  1. Weekend - that is honestly our only survival strategy from one week to another as we slog our way through hours of stubbing at the keyboard at work. Fridays come bearing a new lease of life post 3 pm when we can almost taste the weekend settling into the fine lines of our lips. The next 32 hours are buzzing with activity and all things LIT that we had been “eagerly looking forward” to the entire week. However, as soon as Saturday night makes its arrival felt, the Sunday dread begins to claw into us at the subconscious level. And once we are greeted by Sunday, there is no looking back. The reality of facing another week of same old drudgery can be pretty jarring, but that need not be your continual reality for the next 25-30 years at all. Try these 7 quick, easy and really effective things to do on a Sunday that can ensure that your week ahead goes real smooth and easy to the max. 1. Detox Your Desktop (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images Declutter your work desktop and prep it for the upcoming week by deleting the junk and placing the others into classified folders. Free up that space and increase your efficiency at work. 2. Start A New Series (c) HBO Sunday binging didn't become a craze for nothing. People swear by it because it works. It gives you something that you can look forward to without expending a lot of your energy. 3. Plan Your Outfits (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images This may sound silly on paper, but try giving this a chance and you will witness your life take a 360 degree turn. Pick up those outfit pairing, iron them and keep them ready. No last minute rushing ever again! 4. Have A Family Night (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images Goes without saying. The rest of the work week passes us in a blur, and most often than not we never get a chance to just sit down and spend quality time with our family. Doing something together or not doing anything, it doesn't matter. As long as you have their company it'll be relaxing. 5. Set Priorities (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images While plans work only 90 percent of the time, it is still advisable to have an idea of the things that need to be on priority, both at work as well as your personal life. It makes life a lot less chaotic, and prevents you from making goof ups like forgetting to get a birthday gift for your sister's baby girl. 6. Set Up A Task List (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images A to-do list is a must in today's time and age of multitasking. While we constantly juggle between our assignments, meetings, targets on one hand and numerous other responsibilities otherwise, a task list always comes handy. It allows your brain to take a break because you have it all written down in one place. 7. Recharge (c) Thinkstock-Getty Images That means sleeping in or retiring to bed early on Sundays. It helps set the body clock back after the previous two crazy nights. Also, it allows the brain and body to get enough rest, and refuel for the upcoming week, which is something we all need.
  2. The Lotus Makeup India Fashion Week just got over, and there was a lot going on beyond the runway. We were there for all of it, especially the uber cool street style. While it had a lot of elements, what impressed us most was the edgy, innovative examples of layering. Here are 11 cool layering hacks for you, inspired by that. 1. Get a knee length jacket. Wear it with co-ords for a snazzy yet sophisticated street outfit. © Studiopicsing 2. Throw a bomber jacket on top of a longline shirt. © Studiopicsing 3. Any statement piece of outerwear when paired with a button-down shirt and relaxed trousers spells ramp-ready. © Studiopicsing 4. Asymmetric, bizarre silhouettes are in and if you're confident enough to carry it off, nothing will come in your way. © Studiopicsing 5. Round neck T-shirt + pleated pants topped with a statement jacket will make you look like a million bucks. © Studiopicsing 6. Every man needs a black turtleneck to amp up his layering game. © Studiopicsing 7. A subtle bomber with a relaxed pair of linen pants will make you look fly AF - just like Khanijo here. © Studiopicsing 8. While wearing a fur-lined piece with a big collar, keep the rest muted and simple. © Studiopicsing 9. Layering with different all-black textures can be super fun, and it never goes wrong. © Studiopicsing 10. Have you tried this 'over the shoulder' way of wearing a jacket? © Studiopicsing 11. Bold jackets, relaxed pants, statement sneakers, cool bags - the street will be yours. © Studiopicsing
  3. Earlier this week, Facebook and Instagram were out of commission for several hours. Facebook said the outage was a result of a server configuration change, which has now been taken care of. But for those several hours, most of the internet freaked out staring at their blank screens. A lot of people, who genuinely wanted to communicate with others, switched to alternate services like Telegram. But the rest of the people, who didn't really have any alternate medium to waste their time, headed to, wait for it, Pornhub. © Pornhub Yes, that's right. Pornhub seems to have received a lot of traffic during the Facebook and Instagram outage. The porn site reported that its traffic immediately spiked by 11 per cent and kept increasing until it hit 19-percent above the average. Additionally, Pornhub also noted that the users specifically searched for 'Instagram' and 'Facebook'. Apparently, the website registered a 323-percent spike in searches for 'Instagram' and a 221-per cent spike in searches for 'Facebook'. Looks like social media addiction is a real thing. © Twitter On a totally unrelated note (or maybe not), people were also searching for terms like 'tentacle porn' among other terms like WWE, Marvel, and Fortnite. Why would there be a spike in search for these terms when Facebook and Instagram went down? Well, that's not on us to figure out.
