  1. Intermittent fasting is a dieting protocol that has been popularized lately by the fitness industry. What Is Intermittent Fasting? It is a period when you restrict food consciously for a set number of hours in a day. Ramzan is an example of intermittent fasting, where people abstain from food or water from sunrise to sunset and then eat and drink. However, in the fitness community, it is not that severe, as you are allowed to consume liquids and zero calorie drinks during your fasting window. But keep in mind, it does not promise mind-bending, overnight, magical results, as pushed by some health influencer or YouTube fitness celeb. Following are some of the benefits of intermittent fasting: 1. It Can Help You Feel Full On A Diet Hunger can be a real problem as calories drop when you are dieting. If you have a bigger appetite, it may not be easy to stick to your diet if you are eating tiny snacks as meals all day. In that case, it would be a much better idea to practice intermittent fasting. © Getty Images There are many ways in which you can do intermittent fasting. The most famous way that people do it is the 16/8 fast, which is also known as the 'lean gains' protocol. In this method, you consume all your calories in an 8-hour window of the day. This window is usually kept in the second half of the day or around your training window so you refuel after exercising and do not go to bed hungry. 2. You Can Be Full Even When Fasting While you are fasting, like I have written above, you are still allowed zero calorie drinks and fluids. This leaves you with plenty of options like water, black coffee, green tea, black tea, salted lemonades or sodas, zero calorie or sugarfree energy drinks, diet soda like diet Coke or diet Pepsi during the fasting window. © Getty Images There was a debacle on these drinks being permitted during intermittent fasting, as people used to think that any sweet taste will spike insulin and break the fast. A study was done on these non-nutritional sweeteners and it was observed that they do not have any strong effects on insulin to break your fast. 3. It Can Help You Be More Focused This is a personal observation of mine. I tend to get a bit lethargic after having food and feel lazy. I myself use intermittent fasting because it helps me be more focussed at work. By restricting foods in a limited window, I do not have to think of food or do not feel lethargic during the day and get most of my work done. I do not practise the traditional intermittent fasting and do something called a protein fasting. I will write on that in a different piece altogether. © Getty Images In conclusion, intermittent fasting can be a great tool for dietary adherence if you understand what exactly you are applying it for. Spoiler alert, it does not magically burn fat or make you a fat burning 'machine' as people try to sell it. If your goal is to lose fat, you need to eat fewer calories than you burn in a day and do it consistently over a period of time. Intermittent fasting is just one way to achieve it. There is nothing magical about it. 2. This article contains major spoilers, proceed with caution! 'Game of Thrones' Season 8, episode 4 just aired and we're slightly disappointed with how the events unfolded. Primarily, because after burning the men and women from the last episode, who'd died in the Battle of Winterfell, there was still no clarity and focus on how everything unravelled. There were celebrations and people trying to figure out if Dany would make a befitting queen. © HBO Yes, that was another daunting and disappointing aspect of the show. Daenerys is obviously relentlessly pissed off at the fact that Jon Snow can take over the Iron Throne after the war is won and of course, that's not settling well with her. That's why she asks him not to disclose who he really is and that's the first trait of madness we witness in her. Sure, she may love him, but a woman known for burning her enemies, clearly consumed by rage and passion, isn't likely to make the wisest or most compassionate of judgments and is not really a queen fit enough for the throne and this episode is the first testimony to that statement. © HBO Here are 3 prominent reasons why Daenerys Targaryen is not a suitable queen for the Seven Kingdoms: (1) Her Interpretation Of Her Rule Is Not Through Kindness Yes, Dany can be kind and unruly but most times, she's been rather blunt with her choice of execution. Burning them to the ground is the only way Dany sees fair judgement and we've seen that in the past episodes. But the bad part is that her advisors and council act on those very instincts as well. For instance, when Missandei used the word 'Dracarys' towards the end, it's way too problematic. © HBO If you remember how Missandei was freed from slavery, you'll know why. Dracarys means dragon fire and it's a command Dany's dragons follow to burn cities or people. When she ordered the dragon to slay with fire, it's definitely a symbol of freedom but synonymous with death and destruction. When Missandei repeated it, it felt like the queen's mad intent to use her dragons to burn everything down was what Missandei picked up on and said fiercely on her death bed as well, as a watchword. Making it seem like neither the queen or her followers really cared for the people of the Seven Kingdoms. (2) She Never Listen To Her Advisors A good leadership skill to have is listening to the advice your advisors bestow upon you, because some may be more experienced in terms of knowledge to give adequate advice. Dany, if you notice, has stopped paying any heed to her hand or to her other advisors. Case in point, when Sansa advices her to give the army time to recuperate from the war, Dany puts her foot down claiming Cersei is waiting for her and her army grows while she waits. Again, when Varys suggests she acts a little more tactical, she practically shuts him down. Her want for the throne is greater than anyone's life and she's far from understanding that, especially through other people. © HBO (3) She's Impulsive As the seasons carry forth and Dany comes closer to the throne, her ways of dealing with things have become more impulsive. Right after Jon told her who he really was, she's been in a hurry to get to the throne somehow. She made no effort to think about what dangers may lie en route King's Landing and made a journey without a strategy or an alliance even and (assumably) lost her dragon in the bargain. During the end, when Missandei was beheaded, Dany didn't show resilience like any good ruler. She showed immense anger and what may seem like her heading towards Drogon, whom she may lose too. If she let's go of her recently acquired impulsive nature, maybe she can think with a bit of tact and apply strategy where it's required. © HBO We're not sure if she will turn out to be like her father after all and lose her life in the battle. The signs seem a little more clear when she unreasonably asks Jon to not reveal his true identity because then they can't be together. Well, maybe the real reason is that she seeks the throne and Jon is a threat, even though he doesn't wish it. What happens next is unforeseeable but let's hope it ends well for Dany. But for now, she's not fit to be the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.
