  1. Following the ODI series against the visiting Australian cricket team comes as a wake-up call for the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI). It gives a hint of how dire a situation they are in right now and what kind of competition they are looking at in the ICC World Cup 2019 come June. It was also a reminder of how badly do they still need Mahendra Singh Dhoni to be included in the final roster. Virat Kohli's Commander In Chief © Reuters Yes, Virat Kohli has proven his worth maybe a million times both as a batsman and a leader and his efforts were even recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) when they honoured the 30-year-old with three of the most prestigious awards in the game - Men's Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year and ODI Cricketer of the Year while also naming him the captain of the Test and ODI Teams of the Year. However, the man himself has agreed to the fact that he can afford the luxury of fielding at the boundary whenever Dhoni plays from his team. A big fan of the former skipper's ability to lead, Kohli trusts Dhoni's decision-making, especially in crunch time, when the match is on the line. Kohli's frustration and anger in the final overs of Indian bowling in the fifth ODI were enough to understand how gravely he missed having 'Mahi Bhai' by his side. Skills Behind The Stumps © Reuters Rishabh Pant may turn out to be a great substitute for MSD in due course of time and as his childhood coach Tarak Sinha very rightly said that it is unfair to compare a seasoned veteran like Dhoni to a fresher like Pant. Having said that, Pant will get a lot of chances to brush up his skills behind the wicket. For now, at least till the World Cup is over, India can't afford to have the kind of slip-ups the 21-year-old did in the last two ODIs. "Yeh aank band karke rokega. Dusra waala daal sakta hai isko." MS Dhoni from behind the stumps reads Boult, suggests Kuldeep to bowl a googly. Kuldeep obliges and Rohit takes a simple catch at first slip. NZ have been bowled out for 157. #CricketMeriJaan #NZvIND — Mumbai Indians (@mipaltan) January 23, 2019 India also missed how Dhoni reads the game and the batsman's mind and instructs the bowlers accordingly. Success of Indian spinners in the recent past has a lot to do with Dhoni's observations from behind the stumps. On the contrary, his absence from the roster has led to bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav and Kedar Jadhav being thrashed by the batsmen from Down Under. Dependable On The Crease © Reuters His capabilities as a batsman also needs to be taken into account. Albeit his consistency to score big runs and hit long shots has gone down drastically in recent days, but one can still bet on Dhoni's ability to stay on the crease. During the T20I and ODI series in New Zealand and the partnership between him and Jadhav, Dhoni made sure that his side doesn't lose any more wickets while enabling his partner to score big runs on strike. His Locker-Room Aura © Reuters Finally, just the mere presence of a personality like Dhoni in the locker room brings a sense of stability to the team. After the win in the first ODI, Jadhav openly advocated that notion: “Every time I see 'Mahi bhai', it instills confidence in me. That sort of aura is like, that you see him and feel that 'I will deliver today'. He has the knack of getting the best out of every player and that's what everybody loves about him.”
  2. Disha Patani may be on the 'wanted' list of all movie makers right now (courtesy her insane good looks and of course sheer talent and hard work), but there was a time when the young girl from Bareilly was a struggling actress like most of her contemporaries. 3. The quotations for this story was taken from an interview originally conducted by Ravi Gupta for MensXP Hindi. Love is said to be the biggest blessing of life, but when it happens to be one-sided, the same can turn into someone's biggest nightmare. On one hand, where love is supposed to make us feel like a million bucks, a love gone wrong can make someone lose faith in life altogether. While love makes someone feel confident and alive, it can turn someone's life into a curse for not feeling the same way. People have a gazillion ways of showing someone that they love them, but when that love changes into an obsession, the very feeling of affection begins to spread like acid within a person's heart, turning everything in its way into a living nightmare. Crazed by the thought of attaining the beloved, people begin to lose sight of all reason and logic, and give into their inner demons. (c) Caters News Agency Such is the story of Pramodini, who was caught between the love and obsession of an army officer. Odisha's Pramodini Roul 'Rani' was 16-years-old when an Army man changed her life forever. This man wasn't her prince charming by any right, but had come as the devil in disguise. The paramilitary soldier attacked Rani by throwing acid all over her face and body because she had rejected his marriage proposal. In a matter of seconds, everything faded into nothingness - right from her skin to her confidence, everything melted away. The beauty that brought young men to their knees and numerous suitors to her doors, was replaced by scars and painful tears. 2009 turned into the year that not only saw “friends” and “well wishers” turn their backs on her, she lost her eyesight in the attack and was left bedridden for years to come. What was left of that fateful incident was a shadowy life and her widowed mother. (c) Pramodini & Saroj Rani had been in 12th standard, and an army camp had been set up close to her college. That's how the paramilitary soldier first saw Rani. He fell for her in no time, and went to her house with a marriage proposal. Since Rani was merely sixteen years old and underage, her family declined the proposal. Rani was unaware of this entire development all along, and was caught unaware when her life went for a toss within moments! One day while Rani was cycling back home from college along with her cousin brother, the soldier came riding on a bike with his friend and poured acid on Rani's head. Rani recalls that day and says, “the pain that I experienced then is inexplicable. We had registered an FIR after the attack and the police took my statement. But that soldier began to threaten us, and we had to withdraw the case eventually.” Remembering those dreadful years of her life after the attack, Rani says, “one-sided love and obsession took away everything from me. Beauty, dance, happiness and even eyesight, that demon didn't leave me with a reason to live. My relatives spoke of feeding me