  1. The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd wired in-ear earphones showed up for review at a time when the 3.5mm headphone jack is becoming obsolete. Seriously, I didn't think I'd be reviewing wired in-ear earphones in 2019. But you know what? It's earphones like these that make me want to use smartphones and other audio equipment that have an audio jack. Trust me, I've been using the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd earphones for the last couple of weeks to listen to all my music, both when I am just chilling at home and on the go, and I've been loving it. Let me tell you all about it - Design & Build Quality In terms of the looks, these look like very basic. You see, Beyerdynamic has been making audio equipment for a long time now. Their products are best known for audio quality, not much for the design aesthetics. It's one of those brands that focus on performance over looks. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer So when you look at the Beat Byrd and give it a listen, you'll quickly realize that the company's objective was to make a piece of hardware that's more functional. The earpiece housing is made out of plastic and you get silicon ear tips. There are no fancy rugged braided cables to be seen here and all you get is a cable made out of rubber. These also happen to be one of the most affordable products from the company, which explains why it doesn't look all that fancy. They're certainly not going to grab any attention like, say, the AirPods do, but the audiophiles around you will definitely appreciate your choice. Also, they're supremely comfortable. I literally had them on for multiple hours the other day without experiencing fatigue. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer And since we're talking about the build quality, I think it's a good time to point out that these earphones lack a remote or mic. So yes, you won't be able to take calls or switch/ play/ pause music. It'll obviously come as a surprise for most people, but that shouldn't really bother you if you're picking these earphones strictly for listening to music. Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd Audio Quality Before I talk about the audio quality, I'd like to point out that it's extremely important to pick the right size of ear tips for a snug fit. That's how you'll be able to enjoy the music and get the most out of this pair of earphones. In fact, that holds true for all the earphones, because if they don't fit well enough, then you're not going to experience bass. The Beat Byrd comes with a couple of ear tips inside the box, so be sure you play around with the fit before jumping into music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer That's the first thing I did before listening to any music and boy was I surprised by the audio quality. Alright, I am not going to say that these are best sounding earphones or headphones that I've ever used. The 1More Quad Driver earphones and the Sennheiser HE 1 still take the cake for that, but the Beat Byrd is certainly one of the best wired in-ear earphones I've used in my recent memory. I started listening to my usual Spotify playlist to get an idea of how good they are. But as soon as I connected it to my Pixel 3a XL and popped them in, I was quite surprised by the audio quality. And that's when I started exploring more music, going back to my old playlist to find some classic funk and hip-hop music. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer The Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd is a pair of bass heavy earphones. If you're not into them, then these aren't for you. But one of the things that I really liked is that the bass had more depth than I had expected. The way they're tuned is extremely warm and friendly, and the bass is clearly given more supremacy. If you primarily listen to hip-hop music Tupac's 'Until the End of Time' Album. Or try listening to something like Fat Larry's 'Band - Act Like You Know', you'll love it. The Final Say You can pick up the Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd for just Rs. 2,199, which, as mentioned earlier, makes it the company's one of the most affordable products. At that price, it's really hard to criticize it. Yes, the design could have been a little better, but it's important to understand that it's not always about the design. If you like bass-heavy earphones, then you find it an absolute pleasure to use these earphones. The audio quality is simply addictive. Overall, I'll say that Beyerdynamic Beat Byrd's bass-heavy sound is something that you'll absolutely fall in love with. Even without any discounts, these are simply awesome for the price. So, just go ahead and pick one up.
  2. One of the most decorated and cherished footballers in the world, Lionel Messi has endured some tough times and painful memories in recent weeks. The five-time Ballon d'Or winner was left heartbroken after a painful second-leg defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the recently-concluded UEFA Champions League. The Barcelona talisman turned out to be the star of the day in the first-leg clash where he scored two goals, including a venomous free-kick, to hand the Spanish giants a 3-0 win. But, the second-leg fixture saw Barcelona bottling their 3-0 lead and succumbing to a 4-3 defeat (on aggregate) as the Jurgen Klopp side scripted one of the most memorable comebacks in the history of the competition. If their Champions League exit had fans up in arms, Barcelona's misery was further exploited by Valencia who shocked Ernesto Valverde's men with a 2-1 victory in the Copa del Rey final. On the other hand, Messi claimed an unwanted record of not winning a final after finding the back of the net. © Reuters Messi has previously made no secret of how painful the recent turn of events has been, but it appears that the 31-year-old gets little sympathy at home. In a recent interview, Messi revealed how his son Mateo (born in 2015) uses Liverpool's astounding comeback against Barcelona to taunt his father at home. “We played at home, and last time we kicked it about, he would tell me, 'I'm Liverpool, who beat you'. 'You are Barca, and I'm Liverpool'," Messi was quoted as saying by TyCSports. View this post on Instagram FELIZ DÍA MI VIDA !!!! ððð A post shared by Leo Messi (@leomessi) on May 5, 2019 at 8:03am PDT Ever since making his team debut with Barcelona in 2004, Messi has managed to carve his own niche on the back of consistent performances that allowed him to become one of the club legends. In 687 appearances for Barcelona, Messi has scored 603 goals and won a plethora of trophies including six Copa del Reys and four Champions League crowns. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Leo Messi (@leomessi) on Apr 8, 2019 at 12:37am PDT But, despite all his might and glory, Messi appears to be struggling to impress his son Mateo who is also known to cheer for Barcelona's arch-rivals Real Madrid. “He's watching TV and he screams goal for Real Madrid. He does it on purpose against his brother. Everyone watching Madrid, they score, Thiago gets angry, and Mateo goes 'goaaaal for Madrid!'," the Argentina captain revealed.
