  1. The Realme X is now confirmed to launch in China on May 15th, according to the company's Weibo account. OPPO's spin-off brand is also rumoured to launch a smartphone that will compete with Xiaomi's POCO F1 and will have specifications similar to the OnePlus 7. It's rumoured to be called the Realme X Pro and the company is expected to launch two smartphones i.e. the Realme X Pro, Realme X, and Realme X Youth Edition, which is essentially India's Realme 3 Pro. © Weibo/Realme In terms of specifications, the Realme X Pro is said to be powered by Qualcomm's latest chipset i.e. Snapdragon 855. It would be the company's first smartphone with the said chipset and is likely to compete with the Poco F1 and even the OnePlus 7. In terms of cameras, the Realme X Pro and probably Realme X are both said to have pop-up selfie cameras which were leaked earlier in a Weibo post. At the back, the Realme X is said to have a dual-camera setup and currently the Realme X Pro's camera specification is not known but could be similar. According to early render leaks, the Realme X and Realme X Pro both don't have a fingerprint sensor so we can assume it may be embedded underneath the front display. © Weibo The Realme X, on the other hand, comes with Qualcomm's brand new Snapdragon 730 chipset which was last month. The new chipset is said to improve the gaming experience, photography, and artificial intelligence (AI). Realme is expected to pair the mobile platform on its upcoming offering with three configurations: 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB. © MensXP The Realme X is rumoured to have a 3,680 mAh battery and will have support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging technology. VOOC 3.0 is said to have an output of 20W of power and will work similarly to OnePlus' Warp charge. Battery specifications for the Realme X Pro are not known yet however it would be similar to the Realme X. © TENAA In terms of display, apart from the in-display sensor, the Realme X is expected to feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel and will have a full-HD+ resolution. Both smartphones are expected to be announced at the launch event on May 15th in China and reports suggest that the Realme X Pro variant will be available to buy at a later date and will just be a simple announcement. The Realme X is expected to launch in China for RMB 1,599 (Rs 16,476) and RMB 1,999 (Rs 20,000) for the high-storage variant. Whether these smartphones will be launched in India remains to be seen and it would be interesting to see how the company would price the smartphone.
  2. May is going to be an exciting month for smartphone launches. Seriously, this month is going to be packed with launches from the likes of OnePlus, Nokia, and more. While all eyes are set to see what OnePlus is planning to debut, we've compiled a quick list of devices to show you what else to look forward to: 1. OnePlus 7 & OnePlus 7 Pro Get ready for the OnePlus 7 Series Get notified here - https://t.co/CMhGizTidZ pic.twitter.com/KQXRxfH4jd — OnePlus India (@OnePlus_IN) April 23, 2019 Alright, we pretty much know what to expect from OnePlus on the 14th of this month. We'll be seeing the new OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. That's, of course, unless the company has some surprise for us. The OnePlus 7 Series, in case you haven't heard, will have two phones - The OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. While the regular OnePlus 7 is expected to look more or less similar to the OnePlus 6T, the OnePlus 7 Pro is said to bring some major changes, at least in terms of the design. No doubt the phones will offer great value for the money, but we hope the cameras are improved. We're really hoping the cameras, at least on the OnePlus 7 Pro, will bring something new to the table. 2. Nokia 9 Pureview © YouTube HMD Global is going to debut the Nokia 9 with Penta-camera setup in India this month. This is one phone, which we're very excited mainly because of its cameras. It's an exciting time for smartphone camera enthusiasts, and we're hoping Nokia 9 to pull some major strings with its optics. Even if you ignore the Penta-camera setup, the Nokia 9 still looks like a great phone overall. It's powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor, sports a 5.99-inch P-OLED panel with support for HDR, and it looks beautiful with an all-glass design. Well, let's hope Nokia will get the pricing right in India. 3. Realme Phone (Unknown) © TENAA Realme just launched the new Realme 3 Pro in India, and it looks like it's already gearing to launch another device. This time, however, it looks like we'll be seeing a flagship phone. That's right, an unknown Realme phone running on Snapdragon 855 chipset has been leaked online. We still don't know much about this phone, but it appears as though the phone will also debut in China, as the company has just announced its expansion in the country. Of course, there's no way to tell if the phone will debut in India, but we really hope it does as it'll be interesting to see how it does against the likes of the upcoming Poco F2 and more. 4. Nubia Red Magic 3 © Nubia Yes, Nubia's insane gaming phone with an in-built cooling fan is coming to India this month. We don't know about the pricing, but the Nubia Red Magic 3 is expected to make waves in the market since it'll be one of the fastest phones at launch right alongside the OnePlus 7 series. In case you're wondering, the Nubia Red Magic 3 is powered by Snapdragon 855 processor, packs up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It also has a 48MP camera at the back and there are shoulder buttons for an immersive gaming experience. If Nubia manages to get the pricing right, it has a real shot of tapping into the gaming phone market in India.