poison, and even I used to wonder what was the point in living. Thinking about love was equally impossible. But Saroj has given me second lease of life filled with happiness. Now I don't hate Valentine's Day, or men, instead I love it all more than ever.” (c) Facebook Between her surgeries and stay in the hospital, Pramodini never imagined there could come a time when she would find love standing at her door. Rani and Pramod Kumar Sahoo first saw each other during one of Rani's many visits to the hospital. Pramod was working as a medical representative at the time, and was a friend of one of the nurses who was treating Rani at a private hospital. She introduced them, and soon every time Saroj visited the hospital, he would check on Rani. Over time as their funds got exhausted, the hospital began to push for Rani's discharge, stating that she was not showing any improvements and her chances of getting better were low. When Saroj heard about this update, he took it as a personal challenge to help Rani get better. He began to care for her like an earnest friend, and even had to give up his job in the process. Saroj shares, “I decided to help Rani get better for the sake of humanity. I began to give her more time than I gave myself. I helped her walk around and kept instilling confidence in her every time she gave up. At that time she needed the support of a good friend, as much as the medicines - something she wasn't getting at the hospital or from her family.” (c) Pramodini & Saroj After spending a couple of years with Rani, Saroj slowly began to fall for her and wanted to confess his love. All the while his friends discouraged him to make the move and said things like, “you'll get such pretty girls, and you're falling for her. You've lost your mind.” But Saroj knew what he wanted and he decided to follow his heart. He proposed to Rani on 14th February 2016, and decided to share their lives with each other, and move beyond what friends, family and society had to say. Talking about her life with Saroj, Rani says that, “love is very powerful. Nothing can stand in its way. Saroj's love helped to heal me from within, something that had become necessary. Life would have been no fun with 80% burns and 20% eyesight, if not for Saroj's company. I feel alive once more because of him.” Today that couple is in a live-in relationship, and share a rented apartment together. Getting married isn't Saroj's priority now, since he wants to save and gather money for a few more immediate surgeries that Rani needs. Once that is taken care of, they plan to get married and settle down sometime in the next two years. (c) Pramodini & Saroj However, this togetherness has come at a cost for Saroj. Since his family didn't approve of his relationship with Rani, Saroj has had to settle for a life with the love of his life without his family's blessings. “As of now my mother and a few other family members haven't been able to accept Rani completely. So it wouldn't be right to take her home right now. My mother keeps suggesting that I stay away from her, reminds me about the society's empty talks, but I keep such useless talks away from my life.” Together, the couple today runs the #StopAcidAttacks campaign that raises awareness and raises funds for acid attack survivors. Rani and Saroj only have one message for the society, “we need to stop blaming and ostracising the victims instead of holding the perpetrators accountable for their actions. (c) Pramodini & Saroj Saroj's love and constant support has given Rani a second chance at life, one that is full of possibilities and a better future together. At a time when Rani had almost given up, Saroj's love brought her back and gave her the strength to fight back and seize life by the collar. What an inspiration the couple has been!
  4. One Love. Who would have thought a simple phrase such as this one could hold such depth of meaning? Yet, it also finds resonance in the iconic Bob Marley song by the same name. If you don't happen to remember the lyrics to that song, you might want to go through it to understand how this universal emotion is our only hope when it comes to guiding the mankind to a better place where “one love” suffices for all. A love without judgements and reservations. One love that's selfless and where acceptance comes easy, just how it is meant to be - something Marley manages to convey so easily in not so many words. Love does not differentiate between the hearts that wants to love, and who it wants to shower that love on. Love is just the same for all of us who are willing to feel it, and give it a chance regardless of what comes in the way. (c) Meghna Sahoo Such is the story of Meghna Sahoo, a transgender woman, and her husband Basudeba Nayak who went against societal diktats and reservations, to give their love the chance it deserved. When Meghna married Basudeba in 2017, she became Odisha's first transgender woman to tie the knot. It turned into a moment of celebration for the transgender community in the state, and have them the power to hope for their own share of love in life. Meghna and Basudeba's love story began through a chance interaction on Facebook. Basudeba happened to be one of Meghna's followers of Facebook, and had found out about Meghna because of her involvement in social activism. But the possibility that she should chance upon his private messages to her, from amongst the hundreds she received regularly, is a play of fate. Recalling her first interaction with Basudeba, Meghna says that, “We had never met each other before the first time we spoke to each other of Facebook. One day when I turned on my Facebook chat after a long time, I noticed that someone named Basudeba had been messaging me everyday on Facebook. At that time he had been going through some personal issues and he was reaching out to me to seek help.” (c) BCCL This forms the premise of Meghna and Basudeba's first virtual association. She also noticed that all this time when she failed to respond to him, he would regularly drop her good morning or good night messages. For the next two years, Basudeba continued trying to speak to her at various points, but couldn't get through. Finally, when Basudeba's messages caught Meghna's attention, she responded. The messages ranged from normal greetings to even marriage proposals. At that point Meghna was already in a relationship with another guy, who said he loved her, but wouldn't make their relationship public or go out with her like regular couples do. He even had concerns that transgender women cannot become mothers and that the society wouldn't accept them. This sour experience cautioned Meghna to not take Basudeba's