  1. If you have seen Anurag Basu’s Ludo, you would have an idea about his love for absurdism in cinema. He infused the idea of existentialism with absurdism to showcase four stories that are interwoven with each other. Ludo is a genre-blending movie and every character has a story to tell. It’s not an easy task to have all genres in one movie, get so many actors on board and then execute it to perfection. The movie stars Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur, Rohit Saraf, Fatima Sana Sheik, and Sanya Malhotra as the lead characters. The movie was appreciated by critics and viewers alike but days after the release, the director has got into trouble as a certain section of people decided to drag him into a controversy targeting him and calling him ‘Hinduphobic’. If you have seen the movie, you might have noticed Rajkummar Rao as a part of a modern Ram-Leela which was a sarcastic take on several things happening around us. The scene features Rajkummar as Ravana’s sister Surpanakha and her encounter with Lord Rama. Here’s the scene that is being criticized: Use of Abusive Language while showing a scene from Ramayan..! Rajkumar Rao who is playing Surkpnakha is seen abusing in scene..! This is defaming of Holy Scripture Ramayan..!@Av_ADH#Hinduphobic_AnuragBasu pic.twitter.com/Xv9ht86BMk — Harshad Dhamale™ 🇮🇳 (@iDivineArjuna) November 27, 2020 As soon as this reaction and the video got viral, people started bashing Anurag Basu left, right, and center and started to trend #Hinduphobic_AnuragBasu. Here are the reactions: #Hinduphobic_AnuragBasu WHAT THE **** IS WRONG?! I swear if I could, these shits would be out of my holy land right at this moment. Yes, Bharat is intolerant against the abuses, misinterpretations and mocking of the Hindu culture. #intolerantindia https://t.co/SQv3nIgyxi — शूर सनातनी (@shoorsanatani) November 27, 2020#Hinduphobic_AnuragBasu#BanNetflix Wake up ! Boycott such movies so that film producer next time may think twice before doing such movies. — Jitendra Rathi (@Jitendr39805802) November 27, 2020Do you think it’s valid to target Anurag Basu in such a way? We call it creative liberty and as a storyteller, you do need a space wherein you can tell your story without any judgments. With OTT platforms, directors and filmmakers did get that space to experiment and we hope they continue doing so without any biases. Before attacking the film or the particular scene, it’s better to understand the vision or the context behind it. What do you think about this fiasco? Let us know in the comments section below. 5. POCO is all set to launch its new phone, the POCO M3. We already got our first look at the phone last week and it looks like the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk Edition phone. It's an interesting design decision but we'll reserve our judgments for later. The company will be hosting an event to launch the phone tomorrow but they've already revealed some key specs of the phone. According to POCO, the M3 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 662 processor and it'll have a 6,000 mAh battery inside. In addition to that, the company has also revealed the phone will sport a 6.53-inch display on the front and it'll have a triple camera setup at the back. The official teasers are also in-line with what POCO has revealed. #POCOM3 POP QUIZ What does 662 stand for? A. The number of days you have been in love with POCO. B. The type of processor you get with POCO M3. The POCO M3 will also be running Android 10-based MIUI 12 out of the box. Everything you expected but MORE! POCO M3 is here!#POCOM3 Is #MoreThanYouExpect pic.twitter.com/bioDpmb6wi — POCO (@POCOGlobal) November 22, 2020 As for the optics, the triple camera setup is said to include a 48-megapixel primary sensor as well. In case you're wondering, here's what the POCO M3 looks like - © POCO As you can see, the design resembles the OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk Edition. The camera module looks identical but has 'POCO' branding instead of 'Cyberpunk 2077' branding. The POCO M3 will be unveiled tomorrow and we'll know everything about the device very soon. For now, it certainly looks promising but it remains to be seen if/when it'll come to India and at what price. View the full article