  4. Inspired by their travels in Kashmir, HUEMN's Shyma Shetty and Pranav Misra's collection is a homage to the raw energy of the youth of Kashmir. © Studio picsing In collaboration with Reebok Classic 'Alter the Icons', this collection draws inspiration from the iconic sneaker culture of the nineties. © Studio picsing © Studio picsing © Studio picsing The interesting details were fairly androgynous in nature which were in tandem with the whole idea of the collection. With a colour-play of brights and fluent patterns, the collection attempted to capture the abstract nature of the human mind on a silhouette. © Studio picsing © Studio picsing © Studio picsing © Studio picsing © Studio picsing © Studio picsing The collection was presented with Shyma Shetty and Pranav Misra's voice-over in the background asking the important existential questions: “Why are we here? What are we going to do? What are we here for?” to end the show on an important note.
  5. Well, it looks like we are going back to the good old days when 'The Game' Triple H and 'The Animal' Batista used to bring up jam-packed WWE Arenas to their feet with brilliant storytelling and botch-less in-ring performances. As a part of 'Evolution' - a four-men superteam involving the best talents across different eras of the WWE like the 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair, Triple H, Batista and 'The Viper' Randy Orton - the four stars used to derive huge reactions from the WWE Universe on a weekly basis. Even after the team broke off, every member went on to save 'Hall of Fame' worthy careers. After a decade, Evolution was expected to reunite last week on RAW to celebrate Flair's 70th birthday. While Triple H, along with the entire WWE roster were present around the stage with a huge birthday cake inside the ring, the Jumbotron turned on and it was Batista assaulting Flair. “Hey, Hunter… Do I have your attention now?” barked Batista as he dragged the 70-year-old on the floor. According to several reports, Batista was scheduled to make an appearance on last night's episode of RAW but did not just because of the fact that he did not like Philadelphia. After Batista's video played on the jumbotron, Triple H cut a solo promo addressing what went down last week. After a small recap of how deep his friendship with Ric Flair was and how unhappy he was, not being able to celebrate the birthday that Ric Flair more than deserved, Hunter went on a killer rampage on how Dave Bautista had cried online for more than two years. Triple H spoke about how Batista quit on the WWE and the WWE Universe when he was unable to get a reaction out of the wrestling fans and how frustrating it was for him to see his wrestling career fall apart in front of his eyes. Offering Batista an open challenge, a very angry Triple H yelled: “Stand up to me, tell me what you want and I will give you everything that you want. You want my attention? Dave, you've got it,” before storming out of the ring. It is evident where all of this is headed. With less than a month left for the 35th anniversary of Wrestlemania, an epic matchup between two of the best talents of the business is shaping up. Probably a 'No Holds Barred', probably a 'Backstage Brawl', whatever it turns out to be, we are in for a wrestling treat!
  6. Spotify was launched in India barely six days ago and the music streaming app has already managed to make a small dent in the Indian music streaming space. Even though Spotify is in the middle of a legal battle with Warner Music, the company still managed to get a million users in less than a week. A representative from Spotify confirmed with The Verge about the streaming service's rapid success. © Spotify Spotify offers free music stream with ads and also offers a premium membership which is priced at Rs 129, its Rs 389 for 3 months, Rs 719 for 6 months and Rs 1189 for a year. The premium membership removes advertisements and enables users to skip songs without any limits. Even though Spotify has some missing content due to a legal battle, the streaming company is focusing on adding regional content which includes music from Bollywood. Other regional music includes content in languages such as Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. © Reuters According to research firms Deloitte and IMI, India has about 150 million subscribers for music streaming services and is only set to grow in the near future. Many streaming services are bundled with mobile plans such as Airtel's Wink, Free Amazon Prime memberships and others. Spotify's entry into India has been late and will face tough competition from other services such as Apple Music, Google Pay, Gaana, JioSaavn and Amazon Prime. In order to undercut the competition, Spotify offers a free plan which lets everyone stream for free. However, the free plan limits carry advertisements just like how you would find it on YouTube. © Reuters Spotify is currently available on iOS and Android platforms, Windows 10 PCs, Android TV, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, and macOS. Spotify also works with Google Home and Sonos natively, which is an added bonus for smart speaker owners. If you have Android Car or Apple CarPlay installed in your automobiles, Spotify also works natively on both auto platforms. At this time, Spotify will be available as apps for your smartphone and tablet (free download for Android and iOS), Windows 10 PCs, macOS computing devices, Android TV, Sony PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox and also available via the web browser. Spotify is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in-car infotainment platforms. Source: The Verge
