  2. A cricket match between India and Pakistan is arguably the biggest rivalry in the sport. With billions of fans tuning into their TV sets, it’s no surprise that the encounter always creates new viewership records. Due to the ongoing political tensions between both the nations, India and Pakistan don’t play bi-later series anymore. The only time the fans get to witness the two teams fight it out on a cricket field is during the major multi-nation events hosted by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). © Reuters Although players always insist that they treat this match like any other encounter but in reality, like fans, they also feel the nerves. Whenever these two neighbouring countries go up against each other, the players go through intense amounts of pressure, knowing that their fans would accept any defeat but not this one. Legendary Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh played against Pakistan many times during his mighty successful career but still this encounter gave him some jitters. © Reuters The 41-year-old recently went down the memory lane and shared an interesting anecdote about himself that happened during the 2011 World Cup semi-final against arch-rivals Pakistan. ‘The Turbanator’ was one of the key members of the Indian bowling attack in the tournament and given his experience, skipper MS Dhoni made the veteran off-spinner bowl some tough overs. © Reuters Chasing 261, there was a period when the match looked well in balance as Pakistan had reached 142 at the loss of four wickets. Given the crucial juncture of the match, Dhoni decided to bring in his lead spinner back into the attack after the drinks break. Bowling tough overs was not new to Harbhajan. He had done it many times before but given what was on the line, he started feeling the pressure, so much so that he actually started shivering. © Reuters India’s most successful spinner across all formats made this huge revelation on ‘Lessons From The World's Best’ hosted by former India mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton. “There were times… when I was playing the India vs Pakistan World Cup match in Mohali. When Dhoni asked me to bowl in the second spell I actually started shivering. They were batting really well at that stage. He asked me to bowl after the drinks break. I did not want to show people the pressure,” Harbhajan told Upton. © Reuters “You have to keep calm and think that you've done this before and for all these years, you have worked hard for this moment. Keep those emotions aside, focus, take a deep breath and do what you know you do best. “I got a wicket off the first ball itself and it helped me get my confidence back. I was calmer and full of emotions after that wicket and it gave me that breathing space,” said Harbhajan explaining how he controlled his nerves and went on to take crucial wickets that swung the tide in India’s favour. 3. The shocking news of the demise of legendary cricketer Shane Warne stunned the entire cricketing world. Warne is remembered not only as an extraordinary spin bowler but also as a joyful and energetic man. You will very rarely find a picture where Warne is looking sad. He was always found with that broad and lively smile. Shane earned the respect of all the cricketing nations and every cricketer who has played against him remembers Shane with utmost love and respect. View this post on Instagram Obviously, the Australian cricket team of which he was a member, will always have a special place dedicated to the great Shane Warne. Cricket Australia held Warne’s memorial services at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The service was attended by many former cricketers. Another great Aussie cricketer Andrew Symonds recalled his fond memories with Shane Warne as he had spent a long time with Warne as a teammate during his international cricketing days. Andrew recalled a funny moment when he found rolls of $100 notes in Warne's hotel room. “It was around 49 grand laying on the ground there”. Symonds recalls – “It sort of caught my eye as I went past, just rolls and rolls of money. I said to Warnie, ‘Mate what's the story here? He goes “Oh I had a little win at the casino last night Roy and you know what? Cash is king” you realise how special he was,” Symonds said. Indeed Shane Warne was a special cricketer and a human being. Dedication and taking on challenges were his speciality. The first IPL trophy was lifted by the Rajasthan Royal under Shane Warne’s leadership. He was not only the captain of Rajasthan Royals but was a mentor who helped every team member bring out their strength and polish them. After winning the trophy he took the entire team on a holiday to celebrate and unwind. That shows the character of the great Shane Warne. View this post on Instagram Warne has left us and a void has been created. The world will still move on. Many cricketers will come and go. But the void created by the passing away of Shane Warne will never be filled. View the full article
