They want to be able to attend all the customers, and as a result, the quality of work obviously suffers. No one is at fault here, because India just has that many people. An easy solution? Don't go to the salon during peak hours - for example, weekend afternoons and weekday mornings/evenings. As soon as you see a huge line of people waiting for their turn, please reschedule. With the Indian Premier League (IPL) less than a week away, passionate fans of the game and more specifically, the league, now have some serious shade thrown by former captain of the Indian cricket team at the current Indian skipper, to discuss and have quarrels over. In an analysis show ahead of the biggest cricketing league in the world initiates, Gautam Gambhir took a killshot at Virat Kohli's abilities as a captain for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). “I don't see him as a shoot captain or a tactful captain. And he hasn't won the IPL,” said the former Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain on the show. “Ultimately a captain is only as good as his record till.” Ever since the league came into existence in 2008, Virat Kohli has been a part of the RCB family. Signed under what was known as a 'Youth Contract' for a mere $30,000, Kohli slowly worked his way up the success ladder with the franchise, year by year. After being the only player to be retained by the team before the 2011 season began, Kohli was promoted to the role of vice-captain and even captained the squad on a couple of occasions when former Kiwi skipper Daniel Vettori went down with an injury. Following his success with the Indian cricket team, as he became one of the more recognised men of the game, for his exceptional batting, charged-up attitude and the knack to take challenges head on, Kohli was named the permanent captain of the RCB roster after Vettori bid adieu to the format. However, what Gambhir pointed out about Kohli's performance when it comes to IPL, has a lot of sense in it. There's no doubting the man's contribution towards Team India's ascension in international cricket. Under Kohli's captaincy, India has been great but the 30-year-old has failed to provide similar output for his Bangalore team. Gambhir also said: “There are people who have won the trophy three times - MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma. So I think he has a long way to go. You cannot compare him to someone like Rohit or Dhoni at this stage...” While players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma have had the privilege to host the IPL trophy in their cities for three seasons each and even Gambhir lifting the cup in 2012 and 2014, Kohli hasn't even had the opportunity to get a whiff of it. Getting eliminated in the league stages in most of the seasons, Kohli and the RCB gang has made it to the IPL Final thrice, only to be put down by Hyderabad Deccan Chargers, Chennai Super Kings and SunRisers Hyderabad in the years 2009, 2011 and 2016, respectively. According to Gambhir, Kohli should thank the decision-makers of the Royal Challengers franchise for continuing to have faith in him and letting him be the captain despite the below-average results simply because of the fact that not a lot of other players have enjoyed such trust and have been dethroned from captaincy for far less. Gautam Gambhir's final season with the Delhi Daredevils comes to mind keeping things in similar context when after a bad start to the season, his duty as the leader of the team was taken away by the team-owners and given to a rookie like Shreyas Iyer. 'Doom: Annihilation' Movie Trailer Is So Bad That The Game Developers Have Disowned It

The original 'Doom' movie that came out in 2005 failed to put up a good show. Both 'Doom' fans and the critics hated it despite having a good cast like Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, The Rock, and more. Since the original movie turned out to be a hot mess, we're now being hit with a new one called 'Doom: Annihilation', which is slated to arrive this fall. © YouTube 'Doom: Annihilation', as we know it, is a direct-to-video adaptation of the Doom video game franchise. It's being produced by Universal 1440 Entertainment, a division of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Well, the first trailer of the movie just hit the internet yesterday, and it looks like the original developers of the game aren't really impressed. Here's the trailer if you haven't watched it yet - In all fairness, it's too early to judge a movie prematurely with just a trailer, but it doesn't seem to invoke any excitement whatsoever. In fact, when someone asked the developers of the original game 'id Software' about the trailer, they quickly disowned. Huawei Built A Folding Phone Similar To The Galaxy Fold But Killed It As The Design Was Bad

