I am a conversationalist by nature. Put me in a room of people and I’ll come out having made conversation with even the most reluctant people. However, there will always be a few topics that would be sensitive and require me to tread carefully. In fact, not just me, but almost everyone because the nature of a few topics in discussion is far more sensitive than others. Like talking about ‘rape’. Two months ago I graduated from being a student to a Tax paying citizen of this country and my money is going towards the study and dissemination of anti-Hindu rhetoric. POV : Slide from a class in Aligarh Muslim University. pic.twitter.com/lQvjxE4iqX — Rashmi Samant (@RashmiDVS) April 5, 2022 Having not paid heed to the advice, an Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) professor has landed himself in major legal trouble after he casually made ‘mythical references’ to rape in a PowerPoint presentation. Aligarh Muslim University has a zero-tolerance policy. AMU Admin & medicine faculty strongly condemned the content of a slide on the mythical reference of rape by Asst Prof Dr Jitendra Kumar; 24hr time has been given to him to reply to our show-cause notice: PRO-AMU Omar Peerzada pic.twitter.com/XklC1LO1cG — ANI UP/Uttarakhand (@ANINewsUP) April 6, 2022 Dr Jitendra Kumar of the Faculty of Medicine was talking about rape in his presentation while teaching the MBBS Forensic medicine class in AMU, when he laid out a slide that was not just deemed offensive, it was called out for ‘hurting religious sentiments’. A screenshot of the presentation was soon shared on social media, following which several people (including students) have condemned the professor and his alleged attempt at ‘demeaning Hindu gods and culture’. © Twitter The professor since then has been asked to submit his reply on the matter by the faculty within 24 hours and has also issued an apology as noted by the AMU. A two-member inquiry committee has also been formed by the university at the suggestion of the Dean Faculty of Medicine, Professor Rakesh Bhargava, who seeks to look further into the matter. It has been promised that proper steps shall be taken so such an instance is never repeated in the future. Can't turn a blind eye towards so many incidents like this....If BJP can't stop taking hindus as granted they will pay.. — RV (@RS05_1993) April 5, 2022Very serious hate propaganda if this slide is being shown (not factual also). If anybody contests ask them if it's ok to mention child marriage & rape by other'religious' figures who they claim aren't mythological. @EduMinOfIndia @HMOIndia — Prashnik K (@PrashnikQ) April 6, 2022Please not to compare Lord of Supreme Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma with us as Humans. They are my aradhya .It is hurting very much as they are Supreme .Manas putri and Because of Jalandar. — Kaustubh Mahesh Sharma (@Kaustub79526718) April 5, 2022@MinisterEduGoS look into this issue. Don't you think there should be a guideline to include ancient scriptures only with the written proofs? How can AMU insult our religious scriptures and deities like this? Will you gonna take any action or not?#Hindutva — Jyoti B. - SSRF (@jyotibhargav7) April 5, 2022Meanwhile, people on the micro-blogging site are unimpressed by the mention of quotes like ‘story of Brahma raping her daughter’ in the slide and are dropping comments like, “A criminal case must be filed against the wrongdoer under section 295A of the IPC.” While another wrote, “Is this what they teach at AMU? Amazing government we have and amazing tolerance or rather don't care attitude of Indian citizens.” BTW, they would never use their own examples of many heinous acts in their history in fear of being beheaded / stoned to death on street! Only one faith that allows free speech because we allow to be questioned so we can clear any doubts which other faiths don't even allow! — Main Bharat Hoon (Sanatani by Birth) (@main_sanatani) April 5, 2022A criminal case must be filed against the wrongdoer under section 295A of the IPC. — shubham srivastav (@ishubhamsri) April 5, 2022Why they are not teaching this? pic.twitter.com/ymS0NijCvi — iamrajahindustani (@iamrajahindust1) April 5, 2022A few even came to defend the claims that the presentation made as they commented, “Saraswati was a creation and not his daughter. Twinkle Khanna has shared her take on the ongoing hijab controversy that has been making headlines for weeks now. Sharing her thoughts on the controversial topic in her latest column for TOI, Twinkle stated that the choice remains with a woman whether she wants to wear a hijab or not, but she also finds it funny how a few religious leaders defend it by saying that it stops men from being tempted. Sharing her column on Twitter, Twinkle wrote, “Life and rummy follow the same rules, a joker in your hand is better than an ace up your sleeve. Follow stand-ups instead of mystics and ministers, the only price you pay is the admission ticket, or even better, is included in your Netflix subscription.” © Instagram/Twinkle Khanna About the hijab row, she wrote in her column, “Burgas, hijabs and even ghungats for that matter have worked their way into becoming religious and cultural constructs. While I am not an advocate for any sort of veiling, it is up to the women themselves to decide without intimidation on either side. I must admit hearing a few religious leaders talk about how a hijab stops men from being tempted does make one chuckle. All these bhai saabs should sit down and let the stand-ups talk instead. Very few men would consider a woman's head an erogenous zone. Can you imagine date-night conversations that include, 'Wow your head is looking so hot today'? `Oh, thank you darling, I