  4. Call Of Duty: Warzone is literally taking the world by storm right now. It's the hottest new battle royale title to attract millions of players worldwide just in its honeymoon phase. Yesterday, the developers revealed that the game had managed to hit 15 million players worldwide. Now, that's an insane number because it hasn't even been that long since it came out. Heck, it hasn't even been that long since people knew that it existed. Activision managed to keep the game under the curtain for a long time. They revealed the game just a day before the release. We crossed 15 million players earlier today, thank you #Warzone fans. #FreeCallofDuty pic.twitter.com/6Xw7MyFk2C â Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) March 14, 2020Honestly, nobody knew that it even existed until 4 days back. And now, it already has 15 million players playing it worldwide. That's more than double the 6 million who'd started playing it in the first 24 hours. Just to put things into perspective, Respawn's Apex Legends was up to 10 million players in its first three days. And Fortnite, on the other hand, took weeks to get attract 10 million players. Obviously, the number will go down over the days, as it did for Apex too. © Activision After all, not all games can get a steady source of traffic and build a following so quickly. It's just a matter of time when the hype goes down. COD Warzone will have truly made it the day it achieves Fortnite's level of popularity and relevance in the world. It's highly unlikely, but we bet Activision will do anything in its power to achieve some crazy numbers. View the full article

  6. Ever since the makers of Angrezi Medium announced that Irrfan Khan will make a comeback on the big screen, his fans have been eagerly waiting for the movie to release in the theatres. The story is about a single father who is ready to go to any extent to make sure his daughter Tarika (Radhika Madam) gets to fulfil her dream of studying at an esteemed university in London. Well, the movie has finally released and the audience verdict is also out and the reactions are surprisingly mixed. Trade analyst Girish Johar told Zoom, âIt is a big blow to the film industry as Delhi is among the key markets for Hindi films. It is a big revenue loss for sure. The makers of Angrezi Medium have gone ahead with the nationwide release except in Delhi, Kerala and Jammu & Kashmir. I am expecting the film to lose out on 30 to 40 per cent business because of the fractured release.â For those who arenât able to see the movie, you will have to wait until the theatres are back in action. 9. Ayushmann Khurrana is the only man who has never let us down with his movies, and it's safe to assume he never will. The guy gives back-to-back hits, a great performance after another, and hopefully, his streak will continue throughout his career. His latest release is no different; it's a shubh mangal day for Ayushmann as his movie Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is already being considered a hit online. That's what happens when you're unproblematic and do incredible movies, everyone should take notes, tbh. As everyone knows, the plot of the movie is about same-*** marriages and it can be a tricky topic to approach since it can get problematic very quickly, if not portrayed well. But, going by the reviews, looks like director Hitesh Kewalya managed to perfectly bring a romance to life and gave an important message about family and love. #ShubhMangalZyaadaSaavdhan the steak continues for @ayushmannk he has tat Midas touch, brilliant acting n story captures today's issue n tackles it,hats off to everyone #ShubhMangalZyadaSavdhaan is a hit, #ayushmanbhava Another feather in his success. pic.twitter.com/PwftsIpG7o â ZeA (@nitecrawlerz) February 21, 2020Isn't that a good thing? #ShubhMangalZyadaSaavdhan interval: I am dead laughing . â badal: the cloud ï¸ (@badal_bnftv) February 21, 2020That's saying a lot. .@ayushmannk #ShubhMangalZyadaSaavdhan is fantastic so far. 10. Elon Musk is known to be very frank, honest and sometimes witty and thereâs no denying that he likes to take a few digs at rivals and competitors as well. And now, he has tweeted a dig at WhatsApp. Tesla CEO thinks that the popular messaging app WhatsApp is not great at security and prone to hacks. Musk tweeted a meme highlighting a new emoji that indicates the messaging app comes with a âfree phone hack.â New emoji! Last one comes with free phone hack. pic.twitter.com/T3jjwZycog â Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 6, 2020 Facebook's security advisory had also explained the issue and said, "A vulnerability in WhatsApp Desktop when paired with WhatsApp for iPhone allows cross-site scripting and local file reading. Exploiting the vulnerability requires the victim to click a link preview from a specially crafted text message.â © Reuters The âfree phone hack" is probably a dig at WhatsAppâs recent lapses in security. WhatsApp was in the news recently. Earlier this week, reports claimed that a WhatsApp bug would let hackers read files on a victimâs computer. Investigators believe that Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezosâ iPhone was hacked and compromised after he received a video on WhatsApp that fetched personal data. In a similar fashion, 1,400 journalists and human rights activists' phones were also broken into by Pegasus software from Israel-based NSO Group last year. View the full article