  3. Almost a week down, and yet the only thing that the tech community is talking about are the new releases by OnePlus - the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus7 Pro. While both the flagship smartphones stand as tall winners in the ultra premium segment, can we take a moment here to appreciate how the brand has set a mark in its own way, when it comes to mega launches and clever marketing strategies. Think about it - from creating curiosity and conversation on social media around the new launches to organising pop-ups around the world, this brand really knows how to make a loyal customer base for itself. This time around, the Chinese smartphone maker went all out with their global launch, and may we say what a stupendous success it really was. This was their biggest product launch that managed to create global hype that we haven't seen in the longest time. Here are 5 things from the launch you need to know about: 1. What A Turnout! Over 3,500 people attended the mega launch of the OnePlus 7 Series that happened on May 14 in Bengaluru. This was, by far, their biggest launch ever, and look what an awesome buzz they created! The OnePlus 7 Series launch took place in Bengaluru, on the 14th of May where we unveiled the new OnePlus lineup to an audience of over 3500 people. Our biggest launch ever. The main launch event of the OnePlus 7 series took place simultaneously in New York, London, and Bengaluru. And guess what? The event was live-streamed by almost four million OnePlus fans across the globe. Now that's an overwhelming response! 3. A Complete Flagship This is the first time the brand has launched two flagship smartphones (OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus7 Pro) at the same time. In fact, we feel the OnePlus7 Pro is the most complete flagship till date. The smartphone just checks all the boxes. From opting for the immersive 6.67-inch Fluid AMOLED display to including the pop-up selfie camera and setting the trend of fast charging with Warp Charge technology, OnePlus7 Pro has it all. Besides, did we mention that this killer flagship comes in three unique colours including Mirror Grey, Almond, and Nebula Blue? 4. Marketing Game On Point If there is anything we should learn from OnePlus is that they have one of the smartest marketing strategies in the tech industry. They know how to get back to the basics to market their product through word-of-mouth and social media buzz. They were the first-ones to enter the market with invite-only smartphones and currently they continue to maintain that hype through their Experience Pop-Ups. We're taking things to the next level with the OnePlus Experience Pop-up. Here, you can experience the OnePlus 7 Series, just the way we want you to. 4. In just a week after becoming the fastest film to gross more than $1 billion worldwide, Marvel's 'Avengers: Endgame' is well on its way to beat James Cameron's 'Avatar' and become the highest grossing film ever. That's right, 'Avengers: Endgame' has crossed the $2 billion mark in record time and has already beaten 'Titanic' to become the second highest-grossing film ever worldwide. We reckon 'Endgame' is likely to beat 'Avatar' because it's been adding millions of dollars every day. The blockbuster is racking up numbers at an unbelievable rate, really. 'Avatar' reached $2 billion in 47 days of release, whereas 'Avengers: Endgame' managed to pull it off in just 11 days. 'Endgame' has already beaten the likes of 'Titanic' and 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', both of which have been holding their spots for quite some time now. We think it's only a start of what should be an unprecedented box office run. © Marvel Even, say, if there's a considerable drop-off in the coming weeks due to the arrival of 'Detective Pikachu' and 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters', we're pretty optimistic that it'll hit the numbers over a period of time. Unlike 'Avatar', which was a one-of-a-kind 3D sci-fi epic known for it's CGI interacts. 'Avengers: Endgame' marks the end of a saga. It ends phase 3 of MCU, so the film will continue to be a massive draw for a number of weeks to come. Not to mention, the die-hard MCU fans will want to experience the three-hour long movie again, leading to repeat viewings. © Marvel And as the crowd continues to watch it, more casual audiences may check it out to see what the buzz is all about. Who'd want to miss a blockbuster after all? According to the recent numbers reflected on Wikipedia, 'Avengers: Endgame' has currently grossed $2,188,698,638 worldwide. It's shy of roughly $500 million to top 'Avatar'. Considering the fact that the movie managed to do so much in just 11 days, we're pretty excited to see how the movie does in the next few weeks.
  5. With the ICC World Cup 2019 just a month away, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team, Sarfraz Ahmed, was found making some rather bold statements during a press conference ahead of leaving for England. Considering themselves as the 'underdogs' of the tournament, Ahmed believes that the level of pressure they will be carrying on their shoulders starting their World Cup campaign against the Windies on 31st May 2019, will be manageable. "Look, when we go as favourites, then it's a problem, but if we go as underdogs then other teams feel the danger, so I think being underdogs is good for us and eases the pressure," he said. Eyebrows were raised only when Ahmed mentioned Virat Kohli's Team India in his comments. "For us all nine matches are important so we will take every match as a match against India," said the 31-year-old. "We have beaten India in a bigger event recently so we will have that advantage.” The skipper was referring to their victory in the Champions Trophy final in 2017, in which Ahmed and team dominated the Men in Blue, while winning the match by 180 runs. Pakistan have also won the 1992 World Cup and the 2009 World Twenty20. However, when it comes to the World Cup, India and Pakistan have clashed six times, none of which were won by the perennial rivals of India. As expected, as soon as the statement was made available online, the hardcore fans of the Indian cricket team trolled the wicket-keeper batsman hard and left nothing to the imagination: Meanwhile We INDIANS and INDIAN TEAM be like pic.twitter.com/Cir8KThb1D — Silly Strom (@SillyStrom) April 23, 2019 2017 isko recent lagta hai. — Rahul (Pray for Sri Lankað±ð° ) (@rk5444) April 23, 2019 Looks like he has forgotten the 2 embarrassing defeats against India in Asia cup recently ðð — Abhi Panchal (@iamabhi1909) April 23, 2019 India is 6 - 0 to Pakistan in the World cups, where does this lad live? — ðð ððð®ð¿ðð ðµð²ð¿ð² (@hathnostalgia) April 22, 2019 I don't give a damn what Safaraaz says — Raman Chakrabarty (@RamanChakrabar2) April 23, 2019 Ahmed and his boys will be participating in a three-game warm-up followed by a five-match ODI series and a solitary Twenty20 International with the Englishmen before the World Cup takes place in England and Wales. While Team India's World Cup 2019 journey will begin from 6th June 2019 when they go head to head with the South Africans in the Rose Bowl Cricket Ground in West End, Hampshire. India and Pakistan are scheduled to lock horns on 16th June 2019 and you DO NOT want to miss this one.