Samsung and Huawei have both announced their iterations of a folding smartphone but differ from each other in design — from the ground up. The two companies showed off the foldable smartphones a few days apart from each other, however, Huawei's CEO of mobile business just took a dig at Samsung. Talking to Business Insider, Richard Yu said that Huawei had originally developed a folding smartphone similar to the Galaxy Fold. However, the Chinese company decided to kill the smartphone because the design was "not good.” “I feel having two screens, a front screen and a back screen makes the phone too heavy," Richard Yu said about the Galaxy Fold, speaking to Business Insider. Huawei's Mate X is fundamentally different from Samsung's offering as a foldable smartphone. It has a single flexible display that folds and unfolds to become a smartphone or a tablet. Samsung's Galaxy Fold has a dedicated screen on the front of the device and separate larger screen to turn it into a tablet. However, Huawei's Mate X is quite slimmer than the Galaxy Fold which makes a bit more practical as it can fit easily in a pocket. Having said that, some also believe that Mate X is more susceptible to scratches as it is more delicate when compared to the Galaxy Fold. Both the folding smartphones cost a lot of money as the Mate X costs a staggering €2,299 ($2,600) while the Galaxy Fold costs €2,000 ($1,980). As of now, both smartphones only appeal to early adopters who are willing to spend money on the latest piece of tech. -

In an avalanche of political biopics this year, there is a new surprise entry which no one knew about. After 'The Accidenal Prime Minister' and 'Thackeray' creating a major buzz in the nation, the trailer for a biopic on Rahul Gandhi dropped today, completely unannounced. Before we even begin to dissect it, let's just have a look at it first. The trailer follows a young Rahul swimming while his grandmother Indira Gandhi looks upon him dotingly. It is established that he shares a very warm relationship with his grandmom and his father and the death of the PM affects him more than others. Yes, this is exactly what happened when GoT's Jon Snow aka Kit Harington revealed the ending to his wife Rose Leslie and what happened after, was well, quite unfortunate! (c)Twitter During a radio talk show Kit Harington revealed that Rose Leslie asked him how the series ended. Being the good and honest husband that he is, he told her the ending. But right after, Leslie certainly didn't fancy the ending much and things went sore between them when she didn't talk to Harington for 3 days! "I told my wife last year how it ended, and she wouldn't talk to me for about three days. And she'd asked!" said Kit. Either that or the ending was absolutely unexpected and she realised she shouldn't have asked Kit for it, regardless. We're just really hoping hard though that Kit is still alive at the end of season 8 and that's not the reason Rose was upset in the first place. Rose Leslie is definitely still very much attached to the show, as she played a wildling called Ygritte, who also happened to be Jon Snow's love interest. It's understandable why she would be upset with Kit and not speak to him for three days. Not a favourable ending, assumably? My father being a semi-professional football player, fitness came pretty naturally to me. Right from my early teens, my father had me on my feet and taught me exercising. Every morning I used to accompany him and his fellow players to the practice sessions. It was here where I learned the basics of stretching, running and basic exercising. Soon after, I was sent off to a boarding school where sports were kept at the helm of all things. Of course, what my father taught me helped me a great deal to shine bright at school athletics. First Encounter With The Weights It was during my first year at college, that I got a chance to work out in proper gym. It was 2007, the very first year of my lifting journey. It all started there. As it happens, even I had no idea about nutrition and training. Nope, none! I used to follow suit that was set by the desi trainers at the gym. Doing bro splits six times a week and eating whatever came in sight became the norm for me. Some desi-trainers even sold me mass gainers, having me dream of a poster boy physique. Since I was very, or let's say skinny, I bought into the fake dream. Even when I was short on pocket money, I hustled my way through buying mass gainers. Soon after, in the following months, I started looking skinny fat. I did get a bit bigger but most of it was nothing but fat. My dream seemed fragile at this moment. I had no money to afford a personal trainer and thought that it was VERY expensive to afford one. I was left heartbroken. The Time When I Ate Boiled Chicken Like An Idiot! A few years ahead, I met this guy at the gym. He seemed sensible. I asked for his nutrition advice and he asked me to eat half a kilo boiled chicken and 10 egg whites to achieve a ripped body. Since they looked good, I started following their dumb advice. The diet was SO bad that I gave up just a few days into it. Digestion and acne issue started just about immediately. I then met a guy who was a professional bodybuilder. Right off the bat, he asked me to get on steroids, which of course I was completely unaware about. I was so blinded by the dream of a good physique, that I almost made up my mind to start a steroid cycle. Thank god that I was so short on funds at that time, that