  11. Ever since 2004, the Saw series has been synonymous with torture-porn, grisly moral experiments and bringing R-Rated, no-holds barred violence back in vogue for horror fans across the globe. The series has gone on to become one of the genre's most successful franchises of all time. Off a collective budget of $77 million, the films have gone on to rake in nearly $1 billion at the box office, adjusted for inflation. That's not to say that things didn't go stale - after Saw 3D released in 2010, the series suffered a 7-year gap before Jigsaw, a reboot of sorts, which appealed primarily to longtime fans. With the 9th film, titled The Organ Donor under works, this begs the question - after 8 films, what does it take to make the series interesting again? According to comedian Chris Rock, the answer might be comedy. Speaking to IGN, Rock was quoted saying, “A lot of times I go to a movie or I watch a TV show and I go: 'Wow, you know, two jokes would have made a big difference in that.' I love Saw, but I was like: 'Wow, it has almost no humor at all”. There's a point to be made there. The series has always been clear and upfront about its intentions to revolt and simultaneously fascinate its audience with its elaborately designed death-traps, yet its characters seem to do little other than what is expected of them. Rock took this idea quite seriously, and penned down a story idea which he then pitched to Lionsgate Films. The studio approved of it immediately - “Completely reverential to the legacy of the material while reinvigorating the brand with his wit, creative vision and passion for this classic horror franchise,” commented Lionsgate CEO Joe Drake. That sounds good, doesn't it? It still pales in comparison to what the studio did next - in a move that no one saw coming, they managed to bring in someone we never expected to be part of the franchise - Samuel L. Jackson himself. The veteran actor is famous for portraying fearless badasses on screen - the kind of character the series was desperately missing, and which may pair well alongside Rock's comedic intentions. Rock will reportedly star as a police officer on the trail of a potentially new killer, with Samuel L. Jackson appearing as his father. While some longtime fans might be doubtful of jokes making it into an otherwise serious franchise, Rock suggests that on the edit table, things are still very much as Jigsaw would have it. “The new Saw, I've seen like a rough cut,” shared Rock. “It's still Saw… it's bloody, it's gory, but there's like a sprinkling of humor here and there. We're not revamping it, it's not Scary Movie, it's Saw.” Whatever happens, there will be blood. The film makes its way into cinemas on May 15, 2020. View the full article
  12. An image grab from footage obtained from the state-run Iran Press news agency on January 10, 2020 shows Iran´s civil aviation chief Ali Abedzadeh delivering a press statement in Tehran. Photo: AFP/ Ho/Iran PressTEHRAN: Iran's Civil Aviation Organisation chief Ali Abedzadeh said on Friday he was confident that a Ukrainian airliner which crashed after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport was not hit by a missile. "One thing is for certain, this airplane was not hit by a missile," Abedzadeh told a news conference in Tehran after Britain and Canada both said intelligence sources suggested a catastrophic error by Iranian air defence batteries had downed the aircraft. "The information in the black boxes ... is crucial for the aviation organisation to make a statement," Abedzadeh said, adding that they were intact and under examination. Also read: Iran says US suspecting Tehran shot Ukraine plane by mistake makes 'no sense' Dismissing allegations against Iran, he said that "any remarks made before the data is extracted ... is not an expert opinion." The statements from Britain and Canada came as video footage emerged that appeared to show the moment the airliner was hit. The footage, which The New York Times said it had verified, shows a fast-moving object rising to an angle into the sky before a flash is seen, which dims and then continues moving forward. Several seconds later an explosion is heard. "We have seen some videos. We confirm that the airplane was on fire for 60 to 70 seconds," Abedzadeh said. But "that it was hit by something cannot be scientifically correct," he added.