  7. The WWE Universe was in absolute shock when in October last year, the one-time Universal Champion, Roman Reigns let the world know how he had Leukemia and had been fighting blood cancer for 11 years behind-the-scenes. On a later October episode of Monday night Raw, the Samoan wrestler let the audience know that in order to battle the disease more intimately, he had to go away from the WWE for some time and had to give up his title in the process. Breaking his character for maybe the very first time, Reigns had said: “My real name is Joe and I have been living with Leukemia for 11 years.” People were crying and hurting but were united in support of the 'Big Dog'. Thank you to everyone who's reached out...I can't put into words what it means to me. Your energy and positivity motivate me to get better quickly to get back in the ring, but for now I'm going to spend time with my family and focus on health. Thank you - Joe/Roman — Roman Reigns (@WWERomanReigns) October 23, 2018 But, Reigns didn't forget to mention that he is in no way retiring from WWE and once he was done “whooping Leukemia's ass,” he was going to be back on Raw, healthy as ever, to take what was rightfully his, the WWE Universal Championship. Now, exactly four months since Reigns let the world in on his painful secret, WWE.com made an official statement saying that Reigns is set to make a comeback to the franchise show, albeit for one night, to address the update on his battle versus the cancer. WWE CEO, Vince McMahon too, took to Twitter with an update: .@WWERomanReigns (aka Joe Anoa'i) will address the status of his fight with leukemia this Monday on Raw. #fighter #proud #classy pic.twitter.com/kgXD8SHwVc — Vince McMahon (@VinceMcMahon) February 21, 2019 Well, it looks like Reigns kept his word after all. Four months ago, 'The Guy' had said that he would soon be back to the ring, to 'his yard', as he so proudly claims it to be and Roman is finally going to be home. A couple of weeks ago, former WWE wrestler and Hollywood star, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had expressed his love for Reigns, his cousin, over his tireless war against Leukemia and how it had evolved Reigns' “state of mind”. Very proud of him. His leukemia recovery has elevated his state of mind to a whole other level. And it was fuuuun to go legit beast mode with my cousin in our movie where he plays my brother. #LetTheBodiesHitTheFloor #HobbsAndShaw AUG 2nd. https://t.co/bqpLFQC1Z1 — Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) January 28, 2019 In the process of defeating the disease, Reigns believes that his return to the WWE would not just be about wrestling and winning titles but will come with a purpose: “I am coming back because I want to show all of you, the whole world… that when life throws a curveball at me… I will always swing for the fences.” Reigns' fans finally took a breath of fresh air and reacted in joy over the internet: Hell yes the Big Dog returns. I hope his battle with leukemia is either over or almost there. 8. If there is something sweeter than scoring an extra time winner, it has to be reunions and rivalries. The better part of rivalries turns into controversies whereas reunions are celebrated and cherished. Since exceptions are always there, Luis Figo's hostile welcome at Camp Nou and the boos Angel Di Maria received at Old Trafford, are some of the few examples of the fact that reunions are not always a bed of roses. If you're still not over the 'Pogbrilliance' from last night, here are some thrilling reunions and rivalries to look forward to this week. 1. Tuesday - Liverpool vs Bayern Munich © Bavarian Football Works It cannot get bigger and better than this. Two European giants with 10 Champions League titles between them. Liverpool vs Bayern Munich at Anfield promises to be one of the games of the season. This match will see the reunion between a master and two of his apprentices - Jurgen Klopp and Mats Hummels and Robert Lewandowski. The German coach was responsible for bringing Lewandowski to Bundesliga and Mats Hummels to Borussia Dortmund. After the initial struggle, Klopp turned the Polish hitman into a phenom. He has now scored 193 Bundesliga goals and is just 2 behind the former Bayern Player Claudio Pizarro in terms of 'Most Goals Scored By A Non-German Player.' The former Mainz manager also transformed Hummels into one of the best defenders in the world, forcing Bayern Munich to buy him back from Dortmund. Lewandowski has come back to hurt Klopp on many occasions during latter's time at Die Borussen. It'll be amazing to see Klopp deal with the monsters he created. This match will also see Bayern come face to face with one of their treble winners in Xherdan Shaqiri, who has had an impressive start to the career at Anfield. 