  1. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, who is known for his on-screen versatility and stellar performances, is all set to enthrall the audience with his power-packed act in his upcoming web series, Tandav. He is someone who always chooses to speak on the political matter of the country, especially when most of the industry chooses to be a mute spectator. कल shoot से मौक़ा मिला। #SinghuBorder का चक्कर लगा लिया गया। ये अपने आप में अनुभव है!!! #isupportfarmersprotest #IStandWithFarmers 🏽🏽🏽 pic.twitter.com/52usEwymOT — Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub (@Mdzeeshanayyub) December 12, 2020 Now, he is a part of a political web show, Tandav, wherein he will be seen playing the role of a revolutionary who's not okay with the system. In real life too, Ayyub voices his opinions without any fear. Not every actor wants to speak about the political scenario and it's noticed that actors steer clear away from politics. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ayyub was asked the reason behind actors staying mum on many issues. To which he responded, "I would say that there is a fear among the makers as there's a lot of money involved in the movies so if there's any backlash on our statements, it might create a problem. I do understand that aspect but I don't agree with it as I am always active on social media. This is a misconception that an artist should only focus on just art. This is a rigid mindset and I would want to say that art is no different as it's inspired from the realities around us and it's difficult for an artist to completely cut off from the society around him." Why actors are told not to take interest in politics? @Mdzeeshanayyub answers...#TalkingFilms #BollywoodHungama YT: https://t.co/7S3LophNpF pic.twitter.com/VK16LEpd1D — BollyHungama (@Bollyhungama) January 12, 2021 He went on to add that the youth needs to speak up if they want a change and he further stated that it's the ignorance that we have when it comes to politics that has resulted in these many problems. "I would want to quote Bertolt Brecht as he said that the worst illiterate is a political illiterate because that imbecile doesn't understand that the corrupt politicians, rising pricing of cereals, and all other problems are happening because of the lack of their interest in politics. They start taking pride in their ignorance and that's what breaks a nation. When you talk about India, students need to have an interest in politics as they are free of other burdens. These students need to raise their voices for the future they want," added the actor. "Bertolt Brecht kehte the ke, the worst illiterate is a political illiterate, because that imbecile doesn't understand that...": @Mdzeeshanayyub #TalkingFilms #BollywoodHungama YT: https://t.co/7S3LophNpF pic.twitter.com/OaG6SMY1yR — BollyHungama (@Bollyhungama) January 12, 2021 Do you agree with his opinions? 2. Manoj Bajpai is an extraordinary actor and he proved the same in his last film Bhonsle. He has always been an extraordinary star and in his recent interview, he expressed how Sushant Singh Rajput’s death rattled the entire film industry and how it is unfair to paint the whole industry with the same brush. View this post on Instagram In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, he said, “Sushant’s death rattled all of us. I don’t know anyone who was not shaken by his sudden going. And what transpired after Sushant’s death became a correctional process for the industry. But some months later the debate was subverted. Vested interests came in and the whole thing became very ugly. To paint the whole film industry with the same brush was so unfair and so demeaning. People with their agendas made the whole debate so ugly. That’s when I moved away from the debate. But one thing is there. The ugliness will be forgotten.” View this post on Instagram On how the toxicity of social media grows on people, he said, “It will continue. People are empowered with access to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. They always had an opinion but didn’t know how and where to vent it. Now, they have a platform. They can abuse, insult or compliment. It’s their choice. We just have to live with it. I hardly use social media. I go to it when I have a film to promote and then I disappear. I won’t give 14-15 hours to it. I’ve work and family. That’s my life. Not social media. Being left out is the feeling that gets us sucked into it? We’ve to overcome it.” However, Manoj Bajpai has been shooting back to back for his upcoming projects and we will see a lot of him in the year 2021. View the full article

  5. Some Bollywood movies are overtly dreamy and extremely unreal, but then there are some films that showcase extreme reality and how love happens in the real world. The concept of love stories have evolved over the years in Bollywood and now it’s more than two people falling in love and then living happily ever after. In the real world, people don’t always run behind money and some people give up everything to just be together. So, here are five films that prove love is beyond money- Saathiya This love story is about Aditya and Suhani who fall in love with each other. But in the movie, Aditya belongs to a rich family, and Suhani on the other hand belongs to a middle-class family. However, the family has some rifts but this didn’t stop them from loving each other. Kedarnath This film is not a regular rich girl falls in love with a poor boy story. The film of the story revolves around a Muslim porter and Hindu Brahmin girl who gradually fall in love with each other and grow closer but face many obstacles. Kaho Na Pyaar Hai Hrithik Roshan and Ameesha Patel debuted with this film and stunned us all with their extraordinary performances. 