  1. OnePlus recently launched the new OnePlus Nord, an affordable smartphone with killer specs. But now it looks like it's working on a new phone and this time we're looking at an entry-level phone. Yes, OnePlus seems to be working on an entry-level phone. According to a new report, OnePlus is said to be working on a phone that's powered by Snapdragon 460 chipset. This news is coming from an insider who confirmed that the launch is imminent. The phone will apparently be available in the global markets, so we can expect it to arrive here too. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla This new phone is codenamed 'Clover' and it looks like it has a 6.52-inch 720p IPS panel, 4GB RAM, and 64GB internal storage. We also have info on things like the availability of a microSD card slot, capacitive fingerprint scanner, and more. As for the optics, we're looking at a triple camera setup at the back but the standout feature seems to the 6,000mAh battery. That with a 720p display and we're probably looking a battery life champ here. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla If the rumors are something to go by, then this phone will come later this year and it'll be priced at around $200. This looks like an interesting price point to tap into. OnePlus has never launched a phone at this price point, so we'll have to see how it works out for them. We still have no official confirmation on the arrival of this phone, so let's not speculate further and just wait. Source: Android Central View the full article
  2. Apple is somewhat considered a premium and luxury brand even for technology enthusiasts, however, we’ve seen the company shift away from that image this year. Apple launched the iPhone SE in April 2020 which is the most affordable iPhone the company has launched in years. We could see the Cupertino Giant apply the same strategy for one of their most successful products ever, i.e the Apple Watch. © andres-urena-unsplash The company usually launches a new Apple Watch alongside the latest iPhone every year, however, according to reliable leaker Komiya, Apple Watch SE may also be in the works. Currently, customers can buy the Apple Watch Series 5 and if they are looking for something cheaper, Apple Watch Series 3 repeatedly goes on sale. The fact that an older Apple Watch still manages to sell well may have prompted the Cupertino giant to launch an affordable version of the Apple Watch this year. It may even be a replacement for the Apple Watch 3 with a familiar design and longer battery life. © daniel-canibano-unsplash The leaker detailed that the Apple Watch SE will probably have the same design as the AW3 but will only come in an aluminium version. Having said that, Komiya also detailed the hardware that will be used for the rumoured watch. The new affordable Apple Watch is expected to use the S6 and W3 chips that are currently found on the Apple Watch Series 5. This means that the watch will not have a new design but impressive hardware that currently powers the latest Apple Watch. It is a similar strategy as the iPhone SE, where Apple uses up-to-date hardware but retains the classic design to distinguish with their latest products. How Much Will It Cost? Apple Watch SE - Old design - Replacement of Series 3 - S6 & W4 chip - All 16GB - Only Aluminium model - Digital Crown with haptic feedback? - Bluetooth 5.0 - international SOS calling (only cellular model) - Coming next March - Same prices as Series 3 pic.twitter.com/AV3IApxvnH — Komiya (@komiya_kj) August 16, 2020 The Apple Watch SE is rumoured to cost $199 i.e, around Rs 15,000 which is significantly cheaper than the flagship model. The new Apple Watch could be a new way for Apple to capture the wearables markets further as it would be a gateway for users who do not want to spend huge amounts of cash for Apple products. 3. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed our lives in more ways than one. Even after months of lockdown, the virus is still lurking around in the various parts of the world, making it hard for us to get back to our day-to-day lives. But it looks like we finally have some good news. According to a new report, it looks like India's first indigenous COVID-19 could be ready for public use by August 15. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has asked medical institutions and hospitals to expedite clinical trials for the vaccine. © Reuters If everything goes to the plan, then it looks like the vaccine will be made available to the public by August 15 2020. Here's everything that you need to know: Joining Hands With BBIL ICMR has partnered with Bharat Biotech International Limited (BBIL) for the clinical trials of this indigenous vaccine 'Covaxin' for the coronavirus disease. A total of 12 institutes have been selected for the clinical trial. Trial Locations © Reuters These institutes are located in Visakhapatnam, Rohtak, New Delhi, Patna, Belgaum (Karnataka), Nagpur, Gorakhpur, Kattankulathur (Tamil Nadu), Hyderabad, Arya Nagar, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Goa, and Bhubaneswar-based Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital. Top Priority Right Now ICMR Director-General Dr Balram Bhargava noted that this is one of the "top priority projects which is being monitored at the top-most level of the government". The vaccine was developed and manufactured in Bharat Biotech's facility located in Genome Valley in Hyderabad. Another Vaccine In Development © Reuters Meanwhile, another candidate is also being developed Ahmedabad-based Zydus Cadila Healthcare. It's also considered to be a potential vaccine candidate, however, we don't have much about it just yet. The First Vaccine To Receive Approval The 'Covaxin' has become the first candidate developed in India to receive the Drug Controller General of India's approval to enter human trials. 