I had no option but to not do it. Education Days passed but the passion in me didn't die. I started reading about natural bodybuilding on the internet. Alongside, I started making friends with sensible and 'fitness-educated' guy on too. It was from here on where I started learning about the importance of nutrition and training. Self taught, I applied the learning and they did work, but at as much as I wanted. This didn't discourage me. I didn't look back kept reading EVERYTHING that was readily available. Intermittent Fasting is the crazy hype train that everyone in the fitness industry wants to jump aboard. People believe it to have a few magical effects. These magical effects are mainly associated with fat loss. People assume that if you do not eat for a few hours in a day, your body becomes a fat burning 'furnace' and make you leaner than a shredded bodybuilder in a couple of weeks. © Thinkstock Well, the actual thing that Intermittent Fasting helps with is adherence to a caloric deficit. Some people just find it easier to eat less food if they only eat a couple of meals in a day. It is all about that single aspect. I have written a piece on Intermittent Fasting in the past as well. The other side of the story is that people have started doing Intermittent Fasting for muscle gain. They think that: 1. Fasting will increase their growth hormone and make them bigger. 2. They will not put on body fat as they are fasting. Guess what? You are TERRIBLY wrong. Let's understand what you really need to do to build muscle: 1. Resistance training 2. Progressive overload 3. A calorie surplus with adequate protein 4. Rest and recovery Now let's understand how Intermittent Fasting can wreck all of this: 1. Resistance Training A lot of people have this misconception that if you do not eat and work out, it will elevate anabolic hormones and help them build muscle and lose fat at the same time. Well, these anabolic hormonal adaptations that happen when training are similar to those you'd have if you trained after a meal. Another thing to know is that even if these hormones are elevated, they are going to be in physiological ranges. You will not become jacked like a bodybuilder on steroids. If fasting made you muscular like an enhanced bodybuilder, why would people even buy steroids, especially considering the side effects of it? 2. Progressive Overload © Tnation You may get a few training sessions easily in a fasted state, yes. Will you be able to progress long-term with it? I don't think so. You may go to the gym and slog your ass like a laborer. You won't progress going forward as you are hungry and depleted of energy. Having a meal before your workout, especially carbs, will provide you fuel to lift more and longer. 3. A Calorie Surplus With Adequate Protein To gain weight and in turn muscle, you need to eat more calories in a day than you burn off. Yeah, the area people go wrong is they stuff their face with as much food as they like and get fat. That is a fallacy of their plan, not the idea of eating more calories. If you fast, it will be simply difficult for you to consume enough calories in a day. Apart from that, there are studies that show you need to eat protein at equal intervals to keep elevated muscle protein synthesis through the day. There is even a study that shows that even eating the same amount of protein, the group that broke it down in more frequent intervals (4-5 meals) gained more muscle compared to those who ate it in lesser meals (1-2 meals). 4. Rest And Recovery This mainly comes down to your sleep and stress levels. An additional aspect of it is the food intake. There is a reason that on a cut or a fat loss, your recovery is poor. That is because you are not eating enough calories for the same. If you fast and it reduces your calorie intake, you will not recover and might even start losing progress or dropping strength in the gym. I call Delhi my home. And why shouldn't I? I've lived here for over 30 years and went through all of its phases it had to offer. As a child, I developed chronic bronchitis while staying in the city and it made me uncomfortable from time to time. It was nothing major to worry about because it was latent and it hardly ever occurred again in my growing-up years. But as the years progressed with my time in Delhi, the latency of my health issue started brimming to the surface. It wasn't because my lungs were not functioning well. it was because the air quality in Delhi subsequently dipped. (c)Twitter The last five years have been a literal living nightmare in Delhi with the bad air quality that surrounds us and let's face it, we've done nothing productive to counter or tackle this grave issue. Instead, we've been counter-productive towards this very problem and enhanced it in a way that we can't seemingly make it better instantly. But I wouldn't blame the commoners as much as I'd blame the government and together, we've managed to make Delhi the most polluted city in the world. Yes. Let that information sink in, slowly. Imagine, living in a smoke bubble constantly, trying to find your way out. Well, let me tell you, there is none, and