  1. According to a recent study done by a team of researchers from Johns Hopkins University, too much oral *** can increase the chances of one getting mouth and throat cancer. Yes, we wish this wasn’t true but unfortunately it is true! The study shows a correlation between oral *** and human papillomavirus (HPV). © Unsplash The study was done on more than 500 people and it was based on their sexual activities. The behavioral study was done on the basis of points like a person’s age, the age when they had *** for the first time, and how many people they had oral *** within a short span of time. The study also suggested that if a subject had had over 10 oral *** partners then the chances of them getting HPV-related cancer is 4.3 times higher. Also, engaging in oral *** at a very young age and then having multiple partners in a short time period increases the risk of getting cancer. © Unsplash According to the study, it was also found that the subjects with older sexual partners at a young age are also at risk of getting cancer. This also applied to subjects who had extramarital ***. The study also pointed that participants who engage in oral *** before having coitus for the first time also put people at an increased risk of contracting HPV. This happens as contact through the genitals the first time sets the body to come up with a 'robust immune response.' View the full article
  2. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021 has just begun and we're already flooded with a ton of new gadgets and announcements. One thing in particular that stood out to us this year so far is the number of rollable and foldable phones that we've seen. LG started off by teasing us with a look at the LG Rollable. The Rollable phone, although looks like a concept, is very much a real thing and it's apparently coming out this year. They basically showed off a phone with an expanding display and it looks something straight out of a sci-fi movie. © LG LG hasn't mentioned a thing about this phone but just its mere existence has us super excited and we can't wait to check it out in person. We really hope LG manages to couple it with some solid specs to compete with other flagships on the market. Moving on, TCL also showcased a very interesting rollable phone, however, this one's a concept and we're not entirely sure if it'll make its way to the market. TCL is not new to these form factors as the company has already toyed with the idea of displays with different form factors but the new ones look very promising. In addition to the rollable phone, TCL also showcased a scrolling display with a 100% color gamut. TCL said its technology can be used for flexible, curved, and foldable displays. It wouldn't be CES without TCL showing off some future tech concepts! This is the AMOLED Rollable Display: It can extend from 6.7" to 7.8" with a tap of the finger. #CES2021 @TCL_USA @TCLMobileGlobal pic.twitter.com/Gtxihs7eDD — Brad Molen (@phonewisdom) January 11, 2021 Overall, we got to see some solid new devices that gave us a glimpse into the future of smartphones. Of course, LG and TCL aren't going to be the only ones to announce these new devices and plenty of new manufacturers will show up over the next few days. It'll be interesting to see what kind of unique phones we get this year in addition to standard Galaxy and iPhones. View the full article

The rivalry between the fans of the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams was once again set ablaze on Twitter when the International Cricket Council put a poll to see who among “giants” like Imran Khan, Virat Kohli, Ab de Villiers and Meg Lanning was the best. “Captaincy proved a blessing for some extraordinary cricketers. Their averages improved as leaders. You decide which of these ‘pacesetters’ were the best among these geniuses!,” the ICC tweeted. Australian captain Tim Paine's unwarranted banter with Ravichandran Ashwin did garner criticism. And, the conduct of Steve Smith, too, was questioned by fans. View the full article

  9. Apple's prototype units never really make it out of their campus and they're really good at hiding their work. Except for the one time when an Apple employee accidentally left a pre-production iPhone 4 at a bar and the world got to see it early, we haven't seen many Apple prototype units. Now, it's the original Apple Watch prototype that shown up online. Here, take a look - Prototype Apple Watch with Security Case runs an Internal Pre-WatchOS 1.0 build, complete with internal testing apps and development settings. It’s extremely amazing that something like this could still exist; without having been destroyed. #appleinternal pic.twitter.com/WDTWP0NpIp — Apple Demo (@AppleDemoYT) December 27, 2020 As you can see, we're looking at an early prototype of the Apple Watch that's sitting inside a bulky case. It essentially makes the Apple Watch look like an iPod, a rather clever way of keeping it under the wraps. The images also show how some UI elements of the watchOS were present from the early days. In fact, even the physical appearance of the watch hasn't really changed much since the original Apple Watch that came out back in 2015. Of course, the newer versions are more powerful and come with some awesome features, but we think it's time for a design change. © Twitter/AppleDemoYT It'll be interesting to see if Apple is cooking something behind the scenes for its next Apple Watch release. But for now, you'll have to settle with either the Apple Watch Series 6 or the Apple Watch SE. Either way, you'll be getting a really great watch to go with your iPhone. View the full article
