  1. If you've stopped obsessing over the Starbucks cup that magically appeared (and then disappeared) on the fourth episode of the final season of 'Game of Thrones', and have also had the time to look past the camps at the Met Gala, you'd have noticed that the Muslim world is ushering in the month of Ramzan (or Ramadan, as “better Muslims” call it). For those of you new to the word, Ramzan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is considered holy by the believers of the faith. Apart from fasting from dawn to dusk, they change their conduct in the month to be more calm, peaceful and pious (something that they can and should do during the rest of the months also). A quick AMA session with my 4,000-odd followers on Instagram about Ramzan revealed the hilarious sense of apathy most of us have about it and the festivities/religiosities. © Zain Anwar © Zain Anwar © Zain Anwar © Zain Anwar So, before you irritate your Muslim friends with stupid arguments, questions and suggestions, let me quickly give you a refresher course on the many things you shouldn't say to them during Ramzan. 1. “Bilkul Bhook Nahin Lagti?” That's a strange and morbid question, to be honest. Try to understand, hunger and thirst are basic bodily needs. People obviously feel hungry and thirsty during the day. I mean, I understand that the question is more out of concern than shock, but it never really helps. And any knightly person who tells you he/she doesn't feel hunger and thirst during the day is purely lying. Trust me. 2. “Dude, You'd Stay Without Water For The Entire Month?” No, it doesn't work like that. Muslims don't go without water for the entire month. If they did, they'd all be dead probably (Some of you may think that's cool, but no). That's not even possible, bhai. The duration of the fast is from dawn to dusk. Believers are free to eat and drink all the lawful things they can at night. 3. “Then Toh You Guys Must Be Eating All Night?” The following conversation is the model. NOT. You: “Isn't it true? Khud bata?” Them: “That's not the case. Somehow, I feel full right after eating a small portion.” You: “Arey, but how is that possible? When you are hungry all day, you will eat na?” Them: “Haan, that's what we feel all day. But sometimes we skip dinner also because we are not that hungry.” You: “That is because you guys eat all pakoras and shit. That's why you should not eat all that and always eat healthy. Like chana and all.” Them: “Dude, even if I eat healthy, I get full early.” You: “Kuch bhi? I don't believe you, man!” 4. “Cigarette Toh Pee Sakte Hain!” Technically, you are not wrong. The three things completely forbidden during the fast are food, liquids and ***. What that means is: your fast may technically not be broken. But come on, kaesi baat kar rahe ho yaar? 5. “Sorry, We Are Having It In Front Of You” Honestly, feels very good when people are considerate about your fast. But trust me, the idea of somebody fasting is not to make the other person feel guilty or sympathetic. People do it only because they want to do it. So, whenever you think bad about eating or drinking in front of your fasting friends, don't. That's not what they want. 6. “This Is Haram” Well, who can take out the haram police from this conversation? Every rare occasion you feel a spiritual connection, the haram police come knocking, to remind you that reaching God is not that easy. Every year during Ramzan, Islamic Moral policing starts which checks all the irrelevant aspects of fasting. Personally, I've been lectured about how swimming and being in a bathtub annuls my fast: not because it wastes water and is not ideal, but because water can seep inside my body through my nostrils, ears and well, the anus. Let's not even talk about how divided we can be when it comes to brushing our teeth during Ramzan. To set the record straight, I do brush my teeth and also go for an occasional swim. Somehow his expression seemed apt for Zain's headline!