  7. Apple's new M1 chip-powered MacBooks are looking very promising in terms of performance. We haven't had a chance to use one yet but we're very good things about them so far. The new MacBooks can also run any iOS apps that you may have purchased or downloaded on your iPhone or iPad. It's not easy to get all these apps working and you'll have to follow a bunch of steps before you get it running. That being said, it's totally doable and works well with most apps. © YouTube/The Everyday Dad To get them running, you need to get the app files, which are simply packages with the IPA extension. These files also need to be associated with your Apple ID, so you can't just share them around. You'll be using a Mac app called iMazing to directly download purchased IPA files to your Mac. Simply double click them and they install into your applications folder like any other app so long as your Mac and iPhone are on the same Apple ID. Here's the step by step process that we were able to find on Reddit - · Plug-in device to Mac with iMazing running · Select “Apps" for the iPhone plugged into your Mac · Select “Manage Apps” in the tabs at the bottom · Select “Library” in the manage apps screen · Download the apps you want · Right-click on the downloaded app in the list -> Export IPA · Double-click the .ipa file on an M1 Mac to run install it. © Apple It's worth pointing out that a lot of these apps are still not ready to run on macOS, so do expect some inconsistencies. Some of them may not work as intended while others may completely refuse to even work. We think it's still worth a try because, why not? View the full article
  8. Bollywood’s ace director Prakash Jha is known for his fearless and bold depiction of the Indian heartland. From Gangajal to Rajneeti, his movies are laced with intriguing plotlines that open our eyes to the murky underbelly of our so-called civilized society. Prakash Jha’s debut on the digital landscape with Aashram is no different from his presence on the silver screen. Earlier this year, Aashram opened to rave reviews on the free streaming platform MX Player and ever since, it’s been an upward journey for the series. MX Original Series Aashram Chapter 2 was released a few days back and the buzz hasn’t stopped. Starring Bobby Deol as the cunning Godman Kashipur Wale Baba Nirala, Aashram is everything that we hoped it would be – bold, fearless, direct, and eye-opening. If that wasn’t enough, the show focuses on not just one vice but multiple issues that Indians have been plagued with over the years. Here are some bold and vicious issues that make the show an applause-worthy success: Drugs and Addiction MX Player It’s no secret that there is a huge drug racket brimming in the corners of our society. Aashram Chapter 2 puts the spotlight on the supply of these drugs. On one hand, we see drug-laced ladoos entering the aashram and being served as prasad, on the other hand, Baba Nirala sets up a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts. The irony is strong and these pompous Godmen are at the centre of this conflict. Exploitation and Abuse MX Player Aashram Chapter 2 has a refreshingly-real and raw depiction of how blind faith can lead to exploitation and abuse. The series puts forth this very message through the character of Babita, a former *** worker who was been rehabilitated and welcomed into society by the unrelenting Godman Baba Nirala. Little did she know that her troubles have just begun.Dirty Politics and Blind Faith MX Player Ever wondered where do these Godmen get so much money from? Aashram Chapter 2 gives you the answers. This fictional tale of Baba Nirala is too close to reality as we see the convergence of blind faith and politics. Capturing a vote bank is all that matters and faith is just the easy mean to achieve it. Caste Difference MX Player Right from its first episode, Aashram focuses heavily on the class divide that has plagued India. Aashram Chapter 2 continues to bring this issue to the front by highlighting the divide in resources and opportunities that the two different sects of society receive. The central character of the series, Pammi belongs to a lower caste and her struggle to fulfill her dreams resonates with millions of people in our society. Aashram has proved to be a stunning and memorable debut for filmmaker Prakash Jha. If you haven’t watched the series yet, you can start streaming it on MX Player, for free. View the full article