7. Love her or hate her, but you can never ignore Rakhi Sawant. Controversy’s favourite child, Rakhi has never shied away from speaking her mind upfront, which in a way also cost her so much over the years - reputation wise. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that many of us have often wondered why she is the way she is! Only a handful understand the psychology behind her volatile behaviour, and Ritesh, her husband, is definitely one of them. Recently, during an exclusive interview with SpotboyE, her mysterious husband Ritesh talked in length about the trials and tribulations his wife has been through over the years. Defending her controversial life choices, Ritesh shared how Rakhi does it all to help and support her family. He said, "I have seen people making fun of Rakhi's English but I want to tell them, we were blessed that our parents could afford to send us to schools. But she didn't have that facility; her parents could only afford one person's education and they chose to send her brother to school. Still she tries to speak in English on national television and I feel that is amazing. She not only entered the industry without any education or without having a godfather but she proved herself too. I feel my wife is a role model for many girls." He added, "There would be no girl like Rakhi in this whole world. Hum Ishwar ko maante hai, vo Ishwar ke vachno pe chalti hai. Till today she is not just taking care of her mother and family but also supports her brother and sister's families financially. Because her father had taken a promise from her that she will have to bear the entire family like a son. And she is doing that completely." Meanwhile, shedding light on Rakhi’s whole fiasco with Deepak Kalal that once made headlines, Ritesh said, "Rakhi had a very bad phase and was going through a financial crunch. She had no work in hand and that's why she did that spoof with Deepak Kalal. People may have misconceptions about her because of her language and behaviour but let me tell you, she is clean from heart. Jo uske man mein aata hai vo bol deti hai. It takes courage to speak what you feel but she always does that. People like us become pretentious and think of our image before speaking but she doesn't do that. She herself admits that paiso ki kami ki wajah se vo khana churakar laati thi. Hum log admit karenge? No celebrity will ever accept this.” Irrespective of what image Rakhi has among the masses, we totally adore her for her honesty. Also, interestingly, Ritesh spoke about why he insisted on keeping his identity a secret. In an interview with TOI, he said, “I kept my identity under wraps because of my selfish motive. I think it is totally my fault and mistake and my selfish nature that I kept my identity under wraps. I always had this fear that after revealing my relationship and identity in front of everyone because of bad humour, my shares can get affected.” He added, “This was my selfish nature. But through this interview I want to tell everyone that she has done a favour on me by coming into my life and marrying me. I or my family can never repay that thing. She has been really a true wife and companion. She understands everything about me and it was my request to keep the marriage under wraps and she has supported me in all possible ways.” Rakhi is currently one of the most entertaining contestants inside the Bigg Boss 14 house. 8. Ever since showcasing his talent during the 2018 U-19 World Cup, Shubman Gill has gone from strength to strength to emerge as one of the finest young talents in the country. The right-hander has already impressed pundits and fans on the back of his mesmerising performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL). And, his brief stint with Team India is also picking pace. The right-handed batsman was one of the key performers for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the recently-concluded IPL season. Batting at the top, Gill scored 440 runs, including three fifties, in 14 matches. It was his consistency with the willow that earned him a spot in India's Test squad for the tour of Australia. © Twitter/@BCCI The Indian team doesn't really have a shortage of openers, despite the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. The likes of KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Mayank Agarwal and, now, Gill are all capable enough to carry the responsibility of opening the innings. In recent times, India have favoured Shaw to open alongside Mayank. But, the young Mumbai batsman seems a bit rusty at the moment. If his batting exploits weren't enough, Gill's case to open the innings has been further bolstered by the dismal performances of Shaw. The right-hander had a terrible outing in IPL 2020 before mediocre performances in the practice games. He was dismissed for a duck in the first practice game, his fourth in his last seven Test innings. In the warm-up tie against Australia A, Shaw failed to convert his start into a big score as he got dismissed for 40 in the first innings. His impatience and inability to avoid risky and aerial shots further spelt his doom in the second innings as the Indian opener was sent back to the pavilion with just 3 runs against his name. 9. Actor Arshad Warsi, who is all set for a never-seen-before avatar in an upcoming web horror thriller film Durgamati, recently opened up about his decision to play a corrupt politician in the film instead of a comic role, his first-time association with Akshay Kumar, working with Bhumi Pednekar and more. © Instagram There is no denying the fact that Arshad is one of the most versatile actors of the Bollywood industry. As much as he fits into a comical role with such ease, he does fit in one that demands utter seriousness and poise as well. Almost all of his co-actors will testify to the fact that as brilliant and charismatic as he is, Arshad remains to be one of the most underrated and underutilized actors. Recently in an exclusive interview with