  2. It's that time of the year again when I go through my ritual of sending out PSAs to my non-Christian brethren to not go around wishing people a 'Happy Good Friday' and give high-fives saying “Yeah! Good Friday wala long weekend! Whooo!” The sad part is that despite my numerous attempts, through the years, there are always those select handful of morons who manage to fill my Whatsapp chats and social media feeds with a “Hey Marina, Happy Good Friday. Have a good one.” I can't even… via GIPHY Honestly, the mind just reels at the stupidity! What does it take for these people to get it? So, this year, I am taking my PSA responsibilities to the next level and am writing this article, to inform all you wonderful people, that walking around wishing Christians a 'Happy Good Friday' is probably the rudest and most disrespectful thing you could ever do. Now, I firmly believe that no one is doing this intentionally. Because if you ARE doing that, then my friend, the Lord save you. But I do believe that's it's clearly a simple matter of lack of information, which is making people say so. I mean, I get it. It has the word 'good' in it, so naturally, it's something to be celebrated, right? Sorry guys, but no. It, in fact, is one of the most solemn and sorrowful days for the Christian community across the globe. © Icon Productions Good Friday commemorates the day Jesus Christ was crucified to death in the most brutal way imaginable. The Bible says that Jesus was mercilessly beaten up, tortured and then made to carry his own cross on which he was crucified. Watch 'The Passion of Christ' to get a better idea. Yes, what's so 'good' about this entire thing, right? Clearly 'Sad Friday' would have been more apt. But there is a reason for Christ's suffering being labelled as 'good'. Now, I don't want to go into the whole logistics where the Oxford English Dictionary states that 'good' in this particular context, refers to “a day or season observed as Holy by the Church.” Instead, I want to show you the bigger picture and the deeper meaning behind Good Friday. We Christians firmly believe that Christ sacrificed himself to show his love for mankind. On Good Friday, we remember, according to 1 John 1:10, the day Jesus willingly died as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. His suffering and inhuman death, as extremely terrible as it was, was God's incredible plan to save all mankind, even though he had to sacrifice his one and only son. © Icon Productions I imagine if I was there that day Jesus died, I would have probably agreed with most of you lot and questioned what was so good about that day. All hope was lost, Satan was clearly having a party and evil had triumphed. But a few days later, something happened that turned the tables around. Good Friday is followed by Easter, the glorious day Jesus rose from the dead, marking his victory over sin and showing a future full of promise and forgiveness, for all those who believed in him. As terrible as the day was, Good Friday paved the way for mankind's salvation, which is marked as 'good' by us Christians. We humans are not capable of erasing all our sins and guilt, but Christ did the unimaginable and died for us. © Reuters Most Christians around the world spend the day in prayer and fasting and confessing their sins, as they prepare for the Easter celebrations. So there you go, I really, really, really hope I have successfully made you guys understand the meaning and the significance of this day. And here's hoping I don't see any 'Happy Good Friday' messages on my feed anymore!
  3. There isn't a better person whose ears we would like to talk off with our nonsense on any given day. No other individual we would rather share a beer with, or haul-ass with when being chased by the traffic cops for not wearing helmets. And definitely, there isn't another one like them who would stick around regardless of all the messy brawls, broken promises and cancelled plans over the years. © Vinod Chopra Films That is how it is with best friends, you will mess up more often than you would want to admit, give each other a hard time over a number of things, yet stick up for each other whenever it comes to you two against the rest of the world. And if you ask us, that is the biggest charm about having a best friend. You can be your best with them, but you can also be your worst, and they would still stick around simply for the “sake of old times” (no, simply because it's you). © Excel Entertainment That is exactly what two friends roaming the streets of Mumbai on a bicycle said about friendship, in not so many words. And that was all the inspiration we needed to fill your feed with a sappy, but heartfelt story on why we let our best friend(s) sweet talk us into the most stupid stuff and get away with it, all the freaking time. For now, read what these two friends of 15 years told Humans of Bombay about their adventures. You see, that is just how we have felt on innumerable occasions - after getting our asses whooped for being stupid enough to give in to each other's crazy ideas, with nothing to help us out of the soup we landed ourselves in after. Yet, regardless of the greatest mess we whip up together, there seems to be no going back after a point of time. We always seem to find our way back to each other, with or without the differences and all-out fights that plague us every now and then. © T-Series A 2009 study has also shown that most friendships last about seven years, anything beyond them and you can be sure that your best friend is here to stay for the long haul. Yet, it doesn't make sense why we always get “sweet-talked” into stupid shit when it comes to them. Actually let us rephrase that, why do we let ourselves be sweet-talked into stupid shit when it comes to them, even when we know full well that “it isn't a good idea”? © T-Series Consider these 5 reasons: 1. They Really Are Our “Brother/Sister From Another Mother”. Now you can't screw that up even if you tried, can you? Actually, you can. Don't date their ex. Just don't. 2. They Get You. As sappy as that might sound, it's a fact none of us can deny. Our best friend gets us in a way nobody else does, and this fact makes them so darn special. 3. You Get To Let Your Weirdness Out, Unapologetically. Think of the craziest, funniest and most ludicrous thoughts or ideas you ever came up with. Who was that one person besides yourself who knows about it, and is still friends with you? Yeah. © Rajkumar Hirani Films 4. You Care, Respect And Look Out For One Another In Your Own Way. There exists this unsaid pact that best friends always maintain wherein even when we can constantly berating one another, we still maintain a sense of respect towards them and look out for each other in our own way. 5. But Most Of All Because… You want to do it just as much as them because it's your friend and anything and everything you do with them is fun!