2. Wednesday - Atletico Madrid vs Juventus © therahnuma Atletico Madrid versus Juventus will see Cristiano Ronaldo meet his old foes. Currently the second best player in the world, Cristiano will meet Atletico for the first time since his move to Turin. It'll definitely prove to be a 'Clash Of The Titans' when the likes of Ronaldo, Dybala and Douglas Costa will take on Griezmann, Diego Costa and Thomas Lemar. For four years in a row, Ronaldo's Real Madrid ended Atletico's dreams of winning a UEFA Champions League title. Twice, those defeats came in the final of the competition in heartbreaking fashion. Just thinking about the reception he'll receive at Wanda Metropolitano sends chills down our spine. This match will also see Mario Mandzukic come up against his former employers. The Croatian who spent a season in the Spanish capital left after falling out with coach Diego Simeone. In other fixture, Manchester City will see golden boy, Leroy Sane, come up against his boyhood club, FC Schalke 04. Making it a night charged with emotions. 3. Thursday - Arsenal vs BATE Borisov © BBC Thursday will see Arsenal face BATE Borisov in the second leg of UEFA Europa League. To everybody's surprise, the Belarusian club came out on top in the first leg and will have a lead to defend during travel to North-London. What makes this match special is the return of former Arsenal player Alexander Hleb. His name might be the one that comes to mind when you think of the 2006 North-London outfit which came so close to winning the first Champions League trophy in club's history. But it was in Arsenal where the Belarusian played the best football of his career that eventually earned him a £12 million move to Pep Guardiola's Barcelona in the summer of 2008. It'll mark the return of a cult hero. 4. Saturday - Sevilla vs Barcelona © Inquirer In the race to La Liga title, Barcelona will face Sevilla in a tricky away fixture. Tricky because the last time Barca played Sevilla at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, the home side ran out 2-0 winners in Copa Del Rey, only to be hammered away 6-1 by the Catalan club a week later. Though Barca leads Sevilla by 17 points in the points table, any slip-ups here will allow direct rivals Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid to cut short the lead and pile the pressure on Barcelona. 5. Sunday - Manchester United vs Liverpool © BBC Super Sunday! The final day of this exhausting week full of football will see four of the top six Premier League sides in action. Firstly, it'll be the North-West Derby. With Liverpool coming to Old Trafford and aiming to go on top of the Premier League table, Manchester United will do whatever they can in order to not let that happen. This derby can prove to be the biggest of them all in recent years, with United having a say in Liverpool's title bid. Any result of helping the neighbours Manchester City will be favoured by United faithful in order to disrupt Scousers' title dream. 6. Sunday - Manchester City vs Chelsea © Ronaldo Secondly, after 6-0 drubbing last week, Chelsea will face Manchester City in the English League Cup final at Wembley. After a dismal run of form, Chelsea has slipped to fifth in the Premier League Table. A win here will prove to be a morale booster for London club in an otherwise shambolic season. Manchester City is definite favourites for the final and this could prove to be the first step towards the unprecedented quadruple. Other Fixtures: . Lyon vs Barcelona . Chelsea vs Malmo
  9. It's just been a week since Respawn Entertainment launched 'Apex Legends' and the game has found success in just a matter of days. It's a free-to-play Battle Royale game that is giving games like PUBG and Fortnite a run for its money. Respawn has now revealed that the game has hit 25 million total players and had "well over" 2 million concurrent players during the weekend. © YouTube To put things into perspective, 'Fortnite' took four months to achieve these numbers after its launch. At the moment, 'Fortnite' has over 200 million players and 8.3 million concurrent players which is a huge number for any game. This is partly because of the game can also be played on iOS and Android devices. © YouTube The studio is now using this achievement as an opportunity to promote the game's roadmap including new goodies for players for Valentine's Day. The company is also going to launch a paid Battle Pass next month that will work similarly to Fortnite's subscription programme. © Respawn Entertainment 'Apex Legends' builds on the Titanfall series and lore; which has been generally well-received amongst players. It uses the same combat mechanics with Battle Royale essentials such as looting gear, weapons and ammo. However, the game sets itself apart from other games, thanks to different characters that have different abilities. The game's marketing has also helped the game gain success due to its surprise launch and support from streamers like Shroud and Dr DisRespect. The game also does not implement any play-to-win micro transactions which make the game accessible to everyone for free. Have you been playing 'Apex Legends'? Follow our tips and tricks for getting your first win in the game.