  7. In a recent drop test, the iPhone XS Max proved to be tougher than the Samsung' Galaxy S10+ and won by a considerable margin. Having said that, both phones were not as break-resistant as much we hoped them to do however the iPhone XS Max proved to be tougher. © YouTube Apple generally does not reveal what it uses at the exterior of the XS Max whereas Samsung uses Corning's new Gorilla Glass 6 at the front of the S10+. The test was carried out by YouTube channel PhoneBuff where a machine was used to let the two devices fall from a height of 1 meter. Both devices were dropped onto their corners, front and back. If any of the smartphones are still functional, they are then dropped from a height of 1.5 meters for about 10 more times. Results The back of both smartphones broke but the Galaxy S10+'s back showed more damage than the iPhone XS Max. It won the first round where the iPhone XS Max could withstand more damage. When it came to corners, both devices did not experience any damage and was called a tie. © YouTube When dropped on the front, the iPhone XS Max suffered damage only on one particular quadrant of the screen whereas the Galaxy S10+ didn't perform too well. The in-display fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S10+ also stopped working whereas the FaceID remained unaffected. The iPhone won this round as well. PhoneBuff gave the overall win to the iPhone, with a score of 36. The S10+ pulled in a 34. If you would like to see the video for yourself, take a look below:
  8. When it comes to budget smartphones and the Indian market, Xiaomi has managed to build a brand name that delivers smartphones with aggressive pricing. It's not only the pricing that matters, but smartphones also need to work and need to work well. Redmi, now a sub-brand of Xiaomi has managed to do just that, deliver great smartphones with an attractive price. However, Xiaomi steps up the game with the Redmi Note 7 Pro with upgraded specifications and a camera that can challenge even some of the top-tier smartphones. Xiaomi has also upgraded the design with captivating colours for users who prefer to be trendy and fashionable. It retails in India for Rs 13,990 and comes in different configurations. It has a 48-megapixel primary camera paired with a 5-megapixel sensor for portrait shots at the rear and a 13-megapixel sensor selfie shooter. We've been using the smartphone for a while to find out whether it's still the king of budget smartphones. Here's our review of the Redmi Note 7 Pro: Design And Display Xiaomi has completely overhauled the Redmi Note series with a beautiful gradient design that catches the light. It's something similar to what we've seen on other smartphones. However, the Redmi Note 7 Pro stands out from the crowd thanks to its bold colours. What's cool about the design is that the smartphone has an all-glass design both at the front and the back with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. This makes the smartphone a tad bit heavier than the previous iterations; however, we like the solid feel to the smartphone. We particularly like the Nebula Red colour which we got to see at the launch event. At the front, Xiaomi as a dewdrop notch display that removes the additional bezels you may have seen in previous models. The design of the smartphone feels very premium and very similar to what you would find on the iPhone XR. It feels solid and does not feel like a budget smartphone from any angle. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla Xiaomi also retains the headphone jack which is always a plus in our books and has now added Type-C support. We can finally transfer files faster and charge a Redmi smartphone quicker than ever before. In addition, the Redmi Note 7 Pro also has a p2i nano-coating which protects the smartphone from accidental spills. It's not water-resistant, but it will protect your smartphone from water spills in your bathroom. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla When it comes to the display, the Redmi Note 7 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ LTPS LCD display with a resolution 1080x2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. For a smartphone that costs less than Rs 15,000, the display is quite sharp and accurate for an LCD. Sure, it's not the best you find as compared to flagship level smartphones but it does a fair job at colour reproduction and brightness. The colours on the display do not look oversaturated and look close to real-life. The brightness is also solid as it comes in handy when viewing it directly under sunlight. It has a brightness level of 477 nits which is quite impressive for an LCD panel. Camera © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla The Redmi Note 7 Pro's star attraction is its 48 MP rear Sony IMX 586 sensor that delivers some of the most amazing pictures we've seen on a budget smartphone. We've seen this sensor on the Honor View 20 before and it manages to deliver some great details and clarity in images. It captures the right colours and delivers some of the most beautiful pictures in HDR mode. In fact, sometimes we couldn't believe we shot these images with a budget smartphone. Most of these pictures were shown in 21MP however you can always take the full 48MP images by toggling the feature in the settings. Budget smartphones tend to struggle in low-light photography however Xiaomi has introduced its new Night Mode in MIUI 10. The new model does manage to take brighter images in low light which the budget smartphone was unable to do previously. The dynamic range also plays a crucial role in delivering these shots. It works very similar to Google's Night Shot as it combines different a series of images taken in different contrast levels to give you a better low-light image. Overall, we were quite pleased with the camera performance and even raises the question for the need of flagship level smartphones. Sure, flagship smartphones have great cameras but the gap is being closed quite rapidly thanks to smartphones like Redmi Note 7 Pro. Gallery View this post on Instagram Pictures shot using the #redminote7pro. Loving the night mode and it's quite decent from a phone that doesn't break the bank. #xiaomi #smartphones #gadgets #techie #technology #tech A post shared by Akshay Bhalla (@editorinchief) on Mar 10, 2019 at 11:44pm PDT Software Performance The Redmi Note 7 Pro ships with MIUI 10 and we would like to address the elephant in the room. MIUI 10 does have advertisements and if you wish to disable them you can do it by following these steps. Having said that, these advertisements are a bit annoying especially when you install a new application. Xiaomi has a security app that scans newly installed applications that have advertisements embedded within it. You can easily turn off the feature however it is a bit jarring when you kept getting