  4. 'Game of Thrones' is hands down one of the most popular TV series of recent times, and one simply cannot ignore the ardent fan following the show enjoys. From mind-boggling fan theories to crazy fans going out of their way to prove their loyalty, 'Game of Thrones' can boast of it all. © InstruMen However, much like it is the case with most fandoms, GOT fans have also proven their allegiance to the show time and again. Now with the eighth and final season fast approaching its premiere date on 15th April, the webscape is buzzing with excitement like never before. Amidst all this hubbub we stumbled upon IntruMen's capella version of the 'Game of Thrones' theme song, and boy does it sound more than nice! A group of six young men have gotten together and put instruments to rest while calling themselves 'InstruMen' and creating music that's more than pleasing to the ears. Comprising Arish Bhiwandiwala, Nathan Miles, Shaurya Singh, Aseem Trivedi, Akshar Oza and Dean Sequeira, InstruMen takes inspiration from myriad styles and genres such as Jazz, Hip-Hop to Classical, Reggae, RnB and even Indian Classical and Sufi. However, the inspiration to cover the GOT theme song dawned upon them while “we were at a practice session, in one of our breaks we were discussing what might happen in the finale season, and then it struck us that we absolutely have to cover the theme song of the show,” Dean Sequeira told MensXP. © InstruMen Without a doubt the guys are ardent GOT fans. Dean tells us, “All of us love GOT and we often have debates among ourselves as to who is the best character on the show. And well, needless to say, sometimes we forget that we're in the studio to practice and not to discuss GOT.” Even with their acapella rendition of the theme song, it's a mix of everything you expect, yet it's more. There is a freshness and upbeatness about it that is almost catchy. But alas, there is no way we can recreate what they have done! © InstruMen The response they have received so far on this video has been amazing, and Dean tells us that, “the amount of love and appreciation we have received since the video has dropped is incredible. We were absolutely stoked looking at the messages we were getting on our Instagram page and on our personal accounts.” We wish them the very best for their future projects and look forward to their creations.
  5. Bollywood enjoys a crazy fan following not only in India, but even beyond its borders, reaching far and wide across the globe. There have been multiple occasions when people from far away lands have expressed their appreciation and liking for Bollywood films, especially our stars and songs. The Hindi film industry is known all over the world for its loud and peppy numbers that feature in our films and the crazy dance moves our actors pull on-screen in keeping with the Bollywood tradition. © Dharma Productions It seems like Bollywood has found some very special fans not so far away from home in Indonesia. A video featuring three young Indonesian friends, who recently got together and recreated the iconic title track of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', titled 'Tum Paas Aaye' is doing the rounds of social media. 6. Manohar Parrikar, Goa's late CM, was laid to rest last evening with complete state honours, and in the presence of his family, party members and thousands of Goans, who had gathered to bid adieu to “Goa's son”. © Twitter From his colleagues, to the people of the state he worked for and even the opposition leaders, everybody has stepped forward to recall Parrikar's relentless efforts and goodwill not only for his state Goa, but also for the society and nation at large. On Monday, the ex-Defence Minister's friends reminisced about their humble mate Manohar, who always seemed like a born leader to them even when they were a bunch of young lads studying at IIT-Bombay between 1973-1980. Here are 4 impressive details that have been revealed by Manohar Parrikar's friends, which prove that India has lost a valuable and invested leader of our times. dedication word is very small for him #ManoharParikkar #RIPParrikar pic.twitter.com/J5eytpOJuq — Chowkidar Bhuwan Bhatt (@bhuwanbhat) March 17, 2019 1. And once when the mess workers went on strike and refused to serve the students, Parrikar churned out delicious food for everyone along with his friends. Parrikar's hostel mate from IIT-B recalls the incident thus, “He was on good terms with the mess workers as he always participated in the committee. After the strike was called, he spoke to the workers. When they refused to serve us, he convinced 40 of us to cook ourselves. Another IIT-B batchmate of Parrikar, Ganesh Natarajan, recalled Parrikar's humility even after he took charge as the Goa CM. "Have seen him take an auto rickshaw at Mumbai airport even after becoming Goa CM. He will be missed across all walks of life." There might be a ton more incidents about Manohar Parrikar, but these few personal incidents coming from his friends prove that not only was Parrikar a great politician and leader, who was invested in his work and duty, but also that he was a great human being whose heart was in the right place all along. He is the real aam aadmi of the masses.

