  1. Adobe has scheduled the end of support for its famous Flash software on December 31st, 2020, which means it's over. While Adobe won't start blocking Flash content until January 12th, major browsers will shut it down soon if they haven't already. Flash has a huge name in web history and it has enjoyed massive cultural relevance over the years. Adobe's Flash software has been in service for over a decade now, making it harder to say goodbye. © Adobe While Adobe is finally letting go of Flash, it will continue to live on in many historical artifacts. The Internet Archive is preserving Flash games and some popular animations like “Peanut Butter Jelly Time.” We all may have different memories with Flash but there's no denying that it has helped us in some way or the other. A lot of people have come out on Twitter to bid adieu to Flash, with many getting emotional. Adobe Flash support officially ends today. pic.twitter.com/NNLcFK2yPx — PCMag (@PCMag) December 31, 2020Farewell, sweet prince. #RIPAdobeFlash pic.twitter.com/Cch3t5Tft5 — Harrison Golden (@harrisongolden) January 1, 2021 RIP Adobe Flash! #RipAdobeFlash 1996-2020 Thank you for making unique memories and making my childhood just a bit brighter. Gone but never forgotten.#AdobeFlashDeath #RIPflash — DemDarnKatz (@LucasHastings2) January 1, 2021 Yep, 2020 was not joking around. Wow. Today is the last day ever for Adobe Flash. 2020 was not joking around. — Aaron Levie (@levie) December 31, 2020thanks Adobe Flash Player pic.twitter.com/UmqKuqnCVY — chocolate bread (@Biz_cutsss) December 31, 2020 Lastly, we'd like to point out that Adobe recommends removing the software from your computers due to security concerns. As much as we love Adobe's Flash, it only makes sense to remove any and all unsupported softwares from our system as soon as possible. View the full article

  3. We don’t need to tell you why dogs are called ‘man’s best friend’, do we? These furballs are perhaps one of the most genuine and selfless beings we will ever have the good luck of meeting during our lifetime. Time and again, we learn about heartwarming incidents where dogs have proven that they deserve a lot more love, respect and devotion than we give them. These loyal to a fault, selfless, adorable balls of fur add so much warmth to our lives, that it is often impossible to not hold them dear at a glance. © Pexels Just like Matilda, who risked her own life and that of her unborn pups in order to save four hospice patients in Leningrad, Russia after a fire broke out on the premises. Upon realising what was to follow, the pregnant dog barked and whined to alert the owner and ran into the burning building. When help arrived, medical emergency workers found Matilda unconscious inside the building - she had suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning. Luckily, it wasn’t fatal and her rescue efforts helped the four residents of the hospice to be taken to safety. © Twitter AmithHegde6-Daily Mail For her part, Matilda suffered from extreme burns all over her body, while her face hair was seared off by the flames. Currently the brave mom-to-be is recuperating at the Vasilek shelter in St Petersburg and waiting to birth her pups, who are healthy and well. Dogs, they truly are angels in disguise for a lot of us. 4. While we can’t stop procrastinating, some people are fighting big battles and turning their life around. Sriharsha Devaraddi was one of us who was living his dream life and was rising fast in the insurance and banking sector but a road accident changed his life in the year 2013. As per TOI, he became quadriplegic and he saw things becoming worse. He was dependant on his wife and parents for a long time due to the accident. However, now in 2020, Sriharsha is in the national para shooting squad. He will also be taking part in Tokyo Paralympics. © BCCL He said, "I had a freak shot of zero at the World Championships in Sydney and my wife was in tears. Though I fought back with a string of high scores, I missed the qualification mark by three points.” "Managing each month is a challenge but I'm doing it with the help of well-wishers. First, it was the VRL group and the latest is shooter Apurvi Chandela's mother who has contributed Rs 1 lakh," he added. He also expressed, "I began driving a modified car in 2016. Once we were driving past a shooting academy when my son said he wanted to look around. When he came back, the shooting instructor was also with him and soon I was introduced to para shooting. I couldn't do pistol shooting as my hand is curled. I chose the rifle instead as I could use a modified trigger. I competed in my first Nationals in Kerala without any equipment and won a bronze medal in 2017. Next year, I bagged two silver, and last year in Bhopal, I won two gold medals.” © TOI In the year 2019, he won two silver medals at the Sharjah IWAS Games which was a proud moment for him and his family. Looking back at what happened seven years ago, he said, “The Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) work between Hubballi and Dharwad was on then. I was not speeding but owing to the poor condition of the road, I skidded and landed on my neck with my helmet firmly strapped on. From there, I couldn't get up.” © BCCL "Rakesh sir set up an electronic target at my house. I shoot from the drawing-room and the pellet travels through the kitchen to hit the target in the bedroom. To avoid any mishaps we lock the doors and tell people not to come during those two hours of training. There is no one around except me and my loader - it's mostly my wife or my mother, who also knows what to do," he added. This is an inspirational journey for most of us. What do you think? The 41-year-old Labour Party MP has been given three fundamental portfolios including Community and Voluntary Sector, Diversity, Inclusion and Ethnic Communities, as well as Social Development and Employment. © Twitter Mint-Bloomberg Priyanca had moved to New Zealand for higher education before first securing her seat as a Labour Party MP in 2017. Reportedly, in 2019, she was appointed the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister for Ethnic Communities. Presently an Auckland resident, Priyanca made a name for herself as an advocate of female domestic violence survivors and exploited migrant workers. Originally from Ernakulam, Priyanca grew up in Singapore and eventually moved to New Zealand for her Master’s degree in Development Studies from Victoria University of Wellington. © Twitter chitralekhamag Since the news broke, Indians have taken the time out to congratulate and celebrate Priyanca’s achievements. 