  10. We've been talking about a foldable smartphone by Samsung for years and it seems like the company will finally reveal the smartphone. We will finally get a glimpse at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event on February 20 as the company teased the smartphone via a tweet. The South Korean company tweeted with the caption “The future of mobile will unfold,” which basically confirms that it would at least give consumers a glimpse into the foldable smartphone which is said to open and close like a book. The future of mobile will unfold on February 20, 2019. #SamsungEvent pic.twitter.com/MHvwrt7Rf4 — Samsung Mobile (@SamsungMobile) February 11, 2019 We've already seen the prototype of the phone back in November when Samsung showed off the foldable phone encased in a bulky cover. Justin Denison, Samsung Electronics America SVP and GM, indicated that the phone was hidden in the case so that the true design could be revealed at its official launch which looks like it will be happening in eight days. © Twitter Denison also detailed that the smartphone could not only expand to seven inches but also run three apps at the same time. It is said to have a very sleek appearance with a screen that “had to be thinner than any other.” © Twitter/CNet Samsung Vietnam may have actually revealed the design of the phone earlier this month in a teaser video that is now deleted. Samsung is not the only phone maker that has been working on a foldable smartphone as Rouyu and LG both plan to launch their foldable device later this year.
  11. Lakmé Fashion Week, after a sparkling opening day with designer Gaurav Gupta's show, "(Un)fold" has been an eye-opener. From mesmerizing designs to breathtaking silhouettes, the week has definitely been a head-turner so far. The show saw Anita Dongre yesterday and will end with a finale by Shantanu and Nikhil. The best about any Fashion Week isn't just the runway but also the street style that we get to witness. People go wild with outfits and come up with the best of ways to create something that we normally don't get to see off the runway. But apart from the clothes, the most interesting thing we noticed this time was the varied hairstyles that people exhibited. So, here is a collection of hairstyles that we really liked from the Fashion Week: 1. The Long Hued Mane © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik The best part about this hairstyle is that the colour gives out a laidback hipster vibe. 2.Combed Back Mane © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik However, if you don't want to go for something shaded, try going au naturel. 3. A Classic Quiff © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik If you want to keep it short and classic, go for a quiff. That's always a low maintenance style. 4. A Beautiful Chaos © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik Take a cue from this man and if you're bold enough to make the move. Grow your hair in an afro style. 5. A Buzz Cut © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik This hairstyle works great for the Summer and beats the heat like a breeze. 6. The Classic Salt & Pepper © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik Embrace the white strands because there are endless ways you could style them as. Exhibit A. 7. The Shoulder-Length Cut © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik Not only does this look sleek but also super enigmatic because there are not many who can pull this off. 8. The Curled-Up Mane © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik You can grow your curly crop too. You just need the right styling tools to maintain it. 9. The Shaded Buzzcut © MensXP/Sowrav Bhowmik Take a cue from Zayn Malik for creating a wild buzz cut that is rad and edgy like this one.
  12. Ranveer Singh and the entire Gully Gang walked the ramp last night at the Lakmé Fashion Week 2019. 13. While you may have seen Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor as the father-son duo in Zoya Akhtar's 'Dil Dhadakne Do', you probably don't know they share a great camaraderie off-screen too. And why shouldn't they? They both love being in hyper-energetic states, love entertaining people and they're like a house on fire, when they get together and do spectacular things. (c)Twitter For instance, at the Lakme Fashion Week 2019, both of them came on stage together and danced their heart out, without any inhibitions. Incidentally, both were chosen to be show stoppers for Raghavendra Rathore's collection at the Fashion Week and they nailed their act perfectly. We also have videos from celebrity photographer-Viral Bhayani, where their mesmerising stage presence and energy is so enigmatic, the audience just couldn't stop cheering the two on. (c)Twitter Ranveer was dressed in a printed red sherwani with sneakers while Anil looked quite classy in a black sherwani. While the two were having fun on stage we can also see Janhvi Kapoor sporting a gorgeous black ethnic wear and making sure she doesn't disturb the onscreen father-son duo! Watch the video here: #ranveersingh and #anilkapoor sure know how to entertain. ðððððð. From the cruise ship to the ramp - this Jodi is ultimate @raghavendra.rathore A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) on Feb 2, 2019 at 10:09pm PST I have visited so many big international fashion labels and their workshops here in Juhu Galli. We also had other celebrities gracing the stage, dressed in their finest, to absolutely take the audience by surprise by showing off their ramp movies. But by the end of it all, Anil and Ranveer were the real show stoppers so far and we really wish and hope we see them pair up again in another fun movie, sometime soon.