keep it in shape by trying not to get swollen-headed in its beauty.” Check out her tweet below: Life and rummy follow the same rules, a joker in your hand is better than an ace up your sleeve. After enduring an unforgettable outing against Australia in the T20 World Cup semi-final, Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali also had to face vile abuse on social media. As Matthew Wade and Marcus Stoinis’ powerful hitting helped Aaron’s Finch’s side reach their second T20 World Cup final, the Pakistani fans lashed out their anger on the pacer, blaming him as the main culprit for ending their side’s unbeaten run in the tournament. Just a reminder to all who're hating @RealHa55an tonight. He has taken 61 international wickets this year in 27 games @ 19.80. Only Shaheen Afridi (62 in 31 @ 24.51) has more international wickets than him this year among all. - who would drop a player with such a run in year? pic.twitter.com/XFJXeegSbX — Faizan Lakhani (@faizanlakhani) November 11, 2021 From micro-blogging site Twitter to picture and video sharing platform Instagram, fans from across the border attacked the 27-year-old speedster, accusing him of fixing the match. Talking about his performance, Hasan Ali proved to be the most expensive bowler for his side, conceding 44 runs in his four overs without picking up a single wicket. © Twitter However, the amount of runs he gave away was not the main reason why Pakistani fans were angry with him. They were furious with him for dropping a crucial catch of ‘Player of the Match’ Matthew Wade in the penultimate over of the innings. We stand with #INDwithHasanAli#PAKVSAUS pic.twitter.com/U0r5oHWQRn — Baap Bolte (@BaapBol214) November 11, 2021 Making most of the new life-line, Wade finished the match by smashing Pakistan’s number one bowler Shaheen Afridi by hitting him for three consecutive sixes on the last three balls of the overs. Matthew who?MATTHEW WADE #T20WorldCup | #PAKvAUS pic.twitter.com/G1gzs7Gg5n — Doordarshan Sports (@ddsportschannel) November 11, 2021 Apart from his on-field performance, the angry Pakistani abused Hasan Ali citing his religious identity (claiming that he belonged to the Shia sect of Islam, hense lost deliberately) and also because he is married to an Indian woman named Samiya Arzoo, who hailed from northern state of Haryana. © Twitter Understanding the plight of the Pakistani pacer, who faced unnecessary online hatred, the Indian fans stood in solidarity with the right-arm pacer using a hashtag ‘#INDwithHasanAli’ and called out the trolls for attacking the cricketer and his family. We are very pained to know that #Pakistan Cricketer #HasanAli(@RealHa55an) is being targeted for being a #Shia Muslim & also because he married an #Indian Samiya Arzoo. Pakistanis' intolerance & hatred is despicable & I hope @ImranKhanPTI gives enough security. #INDwithHasanAli pic.twitter.com/vyTtNMsuNe — SG Suryah (@SuryahSG) November 11, 2021Given the kind of vicious threats that he has received, Pak cricketer Hasan Ali should immigrate to Iran. He and his Indian wife are not safe in Pakistan. Is anybody safe in Pakistan?#INDwithHasanAli — Soumyadipta (@Soumyadipta) November 12, 2021The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable. @RealHa55an is a star & indeed a good Cricketer. Please respect your stars #Pakistan. This mindless abuse isn't going to help anyone. #INDwithHasanAli #PAKvAUS — Abhii (@abhii002) November 12, 2021Cricket is just a game . Don't hate him for one catch. He is your hero. Don't put blame on him due to his faith. #INDwithHasanAli — Vishwas Mohite (@Vishwas46981613) November 12, 2021The hatred towards Hassan Ali shd stop. It's just a game n you loose catches at times, sometimes you take screamers too. The kind of hate #hassan_ali getting is immensible just cz of he's #ShiaMuslim, #Pakistan targetting him. #INDwithHasanAli #AUSvsPAK #Australia #MatthewWade pic.twitter.com/3K2tF2EJd3 — ཌAqบคriบsད (@introverx___) November 12, 2021One mistake does not defines a player's ability. Hasan Ali is a great player,he must not be made the face of the blame. The whole squad must take collective responsibility. #INDwithHasanAli — Ashutosh Pandey (@PandeyApyp172) November 12, 2021 While social media has so many benefits, if used properly, the biggest drawback of such platforms is that it allows some nonsensical people to hurl vile abuses at anyone, hiding behind a virtual screen. Hasan is not the first player to drop a catch in a cricket match and definitely won’t be the last. Whichever team you support the fans must realise that no player drops a catch on purpose and one bad day in the office doesn’t make any player good or bad. .@RealHa55an you are a champion. The entire team is with you. To all the fans, everyone goes through tough times, we are all human beings capable of errors. Remember the joy Hasan has given you, don’t do personal attacks please. He is Pakistan’s match-winner. #WeStandWithHasanAli pic.twitter.com/g9UzkGHPim — Shadab Khan (@76Shadabkhan) November 12, 2021 Hasan Ali has been one of the most consistent players for Pakistan and has won them a number of matches in the last couple of years. Cricketers are also human and they need fans’ support to get over such difficult times. If you can’t lend a supporting hand, please don’t make it even more painful for him and his family. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently showed their support for one of the leading bowlers of the country in Mohammed Shami, who faced religious abuse after India lost to Pakistan in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2021. Proud Strong Upward and onward pic.twitter.com/5NqknojVZj — BCCI (@BCCI) October 26, 2021 However, not a lot of people were fond of this message shared by the Indian cricket board and doubled down on the kind of overflowing hate they had for the 31-year old bowler. Ques remains, who called for kneeling? Why? We run this cricket business n we want answers.