7. Recently, the Indian audience has shifted its focus more on web series with great content instead of the typical Bollywood movies with the same old group of actors. The shift in quality instead of big names is a welcome one, and hopefully, we will keep on getting great stories instead of just big names backing a project. One such web series that received a lot of praise recently is Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story. The star of the show, Pratik Gandhi, is rightfully getting all the love for his performance as the titular Harshad Mehta. View the full article
  8. Indian Armed Forces are taking initiatives towards being more inclusive of female soldiers and pilots. The Indian Navy now has its first batch of female pilots for Maritime Reconnaissance (MR) missions on Dornier aircraft. The pilots completed their Dornier Operational Flying Training on the 20th of October at INS Garuda in Kochi. © BCCL The three women out of the six pilots are Lieutenant Shubhangi Swaroop, Lt. Divya Sharma, and Lt Shivangi who took the 27th Dornier Operational Flying Training (DOFT) course. They graduated on October 22 as fully operational MR pilots and the ceremony was held at INS Garuda after completion of their course. The pilots had earlier undertaken basic flying training with the Indian Air Force as well as the Indian Navy just before the DOFT course. The training included one month of ground training which was followed by eight months of flying training at INAS 550, that constituted the nine-month-long course at the Dornier Squadron of the Southern Naval Command. #harkaamdeshkenaam First batch of 03 women pilots of @indiannavy operationalised as MR pilots on Dornier a/c as they complete Dornier ops flg training (DOFT) with 03 male counterparts at INS Garuda, #SNC, #Kochi on 20 Oct 20.@SpokespersonMoD @DefenceMinIndia pic.twitter.com/tJFDg1vTgq — PRO Defence Kochi (@DefencePROkochi) October 22, 2020 The PRO Defence Kochi took to Twitter saying, “The first batch of 03 women pilots of @indiannavy operationalized as MR pilots on Dornier a/c as they complete Dornier ops flg training (DOFT) with 03 male counterparts at INS Garuda, #SNC, #Kochi on 20 Oct 20.” Lieutenant Shubhangi Swaroop is from Uttar Pradesh, Tilhar and Lt Divya Sharma from New Delhi. 9. Farhan Akhtar, in addition to his impressive acting skills and exuding different avatars, is also sartorially quite advanced. Even if he steps out in the most understated manner, his style sense hits the right nerve. © Viral Bhayani This time too, for his recent appearance, Farhan was seen wearing high-top sneakers that made a jaw-dropping statement. Check it out here: © Viral Bhayani Coming to the rest of his outfit, Farhan wore a basic white T-shirt and topped it off with a blue hoodie. We also like this choice of grey harem shorts that pair well with his overall garb. As for his bag, he was seen carrying a duffle, instead of a messenger or man-purse, which is again a unique addition, we have to say. Overall, the man has certainly cracked the street-style code and we can't help but laud his choices here. View the full article
  10. Skullcandy has been making excellent audio equipment for years now, and the company recently introduced a set of truly wireless earbuds. We've been using their Indy Fuel true wireless earbuds for quite some time now and we think this particular pair of earbuds have a lot going for them. Here's our full review of the Skullcandy Indy Fuel earbuds. Design & Build Quality Straight out of the box, the Indy Fuel earbuds won't excite you because of the way it looks. They look like, you know, every other stick-style earbuds in the market. It even comes in a very simple black box that's much bulkier than something like the AirPods Pro. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer Honestly, the whole presentation is very offputting but it at least gets other things right. For starters, we really like the fact that it uses a USB Type-C port for charging instead of micro USB. But we didn't even have to use it to charge this bad boy because it supports wireless charging as well. There are 4 LED lights to indicate the battery level and charging status of the case. You can simply flip the lid open to get a quick glimpse at the indicator. The lid's hinge feels nice and snappy, although it's worth pointing out that it wasn't giving a full seal unless we applied some pressure to close it properly. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer It's also worth pointing out that the earbuds and the charging case feel like they're made out of cheap plastic. We're not paying a premium price for these earbuds, but we think the build quality could've been better. Overall, we think Skullcandy could have put in a little bit more effort into making this feel a tad bit premium. It's not bad by any means, but we won't be recommending this to someone who's looking for something that's a bit more sophisticated. How Do These Fit? It's often hard to find a pair of earbuds, especially wireless ones, that fit. Well, we're glad that we didn't have any issues with the Indy Fuel when it comes to fit. In fact, we were able to get a snug fit with the Indy Fit. They come with interchangeable silicone tips and ear wings. We totally love the earbuds that come with these wings because they tend to fit better than the ones that don't have them. You can always remove them if you don't like them. It's all about finding the right combination of ear tips and wings. Once you have a stable fit and a great seal, then you're good to go. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer The Indy Fuel doesn't have noise cancellation unlike some other premium offerings on the market, but we found the noise isolation to be pretty good. Controls and Features The Indy Fuel earbuds come with capacitive touch controls and here's a set of controls that you get - Single tap: Volume up (right); Volume down (left) Double-tap: Play/Pause or answer/end calls Triple tap: Digital assistant Tap + tap and hold: Toggle ambient mode Double-tap + tap and hold: EQ Mode These controls work flawlessly and they're very reliable. You also get a companion app on both iOS as well as Android to check out the features of the earbuds. We'd like to mention that the Indy Fuel comes with built-in Tile tracking. It's an awesome feature to have considering the fact that these are very easy to lose. Sound Quality The Skullcandy Indy Fuel sounds great, especially for the price. Of course, these aren't the best sounding pair of earbuds out there on the market. There are other expensive options out there for that. But these are certainly great for the price. They have a good balance between the most common frequencies with nice defined bass. Treble is sharp without being shrill, although it's worth pointing out that these are more mid-heavy. There's no EQ in the app, by the way, so you're stuck with the profile you get. Overall, the sound quality is great for the price. © MensXP/Karthik Iyer Battery Life In terms of battery life, we were able to get around 4 hours of battery life and an additional 3 charges from the case. It's on par with what you'd get with most wireless earbuds on the market. We also like the charging case support wireless charging, making it very convenient. The Final Say The Skullcandy Indy Fuel is priced at Rs 6,999 in India and at that price, we think they're really good. The design and the build quality could've been better. But the audio quality is pretty good and you also get features like Tile tracking, wireless charging, and more. You can buy them from Skullcandy's official website. View the full article
  11. OnePlus has already created a lot of hype for its launch event tomorrow where the company is expected to showcase a new phone called OnePlus Nord. Along with the new phone, we're also expecting to see OnePlus' first pair of truly wireless earbuds, the OnePlus Buds. In case you missed it, we already got a glimpse of the OnePlus Buds a few days back when OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei had an interaction with YouTube creator Marques Brownlee. You can check out the OnePlus Buds below - © YouTube/ Marques Brownlee But besides that, the folks over at 9to5Google have now showcased us some leaked renders. These renders give us our best look at the OnePlus Buds. So, the first thing to note is that the OnePlus Buds will be available in three colourways - While, Black, and Teal. Carl Pei is seen wearing the Teal variant in the video, but we'll have to see how it looks in person. As for the design, we can see a rounded case here that looks more or less similar to the Pixel Buds. The case seems to have a matte finish, although that could just be the rendered image. We also see an LED indicator for the battery on the front along with a physical button for pairing and switching button. The earbuds, well, they just look like any other TWS earbuds on the market. There's nothing unusually different here, so there's nothing much to talk about. © 9to5Google We are expecting OnePlus to launch these tomorrow alongside the OnePlus Nord. We'll have more to talk about its features once it becomes official tomorrow. OnePlus has officially confirmed that the earphones will weigh 4.6 grams each whereas the charging case weighs 36 grams. The company also noted that we can expect around 30 hours of life in total, so that's interesting. Let's just wait for more info about these tomorrow. Source: 9to5Google View the full article
  12. For someone who was often labelled as brash and overtly aggressive early in his career, Virat Kohli has come a long way to not only mature into an astute leader for Team India, but also as one of the best batsmen in modern-day cricket. Today, he stands tall with numerous batting and captaincy records highlighting his success in international cricket. Owing to his success with the willow, Kohli is one of the only three cricketers to enjoy a lucrative A+ central contract with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that allows him to earn a staggering Rs 7 crore per year. Apart from that, he earns quite handsomely through brand endorsements due to his popularity amongst fans. For someone who has success, fame and money, it's quite obvious to see Kohli boasting of some of the most desirable and ridiculously expensive things. From swanky cars, luxury pads to exclusive timepieces, 'King Kohli' has got it all. Here's a look at 5 of the most expensive things owned by the Indian captain that truly make him a cut above the rest: 1. Rolex Daytona Rainbow Everose Gold (Rs 69 Lakh) © YouTube Often labelled as the 'king' of modern-day cricket, the 31-year-old, for all his wealth, quite understandably owns properties in the plush areas of Indian cities. Amongst the houses he owns, Kohli has one luxurious bungalow in Gurugram, Haryana. Located in DLF Phase 1, the 500-square-yard bungalow is no less than a palace. With modern architecture and jaw-dropping interiors, Kohli's bungalow, just like its owner, breathes elegance and style. From the exquisite swimming pool, well-decked bar to alluring designs inside, the house is everything that Kohli represents, both on and off the field. The Indian captain shelled out a whopping Rs 80 crore to buy this property right after his marriage to Anushka Sharma in Italy. View the full article