  14. The Lakmé Fashion Week 2019 opened with Gaurav Gupta's show titled "(Un)folding" on Tuesday, at the Royal Opera House. With Tabu and Karan Johar as showstoppers, the show really did reach its peak in the end. For a man who broke a million hearts at Stantiago Bernabeu after completing a 100-million-euro move to Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo didn't really enjoy the start many would have expected him to at the Old Lady club. The Portuguese initially struggled to find the back of the net, going goalless in 320 minutes across three games before eventually breaking the drought with a brace against Sassuolo. Since then, Ronaldo has scored seven goals for Juventus in the Serie A. But, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner still wasn't able to break the duck with his new club in the UEFA Champions League. His maiden goal for Juventus in the Champions League finally came on 8th November when his club hosted Manchester United in the Group H clash. WHAT A GOAL FROM CRISTIANO RONALDO ð³ pic.twitter.com/9oypBzYY7u — LewisMcinnes (@TheLewisMcinnes) November 7, 2018 Scoring his 8th goal in 14 matches across all competitions for Juventus, Ronaldo capitalised on a beautiful long-ball from teammate Leonardo Bonucci in the defence. The Portuguese, in the 65th minute, made a perfect forward run into United's 18-yard-box before hitting an inch-perfect volley to put the ball past goalkeeper David de Gea. While the stunning strike brought the Allianz stadium on its feet, it also instigated an animated celebration from Ronaldo himself. The 33-year-old rushed to the left corner before unveiling his chiselled abs in front of the home crowd. While his happiness didn't last long as Juan Mata's strike in the 86th minute and Alex Sandro's own goal in the 90th minute saw United snatching a late 2-1 win, Ronaldo's brilliant volley still was too good for the football fans to ignore. To take that first time over the shoulder is as tough as it gets. 16. There is often a hot debate as to how many times should a person train their arms per week, especially when the goal is to gain maximal size As the saying goes, 'education is important but bigger biceps are more important', here's some crucial information for hitting the guns. So How Often Should You Train Your Arms If You Want Bigger Biceps? © YouTube Let's find out using a couple of studies. First, let's understand how many times do you need to train to see muscle grow at all? An observational study was done on amateur male bodybuilders with a survey that asked them how often they trained a muscle group per week. A whopping 69% of them trained using bro-splits aka '1 muscle group a day' and trained every muscle group just once a week. Whereas, 31% trained their muscle groups two to three times a week. [1] As it was a study done in male physique and for bodybuilding competitors, it shows that even training your arms once a week leads to muscle growth. Now, the question still remains- how many times should one lift for maximum gains? A meta-analysis (a study of studies) was done on this exact topic by Brad Schoenfeld in 2016. Schoenfeld and his colleagues looked at 10 studies and compared studies looking into 1 time per week training frequency vs. studies looking at 2-3x per week training frequencies. Their findings showed that there was plenty of evidence that suggested training more than 1x per week was more beneficial to maximize muscle growth. It showed that training 2-3 times per week resulted in approximately twice the growth in muscle from baseline (3.7% vs. 6.8%). The logical doubt one might have here may be that the groups doing it 2-3x were training more. The beauty of the studies included was that each of the groups, 1x vs. 2-3x per week had the same total workout volume, same exercises, and the same rest periods between sets. © YouTube The only difference being the number of times the muscle group was trained per week. Coming to the conclusion, how many times should you train your arms per week to maximize gains? The current evidence shows that you should at least train your arms directly 2x per week if your goal is to pump up those guns. Another takeaway is that you should be able to do something you can be consistent at. If you work your schedule smartly, you should be able to hit your arms 2x per week very easily. 17. It's always fascinating to watch models walk down the ramp, thriving in all their confidence, sass, and beauty. This is almost always the case, except when the model in question is someone we already love and admire - then, the experience elevates on to a whole new level, and we can't help but marvel at how that known face, has transformed into something otherworldly and ethereal, under those magical lights. This was exactly what we felt when we saw some of our favourite leading ladies of Bollywood walk the ramp last week, at the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week. Take a look: 1. Sushmita Sen © Twitter Sush anyway has that inimitable personality and confidence, that amplifies her beauty manifold. 18. Just like every year, and every season, when Fashion Week rolls around, we are given some style goals, not only by the designers but also by the attendees of the shows. We saw some amazing, creative, and innovative looks when it came to the street style, and these looks are the ones that were making heads turn off stage at the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week (LMIFW). We've decoded our favourite looks to tell you exactly what you need to get the India Fashion Week street style right. So, here are the 7 essentials we loved from the India Fashion week street style over the last few days: 1. White Shirt Redux © Tarun Chawla White tee-shirts and shirts have been around for forever, and they have been an essential part of every guy's wardrobe. But that doesn't mean there is only one way to do it. So give your basic white shirt a makeover, and embrace prints, embellishments, and even DIY upgrades of this closet essential. We recommend this subtle floral print shirt, if you aren't ready for a full redux © Amazon MRP: Rs 1,259 Buy it here 2. Stripes Aren't Going Anywhere © Tarun Chawla Stripes had been done, dusted, and put away in the farthest reaches of our wardrobes for quite a few years, especially for all the men out there. Stripes were that boring print that every guy with some imagination had put away (and for good reason), until this classic trend made a comeback last season. And now, stripes are everywhere, and on everything. From a