  3. We're still a few days away from the official launch of the new OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, we already know pretty much everything about the phone, including its pricing. Yes, we just learned that the OnePlus 7 Pro will retail in India for a starting price of Rs 49,999 for the base variant of the phone with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. You will also be able to pick up the variant with 8GB RAM and 256G internal storage for Rs 52,999, or you can go all in and get the high-end variant with a whopping 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage for Rs 57,999. Exclusive: Here's the #OnePlus7Pro India Pricing: 6GB+128GB: â¹ 49,999 8GB+256GB: â¹ 52,999 12GB+256GB: â¹ 57,999 Disclaimer- Prices MAY change before launch under some circumstances and I can't be 100% sure about such leaks.#OnePlus7 Pro #OnePlus7Series #OnePlusIndia pic.twitter.com/Rgo2oD8kpA — Ishan Agarwal (@ishanagarwal24) May 4, 2019 The prices are a bit high compared to the previous OnePlus smartphones, but that's not really a surprise considering the fact that we are talking about the Pro variant of the phone here. There's no information about the prices of the regular OnePlus 7, but we think it'll comparatively cheaper. As always, it's worth pointing out that these aren't the official prices confirmed by the company. These prices were put out by Ishan Agarwal, a noted leaker with a good track record. But even he tweeted the pricing with a disclaimer, so we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. By the way, he also noted that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be available in Mirror Grey, Nebula Blue, and Almond color variants. The new phones, as mentioned earlier, will be officially launched in a couple of weeks time, so stay tuned for more details.
  4. Honestly, Mark Ruffalo and spoilers go hand in hand. Sorry Mark, you brought this upon yourself. Our homeboy Mark over here is the weakest link when it comes to giving out spoilers and now, it's become one of the biggest Marvel memes. Well, he did actually give out 'Avengers: Infinity War' spoilers that one time and even got fake fired by the Russo Brothers after apparently giving out more spoilers. Everyone knows how to take advantage of Mark's weakness and have a lot of fun with it. Recently, Mark Ruffalo appeared on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' where Jimmy actually hooked him up to a lie detector test as he asked questions about 'Avengers: Endgame' because otherwise he's proven that he can't be trusted. Poor Mark was already so scared and even said, “I don't want to get fired again!” After basic test questions like 'what's your name' and stuff, then came the real deal, all the Avengers-based questions. Jimmy asked if the Hulk is actually secretly a shapeshifting alien called Skrulls? Remember Skrulls? From 'Captain Marvel'? Yep. Of course, the red light indicating that he's lying lit up. Does this mean he is a Skrull? Wait. What? Next up, “Are there any hidden clues in the latest 'Avengers' trailer that no one has figured out yet?” He was lying, we need to get to work now! Next question was about the Hulk's love life. Jimmy asked, “If Bruce Banner and Black Widow finally get together romantically in the new movie?” Well, are we getting a pairing no one asked for? Now, it's time for a question that he actually answered truthfully. “Is Don Cheadle sexier than you?” Well, he got one at least. Then come the big guns. After bringing out a The Hulk action figure, Jimmy straight up asks “Do you ever play with yourself?” Umm, it's okay Mark, we understand, but what are you doing? Now, the biggest question we've had since 'Infinity War' - “Is everyone who disappeared from the snap from Thanos actually gone or is there any way they can come back?” What an exit! Here's the entire video: He even talked about how everyone thinks Noah Centineo looks like a younger version of him. Well, Noah is on board about playing his dad. Son? https://t.co/PsRgpTmB17 — Noah (@noahcent) March 14, 2019 And then, Mark had some jokes on Instagram. 5. Diljit Dosanjh is probably the only other fashionista in the country who can give Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar a solid run for their money when it comes to maximalism. His raw, rustic appeal is a perfect contrast against the hypebeast appeal his clothes exude. His wardrobe can legit be used as a fashion masterclass when it comes to brand-spotting, and some of them are super expensive (duh). Here are 5 pieces that we love, and probably can never afford. 