  1. While depression isn't an easy condition to deal with, we have a lot of people coming forward and talking about it openly. This not only helps others who are going through it, to accept it and deal with it, but also normalises the whole philosophy behind depression, which in most cases is seen as a regressive state to go through, in society. © Twitter The most progressive stance though has been taken by celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Honey Singh and even Justin Bieber, who have openly talked about going through depression and experiencing every nuance of it and crossing the gripping hurdle one day at a time. Very recently, singer Armaan Malik revealed his battle with depression as well and said he was heavily inspired by singer Justin Beiber's posts on depression, on social media to face his own internal issues and come and talk about them, openly. Armaan also talked about efforts he was making towards rectifying his mental health and how he will never give up on it. © Twitter In a recent Tweet he said: “I've always been honest about my feelings in general so yes I'VE NOT BEEN OK for a while now & I know my fans have been worried about me. I resonated a lot with Justin's recent post where he said he's battling a lot of internal issues” I've always been honest about my feelings in general so yes I'VE NOT BEEN OK for a while now & I know my fans have been worried about me. I resonated a lot with Justin's recent post where he said he's battling a lot of internal issues — ARMAAN MALIK (@ArmaanMalik22) 26 March 2019 He also tweeted: “I have been too and it's not easy coz even if you have people you love around you, you need to sort out stuff YOURSELF!! But just wanna tell all of you, I have been super patient, I've tried my best to be positive & that's what has gotten me through a lot of my low phases.” I have been too and it's not easy coz even if you have people you love around you, you need to sort out stuff YOURSELF!! But just wanna tell all of you, I have been super patient, I've tried my best to be positive & that's what has gotten me through a lot of my low phases. — ARMAAN MALIK (@ArmaanMalik22) 26 March 2019 He then added a glimpse of positivity for 2019, saying: “So don't need to worry. It's gonna be a KICKASS 2019 and EVER YEAR"! So don't need to worry. It's gonna be a KICKASS 2019 and EVER YEARâï¸ — ARMAAN MALIK (@ArmaanMalik22) 26 March 2019 Lastly, the 'Bol Do Na Zara' singer Tweeted: “Just realised that it's not only me, it's you and everybody else around us and we all go through some intense stuff on a daily basis which we don't talk about. Let's all be strong together" Just realised that it's not only me, it's you and everybody else around us and we all go through some intense stuff on a daily basis which we don't talk about. Let's all be strong together ðð¼ — ARMAAN MALIK (@ArmaanMalik22) 26 March 2019 Which was a very helpful Tweet, might I add, considering a lot of people today are undergoing mental health issues and aren't very sure how to bring them up, without falling under the trap of it being a social taboo. Armaan's fans also came forward in his support for speaking up on such a crucial matter. We're very glad Armaan came forward to openly admit and talk about depression and we wish and pray everything works out well for him!
  2. Have you ever heard about an ailment called APS? Don't think you have? Well, chances are that whether you are acquainted with it or not, you must have suffered through it, at some point in time in your life. Or at least that is what Dr. Ritesh Malik's diagnosis of an average Indian says. Not sure about what APS is and where you stand on this diagnosis? Fret not, allow us to elucidate. According to Dr. Malik, APS stands for “Asian Parents Syndrome”. That is, the common ailment that plagues our nation as a collective, wherein parents decide what their children are going to be in life and do to earn a livelihood. © MensXP Now, as per this APS diagnosis, perhaps it is safe to say that at least 80 percent of young adults in every generation have suffered from it. So did Dr. Malik, who ended up taking his medical degree from Dr. M.G.R Medical University in Tamil Nadu because his parents wanted him to be one. As simple as that. However, Ritesh's true calling lay in entrepreneurship and that is why even though Ritesh got his medical degree in 2013, he spent most of those semesters studying not medicine, but rather Marketing Science 101 at London School of Economics! It was in 2012, during his final year when Ritesh fathered his first startup called Adstuck and went to sell its flagship product ALIVE to Bennett and Coleman. Post this came another high, when Ritesh was granted admission in Harvard University to pursue their 'Management of Innovation & Technology' course. © MensXP Not only this, the same year Ritesh also founded 'Guerilla Ventures' - an angel fund that focused on hardware companies. Though a certified doctor by this point, Ritesh did not give up on his heart's truest desire - to innovate and create for the larger good. The list is long, and there have been lot more projects that he has looked into, and even more lives that he has touched since. An active collaborator with the Indian government's 'Startup India, Standup India' initiative, Ritesh has been contributing to build college entrepreneurship ecosystem across the country. Come November 2015 when Ritesh decided to take yet another plunge, and went on to launch one of India's coolest coworking space 'Innov8' in the heart of New Delhi - Connaught Place. Innov8 was launched with an aim to encourage product-based startups to be a part of the ecosystem and encourage indigenous productions in the country. © MensXP As Ritesh likes to calls it, Innov8 is a business networking platform that connects people to build a community, and helps them to create the best quality products while outsourcing all other nitty-gritties to be taken care of by the Innov8 team. Today, Ritesh's vision and belief has led to massive expansions that is going to give flight to thousands of dreams by providing other future talents to interact, learn and collaborate, in order to produce the greatest products. However, when it to investing, Hitesh follows the mantra that one must always invest in the people. But when choosing his investment options, he turned to Kochi's startup village which has 10 funded startups, out of which nine are belongs to Ritesh and his team. © MensXP That's how multifaceted the growth has been under Ritesh's aegis, who has a simple yet effective advice for all budding entrepreneurs - celebrating failures because only that helps to create valuable products, that not only last but also fetch the results one is eyeing. Learn more about Forbes '30 Under 30' 2016 Dr. Ritesh Malik's rollercoaster journey, as the polymath walks from being a doctor to a full-time entrepreneur and investor, who is launching a thousand possibilities to realise our dreams through his fine moves.