shirt to pants, to a blazer, stripes will see you through, and in style. We recommend this striped navy blazer © Amazon MRP: Rs 2,413 Buy it here 3. Reinvent The Kurta © Tarun Chawla It is the festive season after all, and it will be incomplete without the perfect kurta to add just enough of a traditional touch to your look. We saw some really amazing desi inspired street style at India Fashion Week, and it is definitely time to get out the nice starched kurtas your mum always loved. We recommend this asymmetrical cotton kurta © Amazon MRP: Rs 699 Buy it here 4. Don't Ditch The Half Sleeves Yet © Tarun Chawla Most guys have probably been told that a half-sleeved shirt is unflattering, and it's simple, easier, and more stylish to just don a full-sleeved shirt. That is perhaps not completely untrue, half sleeved shirts are hard to pull off, most often than not because they don't fit properly, or have no personality. But a well-tailored, or well-fitting half sleeved shirt can actually make for a very good casual style staple. You can also go for interesting prints to amp up the style a bit more. We recommend this printed half sleeve from M&S © Amazon MRP: Rs 1,372 Buy it here 5. Embrace The Bold Prints © Tarun Chawla Prints are really taking over, and in the last few seasons, they have kind of become their own category. And if you can find a good print, one that captures your vibe, don't forget to experiment with it a bit. Embrace bold prints, by pairing them with subtle pieces and accessories to create a fun and vibrant look. We recommend this navy printed shirt to give off the right vibe © Amazon MRP: Rs 1,149 Buy it here 6. Frame It Well © Tarun Chawla Classic sunglasses will always be a fashion favourite, but it's time to step out of the box a little bit when it comes to frames. Don't just pick between a pair of aviators or wayfarers. Fun frames, like ovals, round frames are really in, and they actually do look good on a lot of people. So, break away from that myth, and try on a few different styled sunglasses. If you are still unconvinced, then simply get yourself a pair of tinted sunglasses, and rock a nice casual outfit with the least effort. We recommend these tinted metal frame sunglasses © Amazon MRP: Rs 666 Buy it here 7. Backpacks Aren't The Only Option © Tarun Chawla We all watched that FRIENDS episode where Joey simply would not let go of a 'man bag', and everyone else wanted him to. Thankfully, gendering the most basic accessories is something that we left in the 2000s. So when you want to get a bag, keep in mind that backpacks aren't the only option. Feel free to experiment with different styles, from manila style folder bags to messenger bags, laptop bags, or a khadi over-sized tote. We recommend this tan satchel, for style, and convenience © Amazon MRP: Rs 780 Buy it here 8. Combat Boots Aren't Only For Punk Kids © Tarun Chawla Summer is behind us now (almost) so it means we can finally wear things other than sandals, and slip-ons, with comfort and ease. And one footwear you must consider are combat boots. In spite much of what pop culture might have us believe, they aren't just for punk bands and actually make for a pretty good accessory. They look good with skinny jeans, cut-offs, flared pants, even ethnic wear, if done right. We recommend these combat boots in black, making it easier to pair with outfits © Amazon MRP: Rs 498 Buy it here

  22. The Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week was as much about beards, as it was about fashion. Men's facial hair trends are always evolving, but our love for beards, clearly, is eternal. From a three-day-stubble to a full-fledged lumberjack beard, we got to see it all. Here is a list of the best beards we saw at the LMIFW, plus some pearls of beard-wisdom from their respective owners. 1. Model Dushyant Singh Raghuvanshi believes that maintaining a beard is not rocket science. He does two things regularly - oils his beard at night, and uses a beard serum in the morning. Plus, when he needs to go out and wants his beard to be in his desired shape, he uses some wax or gel. MensXP 2. According to FDCI Chairman Sunil Sethi, his beard is his identity. "Movember and no shave November started recently, but for me, it has been thirty years. A beard and a moustache is my signature style, and I'm happy that so many brands are now talking about beard care and beard grooming. A clean-shaven look may come in and go out from time to time when it comes to trends, but a bearded look will be up there, always. As far as maintaining my beard goes, it is my 'ghar ki kheti', and it has been giving me a good crop - year after year." MensXP 3. Photographer Yashasvi Sharma makes sure he doesn't dry up his beard up by washing it daily. He uses a beard wash every alternate day, and regularly nourishes his beard with a beard oil. He trims the edges once in a while to maintain the desired shape. MensXP 4. Narresh believes in professional help, and makes it a point to see his beard specialist once every two weeks. He trims his beard with a machine every 3rd or 4th day, and regularly uses beard oil to make sure his beard is soft, smooth, and nourished. MensXP 5. Yashdeep believes that beard care can be a cakewalk if you make sure you moisturize it regularly, and use a little bit of product to maintain the shape every time you step out. MensXP 6. Akshay is a professional model, and his beard is a prominent part of that. To take care of his beard, he regularly conditions it and uses a beard oil for the much-needed nourishment for his long beard. MensXP 7. Krishnendu believes in a no-fuss routine. He usually goes for a trim every Saturday and does a little bit of scrubbing at times for enhanced blood flow and good growth. MensXP 8. Mayank loves his stubble, something he says has been inspired by his father. He keeps it simple and makes it a point to go for a trim twice every week. MensXP 9. For Rishi Raj, maintaining his beard is the 'easiest thing in the world'. He says he doesn't have to do much at all, except trim or shave it twice or thrice in a week, depending on his mood. MensXP 10. For Akshay Sharma, it's all about the basics - regular trimming, using essential oils, and love for hair. MensXP We also asked celebrity hairstylist Rod Anker about the most important things to do when it comes to beard care. MensXP His answer was simple: keep reminding yourself to moisturize your beard, because it has a tendency to become dry, especially with the changing weather, and make sure you trim it regularly to maintain the shape.