  8. At a time when faith and religion are gaining prominence over all the other things that make us an active member of the society and each other's lives, we constantly seek out positive instances to help us get to a positive state of mind. One that would guide us to a more cheerful, peaceful and inclusive future, where every individual can live without a religious tag making the slightest difference to our lives. And talking of such positive instances, we have these four young men who are not only inspiring hope, but are also successfully leading the way to show us what a society with thriving communal harmony could look like. © Quora Featured in Humans of Bombay earlier today, one of the four buddies in the picture was quoted saying something so simple yet impactful that we often overlook in our frenzy to get on with our lives on a day to day basis. Something that is as simple as God is one, and we are all His children. Read what the young man has to say, that's inspiring people to come forward and share their personal stories about the wonderful people in there who don't share the same faith, and yet a world of a difference to their life anyway. PUBG Mobile could soon be getting an update following which you'll be able to play as a zombie and hunt down other normal players. There's no official word from PUBG Corp. or Tencent as of now, but the mode is being speculated to arrive with the next update. © PUBG Corporation In one of his recent video, MrGhost Gaming claims that PUBG Mobile published a Facebook post last month collecting feedback and new ideas for the zombie mode. The post seems to have been deleted now as we couldn't find it on PUBG Mobile's official page, but the video does suggest that the developers were onto something similar. © PUBG mobile/MrGhostGaming As a zombie, you won't be able to pick up any weapons or other items, and you'll be dealing with the human opponents using only melee attacks. It's also being speculated that this new mode might be made available in custom rooms, so you can play with your friends. It is said to arrive with the version 0.13 or the 0.14 of the game, so keep your eyes peeled for the same.
  10. Since we live in more tolerant times where relationships are concerned (or so I'd like to believe), a lot of people are choosing to make peace with their past. That's mostly because the world is shrinking and social media's unprecedented outpour of information really never lets you forget things. So, in order to keep your mind more sane and calm, it's only relevant to make peace with your past and by past, I mean your 'ex'. © Pintrest Most of you would want to loosen up the knotted ties between you and your ex and the reasons could be many. You could either want to shed away all the malice you hold for one another, or you still want them in your life because inherently they are good people or you still may have feelings for them, in which case, it's better to let go than figure out ways of having them in your life. But if the first two reasons are keeping your thoroughly confused then we have ways to make sure you have a healthy relationship with an ex. Here are 5 ways to keep in mind if you're looking at refreshing ties with an ex: (1) Are They In The Same Place As You? Yes, I know this is an obvious point to ponder over, but we seldom think what the other person wants in order to satiate what we want. So, the first step is to ensure your ex wants to be friends too. Because if she doesn't, then you really can't force free will can you? You can just wish them luck and hope they're happy. © Pintrest (2) Can You Trust Them Again? If you guys ended on bad terms then you have to think about how you want to go about this. If she did something to break your trust, can you accommodate trust in your equation, again? Of course, it wouldn't be in the same capacity as before, because you're not trying to get back together, you're trying to be in a good space as friends. So, if you trust your ex enough to not engage in any negativity or turn around and start a fight, then you should go ahead with it. © Twitter (3) Do Either Of You Have Feelings For Each Other? This one's a tricky one only because you may think you're over her, but you're really not and that can be a bit blurry while you're making a decision to keep in touch with her. Maybe sit down and give it a thought about your feelings for her. If you think they haven't changed since you started seeing her then maybe give it some time. © Pintrest (4) Do You Hold A Grudge? You can hold a grudge against your ex for a number of things, that is why she's your ex, to begin with! But if the grudge is minor and not too vicious then perhaps you can work on letting it go, if you think friendship with her is absolutely worth it. If it's a major grudge and cannot be reversed, then there isn't a point in looking out for any association, because you'll never be able to let the grudge really go. © Eros International (5) Have You Had Enough Time Apart? It's practically impossible to extend an arm of friendship when you've just broken up. Ideally, it takes about more than half the time you've spent with your ex, to maybe be friends with them, after you two break up. If you've never been friends before then it's a tad tough and only time apart can make that possible. So, take some time away from each other. If the break up is mutual and amicable, then definitely take time away and start a new association as friends. If it wasn't an amicable break-up, maybe take a lot more time away, get rid of the negativity you hold against them and try again. © Pintrest Break-ups are fairly hard but if two people are ready and willing for a resolution and want to take the dynamic from a negative to a positive by starting a brand new friendship, there are ways you can work things around and move away from the bad things that have happened and be good friends with your ex.