ETimes, Arshad emphasised on the fact that he is an “under-utilised” actor. © Vinod Chopra Productions On being reminded about how Naseeruddin Shah and Vidya Balan have spoken about his acting skills in their interviews, and once Vidya Balan even said, “He reminds me of the great European actors who can fit into any role. But he is completely under-utilised”, Arshad said, “Vidya Balan is absolutely right, I am a completely under-utilised actor, that's the truth. But I can't blame anybody. I have to blame myself for that because I don't really do too much work.” He added, “I do the work and work with people that I enjoy being with. For me, that is more important and I like spending time with my family. So that is the problem. I work at my pace and take a long break and I say 'no' a lot. But I wish people take advantage of me and use me a little more.” We totally agree with that. For the uninitiated, the Munnabhai MBBS actor started out in Bollywood as a background dancer in the late 1980s, when he was in his early 20s. © YouTube/Eros At the age of 21, he stood 4th in the 1992 World Dance Championship in London. Using the prize money, he started his own dance academy in Mumbai. His students were often picked up by major filmmakers. Arshad has been credited for choreographing a number of dance sequences in Bollywood. It was finally in 1996 that he got his first break as an actor in a film called Tere Mere Sapne, thanks to Jaya Bachchan. © Fox Star Studios However, even though he has been acting since 1996, and has been a part of the industry since 1986, he had a lot of difficulty in establishing himself as a proper actor. Yet that didn’t deter him from taking up challenging projects. Later, it was only in 2013 that he bagged Jolly LLB - his first film where he played the lead role. We wish to see more of such talented actors like Arshad Warsi on the silver screen. What are your thoughts on this? Tell us in the space below. View the full article
  10. Almost sixteen years ago, a 23-year-old MS Dhoni, on the back of eye-catching performances in domestic cricket, made his international debut donning the national colours for the very first time during an encounter with Bangladesh. But his Team India debut was a forgettable one as he got dismissed for a golden duck. But, scoring a mere 22 runs in his four matches for Team India wasn't the only problem for Dhoni. It was his unorthodox approach both in batting and wicket-keeping that got the purists wondering if he really belonged at the international stage. But, unperturbed by criticism, Dhoni stuck to his instincts and eventually broke the stereotypes of the gentleman's game. One major rule related to wicket-keeping or fielding, in general, is inertia. With the ball travelling to the fielder's hands at a rapid pace, a cricketer is expected to catch the ball and let it slide with the momentum for some time before resisting the motion. The idea is to absorb the momentum of the ball slowly in a bid to avoid chances of it popping out of their hands. While most wicket-keepers follow this tactic, Dhoni followed a completely different ideology. He believed in attacking the ball and throwing his hands at the stumps as quickly as possible. When he faced spinners, Dhoni moved his hand towards the ball and - without moving his hand back for even a second - guided it to the stumps. So what did he achieve by doing that? As noted in one of his stumpings, a reaction time of staggering 0.08 seconds - a world record that still stands tall. Today, at the age of 39, Dhoni might have called time on his international career, but his legend continues to live on as witnessed during India's six-wicket win against Australia in the 2nd T20I at Sydney on December 6. It was the 9th over of India's run-chase when Shikhar Dhawan momentarily lifted his foot in the crease as Matthew Wade whipped the bails off in a flash before going up in an animated appeal. "Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni!" Live #AUSvIND: https://t.co/L1KY15FYnb pic.twitter.com/IOC7NH2xgb — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 6, 2020 Australian leggie Mitchell Swepson had bowled a wide wrong-un which was missed by Dhawan as he went for a cut shot. Skipper Wade thought he had perhaps caught the Indian opener unaware but the replays suggested that Dhawan had planted his raised foot just in time to avoid a stumping opportunity. As soon as the decision was flashed on the big screen, Wade was caught on the stump-mic saying, "Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni", to Dhawan who responded with a smile saying, "No". Wade has an experience from watching this in Non-strikers end. pic.twitter.com/ed2Z4v5tpf — Cricket VIDEOPEDIA (@CricVideoPedia) December 6, 2020 Well, we can't really blame Wade for bringing the Dhoni comparison especially when he had watched the former Indian captain pulling off something in a similar situation from the non-striker's end. While Wade's comments surely left the commentators and, later, fans on social media in splits, he had another moment to forget earlier in the game. During the 8th over of Australia's innings, Wade was looking dangerous before he hoicked Washington Sundar's length delivery towards cover where Virat Kohli made a mockery of a sitter, spilling the catch on two attempts. But, such was Wade's luck that, rather than watching the Indian skipper drop a dolly, the Aussie captain conceded it to be his downfall and didn't bother to return to the crease. And, unlike Wade, Kohli had some match-awareness as he fired in a throw at the striker's end to help wicket-keeper KL Rahul catch the Australian short at the crease. What a calamity! #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/2NeeTB4ixT — cricket.com.au (@cricketcomau) December 6, 2020 The comical turn of events brought an end to Wade's blistering 58-run knock that was laced with 10 fours and a six. It was his blazing knock that played a key role in helping Australia pile up a mammoth total of 194 runs. However, to the home side's sheer displeasure, Dhawan (52) and Kohli (40) kept India's run-chase on track before a Hardik Pandya (22-ball 42) stole an emphatic win for India in the 2nd T20I and sealed their 2-0 series win with a game to spare. 