proposals too seriously either. However, after they began to interact more and more, she came to know about Basudeba's story. “He told me that back in 2011 his wife had eloped with her lover, leaving behind their 10-month old boy. Even after that point we would talk every now and then.” (c) Meghna Sahoo This went on for some time and then suddenly Basudeba proposed to Meghna once again for marriage. But this time Meghna didn't want to get fooled and wanted to see if Basedeba meant what said. She says, “when he proposed this time, I asked him to get his family to bring the marriage proposal to my family. But since his parents had passed away by then, he spoke to his elder brother and sister-in-law. Initially his family was against it and didn't approve of their brother getting married to a kinnar.” However, his family's concern about “log kya kahenge” didn't stop Basudeb from declaring that if he has to marry it will have to be to Meghna and no one else. “He told his family that he really liked me and wished to get married. His other concern was that another woman might mistreat his son, and he didn't want that. His other motivation was that since Meghna couldn't bear children she would be able to give his son her undivided love.” (c) OdishaTV Meghna admits that this last reason didn't hurt her as much as it should because she thought, “at least I would become a mother to a child who needs a mother's affection. Besides, this could also set an example for others to follow. Two lives got better due to this marriage - a child got a mother and a transgender woman got a loving family. Such a possibility for others could better so many lives. That is why I agreed to accept his proposal.” Even until the last moment Basudeba's family didn't give their consent to the wedding. But eventually they gave up and Basudeba and Meghna finally got married on 26th January 2017 with the blessing of both the families. Talking about her wedding day, Meghna shared that “more than ten thousand people came to attend the wedding. Many politicians, social activists and advocates came to attend the wedding even without invitation and gave us their blessings.” (c) Incredibleorissa Meghna and Basudeba just completed two years as a married couple and Meghna is living a happy married life with her husband, son and in-laws. She admits that arguments do crop up every now and then, but she and Basudeba always reach a middle ground, and work things out. However, she admits that her bond with her son is much stronger than that with her own husband. “I have bonded very well with my son and we love each other dearly. I feel I am more closer to him than my husband.” Basudeba for his part has stood by Meghna through it all and has never paid heed to society's judgements. Currently, Meghna is working with an NGO and also became first transgender woman to work with Ola as a driver. Meghna also holds an MBA in HR and Management. Meghna's lone motivation is to change the society's mindset regarding transgender community and inspire other transgenders to live their dream and build a better future for themselves without any inhibitions. Meghna's journey and story has inspired many other transgenders to turn their lives around and hope for the first time, to live their dreams and find the love of their life who would be willing to accept them for who they are and love them.
  5. Love is a four letter word so powerful, it can weave together the myriad threads of the most bedazzling emotion one is capable of feeling in their lifetime. It is more than just four English alphabets scribbled beside the name that makes our heart skip a beat every time it is mentioned. It will catch us by surprise when we are least expecting it, and render us speechless at a moment when we would rather spill our guts out. Plaguing us with an unceasing giddy restlessness and excitement that makes going through our days a torment - made bearable only with the sighting of the person our heart seems to be beating for all of a sudden. Love is called magical simply because when we are in love, we can never be too sure what the next moment could bring to our life - while we stand powerless against its bittersweet onslaught. (c) Pooja & Varun To love is to hold and cherish, protect and care, with a promise to be fair and honest, not only to our beloved but also towards the relationship we build together. Love in all its beauty is to accept, support and encourage the happiness and the well-being of that one individual we would move heaven and earth for. But to love is to also face the demons of your lover and stand by their side as they fight it off. To love is getting through those ugly fights and misunderstandings that come from feeling too much, and too deeply. To love is to see the person you care deeply for at their weakest or lowest, and loving them anyway. No questions asked, and no strings attached, simply because seem like life's greatest blessing. Varun and Pooja's journey towards love is made up of all that - the good, the bad and the ugly - and their love has come out strong, oh so strong against every test of time. (c) Pooja & Varun The couple met each other through a common friend. Pooja recalls her first meeting like it was yesterday, “My friend told me about this guy who would be perfect for me and she wanted to set me up with him. I did not pursue it at the time, but one day when I was catching up with an ex, my friend invited Varun there without even telling me. the minute that he walked in, I could not take my eyes off him. I was intrigued to know him more. We just got to talking and started meeting every day.” However, Varun has a different (and may we add more interesting) story to share. “We met through a common friend, rather it was a set up for which I had to coax that friend for a month to introduce me to her”, shares Varun. Now that's some memorable “coincidental” meeting the two had, and while it's pretty clear that they hit it right off from the go, wait till you hear about their first “official” date. (c) Pooja & Varun “I asked him out on a date. We had been talking for a week by then, and I suggested going out for a movie. However, Varun insisted that we went out for coffee instead. I agreed thinking a movie wouldn't give us enough time to talk, but Varun made the suggestion because he felt that a movie date would only last for 3 hours, whereas a coffee date can go on an entire day. I just couldn't stop smiling after that.” Again, the first date was memorable for Varun for a totally different reason. “We went to Barista in Basant Lok Market, and personally it turned into a disaster at the end since I had forgotten to get my