  4. Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh is very passionate about a lot of things, besides of course his one true love- movies. However, another thing that he is really crazy about is football! Yes, he loves watching and supporting his favourite football team, which is the English Premier League team Arsenal. © Twitter Often, the actor can be seen sharing his love for the football club and also his takes on the players. Now, if you've been following Ranveer or just the sport in general as a big football fan in India, you'd know that the Padmaavat actor is actually in the United Kingdom attending a hell of a lot of football matches. As you know, Ranveer is an English Premier League ambassador, with the actor even an ambassador for Star Sports. © Premier League And boy, has he been relishing a lot of tasty football matches across the Premier League. Ranveer was seen mingling with the likes of Bella Hadid during his tour and recently, went on to reveal his dream moment of meeting his favourite footballer, Thierry Henry. © Ranveer Singh Henry, who is regarded as one of the legendary players of the game, has played for clubs like Arsenal and Barcelona, while also representing the France national team. Speaking about how it felt to meet his childhood hero in Mumbai a couple of years back, Ranveer said, "He was in Mumbai for a brand that is a competitor to a brand I am attached to. There was a big question mark as to whether I'd be able to meet him. I spoke to everyone I had to and said, 'Guys everything aside, this guy is my childhood hero. You've got to let me meet him'. And they were ever so gracious. "On the way to meet him, I was very excited. But the minute he came in front of me, I broke out in tears. I couldn't control my emotions as I saw him in the flesh. Tears were coming down. I just started crying. I have sat in front of the TV watching Thierry Henry. I have cheered him with my core and screaming when he scored. In that moment, all of that came back. All those years of admiration!" Ranveer Singh cheers for Thierry Henry at the Puma Event | Oct 26, 2016 pic.twitter.com/vvwFRmqOSU — Ranveer Singh Talks (@RanveerTalks) October 27, 2016 The Bollywood star also revealed how Thierry's response also changed the way he interacts with his fans now. "He was so patient, kind, and warm with me and with all my friends that I had taken along with me to meet him. That just changed me forever. Prior to that, whenever I saw people moving to tears on meeting me, or when someone tattooed your face or name on their body, I used to find it overwhelming. I was curious that isn't all this a bit much. But when that happened to me, I understood that. "I had a new-found way of looking at it. It was a new respect that I found for that dynamic. In that moment, I learnt a lesson for life. I engage those fans very differently now. I am so much more respectful and sensitive to what they're feeling in that moment because it happened to me. Because how kind and warm he was to me, it meant the world to me. He made me feel so special that I want to pay that kindness and goodness forward." he said. On the work front, Ranveer will be seen in his upcoming film Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, and Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Source: Hindustan Times View the full article
  5. There’s a reason why Aamir Khan is called the perfectionist of Bollywood. It’s because he is a jack of all trades and nails every role he does on-screen with utmost conviction. Not just his acting, but he switches up his looks in every film that often stays with the audience and is copied by masses even after years. © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures Be it his glorious ’stache in Mangal Pandey or his alienesque outfits in PK, his looks speak for the characters he plays. Some of the looks from his movies have become a huge trend as well that were imitated by several Indian men. On the actor’s 57th birthday, here’s looking back at some of the most impressionable looks from his movies that became big trends. © Excel Entertainment Here are five style trends that Aamir Khan single-handedly popularised in his career: 1. Goatee in Dil Chahta Hai © Excel Entertainment If we had a penny for each time we saw a guy walking on the street with a goatee like Aamir had in Dil Chahta Hai, we would have enough money to produce the actor’s next film. The movie gave many style goals but Aamir’s goatee and spiky short hair stood out completely. 2. The Sailor Cap In Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin © T-Series The nautical style is huge right now but Aamir did it before it was cool. His character in Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Raghu had a unique style and his signature look included a navy cap which got so popular that it was everywhere in the local stores back in the 90s. Everybody wanted it! 3. The Ghajini Cut © Geetha Arts It only took a poster of the movie for guys to flock to the salons to get the buzz cut just like Aamir. It’s funny because he wasn’t trying to serve a hairstyle trend. The character gets this look after sustaining injuries on the head in the film. It was an accidental trend that Aamir started and it got HUGE! 4. The Stole Look In Fanaa © Yash Raj Films If there’s anyone who can make a humble stole look like a trend you’d want to copy, it is Aamir and his look in Fanaa is proof. He is a tour guide who wears a shirt, denim jackets and a quirky stole wrapped around his neck. This became an iconic look and revived the stole trend in menswear. 