  3. Google's Pixel 3a and 3a XL have long been rumoured to launch and it seems like the search engine giant is all set to be unveiled at Google I/O on May 7th. Flipkart, on the other hand, posted artwork that basically said, “Something big is coming to the Pixel universe” on May 8th. It can now be confirmed that Google's new mid-budget Pixel device will launch in India on May 8th. © Flipkart Last month, Google accidentally revealed the launch date of its new device which said “On May 7, meet a new hero”, the same date Google's 2019 I/O event is set to take place. Previous leaks have shown us the rumoured smartphone with an additional purple variant alongside the classic black and white variant. An image of the said smartphone was leaked online by Twitter tipster Evan Blass. © Twitter/EvLeaks The Pixel 3a/3a XL is expected to offer similar camera performance as the more expensive flagship counterpart. The primary shooter is rumoured to be a 12.2-MP sensor, while the front-facing camera has an 8-MP sensor. In fact, this may just be Google's most successful device in India, thanks to its lower price. The camera is said to have some of the AI features similar to the Pixel 3. © Twitter The smartphone is rumoured to be powered by Qualcomm's 670 processor. In terms of RAM, the processor will be paired with 4G of RAM and have 32GB/64GB storage options. In terms of display, the Pixel 3a/ 3a XL is expected to have a 5.6-inches 1080p (FHD+) panel, however, it is not known whether it is an LCD or an AMOLED panel. In terms of battery, the Pixel 3a /3a XL is rumoured to have a 3,000 mAh battery capacity. The Pixel 3a is expected to start at Rs. 33,590, however, we can only be sure once the smartphone is officially revealed in a few days.
  4. Apple has already launched an updated version of AirPods, however, new reports suggest that another version is all set to launch later this year. The report also suggests some upgrades that have been expected for a while. © MensXP The next-generation of AirPods are said to have active noise cancellation and may launch before the end of this year. The minor update on the new AirPods comes with a new H1 Chip that lets users launch Siri by simply saying 'Hey Siri'. We can be sure that the next-gen AirPods are expected to come with a similar chip. According to the report by Digitimes, sources in supply chain say that the new AirPods will offer a better audio experience for customers who don't mind paying a premium. The new AirPods are not said to replace the current generation of wireless earbuds but may just be another offering in Apple's audio portfolio. © Unsplash If the rumours are true, the new noise-cancelling AirPods will be more expensive than the current models. Active Noise Cancellation feature generally adds to the cost and rivals like the Sony WF-1000X is also priced higher. This is not the first time we've heard about noise-cancelling AirPods as rumours have been floating around for a while. Previous rumours have suggested that the new AirPods will come with heart rate and body temperature tracking along with other health tracking features. Other rumours suggest that the new AirPods will also come in a black variant which we really want to come true. Needless to say, these rumours cannot be verified until the new AirPods are officially launched by Apple. Having said that, the rumours about noise-cancelling AirPods have been consistent with previous reports. Source: Digitime
  5. PUBG is, without a doubt, one of the most popular battle royale titles of all time. Well, the game developer PUBG Corp. just proved its worth by reporting $920 million in revenue in its first full year since the 1.0 launch, which roughly translates to nearly Rs 6,400 crores. Not just revenue, PUBG Corp. also saw huge profits of a whopping $310 million (roughly Rs 2,143 cr). That's an insane figure considering the fact that these numbers were achieved in just a year. Seriously, just imagine how many chicken dinners you could buy! © PUBG Corp. PUBG was apparently most popular in Asia, and it looks like over 50-percent of the game's revenue came from that region. North America and Europe were other big contributors to PUBG Corp's revenues. These numbers, in case you are wondering, came via VG247, and the report noted that the PC version of the game earned the developer $790 million (roughly Rs 5,400 cr) in 2019. Surprisingly, the numbers from the console and mobile versions of the game were similar. © PUBG Corp. We're looking at about $60 million and $64 million for console and mobile, respectively. It's, however, worth noting that PUBG Mobile is developed by Tencent Games, and it's likely to be cashing in the most from the mobile port of the game.