wallet.” Their journey only gets better from here on. They went on to date each other for the next 11 years, and sure enough, faced a number of ups and downs during this time. Their courtship had all the elements of a budding romantic relationship, but it was made a little difficult by Pooja's anxiety issues which she never imagined would turn into a full-blown disaster, coupled with panic attacks. (c) Pooja & Varun Recalling the time when she came to face her demon for the first time, Pooja says, “I had been dating Varun for 3 yrs when he decided to get a job in UAE and moved there. This posed as an unbearable change and the loneliness caused my anxiety to become full-blown panic attacks.” The distance took such toll on Pooja's mental well being that she would cry endlessly and began to fall sick. Through it all, Varun was right by her side despite the miles separating them. “He used to call me for long hours at night to calm my panic attacks. He spent half his salary on calling me long distance to pacify my fears. Once he was back, we went through a time where I could not leave my house. I used to feel ill and anxious if I did. Varun and I had our dates at home those days. He used to sit with me and my family. Watch movies all day”, shares Pooja. (c) Pooja & Varun Even when things got difficult, Varun never bailed on Pooja. He stood right beside her like a pillar of strength and helped her fight her battle all the way. Talking about all those moments that Varun made bearable for her, and ultimately helped her to get better, Pooja adds that “There were also times where I could not travel or stay away from home even for a night. Varun also sacrificed those trips with friends so that I wouldn't feel like I was missing out.” Varun decided to help Pooja deal with her reality better, and that's when “he came up with the plan to make me feel comfortable with night stays outside the house and that is when we started taking 1-day trips together. We went to Agra once and I had a severe panic attack there. He stayed awake all night long hugging me while I kept wailing the night away. No questions asked. No words were spoken.” (c) Pooja & Varun This was the moment that changed everything for Pooja. She was willing to give her all to anything that would make her better and stronger as a person. She told us, “when my partner was also missing out on things because of my disability it gave me a purpose to overcome anxiety. What got me better was his constant presence letting me know that he has my back always.” That's not all, Pooja's acknowledgement and gratitude is proof that when done right, there are lots of ways how a supportive partner and a loving relationship can help someone who is suffering from severe episodes of anxiety. “Varun gave me that space where there was no pressure to be normal. He took my anxious nature as my normal and that just gave me the time to try cognitive therapy and the will to better myself. Now we travel 3 or 4 times a year which was once a dream for me. I am still dealing with it one step at a time but we have made great progress.” (c) Pooja & Varun After 11 years of dating each other, the couple finally got married in 2017, which happens to be their most dear milestone. Pooja shares how the grew as a couple through the years, “we have been through every test of time. From being in a long distance to being in the same city but living far. From seeing each other every day to seeing each other once a week. From accompanying each other for our respective exams to managing to get a degree at the end of it all. From taking risks in life to being scared even to leave the house. From facing panic attacks to going FOR counselling. Every hurdle thrown our way has been faced together with an abundance of patience and we are still moving ahead and dealing with life together.” (c) Pooja & Varun For Varun, Pooja continues to be his biggest cheerleader. Someone he can trust and rely on. He shares that, “When the shit hits the roof, she is the one you need by your side. She is cool as a cucumber under pressure.” Varun also has just one an important to share with all those men who have partners who also suffer from anxiety. “Things become better with patience and perseverance”, quips Varun, and we presume that this along with his love for Pooja must have helped the couple sail through the tough situations and come out as winners in life and as lovers. More power to the happily married couple!
  6. There will come a point in your life when you will start spotting white strands of hair in your beard. For some people, it will be sooner rather than later. Whenever that starts to happen, you have two options before you: you can either resort to hiding these strands with temporary methods to make your mane and beard seem a perfect black, or embrace nature's calling and wear salt and pepper on your sleeve with pride. Either of the two options are great. But hey, if the damage is far worse and temporary dyes are not helping hide the damage, here is some inspiration that proves that these beards are definitely hot! 1. 8. Whatever style gaffes Suniel Shetty might be a victim of during the '90s, he has more than made up for all of that now. He probably is the fittest dad in Bollywood right now with grown up kids, and his fashion game is so on point that the only proper analogy would be that of aging wine. From giving 25-year-olds a run for their money to giving SRK style complex, this man is a force to reckon with. He just proved it once again by attending Amit Thackeray's wedding reception wearing a plain white dhoti and making it look runway-ready. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani The white cotton dhoti is perhaps the most 'Indian' outfit of all times, when it comes to menswear, but it is terribly underrated. Be it the comfort, the grace, or the raw, natural, masculine appeal it exudes - there is no other outfit that can score better. Suniel Shetty clearly understands it, as he stood tall, wearing a simple dhoti amongst the glam and glitz around, and stealing everyone's thunder nonetheless. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani A white kurta and a cotton dhoti not only makes for the most comfortable outfit ever, it is also the most regal one - in a sophisticated, subtle manner. The fact that he chose to wear a pair of brown Kolhapuris with it, and kept it comfy yet classy, shows that his style game is as effortlessly functional as it is smart. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani All we can say is the new crop of Bollywood youngsters need a style lesson from him about how to keep it simple yet stunning, urgently. Kudos!
