  1. We've all been wondering when the next instalment of 'The Last Of Us' will launch ever since it was announced at E3 last year. According to a leak by a European retailer ProGamingShop, it looks like the game is set to launch later this year. The game will be an exclusive game to the PlayStation 4 and possible PlayStation 5, similar to the original game when it was first launched on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. © Sony The release date for the “The Last Of Us Part II” is rumoured to be September 27th, 2019 if this leak is to be believed. It's a Friday and is one the most common days for big AAA titles to release. As of now, Sony does not have any big blockbuster games scheduled for fall 2019 and this leak would make complete sense. However, a recent report suggested that developer Naughty Dog, had recently wrapped up motion capture work on the game and launch in September seems unlikely. The general assumption is that The Last of Us Part II will launch in 2020. Having said that, the motion capture work could be re-shots or the final phase of production as the game has been in development for a while. When The Last Of Us was released in June 2013, it came out closer to the launch date go the PS4 which resulted in good sale numbers on both platforms. It is possible that Sony will replicate the same formula as the new console is about to launch very soon We've already confirmed a few specifications of the new PlayStation 5 and it seems the launch of the console is very close. It would be possible that Sony would want to replicate the same success for this and next-gen consoles as well. Source: ProGamingShop

  3. August saw a list of some small humble releases as far as Bollywood was concerned but September has some strong offerings in store for movie buffs. Here are four major releases that have got us all excited for September: 1. Sui Dhaga (28th September) Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan have come together in an avatar which you have never seen before. The story follows the simple dreams and aspirations of a small town man who is unemployed and fights all odds to build his own garment business. 2. Paltan (7th September) J.P Dutta fans know exactly what it means to watch a movie helmed by him. 'Paltan' talks about the Nathu La military clashes that took place in 1967 at the Sikkim border and also deals with the Indo-China relations. 3. Manmarziyan (14th September) Anurag Kashyap is here with a movie based on romance with Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan in the lead roles. The entire package looks brilliant and we are sold on the trailer. 4. Batti Gul Meter Chalu (21st September) This movie stars Shahid Kapoor and Shrradha Kapoor in the leads and will talk about the problem surrounding electricity theft in rural India, which is a menace. Time to make some movie plans now?

  7. Joaquin 'Shorty' Guzman is escorted by soldiers during a presentation at the Navy's airstrip in Mexico City February 22, 2014. Photo: REUTERS/file NEW YORK: A US judge on Wednesday postponed until September the trial in New York of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. The 60-year-old kingpin, accused of running one of the world´s biggest drug empires and who twice escaped prison in Mexico, was originally expected to go on trial in April. But on Wednesday, federal judge Brian Cogan ordered lawyers to clear their calendars for a September trial, saying summer vacation schedules could reduce the jury pool for an August date. On Monday, Cogan had delayed the latest pre-trial hearing from January 19 to February 15, after Guzman´s lawyer demanded more time to review several hundred thousand pages of documents in the case. Guzman has been held in solitary confinement in New York since being extradited to the United States a year ago. Accused of running the Sinaloa cartel, he is facing 17 charges, and if convicted, he is likely to spend the rest of his life in a maximum security US prison.
  8. KARACHI: The Institute of Bankers Pakistan (IBP) on Monday announced the Second Banking Awards 2017 to be held in September. The aim of the awards is to encourage the financial sector of the country to extend better services and enhance outreach to unbanked segment of the society, said the press release issued by the institute. He added that 18 banks were participating in the award ceremony. On the basis of performance, awards will be given in eight different categories. Lawai also said that the financial sector of the country was performing efficiently and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) had directed banks to provide services to 50 per cent of the population by 2020. The jury for the awards comprises people who possess relevant expertise and are undoubtedly institutions in themselves, he said. The institute aims to adopt a transparent and impartial evaluation process to select the best performers for the awards, added the press release. The Pakistan Banking Awards were launched in 2016 and are now an annual event. Awards are given to individual banks based on their performance, broadly in the developmental, financial, and customer service related spheres
  9. KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday adjourned the hearing of Baldia factory fire case until September 25 and said the accused will be indicted during the next hearing. The ATC resumed hearing of the case on Monday with all the accused provided copies of the case. In September 2012, a deadly fire devoured 269 lives at a factory situated in Karachi's Baldia Town. Subsequent investigations led to revelations that the factory was deliberately set ablaze over non-payment of protection money. Five years on, relatives of Baldia factory fire long for justice The blaze erupted at Ali Enterprises on September 11, 2012, of which a case was registered a day after, declaring it a mishap Police produced Abdul Rehman alias Bhola, Zubair alias Charya and other accused before the court. The ATC expressed displeasure over the absence of two accused, Umar Hassan Qadri and Ali Hassan Qadri. All those accused in the case were provided case copies by the court. Charges will formally be framed on the accused on September 25. The Sindh High Court has ordered to expedite the case and that its progress report be submitted to it after every hearing. The court sought arguments on Rehman Bhola's bail plea on next hearing, while factory owners, Abdul Aziz Bhaila and others, filed a plea seeking return of money deposited as surety bond. The ATC also reserved verdict on acquittal of two factory employees, Shahrukh and Ali Ahmed, and adjourned the hearing until September 25.