  6. OnePlus has officially confirmed the launch date of its next smartphone and in all likelihood, it will be called the OnePlus 7. There's a good chance that the company will launch multiple devices; one rumoured being the OnePlus 7 Pro. The new smartphones will be unveiled on 14th May in three different countries at the same time — including India. © Weibo The events are going to be held in three cities i.e. New York, London and Bangalore and will start at 8:15 PM IST. OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 7 Pro has leaked in the past and here's what we know so far. © Twitter Just a few days ago Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus said that the next smartphone will have a huge focus on the the display of the device. This probably means that the OnePlus 7 or the OnePlus 7 Pro will have a high quality screen on their devices. According to rumours, the OnePlus 7 Pro is going to have a QHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED display and will be as expensive as flagship devices. Pete Lau spoke to our sister website, the Economic Times and said: “To provide consumers more choice and meet the needs of a broader audience, we've changed our launch strategy, but our commitment to premium products and experiences remains the same.” In terms of other specifications, the OnePlus 7 will have a significant upgrade over the OnePlus 6 as it will ship with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 and will be paired with 8 to 10 GB of RAM. © Twitter The OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to have 12GB of RAM which may be a bit of an overkill. There's also a good chance that the Pro variant will have a pop-up selfie camera and a full-view display as the company decides to ditch the notch design from the OnePlus 6T.
  7. We've all been wondering when the next instalment of 'The Last Of Us' will launch ever since it was announced at E3 last year. According to a leak by a European retailer ProGamingShop, it looks like the game is set to launch later this year. The game will be an exclusive game to the PlayStation 4 and possible PlayStation 5, similar to the original game when it was first launched on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. © Sony The release date for the “The Last Of Us Part II” is rumoured to be September 27th, 2019 if this leak is to be believed. It's a Friday and is one the most common days for big AAA titles to release. As of now, Sony does not have any big blockbuster games scheduled for fall 2019 and this leak would make complete sense. However, a recent report suggested that developer Naughty Dog, had recently wrapped up motion capture work on the game and launch in September seems unlikely. The general assumption is that The Last of Us Part II will launch in 2020. Having said that, the motion capture work could be re-shots or the final phase of production as the game has been in development for a while. When The Last Of Us was released in June 2013, it came out closer to the launch date go the PS4 which resulted in good sale numbers on both platforms. It is possible that Sony will replicate the same formula as the new console is about to launch very soon We've already confirmed a few specifications of the new PlayStation 5 and it seems the launch of the console is very close. It would be possible that Sony would want to replicate the same success for this and next-gen consoles as well. Source: ProGamingShop
  8. We've seen quite a few impressive smartphones launched in the past; however, one of the most anticipated smartphones is around the corner. The leaks so far suggest a radical new design for the OnePlus 7 and if the leaks are correct, we will probably see at least two different models from the Chinese company. Just like every forthcoming OnePlus launch, the smartphone gets leaked and we get to know almost every specification possible. The OnePlus 7 is rumoured to have Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6GB, 8GB and 10GB RAM configurations. The device is also expected to have an FHD+ resolution display which will please many video content consumers. © Twitter, Slashleaks Other details that have leaked before suggest that the OnePlus 7 will have a few extra design changes this year. The rumours suggest that the OnePlus 7 will have a popup selfie camera similar to what we have seen in Vivo devices. The move comes to provide a seamless bezel-less experience on the smartphone. © Weibo Last week, new leak surfaced that suggests that there will be another OnePlus 7 device that will come with the X50 model for 5G connectivity. The device is said to be called the OnePlus 7 Pro and you can read all about it here. The OnePlus 7 Pro is also expected to have 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage if this leak turns out to be true. Previous reports have suggested that the smartphone will have a triple camera set up at the back and a sliding or pop-up selfie camera. The latest leak about the OnePlus 7 is to do with its launch date. According to tipster Ishan Aggarwal, the OnePlus 7 launch date is going to be May 14th, in China. We can expect the device to launch in India soon after. Having said that, the source does have a great track record when it comes to leaks but we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt for now.