  12. Indians are not new to the coffee experience, even when a steaming pan of chai remains a common sight at the tea stalls we spot in every nukkad in town. Yet, the narrative around coffee has undergone major developments in the last few years, as a result of which the appreciation for this darkened gold has made its way beyond the southern borders of the country, where it has been ruling over the hearts of people for the longest time. One of the key game changers in bringing about this notable change in how Indians enjoy their coffee is courtesy to to the makers of 'Sleepy Owl', a specially brewed, gourmet coffee brand that was co-founded by Arman Sood, Ashwajeet Singh, and Ajai Thandi in 2016. © Facebook Before the trio introduced Indian coffee drinkers to the rich and novel taste of cold brew coffee, co-founder Arman by his own admission said that, “up until law school he didn't even know coffee was a bean, that had to be roasted, then ground and brewed.” So we wonder how these three young men came across the gold mine of taste and the high of caffeine discreetly guarded by a select few who had discovered this beauty. Ajai's stint at JP Morgan in New York, stirred his love for coffee for the first time, and in the time he ended up spending there, the love turned into a solid affair. So of course he was more than interested when Ashwadeep show the slightest interest in introducing cold-brewed coffee to people back home. Soon Arman joined the dua, and together the kick started 'Sleepy Owl'. © MensXP So from the very beginning the trio had a very simple agenda, “we wanted Indians to have a fantastic coffee experience, but we wanted to bring it to them in a convenient way for them to enjoy it. So that's what Sleepy Owl does - we make very convenient coffee products,” Arman tells MensXP. 'Sleepy Owl' became a 'corporate-household name' when it came to great tasting coffee which could be freshly delivered to their work desks. The bag-in-box format of 'Sleepy Owl' played a huge part in this, its convenience and quirky packing only adding to the brand's offerings. © Facebook But thankfully, even with his academic backgrounds in law, Arman's family was more than supportive of his decision to transition from law to entrepreneurship. But there is one element that makes the co-founders' and Sleepy Owl's journey all the more special, and it's the fact that Sleepy Owl sources its coffee from within the Indian subcontinent. Proud of this fact, Arman tells MensXP that, “being a startup in India, we wanted to be rooted in the spirit of make in India. With India being the 4th largest coffee exporter in the world, we had to go with its fantastic Arabica coffee. We consistently source 100% of our Arabica coffee from Indian farms. © MensXP The makers of Sleepy Owl work with an aim to create delightful customer experience, yet the initial challenge of getting into retail stores did pose a hurdle. The brand decided to make use of social media popularity and built the hype around the brand online first, and followed it up with customer feedback. So once they had taken care of that along with the daily struggle of roasting, grinding and brewing coffee for that perfect blend, they launched on 16th June, 2016. What started in Ashwajeet's home kitchen in Dwarka, soon moved out to a larger facility in South Delhi, and today they are available in 120 stores in Delhi NCR. But that is just not where they want to draw the line. With the projection that coffee industry will be a 5 billion dollar industry by 2020, Sleepy Owl wants to have a very big portion of that pie. © MensXP So for Arman, every budding entrepreneur must keep this in mind that, “entrepreneurship is like jumping off the cliff without a parachute and building it along the way.” But he also adds that don't listen to the naysayers no matter what they say.