  10. Do you like to keep abreast of Bollywood and Hollywood movies to be released? Well, there is no reason to not be, especially if you are a movie buff. There are some eagerly awaited Bollywood picks in September and then, there are few good choices from the Hollywood too for the big screen entertainment. In short, there is a whole, fresh bouquet of movies waiting to entertain you this month. Find out if the most anticipated movie (s) of the year features in the September 2017 list. Even if you still need to wait for that ‘BIG' one, there is more to try and watch out for, because movie buffs like you and me don't need a better reason to hit the movie halls on the first weekend of their release. Because we love it as a part of our lives. So, without keeping you on further hold, dig in to see what lies ahead this month. Lucknow Central Farhan Akhtar is back from big hiatus at least from the last time he delivered a hit. A lot has transpired in his personal life since then, so now, we should expect some serious professional transformation from him. ‘Lucknow Central' is yet another musical performance from him and this time, in place of his old buddies, he forms a music group inside the prison. Smells like something more than good music is on offer for sure. Simran The vivacious actress is back with ‘Simran'. This Kangana Ranaunt starrer can be another power-house performance from the Queen. Riding high on the hopes of the audience, will Kangana deliver another stellar performance this time too? It seems so, considering, she again has a personality-centred movie release on schedule in September. The plot is different from what seems in the promo. It is about the journey of a Gujarati housekeeping lady landing in the crime field in the US. Intriguing, isn't it, for no solo honeymoon trip here. Bhoomi Sanjay Dutt is out, this time virtually on the big screen. We finally have a Sanjay Dutt release and the plot is a turbulent father-daughter life in an action-thriller drama presentation. Now, that is how we like Sanjay Dutt, in his big, wide, macho form. We know how he got back into shape when he was inside Jail; he lost some 20 kgs and now that he is back to entertain the viewers, we can't help but observe much of his sculpted physique and of course, his honed acting skills after a gap. Judwaa 2 Another Varun Dhawan and father directed movie. Last time we saw it was the 1990s in which, still the current heart throb, Salman Khan, was seen in a double role and entertaining the mass viewers. Varun Dhawan continues to dance to the same tunes in 2017, as most of the songs are remixed. Will he be able to deliver the same, with the two beauties, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu in his toe? Well, let's try and find out how glamour can get more glamourous now. Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle The new digital-style spy thriller is back and this time too, the secret agent is likely to impress with his statesman persona decoding a notorious criminal mastermind. If you have watched ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service', touted to be one of most entertaining spy action movies, getting as nearly as possible to the persistent James Bond franchise, then, you are in for some real dose of entertainment towards the end of the month. If you haven't yet, then get hold of a DVD copy or internet download, so that you don't miss the fun near you. American Assassin When it comes to Hollywood production of action and thriller, it is rarely you can afford to miss it. One of the September showcases is ‘American Assassin' that tells the story of a CIA agent, who after acclaimed fame, is destined to bear the brunt of a tragic life and to be born again as a part of the nation's most elite covert operations program. Let us see how this Mitch Rapp starrer takes us through the journey of one man leading two different lives.
  11. Samsung has sent out media invites for the launch of Galaxy Note 8 that is taking place on September 12 in New Delhi. The launch is taking place on the same day as the global launch of iPhone X/iPhone 8. The invitation used the same artwork as the global launch and said ‘Do Bigger Things' which points to Samsung's biggest line of smartphones i.e. The Note. The invite outlines the design of the Note 8 which shows the narrow bezels and the S pen that comes along with the smartphone. (c) Samsung The Note 8 has already launched globally and it comes with a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ display and has a resolution of 1440X2960 pixels. The international variant is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, however, we can expect the Indian model to use Exynos 8895 SoC. The Note 8 also has a dual camera setup with two 12-MP lenses that has optical image stabilisation. The device also has an 8-megapixel front facing camera much like the Galaxy S8 and will have a f/1.7 aperture. The Note 8 also performed with flying colours in a recent durability test and continued to work even after going through the abuse. The Note 8 is expected to launch in India for upwards of INR 60,000 and will be one of the most expensive devices sold by Samsung ever.