  10. If you are following Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 14, then you would know that recently there was a huge clash between two popular contestants, Rakhi Sawant and Nikki Tamboli. Now, turns out good friends have turned into foes. The recent promo clip of the show, shared by the channel on its social media page, shows Abhinav Shukla and Aly Goni getting into a fight, due to Rahul Vaidya. For the uninitiated, Rahul has been at loggerheads with Abhinav and Rubina Dilaik since the very beginning, and Aly and Jasmin have usually shared a cordial relation with the real-life couple. Judging by a new promo, it seems that Abhinav is annoyed with Aly and lashes out at him for not supporting him during tasks but instead helping Rahul out. Abhinav also tells Aly that he and Rubina support Aly in all the tasks and do not want Rahul to become the new captain. Aly says that if Rahul is in the task, he will not think about anything else and wants Rahul to win. Abhinav can even be seen replying to Aly's comment saying, "Galat cheezein mat bol (do not say wrong things)". Watch the promo here View this post on Instagram Meanwhile even Rubina can be seen expressing her disappointment as she reminds Aly that she helped him in every captaincy task. In an earlier interaction with India Today, Aly had expressed his disappointment at Rahul's voluntary exit from the Bigg Boss 14 house, saying that he was shocked. He said had advised Rahul against the decision. Aly had revealed that he and Rahul became close friends. Who are you supporting in the show? View the full article
  11. The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020 was a plain and simple disappointment for the Indian cricket team, that scored their lowest total in the history of Test cricket (36) at the Adelaide Oval. View this post on Instagram However, it turned out to be worse for the young batting opener, Prithvi Shaw who only managed to play six deliveries throughout the match, got a duck in the first innings, and 4 in the second. Becoming the butt of everyone’s joke on social media, Shaw is currently undergoing the ‘troll’ phase a player has to suffer after a disappointing performance on the field - that’s the way modern day sports has shaped up. For his competitors though, there is nothing better than an unconfident and vulnerable player showing up on the crease and losing his wicket for cheap and they would want to make the most out of it. View this post on Instagram Rubbing salt on Shaw’s wounds, Australian opener Joe Burns expressed that he hopes that the 21-year-old’s struggles continue to worry him for the time he is playing against the Australians and that he would not help him with any tips until the series is over. "I wouldn't give him any advice as I am playing against him. I'm hoping that he makes no runs at all. I actually don't know what form he is been in. I haven't been following him," Burns said while replying to a query from ANI. View this post on Instagram "He is obviously a quality player if he is playing for India. I might give advice at the end of the series, but not after the first game," he added. Burns himself was also in a massive slump as far as his form on the crease was concerned but managed to play a possibly career-saving second innings in the Adelaide Test, an unbeaten half-century, that led his team to an easy victory at home. 13. As 2020 draws to a close, we thought we should go back and revisit some shows that were like a breath of fresh air. On TV, we were dealing with some regressive shows like Naagin that had no value attached and made us wonder if the old 90s shows were way ahead of their time. With lockdown, everything was put on halt including TV shoots, and as there was nothing on the small screens that people could binge on, Doordarshan came up with the idea of reviving old shows that had a cult-like fan following. These shows kept us sane throughout the lockdown and broke the monotony of shows that had no substance. 1. Ramayan Ramayan’s popularity was not so surprising considering the show was a huge phenomenon once upon a time. The old days were back and people finally got a family show in the truest sense which they followed religiously during the lockdown. 2. Mahabharat With no-brainer shows like Naagin and Kumkum Bhagya, we were somewhere losing connection with our roots. Nitish Bharadwaj, who used to play the iconic character of Bhagwan Shri Krishna in the epic drama told IANS, "This is wonderful. There are a certain set of values to be learned from Ramayan and some lessons from Mahabharat. Ramayan will teach today's generation restraint while Mahabharat will give them so many things to think about. It will help them introspect." And we totally agree with him. 3. Hum Paanch The story of Anand Mathur's ordinary family including his second wife Bina Mathur and his five daughters, showed women in a much more progressive light than shows of today. Hum Paanch was one of those serials that received a cult status with its content which everyone in the family found relatable. 