5. His Hairstyle In Rang De Basanti © Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra Pictures His character in the film was carefree, funny and stylish and thus his look too was in line with a young college-goer. He again switched up his hair and rocked messy, curly, slightly longer hair that was too cool for school and became the most copied look among college-going guys at the time. View the full article

During the promotions of the film, their camaraderie and fun banter hinted that they share a comfortable and friendly bond in real-life as well. She said, “He’s (Ranbir) easy to work with as he’s my friend. We would fight. I even cried once.” While Ranbir is known to be a fun co-star, Anushka likes to keep to herself and that is why she couldn't take it any longer and started crying. Anushka added, “I didn’t want to fight with him because we were going to shoot a romantic scene. I couldn’t even fight with him. I started to cry like a chick”. Keeping that incident aside, Anushka further expressed that she shared a great camaraderie with Ranbir and concluded by saying, “I have huge respect for him as an artiste. 10. Days after the release of his recent film Antim – The Final Truth, Salman Khan attended a press conference celebrating the film’s success. During the press conference, when asked about his fight scenes in the film with brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, Salman took a walk down memory lane and shared an anecdote from 2010. Dabangg was the first film of Salman Khan to hit Rs 100 crore at the box office. The movie was produced by Salman’s younger brother Arbaaz Khan who also played a supporting role in the film. While Salman Khan played the character of Chulbul Pandey, Arbaaz played his half-brother Makkhanchand "Makkhi" Pandey. The two characters share a love-hate relationship in the film and there is a sequence where Chulbul Pandey beats up Makkhi for his wrongdoings. © Arbaaz Khan Productions Salman revealed that after the screening of Dabangg, Arbaaz’s son Arhaan, who was around 8-years-old at the time, started crying thinking his uncle was actually beating up his father in the film. While crying he also started hitting him. Salman said that he called Arbaaz and the two recreated the fight sequence to make Arhaan understand that nothing was real about that on-screen fight. Salman said, “First Dabangg ke andar jab maine Arbaaz ko maara tha, toh jaise hi trial khatam hua, Arhaan aaya aur rote rote mujhe maarna shuru kar diya. Toh I said, ‘kya hua beta?’ He said, ‘You hit my papa, you hit my papa’ aur itne zor-zor se mujhe maara usne that I had to hug him, you know and I called Arbaaz then hugged him as well and told him that ‘this is all acting and now I will show you how we fought’. Toh Arbaaz aur mujhe woh poora sequence dikhana pada. Toh fir jaake usko samajh mein aaya ki yeh maara maari nahin ho rahi hai, it’s just acting. Toh he thought it was fun and started doing action with us. Ya, but bachchon ke dimaag mein asar hota hai.” © Instagram/BeingSalmanKhan Dabangg was a big blockbuster at the box office and spawned two sequels in Dabangg 2 and Dabangg 3. As for Antim, the movie helmed by Mahesh Manjrekar is holding well at the box office after a slow start. Apart from Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma, Antim also stars Mahima Makwana. 11. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a lot of things to a lot of people but for the fans of the Chennai Super Kings, he will always be their Thala. Even though ‘Captain Cool’ entered his 40’s earlier this year, the fact that he managed to bring home yet another Indian Premier League trophy only strengthened their belief in him. Every year the commentators and analysts ask Dhoni if this would be his final season and every year Dhoni says “definitely not”. However, It is a well-known fact that Dhoni’s future as an athlete is becoming more and more unclear as he grows older. View this post on Instagram So when Dhoni made an appearance at an event organised by the Chennai franchise, the entire city was watching what he had to say. What he did next melted every single fan’s heart who was present at the venue or watched it on the internet later in the day. During the event, he spoke about how he has always thought about important things related to his professional career like where would he play his final match as and Indian cricketer. Along the same lines, Dhoni shared his plans about where would he like to play his final IPL match. So hopefully, my last T20, it will be in Chennai. Whether it's next year, or in five years' time, we don't think about it," he said as his voice began to quiver and a smile appeared on his face. It did not take