1. The Dapper Dan Necklace From Gucci © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This one, without a doubt, is Diljit's favourite accessory. He has worn it with almost every statement outfit of his and rocked it every single time. It costs a whopping Rs 2.4 Lakhs. 2. The Oversized Purple Teddy Bear Sweater From Amiri © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh The super playful oversized purple sweater from Amiri with a teddy bear patch costs 1190 Dollars, which when converted to INR, is around Rs 83,500. In its defence, it's really cute. 3. The 'Blame It On My Youth' Leather Jacket By Misbhv © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh Who won't want to own this classic piece with the super funky slogan? They can, of course, if they can spare Rs. 82.500. 4. Balenciaga Oversized Padded Logo-Print Cotton-Poplin Shirt © Instagram/Diljitdosanjh This cotton-poplin shirt with extra-big sleeves from Balenciaga costs INR 1,22,520. 5. Jeans From Gosha Rubchinskiy © Viral Bhayani It's 'not much', but will you be willing to pay INR 36,270 for a pair of jeans? Probably, if you're Diljit! Some day, Paaji, some day.
  6. 'Andaz Apna Apna' is not just a great classic comedy movie but is considered a cult and an iconic movie from 1994. No forced laughter, subtle humour and a light hearted treat packed with a few punches in the form of dialogues. The movie starred Raveena Tandon , Karisma Kapoor, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan in the lead. Years later when remakes are in fashion and from songs to movies, everything is getting a millennial spin of its own, then how can this comedy be far behind? According to a report in Filmfare, the iconic comedy is all set to be reprised with none other than Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan in the lead roles. According to sources, “Producers Vinay and Priti Sinha are planning to do Andaz Apna Apna. It won't be a sequel or remake. Nor will Raj Kumar Santoshi direct it. While they have not decided yet what exactly it will be, they are sure it won't be a remake or a sequel but something as exciting. Raj Kumar Santoshi's Andaz Apna Apna, starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon and Karisma Kapoor, was a cult movie and one cannot mess with the original. One should not touch such a great film and that too 25 years later and destroy it by a remake or sequel. The director is yet to be finalised. AAA reloaded will be a big film and the makers are treading cautiously as they want to finalise everything before making an announcement. Ranveer and Varun, have been approached for their comic flair to play Amar and Prem – who again will be happy-go-lucky characters but not what we saw in the 1994 movie. Both are good friends off screen and will be able to carry off their roles with ease. This will be set in 2019 and promises to be another laugh riot yet with underlying emotions. While the iconic character of Crime Master Gogo (played by Shakti Kapoor earlier) will also make a comeback with a contemporary actor and his character will be more stylised and modern.” © Instagram Who will play the lead actresses is the main question and we really hope the makers consider Sara Ali Khan for one of the roles as the beautiful actress has already won hearts with her skill and looks. Though remakes are a risky business, we trust our 'baba' and Varun to do a good job.
  7. This season of 'Koffee With Karan' has seen some surprising elements in the form of fresh pairings and interesting questions. From Alia coming with Deepika, to Sara Ali Khan playing it cool with daddy Saif, Karan is the perfect host who can make his guests spill the beans on literally anything and everything under the sun. Turns out that Karan has invited Kareena and Priyanka to come together on his show and probably the divas have given their nod for the same. PC is getting married next week so the shoot has been scheduled for the second week of December. © Instagram/Priyankachopra The beauties worked together in 'Aitraaz' and post that it was reported that there was been a cold vibe ever since. In fact, in previous seasons when Kareena was asked what would she ask PC, she jokingly said 'where do you get that accent from' to which PC, when she appeared with Shahid later, replied with 'same place where your boyfriend gets it from'. Well, both have moved past it already but it will super fun and an episode full of some major gossip we hope!