4. Dekh Bhai Dekh Long before Indian TV shows ruined the space with the scheming saas-bahu soaps, some shows focused on the light-hearted moments of a much larger family. Dekh Bhai Dekh took viewers through the ups and downs of a joint family, their relationships, their troubles with a good dose of healthy, clean comedy. 5. Shriman Shrimati The show stars late actors Reema Lagoo and Jatin Kanakia, along with Archana Puran Singh and Rakesh Bedi and shows how we have lost originality when it comes to humour. This show gave us a chance to relive those golden days when the banters were genuinely funny and light-hearted. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Archana said, “I’m extremely happy that a show whose humour has survived till date is finally going to be seen by the generation which in many ways is starved of genuinely funny and well-written humorous shows today. Even though it was made three decades ago, it has survived the test of time and [has therefore been] reconsidered.” Have you watched all of these shows? Let us know in the comments section below. 15. When 2019 was coming to an end, and we were all making resolutions for the new year, no one had the slightest clue what 2020 had in store for us. All of our plans and resolutions came crashing as everything from theatres to international flights, were shut for a good chunk of 2020. In terms of entertainment, all we were left with was our laptops/TVs and yes, shows and movies on OTT platforms. We were lucky enough that we got some of the greatest characters and performances that made our life a little less miserable because work from home and working at home wasn’t really easy to deal with. Here are the 10 such strong characters (in no particular order) from web shows and movies that were impressive and kept us hooked to OTT platforms: 1. Harshad Mehta View this post on Instagram It was unbelievable how Pratik Gandhi pulled off a complicated character like that of Harshad Mehta. It was a controversial character but Pratik helped us see the emotional side of the man behind one of the biggest scams. 2. Hathoda Tyagi View this post on Instagram Hathoda Tyagi was surely one of the strongest characters that 2020 gave us. It’s not easy to show the deepest of your emotions without any dialogues but just emotions, but Abhishek Banerjee as Tyagi surely cracked it. 3. Munna Tripathi View this post on Instagram Munna Tripathi aka Divyenndu Sharma had already made us swoon in the first season but this time, he gave us an extra dose of entertainment and conquered it with his acting chops and some extra cuss words in Mirzapur 2. 4. Beena Tripathi View this post on Instagram Rasika Dugal as Beena was indeed a promising character and from the moment we saw her in the first season, we knew there was more to her. With the second season, we got to know her as someone who can manipulate power according to her own convenience and we wouldn't be wrong in calling her one of the strongest women characters of 2020. 5. Dhananjay Rajput View this post on Instagram It’s sad to see that Arshad Warsi who’s a brilliant actor is always reduced to limited screen space and smaller roles but as Dhananjay Rajput in Asur, he nailed it. He is seen investigating the murder of his own wife and that’s what makes him an extraordinary character. 6. Abhishek Tripathi View this post on Instagram As Abhishek, Jitendra Kumar was relatable and he showed the struggles of a millennial stuck in a government job, but dreams of working for an MNC. It was because of the simplicity and relatability, the character in Panchayat really stood out. 7. Kaleen Bhaiya And Sattu View this post on Instagram When it comes to Pankaj Tripathi, we expect something powerful and unique. We had already seen Kaleen Bhaiya and in the second season, Pankaj Tripathi made sure that he doesn’t lose the edge. While Kaleen Bhaiya was a rather serious character, Sattu from Ludo had a completely different flavour to it. They both were contrasting characters but left an indelible impression on us. 8. Inspector Jatil Yadav View this post on Instagram If you have missed Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Inspector Jatil Yadav in Raat Akeli Hai, you’re surely missing out on one of the craziest characters that had both wit and humour. 9. Kaashipur Wale Baba View this post on InstagramBobby Deol’s performance as Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala is gripping and people have appreciated his performance as he showed the dark side of self-acclaimed godmen in the country. In an interview with Indian Express, he said, “This was a very challenging role because now in my career, I am looking for roles that would push me to give my best. I am trying to portray characters that people would not imagine me playing on the screen.” 10. Aarya Sareen View this post on Instagram As Aarya, Sushmita Sen delivered a powerful performance, highlighting the struggles of a single mother turned gangster. She reminded the audience of her old charm and proved that she's still got it in her. There are a few more powerful performances like that of Kak Kay Menon in Special Ops. Which character did you love the most? Let us know in the comments section below. View the full article