bombarded with advertisements. If you want a seamless, experience, we suggested you follow the steps above. If you look beyond the ads, MIUI 10 looks quite clean and visually appealing with satisfying animations and overall stability. You have usual functions like dual apps and a new gesture navigation system that is easy to use. It's quite similar to what we've seen on the new iPhones but with slightly different animation and multi-tasking layout. Performance Equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 675 chipset, the Redmi Note 7 Pro delivers a great overall experience when it comes to performing tasks daily usage. While it works great with less CPU intensive apps, it lacks in processing graphics for fluid gaming. On PUBG mobile, the smartphone would often have massive frame rate drops in high settings and has the rubber-banding effect too. We would recommend you play GPU intensive games with lower settings. Furthermore, the Redmi Note 7 Pro does heat up a bit when playing games which were expected as it does not have a dedicated cooling system like the POCO F1. Regardless, the smartphone is good enough for casual games like Temple Run and can handle games like Asphalt 9 in medium setting. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla In terms of Geekbench scores, the Redmi Note 7 Pro scored 6520 in the multi-core test while it scored 2380 in the single core test. In our opinion, that's quite a respectable score for a smartphone that costs only Rs 13,990. The Redmi Note 4 Pro comes with 4,000 mAh battery which has remained unchanged from previous models. Battery life on the Redmi Note 7 Pro is exceptional with moderate usage as we had almost 6.5 hours of screen-on-time. We tested the smartphone with navigation, gaming and communication. In addition, it also supports QC4 however you need to buy a compatible charger separately. The Redmi Note 7 Pro was able to last almost two days on a single charge which is quite impressive for any smartphone. The Final Say If you are looking for a smartphone that can take awesome pictures, last 2 days on a single charge and can delivery awesome battery life, the Redmi Note 7 Pro is your best bet. The new smartphone has stepped up its game in the photography department and can perform well with moderate usage. Starting at Rs 13,9990 the Redmi Note 7 Pro is the king of budget smartphones right now.
  9. The entire PewDiePie vs T-series thing was a little too quiet for a while back there, but it's back with a bang, well kinda. With the entire world - including India - supporting PewDiePie in remaining the most subscribed channel on the website, Bhushan Kumar, Gulshan Kumar's son and the chairman and managing director of T-Series decided to make a case for his company on Twitter. He posted a video talking about how T-Series becoming the most subscribed channel will make history and will be a win for India, on his Twitter account. We're on the brink of becoming the world's biggest @YouTube channel. We can make history. We can make India win. It's just a transparent attempt at his part by trying to play on people's patriotism, which is honestly not okay. Furthermore, T-Series is not exactly what Twitter is about. PewDiePie started a channel on his own and then, over time, became unbelievably successful after putting in so much hard work. 10. Seems like Apple was able to save yet another life, thanks to its heart rate sensor as it was able to detect unusual activity in a man's pulse rate. The Apple Watch has been known to be able to save lives via features that are in-built in the smartwatch. In this particular case, the man was diagnosed with tachycardia. © YouTube The man was Science Friday radio host Ira Flatow's brother and the incident was tweeted by him saying “saved by his Apple Watch,” The Apple Watch alerted him to a rapid heartbeat and suggested that he should visit a hospital. My brother was saved by his Apple Watch. After he felt a rapid heart beat >200 bpm, his watch told him to “go to the hospital.” He did and his tachycardia was diagnosed. — Ira Flatow (@iraflatow) March 7, 2019 Tachycardia is a condition when the heart rate exceeds the normal resting rate. Generally, if the resting heart rate is above 10 beats per minute, the condition is considered "tachycardia". Flatlow continued to say that his brother commented on the accuracy of his Apple Watch “and BTW, during the 15 hours I was at the hospital hooked up to the monitors, my the monitors never disagreed with my watch's reading. I checked MANY times.” © MensXP It's not the first time where the Apple Watch was able to save someone's life. 11. The Internet is a fierce battleground for users, clicks, attention, and audience. Competition surrounds your community from all angles and new threats constantly emerge. The Internet has leveled the playing field for local businesses, solopreneurs, and small organizations which means more people than ever are competing for users. Online communities are no different, and as companies realize the growing power of communities, you too may face more challenges. Online communities are growing faster than ever: IDC predicts worldwide online communities market to grow to $1.2 billion in 2019 According to research by Leader Networks, twenty-three percent of marketers who have online communities indicate that the size of their communities doubled in the past year. How is your community competing against your competitors? Is your community growing or stagnating relative to your competitors? In this blog post, we identify core concepts of competitive strategy that stretch from traditional theory to unique methods of winning for communities. Theory of Competition The broadly-accepted understanding of competition in the business world rests on the seminal work by Professor Michael Porter, when he mapped out the origins of competitive forces in his 1979 book “How Competitive Forces Shape Strategy.” Fundamentally, all strategies for Porter distill into two basic options: Build on what you already do, or do something no one else can do. You can compete by doing what everyone else is doing but be more efficient, such as offering higher quality content, a better user experience, or having a lower price of member acquisition. Or, you can expand the pie by forging a new position in the marketplace, such as staking out an untapped niche or developing a unique service. What’s your current competitive strategy: be better at what you’re already doing and your competitors, or to do something completely new? Emerging Theories A new strategy on competition is emerging that is just as potent as Porter’s competitive forces. It’s especially relevant for online communities in the digital age: reacting opportunistically to emerging possibilities. Discovery-driven planning is the field’s most recent thinking. It was introduced 20 years ago in works