  9. It's been long rumoured that Google is expected to launch cheaper versions of the Pixel 3 and the name of the new smartphone may have accidentally been revealed by the search engine giant. These smartphones have been referred to as Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite. However, there are new indications that these phones will be called Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. © 9t05Google The listing on the Google Play Store confirmed that the smaller Pixel 3a will have a 5.6-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. The larger XL variant is said to have a 6-inch display and have a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. In terms of RAM configuration, both smartphones are said to have 4GB of RAM. Other specs include Android 9 Pie, Snapdragon 670,12-megapixel rear camera, and 3,000 mAh battery. Earlier last week, 9to5Google noticed that Google accidentally made the page for the two rumoured phones live on the Google Store. This is indicative that the Pixel 3a may launch very soon as Google is gearing up for the impending launch. The two phones were bestowed the code name “sargo” and “bonito” respectively and both names were references in the first Android Q beta release. © Twitter Are excited about a cheaper Pixel smartphone? Do you think it will take advantage of Google's computational photography? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Source: XDA Developers, 9to5Google
  10. The 2019 iPhone and rumours surrounding the device have now escalated, which has brought us new information about its features. Some may be true and some may not be a part of the final product. That's something we can never be sure of as rumours tend to be unreliable. Having said that, there are some rumours that keep popping up and eventually turn out to be true when the device eventually launches. Apple generally launches a new iPhone every year at its September hardware event and we decided to list down some of the features that may just come to the future iPhone: 1. Reverse Wireless Charging © Twitter Apple recently announced a new wireless charging case for AirPods and with the recent cancellation of the AirPower, we can expect the next iPhone to support some sort of bilateral wireless charging. Currently, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S10 offers this feature and can be used to charge other Qi-enabled devices. Samsung made the best use of this feature by letting the smartphone charge the new Galaxy Buds. 2. Triple Rear Camera© Twitter_Evenleaks We first saw a triple camera set up on the next iPhone in the form of a render way back in January and it seems like a recent schematic leak may have confirmed that claim. Schematics of the next shows the metal chassis of the phone which may be used for welding of the body. The rear cutout for the camera system is the most stand-out feature where there are three circular cut-outs for the camera lenses. If you want to know more, you can read all about it here. 3. A Smaller Notch © Akshay Bhalla_MensXP Currently, iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and X use a notch on its display that hosts an array of sensors for FaceID. This allows the smartphone to map a user's face and unlock the smartphone based on the person's facial features. AMS, the Austrian company which provides Apple with optical sensors for the TrueDepth camera has developed a new sensor that can trace ambient light from behind an OLED screen. It also has a proximity sensor which is currently housed in the notch of the iPhone. There is a possibility than iPhones may now have a smaller notch as some of these sensors can now be embedded in the screen. Having said that, Apple still needs to put a selfie camera on the front which may be under a smaller notch. There's no certainty whether Apple will implement the new sensors in the 2019 iPhone however we are keeping our fingers crossed. 4. Bigger Battery © YouTube Currently, the iPhone XS features a 2,658mAh battery while the larger iPhone XS Max has a 3,175 mAh battery. The cheaper iPhone XR has a battery size of 2,942 mAh. That's not a lot if Apple is considering to utilise the reverse wireless charging feature. According to reliable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will be increasing the size of its batteries on all models of iPhones this year. This, in turn, will enable the iPhone to have enough juice to charge other devices like the new AirPods.
  11. It has been a couple of years since Apple has launched a 'small' iPhone. The last small and compact phone from the company was the iPhone SE that came out all the way back in 2016. Well, if the new report is something to go by, then it looks like Apple might finally launch a compact iPhone next year. According to DigiTimes, Apple is readying new iPhones for 2020 with display sizes - 5.43-inch, 6.06-inch, and 6.67-inch. Looks like the company will be sourcing the displays from Samsung or LG. The current lineup, in case you're wondering, has display sizes of 5.8-inch (iPhone XS), 6.1-inch (iPhone XR), and 6.5-inch (iPhone XS Max). So, if it turns out to be true, Apple will reduce the size of the smallest model while increasing the size of the biggest model. © Unsplash We're not entirely sure as to what Apple is planning to call these new iPhones, though. But if we were to guess, then the smallest iPhone would be called iPhone SE2, which has been passing the rumour mill for quite some time now. But again, that raises questions about the names of other iPhones, so your guess is as good as ours, really.
  12. Salman Khan is something like a Godfather to not so starry star-kids and aspiring actors in Bollywood. Over the years Salman has presented the Hindi film industry with numerous newbies by launching them, and by his own admission, he has no plans of stopping anytime soon. As 'Notebook' hits the theatres today, it also marks the debut film of yesteryear actress Nutan's granddaughter and actor Mohnish Bahl's daughter Pranutan, as well as Salman's friend Iqbal's son, Zaheer. View this post on Instagram Bina mile kabhi pyaar ho sakta hai? Introducing @pranutan & @iamzahero in this unique love story directed by @nitinrkakkar. #Notebook, releasing 29th March 2019, trailer out on 17th Feb. @SKFilmsOfficial @cine1studios @muradkhetani @ashwinvarde @tseries.official A post shared by Salman Khan (@beingsalmankhan) on Feb 13, 2019 at 10:29pm PST Now as per latest reports, Salman is all set to launch yet another face and that is Salman's bodyguard Shera's son, Tiger. Talking about launching fresh faces in the industry, Salman told Bombay Times, “Shera's son Tiger is being groomed right now and he's already being considered by so many producers and directors. Shera feels I will be the best judge of a script for his son, so I am now sifting through scripts. I am yet to find something worthy.” View this post on Instagram I am there waiting, watching and keeping to the shadows. But when he needs me, I will step out of shadows and protect my Maalik @beingsalmankhan #Salmankhan #Shera #Beingshera A post shared by Being Shera (@beingshera) on Mar 3, 2019 at 1:02am PST Reportedly, Tiger has previously worked as an assistant director on Salman's film 'Sultan' in 2016. He admits that he will continue to launch newcomers in the industry for as long as he can because, “I was also launched at some point and I think the industry can do with some more fresh talent,” he said. © Pintrest Well, we can see where that motivation is coming from, and sure enough if these aspiring actors get the boost they need, and prove their mettle, they might actually add great flavour to the industry's growing young brigade. However, only their talent will prove their worth in the longer run. Let's see what is in store for Tiger.