4. After the prices for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were announced, we didnât really get to know when the two smartphones will be available in India. Now, the two phones are available to pre-book on Amazon for Rs 1,000 but thereâs still no official launch date of the phone yet. OnePlus was expected to be available on Amazon sooner, however, it was extended after the Indian Government disallowed e-commerce websites to sell and deliver non-essential items during the lockdown amid COVID-19. © OnePlus There is still no concrete word when the phone will be shipped to customers in India, however, the phone is expected to go on sale on May 11th. The OnePlus 8 retails in India for Rs 41,999 (6GB+128GB) and the 8 Pro starts at Rs Rs 54,999. If you want to know the full pricing details of the OnePlus 8 Series for each model, you can have a quick read here. © MKBHD In terms of specifications, the OnePus 8 Series is powered by Qualcommâs latest flagship chipset i.e. the Snapdragon 865 SoC. 5. Realme was supposed to launch a brand new smartphone sub-brand called âNarzoâ as the Indian Government initially allowed the sales of smartphones from April 21st. However, the Indian Government has now reversed the decision and will only allow essentials to be delivered by e-commerce websites like Amazon and Flipkart. Realme was hoping to launch its smartphone on the originally expected launch date in March 2020. © Realme However, due to the latest advisory by the Indian Government, Realme took to twitter to announce the delay of the launch until further notice. Many argued that the smartphone should have not launched in the first place due to the current lockdown situation in the country. However, we can expect the smartphone to launch as soon as lockdown is relaxed in India in the coming weeks. © Realme Earlier rumours have suggested the Realme Narzo 10 was expected to sport a 6.5-inch display and a 48MP quad-camera setup at the back. Realme was also expected to announce the Narzo 10A that would sport a triple-camera instead. Both smartphones were rumoured to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G8- chipset. The Nazo 10 was also expected to have a massive 5,000mAh battery and fast charging capabilities. It is not yet clear when the smartphone is expected to launch now. Nonetheless, in case you were wondering, some speculated that the smartphone would cost Rs 14,990. View the full article
  6. It's a fact that everyone's eyes are always trained on the children of Bollywood stars, in the hope of seeing them walk in their parents' footsteps and take that plunge into the movie industry. Star kids are said to be privileged, always comfortable with the blanket of nepotism around them, which is usually proven right since they sort of get a direct entry into Bollywood. But are they able to deliver their talent on-screen? Not always. However, some of these star kids, who are benefitted by the big surname, are not so successful and failed to entertain us on-screen. Check out this list of star kids who pretty much tanked right after their launch: 1. Karan Deol © Instagram/Karan Deol If you were able to save your money on watching Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, you did a great job. Karan Deol, who is Sunny Deol's son, couldn't bring any sort of magic on the screen as he failed to create an impact on the audience and gave a dud of a movie, with a single expression throughout. Even the screenplay of the movie is weak, due to which Karan looks like an unpolished next-gen Bollywood actor. 2. Ananya Panday © Instagram/Ananya Panday Ananya Panday, who is Chunky Panday's daughter was launched by Karan Johar in Dharma Production's, SOTY 2. Besides the movie being a big flop, Ananya's video clip on 'nepotism' in the film industry (https://www.mensxp.com/entertainment/bollywood/75069-bollywood-movies-with-decent-start-but-bad-ending.html) and discussing her father's 'struggle' led to a lot of funny comments. 3. Uday Chopra © Twitter/Uday_Chopra The son of leading producer Yash Chopra, it was assumed that it would be easy for someone like Uday to make it big on-screen. But turns out, he couldn't make us believe us in his acting chops post his back-to-back flops like Neal n Nikki, Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai etc. Though he managed to catch our attention in Mohabbatein, he failed to prove his prowess any further. 4. Meezaan Jaffrey © Instagram/MeezanJ Meezaan Jaffrey is Javed Jaffrey's son, who made his debut in Malaal, that happens to be a remake of a Tamil movie. But the pace of the Bollywood version is damn slow and you won't be able to keep up with the acting of the debutant for sure. Unfortunately, the audience left the movie theatres with a lot of disappointment. 