like Tim Luehrman’s “Strategy as a Portfolio of Real Options” that talked about flexibility as a strategy. The idea was also introduced in the more recent “Stop Making Plans: Start Making Decisions” by Michael Mankins and Richard Steel, which argued for continuous strategic planning cycles. Online communities are impacted by – and can seize advantage of – fluctuating factors: Technical advances and digital disruptions Disruptions in your industry The faster you react to market or technological change, the greater your advantage will become over time. What disruption recently impacted your industry or niche? How can you capitalize on the opportunity? Application to Online Communities Online communities are at an especially powerful intersection of customers, superusers, industry experts, and brand representatives. By assembling a broad mix of users, you gain a source of competitive knowledge and crowd wisdom unmatched by traditional businesses. Market intelligence – Harness the power of crowds by letting your members feed you real-time market intelligence on the industry, market trends, and competitors. Use technology to your advantage – Become an expert on utilizing your Invision platform as a technological advantage, whether you’re increasing visitor registrations with Post Before Registering, adding in store filters in Commerce, or enabling the application manifest settings for faster access on smartphones. Collaborative ideation – Collaborate with users early in the design process to create services or products that are highly-differentiated. Co-Creation – Channel your user’s expertise, enthusiasm, and product knowledge into co-created content such as tutorials, support answers, industry news, contests, and more. Brand Ambassadors – Turn your membership’s most passionate users into brand ambassadors to provide outreach and personalized connections. Conclusion Communities are challenged and tested every day by a multitude of competitors that compete for users. Competition is fierce, and as the web continues to proliferate and level the playing field, competition will only get stronger. It’s no longer enough to host a general discussion forum. Successful communities envision a clear competitive strategy. Although competition is fierce, there are winners on the Internet who consistently gain market share. The winners are those who understand the fundamental drivers of competition: to create sustainable advantages over their competitors, to offer unique services and experiences, and to react opportunistically. They also leverage all facets of their community for maximum value. Join me in 2019 in defining your competitive strategy and becoming a Community of Excellence. - Joel R Joel R is a mystery wrapped inside an enigma. When he's not running his own successful community, he's peppering Invision Community's private Slack channel with his feedback, community management experience and increasingly outrageous demands (everything is true except the last part).
  12. Asa Kazingmei exhibits are always an exciting event filled with unparalleled energy. For the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019, Asa experimented with their signature, 'the leather jacket' and tried to create unconventional but badass looks. Using defined silhouettes and structures, he has created a futuristic themed ensemble called 'Bionic' with space age elements and trinkets. You can even spot bold accessories like the bum bag, face masks, chunky lockets, ripped patches, graffiti scribbled fabrics among other intricate details. The collection is perfect for achieving a rad gangster vibe, which is perfect for a trip with the boys to the mountains. We think that face masks are not only cool but also important today because of the increasing levels of air pollution and Sneha Arora for Asa Kazingmei shows how to style them in the most fierce, gangster way. The show also saw Gurmeet, Nikhil Chinapa and Prathamesh Maulingkar walking the ramp. Take a look at the collection to see how easy it is to achieve a rad gangster vibe. © Lakmé Fashion Week Keep in mind that kohl, dreadlocks and black are your essentials. You start with taking care of these first. However, you can do without dreadlocks if you want to. © Lakmé Fashion Week A leather jacket, patchy ripped jeans and bulky boots add metal to the outfit. © Lakmé Fashion Week Throw on a bunch of trinkets and baggy black joggers, a counter intuitive way to achieve the look. © Lakmé Fashion Week Graffiti doesn't belong to the walls. Wear it on your sleeve with pride, for it is a great medium for self expression. © Lakmé Fashion Week Bumbags work really well with this look. PSA: Never forget the mask. It saves you from the toxic pollutants in the air too and also contributes as a major factor in making you look rad.
  13. Fortnite has been dominating the gaming world and is probably the most successful free-to-play game in gaming history. The game managed to make $2.8 billion in revenue in 2018 and it doesn't seem to die out in popularity soon. The Battle Royale genre was made popular by PUBG and the game has held its own when it comes to earnings. © Blue Hole 2018 was a huge year for PUBG and according to Superdata figures, the game made over $1 billion in revenue last year. That made PUBG the highest grossing paid game in 2018 and the earnings don't even include money made from PUBG mobile. If we take earnings from PUBG mobile into consideration, it is probably the second highest grossing game right behind Fortnite. Here's the full list of both free-to-play and paid games ranked according to their earnings: Top Free-to-play Games Fortnite, Epic Games - $2.4 billion Dungeon Fighter Online, Nexon - $1.5 billion League of Legends, Riot Games, Tencent - $1.4 billion Pokemon GO, Niantic - $1.3 billion Crossfire, Neowiz Games - $1.3 billion Honour of Kings, Tencent - $1.3 billion Fate/Grand Order, Aniplex - $1.2 billion Candy Crush Saga, King, Activision Blizzard - $1.1 billion Monster Strike, Mixi - $1.0 billion Clash Royale, Supercell, Tencent - $0.9 billion Top Paid Games PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Bluehole - $1.028 billion FIFA 18, Electronic Arts - $790 million Grand Theft Auto V, Take-Two Interactive - $628 million Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII, Activision Blizzard - $612 million Red Dead Redemption 2, Take-Two Interactive - $516 million Call of Duty: WWII, Activision Blizzard - $506 million FIFA 19, Electronic Arts - $482 million Monster Hunter: World, Capcom - $467 million Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, Ubisoft - $440 million Overwatch, Activision Blizzard - $429 million PUBG has been continually losing players after it peaked with 3 million concurrent players worldwide however it still ended up being the top selling and most-played game on steam. Considering how Fortnite has been destroying everything in its path, it's impressive to see the game earn this kind of figures. © MensXP The mobile version of the game has become more popular thanks to its popularity in India and other regions. The mobile version earned $32.5 million in November 2018 alone and it seems like the popularity of the game will only seem to rise. It's not only the mobile version, the game saw a sudden rise in concurrent players on Steam I.e. 1 million players in December 2018. This may have been due to Blue Hole's effort to purge hackers that initially led to the game's stagnant growth. It would be interesting to see how PUBG will fare against Fortnite in 2019 and whether it would be able to rake in similar revenue numbers. Still, it was reassuring to see PUBG hold it's own against a juggernaut like Fortnite. Source: Forbes