Photo: ReutersBAGHDAD: Two rockets crashed late Wednesday into Baghdad’s Green Zone, the high-security enclave where foreign embassies including the US mission are based, security sources told AFP. Just before midnight, AFP correspondents in Baghdad heard two loud blasts followed by the wailing security sirens of the Green Zone. The attack came nearly 24 hours after Tehran launched ballistic missiles at Iraqi bases housing American and other coalition forces, which did not cause casualties. The strikes were in retaliation for a US drone strike that killed top Iranian general Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis last week. Muhandis had been the deputy head of the Hashed al-Shaabi, a web of armed groups incorporated into the Iraqi state but which also have close ties to Tehran. Read also: Iran says it respects sovereignty of Iraq, a day after missiles launch The United States had accused Hashed groups of being behind a string of rocket attacks on the US embassy in Baghdad and bases hosting American troops across the country. On Wednesday, the Hashed’s hardline factions vowed they, too, would take revenge for the US raid. Paramilitary chief Qais al-Khazali — blacklisted as a "terrorist" by the US — said Iraq’s response to the US "will be no less than the size of the Iranian response." Harakat al-Nujaba, a hardline Hashed faction, vowed to avenge Muhandis. "To American soldiers: Do not close your eyes. Revenge for the martyr Muhandis is coming at the hands of Iraqis — until the last soldier among you leaves," it said. US has restored 'level of deterrence' on Iran: PentagonUS Defense Secretary Mark Esper on Wednesday said Washington had re-established some deterrence toward Iran in the wake of the January 3 drone strike that killed Soleimani. Esper also downplayed the firing of two rockets into Baghdad's fortified Green Zone late Wednesday, where the US and other foreign embassies are located and many US troops are based. Read also: Trump says Iran standing down, US 'ready to embrace peace' "We should have some expectation that the Shia groups, either directed or not directed by Iran, will continue in some way, shape or form to try and undermine our presence there, either politically or, you know, take some type of kinetic actions against us or do Lord-knows-what," Esper told reporters. Iran standing down, US 'ready to embrace peace': TrumpOn Wednesday US President Donald Trump offered peace to Iran, saying Tehran was "standing down" after missile strikes on US troop bases in Iraq that resulted in no American or Iraqi deaths. Trumps comments came as tensions between Washington and Tehran soared. Will strike 'resounding blow' if Israel is attacked: Netanyahu warns Iran Addressing a press conference at the White House, Trump said the targeted military bases suffered 'minimal damage' owing to "precautions and an early warning system" that helped save lives when the missiles were fired. "The American people should be happy. I am pleased to announce that no US soldiers were hurt in the attack last night by the Iran regime," he said. "Iran seems to be standing down which is good for all parties concerned and a very good thing for the world," he said. Photo: ReutersKARACHI: Gold prices hit an all-time high of Rs93,400/tola on Monday in Pakistan following tensions between United States and Iran, reported The News. Tehran and Washington are at loggerheads following the killing of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani last week in Baghdad disrupting various investment markets. Read more: Trump warns Iran of 'major retaliation', threatens sanctions on Iraq In the local market, gold moved up Rs2,600 or 2.86 per cent to Rs93,400/tola from Rs90,800/tola, according to the publication. President All Sindh Saraf Jewellers Association Haroon Chand said the Iran-US tension was the major cause behind the increase in prices of gold in the international market, while other reasons also contributed. Local jewellers claimed the price of 10-gram gold also moved up Rs2,230 to Rs80,075. In the international market, the prices of the yellow metal increased $26 to $1,578 per ounce, the highest in the last five months. Read also: Gold price reach record high of Rs90,800 “Whenever there is uncertainty and a war-like situation around the world, people invest in gold, which is considered a safe haven,” Chand said. He said there were other reasons as well besides Iran-US tension. “The US is not increasing interest rate, nor are there any new jobs being created, so the dollar is also weakening and people are moving towards gold as a mode of investment,” he added. Chand added the performance of the real estate market in the US also remained below than expectations in 2019, which was also moving investment towards gold. Given the situation, the trader said, gold was likely to take international market beyond $1,600 per ounce. Muhammad Shafi Khan, a senior goldsmith, told The News that the sale of jewellery had also declined considerably in the last week. “Only investors are buying pure gold bars for investment purpose, while jewellery sale is down,” Khan said. Khan said the international market was moving around $1,590 per ounce, while 95 per cent to 99 per cent local people had no means to buy gold. “Less than one per cent are coming to buy gold. They have no issue with the price and can afford gold, while 99 per cent of the people are going for artificial jewellery,” he said. The goldsmith added the two to three days would be crucial. “If tensions increase and war starts gold can go to an all-time high,” he said. In the past, gold in the international market once peaked to $1,938 per ounce. “If the situation calms down, it can go down $1,500 or below,” he said.
  15. England celebrate after Joe Denly dismissed Elgar. Photo: AFPSouth African opening batsman Dean Elgar insisted that he was "very confident" he should not have been given out on Monday during the second Test against England at Newlands. Elgar, who made 88 in the first innings, fell for 34 when he was given out caught behind by Jos Buttler off Joe Denly's occasional leg-spin, despite referring the decision. "I wouldn't waste a referral knowing that I've nicked it. I don't play cricket like that," the 32-year-old told Sky Sports. "I like to see myself as someone who takes their outs when they're definitely out. "It's a bit of an emotional time when those kind of things happen. Obviously I had to simmer down and watching the footage, I could still say that I haven't hit it." The left-hander pushed forward against Denly's delivery, with a faint 'spike' on UltraEdge enough for TV umpire Chris Gaffaney to uphold Paul Reiffel's on-field decision of out. South Africa closed the fourth day in Cape Town on 126-2 in pursuit of a world-record 438 for victory, with England needing eight more wickets on Tuesday to level the series at 1-1. "I'm going to reserve my comments because I don't want to get into trouble by the ICC, but as a player I can say that I'm very confident that I didn't nick it," added Elgar. "Sometimes you have those things go your way and sometimes you don't. "Unfortunately today, again I was feeling a million dollars, it just didn't work out for us. But saying that, we've still got guys in the shed." Elgar was England batsman Denly's first Test victim.