  3. Zayn Malik once drove each and every one of his desi fans crazy when he sang 'Allah ke bande' and how can we forget those few lines in Urdu that he sang for his solo debut album? So basically, Zayn knows how to please his desi fanbase and this probably came in handy recently after he kind of alienated some of his Muslim fanbase after saying that he doesn't consider himself a Muslim during an interview, but it seems like he's done some sort of damage control after covering another Hindi song, because some fans were pissed. zayn malik left Islam? feel like i'm going through a break up, my chest is hurting must be my heart ðððª — Aliya (@_baaali12) November 8, 2018 Like really pissed. zayn malik: leaving islam. fully understand why so many things are haraam in islam, the music industry and alcohol being an example. they just distance you from your religion till you've lost all faith. zayn's a prime example of letting fame get to his head. cancelled. pic.twitter.com/qhghOfw2XK — ⨠(@bismah_x) November 9, 2018 But, Zayn probably has found a way to get back in their good graces by covering the song 'Allah Duhai Hai', yep he covered a song from 'Race' for his fans. View this post on Instagram For the fans (full on IGTV) A post shared by Zayn Malik (@zayn) on Nov 19, 2018 at 8:27pm PST (The full version of the song is on IGTV, as he said) Or, I have another theory. Maybe, just maybe, he's now trying to impress Salman Khan, as we all know he's already on good terms with Shah Rukh Khan. This kid is so cool. May Allah bless him. 6. I feel like Zayn Malik has always been the most controversial member of 'One Direction' and even after he has been long gone from the band – a band that doesn't probably even exist anymore – he is still the one making headlines for all kinds of controversial reasons. In an interview recently, Zayn revealed that he doesn't call himself a Muslim anymore. He said, “To be honest, I've never spoken publicly about what my religious beliefs are. I'm not professed to be a Muslim.” But, is it really a surprise? No, not at all. We haven't ever seen him be religious except for sometimes wearing desi clothes for Eid. Well, that's pretty much it, so obviously it's not a big shock. But, some fans are still upset about this revelation. zayn malik: leaving islam. fully understand why so many things are haraam in islam, the music industry and alcohol being an example. they just distance you from your religion till you've lost all faith. zayn's a prime example of letting fame get to his head. cancelled. 𤮠pic.twitter.com/qhghOfw2XK — bismah𥰠(@bismah_x) November 9, 2018 Exactly. so I've just been informed that Zayn Malik is not longer a Muslim and i'm honestly surprised you all didn't see this coming like why are you shocked lmao — sara (@sxmos_) November 8, 2018 Almost everyone – Zayn malik was muslim??? pic.twitter.com/p5Sti0gGBT — SpanishKash (@SlickSavant) November 8, 2018 It's Twitter, so there are obviously funny reactions. Zayn Malik about to put “ex-muslim” in his bio — Sk Jr. (@ajosdonbilivitt) November 8, 2018 So shocking, right? Me pretending to be surprised that #Zayn Malik doesn't consider himself #Muslim knowing that he's been drinking, partying and dating for years and expressed zero Islamic sentiment ever about anything. pic.twitter.com/3eawPwG8Kk — Salafi ð®ð·ðºð¸ (@PersianSunni) November 8, 2018 So confusing. You guys really expected Zayn Malik, a singer, someone who drinks, smokes, parties, has tattoos is every edge of his body to consider himself a Muslim? What are you all shocked about, Im confused ððð — swoopzy (@rxiamah) November 9, 2018 Thank you, next. Zayn Malik doesn't consider himself a Muslim. Muslim twitter: https://t.co/NFUycqeh6A — Priyanka's wedding ð â¡ (@Shezaahmed17) November 7, 2018 The best reaction, tbh. Just cos Zayn Malik sang Allah ke banday once, you lot thought he was gonna be next Khalifa of Islam?? even before this statement it's not hard to see that he doesn't claim Islam in anyway, he was in a boy band, has tattoos & drinks fs, why is everyone shocked LOOOL — Ra'naaldo (@RvNaa) November 8, 2018 He's just a 'gora' now, apparently. The Paki community no longer claims Zayn Malik, his actions will now be referred to as "goriyan de kam" — McBaÅÉ (@TheMcBang) November 9, 2018 Well, did he? I wonder if Zayn Malik got rid of his lota when he left Islam — McBaÅÉ (@TheMcBang) November 9, 2018 Oops. i was fully convinced that i was gonna end up marrying zayn malik and now he isn't a muslim anymore life's peak sometimes uno — dua (@quruxlaay) November 8, 2018 Nope. muslim twitter is getting pressed about zayn malik leaving islam like this boy hasn't been