  14. The coronavirus outbreak in the country is gradually sending people into a tizzy, and it might not be long before real panic strikes as the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India sees a steady climb. However, despite having witnessed the havoc coronavirus has wreaked across the globe, if our country is still managing to stand tall, it is because of the unsung heroes who are braving all odds, risking their personal safety and working relentlessly to serve the people and help contain this life-threatening contagion. © Twitter These 7 heroes are godsend and the real saviours during this global pandemic, and without their selfless service, our world would not only come to a scary standstill but perhaps also collapse altogether. 1. Doctors, Nurses & Public Health OfficialsWe couldnât have kicked off this list without these miracle workers who are literally saving lives right now. With 162 countries trying to fight the pandemic, we have heard of enough heroic tales of the doctors and nurses who are literally working straight 8 hour shifts wearing diapers and shaving their heads off to wear the safety gear - just so that their patients find relief. © BCCL For instance, this Indian plastic surgeon who stayed back in China to help the infected victims instead of seeking the safety of his homeland. There are thousands of more such inspiring stories. 2. Armed Forces © Twitter Over 890 Indians have been evacuated by IAF and Air India rescue flights so far. The IAF is also set to rescue Indian nationals from Iran, The Indian armed forces has been doing extensive work not only by opening its bases to serve as quarantine facilities, but also by carrying medical supplies and serving the general public amid the outbreak. 3. Public Transportation Drivers & Conductors © BCCL Remember that Hubli bus conductor who was handing out free masks to passengers? That is just one way these guys have been serving the country. Imagine what would happen if these public transportation drivers went on indefinite leaves? Life really would come to a standstill. 4. Delivery Guys © B P Deepu-EPS With so many people working from home amid the nationwide coronavirus outbreak, and with 80 percent of them being clueless about cooking, a vast majority of people are relying on food delivery services to keep them well fed. But despite the fact that even they have faced a dip in their sales, deliveries are still being made. These men on bikes and cycles risking their safety to deliver food to these less culinarily-endowed (or just too lazy/entitled) people, also deserve a special mention. 5. Security Personnel © BCCL We feel safe because we know they are out there guarding us. Be it our guard bhaiya or the security personnel on the roads and public places who are helping maintain law and decorum at this point, we ought to acknowledge their service especially at a time like this. 6. Shopkeepers & Salespersons © Pixabay We donât often think about it, but imagine how lucky and privileged we are to have people out there who are putting out food on the shelves for us. If the salesperson stopped coming to work and decided to stay home, or if the shopkeepers shut shop, how would we manage to survive the mass quarantines? Quarantines have already taken an ugly face with empty shelves and people crying for basic commodities, imagine living through a complete lockdown like that? 7. Sanitation Workers © BCCL Last but definitely not the least, because all of it will be equally meaningless without these people who are relentlessly going about their job cleaning and sanitising not only our streets, offices and public places, but by also helping sterilise public transport, airports and railway stations therefore playing a vital role in containing the contagion. There is so much we take for granted in our daily lives. There is so much to be grateful for and itâs sad to see that it took something as dreadful as the COVID-19 pandemic to open our eyes and appreciate the efforts of these unsung heroes put in every day of their lives. 15. There are a ton of truly wireless earbuds available out there in the market. We've reviewed a lot of them here at MensXP, including both the budget as well as expensive ones. But I recently stumbled upon something that caught my attention. I am talking about the HiFuture TidyBuds Pro wireless earbuds. Yes, it looks like any other pair of truly wireless earbuds, but this one has a nifty feature up its sleeves. The charging case which is used to charge the buds can be used as a power bank to charge your phone as well. Isn't that cool? While most truly wireless earbuds struggle to keep the buds charged at all times, these earbuds' charging case can charge other devices as well. Now that's very interesting so I decided to check it out and see if they're worth the price. Here's my full review of the HiFuture Tidybuds Pro - Design & Build Quality © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer In its flesh, the TidyBuds Pro looks just like any other pair of truly wireless earbuds in the market. The earbuds are fairly small and lightweight. They're not too heavy so I'd say they're very comfortable to wear as well. Both the buds have a touch surface with which you can interact with the buds and do things like play or pause music, skip track, and more. The earbuds are made out of plastic and honestly, they don't feel super-premium. But I like how they fit my ears well. They feel secure in place and won't budge even if I am, say, running or doing some sort of exercise. You get extra ear tips inside the box, so you can choose the one that fits your ear size. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer As for the charging case, there's no denying that it's massive. That's probably my only complaint because you can't put it into your pockets. It has to go inside a bag. But I like how they've used a rubberized material for the construction. It gives it a good grip to hold and makes it look fairly premium too. The highlight feature of the charging case, however, is the fact that it comes with a 3,000 mAh battery inside. That's not normal for a pair of truly wireless earbuds. I also like the fact that the charging case uses a USB Type C port to charge. The same cable can be used to reverse charge other devices with a USB Type C port or you can always use other cables to charge them. This came in really handy to me while I was testing these out while reviewing the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite. Audio Quality © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer Yes, the reverse charging feature is cool and all, but ultimately these are a pair of truly wireless earbuds. So how's the audio quality? Well, to my surprise, they're pretty good. The TidyBuds Pro comes with a dynamic 6mm graphene driver and it outputs decent bass and high-mids. The