  9. Baba Sehgal is one of the most talented people out there but he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. I'm offended for him. Who else can come up with so many great rhymes all the time? Whose Twitter account is just in rhymes? Everyone is raving about 'Gully Boy' and Ranveer Singh right now but we're going to celebrate the OG Baba Sehgal because let's be real, even Gully Boy ain't got nothing on him. Fun fact, 'Apna Time Aayega' is about Ranveer waiting to reach Baba Sehgal's level. Okay all jokes aside, we know Baba Sehgal's pretty outrageous and it's not just limited to his songs; his Twitter account is genuinely hilarious with so many unexpected rhymes and it's just so much fun to read. So, I thought I would get everyone to enjoy and appreciate this man's tweets with me. Here are the best ones: Here's a message for the weekend. 10. Tom Cruise is a man of unparalleled and unmatched talent and is one of those few actors who are ready to go to extreme levels to give their 100% to any movie. Honestly, sometimes I feel that living like Cruise, for even a day, is like walking on live landmines (with safety measures though, if that helps!) via GIPHY After crashing into a wall in London and getting badly injured during the shoot, performing high-octane stunts like HALO jump despite an injury, dangling from a plane, jumping 25000 feet over 100 times to get one stunt right for 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout', Tom Cruise is back in action once again as Ethan Hunt. Summer 2021 and Summer 2022 pic.twitter.com/V6SNvZx2La — Tom Cruise (@TomCruise) January 15, 2019 Tom Cruise aka Agent Ethan Hunt has accepted two new impossible missions, which are expected to hit the theatres in the summer of 2021 and 2022. Both the movies will be shot back to back. Christopher McQuarrie, who directed 2018's 'Mission Impossible: Fallout' and 2015's 'Mission: Imossible - Rogue Nation', will wear the Director's hat for MI 7 and MI 8 as well. McQuarrie tweeted saying "Missions: Accepted #MissionImpossible". Missions: Accepted#MissionImpossible — Christopher McQuarrie (@chrismcquarrie) January 14, 2019 Every time I talk about Tom Cruise and MI series, I can't help but brag about how much respect this man commands, for pulling off life-risking stunts. If there's anyone who can ever beat Tom Cruise in pulling off difficult scenes, it's probably Tom Cruise himself.
  11. It's a rather sad day for the film fraternity as actor-turned-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has been diagnosed with early stages of throat cancer. But the good news is, the man is battling the disease head on and is in full spirits, dealing with everything patiently. (c)Twitter While Rakesh is dealing with cancer, he's certainly lucky to have son Hrithik Roshan by his side, boosting his spirits and making the frenzied moment a bit more relaxed, by giving him all the support he needs. The 69-year-old filmmaker was diagnosed with 'squamous cell carcinoma of the throat' (throat cancer) and he will be undergoing surgery today for the same. What's rather astonishing in a good way is the fact that Mr. Roshan, despite having a major surgery today, didn't miss out on 'gym time' with his actor son Hrithik, and both took a selfie together right after their workout! This possibly has to be the best will-power in place and we're loving the strength he's fighting the disease with. On Instagram and Twitter, Hrithik shared a picture with Rakesh captioned- “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldnt miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him. .Love you Dad.” A post shared by hrithik_roshanðµ (@hritikroshanfanclub) on Jan 7, 2019 at 9:24pm PST Admirers and fans Tweeted and showered some good wishes too. Apart from that, the father son duo have also worked on 'Kaho Na Pyaar Hai', 'Koi Mil Gaya' and 'Kaabil' together and we certainly want to see more of them this year. (c)Twitter Here's hoping the surgery and the healing process pan out rather well and Rakesh Roshan recovers promisingly. After all, we love the fighter within him.
  12. 2018 has been Vicky Kaushal's year. The way the lad spiralled into the collective consciousness of everyone - right from the audience to the, well, women of the country, 'commendable' seems to be an understatement as an adjective. We are all looking forward to his next venture, 'Uri', the promotions for which he has been aggressively involved in. We have always loved his outfits, and it was expected that he would be wearing 'tough' clothes, for adhering to the theme of the movie. However, his latest appearance proved that 'tough' can be colourful, fun, and fashionable. Look at his footwear. © Instagram/amandeepkaur87 Usually, men's boots tend to be rather dull - having only brown, black, or olive as their colour. However, Vicky wore a pair from Woodland that is blue, and has a delightful red sole, along with red detailing. Plus, those extra-long beige shoelaces are adding to the overall playfulness of the pair. If that doesn't burst the bubble that tough boots are boring, we don't know what else can. © Instagram/vickykaushal09 We are in love with the casual layered outfit Vicky is sporting. The maroon shirt from Pero along with the Tommy Hilfiger Denim jacket gives him a super urban street edge, something that complements his height wonderfully. © Instagram/amandeepkaur87 All we can say is we can't wait to see him experiment more with his outfits, as he clearly can pull off anything.
  13. When it comes to being popular, no one can compete with the Pataudi/Khan family. As if Saif and Kareena weren't enough, along came the whirlwind called Taimur, and took the nation by storm. Post that, Sara's spunky appearance on Koffee along with her mature performance in Kedarnath got her a huge fan base already. One person in the family, who hasn't yet been under the pap lights, is Ibrahim. His latest Instagram post, however, tells us that is going to change soon. Take a look. © Instagram/iakpataudi Ibrahim is already famous as Saif's taller carbon copy. He looks exactly like a younger version of his dad - only with better clothes. © Instagram/iakpataudi While Sara looks like a young Amrita, Ibrahim has the royal charm that Saif is all about, and we can't help but think that he has all the potential to make a kickass Bollywood star - at least superficially, for now. © Instagram/iakpataudi We like his old school style game, that is reminiscent of the Pataudi brand of sophistication. We love the subtle shirt along with the bow he is sporting here. © Instagram/iakpataudi What we find really interesting is that despite looking exactly like Saif, he is way taller. Plus, he has the unusual exotic features that will easily set him apart in an industry already crowded with good-looking men. © Twitter © Twitter © Instagram/iakpataudi All the best, Ibrahim!