  13. 'Eating clean and eating lean' is a way of life that has been made all the more popular in the recent times, courtesy the long ongoing cultural awakening with regards to food consumption. Veganism, Pescetarianism and all the other -isms making their way to mainstream diet categories every other day is proof that the world is only catching up to something that Indians have been privy to for the longest time. How, you ask? Well, the ancient Ayurvedic philosophy of 'sattvic aahaar' has been preached and followed in the Indian subcontinent for the longest time. Sattvic foods are fresh, juicy, light, nourishing, as well as tasty, which give necessary energy to our body without taxing it. Thus, when it comes to “eating clean and eating lean' we have had the secret within our reach all along. © MensXP But the issue is, with commercialisation ruling over our lives, we haven't been able to stick to the philosophy the way we should. So, two friends decided to take matters into their own hands and change things for good. But how could they compete with the roaring popularity of packaged food that was such a hit with one and all, and also happened to be the main culprit behind why we moved away from the sattvic way of life in the first place. That is exactly what that led to the inception of Sattviko, which aims to present traditional Indian recipes with a modern twist. Sure enough, no sooner had they launched that their products took the entire 'packaged food' market by storm, making them the largest global Indian brand which takes Indianness to every household. © MensXP Today, Sattviko's flavoured makhana, gud chana, khakra chips, and minute namkeen are some of their most sought after products. But this success didn't come easy to Prasoon and Ankush, who are the masterminds behind 'Sattviko'. Before they got their hands on the winning formula, the duo had to face their own share of setbacks. There were two major learning curves they had to work through before they struck gold. Prasoon and Ankush had launched their first startup Tech Buddies with a few of their friends during their final year at IIT Roorkee. After graduation they shifted base to Delhi and within a year managed to achieve a turnover of 1 crore. But soon one of their key partners Suren, quit the venture, followed by two others. © MensXP At this point Prasoon and Ankush decided to move to Jaipur to the explore the opportunity their. But even with large expansion, they did not get the desired returns and had to sell of their company by the end of 2013. This bugged Prasoon to no end, he couldn't keep still until he discovered what was the reason behind the company's unsuccessful trajectory. By the end of that year, after much self-reflection and groundwork, Prasoon and Ankush decided to launch a chain of restaurants that served traditional Indian sattvic food. While at it, they also introduced sattvic food in packaged form and that became a huge hits with consumers. That is how they decided to shut their restaurants and focus entirely on packaged traditional Indian food items instead. © MensXP Talking about this huge leap, Prasoon told MensXP that, “we didn't know ABC of packaged food business when we started out,” and yet within a short span of 4 years Sattviko has managed to reintroduce sattvic food to 10 million Indians. For them, “entrepreneurship is just like a regular profession, but with extra challenges. However, the long term satisfaction is much bigger.” Sattiko as a team has grown manifolds since its creation, and people who are connected to the brand live by the philosophy of seva or service. Prasoon and Ankush plan to take Sattviko to the global platform, and have no plans of stopping any time soon. Catch Prasoon and Ankush share more insights into entrepreneurship, its challenges and quirks, as they spill the beans on their success mantra to MensXP.
  14. Sharing Netflix account details has become a fairly common sight since the service comes with an exorbitant price tag in India. Indian economy isn't mature enough on a scale to pay at least Rs 500 per month for a streaming service. Thanks to sharing of passwords, multiple users can use the same account to stream their favourite shows. The maximum users allowed to be logged in at once is currently capped at four, and technically, it's four screens, and not separate "users". To counter the misuse of a single account by multiple users, this company is using Artifical Intelligence. © Reuters UK-based Synamedia unveiled the artificial intelligence software at the CES 2019 technology trade show in Las Vegas, claiming it could save the streaming industry billions of dollars over the next few years. The streaming service companies would hire Synamedia, which in turn uses AI, behavioural analytics and machine learning to monitor and analyse password sharing activity across user accounts. The AI would then identify the rule breakers. In other words, if you pay for your premium service, you'll probably be fine. If not, you could be the star of the next Netflix true crime docu-series. © AP "For example, the solution can determine whether users are viewing at their main home and a holiday home, or whether they have shared credentials with friends or grown-up children who live away from home. If the latter, then subscribers are offered a premium shared account service that includes a pre-authorized level of password sharing and a higher number of concurrent users," Synamedia explained. The firm notes recent research which found 26 percent of millennials give out their credentials for video streaming services to other people. An estimated US$ 1.2 billion of revenue is lost annually by subscription-based streaming services such as Netflix. © Time Magazine "Casual credentials sharing is becoming too expensive to ignore," said Jean-Marc Racine, CPO of Synamedia. Synamedia confirmed it is now conducting trials with a number of pay-TV operators but refused to reveal whether Netflix is among them. However, the 'casual sharing' practise is so common Netflix CEO Reed Hastings once described it as a 'positive thing' because he believes people who did it were likely to become paying subscribers later down the line.