smoking, drinking, getting tattoos, and singing about f*cking his girlfriend for ages... when was he ever the poster boy for islamic values??? — ÙÙÛØÛ (@maleehagha) November 9, 2018 Okay then. zayn malik left Islam? feel like i'm going through a break up, my chest is hurting must be my heart ðððª — Aliya (@_baaali12) November 8, 2018 Yeah, don't be mean. Wait so I just read Zayn's statement about leaving Islam and it's a nice piece BUT like did he need to mock muslims and their practices while doing it? Gross @zaynmalik — Georgette Smith (@GeorgetteSmithM) November 9, 2018 Okay, some people are angry as well. Who are you to leave Islam? The Islam has left you when you started drinking, became Playboy, going to parties for one night stand. The Islam has left you when you tattoed your whole body. No one abandoned Islam but Islam abandoned people like you.#ZaynMalik pic.twitter.com/ZrMIX1jqZf — Waqar Gohar (@WiKiGohar) November 11, 2018 A funny jab? Perfect. Zayn malik first left one direction, now he left right direction — Umarzð¸ð¦ (@JonSunow4) November 11, 2018 Oh no. BUT YOU TWEETED BISMILLAH 6 YEARS AGO ZAYN ðððï¿½ï¿½ððð — miss vanjie (@Rameezay) November 11, 2018
  7. For a team that arrived in UAE as one of the tournament's favourites, the Pakistan cricket team looked like a shadow of the side that won the ICC Champions Trophy last year in the 2018 Asia Cup. The performance of the Sarfraz Ahmed-led side was so miserable that it beggared belief. Beginning their campaign against Hong Kong, Pakistan produced a dominating performance on their way to an eight-wicket win. Their next game against India was expected to be a livewire, but Pakistan just couldn't negate the opposition bowlers before succumbing to an eight-wicket loss. Their clash against Afghanistan, too, was far from what their expected as Pakistan survived a scare against the minnows. Already under pressure for their mediocre performances in the tournament, Pakistan didn't learn from their previous mistakes as they once again got steamrolled by India in the Super Four clash. Requiring a win to stay alive in the competition, Pakistan's worst outing came against Bangladesh who caused a major upset in the tournament with their emphatic 37-run win. © BCCL The loss against Bangladesh pushed Pakistan out of the tournament which caused a massive backlash on the social media. From the former cricketers to the cricket fans, Sarfraz and his team attracted a lot of criticism for their shambolic showing in the Asia Cup. While some blamed Sarfraz's captaincy, others targeted the Pakistani batsmen for their debacle in UAE. Amid all the criticism, a Pakistani journalist tried to troll Shoaib Malik by pinning the blame on the Pakistani batsman for their poor showing against Bangladesh which, in turn, led to their ouster from the Asia Cup. Taking to Twitter, the journo wrote: "Someone should ask Shoaib Malik if he has impressed Sania Mirza, can he play for the team in the next tournament? After pleasing his wife, can he do what the nation expects from him?". Arre bechaara.. clearly the poor guy has been watching a different Asia Cup!! https://t.co/c6JV6IHE8Y — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) September 26, 2018 The tweet attracted a lot of heat which eventually saw the journalist deleting it. But, not before, Sania Mirza - wife of Malik - had her say on the tweet. Coming to the aid of her husband, the Indian tennis sensation said: "Arre bechaara..clearly the poor guy has been watching a different Asia Cup". Ofcourse he did !! ðð½‍âï¸ https://t.co/gHjWXhgm8H — Sania Mirza (@MirzaSania) September 26, 2018 After being told that the Pakistani journalist had deleted his tweet, Sania said: "Ofcourse he did!!". For those who didn't know, Malik was arguably one of the top performers for Pakistan in the Asia Cup. With 211 runs in five games to his name, he was the second highest run-getter for his side after opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq (225 runs). Malik's unbeaten fifty was the reason why Pakistan managed to survive a scare against Afghanistan in the group stage. © Reuters Unfortunately, in the Super Four clash against Bangladesh, Malik was looking to build on his innings to aid Pakistan when he got dismissed to a blinder of a catch pulled off by Mashrafe Mortaza. The right-hander was sent back into the hut for 30 runs. But, it was clearly not his fault. The reason Pakistan lost the match and eventually crashed out of the tournament was probably because their batsmen failed to apply themselves. It's needless to say that it was a collective failure and not Malik's fault - something Sania highlighted sarcastically in her tweet.