audio quality is also very clear with crisp details. I am happy to report that the vocals are crisp and continue to remain that way even at peak volumes. So regardless of what you like to listen to, be it RnB, pop music or hard rock, the TidyBuds Pro will deliver a very good experience. In comparison, I'd say the TidyBuds Pro sounds louder than my AirPods (1st gen), but the sound does leak out so you might want to keep the volume low if you don't want others hearing what you're listening to. Battery Life © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer The battery life, as I mentioned, is one of the highlights of these earbuds. The buds themselves have a 75mAh battery inside with which they promise to deliver an 8-hour battery life. I'd say you'd get about 6 hours max on a single charge, which is still not that bad by any means. And you know what? That's nothing to worry about because you literally have a 3,000 mAh battery waiting to charge the buds. The charging case has two ports out of which one can be used to charge the case itself whereas the other can be used to charge other devices and take advantage of that reverse charging feature. The company claims that the charging case can give you up to 100 hours of listening time, which is absolutely insane. © MensXP/ Karthik Iyer Well, I'd be lying if I said I managed to kill the battery inside the charging case, like, ever. I only use earbuds to listen to music when I am commuting to work, and that's barely like an hour every day. So I'd say I was able to use the buds without charging the case for more than two weeks, which is just awesome! As I mentioned, you can also use it to charge other devices like smartphones and accessories. But I'd say it's best if you use it to charge some other device instead of a smartphone because the output is very low and it would take forever to charge it. But it's nice to have it as a backup in case you need it. The Final Say The HiFuture TidyBuds Pro is available to purchase for Rs. 4,499 on Amazon. For that price, you're getting a good sounding pair of earbuds with exceptional battery life. Honestly, those are the only two things to look for primarily when it comes to buying a good pair of truly wireless earbuds. Yes, there are some trade offs like the massive size of the charging case and okay-ish build quality. But those are not deal-breakers in my opinion and I really enjoyed using this product. In case you're looking for other options then we suggest you check out the 1More Stylish TWS or even the Realme Buds Air, which are both around the same price range as this one. However, none of them have an impressive 3,000 mAh, so take your pick. View the full article
  16. Back from the ancient civilisation of Mohenjodaro to the nationâs broad-sweeping civil enterprises in the post-Independence era, India has been home to engineers of incredible tenacity and ambition. Along with making our lives more modernised than ever before, theyâve also resulted in grand opportunities for employment and connections between cities and states. An excellent future example can be found in recent plans to construct a 20-kilometer long, four-lane bridge between Assam and Meghalaya - a behemoth Rs. 4,997 crore project that sweeps over the vast Brahmaputra river, and promises to become the longest bridge in the subcontinent by 2027. Here are some marvels that have already made Indiaâs civil engineers and the rest of the populace proud alike, over the last few decades. 1. Pamban Bridge © Government of Tamil Nadu A stunning railway bridge that floats between Tamil Naduâs mainland and the southward island of Rameswaram, this 100+ year-old marvel has been recently restored in 2019 and has perhaps one of the most stunning, immersive views you can experience while travelling by the Indian Railways. While it isnât the longest at around 2 kilometres, cyclone threats and the worldâs second-most corrosive coastal environment made this bridge a serious challenge for engineers. It even features a picturesque âBasculeâ style lifting section, which allows ships to pass through. 2. P.V. Narasimha Rao Expressway © YouTube Opened to the public in 2009 after a long 4-year construction process, the âPVNR Expresswayâ was named after âIndiaâs Father of Economic Reformsâ and perhaps rightly so - the Rs 500 crore project forms a major lifeline for Hyderabadâs economic centres as the longest flyover ever constructed in the country. 3. Pir Panjal Tunnel © Wikimedia Railway tunnels are perhaps one of the most fun parts of train travel through Indiaâs several mountainous regions, and this massive-scale infrastructure project happens to be the longest one in the country at just over 11 kilometres. Taking a lengthy 9-and-a-half minutes to cross, it was the first time India had ever used the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) to construct a railway tunnel - using the Pir Panjal mountain rangeâs unique geological structures to keep the tunnel stable and structurally sound. 4. Chenab Bridge © Wikimedia Currently under construction, the Chenab bridge is located in the Resai district of Jammu. Spanning the width of the Chenab river, this bridge is supported at around 1,178 ft above the riverbed, making it the worldâs highest rail bridge. Itâs an incredible engineering feat considering not just the height and logistical challenges involved, but the rugged terrain and tough geological conditions of the Himalayan ranges it intends to connect. 5. Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project © Wikimedia The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) is the largest of its kind in the world and one of Asiaâs greatest-ever infrastructure investments, costing a whopping Rs. 1.2 lakh crore to complete. After the state of Telangana experienced serious water woes in the the mid-2010s, the project was initiated in 2016 and completed in 2019 - allowing the Godavari river to extend into a near-2,000 kilometre chain of water supply thatâs helped thousands of farmers and replenished groundwater supplies in villages across the state. 6. Project Himank Roads © Conde Nast Traveller You may have thought that the famed Khardung La Pass in Ladakh is the worldâs highest road, but this lofty title was recently snatched away in 2017 by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Project Himank road, which runs through Umlingla Top at a dizzying 19,300 feet - thatâs over half the height of Mt. Everest! The road also has its fair share of amusing caution signs, that read messages such as âI'm curvaceous, but please take me slowly,â and âLet your insurance policy mature before you.â View the full article