  8. The big day is almost here, finally. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are about to tie the knot in a day. After endless guesswork and conjectures, we finally have some direction on what Baba might be wearing on his big day. Just like last years mega wedding - the behemoth Virushka phenomenon - this year's biggest wedding may also just have Sabyasachi's name written all over it. Not convinced? Take a look here. View this post on Instagram A post shared by yogen shah (@yogenshah_s) on Nov 9, 2018 at 1:56pm PST When it comes to traditional Indian wear, after all, what is the first name that comes to your mind, anyway? Let's just say Ranveer wearing Sabyasachi makes perfect sense, and we are beyond excited. While we still don't know what exactly Baba will be wearing, we definitely can get close in terms of guesswork. Here, we have compiled a list of 10 Sabyasachi groom outfits, that may just be the inspiration behind Ranveer's wedding outfit. 1. Our first pick is this pink number with an elaborate flare. Ranveer loves pink, and he will look stunning in this beige and pink ensemble. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 2. All of us are familiar with Ranveer's fascination with floral prints and patterns. An outfit like this one here does complete justice to that. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 3. Ranveer likes pop colours, and a sophisticated quilted green number like this one here will be perfect. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 4. Ranveer likes experimenting and surprising his fans. What is he goes ahead with a traditional, suave black sherwani with a statement ivory shawl? © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 5. 'Exuberant' should be the primary adjective to describe Ranveer's wedding outfit, and this embroidered sherwani along with a safa, adorned with diamonds, emeralds, and pearls fit the bill perfectly. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 6. Ranveer is fond of maximalism, and what better to opt for than an opulent sherwani, embroidered top to bottom with gorgeous threadwork? © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 7. We think Ranveer will look divine in this Royal Prussian Blue sherwani with a matching shawl. Striking, yet classy. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 8. This rare aesthetic comprising of shades of green and yellow makes for a sherwani that is a definitive head-turner. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 9. Ranveer has a history of wearing white to weddings, and he might just pull a stunner like this one for his own. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial 10. We associate this super rich shade of rose with a typical Sabyasachi lehenga (which the designer fondly has named 'Gulaab'), and Ranveer might just turn out to be the signature Sabyasachi groom - one who will be referred to as the benchmark when it comes to wedding attires for generations to come. © Instagram/Sabyasachiofficial All we can say is that we can't wait.
  9. The most awaited cup of coffee that brews for us is probably not in a café but on the TV screens when Karan Johar grills and juices out some fodder for gossip from his guests on 'Koffee With Karan'. His new season is about to kick start and he has been teasing fans with pictures of the guests that are already filming it. Saif Ali Khan and his daughter Sara are coming together, Alia and Deepika will be seen together, Janhvi will come with Arjun and firecracker Ranveer Singh will be seen with none other than Akshay Kumar. 10. Whether it's cricket or football, the world of sports is not immune to crazy and vivacious celebrations. Throughout the annals of history, the sporting world has given some of the best celebrations known to mankind. While Pakistan seamer Hasan Ali's 'bomb-blast celebration' is quite unique in cricket, French footballer Antoine Griezmann's 'fortnite dance' after scoring a goal in the recently-concluded FIFA World Cup elated the football fans. Similarly, the 3rd One-Day International (ODI) between India and England on 17th July witnessed another celebration - something that was definitely not seen in cricket before. Beaten in the T20 International (T20) series, England pegged India back following an astounding eight-wicket win in the series-deciding ODI at Leeds to eventually clinch the three-match duel 2-1. Joe Root (100*) and Eoin Morgan (88*) stitched a match-winning 186-run partnership for the third wicket to ensure England chased down the total of 256 runs with 33 balls and eight wickets to spare. More importantly, it was an individual triumph for Root who was earlier criticised for his poor run with the willow. Reuters For a man who drew a lot of flak for his inconsistency earlier, Root silenced his critics with back-to-back hundreds (having scored an unbeaten 113 in 2nd ODI). But, that wasn't enough, surely not for Root. The right-hander - who needed four runs to clinch his ton, while England needed just one to win the game - romped to his 13th ODI century after swatting Hardik Pandya through midwicket for a four. It was undoubtedly a special knock which understandably instigated a special celebration - one that sent England fans into delirium and Indian cricketers into a state of mourning. After reaching his ton and securing a deserving win for his side, Root imitated the iconic 'mic drop' celebration with his bat. Root out. ð pic.twitter.com/VTv3KkUdJT — England Cricket (@englandcricket) July 17, 2018 While many enjoyed his unique celebration, others including his skipper Eoin Morgan felt that "he made a fool of himself". The 'mic drop' is a gesture that signals the end of a statement, so definitive it cannot be followed. From rappers to stand-up comedians, the gesture has been popularised by many famous figures including