11. Born in Lucknow, he thought of conquering cinema through his acting skills and he did manage to make his own space after a lot of hardships. He has seen a very turbulent graph in Bollywood but he is reaching new heights in Hollywood every day. In the process, he has learnt a lot about how Indian cinema functions and has always been vocal about his understanding of different movie cultures. View this post on InstagramMany cinephiles have always addressed Indian cinema as Bollywood and restricted its value. Ali has spoken the reality that many cinema lovers need to understand that Bollywood alone is not Indian cinema. He told Hindustan Times, “Indian cinema is not all Bollywood and that’s a barrier that’s been hard to break. I am so indebted to the incredible work of Irrfan Bhai, Om sa’ab, Saeed Jaffrey, Shashi Kapoor who have strived to secure better roles and created better opportunities for us. A lead part in roles has been possible for me because of their contribution and bravery.” We totally agree with Ali that people need to start seeing beyond Bollywood and start accepting the fact, we have more to offer when it comes to Indian cinema. We have, for years, ignored the relevance of regional cinema and independent filmmakers. View this post on Instagram As he is now a part of Hollywood, he understands that how artists such as Shashi Kapoor, Om Puri, and Irrfan have worked hard to create a platform for Indian actors overseas. On this, he added, “Choices don’t come to you on a platter no matter which industry you belong to. And when it’s an industry that’s not familiar with you, your body of work, and judging your abilities from their own set notions, it’s an even tougher feat. For decades, masterful filmmakers and actors have systematically worked towards depicting the real India on screen.” On the work front, he is awaiting the release of Death On The Nile and is looking forward to shooting for Code Name Johnny Walker. 13. The ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has undeniably proved to be a much-needed source of entertainment for cricket fans amid the global pandemic. But, as the thirteenth edition nears its exciting end, all eyes will be on India and Australia as the two cricketing powerhouses get ready to lock horns in what promises to be a pulsating tour. Over a course of two months, the Indian cricket team will be seen taking on the Australian brigade in their own backyard in four Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as many Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) already announcing the 32-man squad, both the teams will be eager to find chinks in their armours to get an upperhand. © Reuters Both the sides have their own set of match-winners who'll undeniably hold the key to their success. For India, it's needless to say Virat Kohli ranks high on that list and Australia will be eager to do whatever it takes to keep him quiet. While the Aussies can surely test Kohli on that teasing outside-the-off-stump line, an achilles heel for the Indian captain, engaging him in a war of words isn't really advisable. For someone who wears his heart up his sleeves as part of his own aggressive brand of cricket, Kohli, over the years, has shown just how effective and up-to-the-task he is when someone makes the mistake of sledging him. Take India's last tour of Australia, for instance. The Oz side tried to rile Kohli up by unwanted words and India went on to win their first-ever Test series Down Under. That's probably why Australia will need to be wary of sledging Kohli - something Steve Waugh has warned his fellow countrymen about. © Reuters Though the proceedings will kickstart via the 1st ODI on 27th November, the biggest test for India will surely be the Test series slated to begin from 17th December with a day-night game. In a bid to right their wrongs from India's 2016-17 tour, Justin Langer, like Waugh, would have made it pretty clear to his players not to engage Kohli in a verbal duel. Waugh echoed similar sentiments while conversing with ESPNcricinfo, "Sledging is not going to worry Virat Kohli, it doesn't work against the great players and you're better off leaving those guys alone. I think any extra motivation will make them dig in more and get more runs. So, you're better off not saying much to him". © Reuters The decorated Australian legend also spoke about the exciting contest between Kohli and Steve Smith in the upcoming tour. Smith wasn't part of the Australian side when India toured last owing to his ban in the infamous ball-tampering case. "He (Kohli) is a world class player, he would want to be the batsman of the series. Last time, he and Smith came up against each other in India, Smith really dominated with three hundreds and Kohli didn't get many," Waugh said. Lauding praise on Kohli for his maturity over the years, Waugh also claimed that India will be gunning for glory, especially in the Test series in a bid to justify their no. 1 tag. "He wants India to prove themselves away from home to justify the number one ranking. He has taken them to a level that maybe they didn't get to before," he added. The promising duel between India and Australia will begin on 27th November in an exciting three-match ODI series. The ODI battle will be followed by another three-match series, this time in T20Is slated to begin from December 4. Last, but definitely not the least, the scintillating tour will see a befitting finale in the four-match Test series which will begin from December 17. View the full article