  13. Respawn's 'Apex Legends' has been hitting some impressive gaming milestone since it's launch. The game recently hit 50 million players worldwide, and now it's been brought to light that the title has become the biggest free-to-play launch of all time. © Respawn According to a report by market research firm Superdata, 'Apex Legends' is not just a big hit for EA, it's also the became biggest free-to-play title launch of all time by pulling in a whopping $92 million in revenue in its launch month i.e. February across all platforms. Not just that, 'Apex Legends' also became one of the top ten grossing games in February. Reportedly, most of the money which 'Apex Legends' made was on consoles, not PC. The game ranked fourth in console revenue and sixth in PC among all titles. Here, take a look: © Superdata 'Fortnite', as you can see, still topped 'Apex Legends' on both the platforms by generating more than $300 million in a single month. Yes, 'Apex Legends' may not have killed 'Fortnite' in terms of the revenue, but there's no denying that 'Apex Legends' is just as popular as 'Fortnite', if not more. I mean, I personally play 'Apex Legends' a lot more than 'Fortnite' nowadays, and I know I am not alone. 'Apex Legends', in case you don't know, is a free-to-play title that's available on EA's Origin. The game has revenue streams via its virtual coin currency, which allows players to purchase Apex Packs and splurge on cosmetic upgrades. In fact, even some legends like Mirage, Caustic and the new Octane are behind a paywall for those who want to add them quickly instead of earning points to acquire them.
  14. A new image of Apple's AirPower was spotted on the company's Australian website and was spotted by Twitter user Michael Bateman. The image appeared on the AirPods page and shows an iPhone XS charging alongside an AirPods wireless charging case. The new image does not show an Apple Watch previous images shown by Apple before. © Apple AirPower has been the long-awaited wireless charging pad by Apple that was announced in 2017 alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone X. The mat has not been since that event as it has been rumoured that the wireless charging mat has been suffering from over-heating issues in the past. Apple that removed any mention of the charging mat from its website, fearing that it may have been cancelled stealthily. © YouTube The new image looks very similar to the previous image released by Apple; however, this time it showcases a smartphone with a wallpaper that was released on the iPhone XS Max and iPhone XS. Earlier this week, Apple announced new AirPods and a new wireless charging case that can be used with the AirPower. Earlier this year, it was reported that Apple has started production of the wireless charging mat and would be available for customers later this year. © Apple It is possible that Apple may launch the AirPower quietly today before the company's event on March 25th that will primarily focus on services. The press conference is expected to focus on video streaming service and a new subscription platform.
  15. Apple has officially sent out invites for its first event of the year that is scheduled to take place on March 25th. There's been a lot of speculation as to what Apple may be launching, however, the tagline on the invite may give us some clues. The artwork has the tagline "It's show time" followed by a 1940s style countdown. So, here's what we think Apple may be launching based on previous rumours and speculations: 1. Streaming Service © Reuters According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple is expected to announce a new video streaming service that will rival Netflix and other services. The report says that Apple will have a library of at least 25 original shows that will cover various genres such as docuseries, dramas, comedy and family entertainment. 2. News Service Apple is also expected to launch a premium subscription plan for its “News” app. The app will let readers access content from different publishers including some of the top publication like Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, New York Times and others. There is no word whether this service will make its way to India, as the “News” app is currently not available to download via the Indian app store. 3. New iPads © Reuters Around the same time last year, Apple announced new iPads that were cheaper than the Pro model and had support for Apple Pencil. There's a good chance that Apple may announce new iPads to compliment the launch of its new streaming service. Previous leaks have suggested that Apple has already registered seven new iPad models with the Eurasian Economic Commission and some were even mentioned in the public beta code of iOS 12.2. A new 10-inch iPad is said to replace last year's 9.7-inch model and a new iPad mini. The iPad mini has not been updated in the last four years and seems like a good opportunity for Apple to introduce a smaller iPad for its news service platform. 4. AirPods 2 It's highly unlikely that Apple will launch new AirPods at the March event but there is a good chance that Apple will launch a wireless charging case. Leaks have suggested that the wireless charging case is expected to launch in the first half of 2019 while AirPods 2 is expected to launch alongside new iPhones later this year. 5. AirPower © Apple AirPower has been expected to launch for a while and Apple's charging mat has reportedly gone into mass production earlier this year. There's a good chance that Apple may launch the charging mat along with the new wireless charging case for the AirPods.