Today, we honour the story and its requirements," said the actor stating his happiness as he is playing the lead role in Kaagaz that is based on the real-life story of Lal Bihari, a farmer who was declared dead on paper. âWhen I joined the movies, I had never imagined that any of these wonderful things were possible for me. I came to the movies with modest expectations, looking for good work. The very fact that the audience welcomed me with so much love is humbling. Kaagaz is my first solo hero project, and there's nothing more fulfilling for an actor than the after-feeling of being part of such a strong story,â added the actor. Interestingly, he is also a part of Kabir Khan's '83 and the makers shared a poster featuring him, today. The actor would be playing PR Man Singh, the manager of India's cricket team in 1983. Singh led the Indian cricket team as its manager both in 1983 and 1987 when the team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup tournament. When Jose Mourinho signed a contract with Tottenham Hotspur, many were convinced that the Portuguse would drown the team even deeper in the points table of the Premier League than where they already were. However, ever since the former Manchester United manager was brought in, the Spurs have surged from their 14th place to an impressive 6th position within his first 10 games with a win percentage of 60. To be fair, protecting their own goal has not been all that great as the Hotspur defense has allowed at least two or more goals in seven of the first 10 games since Mouriho took over the driving seat. No teams should fear our defense right now, not even Norwich (no disrespect). Agree for the most part that it's not completely tactics. Individual performances must be better so hopefully Mourinho can tweak it. It's hard to see though right now. Defense was completely flat. — zman11215 (@spurdawg1) December 5, 2019 It is also true that the former La Liga championship winning coach hasn't got the time to breathe ever since he acquired his new job north of London. Having said that, it feels as if the infamously outspoken Mourinho might be back to make the headlines. Just like during the loss to Southampton when he ripped apart everyone on and off the field except his Lillywhites. It starts with Mourinho calling one of the coaching staff members of Southampton an “idiot” and then goes on to challenging the very existence of VAR. Mourinho also believed that St Mary's ballboys were well trained in delaying the game and wasting valuable time. Admitting to being issued a yellow card for being rude to his opponent's goalkeeping coach the Hotspur coach said: “I think the yellow card is fair because I was rude, but I was rude to an idiot. For some reason I was rude. But I was, and because I was rude I deserve the yellow card. Basically, I had bad words with the guy.” Jose Mourinho on his yellow card after spying on Southampton's tactics: "I think the yellow card is fair because I was rude, but I was rude to an idiot!" The real Jose is back. 𤣠pic.twitter.com/loaliWG1i8 — FutbolBible (@FutbolBible) January 1, 2020 “The second half was not easy,” he said. “They were winning, they were defending basically with 10 players, fighting hard and being aggressive, a good aggressive, with lots of fouls, lots of [times] the match stopped and the ballboys were well coached in the delaying of the game and there was not much play.” Angry at the VAR after losing his star player Harry Kane to a hamstring injury, a potential penalty opportunity missed. “In this moment the referees are not the referees. I think the VAR should change their name because 'video assistant referee', that's not true. It should be VR, video referees, because they are the referees, they are the assistant. It is strange because you see the referees on the pitch and they are not the referees, they are the assistant referees. The other guys in [Stockley Park], they are the ones that make the big decisions in the game.” It is also being rumoured that the “being rude” for which he was booked with a yellow card was because Mourinho went to the Southampton dugout and tried taking a look at their tactics. 20. 2020 is probably going to be the biggest year for blockbuster games, as many awaited titles are going to release for the current generation while we will also see new console launch towards the end of the year. This means many games will launch for both consoles and even work via backwards compatibility. However, just because a new generation of consoles is around the corner, it doesn't mean we won't be getting new games this year. In fact, 2020 is packed with games that may just define the current generation of gaming. 1. Final Fantasy VII Remake © Square Enix Platform(s): PS4 (Timed exclusive) Release date: March 3, 2020 It has been a long time since the fans of the series have been wanting to get a remake of the seminal RPG Final Fantasy 7. The game is being remade with modern graphics, updates mechanics and real-time combat. The game will also be split up as full-game-sized episodes. 2. Doom Eternal © Bethesda Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch Release date: March 20, 2020 The game was delayed for unknown specific reasons but the sequel to the 2016 reboot game is coming in March 2020. Developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, Doom Eternal will bring familiar gameplay, epic battles and new demons to fight in the upcoming sequel. 