5. Esha Deol © Instagram/Esha Deol While Hema Malini's acting chops ensured she was hailed throughout her career in Bollywood, unfortunately, her daughter Esha Deol couldn't stand by her surname. Even though she bagged her first Filmfare for the Best Debut Award in 2002 for Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, she failed to carry her mother's legacy ahead. 6. Jackky Bhagnani © Instagram/Jacky Bhagnani With such a powerful surname, Jackky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani (producer) son, failed to seize victory and stardom in Bollywood. With movies like Kal Kissne Dekha, Jackyy was unable to entertain us with his launch. 7. Zayed Khan © Twitter/ZayedKhan_FC Actor Sanjay Khan's son, Zayed Khan, failed to make an impact in Bollywood as well. His debut movie Chura Liya Hai Tumne in 2003, also failed to make it big at the box office. His acting chops and talent were only seen in Main Hoon Na where he starred along with Shah Rukh Khan, which is probably the only best movie he gave us. Later, his graph just spiralled down and he just went into oblivion. View the full article
  7. Apple has been long rumoured to be launching a new affordable pair of AirPods this year and according to Jon Prosser, the YouTuber who accurately predicted the launch date of the iPhone SE claims that the cheaper AirPods are ready to launch. According to Prosser, Apple is planning to announce the new AirPods alongside new products next month which were scheduled to be announced in late March 2020 but got delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. New AirPods (which were supposed to be at the March Event) are now ready to go. Probably alongside the MacBook Pro next month. â Jon Prosser (@jon_prosser) April 19, 2020 The new AirPods are expected to have a similar design as the AirPods Pro, but will lack certain features like noise cancellation. A refresh to the design of the classic AirPods is long overdue and this could be the iteration Apple has been planning for a while. The new AirPods may also not come with a wireless charging case in order to curb costs and price of the upcoming accessory. © MENSXP/Akshay Bhalla Apple is also expected to announce other products such as a new MacBook Pro, wireless charging pads and AirTags. Of course, we advise you take this information with a grain of salt as plans of releasing new products may have changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we could face delays that werenât expected before. Apple is also expected to announce new over-ear headphones at Appleâs virtual WWDC conference later this year. View the full article
  8. Earlier today, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had tweeted out saying that they're ready to unveil their new phones after having to postpone the event a few times. Now, we've just got the confirmation that the company is going to unveil the new OnePlus 8 series of phones on April 14, 2020. Yes, OnePlus has finally decided to go ahead with the launch despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But it'll still be an online-only launch event and we'll be able to stream it live on OnePlus' official website and on YouTube. © OnePlus Though OnePlus hasn't revealed anything about the new devices yet, they did mention that they're going to launch the OnePlus 8 "series", which means we'll definitely be getting more than one phone. This time OnePlus is going with the "Lead with Speed" slogan. The company also confirmed that there'll be a "full series of 5G devices". It's been a stressful month so far with little to no activities happening due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But now, we're super excited to welcome the new OnePlus 8 series and see what the company has been cooking for us behind the scenes. We already know quite a bit about the OnePlus 8 like its colour variants and even the detailed specs. 14/04/2020 - The answer you all have been waiting for! 9. While POCO, as a brand, made a comeback with the POCO X2, it wasn't the flagship that we all had been waiting for. However, now it looks like the POCO F2 is happening after all. If the report by the folks at XDA Developers is something to go by, then Xiaomi's new Redmi K30 Pro may debut as the POCO F2 in India. Obviously, there's no official confirmation from POCO themselves, but XDA has uncovered some codes from the MIUI camera app which suggests that the Redmi K30 Pro may launch in India under the POCO brand. © Xiaomi One of the XDA members dug deep inside the camera code and found that Redmi K30 Pro also displays the watermark âSHOT ON POCO PHONEâ. Yes, it looks like the phones contain the string "SHOT ON POCO Phone". This makes us believe that the Redmi K30 Pro may have POCO branding in India. Honestly, this isn't all that surprising because the Redmi K30 4G was launched as the POCO X2 in India. And the fact that the Redmi K30 Pro has "Pro" flagship specs, it may land as the true successor to the legendary POCO F1. © Xiaomi In case you're wondering, the Redmi K30 Pro sports a Snapdragon 865 SoC and it's coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In terms of the camera, it has a triple-camera setup which includes a 64MP primary sensor. In addition to all this, the Redmi K30 Pro has a lot going for it, so it'll be interesting to see if it makes its way to India as the POCO F2. Source: XDA Developers View the full article