the only probable solution that'll ever come out of this is if we dearly depart this highly toxic city. (c)Times Of India Recently, I caught the flu pretty bad due to severe weather change and it developed into a bad chest congestion bringing my bronchitis back. I went to the doctor immediately because I was literally choking and when I got there, I had to wait for 1.5 hours to see her. Why? Because everyone around me was really sick. When I finally got my time with her she told me I was the 106th patient to come see her for the same reason. The symptoms appearing after breathing in the toxic air are- wet cough, wheezing, chest congestion, eye burns and swollen glands and other lung-related ailments and the doctor had a fair share of patients dealing with the same that day. The worst bit- she said, was that 60 cases out of the 106 cases she'd seen that day were babies and children. But Diwali left us with little or no mercy and the air quality worsened instantly, right after Diwali. The air quality oscillated between 'poor' and 'very poor' because people defied the Supreme Court's orders to not burst hazardous crackers in the first place. The air quality recorded with an overall index rising to 574, which falls in the 'severe-plus emergency' category according to data by the centre run-SAFAR. As I stood on the curb for my ride to work this morning, I could see the man sitting inside his Fortuner on the other side of the road, haggling with a street vendor selling flowers. I wasn't privy to their conversation (disagreements rather) of course, but whatever transpired between the two left the florist visibly upset, as he shouted after the SUV, fast disappearing into the oncoming flow of the Monday morning traffic. The man got his flowers, but something about the exchange had left the vendor with a sullen face. I want to believe it was to do with the money, I might be wrong to make that assumption, but on the other hand, I might be more than right too. © Dharma Productions The incident left a bad taste in my mouth, and it got me thinking, “well, SUV dude, whatever that was, you're gonna have to pay for it elsewhere...you see, karma is a bitch”, but even as I said that to myself, I wasn't quite convinced by it. You see, the man in the swanky SUV still got his flowers, and he'll put them to use for whatever purpose he bought them. By the end of it he'll be a happy man, but the poor vendor will have to make do with his share of money and (bad)luck for the day, and that seemed pretty unfair, presuming that the guy in the SUV could have easily spared a few more bucks to strike a fair deal. Basically, what I am trying to say is that, I wasn't convinced (or ready) to wait for karma to take its own sweet time and bring the rich guy to justice. After all, we're a generation constantly petitioning for all things “instant”, so justice must also be meted out instantly in this case, right? Wrong. I had just witnessed the universe prove me wrong. So, moral of the story, good things will still happen to bad people, and more often than not, karma will terribly fail to don the bitch face, when you most passionately want to see it unfurl. © Dharma Productions Did I just hear some protesting squirms coming from you? But hold your horses for a bit, I have a point to make here. Have you heard of the maxim, “justice delayed is justice denied”? Well, I happen to come from that school of thought. Which means, I want to see justice get served ASAP. But this is India, the land of Gods, and it's also the land of the rich and the powerful. Most of all, it's a land ruled by the ever mighty patriarchy, which has a definite soft spot for the rich and powerful. You know where that leads us, right? Take the ongoing Tanushree Dutta-Nana Patekar row that's got all the gossip mills across the country churning out updates day in and day out. That's one of the most recent examples to lead you to my point. While it's not proven whether Patekar is guilty or not, it cannot be denied that the reported incident obviously didn't cost him anything over the years, whereas Tanushree had to abandon her dreams and career, under the alleged threats and harassment being meted out to her by Patekar and his “powerful” friends. © Dharma Productions The same trope can be found in Salman Khan's (in)famous hit-and-run case, and we're all well aware of where the case led, and the outcome it bore for the actor. Nothing happened to him, obviously, his popularity, power or career! Be it Salman's charitable venture with 'Being Human' or Patekar's goodwill towards the farmers of Maharashtra, they seem to be able to hide their misdeeds well behind these moves. No, I am not disregarding the good they may have done for the needy, but I am saying that this sure does the job of covering up the mess they leave in their wake. For most people, it becomes enough to forgive and forget these men's bad deeds. And this is the point their fans and defendants step in yapping about the “good” they have been doing for the people. For some strange (read stupid) reason, their outwardly “good deeds” seem to be enough for the lesser endowed people to believe in their “goodness”. © Dharma Productions You may be interested to know that there's an entire research done on the psychology behind this move, and how people feel that by investing in good deeds, one is actually investing in good karma. So, basically, whether I am looking at the guy in the SUV or Salman, or more recently Patekar and his antics, it seems more believable that even though karma is a bitch, good things will continue to happen to bad people, because apparently in the 21st century, you can't even trust karma to get its act right. -