@SGanguly99 @JayShah Why still no action on that commentator? — CHEAKY BLINDER (@itsAB_101) October 26, 2021Stop this propaganda no one abused @MdShami11 Why so much drama — Pradeep(RCB) (@AamAadmiHun) October 26, 2021Struggling to put a big enough total to defend in the second innings, the Men in Blue couldn’t dismiss even a single wicket of the Pakistani squad and ended up losing the match by 10 wickets and 13 balls to spare as the duo of skipper Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan successfully chased down 151 runs in just 17.5 overs. However, it was the Indian veteran pacer Mohammed Siraj’s final over for the day during which the Pakistani duo smashed the winning runs and end India’s undefeated streak of wins over them in T20 and ODI World Cups since the inception of international cricket. Shocked by the kind of response Shami received from the Indian cricket fans after the match, former Indian cricketer, Irfan Pathan made an exceptionally strong statement in favour of Shami, while keeping himself, another Indian Muslim, in his shoes and expressing his feelings. Even I was part of #IndvsPak battles on the field where we have lost but never been told to go to Pakistan! I’m talking about of few years back. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP. #Shami — Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) October 25, 2021 “Even I was part of #IndvsPak battles on the field where we have lost but never been told to go to Pakistan! I’m talking about of few years back. THIS CRAP NEEDS TO STOP. #Shami” Pathan wrote from his official Twitter handle after the defeat. Indian skipper Virat Kohli refused to hide behind excuses and took the loss like a true superstar. “We didn't execute properly. Credit where it's due and Pakistan outplayed us today. They started brilliantly with the ball, and 3 wickets for 20 runs was not a good start. We needed wickets early but with the bat they gave us absolutely no chances,” Kohli said at the post-match presentation ceremony. “It played slow in the first half and hitting through the line was not that easy as it was in the second half, after 10 overs. We needed those 15-20 extra runs and for that we needed a good start but Pakistan's bowling didn't allow us to get those extra runs,” he added. View the full article

The world of digital trolls is inhumane to the level that it can destroy someone’s image, but thanks to Neeraj Chopra’s honesty and sportsmanship, people who were spreading hate and islamophobia can now shut up once and for all. Neeraj has become a national hero after he won Gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. After his win, he started getting way too much attention from the media outlets and general public. He is the talk of the town and sadly, one of his statements created a ruckus on social media. The Indian athlete revealed in an interview that he had taken his first throw hurriedly after a delay as he couldn't locate his javelin, which he spotted in the hands of Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem later. After this statement went viral, people started to spread hate around it. मेरी आप सभी से विनती है की मेरे comments को अपने गंदे एजेंडा को आगे बढ़ाने का माध्यम न बनाए। Sports हम सबको एकजूट होकर साथ रहना सिखाता हैं और कमेंट करने से पहले खेल के रूल्स जानना जरूरी होता है pic.twitter.com/RLv96FZTd2 — Neeraj Chopra (@Neeraj_chopra1) August 26, 2021To put all this hate to rest, Neeraj took to social media to share a video and a statement that said, “I would request everyone to please not use me and my comments as a medium to further your vested interests and propaganda. Sports teaches us to be together and united. I'm extremely disappointed to see some of the reactions from the public on my recent comments.” He also pointed out there was nothing wrong with Arshad taking his Javelin because there’s no rule as such. He also added that people shouldn’t make a big issue out of it. As a person who’s getting all the fame and attention, it could have backfired but people called him gutsy for sticking to the truth. They also said if celebs start taking some lessons from Neeraj, it will be easy to stop this religious hatred. People hailed him for his video statement and felt that he is a true sportsman. Here are some of the reactions: © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter © Twitter We completely agree with people in this regard. Also, Neeraj has announced a break and said that he is skipping all the tournaments in 2021 and would be returning with full training for the 2022 calendar which includes the World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. View this post on InstagramHe wrote, “Firstly, I want to thank everyone for the love and affection I have received since I came back from Tokyo. I have honestly been overwhelmed by the support from across the country and beyond, and am short of words to express my gratitude to you all.” He added, “The packed schedule of travel and a bout of illness has meant I have not been able to resume training since Tokyo and therefore, along with my team, have decided to cut short the 2021 competition season to be able to take some time off, recharge and come back stronger for a packed 2022 calendar which includes the World Championships, Asian Games and Commonwealth Games. I have been encouraged by all the support to Indian athletics over these past few weeks and would urge you all to keep supporting India and Indian athletics in the months and years to come.