  15. The latest season of Koffee With Karan is perhaps the most special of them all, because in no other season, so many new faces were introduced. From Sara to Jahnvi to Ishaan, the next crop of Bollywood stars are all here, and everyone is excited. Ishaan Khattar just shot for KWK along with elder brother Shahid Kapoor, and the pictures are out. We have always maintained that Shahid and Ishaan are one good-looking pair of siblings, but our belief just got a solid footing with their latest pictures from the show. Take a look. © Instagram/shahidkapoor Don't they look amazing? We're digging the plaid and striped coordinated aesthetic. This is perhaps the most fashionable Ishaan has ever looked. The bold double breasted jacket with a statement hem paired with those black and white pants with vertical stripes are doing wonders for his lean frame. © Instagram/ishaan95 However, Shahid clearly is not ready to give up his throne yet, when it comes to being the definitive fashion superstar of B-Town. He wore a layered outfit with plaid detailing and patchwork, that definitely was more than enough to retain the spot. © Instagram/shahidkapoor KJo, of course, couldn't be far behind in that game, now could he? He was all dapper in a black Gucci jacket with gold trimmings. Plus those golden rimmed glasses - let's just say Karan sure can clean up well when he wants to. © Instagram/shahidkapoor All we can say is we love how fashion is getting redefined every single day in Bollywood. Looking good, boys!
  16. They say, things change once you get married. If you didn't believe in it earlier, maybe it's time for you to give in, and start believing now, because we have proof. Ranveer Singh is a married man now, and he has changed, conspicuously so. We never thought this day would come, but it did, and how. Ranveer seems to have given up his outlandish sense of aesthetic and embraced an incredibly demure style statement. His latest airport look sure says that. © Instagram Ranveer is known for his flamboyant, crazy, and sometimes, outright shocking sense of style. Most of his past airport looks are a testament to that. Honestly, we thought that was never going to change, but clearly, we were mistaken. Deepika seems to have finally managed to tame the insane style monster. © Instagram However, is that a bad thing? Not at all! Not that we disliked Ranveer's signature (we honestly admired it), but we are in love with this mature, sophisticated new avatar. Dressed head to toe in Sabyasachi, Ranveer looked like a legit prince out to greet the world post his wedding. © Instagram We are in love with the Lotus Jade printed Nehru jacket in pink and sky-blue. The fact that he has paired it with a milk-white chintz kurta pyjama shows us that he's ready to embrace marital bliss in perfect harmony with Deepika's sophisticated sense of aesthetic, just like her demeanour. © Instagram What we are genuinely surprised (and impressed with tbh) is his choice of footwear. Ranveer has never chosen footwear that is not extremely conspicuous in the most literal sense of the word. Here, however, he has chosen to sport a sophisticated, super classy, rather princely pair of beige loafers, that go perfectly well with his outfit, as well as complement Deepika's red and gold jootis. © Instagram All the best for the new journey, Ranveer!
  17. We've all seen the biggest Marvel Cinematic Movie ever – 'Avengers: Infinity War', of course – and we all have been personally victimized by the ending, but it's time to get through that painful ending in a new language. The Hindi version of the biggest movie of the year has released today and obviously it's worth a watch. I mean, every Hollywood movie when dubbed in Hindi gets even better, even more hilarious and it's not like Infinity War needed any improvement but everyone needs a little bit of Tony Stark calling Spiderman 'Chhotu'. Here's the entire scene in Hindi: Rocket Racoon gets even sassier in Hindi. If Spider-Man is 'chhotu', then Tony Stark is Gurudev, obviously. This line sounds even better in Hindi, tbh. 'Prithvi ka shutter down hai' is way better than 'Earth is closed today'. 'Daaku aur haseena' is like an almost literal translation but it still sounds better than the original. Here's the Hindi trailer if you haven't seen it yet! When you have funny dialogues, you obviously have some memes about it. 'Infinity War' meets 'Sacred Games'. No one knows! Exactly. Yes, kaun ho? Yep. Anushka makes an appearance, obviously. 'Avengers: Infinity War' is re-releasing in Hindi today, so don't forget to check it out!