  23. The evolution of street style has been rapid, and this dynamism can't be experienced anywhere better than in fashion weeks. We expected the same from the Lotus Make-Up India Fashion Week, and weren't disappointed in the slightest. The street style vibe at the LMIFW was all about functionality, wrapped up in sophistication, along with a hint of tasteful drama. Take a look: 1. 25. Google is about to launch a set of new devices at its annual event in New York next week and we have a fair idea what in store for all of us. There have been countless leaks that point towards a range of devices that are most probably launching alongside the Pixel 3. The 'Made By Google' event will surely feature the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, however, there are other devices slated as well. Google is expected to launch a new tablet called the 'Google Pixel Slate' along with a Google Home Hub Smart Display and more. Pixel 3 & 3 XL: What To Expect © YouTube The two flagship devices by Google are probably the most leaked smartphones in history and we have a few details that give us a fair idea — unless Google surprises us all together. The Pixel 3 and 3 XL are going to have considerable upgrades under the hood and will have a familiar design when compared to its predecessor. Internally, both smartphones are going to be identical in terms of specification and will have differences when it comes to design. The Pixel 3 XL will have a larger screen and a notch at the top that will probably host face unlocking sensors. The smaller variant will have an all-display look, similar to the previous generation with smaller bezels. The camera on the two smartphones are going to host a similar single camera setup and the only noticeable change, will be in the front-facing camera. The notch at the front will host two camera sensors where one will be a wide angle lens. As anticipated, we can expect some exceptional photography from either of the cameras, as Google enhances images, thanks to the photography algorithm. As for the innards, the Pixel 3 is expected to have Qualcomm's 845 processor under the hood and will be coupled with at least 4GB of RAM. The Pixel 3 is expected to have an Adreno 630 GPU and 64GB or 128GB of storage. The two smartphones will come with Android 9 Pie out of the box which has always been Google's selling point. Google Pixel Slate © Twitter The Pixel Slate is expected to be Google's first tablet powered by Chrome OS and will compete with Apple's iPad Pro and Surface Pro. Based on Brydge (a company making compatible keyboards) renders, we know that it will have a minimal design and will use a USB-C port. It is also expected to have a fingerprint sensor and will support both third-party and first-party keyboards. © Twitter Under the hood, benchmark tests of the secret device reveal it will have an Intel Amber Lake i7-8500Y processor and 16GB of RAM. 9to5Google also found out from the Chromium source, that it will have a 3000×2000 display, Sony IMX319 secondary camera sensors and, Sony IMX355 primary sensor. Google Home Hub © MySmartPrice Google Assistant-powered smart displays were announced at CES 2018 and we saw our first product by Lenovo shortly after. Google is now going to announce its own version of a smart display and will probably be called “Google Home Hub”. The device was discovered by MySmartPrice and it will essentially be a 7-inch display with a speaker. It is expected to be available in black and white. In terms of specifications, there will be a switch on the back-left side that will turn off the microphone, similar to Google Home. It will have other features such as Bluetooth, Wi-FI, and ambient light and colour sense. What Else? © Twitter Google is also slated to announced a wireless charging stand for the Pixel 3 and 3 XL which hints that the new smartphone will have support for the said feature. Google is also expected to launch a follow-up to last year's Pixelbook. A refreshed Chromecast is also in the books as it was accidentally sold by a BestBuy employee recently. Are you expecting anything else from Google's hardware event next week? Are you excited about the Pixel 3 and other devices? Let us know in the comments.