REUTERS/FilesBAGHDAD: Two rockets hit near the US embassy in Iraq's capital Sunday, witnesses told AFP, shortly after the deadline from a hardline pro-Iran faction for local troops to get away from US forces. The vehemently anti-American group, Kataeb Hezbollah, had warned Iraqi security forces to "get away" from US troops at joint bases across Iraq by 5PM (1400 GMT). Sunday's attack marks the 14th time rockets have been fired towards US installations in Iraq over the last two months.
  17. Photo: ReutersJAKARTA: Nine people died after Indonesia´s capital was hit by its deadliest flooding in years, authorities said Wednesday, as torrential rains on New Year´s Eve left vast swathes of the megalopolis submerged. Thousands were evacuated to temporary shelters as electricity was switched off in scores of waterlogged neighbourhoods across greater Jakarta, home to about 30 million people, with some train lines and one of the city´s airports also shut. Indonesia´s National Disaster Mitigation Agency called on residents to leave flood-hit areas. "The first priority is saving lives," said agency head Doni Monardo. A 16-year-old was electrocuted by a power line, while three more people died of hypothermia, according to the disaster agency. "My son´s body was covered with newspaper when my two other children passed by," said Fadrid, who identified himself as the dead teen´s father. "People asked them whether they knew the victim. If they hadn´t been passing by, we wouldn´t have known my son had been killed," he told AFP. Among the victims was an elderly couple trapped inside their home in a district where floodwaters reached as high as four metres (13 feet) after a river burst its banks. Another victim drowned while four people were killed after the Tuesday evening downpour triggered landslides in the city´s outskirts. "We have shut down power (in many areas) to avoid more electrical shocks," Ikhsan Asaad, an official at state firm PLN, told AFP. Asaad said he could not estimate how many residents had been affected by the power shutdown. "We´re currently focusing on taking measures to ensure people´s safety," he added. Angelina Widiyanti was among scores of residents whose houses were flooded with their possessions ruined by the disaster. "We´ve had flooding several times before but it was never this high," she said from her home, where the power had been cut. "We weren´t prepared for this." Authorities said about 19,000 people were evacuated, but that figure did not include residents in Jakarta´s satellite cities. "We´re evacuating people right now," Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan told reporters. "Everyone living near rivers should anticipate (more) flooding," he added. Images from across the region showed waterlogged homes and cars submerged in muddy floodwaters, while some people took to paddling in small rubber lifeboats or tyre inner-tubes to get around. The disaster marked Jakarta´s worst flooding since 2013 when several dozen people were killed when the city was inundated by monsoon rains. Jakarta is regularly hit by floods during Indonesia´s rainy season, which started in late November. On Wednesday, service at Halim Perdanakusuma airport, which handles commercial and military planes, was temporarily shut due to severe flooding on its runways, according to the transport ministry. Many flights were transferred to Jakarta´s main Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
  18. Photo: FileKARACHI: The metropolis' cold weather was expected to intensify in January 2020, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Director Sardar Sarfaraz said Monday. Karachi had recorded its lowest temperature — at 9.2°C — in the current winter season, he said. Prior to the current record, the city recorded its lowest at 9.5°C. Western winds were expected to enter Balochistan from Iran from January 3, likely bringing rain to both Balochistan and Sindh, he added. Record-breaking winter The current winter season is on a spree of breaking all previous records, as mercury in Peshawar dropped to a freezing -1°C after 36 years. Karachi, on the other hand, recorded its lowest (9.2°C), while Skardu reached a freezing -21°C. Educational institutions shut down Sindh’s education department was expected to increase the winter holidays after this week’s record-breaking temperatures, sources said. Talking about his character, Sunny in an interview said, “The bottom line of my character is that he is under-confident. He hesitates before talking to anyone. He is embarrassed about his hair, because of which he is not getting a girl. We had to crack the minute details of a person like that — how he reacts to a situation, how he deals with his students, and so on. Thankfully, we had a young team working on the film, including our writer (Danish J Singh). They helped me pull off the part convincingly.” Watch the trailer here: Are you planning to watch the movie? Let us know in the comments section below. View the full article