Barack Obama who uttered 'Obama out' during his famous 'mic drop' incident at his final White House correspondents' dinner as US President. Root was probably trying to assert his authority when he introduced the 'mic drop' celebration in international cricket. We can always argue he made a fool of himself or not, but the interesting point is whether his unique celebration will come back to haunt him or his team as they gear up for the much-anticipated five-match Test series against India? Going purely by history, the answer is probably yes. The modern-day cricketers are not afraid to express themselves - whether it's on the field, or off it. These guys don't forget when their ego has been bruised and, needless to say, they are really good at returning favours. Back in 2015, West Indies cricketer Marlon Samuels gave England's Ben Stokes a send-off by saluting him as took the long walk back into the hut. Twitter That moment might have been erased from the memories of fans, but neither Stokes, nor England forgot the antics of the Windies batsman. And, that's exactly why, a month later, when Stokes smashed the fastest Test century at Lord's against New Zealand, England dressing room including Root emulated Samuels' salute to hail the heroics of their teammate. And, who can forget Andrew Flintoff's chest-baring celebration at the hallowed Wankhede stadium where he took off his jersey and swung it over his head after England's gripping five-run win in Mumbai in 2002 that helped England draw the six-match ODI series 3-3 against India. Then, five months later, Sourav Ganguly returned the favour with his own shirtless celebration from the Lord's balcony after India's triangular ODI series win. Now, that was the old crop of Indian cricketers who weren't generally associated with such explosive and animated antics. But, that doesn't mean their ego didn't get bruised every time they were taunted. The culture in the Indian team, back in the day, was quite different. It was more about adhering to the spirit of the gentleman's game. But, the new breed of Indian cricketers is quite the opposite. Reuters It's not that they don't believe in maintaining the spirit of cricket, but the ever-increasing level of competition saw the Indian cricket team undergoing a massive change. Under the tutelage of Virat Kohli, the new-age Team India adopted and has, thereon, thrived on the aggressive brand of cricket. Today's Team India, just like their mercurial skipper, thrives on criticism and knows how to use it for the greater good. They are neither afraid to express their emotions, nor they believe in backing down from a fight. And, if the rise of the Indian cricket team in the recent years is anything to go by, this lot doesn't tend to forget when their ego has been bruised. Twitter/@ICC While Root might have given the world of cricket it's very first 'bat drop' celebration and, for a team that was tipped to sweep the ODI series, there's no denying that the Englishman's antics and his team's triumph would've stung the visitors a little more, but knowing Kohli and his men, the subcontinent giants are more than capable of taking it in their stride to script a spirited show in the upcoming Test series. Root might be cherishing his 'bat drop' now, but Kohli-led Team India is well-equipped to use it as a source of inspiration to better their performance in the much-anticipated Test series. So, don't be surprised if you see Kohli or any of his teammate emulating Root's celebration to rub it in during the gruelling Test duels.
  11. “It's so special to do something with the national team. We have been waiting for a number of years to do something great with Croatia. Now we are finally near such an achievement and we will leave every drop of sweat on the pitch to achieve our goal.” These were the words of Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic during the press meet ahead of their semifinals clash against England. And, on 12th July, his pivotal winning goal propelled Croatia into the FIFA World Cup final. With the likes of Modric, Rakitic, Perisic, and of course Mandzukic, the Balkan side were the toughest opponents England had faced in an otherwise seamless campaign in Russia. The Three Lions had a stronger team on paper, but the balance and experience that the Croatians brought to the table, eventually proved a tad too much for Gareth Southgate's men to handle. © Reuters Amongst multiple key individual battles, the contest between the strikers - Mandzukic and Harry Kane - of the two competing sides was arguably an exciting prospect. Both the players have similar strengths – their speed and clinical finishes. Having scored six goals in the tournament, Kane is undoubtedly a 'Golden Boot' contender. But, despite just two goals to his name in Russia, Mandzukic's strikes are probably the ones that matter a lot, perhaps more than Kane's award. © Reuters Kane has been one of the most effective assets to the English side, but call it England's luck or misfortune in this case, all of Kane's goals came against relatively weaker sides, i.e. subsequently in situations not as critical as it was yesterday. In contrast, the Balkan skipper scored when it was needed the most. This gives way to the question of what holds more significance? The 'Golden Boot' or the golden moment? © Reuters The Three Lions skipper not only missed a goal, he missed an opportunity to qualify his team to the finals and an opportunity to win the World Cup for England after a span of 52 years. There is a possibility of winning awards for both, but it will be the 'Golden Boot' for Kane and undoubtedly the most memorable World Cup for Mandzukic. While it will be a first World Cup final appearance for Croatia, which could become even more historic if they go on to win it, the story for Kane-led England will be: 'so close, yet so far'.