  18. Varun Dhawan's 'Sui Dhaaga' promotion run has seen so many out-of-the-box outfit combinations, that it's difficult to pick one out as our favourite. However, we might just have found the one, post his latest appearance in a kurta pyjama. The thing that sets this particular look apart is the fact that he has chosen to not tread the beaten track by choosing jootis or Kolhapuris as his footwear. We'll come to that in a bit, but for now, we can't stop marvelling at the beauty that Manish Malhotra has created here. When was the last time you ran into a kurta so intricate and, well, pretty? Plus, it's yellow! © Instagram/The Vainglorious Varun attended the 'Eco-friendly' Ganpati event in this attire, accompanied by Anushka Sharma, who looked ravishing in black. However, when it comes to outfits, we sure can't move our glance from the beautifully embroidered kurta our homie is wearing here. Be it a Pooja or any other occasion where ethnic-wear is preferred (especially something with parents involved), this is pretty much the benchmark for a man in terms of an appropriate outfit. © Viral Bhayani Now, about what makes the ensemble stand out. Varun could have chosen a pair of jootis or Kolhapuris to make the whole outfit purely Indian, but he chose not to. He instead wore a pair of black leather shoes from Tod's, which gave the outfit a whole new dimension that many of us were unaware of. Shoes do look great with Kurta Pyjama even when you aren't wearing an achkan/jacket! Now we know. © Instagram/The Vainglorious Varun kept the accessories minimal by sticking with only a pair of statement sunnies (well, they are Prada and you don't really need much post that). © Viral Bhayani Definitely one of the best looks of the year on Varun!
  19. SRK isn't your regular dad. He's a savage dad. Well, he sure keeps on proving it every now and then. From being wittier than his kids on social media to dressing better than them, he knows how to remind them time and again about who's the boss. The latest instance was his appearance with daughter Suhana at the airport, where he wore a black overcoat - which we are tempted to call - wait for it - the 'Baap of all Overcoats'. © Viral Bhayani The jet black, futuristic looking overcoat with bold silver buttons is pretty much the prototype for what an alpha dad should wear to keep potential suitors in check (not that he needs to, it's Shah Rukh Khan we're talking about, duh.) © Viral Bhayani The super relaxed silhouette composed of a pair of comfortable black trousers and a grey T-shirt underneath is perfect to be paired with a statement overcoat on top. Talk about functional style! © Viral Bhayani Suhana might have been on the cover of 'Vogue', but Shah Rukh here sure knows what's in vogue. Look at the all-too-conspicuous swag with those black sunnies - how matrix meets alpha dad is that? © Viral Bhayani We like how he has chosen to wear a pair of grey sneakers to break free from the possible monotony the all-black would have brought forth. Good call there, SRK! © Viral Bhayani All we can say is that we feel for Suhana and Aryan (AbRam is too young to care, tbh). After all, having your dad dress better than you can be a lot of pressure!
  20. Food plays cupid for two strangers, they start exchanging messages and calls over a tiffin service and romance sparks between the two. Nope, we're not talking about Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur starrer 'The Lunchbox', although this trailer does give us major vibes of the movie. © neufilm We're talking about 'Once Again', a sweet love story between Shefali Shah and Neeraj Kabi, explaining why everyone deserves a second chance in life. If you are a 'Sacred Games' fan then I don't need to introduce Parulkar or Neeraj Kabi or talk about how talented an actor he is, people know that already. And with this trailer he only cemented that fact. And Shefali Shah doesn't need any introduction. © neufilm Shefali Shah, one of the finest actresses in Bollywood, plays a widowed businesswoman who runs a tiffin service. Neeraj Kabi plays a renowned actor who also happens to be one of her clients. The two soon start bonding over food and exchange notes with tiffins. However, the society does not accept their relationship and they soon find themselves surrounded by ridiculous comments and judgemental looks of people. How the two try to overcome these obstacles weaves the rest of the plot. Written by Kanwal Sethi, 'Once Again' also stars Rasika Duggal and Bidita Bag.
  21. Think of sartorial sensibilities for 30,000 feet above and you'd be blessed with names of a lot of stylish men. #AirportStyle — as they call it — is now a move of the top dogs and is soon, even trickling down to the ordinary. After all, you can find the love of your life anywhere, right? Even at a boarding terminal; so you rather be prepared. Saif Ali Khan, though married, exudes his personal swagger even while flying. But mind you: he may be a high-flying, business class traveller, but he hardly dresses the part; that's just his way of life and we're no one to complain. Because after all, he's a Nawab, who's always raining on his own parade. So, for his recent airport outfit in Mumbai, he did exactly that. © Viral Bhayani Going by this visual above, Saif's style slogan seems simple: walk into a terminal like you're getting into bed (and just keeping rolling in it). Throw in a bandana in the combo (a style-signature), Kolhapuris (because, he's in an Independence Day hangover) and headphones, because "I don't care if you're shouting my name, bro". Takeaway: whether at the airport or in situations outside, Khan's style is chill at all times. Does this mean dressing up adversely for #AirportStyle is a trend that's now officially dead? © Viral Bhayani That said, as much as we say and call his 'chill', we must appreciate the fact that this is a unique, well-planned out style flex. Sure, there's just a T-shirt and trackpants in there, but notice the timepiece on the wrist, tinted sunnies, colour-twinning with the bandana and headphones and, well, that Louis Vuitton bag, that's the single-most symbol of his bank balance here. Worth just a few lakhs maybe? And though, we would have loved some trimming on the beard, let's just call this his lazy day! © Viral Bhayani Clearly, this is a reminder that Airport style isn't something that needs to be forced down one's throat. What style-route you want to take or whether you even want to really care is something you don't need to push yourself into. Much like Saif Ali Khan, men like Shah Rukh Khan too prefer chill dressing over being overtly dramatic (or forcibly put-together) at the airport. Looks like, bigger the bank balance, more the modesty. Since when did this become a famous man-thing?