  11. Sony revealed important information about the PlayStation 5 that included technical specifications and advancements since the PlayStation 4. One of the topics discussed at the presentation was the backwards compatibility feature. It was detailed that the PlayStation 5 will be backwards compatible, but unfortunately, not with every game and previous Sony platform. According to the presentation, the feature will only support backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 4 and 4 Pro and not the previous Playstation consoles. During the presentation, Chief console architect Mark Cerny said, "Results are excellent, though. We recently took a look at the 100 top PlayStation 4 titles as ranked by playtime, and we're expecting almost all of them to be playable at launch on PlayStation 5.â © Youtube_Sony PlayStation From Cernyâs presentation, we can conclude that not all PlayStation 4 games will be supported at launch, even the top 100, as Sony âexpectsâ them to supported. And this is exactly where the Xbox Series X has a big advantage as it will be able to support games all the way up to the original console and even every game that launched on the Xbox One. We arenât entirely sure which top 100 PS4 titles Cery was referring to but we can expect games like Minecraft, Fortnite, God of War, Spider-Man and other Sony exclusives to work at launch. However, it isnât clear whether the PlayStation 5 will be able to support the entire PS4 library at launch or whether it is entirely up to the developer and publisherâs discretion to have their previous games supported on the PlayStation 5. During the launch of PlayStation 4, many users had to re-purchase games on the new console even if they owned it on the previous generation. Battlefield 4 is a classic example where users who were upgrading to the PlayStation 4 had to buy the game again. On the PlayStation 5, backwards compatibility will work in a special Legacy Mode for running PlayStation 4 games. It will also run in Pro Legacy mode to run games that are optimised for the PlayStation 4 Pro. It is somewhat of an emulator that will mimic the older machine while using the PlayStation 5âs hardware. Additionally, users will be able to bring over their PS4 library to the PlayStation 5 and can even play the games using a USB 3.2 HDD. It is somewhat disappointing that there was no mention of supporting games from the PS3, PS2 and PS1 era. While backwards compatibility is a welcome feature, we can only know for sure how it works when we get to test it in the real world. View the full article
  12. Game streaming is a relatively new way to play games, with players like Google, Nvidia and Microsoft leading the way with their own services. Microsoft has been testing console game streaming in India too, however we now finally have more news about its streaming service in regard to India. Microsoft has been rumoured in the past to be working with Jio to bring project xCloud to India and it was finally confirmed by the company to The Mako Reactor. © Microsoft âYes, we confirmed the news of our intent to bring Project xCloud to Indian gamers with Reliance Jio as part of our Future Decoded event in Mumbai in late February,â a spokesperson for the company told 'The Mako Reactor' in a statement. âWe announced this intention to come to India at X019 London in November, and will have more news soon on how and when this will play out for your local market.â Weâve argued previously that game streaming would be an ideal fit for the Indian gaming scene when Google Stadia was first announced. India is one of the biggest markets for smartphones and mobile gaming has taken off in the country, thanks to games like PUBG Mobile. India is potentially the biggest untapped market for game streaming as it will give millions of mobile gamers a way to play AAA games on their phones. © Microsoft Indiaâs console and PC gaming scene is still in its nascent stages due to high barriers of entry such as import duties, expensive games and lower purchasing power than other countries. An affordable game streaming service will introduce potentially millions of mobile gamers to console-level games. © Microsoft While Microsoft is yet to announce any pricing and launch date details, the company is expected to announce their plans soon. Microsoft plans to host a digital event on March 18th where the company is expected to discuss more details about the Xbox Series X and Project xCloud. The partnership with Jio is a welcome move, however we still have no idea how the two companies are planning to tackle latency issues, data caps and the total cost of the service. India is also behind when it comes to 5G connectivity and running a game streaming service without high data speeds could pose a bigger problem for the upcoming game streaming service. 