  14. This is the story of a guy who ended up in a hospital bed suffering from tuberculosis due to random gym advices given by 'desi trainers'. But this is also the story of a guy who didn't give up and fought against all odds to make things work for him and became a successful fitness trainer with a great physique. Shubham started working out at the gym at a very early age of 15 years. Since he was a little overweight from childhood, he joined a gym near his house in a small town near Kolkata to get into shape. There weren't decent equipment in the gym, let alone an educated trainer. He still continued lifting weights in the gym, by looking at others and learning how they did it. After that, he came to Kolkata and joined a better gym which had decent equipment. However, the trainers and their advices were still the same. He was told to eat less and train more if he wanted to get in shape. Furthermore, he was told that the only way to build muscle was to use supplements and steroids. And since he couldn't afford any, he just ate a calorie deficit unstructured diet that was low in carbs and protein. He did lose a lot of weight by eating less and training more but ended up suffering from tuberculosis due to an unhealthy diet. After spending more than six months recovering from that ailment, he knew that he had to do something if he was serious about his health and fitness goals. Fitness Education After his ordeal, he decided to get proper education in fitness and do it himself. Though his parents didn't support him, he went ahead anyway and got a certification. This decision completely changed his outlook towards fitness. From A Recovering Patient To Six Packs After completing the certification, the first thing he did was to fix his nutrition. He made changes in his diet and workout according to his goals and decided to get back into shape in whatever time possible. He knew that it would take a long time but he was ready to put in the efforts. Since he was weight training from a couple of months, his body responded well. Diet Since his target was fat loss, he knew that there was no other way to get into shape except counting his macros. He followed a deficit of 500 calories per week and the total calorie intake was about 2400 calories a day with a macro breakdown of 140 grams of protein, 70 grams of fats and around 350 grams of carbohydrates. Workout Body recomposition is best achieved when you have a good combination of resistance training and cardio. Shubham also did the same. Cardio was a regular part of his workouts; however, he chose to do it outside the gym. His gym was around 4 kilometers from his house. So he used to run from his house to the gym and did the same while coming back. He was on the Push-pull-legs routine which looked like this. Monday and Thursday - Chest, shoulder and triceps Tuesday and Friday - back and biceps Wednesday and Saturday - legs and abdominal Sunday - rest
  15. Bollywood likes to party, and when the excuse is as legit as a movie being as well-received as 'Simmba' at the Box-Office, that turns into a 'bash'. It happened, and all our favourite action stars got together to celebrate it. (When was the last time you saw Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn in the same frame?) © Manav Manglani Now, when Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar are present at an event together, naturally, one would assume that no one else has a chance in terms of outfit and footwear. This time though, our very own Mr Khiladi played the game better than them. While Karan's Gucci platform sneakers and Ranveer's playful orange shoes (Yeezys? They're partially hidden) tried their best, they couldn't match up to Akki's black and white statement boots. © Manav Manglani Akshay has always been extremely minimal in terms of his style statement, but clearly knows how to once in a while throw in statement pieces and make it work like a charm. His outfit is extremely demure, but those high boots add the much needed dimension that spells 'functional fashion'. © Manav Manglani We're in love with the faux leather finish, plus that white toe cap and sole. All we can say is, simplicity never fails to make a statement and Akki plays that game better than anyone else
  16. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is probably one of the fastest Android smartphones out there. It's got 10GB of RAM and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 chipset. However, that is where the smartphone is crippled when it comes to being the fastest smartphone. Apple may have not launched an exciting smartphone this year, however, the company's new A12 Bionic Chipset and iOS 12 are fine-tuned in tandem with each other to give the best performance on a smartphone ever. © OnePlus It's no secret that a smartphone's speed depends not only on RAM but the SoC it's being powered with for optimum speed. Qualcomm's 845 chipsets simply do not have enough juice to take on Apple's proprietary chipset. That has been the story for a few years now; however, the A12 Bionic is simply unbeatable right now as it offers significantly overall improved performance while using less power. © YouTube A Youtube channel by the name of PhoneBuff set out to put the two smartphones against each other. The YouTuber pitted the two smartphones against each other to find out which smartphone is faster. The McLaren Edition of OnePlus 6T offers 10GB of RAM and is one of the first smartphones to offer this configuration in India. What's worthy to note is that the iPhone XS Max has only 4GB of RAM. © Akshay Bhalla_MensXP In the video, we can see that the OnePlus 6T was faster in initial speed tests; however the iPhone managed to beat it in the end when it came to overall performance. The video is proof that it's not only about the RAM as the iPhone XS Max managed to beat a smartphone with 10GB RAM with its measly 4GB RAM under the hood. If you don't believe us, you can watch the video for yourself below and see how the iPhone XS managed to defeat the OP6T McLaren edition.