  13. ‘Game of Thrones' just ended, and it is time to find ourselves a new obsession. Let's return to our very trustworthy Netflix, shall we? September, in particular, looks like a month for the return of amazing serie—not only Netflix originals but also a few foreign productions. This month is particularly golden for all those who wish to enjoy well-made documentaries. We are restricting this list to shows and documentaries, do let us know in the comments below if you need a list of movies as well. Netflix is finally coming up with the new season of ‘BoJack Horseman' in September. Regardless of whether you are into animated series or not, this show is the funniest and most honest thing you will ever watch. This season although does seem to have taken a dramatic turn as our beloved alcoholic horse seems to have disappeared but we will hold our judging horses for the premiere. Speaking of drama, you can't miss the Colombian crime drama, ‘Narcos'. The highlight of this season is going to be Cali Cartel. We have high hopes for this season. In the fresh series front, ‘American Vandal', an eight part half-hour satirical adaptation of crime documentaries has all the balls in its court, pun intended. It is about the time when a high school prank went too far and vandalized twenty-seven faculty cars with phallic images. September is also bringing us Jack Whitehall and his father's Southeast Asia trip, ‘Travels with My Father' hitting Netflix on September 22 is a show where Jack Whitehall, a British Comedian takes his father on a trip with the hope of strengthening their bond. ‘There is nothing more foreign than Family' if you feel the message, join the two boys on this adventure. On the other hand, there is ‘Club de Cuervos', a family drama where the recently orphaned siblings battle to determine who will gain control of their soccer team. ‘The Expanse: Season 2' is a show about the politics of humanity colonizing Mars and living in the Asteroid Belt and beyond while offering enough high-octane action for a variety of sci-fi fans. If the only criteria you have to watch a show is entertainment then you have definitely got to watch RuPaul's ‘Drag Race: Season 9'. We haven't seen anything so effortlessly sassy. Now let's talk about the bag full of documentaries Netflix is offering us this September. ‘Who The F**ck Is That Guy?' tells the tale of Michael Alago, a New York native and an icon in the music business. ‘Gaga: Five Foot Two', where we get to watch BTS (behind the scenes) of Lady Gaga's life over an eight-month period. ‘Fire Chasers' is an eye-opener which follows firefighters as they try to fight seasonal wildfires in California, and how man-made choices have impacted their work. ‘The Confession Tapes' is a crime documentary focused on decoding the reasons why people retracted their confessions. You are specially blessed if you are a fan of comedy. Netflix has collected some of the biggest names in comedy for specials. Jerry Seinfeld will launch his first special after his Netflix deal earlier this year for which he is allegedly paid 100 Million dollars. Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham also got his own feature. Marc Maron, comedian, actor and host of the WTF podcast debuts his hour-long Netflix special. We also took the liberty of listing your Netflix to-watch list based on our recommendations. Enjoy: September 1 LEGO Elves: Secrets of Elvendale: Season 1 Little Evil: Although this one is a movie but worth breaking the rules for. This is our must watch movie recommendation for September. Who the F**K is that Guy September 2 Chelsea: Season 2, weekly September 5 Marc Maron: Too Real September 6 Shooter: Season 2, weekly September 8 BoJack Horseman: Season 4 Greenhouse Academy: Season 1 The Confession Tapes: Season 1 The Expanse: Season 2 September 12 Project Mc² September 13 Offspring: Season 7 September 14 Romance of Our Parents: Season 1 September 20 Gotham: Season 3 September 21 Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Season 4 September 22 Fuller House: Season 3 Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father: Season 1 September 28 Beautiful Secret: Season 1 September 29 Club de Cuervos: Season 3 Big Mouth: Season 1 September 30 RuPaul's Drag Race: Season 9 Note: All titles and dates are subject to change
  14. SAN FRANCISCO: Apple sent out invitations Thursday to a September 12 media event at which the US tech giant is expected to unveil new iPhone models for the 10th anniversary of the culture-changing smartphones. The keenly anticipated event will be the first to take place in the Steve Jobs Theater at its new "spaceship" campus in Silicon Valley. In trademark style, Apple revealed little in the invitation that provided the date, time, location and a message that read "Let's meet at our place." Apple is under particular pressure to dazzle as the California-based company looks for ways to maintain its image as an innovation leader in a global market showing signs of slowing. "Clearly, Apple wants to do something different for the 10th anniversary" of the iPhone, NPD Group analyst Stephen Baker told AFP. Some reports say a new iPhone will include a high-quality, edge-to-edge screen with a notch in the top for an ear-piece and an extra camera supporting 3D facial recognition and selfies. Some speculate that the new handset will have a glass backing that offers wireless charging. "We are expecting