  16. It's been a while Sanjay Dutt has been MIA from the big screen (unless you count his brief appearance in his own biography 'Sanju' during the end credits). However, he's all set to return with a bang with 'Kalank' - probably the biggest multi-starrer movie this year has to offer. The teaser just launched today, and as excited as we are for it to release, Sanjay Dutt's all-black ensemble had our attention in a heartbeat. Take a look. © Viral Bhayani We love the elaborately textured sherwani paired with the super relaxed patialas. The fact that he almost never steps out like this, makes it all the more special. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani We are digging the salt and pepper (well, more of salt tbh) beard game. His buzz cut is making him look like the ultimate new age 'Khalnayak' that we all deserve. © Viral Bhayani When it comes to accessories, the black glasses and the gold sherwani buttons spell 'classy' like nothing else, and they do complete justice to the intense vibe. © Viral Bhayani All we can say is, we can't wait to see him on the big screen.
  17. It's finally time to get our hands on the 'Pokemon Go'-style Harry Potter game. The game is about to launch soon and will be called 'Harry Potter: Wizards Unite', and is probably the most anticipated AR game ever since 'Pokemon Go'. © Niantic The developers behind the game have put 'Harry Potter: Wizards Unite' up for pre-registration on Google Play and App Store. As of now, there's no word as to when the game will actually launch as a concrete date has not been set yet. All we can be sure of is that the game will launch very soon. However, you can see a slight preview of the gameplay here (https://www.harrypotterwizardsunite.com/post/hpwufirstlook/) that basically shows off the game's capabilities and AR features. The video confirms that the game will work very similar to 'Pokemon Go' as you will run around in the real world doing magic duels and capture creatures/items. © Niantic If you are interested in playing this game, we would recommend you pre-register on Google Play and the App Store as soon as possible. You will be alerted as soon as the game is made available for download. The game has been developed by Niantic, the same developer behind 'Pokemon Go' in partnership with Warner's Portkey Games label. The game will basically add an overlay of the wizarding world on the real world. The game draws influence from both Harry Potter movies, books, and the Fantastic Beasts franchise. © Niantic The game will also use some real-world locations to transform them into Inns in the game. Players will also be able to discover Portkeys that can transport players to iconic places from the franchise. Locations such as Ollivander's wand shop in Diagon Alley are also discoverable. Players will also be able to team up with others for duels, using spells to defeat enemies like Death Eaters and Dementors.
  18. Google is exploring the idea of launching a new game streaming service later this month at a Game Developers Conference presentation. We were already pretty pumped about this rumored game streaming service, but a new patent design, which shows us what Google's first controller may look like, has gotten us even more excited. © USPTO Google's patent application, as you can see, shows us the design of the controller. The patent itself is for a notification system for the controller that notifies you when, say, a game is available or when you've received an invitation. It looks like the controller can also store your account and host settings like brightness, in-game volume, and more. The illustrations don't give out much, but you can clearly see its design, complete with a dual-joystick setup, trigger buttons and more. We can also spot what appears to be a microphone button, which means we could see some sort of assistant compatibility. Also, the folks over at Yankodesign have created a series of renders based off the patent illustrations, and it looks really cool. Here, check it out: © Yankodesign It's worth pointing out that it's just a render, and the final product may look different than what you see here. Google is expected to reveal more info about its game streaming service as well as the controller at the Game Developers Conference on March 19th, so keep your eyes peeled. Source: USPTO
  19. Samsung made a huge splash last month at the UNPACKED event by announcing the Galaxy Fold. In case you've been living under a rock, the Galaxy Fold is a hybrid device with a tablet-sized screen inside which unfolds like a notebook. It looks futuristic, but we have our reservations about its practicality. Now, if the new reports are something to go by, it looks like Samsung is readying two more foldable phones with significantly different designs. According to Bloomberg's report, one of these devices will have a large screen that wraps around the outside of the device, much like Huawei's Mate X. The other device is said to be a vertically folding phone shaped like a clamshell. © BCCL The first phone, with an inward fold, sounds more fascinating since the Huawei's impressive Mate X looked more promising. It's less thick when folded and just looks more appealing and practical in general. However, it remains to be seen if Samsung has some other design up its sleeves. Moving on, the clamshell phone sounds more like the upcoming Moto RAZR, or Samsung's own W2019 flip phone that debuted last year. Additionally, Samsung is also said to incorporate the in-display fingerprint scanner into its foldable lineup, which, we believe will be more or less similar to the ones found on the Galaxy S10 phones. © YouTube Samsung's clamshell-style foldable phone is planned to release later this year or early 2020, and is said to be followed by the Mate X-style foldable phone. In the meantime, you can keep your eyes on the Galaxy Fold as it's set for a release in April.