While we saw the lighthearted camaraderie between the rockstars, we also saw the savage competition between them when it came to the game rounds. © Hotstar One of the highlights of the episode was the fashion quiz, which we have never seen on KWK before. Honestly, we could tell that this episode had to do a lot with fashion as soon as Karan Johar started telling us about how he is absolutely committed to his airport looks, and that they are a big deal for him. 18. We all know how great a player Cristiano Ronaldo is. I mean, I constantly keep hearing about his achievements, even though I don't know anything about football. And, to prove it even more, he's now the first player in the history of football to achieve a hundred Champions League wins! A few months ago he made headlines after becoming a part of Juventus and he's made a new club record by securing a last 16 spot in the UEFA Champions League for the fifth year in a row. The star player obviously helped in scoring the important match-winning goal. But, it wasn't just a club record; the night also marked Ronaldo's 100th Champions League win, beating none other than Lionel Messi to the record. Speaking of the Ronaldo effect on the team, Allegri told Sky Sport Italia, “Cristiano Ronaldo? He gives us a lot of confidence and he helps us achieve the results that we want. We have been doing much better and we have been improving all year long.” Everyone's obviously excited about this achievement and expressed it on Twitter. 1ï¸â£st player to claim ð¯ @ChampionsLeague victories! 19. This article is going to be very personal for me, as I will be sharing with you my own experience with workout addiction. Yes, that's true; you can become addicted to exercise. Though a majority of the people around the world find it hard to get the ample motivation to exercise regularly, there is a small population who IS addicted to it. Yes, the ones who often spend their online surfing time reading fitness blogs like this one! No, I am not saying that you are definitely an addict if you're reading this article, but I want to share a few traits of someone who works out constantly. But before I get down to those symptoms, let me tell you more about my own experience of workout addiction. I have loved to be active in my entire life, at least as far as I can remember. I just love to sweat daily and get that endorphin high. I easily get carried away, trying to squeeze in more intensity, more strength, the list goes on, but the bottom line is, I don't always know when to give my body a break. Or rather I should say, technically I do 'know' (as it's my profession) but I still struggle with establishing the right balance. The result is inadequate recovery, and suffering from a host of consequences which could range from mild to severe. Strange as it may sound, but once exercise is in your blood, in your regular routine, you simply feel “off” when you skip it. I become moody and irritable when I don't get my daily sweat session. Now that's a good thing if it gives you the motivation but it's not for everyone and hugely depends on your training age. The problem starts when your body is not adequately recovering and you simply don't know how to take a break. Below is the list of the signs that indicate you are overtraining - 1) Sleeping Too Much Or Not Sleeping At All If you are tired and sleepy all the time even after getting a good night sleep or if you find it hard to get a good night sleep, you might be a victim of overtraining. Working out too much can release stress hormone like cortisol which can interfere with your sleep. On the other hand, working out daily with a high intensity can increase your recovery period to a point where you always feel sleepy. © Pixabay 2) Getting Sick Very Frequently Over-exercising can weaken your immune system as it will always be busy with the post-workout repair. Exercise is meant to strengthen your immune system and not to weaken it. If you feel that you have started falling sick more often, it might be a sign of overtraining. 3) Too Sore All The Time It is obvious to feel sore after an intense workout. However, if you feel sore in every muscle at every time of the day, that's not really a healthy sign. It means that you need to slow things down and take a break from a workout. © Pixabay 4) Dipping Energy Levels A healthy and balanced workout makes you feel energetic and motivated towards the next workout. However, if you really have to drag yourself to the gym and your energy levels have been slowly diminishing, it may be a sign of overtraining. 20. Karan Johar and Akshay Kumar are perhaps the most competitive people in Bollywood. While KJo always makes sure that no one stands a chance when it comes to the conquests of his sartorial adventures, Akshay Kumar does it in life. The recent 'Koffee With Karan' episodes are proof. We just saw a glimpse of that IRL. KJo stepped out wearing an insane pair of shoes, like he usually does. He stepped out in a pair that stood out in its own right, and how! Take a look. © Viral Bhayani High tops are in, but Akshay has always been one to stick to the basics, and not go all out in terms of sticking to a trend. Clearly, times are changing and so is he. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Just look at that insane pair of white sneakers. 21. Type 2 diabetes can be managed without any medication if you structure your daily diet a little carefully. You just have to figure out the best foods to eat that can help you maintain your blood sugar levels at a uniform rate throughout the day. Today I am going to tell you about a few such food items that will help you to satisfy your hunger and will also keep your blood sugar levels in a check. 1) Green Leafy Vegetables © Pixabay Not only are they delicious but green leafy vegetables are extremely nutritious and low in calories. The Glycemic Index of green vegetables is also not high which makes them an ideal choice of food to be included in the diet of a diabetic. A few good examples of such green leafy vegetables would be spinach and kale. However all other leafy green veggies can also form a part of your regular diet if you're a type 2 diabetic. They are also a good source of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C. In addition, green vegetables are a good source of the antioxidants like lutein and zeaxanthin. These antioxidants protect your eyes from macular degeneration and cataracts, which are commonly found with long term diabetes complications. 