  17. When I was a kid, I used to pass by crowded places and usually saw men walking together holding hands. It was quite amusing yet endearing to witness that. And it wasn't because the men were homosexual in nature, it was because the sense of camaraderie between the two men was super strong and it usually came out through a strange ppublic display of 'bromance'. © Excel Entertainment The term bromance is so apt to how men curtail and become one with their emotions, all at the same time. Bromance is a closely knit, absolutely heterosexual relationship a man shares with another man. It's intimacy of the same *** without an ounce of sexual or physical attraction. It's the new age bonding, where emotions and physical proximity are both very definitive! According to a new study published by an online journal- Men & Masculinities, young men get more emotional satisfaction out of heterosexual relationships with other men than they do out of romantic liaisons with women. In lay man terms 'bromance' is definitely more of a game changer for men right now and they rather spend time chilling and bonding with their bro's than with their significant others (you thought I was going to say 'hoes' weren't you?) © Reliance BIG Pictures Intimate male friendships are a thing to cherish now, wherein men are making their bonds of friendship stronger and letting their romantic relationships be a secondary factor. But the downside of this analysis is that this strong male bond can in all probability lead to weaker marital bonds between different married couples or reduce the likelihood of men hooking up or pairing up with women in entirety. The study was conducted on 30 heterosexual male participants who were second year college students and either were or had been in a relationship with a woman before. All the men chosen were Caucasian and all had a sports-related major. © Thinkstock The study deduced that all men had at least one 'bromantic' friend they shared an intimate relationship with. From sharing secrets to expressing an emotion or love to sleeping on the same bed, all 30 men had one man in their life they were intimate with and indulged in more proximity than anyone else. Most men even agreed to the fact they'd cuddled with their bromantic partners. The reason though is quite interesting. According to these men, they felt less judged by their bros than they did by their respective girlfriends. For instance one of the men had confided in his bro about his music preferences and how he liked listening to Taylor Swift or even Beyonce. He also stated if he'd told his GF the same, he'd be at a risk of being judged by her. But with his close male friend, there were no judgments at all. I guess the emotional connect between two men who're rather close is way more than a man and woman can ever have. Most men also said they would share something as personal as discussing a close relatives death or even sensitive health information, with their male counterparts rather than sharing this with their lovers. This is interesting because we live under the hypothesis that we share anything and everything personal with our significant others, whereas sometimes that not the case. © Thinkstock There are factors that do differentiate between bromance and romance. Primarily they're sexual attraction, emotional connection and personality. The study determined these factors as the main classification between being around a bro and being around your GF. While with the bro personality and an emotional connect are two affirmed qualities to establish a connect, with your significant other you definitely have to have a sexual attraction and you possibly cant have that with your male friend, if you're a heterosexual male. © Thinkstock A while ago bromance took a backseat because of the stigma homosexual relationships were creating back then. But today men are progressively taking a step forward and embracing intimacy with the same gender, to establish relationships that go beyond just friendship and don't get lost in translation either. It's now 'manly' to have a bro who understands your emotions, connects with your personality on every level and isn't afraid to share a bed with you either, or cuddle you for that matter! So, if you're a bromantic at heart, you should know it's absolutely okay to embrace it because a bromance can last a lifetime, after all!
  18. Just a month ago, Sonali Bendre posted a heartfelt note on her social media accounts, sharing the heart-breaking news with her fans that she has been diagnosed with cancer. But, she made sure to tell everyone that she's taking this battle head on and is getting the best treatment there is to better the condition. Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them. There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I've received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful. I'm taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me. A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 3, 2018 at 11:46pm PDT She has been battling metastatic cancer and is currently in New York, where she is undergoing treatment for the same. She also occasionally posts on her Instagram with updates and shares her positive outlook in life, even when she's dealing with so much right now. In the words of my favourite author Isabel Allende, “We don't even know how strong we are until we are forced to bring that hidden strength forward. In times of tragedy, of war, of necessity, people do amazing things. The human capacity for survival and renewal is awesome.” The outpouring of love I've received in the last few days has been so overwhelming… and I'm especially grateful to those of you who shared stories of your experiences in dealing with cancer, whether it was your own or of loved ones. Your stories have given me an extra dosage of strength and courage, and more importantly, the knowledge that I'm not alone. Each day comes with its own challenges and victories and so for now, I'm taking this #OneDayAtATime. The only thing I'm trying to be consistent about is maintaining a positive outlook... literally #SwitchOnTheSunshine - it's my way of dealing with