  20. The Galaxy S10 can't seem to remain a secret anymore as leaks have been raining from every corner of the globe. Yesterday, a detailed hands-on video of the Galaxy S10 was leaked online which has now been removed. We virtually know everything about the Galaxy S10/S10+ except for the price — or is it? © YouTube The Galaxy S10 will launch in three variants i.e. Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10e, and the Galaxy S10+ and new leaks have now given us a hint towards the pricing of the upcoming smartphone. The ceramic version of the Galaxy S10 and S10+ is rumoured to come with 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Being the most expensive version of the lineup, the smartphone is bound to break the bank. Having said that, the base model of the Galaxy S10e is expected to cost Rs 60,500 (based on leaked Chinese prices). The smaller Galaxy S10 is expected to start at Rs 72,700 whereas the top model can cost up to Yuan 9000 (Rs 95,000 approx). That's about $1,500. pic.twitter.com/5BIDyeegAf — Evan Blass (@evleaks) February 17, 2019 The price was leaked via reliable tipster Evan Blass and the prices shared looks like a screenshot from an e-commerce website in China. What's worthy to know is that the ceramic version with 12GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage is expected to cost Yuan 10,000 i.e. Rs. 1,05,000. This version of the smartphone is also expected to have 5G support which may be a contributing factor to its high pricing. © Youtube/MKBHD The pricing of these smartphones is expected to be higher in other countries, especially in India, as the prices are a bit lower in China when compared to other markets. Needless to say that these prices are based on a leak and should be taken with a pinch of salt until the smartphone is unveiled officially tomorrow. Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled for February 20th where the South-Korean giant is expected to announce new flagship smartphones and possibly a foldable phone.
  21. Xiaomi's several social media accounts and executives have already revealed much of the Mi 9's design and hardware specifications. The phone will be launched on February 20 and the company is planning to showcase the device at MWC 2019 as well. CEO Lei Jun has highlighted that the screen-to-body ratio of the upcoming Mi-series flagship will be higher than what was featured on last year's Mi 8. It is also reported to have a Samsung made AMOLED display panel with Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The display shall also house an integrated fingerprint scanner that Xiaomi says will be 25 per cent faster. © Xiaomi / Weibo The company has also given a sneak peek at the Mi 9's display, highlighting its thin bottom bezels. The phone is also confirmed to carry an eye protection mode to reduce blue light impact. Additional specs include a 90.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio, a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display, and a smaller water-drop style notch. It shall also sport the third generation ultrasonic proximity sensor for better accuracy. Obviously, the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset along with a 3500mAh battery. © Xiaomi / Weibo On the rear, it shall have a 48-megapixel primary wide angle sensor, 12-megapixel secondary telephoto sensor with PDAF and lastly, a 16-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor. The front shall have a 20-megapixel selfie camera. The device will use pixel binning technology to output 12-megapixel images in low light conditions for improved image quality. Xiaomi claims that the ultra-wide angle camera supports 4cm macro photography. Additionally, the company has also revealed that the triple rear camera module is protected by a layer of sapphire glass that is claimed to be extremely durable and resistant to scratches. © Xiaomi / Weibo Jun has also confirmed that the Mi 9 will come with reverse charging technology, something we expect to see onboard the Samsung Galaxy S10 as well. The phone shall ship with MIUI 10, based on Android 9 Pie. The top variant could come with 512GB internal storage as well as 10GB RAM. The Mi 9 is expected to come with a starting price of CNY 2,999 (Rs 30,000). Colour options currently include Black, Blue, White, and Gold.