16. Celebrities commemorating their box office releases and their consequent successes in a zany and quirky manner isnât exactly a new thing. However, given how much of a style recluse Tiger Shroff tends to be, we actually find it quite interesting, when he steps out wearing something very basic, and yet, so stylish. © Viral Bhayani Say what you will about Tiger, as far as his action sequences and dance numbers are concerned, he is untouchable. Last year, War was the highest-grossing film in India, mainly because of some insanely cool action sequences that we got to see from Hrithik Roshan and Tiger. © Yash Raj Films Naturally, he has an ardent and very vocal fan following. Just take Baaghi 3âs trailer launch and how well it was received. Within hours of its premiere, it had over 30 million views on YouTube and over a million likes, and over 80,000 comments. Those are engagement figures most influencers dream of. © Fox Star Studios Celebrating the initial success that the filmâs trailer saw, Tiger stepped out wearing an unusually cool pair of sneakers. Back when Tiger was riding high on Warâs massive box office success, he actually wore the same sneakers. Your lucky sneakers, are they, Tiger? © Viral Bhayani The sneakers that Tiger is wearing are from the Japanese athleisure brand, Onitsuka Tiger. The particular ones that he is wearing, are the iconic Mexico 66 in Gold. Now, to be clear, the sneakerâs arenât actually made with gold - they are a specially treated PU leather that have a golden coating. © Onitsuka Tiger Onitsuka Tigers and Asics are a sort of staple for Tiger as far as sneakers are concerned. More often than not, be it in his films or his public appearances, he can be seen wearing either Onitsuka Tigers or Asics. © Viral Bhayani Moving on to the rest of his outfit, Tiger has paired the zany sneakers with a pair of joggers from Armani Exchange and a jacket, again from Asics. As basic as the outfit seems to be, they are laidback, cool and just functional, in line with Tiger's personal style. © Viral Bhayani The simplistic ensemble is quintessentially Tiger and is a great way to pull off the streetwear meets athleisure aesthetic in a neat and subtle way. 18. Samsung has already confirmed that the company will be hosting its “Unpacked” launch event on February 11, 2020. It is usually the time when Samsung announces new Galaxy S phones and this year the Galaxy S20 is expected to launch. A previous leak suggested that the Galaxy S11 will probably be called Galaxy S20 and we can expect three models this year from the South Korean giant. © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla We kind of have an idea that the Galaxy S20 will feature some of the latest specifications thanks to a recent leak put together by Phone Arena which details every single piece of information about the three upcoming smartphones. 22. The Nintendo Switch has been having a very successful run ever since it launched in 2017 and the console will probably dominate in 2020 as well. Even in India, the console has managed to outsell the Xbox One, even though the Nintendo Switch does not officially sell in India. According to the MakoReactor, “Industry estimates peg the Nintendo Switch lifetime to date sales to be above 50,000 in India” and this is based on a conservative estimate. © Dbrand/Youtube However, in 2020, both Microsoft and Sony will be launching their next generation of consoles by Christmas and Nintendo will have to introduce a new updated console to keep the competition heated. It has been long rumoured that Nintendo has been working on a “Pro” and “Lite” model where the latter launched in late 2019. The analyst who accurately predicted the “Lite” model of the Nintendo Switch believes the “Pro” model will launch sometime in 2020. "Switch will again be the best selling console during the year," says Piers Harding-Rolls of IHS Markit Technology, who has been speaking to gamesindustry.biz. He went on to say that "2020 is also set to be Switch's best hardware sales performance since launch. The Switch Lite will launch in mainland China.” © Youtube It is currently uncertain when the Pro model of the Nintendo Switch will launch, however, we can expect to see upgraded hardware for better performance in games. “There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will launch a "Switch Pro" in 2020, my guess is at $399,” said Harding-Rolls. "More specifically, I predict 4K support, bigger cartridge sizes, and of course beefed-up components. I also think the device will launch after the summer holidays to counter the roll-out of the PS5 and next-gen Xbox later in the year - along with a first-party, system-seller game. At the moment, Switch's Tegra X1 processor can't really keep up with the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One due to which the “Pro” model might be in the works. The Switch model will be able to even out this difference with better hardware. Having said that, it is possible that the next console may be a dedicated console-only box and not offer the portability feature. Sure, it may not suit the “Switch” name but the Switch Lite already breaks the branding as it cannot be docked. It remains to be seen when Nintendo plans to launch the new console or whether these are all rumours and it simply does not exist. As of now, we can only speculate what the console could be and wait for the official announcement later this year. Source: gamesindustry.biz View the full article