2) Cinnamon © Pixabay Cinnamon is common spice which has potent antioxidant activity in your body. In a similar study conducted by Department of Endocrinology, Xuhui District Central Hospital, Shanghai, China, Cinnamon supplementation was able to significantly improve blood glucose levels in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes. 3) Turmeric © Thinkstock Images Turmeric is also a common spice like cinnamon. Turmeric has been used in our Indian household since ages but you may not know that it has few anti diabetic properties as well. It has an active ingredient known as curcumin which can lower your Inflammation and blood sugar levels. Thus including flaxseeds in your daily diet can help you with the daily intake of lignan and thus maintaining a low blood sugar level. 5) Apple Cider Vinegar © Pinterest Though ACV is commonly being consumed by weight watchers these days, its more scientific use is actually for people who suffer from the problem of diabetes. ACV has shown to improve insulin sensitivity and lower fasting sugar levels. In fact, when consumed with food, ACV may help you to reduce your blood sugar response by 20 percent. In a journal published by Department of Nutrition, Arizona State University, Arizona, USA the study revealed a 6 percent decrease in blood sugar level when the participants took 2 teaspoon of ACV before bed. You can begin by including 1 teaspoonful of ACV in your diet. Remember to dilute it with water or food. Akshay is currently in Jaisalmer, shooting for 'Housefull 4' and even in his busy schedule, he has managed to take some time out for his workout routine. View this post on Instagram Always been a fan of mornings...even more beautiful here in Jaisalmer. Doing a neck exercise today and I personally love exercising outdoors as it helps boost the body, mind and mood. What about you guys? #FitIndia A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) on Sep 29, 2018 at 10:28pm PDT In fact, videos of him doing a neck exercise and shadow boxing while cycling free hands is scary to even imagine, let alone attempt them. 23. “Aesthetics might make you look like a Superhero. But strength allows you to feel it.” Powerlifting has been steadily gaining popularity all over the world. The sport is pretty simple, lift maximum weights in three lifts- squats, bench press and deadlifts for one rep and the lifter with highest total wins. Hence, the goal of powerlifting training is to maximise strength on the Big 3 Lifts (Squats, Bench, Deadlift), and there is little space for working on aesthetics like wide lats, peaking biceps or round medial deltoids. Bodybuilders on the other hand train primarily for aesthetics. This is the reason why these athletes have differences in strength levels and appearance. But there genetically blessed powerlifters (Mutants) who can beat Bodybuilders in the department of aesthetics as well. Here are our Top 4 Aesthetic Powerlifters. 1) Larry Wheels © YouTube Larry Wheels is currently making news all over social media by lifting ridiculously heavy for REPS (275 Kg Incline Bench for 5 Reps). Larry looks like an animal who has been lifting from decades but that is not the case. As a kid he could not afford any Gym's membership and used to perform bodyweight exercises everyday and lifted concrete bricks. Until he started his first job he had never stepped into a proper gym. Larry already has some world records under his name. His official current maxes are 373 Kg Squat, 268 Kg Bench Press and a 380 Kg Deadlift. What makes these numbers even more impressive is his age, which is 23. Weighing more than 122 Kg Larry is super jacked yet stays lean year round. 2) Ben Pollack © generationiron 771-pound squat, 413-pound bench, 733-pound deadlift Ben Pollack is a Doctoral student from University of Texas, Austin. He has been competing in powerlifting from 5 years under 90 Kg weight category. Ben's current official maxes are: 350.5 Kg Squat, 187 Kg Bench Press and a 333 Kg Deadlift. Ben is a super strong lifter yet possesses all the traits of a successful bodybuilder: paper thin skin, striated abs, wide back and peaking biceps. 3) Mike O'Hearn © YouTube Mike O'Hearn or The Titan needs no introduction. Most people know him as an actor, fitness model or a bodybuilder. But he has also been a successful powerlifter with 4 California Powerlifting Championship titles under his name. His maximum lifts include a 370 Kg Squat, 230 Kg Bench Press and 345 Kg Deadlift. He is the true pioneer of the power-building trend (Strength + Aesthetics). At the age of 49 Mike still looks like a Greek God's sculpture is stronger than average lifters in their 20s. 4) Mukesh Singh Gehlot © YouTube Mukesh Singh Gehlot also known as 'Guru Ji' is a popular athlete from India. He has been titled Mr India and Mr World in bodybuilding. He has switched to Powerlifting where he is still doing pretty good. He has won several titles in Powerlifting including the World Powerlifting Championship England 2016 and Mr Olympia Pro Powerlifting 2017. Although he has changed his training style, if he steps on stage he will still be a tough competitor. 24. On one hand where India is busy fighting it out with England at Edgbaston in the five-match Test series, their respective fan clubs too seem to be at loggerheads with each other. Known as 'The Bharat Army' and 'The Barmy Army', the two fan clubs played a cricket match at Richmond Cricket Club in Birmingham, and before we could even think about who won the match, an auto rickshaw came and stole all the limelight away from it. © Reuters The concept of 'drinks break' is nothing new in the world of Cricket. Earlier, we used to see players carrying drinks to the cricketers sweating it out on the pitch. With the advent of technology, vehicles replaced humans to deliver drinks. Talking about vehicles, thanks to 'The Bharat Army' the world saw an auto rickshaw deliver drinks to the players in Birmingham. © Twitter One look at the video and you will feel that you're watching a Gully Cricket match and not a match happened at a Cricket club in England. Honestly, I don't know what's more surprising - an auto rickshaw in England or desi Jugaad ruling at a Birmingham Cricket pitch. #ENGvIND Are you taking taking notes @BCCI ? A new way of delivering 'drinks' for the the players... #BharatArmyRickshaw #BharatArmy #Rickshaw #Cricket #IndianCricket #TeamIndia #LoveCricket #ViratKohli #COTI ð®ð³@imVkohli pic.twitter.com/v8M0nEa5Uw — The Bharat Army (@thebharatarmy) August 6, 2018 The video was shared by 'The Bharat Army' on their Twitter page, where they even urged BCCI to take notes. They wrote, "Are you taking notes @BCCI ? A new way of delivering 'drinks' for the the players…" 'The Bharat Army' is like an official fan club of the Indian Cricket team in England. In fact, they are reportedly expected to cheer for Team India in the second Test match that will be held at the iconic Lord's Stadium on August 9.