this. Sharing my journey is also part of this process... I can only hope it reminds you that all is not lost and that someone, somewhere understands what you're going through. ð¤ð Thank you @tomoarakawa for making this a chic transition from long to short! A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 10, 2018 at 12:20am PDT She's always shown appreciation for all the people she's surrounded with, all the people who want nothing else but for her to win this battle and come out stronger. From the moment he was born 12 years, 11 months and 8 days ago, my amazing @rockbehl took ownership of my heart. From then on, his happiness and wellbeing have been the centre of anything @goldiebehl and I ever did. And so, when the Big C reared its ugly head, our biggest dilemma was what and how we were going to tell him. As much as we wanted to protect him, we knew it was important to tell him the full facts. We've always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn't going to be different. He took the news so maturely… and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me. In some situations now, he even reverses roles and takes on being the parent, reminding me of things I need to do! I believe that it's imperative to keep kids involved in a situation like this. They are a lot more resilient than we give them credit for. It's important to spend time with them and include them, rather than make them wait on the side-lines, not being told yet instinctively knowing everything. In our effort to protect them from the pain and realities of life, we might end up doing the opposite. I'm spending time with Ranveer right now, while he's on summer vacation. His madness and shenanigans help me #SwitchOnTheSunshine. And today, we derive strength from each other #OneDayAtATime A post shared by Sonali Bendre (@iamsonalibendre) on Jul 18, 2018 at 11:29pm PDT As everyone knows, today is Friendship's Day, and if you have incredible friends, they'll come to celebrate with you, wherever you are in the world. Sussanne Khan, Gayatri Oberoi and Hrithik Roshan are those kinds of friends and Sonali shared a picture with them saying, “I am extremely grateful to my friends, my pillars of strength, who at a moment's notice, arrived to be with me and help me through this. In between their busy schedules they find time to visit, call, message, FaceTime... basically never leaving a moment for me to feel alone.” This is me. And in this moment, I am really happy. People give me strange looks when I say that now, but it's true and I'll tell you why. I am now paying attention to every moment, looking for every opportunity to find joy and #SwitchOnTheSunshine. Yes, there are moments of pain and low energy, but I am doing what I like, spending time with people I love, and feeling very loved and happy. I am extremely grateful to my friends, my pillars of strength, who at a moment's notice, arrived to be with me and help me through this. 19. When JK Rowling mentioned in an interview that Albus Dumbledore is gay, two things happened. One, the LGBT section of the Harry Potter fandom started rejoicing because let's face it, it feels good to be included in the narrative, and two, a conspicuously homophobic section of the fandom let their displeasure known. Now, it feels rather odd that a section of the HP fandom will even qualify as homophobic, because tolerance is one of the most important lessons one gets to learn after having read the series, but it's not an ideal world after all. © Twitter Also, business doesn't run on morality, or what is right and what is wrong, and rightfully so - a small bit of statistics will prove that. 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' had earned $86M and $22M in China and Russia, respectively, and it's only supposed to go up from there. So, when Warner Bros had indicated that there won't be any explicit mention of Dumbledore's sexual orientation in 'Crimes of Grindelwald', they wanted to make sure that the movie doesn't get banned in either of those two countries, or anywhere else for that matter (India isn't the best place either, unfortunately, when it comes to LGBT content on the big screen). © Twitter Coming to whether they actually explore Dumbledore's sexuality or his feelings towards Grindelwald, there is a scene in the trailer that tells us, all too obviously, that they do in fact do that, while shedding sufficient light on that topic. Yes, the depiction is complicated and multilayered, just like the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. © Twitter While true-blue Potterheads must have noticed it immediately, here is a little bit of explanation for those who aren't obsessed with the series. A bit of background, first. Remember the Mirror of Erised? The same mirror that Harry stumbled into, and could see his parents in? The Mirror of Erised shows the 'deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts'. 'Erised', reversed, is 'Desire'. Harry, who grew up in an abusive household without his parents, wanted nothing more than a normal childhood with his parents by his side. Naturally, that is what he saw in the mirror. © Twitter In the books, it was always a mystery as to what Dumbledore saw when he looked in the mirror, despite what he said. In the trailer, there is a moment where we all can see a young Dumbledore mournfully looking into the mirror, and seeing Grindelwald. If that is not proof enough, we don't know what is. According to some people, it might be Dumbledore wanting to capture his best friend who turned into the biggest dark wizard of that time, but that again is layered. Everything said and done, the former explanation seems to echo more with the fans' sentiments, not to mention a more logical explanation. © YouTube Speculations aside, all we can say is that we can't wait for the movie, because it's going to be an awesome watch if they give it the same treatment that was given to the first movie in the Fantastic Beasts series.

Many were quick to suggest that the former Indian captain was surely past his prime. There were even rumours that he might call time on his international career. But, that's nothing new for MSD.