3. Resident Evil 3 Remake © Capcom Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One Release date: April 3, 2020 Capcom is finally remaking the highly requested Resident Evil 3 where we will encounter the iconic villain Nemesis from the series. If the game is going to be anything like the remake of Resident Evil 2, we can expect this classic to be awesome as well. The game originally released in 1999 and it will be interesting to see Capcom's modern version of the game. 4. Cyberpunk 2077 © CD Projekt Red Platform(s): PC, PS4, Xbox One Release date: April 16, 2020 We've already seen what the game looks like and the game is being made by none other than renowned developers CD Projekt Red. It is based in a futuristic city where you get to play as your custom character and explore the dense city from a first-person perspective. The game features high-tech weapons, a day and night cycle, and our favourite Keanu Reeves as a character. 5. The Last of Us Part 2 © Naughty Dog Platform(s): PS4 Release date: May 29, 2020 The first part is unequivocally considered as one of the games of this decade and the sequel of this franchise has been awaited ever since the original released for the PlayStation 3. From what we have seen, survival in the post-apocalyptic world is still the main themes of the game but the franchise shines in telling stories that are emotionally impactful. We can't wait to see what the game hold for us when it eventually launches in May this year. 6. Halo Infinite © 343 Industries Platform(s): PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X Release date: Holiday 2020 While the Halo franchise has been away from almost four years, Halo Infinite is going to be the next game in the franchise. It isn't really a direct sequel to Halo 5 but the game is expected to have MMO gameplay mechanics and more of a sandbox theme. The game is not exactly a linear story like previous installments which makes this game a bit more exciting than expected. 7. Watch Dogs: Legion Platform(s): Xbox One, PS4, PC, Release date: TBC 2020 © Ubisoft The game was revealed last year where it is set in the post-Brexit city of London. The game has been delayed due to a change in Ubisoft's strategy for future games, but we will see it launch sometime in 2020. The game comes with a unique mechanic where you can play as any NPC in the game. You can play as a teenager, or even as a grandmother. The possibilities are unlimited and each NPC comes with unique abilities you can use to your advantage. View the full article
  21. If you've never heard of the French acoustic engineering company called Devialet, then you're either not into sophisticated audio equipment or you're not the kind who'd spend freaking Rs 1.3 lakh on a speaker. Either way, I won't blame you, but I'd like to introduce a fantastic piece of technology today. Meet, the 'Phantom Reactor 900' by Devialet. A tiny speaker that literally packs a surprising amount of punch. It's one of those speakers that'll make you appreciate the music that you're listening to. The folks over at Devialet let me borrow a Phantom Reactor for a couple of weeks and here's what I think about it - © MensXP Tiny Alien Egg From The Future! As you can see, the Devialet Phantom Reactor looks like a tiny alien egg. Not going to lie, I've never seen a speaker so pretty that I don't even feel like tossing it off aside unlike most other speakers that I have. It's something that you'd want to keep at the forefront like a showpiece. I got the Matte Black colour variant of the speaker to use, but it also comes in an "Iconic White" colour, which has a glossy surface. I would, any day, prefer the white variant over this one, but that's just me. © MensXP Although the overall footprint of the speaker is small, it's surprisingly heavy. It's over 4kgs, which is why I'd say it's not exactly portable. I mean, you can unplug it and carry it around in your house or to your backyard, but it's not ideal to be carried outside. It doesn't have a battery too, which means it'll always be hugging a power outlet. Overall, I'd say it's one of the most beautiful looking speakers out there. If you have a minimal setup at your home, then the Phantom Reactor would blend in seamless without sticking out like a sore thumb. The iconic egg-shaped design of its big brother, Phantom, adds a lot of personality to it. It looks straight out of a sci-fi movie, to be honest. © MensXP Impressive Sound The Phantom Reactor looks cool and all, but what about the sound quality? Well, it's fantastic. In fact, it's loud and exquisite, to be precise. Yes, that's how I'd put it. I was blown away by the output coming out such a small package. I mean, who'd have thought a small speaker like this would piss off my neighbours? It's one thing to listen to music, but it's a completely different experience to feel it. The Phantom Reactor will make you feel the music. Be it underground music, a mainstream EDM rave track or a pop title, the speaker sounds phenomenal. The bass response is the first thing that stands out. It's also a lot of fun to look at the bass drivers wobble. Here, take a look - via GIPHY The bass is super smooth and it leaves a kind of impact that no other speakers have been able to match, at least for me. Playing titles like Ricko James' "A Samurai's Death" or "Moon Face" that sends waves across the drivers is truly a sight to behold. What's interesting about the speaker is that there's no vibration on the speaker's body or its surroundings. You won't feel a thing if you touch the speakers, which is quite impressive. Besides the bass, there's another driver that handles the mids and the highs. The output for that comes from the grille on the front and it's said to output sound in a three-dimensional form. See that fancy grille on the front? Yes, that's it. I don't think it handled the whole 360-degree output very well, but if you place it appropriately in the room, then it'll fill very easily. It's all about the placement. © MensXP You can also choose to pair two of them and have a stereo effect. But that'll, of course, cost you a lot of money. But hey, good audio is expensive. There aren't a lot of speakers out there that'll make you feel like you're in a concert hall. It has a 900W peak power, after all. Connectivity The Phantom Reactor comes with an app that can be used to connect and lay music. You can use it as a Bluetooth speaker or sync it to a local network and play it via AirPlay, Spotify Connect or UPnP. There's a 3.5mm jack for input too in