  22. While we don't know him personally, Ranveer Singh's online presence screams one thing – this guy really loves himself. He literally is the definition of self-love and every person should honestly aspire to appreciating themselves so much, it's so important. The world sucks so you gotta be your own biggest fan and hype yourself as much as you can and to achieve that, let's take some pointers from our favourite eccentric actor. After going through his Instagram, one biggest observation I made was how he almost always posts his own pictures, even Deepika isn't there in a single picture. He also uses his Instagram stories to hype himself up. Exhibit A – all three of his stories from today. Probably an old picture that should be seen by everyone again. © Ranveer Singh/Instagram That gif tho. © Ranveer Singh/Instagram The pun game is strong with this one. 23. The 2018 FIFA World Cup is over, but I am sure most of us are still reeling from the shock that this football tournament left us with. In the beginning, the battles of the fans were clear and our biases were more or less figured out - Ronaldo vs Messi. But, after the unexpected exit of Portugal and Argentina in the round of 16, all our hopes and cheers got divided between the remaining teams. © Instagram Post the World Cup exit, Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Juventus and Lionel Messi is currently busy spending some quality time practicing football with Hulk, his giant Dogue de Bordeaux. People say a dog is a man's best friend, but if you have one of the greatest footballers in the world by your side, chances are that the dog will be better in the sport than most of us. And this 30-second video, right here, is proof of the same. © Insatgram While you feel proud and enroll yourself for the post of President of the 'Dogs' BFF' society when your dog fetches the ball; Messi isn't your regular dog owner, so clearly, Hulk has to go through this kind of training. ð¦â½ï¸ A post shared by AntoRoccuzzo88 (@antoroccuzzo88) on Jul 30, 2018 at 4:29am PDT In fact, Hulk even found a fan in one of Messi's kids (Mateo and Thiago). While one was heard saying, "He (Hulk) is very good at playing football"; the other one said, "Yeah, but dad is better." This video was shared by Messi's wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, on her Instagram.
  24. Mumbai Police's Twitter account, the only place you need to be to keep up with everything pop-culture. This is something they have proved time and again. From making the most of the current memes to making hilarious movie and TV show references, Mumbai Police knows how to keep up with the millennials. After making hilarious jokes using 'Friends' and even '13 Reasons Why', they've decided to use their keen 'meme eye' and raise awareness using none other than Tom Cruise. While the newly released movie may have a lot of 'impossible' looking stunts, but if you try to imitate that in real life, Mumbai Police wanted to warn everyone it will be very possible for them to catch those people. They shared a hilarious video on Instagram, accompanied by an even better caption: “Not an impossible mission for us to penalise you if you are spotted trying these stunts on the roads of Mumbai! That's the job. No hard feelings. #SafetyIsPossible #WearAHelmet #SayNoToRashDriving” Not an impossible mission for us to penalise you if you are spotted trying these stunts on the roads of Mumbai! Lol @MumbaiPolice Tom curise still survives that, because there are no manholes unlike India, because the government dont take the initiative to fix them. 25. When JK Rowling mentioned in an interview that Albus Dumbledore is gay, two things happened. One, the LGBT section of the Harry Potter fandom started rejoicing because let's face it, it feels good to be included in the narrative, and two, a conspicuously homophobic section of the fandom let their displeasure known. Now, it feels rather odd that a section of the HP fandom will even qualify as homophobic, because tolerance is one of the most important lessons one gets to learn after having read the series, but it's not an ideal world after all. © Twitter Also, business doesn't run on morality, or what is right and what is wrong, and rightfully so - a small bit of statistics will prove that. 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' had earned $86M and $22M in China and Russia, respectively, and it's only supposed to go up from there. So, when Warner Bros had indicated that there won't be any explicit mention of Dumbledore's sexual orientation in 'Crimes of Grindelwald', they wanted to make sure that the movie doesn't get banned in either of those two countries, or anywhere else for that matter (India isn't the best place either, unfortunately, when it comes to LGBT content on the big screen). © Twitter Coming to whether they actually explore Dumbledore's sexuality or his feelings towards Grindelwald, there is a scene in the trailer that tells us, all too obviously, that they do in fact do that, while shedding sufficient light on that topic. Yes, the depiction is complicated and multilayered, just like the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. © Twitter While true-blue Potterheads must have noticed it immediately, here is a little bit of explanation for those who aren't obsessed with the series. A bit of background, first. Remember the Mirror of Erised? The same mirror that Harry stumbled into, and could see his parents in? The Mirror of Erised shows the 'deepest, most desperate desire of our hearts'. 'Erised', reversed, is 'Desire'. Harry, who grew up in an abusive household without his parents, wanted nothing more than a normal childhood with his parents by his side. Naturally, that is what he saw in the mirror. © Twitter In the books, it was always a mystery as to what Dumbledore saw when he looked in the mirror, despite what he said. In the trailer, there is a moment where we all can see a young Dumbledore mournfully looking into the mirror, and seeing Grindelwald. If that is not proof enough, we don't know what is. According to some people, it might be Dumbledore wanting to capture his best friend who turned into the biggest dark wizard of that time, but that again is layered. Everything said and done, the former explanation seems to echo more with the fans' sentiments, not to mention a more logical explanation. © YouTube Speculations aside, all we can say is that we can't wait for the movie, because it's going to be an awesome watch if they give it the same treatment that was given to the first movie in the Fantastic Beasts series.