  9. According to a few reports, it looks like some Xiaomi and Poco phone users are facing bootup issues on their devices. The devices are showing a weird message that reads "Find device closed unexpectedly" and eventually reboots. And on top of that, this seems to be happening repeatedly, which is quite annoying, to say the least. Although the exact reason for this is unknown, some users have suggested that the glitch was caused after Airtel Thanks App got a new update. Looks like the new version of the app has some issue with MIUI's Find My Device settings. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer From what we know so far, it looks like the Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Poco M2 Pro users are facing the issue. Xiaomi has also acknowledged the issue and said they're working with Airtel to fix the problem. However, the company did not disclose the exact reason for the current issue. "While we are working on fixing the issue with the App developer and rollout out a permanent update by early next week, we have put temporary containment measures in place, over the last 36 hours. This fix may need consumers to get their devices at a service center", Xiaomi said in an official statement. Airtel also responded with the company’s Global CIO Harmeen Mehta sharing a post on Twitter. Check it out - Some @airtelindia customers are experiencing phone crashes on MI phones. We have worked with Xaomi to find the cause & they are preparing a fix. Meanwhile we have put a small tweak in the airtel #Thanksapp to help. Please open the app once to effect new settings. #HappyDiwali2020 — Harmeen Mehta (@HarmeenM) November 14, 2020 As of now, we don't have any word on the update's rollout. We'll keep an eye on this issue and update here when we have more info. View the full article

  12. Over the past couple of years, the Indian streets have had a makeover. Don’t get me wrong -- neither have our roads changed nor the exhausting traffic, but the one thing that’s changed is the dawn of the SUV era on the Indian roads. Just one quick look at the cars around you and you’ll realize that gone are the days of a classic sedan, the new mean machine that everyone wants is an SUV. What brought about this change? For starters, we believe it’s the fact that there are extensive options and varieties in the market. But despite an array of SUVs to choose from, the Indian consumer is zooming in on the Vitara Brezza, raking in sales of over 5.5 Lakhs! So what makes Brezza the best buy? Here’s what we think: A True Blue SUVRight from its conceptualization, the Vitara Brezza was designed to be an SUV from the ground up. With an overall height of 1790mm and a wheelbase of 1640mm, the 1130kg weighing Brezza is a sturdy SUV that zooms comfortably on the city roads as well as the tough terrain. It also boasts of a powerful 1462 CC engine with a 5 MT fuel efficiency and 4 Torque. Maruti Suzuki’s Brezza shares its Tect platform with its sister concern NEXA S-Cross, a much larger vehicle. This gives the butch SUV a bigger, bolder stance in the market. Sporty ExteriorsBrezza amps up the sport quotient with its wicked exteriors that give the car a more defined and sturdy look. With a floating roof design, alloy wheels, and a dual-tone exterior, Brezza creates a lasting and premium first impression. The side turn indicators are mounted on the side-rear view mirrors that come with an electronic folding mechanism. The car comes with a coloured bumper and a chrome grille to finish the sporty look. Wicked Comfort & InteriorsJust like its exteriors, Brezza makes the ride worth it with its comfortable and cozy interiors. The back seats have ample leg space making a long drive comfortable for the entire family. Brezza has a chrome black finish in the interiors along with a top-notch touchscreen infotainment system that also helps you sync the navigation. Adding to the easy-access entertainment console, the steering wheel comes complete with quick access buttons for the driver's comfort. Focus On Safety FirstJust like Maruti Suzuki’s other cars, this True Blue SUV comes with enhanced safety measures that include Dual Airbags, Reverse Parking Sensors and Camera, Anti-Theft Security, High-Speed Alert, Central and Child-proof locking system. Brand Legacy & After-Sales ServiceNothing works better in a brand's favour than its legendary history in the country. Over the years, Maruti Suzuki has set a trustworthy impression on the consumers in India. From easy access to spare parts to affordable after-sales service, the brand's legacy is making Brezza the best and go-to pick in the SUV segment. We’re convinced that Brezza’s ride to the top of the SUV segment is worth the brouhaha. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below. View the full article