case you want to use that. The Phantom Reactor has touch-sensitive controls on the top and you'll be prompted to use these while setting up. You can also just tap the Bluetooth button to pair on the go, and that's the easiest way to connect to the speaker and play music. The Devialet app also works well, but for some reason, it asked me to set up the speaker every time I closed and opened the app again. © MensXP The setup process, mind you, takes quite a bit of time, so it's quite annoying to see it happen all the time. The companion app definitely needs some work, but otherwise, I really like the UI and the way it lets you control everything. The Final Say So, is the Phantom Reactor worth buying? Well, in case you don't know, the Phantom Reactor costs Rs 1,29,000 in India. Yes, that's Rs 1.3 lakh, which makes it one of the most expensive speakers that you can buy in the country. Assuming that you're willing to splurge that much on a speaker, I'd say you won't regret it. © MensXP Powerful and punchy bass is Phantom Reactor's forte and it'll truly make you feel like you're in a concert hall if you turn the volume all the way. It'll truly change house parties for you, and you'll never want to go back to normal speakers again. The Phantom Reactor looks fantastic and sounds incredibly good. Save for a couple of minor issues with the app, I'd say it's a damn good speaker. Buy it, if you want to feel and experience the song instead of just listening to it. View the full article

These wildfires also made a lot of people evacuate their houses and caused a lot of destruction to the wildlife and eventually, death of animals. The rescuer is seen loosening the baby bear's grip but the bear runs back to him. The video is heartwarming and shows how the wildfires have disturbed the wildlife. The volunteers are also lauded by the netizens on the internet for their kindness and for making heroic efforts. View the full article
  23. “Hum aapki khubsoorti ka raaz hai, aapke sarr ka permanent taj hai,” - yes, the narrator is talking about your hair and the very quirky voiceover by Vijay Raaz, in the beginning, sets the whole mood for Bala, and you are assured that what you have signed up for is not some half-baked dish. Amar Kaushik's new movie, which highlights the ordeal of a prematurely-balding young man, asserts on how our society is obsessed with one's appearance and almost neglects everything else, irrespective of how one is from the inside. Interestingly, the movie kills two birds with one stone as it's not only talking about the woes of a man who has lost his hair at the age of 25 but also targets the unhealthy obsession with fair skin, particularly for women. From attacking age-old, bizarre 'solutions' that help you make your hair grow back (like applying cow dung on your head!) to how fairness creams are being sold by luring darker-skinned people, the movie touches all aspects of our society's obsession with 'looking beautiful', without paying heed to the cost it comes at. © Maddock Films Ayushmann Khurrana, who we know by now has a knack of picking out-of-the-box scripts, shines bright once again in Bala. He is the perfect fit for a script like this, as his character is convincing and relatable. A man consumed by self-loathing and his continuous hair-loss makes him even more miserable and he desperately looks for a permanent solution to get back the perfect hair that he had in his childhood. How would you react if you were the hottest person in the school because of your hair and cut to the present, you are struggling to keep a lush mane on your head. It's pretty common knowledge that men are obsessed with their hair and premature balding is a subject which was neglected earlier but now, the movie is trying to create a healthy discussion around this matter © Maddock Films Khurrana adds a certain vulnerability to the character and makes a point to convey the message with some well-written dialogues in the movie. In the movie, Bala falls in love with a TikTok sensation Pari (Yami Gautam) who is only obsessed with looking good all the time (in a way, the movie also attacks the whole social media culture). Following a failed attempt to tell Pari the truth about his wig, the two get married and when Pari discovers the truth, her reaction is just epic. Truly, Yami has done a brilliant job and you will end up feeling mighty impressed by her work. © Maddock Films As I mentioned earlier, the movie has also dealt with how our society tends to look down upon darker-skinned women. In the movie, it's through Bhumi Pednekar's character, Latika that the director touches upon this much-talked-about, but often neglected issue in our society. Bhumi doesn't believe in outer beauty but focuses on the idea of accepting the real you. But somewhere, I feel the movie had more potential in terms of showing the predicaments faced by the dark-skinned people in our country. Well, I cannot really complain here since the movie is about premature balding and still, they have tried to incorporate this issue. The movie boldly attacks the idea of using fairness creams that promote the concept of fairness being equivalent to being beautiful. © Maddock Films All the three leads have given their messages loud and clear but it's always the supporting cast that helps the lead actors shine. In Bala, we have an ensemble cast that includes Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Banerjee, Seema Pahwa, and Javed Jaffrey. They help in bringing the extra laughs and have given justice to their roles and somewhere, without them, the movie wouldn't have been this interesting. © Maddock Films Now, moving to technicalities, the movie's music and score blends perfectly well and glides smoothly with the narrative of the movie. It has been shot pretty well and there are no such bumpy rides in the film. To sum it up, Bala is a light-hearted comedy that hits the bullseye with the message being loud and clear, which is to accept the real you and overcome the fear of body shaming. Takla, Nata, Mota, Patla, Gora, Kala are just tags and they don't define the real you. Bala is a must-watch indeed and I strongly recommend you to check it out at the earliest. View the full article