  22. Apple is gearing up to launch its rumoured streaming service as soon as early April or May and is one of the many subscription services Tim Cook has already confirmed. The streaming service will feature shows Fromm HBO and other channels, however, will not feature existing services like Netflix. © YouTube The streaming service will essentially bundle different streaming platforms into one subscription that Apple customers can buy. Apple device owners will be able to buy and watch in a dedicated TV app on iOS. Apple already boasts more than 50 million subscribers for its music service and it is possible that we could see a similar number for the video service thanks to the sheer number of Apple devices out there. Apple is believed to be investing at least US$1 billion in content and has acquired the rights to a new series starring and co-produced by American actresses Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon. © Apple Having said that, Apple's new video service will compete directly with Netflix for streaming eyeballs. When Netflix first started streaming its content, it already has a plethora of content lined up to keep everyone busy. Apple may struggle to achieve the same in the beginning as it would pack only a handful of shows at first. It would be interesting to see how Apple will populate its streaming service for users. Apple's new subscriptions service will be somewhat similar to Amazon Prime. The Cupertino giant is expected to offer a subscription plan that will include music, video and news. Whether it would be enough to sway customers towards the service; only time will tell.

  24. The Samsung Galaxy S10 launch is scheduled for February 20th 2019 and we pretty much know everything about the phone right now. There have been numerous CAD leaks, along with reports on the alleged specifications. But thanks to MKBHD, we're getting a first-hand look at a dummy S10 model that is used by the case or cover makers to closely work with. There are going to be three variants of the S10 this year, the flagship S10, the S10+, and a slightly cheaper S10e. Samsung has been launching two variants of the S-series flagship for quite some time, and now the company wants to lure buyers with a slightly cheaper option that carries flagship enough feature, at a lighter price. Considering the success of the iPhone XR, the S10e seems to be a safe bet right now. We hope it won't cannibalise sales of the elder sibling, just like the cheaper iPhone did. The S10 will have a 6.1-inch display with a 3500mAh battery, while the S10+ shall sport a 6.44-inch display with a 4000mAh battery. The S10e is reported to have a slightly smaller 5.8-inch screen, and maybe even a smaller battery. © YouTube/MKBHD The phone has a signature Samsung design, consisting of metal and glass. The glass back is obviously a fingerprint magnet, and the front is strikingly similar to the previous iterations. The bezels are ultra slim, and the chin has been slightly cut down as well. On the left is a secondary utility button, basically a dedicated button for Bixby smart assistant. The first thing you'll notice about the S10 and S10+ is its camera array. Both sport triple lens setup on the rear, while the S10 has a single front camera. The S10+ gets a dual camera setup on the front, and all the front sensors are housed in a punch-hole design. We've already seen this technology in action with the A8s, and Samsung likes to call it the Infinity-O display. © YouTube/MKBHD The physical fingerprint sensor is no-where to be seen and we're assuming it'll be now located under the display. We've already seen this technology in action with the multiple phones like the Vivo NEX and OnePlus 6T. Lastly, the headphone jack is located on the bottom, and Samsung isn't yet forcing us to move on. This shall be the 10th anniversary of the S-series smartphones, and to make things even more interesting, Samsung could launch an S10+ variant with 1TB of internal storage. However, these are just pre-launch rumours and reports, and we'd ask you to take 'em with a pinch of salt since the final product could definitely vary.
  25. The AirPods have been one of Apple's most successful and groundbreaking product that is due for an update by the Cupertino giant. The AirPods have been selling like hotcakes ever since its launch and it seems like a brand new version is on its way. It was revealed a few days ago that component suppliers believe that the successor to the wireless buds is on its way. Suppliers believe that it will likely be called AirPods 2 and will be launched in the first half of 2019. We've already reported about new biometric capabilities that may be a feature of AirPods 2. In fact, you can read about previous leaks and speculations here. © 9to5Mac Having said that, there's now a new leak that may point towards a feature we've always wanted on the AirPods. The leak was spotted by 9to5Mac and comes from a very unlikely source — Apple itself. The latest beta version of iOS 12.2 was rolled out to developers and in the setup screen, 9to5Mac discovered the new upcoming feature. In the set-up screen, it clearly says: “Talk to Siri with your AirPods or iPhone by saying 'Hey, Siri'.” © 9to5Mac This tells us that you can now access Siri by simply saying “Hey, Siri” which means the new AirPods will be smart enough to hear the prompt. It will work similar to how it works on the Apple Watch and on iPhones. In fact, just like other Apple products, it may be able to recognise your particular voice. It could be possible that this new feature may also be coming to existing AirPods however we aren't entirely sure if the onboard chip will be able to do so. © Pexels The new AirPods 2 is also expected to come with a new wireless charging case that will work with Apple's wireless charger called 'AirPower'. It is very likely that Apple will launch the new AirPods, the new wireless charger and even new iPads at an event scheduled for March 2019. Source: 9to5Mac