It goes head-to-head with a lot of apps out there that cost you a sum of money to unlock features that are available for free on Snapseed. Easy-To-Use InterfacePhoto editing can be a tiring task by itself and the last you would want is to use something that makes things harder than they should be. Well, Snapseed will not disappoint you in this regard because we think it has a great interface. To edit your image, Snapseed won't make you fiddle with a bunch of sliders and dials. Instead, you'll find yourself just dragging your finger left or right to apply an edit. Selecting the type of edit can also be done by simply swiping up or down. The app is also presented in a full-screen view and we think it's perfect because you get to see all your edits without UI elements obstructing your way. Powerful Editing ToolsSnapseed also offers a ton of powerful editing tools that are not present in most photo editing apps. You make certain areas of your image pop with high saturation, transform your images by filling in the gaps, or even extending the image with the help of AI, and more. View the full article

  19. Akshay Kumar's movie Laxmii, which was earlier called Laxmmi Bomb, has been in troubled waters for a while now. Several political groups and organizations have stated that the film’s title is an insult to Hindu religion. As per the notice by Karni Sena, the movie is being considered “derogatory” and “offensive” to Goddess Laxmi by the Hindu community. It further claimed that the makers had “deliberately” used the title Laxmmi Bomb with the sole purpose of lowering the “dignity” of and to show “disrespect” towards the goddess. View this post on Instagram Taking that into the consideration, the makers decided to change the name, thinking this will address the situation as people were very annoyed with it. Recently, however, after the song Bambholle was released, many people objected to it alleging that it disrespected Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Well, it seems like the troubles are not going to end anytime soon as today #Ban_Laxmmi_Movie has been trending on Twitter. According to people, just changing the title only solves half of the issue and they are now blaming the movie for promoting Love Jihad. #Ban_Laxmmi_Movie@akshaykumar Changing name from LAXMI Bomb to LAXMI is just half work done what about removing Asif and Priya love story which pramotes Love Jihad... pic.twitter.com/VJsbOfaz9V — Aparna Naik (@AparnaNaik10) November 5, 2020#Ban_Laxmmi_Movie@akshaykumar Changing name from LAXMI Bomb to LAXMI is just half work done what about removing Asif and Priya love story which pramotes Love Jihad... pic.twitter.com/VJsbOfaz9V — Aparna Naik (@AparnaNaik10) November 5, 2020#Ban_Laxmmi_Movie Ban the film ‘Laxmii’, which promotes ‘Love jihad’ and deliberately hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus pic.twitter.com/QAeMsGLZJO — Prakruthi Ramesh (@Prakruthi_44) November 5, 2020Signature Campaign : Ban the film ‘Laxmii’, which promotes ‘Love jihad’ and deliberately hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus https://t.co/4a3TDf2FhX#Ban_Laxmmi_Movie @JoshiPranita3 @mrunali_dharme — Pratiksha Joshi (@pratiksha3009) November 5, 2020In Upcoming #Laxmmi_Movie highly intolerable is That the name of the male actor is Muslim and the actress is Hindu Which is Directly promoting #love_jihad ! 20. WhatsApp said on Twitter it has 'made it easy to review, bulk delete items and free up space'
  21. WhatsApp has released a bevy of features in the last few months and it looks like we're getting more. If the reports are something to go by, then it looks like WhatsApp will soon be releasing a new feature that'll allow its users to send messages that disappear after some time. This new feature is said to be in the works and it is expected to arrive in the next few days. It has been explained by WhatsApp in a new FAQ page on its website. "You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by enabling disappearing messages. Once enabled, new messages sent in the individual or group chat will disappear after seven days," the page says. © Reuters WhatsApp isn't the first chat app to enable disappearing messages. We already have a ton of apps that does it. Snapchat, for instance, is one of them. At times, this feature comes super handy, although we doubt if it'll be used by a lot of people often. It's also worth pointing out that we're not sure if we get to set the time for which the message will be visible or is it something that's fixed. That being said, WhatsApp did specify that a message will not disappear after a set period of time if it is forwarded to a chat with the disappearing message disabled. © Reuters Although the feature isn't available yet, WhatsApp has made it a point to explain how it works. To send a disappearing message, all you have to do is tap on the contact's name and select the disappearing message option. You'll then be able to toggle the option there.