a major design refresh on Apple," GlobalData analyst Avi Greengart told AFP. "That has been a sore point, especially in China. People are looking to show off a status symbol, so it needs to look different than Huawei or Xiaomi, and I think it will." Apple has declined to comment on speculation, which has included talk of as many as three new iPhone handsets, including a premium model priced at around $1,000. Bye-bye button? The most dramatic changes were expected in the premium model, which could go so far as to get rid of a 'home' button that has been a main control feature since the iPhone made its debut in 2007. Flicking or swiping gestures could replace the home button function, enabling the handset face to appear almost all-screen. The iPhone could also get more rounded corners. New iPhones would, of course, be designed to showcase capabilities of the latest version of Apple's iOS software for powering mobile devices. Apple showed iOS 11 to developers at a conference earlier this year, and is likely to release it with the new iPhone models. The mobile operating system boasted new camera features, Siri digital assistant made smarter, and the potential for augmented reality applications. The Sept. 12 event could also feature updated versions of Apple TV and Apple Watch. Notes and Pixels Global smartphone sales saw a modest decline of 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2017, as market leaders Samsung and Apple consolidated their positions, an IDC survey showed. The South Korean giant maintained the top spot with a 23.3 percent market share, while Apple held onto second place with 12 percent, according to IDC. Huawei was the third-largest vendor, with an 11.3 percent market share. The Chinese electronics giant closed the gap with Apple, adding two percentage points to market share from a year earlier, according to the survey. China-based Oppo and Xiaomi rounded out the top five. Samsung last week unveiled a new model of its Galaxy Note as it seeks to leave behind the debacle over exploding batteries in the previous generation of the device, and mount a renewed challenge to Apple and its soon-to-come iPhone 8. A Note 8 "phablet" introduced at an event in New York City left some analysts underwhelmed by its lack of new features beyond a dual-lens camera for telephoto zoom -- already available on the iPhone7 Plus. The Note 8 will hit shops on September 15, its debut coming on the heels of Samsung launching new Galaxy 8 smartphones. Meanwhile, Google-made Pixel smartphones that debuted last year will likely get a second generation in the months ahead as rivals field new champions to battle in the prime year-end holiday shopping market.

  17. MIAMI: The largest asteroid in more than a century will whiz safely past Earth on September 1 at a safe but unusually close distance of about 4.4 million miles (7 million kilometres), NASA said. The asteroid was discovered in 1981 and is named Florence after the famed 19th-century founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. "Florence is the largest asteroid to pass this close to our planet since the first near-Earth asteroid was discovered over a century ago," said a US space agency statement. It is one of the biggest asteroids in the Earth's vicinity, and measures about 2.7 miles (4.4 kilometres) wide ? or about the size of 30 Egyptian pyramids stuck together. "While many known asteroids have passed by closer to Earth than Florence will on September 1, all of those were estimated to be smaller," said Paul Chodas, manager of NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object Studies. Scientists plan to study the asteroid up close when it passes, using ground-based radar imaging in California and Puerto Rico. "The resulting radar images will show the real size of Florence and also could reveal surface details as small as about 30 feet (10 meters)," said NASA. This pass will be Florence's closest "since 1890 and the closest it will ever be until after 2500," added the US space agency. Asteroids are small, natural rocky bodies that orbit the Sun. Large asteroid collisions with Earth are rare. A car-sized asteroid hits Earth's atmosphere about once a year and burns up before reaching the surface. "About every 2,000 years or so, a meteoroid the size of a football field hits Earth and causes significant damage to the area," said NASA. "Finally, only once every few million years, an object large enough to threaten Earth's civilization comes along." Scientists are confident that Florence will not be one of them.
  18. ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Wednesday proposed an increase in petroleum prices on Wednesday. The regulatory body proposed an increase of Rs0.7 per litre in the price of diesel and an increase of Rs2.24 per litre in the petrol in the proposal sent to the petroleum ministry. If the proposed prices are increased by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, petrol would be sold at Rs71.8 per litre and diesel would be sold at Rs78.1. 19. It's that time of the year when Apple is all set to announce the next iPhone and it seems like the date may just be September 12th. So if you are excited about the new device, we suggest you mark down the date on your calendar. The event is supposed to be held at 9:00 AM. © Youtube This move does not come to us a surprise as Apple have announced their new line of iPhones every September since 2012.