Well, the advantages are pretty obvious and when you learn of them, it is that magic solution you would love to be on. But That Is The Good Part. What About The Bad, And Even The Ugly? Acne Taking PEDs, especially testosterone, has almost everyone using it develop acne on their shoulders, chest, and back. This is because the hormones interfere with the pores of the skin. In certain cases, severe acne is also observed leaving permanent scars or marks in those affected areas. 2. Balding As some steroids increase testosterone, it leaves men more prone to a receding hairline or balding. Not everyone who takes steroids will experience balding but those who are already losing their hair or have a thin hairline will almost all the time go fully bald on the usage of anabolic steroids. 3. While most decent human beings would try to recuperate from the shock and let it go, I decided to turn my pain into a means of mass torture to put things in sync with the 'Morose Monday' #feels. In the last few years, numerous 'viral' songs hit our screens and made us pull at our hair in the sheer hope that anything besides this, would be a better source of agony. So I decided to pick the 7 most terrible (read dardnaak) viral songs in the recent years that made our ears bleed. 1. Dhinchak Pooja 'Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj' & 'Dilon Ka Shooter Hai Mera Scooter' With 36,118,838 and 12,160,485 views respectively, who would guess these are a sham in the name of songs? When Dhinchak Pooja's 'Selfie Maine Le Li Aaj' came out, it was so widely circulated across social media platforms that you couldn't have escaped it even if you tried. The pain was for real and lasted for weeks to come even after you went ahead on a social media detox. 2. Pikotaro - 'PPAP' (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen) While the obscure lyrics of this one apparently made the song “catchy” for some and even evoked laughter at first, I wouldn't say I could tolerate it for a second time, even as it was picking up the pace in India. My Instagram and Facebook feed was literally blowing up with this guy's face and his strange song talking about a non-existent fruity pen that nobody really gave a shit about. Also, what was with that outfit?! 3. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan - 'Love Charger' God must have his ways of bringing people to justice because after putting people through this torture, it is only a miracle the victims have survived to tell their stories. I wonder who wrote such horrid lyrics and then added such ear-puncturing music to produce such a ghastly composition that will trouble generations to come, who have access to this god-awful piece. 4. Om Prakash - 'Bol Na Aunty Aau Kya' It is with a heavy heart that I am including this song to the story, because neither the song nor the lyrics possess anything of value to go viral. The lyrics are sexist, demeaning and introduce rape as the normal outcome of wearing short clothes or hanging out with friends. The very fact that people found such a derogatory song entertaining and funny is appalling, to say the least. 5. Vennu Mallesh - 'It's My Life Whatever I Wanna Do' Another masterpiece that shattered the little semblance of tolerance we had for upcoming talents. Who decides to fund such songs and even rent out an entire studio for such a joke of a music video? And to top it all, this went viral because, of course, we had never heard anything of the sort before. 6. Rinku Bhabhi - 'Mere Husband Mujhe Pyaar Nahi Karte' I wouldn't lie but I had a fit of laughter the first time I heard this song. I know I said the first time because I am guilty of having heard it two more times when my sister and best friend decided to make me relive the moments of “ecstasy” during two different occasions. I really cannot say I can make much sense out of this. 7. Taher Shah - 'Eye To Eye' & 'Angel' I really have no words for these two jewels right here, but if you have heard these songs, know that your life wasn't the same after. Lee was hitting the iron from the tender age of 12 years. Born to a mother who was a bodybuilder herself, it was not a miracle that a young hardworking 13-year-old Lee won his first bodybuilding competition. It didn't just stop there; he later won the 1989 and 1990 IFBB Australian Championships. By the time he was 17, he was already participating in the World Championships. He was not given a Pro Card even after winning the Mr. Australia title because of his young age. But determined Lee went to showcase his muscles in the Niagara Falls Championships which he won.