long for his fans to notice the fact that their skipper had gotten emotional and they shared their support, love and affection for whatever the wicket-keeper batter has done for them over all these years. For a man who is known for never expressing his emotions, the vulnerability in his voice is powerful, shows us how much all of this means to him. He feels just as deeply, if not more. 12. If you have been following Kangana Ranaut’s interviews, you might have a fair idea that she can be brutally blunt. In fact, thanks to her explosive interviews, there was a lot of chitter-chatter around the fact that Kangana wanted to join politics last year. She was in the news for her statement equating Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and for also bashing the drug mafia in Bollywood. This was also the time when her office was demolished while she was in her hometown. View this post on Instagram In an interview with Times Now, Kangana was asked if she was creating controversy to get a political ticket into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Sadly, Kangana calls herself a feminist but didn’t flinch at all with the fact that she insulted Urmila Matondkar while responding to the anchor’s claim. She went on to say, “One doesn’t have to be a genius to figure it’s not very difficult to get a ticket… Even Urmila Matondkar is a soft porn star. I know it’s very blatant… But she’s not known for her acting for sure. What is she known for? For doing soft porn right? If she can get a ticket, why won’t I get a ticket?” Here’s a clip of the interview: It all started when Urmila Matondkar slammed Kangana and said that she should first look at her home state Himachal Pradesh before attacking Maharashtra or Mumbai and the alleged drug nexus in B-Town. She even addressed her as ‘Rudali’. She had said, “Why did this person who has been given Y-security from taxpayers' money not give information about the drug nexus to the police?.” Urmila went on to add that just because someone is shouting all the time, it doesn't mean that the person is speaking the truth. View this post on Instagram After Kangana attacked her publicly, Urmila also gave it back. She also made a reference to how she backed Kangana when Shiv Sena’s member Sanjay Raut humiliated the Queen actor. Urmila condemned that act and was all praises for Kangana as an actor. In an interview with NDTV, she said, “It just goes to show where we stand, and that is precisely what I have been trying to say, that if you have a viewpoint, by all means, you have a right to express it. But it is just that the way you express it and how you express it does matter. Today, as I am spoken about like this by another woman, which level should that be going to? It really fails me.” "When Kangana called me a Soft Port Star the Female Anchor interviewing her smiled gleefully. Isn't that shocking," asks @UrmilaMatondkar on @themojo_in . "Will all who opposed Shiv Sena's slurs for Kangana condemn this too" #UrmilaMatondkar Full show: https://t.co/y5TmPhwJkt pic.twitter.com/Cj6VWAjOkF — barkha dutt (@BDUTT) September 17, 2020 It’s genuinely sad to see two women slamming each other on public platforms. 14. Apple is expected to announce the next iPhone on September 14, which happens to be next week. However, days before the launch event, details of the next iPhone i.e. iPhone 14 have already started to surface. © Jon Prosser Jon Prosser/FPT, who has an incredible track record for Apple-related leaks, published a new video today where he shared renders of the iPhone 14. It’s worth pointing out that these are renders and not the official images. However, it seems like Apple is preparing a major design overhaul if Prosser’s claims come true. © Jon Prosser According to the FPT, the iPhone 14 will completely remove the notch and instead use a small punch hole on the display of the phone. However, he went on to add that Apple will not abandon Face ID and instead embed sensors underneath the display. Other design changes include Apple removing the camera bump completely. Renders show that the handset will have a triple camera setup but will be completely flat at the back. The phone will still have the squared-off design as the iPhone 12 series but will instead be made of titanium. From the renders, the next iPhone definitely look impressive but we will have to wait till next year to find out for sure. © Jon Prosser Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 13 next week where the Cupertino giant is looking to release four models. The models include the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 13 series in the following sizes - iPhone 13 Mini: 5.4-inch, iPhone 13: 6.1-inch, iPhone 13 Pro: 6.1-inch, iPhone 13 Pro Max: 6.7-inch. Previous reports also suggest that Apple has managed to reduce the size of the notch for the upcoming iPhones. Other rumoured features include satellite communication capabilities, 120Hz ProMotion Display and camera upgrades. We will know more about the iPhone 13 series at Apple’s press event scheduled for September 14. Source: Front Page Tech. View the full article
