight. According to reports, "They had a huge fight and were screaming at each other. They almost came to blows. They had to be pulled apart." View this post on Instagram Also, Kareena Kapoor commented on Priyanka Chopra’s accent in a Koffee With Karan episode, and later, Priyanka commented on Saif’s in return. Kareena recently also praised Priyanka’s work outside India when they appeared on a Koffee With Karan episode together. To which Priyanka responded saying, "Thank you for acknowledging my work. I really admire her for being that way for me. I am grateful for words that came from her." Salman Khan & Shah Rukh Khan View this post on Instagram This started in the year 2002 when Salman Khan reportedly barged into the sets of Chalte Chalte to talk to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Then in 2008, Salman welcomed Gauri and SRK at Katrina’s birthday party but kept taking digs at them. This argument turned into a physical fight and both had to be pulled apart. View this post on Instagram Now, the two have made their peace with each other. SRK even shared what he told his kids about their fight. He said, "I was very ashamed over the Salman issue. I hope it never happens to me again. I didn't know how to explain it, and finally told them, 'There are some people who just don't get along. I'm not disturbed that Salman and I don't talk. We're too different. His life kuch aur hai aur mera kuch aur hai, and the train shall never meet." View the full article
  3. The show Scam 1992 became an unexpected blockbuster hit and the show starred fairly new actors mostly. Pratik Gandhi played the role of Harshad Mehta in the series and became people’s favourite overnight. The story of the show was loved by the audience but it was once again retold. The Big Bull, a film starring Abhishek Bachchan that tells the same story was released recently. The film also stars Samir Soni, Saurabh Shukla, and many more. View this post on InstagramIn an interview recently, Pratik Gandhi was asked what he thinks about Abhishek Bachchan’s portrayal of Harshad Mehta in the film and show’s comparison with his film. He had the sassiest reply. He said, “There can’t be competition between actors. Had it been products, there would have been competition. If I was a biscuit or a soap, there would be competition.” He told IANS, “I am a human being. How can two people, looking so different and having distinct types of acting, be compared? I don’t take the pressure that your next thing has to be bigger than the previous one." Not only this, the Gujarati actor’s name is also included in Limca Book of Records for a monologue that he performed in three languages. View this post on Instagram According to Pratik Gandhi, the success of his series Scam 1992 is due to his steady rise as an actor. The success of the show also opened up how the show has opened up more opportunities. He said, “I would convert this as excitement where people are giving me different opportunities now. They are open to working with me on different subjects — which is very exciting for me as an actor, and I am just looking forward to playing another character. So yeah, I don’t think that much. My theatre background is helping me here". What do you think? Let us know in the comments section below! View the full article

  9. Shah Rukh Khan’s charm has ruled Bollywood for years but after Zero, things weren’t working out for the actor and he decided to go on a hiatus. He took time to say yes to a script and was rumoured to be a part of many. Fans were eagerly waiting to see the actor back on the big screen and he finally said yes to Siddharth Anand’s project, Pathan. Touted to be an espionage-thriller, Pathan also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in lead roles. SRK is finally coming back after a gap of years and there’s one more piece of news that has been doing the rounds. Well, if reports are to be believed, SRK is now the highest-paid actor in India. As per a report in Spotboye, the Badshah of Bollywood is charging a whopping Rs 100 crore for Pathan. With this, Shah Rukh Khan has left behind Bollywood stars such as Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan who were on top of the list so far. Pathan went on the floors in November last year. When the first look of SRK shooting for the movie was leaked, people couldn’t help but be in awe of the actor. SRK was seen sporting long hair with a braid on the side, and an overall rugged look. In fact, the look reminded people of his character from Don. View this post on Instagram Addressing the break he took from work, Shah Rukh had earlier said, “I have no film with me right now. I am not working on any film. Usually what happens is when one of your films is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and I get involved within 3-4 months. But this time I am just not feeling like...My heart doesn’t allow me to. I just felt that I should rather take time out, watch films, listen to stories, and read more books. Even my kids are in their college stage...my daughter is going to college and my son is about to finish his studies. So I just want to spend more time with my family.” Are you excited to see Shah Rukh back in action? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article

Ramayan was a big break for Arun Govil but he was already established in the industry with his debut film Paheli which was released in 1977. The film was produced by the house of Barjatyas of Rajshri Productions. After Ramayan, Arun Govil continued to work in the television industry and was also part of other shows like Luv Kush. He also played Harishchandra in the TV series Vishwamitra and Buddha in a serial of the same name. Ever since the news of Arun Govil joining the BJP came out, people started flooding Twitter with comments. Both hilarious and serious ones, particularly about the timing of this rather interesting development. View the full article
